LIGHTING ASSEMBLY IS COMPLETELY OUT ON VEHICLE. I CAN ONLY DRIVE WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS ON. I HAVE WENT OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES,DUE TO LIGHTING. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CHECKS FROM CADILLAC AND WAS TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY, BUT IS A WASTE BECAUSE IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE GOTTEN SO DIM IT IS HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT. IN ORDER TO GET DECENT VISIBILITY WE NEED TO DRIVE WITH HEADLIGHTS ON HIGH BEAM. IT IS BAD ENOUGH THAT I WILL NO LONGER ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE IT AT NIGHT. I CONTACTED THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL OR SERVICE ALERT FOR THAT PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD HEARD OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS. IT WILL ONLY BE A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOME IS KILLED OR HURT BECAUSE OF POOR VISIBILITY. IS THIS AN ISSUE FOR WHICH YOU ARE AWARE?
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2014 SRX ARE A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN. HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM YOU CAN'T SEE THE ROADWAY. IF GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR ON STREETS. AND WHEN YOU MAKE TURNS ON A DARK STREET YOU ARE BLIND.
HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM WHEN ON LOW BEAM CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. CADILLAC DEALER WILL CHARGE $1500 TO CHANGE OUT ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. LIGHTS ARE TOO BRIGHT TO DRIVE AROUND WITH HIGH BEAMS ON ALL THE TIME.
HEADLAMP LENSES, CIRCULAR MAGNIFIER CLOUDED (WITHIN THE ASSEMBLY) CAUSING DECREASED HEADLAMP PERFORMANCE. NEW LAMPS DO NOT CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. LITERALLY THIS CADILLAC HAS CATARACTS...
2014 CADILLAC SRX LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE GROWING PROGRESSIVELY DIMMER AND NOW THE VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN LOW LIGHT SITUATIONS. THIS OCCURED OVER THE COURSE OF A FEW WEEKS AND THE VEHICLE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4.5 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME OF NEAR TOTAL DARKNESS. ALTHOUGH THE HI-BEAMS STILL WORK FINE, IT IS UNSAFE TO SUBJECT ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO CONSTANT USE OF HI-BEAMS, YET WITHOUT THEM THE SRX DRIVER IS UNABLE TO SEE EVEN THE LINES ON THE ROAD. SO VERY DANGEROUS AND THIS CADILLAC OWNER IS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT, FOR FEAR OF HARMING HERSELF OR OTHERS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE GOING AT NIGHT. I ALMOST HIT A DIVIDER ON AN EXIT RAMP AT NIGHT BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE LINES ON THE ROAD. I HAD THEM ADJUSTED BY A CERTIFIED CADILLAC MECHANIC BUT