GM Corp/Cadillac issued a recall to the vehicles info center CUE screens. They were deteriorating and potential provide false information on the cars message center. Cadillac replaced t he CUE screen on the 2014 SRX . The same screen that was replaced is now deteriorated to the point, that after 30 minutes of driving, the screen has become inoperative to the touch and not able to display and current information about the cars condition. This inoperative screen and lack of information creates a distraction and concern about the cars condition. Recall / Repair was done under invoice #218494 from AutoNation Cadillac of West Palm Bch, Fla
My 2014 (bought 2017) Cadillac SRX headlights are inadequate for night vision. I don't want to drive at night. The lights are too dim to be safe. When I went on online, I found about 30 people with the same problem on CarComplaint.com and GM is not helping us.
My elderly mother has a 2014 Cadillac SRX. While the vehicle was parked, the center information radio cue system screen cracked all of sudden. I am unable to use or see the cue system and afraid to touch the screen, so that I will not cut my hand or get injured. There was no warning that the screen had cracked. Since the incident first happened the cracking has gotten so much worst. I had my my mother take the vehicle to the dealer, to figure out why this happened, they informed me that the cost to replace the entire cue system would cost over $1200, and it was nothing that they could do, and that they have never seen this happen before. The vehicle only had approximately 43,000 miles on it when this happened. This is extremely unacceptable. TSB: PIC6055C (Electrical: Radio/Tape Deck/CD).
SCREEN JUST CRACKED.
ENTERTAINMENT CUE SYSTEM JUST STARTING CRACKING FOR NO REASON AT ALL. MY VEHICLE WAS JUST PARKED AND I CAME OUT TO MY VEHICLE AND I NOTICED THE SCREEN WAS STARTING TO CRACK AND SPREADING.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING SPEED LIMIT OF 70 TO 75 WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST ALL CONTROL AS IF I WAS ON A SHEET OF ICE AND I TRAVELED UNCONTROLLABLY ACROSS THE ENTIRE HIGHWAY LANES INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN ALMOST INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON THE OTHER SIDE BEFORE COMING TO A STOP
BACK IN FEBRUARY OF 2020 I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND IT STARTED JERKING AROUND REALLY BAD WHEN I WOULD EITHER UPSHIFT OR DOWNSHIFT IN 1-2 GEAR. TOOK IT TO CADILLAC AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. WE TOOK IT TO A COUPLE OF OTHER MECHANICS AND A LOT OF MONEY LATER NO ONE COULD FIND ANYTHING. ONE DAY DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THE CAR STARTED JERKING SO BAD THAT I ALMOST CRASHED. COME TO FIND OUT THE TRANSMISSION DIED. WE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN. WHEN I DRIVE AND GET TO ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR THE ENTIRE CAR SHAFTS TO SHAKE AND JERK AROUND AND THIS HAPPENED WHEN I HAD MY KIDS IN THE CAR. GM IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP US. AT THIS POINT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND AND CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP RANDOMLY REPLACING PARTS ON A CAR THAT IS JUST NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT. I AM TRULY AFRAID FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY.
INFORMATION SCREEN LOCKED UP NOT ALLOWING ME TO ACCESS CLIMATE CONTROL, RADIO, PHONE, NAVIGATION. MY MECHANIC TELLS ME THIS IS COMMON AT ABOUT 65000 MILES AND MINE JUST TURNED 66000. THE FIX IS ABOUT $1500.. ACCORDING TO INTERNET INFORMATION THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. PLANNED OBEISANCE BY GM? VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND I WAS TRYING TO GET IN PHONE MODE FROM CLIMATE TO HOOK UP HANDS FREE PHONE. NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO CHANGE MODE.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that the headlights failed to provide adequate illumination while driving at night. The contact stated that the headlights provided approximately 25 percent illumination. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE ISSUED THIS FORM. THE HEADLAMPS ON MY 2014 CADILLAC SRX (AND ABOUT 300,000 OTHERS) SETTING IS SUCH THAT THE HEADLAMPS' LOW BEAMS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY DUE TO FAULTY ENGINEERING OR MANUFACTURING AND SHOULD UNDERGO A RECALL SERVICE BY CADILLAC.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DELAWARE CADILLAC (1606 PENNSYLVANIA AVE, WILMINGTON, DE 19806; (302) 656-3100) WHERE THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHCILE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
MOISTURE ENTERING THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY ON MY 2014 CADILLAC SRX CAUSES THE LOW BEAM TO BECOME FOGGY AND UNABLE TO ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY AT DARK HOURS OR IN THE RAIN WHICH IN TURN RAISES A SAFETY ISSUE
THE HEADLIGHTS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE WORKING DON'T PUT OUT ENOUGH LIGHT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THERE WAS A LAWSUIT CONCERNING THIS MATTER, THE DEALER WANTED US TO FRONT $2200.00.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A REPLACEMENT WAS OFFERED UNDER A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT HOWEVER, THE TIME WAS EXPIRED. THERE WAS NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, I CAN'T SEE UNLESS I USE MY HIGH BEAMS, ON LOW BEAMS I CANNOT SEE THE ROADWAY. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS ISSUE REPAIR AND HOPE THAT GENERAL MOTORS WOULD HAVE TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIR, I CAN'T IMAGINE A MORE IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE THAN NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made a loud squealing noise even after having an alignment performed. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. ENGINE LIGHT REPEATEDLY COMES ON AT 100000 MILES. THEN GOES OFF. CODES INCLUDE : CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR BLOCK 1, TRACTION CONTROL, BLINKING ENGINE LIGHT. AFTER DRIVING FOR A DISTANCE OF 10 MILES OR MORE FOR A DURATION OF 1 TO 3 HOURS IN LIGHT OR HEAVY TRAFFIC.

THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE WHEEL BEARINGS AND SUSPENSION ARE SCARY WHEN YOU HEAR THE NOISES AND I THINK MORE SCARY WHEN YOU ASK FOR AN ESTIMATE WHICH I WILL PUT OFF DECIDING TO TAKE A CHANCE WITH AN AREA OF THE CAR THAT CAN TRULY CAUSE DEATH IF THE PAST MEANS ANYTHING. I AM GOING TO MENTION THE PROBLEM WITH THE DEFECTIVE QUE SYSTEM THAT THEY ARE CLEARLY TRYING TO DENY BUT DID PAY 90% OF MY $1000 REPAIR WITHOUT TAKING BLAME AND OF COURSE THIS IS NOT A REAL SAFETY CONCERN BUT WORTH DESCRIBING BECAUSE IT SHOWS A CLEAR PATTERN OF SUPPRESSION AND AVOIDANCE TO RECALL A CLEARLY DEFECTIVE PART OF A VEHICLE . The vehicle was later serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V473000 (Suspension) however, the failure recurred. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and dealer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.
MY CUE SCREEN IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. 1) BACK UP CAMERA IS NO LONGER VISIBLE WHEN PARKING MY CAR. 2) GPS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE BECAUSE I CANNOT GET INTO THE SYSTEM, I HAVE TO USE MY CELL PHONE FOR GPS ON THE HIGHWAY MAKING IT UNSAFE DUE TO THE SUPER SMALL SCREEN INSTEAD OF THE LARGE CUE SCREEN IN THE CADILLAC SRX I PURCHASED. 3) YOU CAN NO LONGER PAIR YOUR CELL PHONE WITH THE BLUETOOTH IN THE CADILLAC, BECAUSE THE TOUCH SCREEN WILL NOT FUNCTION. THIS MAKES MY VEHICLE NO LONGER HANDSFREE. 4) RADIO STATIONS AND XM NO LONGER AVAILABLE AND OTHER OPTIONS.
THE HEAD LIGHTS GIVE OFF A VERY LOW DIMMING OR A LOW BEAM OF LIGHT. WHICH I CANT SEE THE LINES INSIDE OF THE ROAD OR DIVIDING LANES. THE OUT SIDE GLASS THAT COVERS THE LIGHT IS CLEAR AND NOT DAMAGED.I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHT TO DRIVE EVERYDAY CONDITIONS. IKNOW OF OTHERS CADILLIAC OWNS WHO HAS ALSO EXPERIENCES THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE OF LIFE AND DEATH!! ON COMING TRAFFIC SOMETIMES BLOWING TO INFORM ME MY LIGHTS ARE LOW. LOOK INTO THIS SAFETY MATTER .
DUE TO COVID-19, I WAS NOT DRIVING AT NIGHT. RECENTLY, I NEEDED TO GO OUT IN THE EARLY EVENING AND REALIZED MY HEADLIGHTS WERE EXTREMELY DIM AND AT TIMES THERE ARE NO LIGHTS AT ALL. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!. NOW, I CANNOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT. CADILLAC IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY ISSUED A LETTER AND SAID THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WHICH POSSIBLY CAN OCCUR IN THE FUTURE AND PROVIDED A DEADLINE DATE. AT THE TIME I RECEIVED THE LETTER, MY CAR WAS FINE HOWEVER THE DEADLINE HAS PASSED, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I TAKE MY CAR FOR REPAIRS SAID TO CALL CADILLAC TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE DATE. I WAS SHOCK TO FIND OUT THAT CADILLAC WITL NOT EXTEND THE DEADLINE DATE NOR WILL MY $3200 EXTENDED WARRANTY COVER THE $1600+ REPAIRS EITHER. RECALL IS NECESSARY!
UNABLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT DUE TO VERY LOW LIGHT OUTPUT. LIKE DRIVING WITH NO LIGHTS OR WITH PARK LIGHTS. HAD NEW LIGHTS INSTALLED, BUT STILL VERY LOW LIGHTING. WORSE IF IT IS RAINING. CAN'T SEE 2 FOOT IN FRONT OF YOU UNLESS YOU HAVE THE HIGH BEAM ON. RURAL DRIVING, LIVE IN COUNTRY.
THE CADILLAC QUE (RADIO SCREEN) HAS CRACKED IN UPPER RIGHT CORNER & EXPANDING DOWN THE SCREEN & TOWARD LEFT SIDE OF SCREEN CAUSING DISTORTION TO WHAT IS DISPLAYED. MY CAR IS GARAGE KEPT AND NOT EVEN USED AS A DAILY VEHICLE. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED & DISAPPOINTED IN THIS FLAW & WOULD APPRECIATE A RECALL TO HAVE SCREEN REPLACED AT NO CHARGE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I CAN NOT SEE MORE THAN 2 FEET ON FROMT OF ME. THIS ISSUE IS APPARENTLY CAUSE BY FAULTY CASING ON THE HEADLIGHTS ON 2010-2016 SRX CADILLACS AND GM IS NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP FOR THIS MISTAKE. MY BEHICKE CANNOT BE DRIVEN AT NIGHT WITHOUT THE HIGH BEAMS ON. WE NOTICED THE ISSUE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AT NIGHT. THERE IS ALREADY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BECAUSE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
I PURCHASED A 2014 CADILLAC SRX AND BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION 7 MONTHS LATER. I WAS EXPERIENCING HARD SHIFT CHANGES CONSTANTLY WHILE DRIVING, TO THE POINT WHERE I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES FOR A DIAGNOSTIC REVIEW. OCCORDING TO THEM THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR UNTIL I DROVE IT THERE AND PHYSICALLY REQUESTED A MANAGER TO COME OUT AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH ME. THEN AND ONLY THEN THEY ADMITTED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR, THEY KEPT IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND CLAIMED THEY PERFORMED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL. I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND 5 WEEKS LATER I WAS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, THIS TIME WORST THAN THE 1ST TIME. BY THEN MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED, THEY DID NOT WANT TO GUARANTEE THEIR REPAIR AND THEY WANTED ME TO PAY ALMOST 3,000 DOLLARS FOR TRANSMISSION REPAIR THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE DONE. MY OTHER ISSUE IS WITH THE CUE, IT CRACKED WHILE THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO PAY 1,500 DOLLARS TO FIX. SECOND TIME I HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT. THIS MODEL HAS SO MANY ISSUES IT DEFINITELY SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES ON THE ROAD FROM A FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND CUES THAT CAN BE DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU HAVER TO USE YOUR CELL PHONE FOR NAVIGATION.
THE CUE SCREEN IS NOT FUNCTIONING. THE SCREEN HAS SPIDER-LOOKING CRACKS, I CAN NOT SYNC MY PHONE OR ANYTHING ELSE. I WAS TOLD BY CADILLAC THAT REPLACING IT WOULD COST 1600.00.
DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR DELAMINATED. CAR HAS EXACTLY 46663 MILES ON IT AND IS GARAGE KEPT. CADILLAC SAYS SORRY IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY AND WANTS ALMOST $500 TO REPLACE THIS SAFETY RELATED ITEM.
Headlights are dim causing it hard to see at night.
MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS SO DIM ON REGULAR (NOT HIGH BEAM), THAT I CANNOT SEE THE EDGE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO CADILLAC DIRECTLY. THEY ADVISED I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, WHICH I DID. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE REP AT FIELDS CADILLAC IN JACKSONVILLE THAT IT IS A REFLECTOR BEHIND THE BULB, AND THEY SEE IT A LOT. THE ISSUE IS THIS: I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPAIR IT; HOWEVER I HAD TO PAY FOR IT, AND CADILLAC WOULD REIMBURSE ME. I ASKED THE PRICE. IT WAS APPROX. $1500! I AM A WIDOW, LIVING ON SOCIAL SECURITY, AND DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF DISPOSABLE RESOURCES. SHE SAID THAT IS THE ONLY WAY THEY COULD REPAIR IT. I WAS VERY UPSET. I THOUGHT IT WAS COMPLETELY UNFAIR. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE CAD HEADLIGHTS DOING THE SAME THING AS MINE. I TOLD THEM IF I WAS KILLED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE, I WOULD MAKE SURE MY SON NEVER HAD TO WORK A DAY AGAIN IN HIS LIFE. IT WOULD BE ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT IN MY OPINION. I HAD TO DRIVE ABOUT 60 MILES TO MY HOME A FEW WEEKS AGO AFTER DARK, AND I WAS A NERVOUS WRECK. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA, AND THERE ARE SO MANY ANIMALS, ETC. THAT MUST BE SEEN IF THEY ARE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, NOT TO MENTION MY OWN VISIBILITY OF THE ENTIRE ROAD. WHEN I PUT MY HIGH BEAMS ON, OF COURSE DRIVERS COMING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION PUT THEIRS ON ME. SO WE'RE BOTH BLIND. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT BE OVERLOOKED BY CADILLAC OR THE NHTSA. *LN*JB

THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CREST CADILLAC (6280 TX-121, FRISCO, TX 75034) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VIN. THE CONTACT ALSO SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO STATED THAT A LETTER WAS SENT OUT IN REGARDS TO THE HEADLIGHT HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. DUE TO THE NON-RESPONSE, THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
Headlights are dim on low beam. After multiple reports/complaints by owners no recall was issued. It is a safety issue.GM offered to reimburse up to $1600. My dealer wanted $2502.40 plus tax to replace the lights. $1000 over the reimbursement cost which made a total of almost $3000 I had to put out then wait to get back $1600. I have not replaced the lights. This is a product safety issue that is GM's problem not mine. Why no recall?
LIKE SO MANY OTHERS MY EXTERIOR HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I FEEL IT A DANGER TO DRIVE AR NIGHT OR JUST DARK PLACES. I AM REPORTING THIS TO MY STATE AND IF THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT PAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM I AM WITH THE GROUP WHO WANTS A CLASS ACTION SUIT. I WARN EVERY ONE I KNOW NOT TO PURCHASE A CADILLAC BECAUSE THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WILL NOT EVEN LIGHT UP THE ROAD VERY WELL AND CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD. I SEARCHED THE WEB TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE WAS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM DUE TO MOISTURE GETTING IN THE HEADLIGHTS. THEY ARE SAYING IT'S CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER ERROR WITH 2010-2016 CADILLAC STX'S.
THE CUE SCREEN STARTED TO SPIDER ON ITS OWN
HEADLIGHTS, PARTICULARLY LOW BEAMS, HAVE BECOME VERY DIM OVER TIME. HEADLIGHT COVERS ARE NOT CLOUDED. NECESSARY TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS DURING NIGHTTIME HOURS. *BF CONSUMER STATED HEADLIGHTS WERE REPLACED.*JB
MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BACK HAS A BURN WHOLE CAUSED BY SEAT HEATER WHILE DRIVING.
The Headlights for my car - Cadillac 2014 SRX At night the headlights are not bright enough to see and driving is dangerous. The car is available for inspection upon request. I was driving at night making a turn and I hit a small sign post on a back road because I could not see it! I put others at risk driving with my high beams on blinding the oncoming cars. If people are walking on the road I can not see them and therefore put them at risk. Additionally I put myself and my family at risk. I am a first responder working in a Doctor's office after dark and have to drive home on back roads that are very dark and not lit with street lights. The dealer at Ingersoll Auto of Danbury CT confirmed the headlights do not work properly and are not bright enough to see at night. They said they are defective. When I purchased the car and could not see at night driving I contacted my dealership. They said the problem has been a recall in Florida. I contacted Cadillac who said they sent me a letter and I should have them fixed.
The seals on the headlights let moisture in, causing the lights to be dim.
MOSTLY DURING DECELERATIONS AT LOW SPEEDS, AS IS THE CASE FOR US UPON ENTERING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, WE EXPERIENCE HARD SHIFTS OR A "BUCK". THERE ARE OCCASIONS WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN ATTEMPTING A QUICK ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR LOW SPEED IN CITY TRAFFIC.
Running lights (low beans) can not be used. They are on, new, and adjusted properly. I have to drive with high beams on to see at night.
WHEN IT RAINS IT CAUSE WATER TO COLLECT IN THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT WHERE THE MODULE FOR THE LIFTGATE IS HOUSED. WHICH CAUSE THE CAR TO THINK IT'S BEEN STOLEN AND MAKES THE DASHBOARD AND SAFETY FEATURES DISABLE. IT ALSO MAKE THE CAR DON'T WANT TO TURN OFF AND IT RANDOMLY TURNS ON IF THE KEY IS NEAR BY. IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE CADILLAC SRX THAT CADILLAC REFUSE TO FIX OUT OF GOOD FAITH FOR ITS CUSTOMERS. IF THE MODULE GET WET YOU CAN SAY GOODBYE TO ANTILOCK BRAKES , TRACTION'S CONTROL ,AIRBAGS ,AND A HOST OF OTHER FEATURES TILL IT DRY OUT.
HEADLIGHT SO DIM COULD NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT. HAVE TRIED REPLACING BULBS BUT NOT REALLY HELPING. I FEEL THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE HEADLIGHT AND CADILLAC SHOULD PUT OUT A RECALL. DOING RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND MANY MANY COMPLAINS ABOUT THE SAME THING AND EVEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT.
MY HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH LIGHT TO BE SAFE. I CANNOT SEE WHEN THEY ARE ON THE LOW BEAM, AND OTHERS FLASH THEIR LIGHTS AT ME AS IF TO SAY THEY CAN'T SEE ME EITHER. I CAN SEE WELL WHEN THE HIGH BEAMS ARE ON, THEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC FLASHES THEY ARE TOO BRIGHT AND BLINDING THEM. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE ON THE INTERNET. I REPORTED IT TO THE CADILLAC DEALER, AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN RETURN MY CALL AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. DON'T IGNORE THE PROBLEM. SOMEONE COULD GET KILLED. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. I CANNOT PROVIDE ANY DATE BECAUSE IT IS ALWAYS LIKE THIS. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA, AND NEED GOOD HEADLIGHTS.

CADILLAC HAVE PROVIDED A LETTER TO CUSTOMERS TO SUBMIT A CLAIM TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHTS STATING A SMALL NUMBER OF SRX MODELS...YEA RIGHT DANGEROUS IS DANGEROUS... CAN REPLACE LIGHTS DUE TO MOISTURE..ETC..ETC.. HOWEVER, THEY ARE ONLY PROVIDING A CAP ($800 PER HEADLIGHT) OF WHAT THEY WOULD PAY. AFTER TAKING IT TO A CADILLAC DEALER THEY ARE CHARGING CUSTOMERS WAY OVER THE CAP AND WE HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALL STATUS IN THE FIRST PLACE. MY CAR IS A 2014 WITH ABOUT 59500 MILES NOW AT THE TIME OF THIS COMPLAINT. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TODAY 3 MAR 2020, I WAS TOLD THAT THE SAME MODEL HEADLIGHT WOULD BE INSTALL BACK INTO MY VEHICLE MEANING IN ABOUT 2 YEARS OR LESS I WOULD BE PLACE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET AGAIN. I AM NOT SURE WHAT VEHICLES YOU ALL ARE TESTING AND SAW THAT THESE SRXS HEADLIGHT ARE MEETING HEADLIGHT SAFETY STANDARD. I RECOMMEND YOU REEVALUATE THIS SITUATION AND CHARGE GM CADILLAC TO PUT A RECALL ON ALL THE VEHICLES THEY STATED WOULD HAVE AN ISSUE WITH OUR HEADLIGHTS. P.S. THE DAY I BOUGHT MY 2014 CADILLAC SRX ON THE DRIVE HOME IT GOT DARK AND MY LIGHTS CAME ON. I WAS IN TALLAHASSEE IN TRAFFIC SO I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE STREET LIGHTS THAT WERE MAKING THEM SEEM DIM. AS I CONTINUED HOME I WAS RUNNING THE LIGHTS ON HIGH WHEN I MET A CAR I PUT THEM ON LOW AND IT WAS LIKE I HAD NO LIGHTS AT ALL. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THIS WAS NEVER BROUGHT UP AND OF COURSE IT WAS TEST DRIVEN IN THE DAYLIGHT HOURS. I PURCHASED IT ON FEBRUARY 29, 2020, THE CARFAX CHECKED OUT GREAT, WITHOUT BEING AWARE THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM AND I REALLY DO NOT THINK THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE SOLD THE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION. CADILLAC FINALLY SENT LETTERS TO OWNERS IN FLORIDA AND THE WEEK FOLLOWING MY PURCHASE MY MOTHER RECEIVED A LETTER REGARDING A CLASS ACTION SUIT ON THE HEADLIGHTS ON HER 2013 CADILLAC SRX THAT WAS TOTALED DURING HURRICANE MICHAEL ON OCTOBER 10, 2018. I CONTACTED OUR LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD I COULD HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS REPLACED AT MY COST. THIS IS NOT FAIR THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE AND DURING THIS TIME A LOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE AN EXTRA $1700.00 LAYING AROUND BECAUSE THAT WAS THE QUOTE THAT I RECEIVED FROM THE DEALER. WITH ALL I HAVE FOUND IN MY RESEARCH AND EVEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT CADILLAC SHOULD BE REPLACING THE ASSEMBLY. I EVEN CONTACTED THE ADMINISTRATOR WITH CLASS ACTION SUIT AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN # WAS IN THE GROUP THAT WAS NOTIFIED EARLIER AND THAT DEADLINE HAD EXPIRED IN JUNE 2019 PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE BUT IT IS APPARENT THE WORK WAS NEVER DONE. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I CAN NOT AFFORD TO REPLACE IT. IF I HAVE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT MY ONLY OPTION IS TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS WHICH IS A DANGER TO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. Front headlights dim. Amount of light reflected/projected totally insufficient to drive safely at night. Amount of light reflected fails to illuminate area immediately in front of car. The amount of light actually approximates running lights. I replaced the headlight bulbs but did not solve or even affect the problem. Online research indicates it is not a bulb problem but the reflective coating around the bulb that has burned off on these parts. The fact there is no safety recall on a problem of generating sufficient light to illuminate the area in front of the car at night is shocking. A safety recall is necessary and way overdue.
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. I WENT AND HAD NEW LIGHTS PUT IN WITH LITTLE TO NO IMPROVEMENT. AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH, I NOTICED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR CADILLAC SRX 2010-2015. I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO CADILLAC AND THEY SAID IT WAS $2,100 TO FIX IT. IT'S ALMOST AS IF THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON WITH MY NEW HEADLIGHTS IN THERE. CADILLAC SHOULD BE REPLACING THE ASSEMBLY AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS BLINDING AND I CANNOT SEE THE LINES. MY ONLY OPTION IS TO TURN ON MY BRIGHTS WHICH IS UNSAFE FOR THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC
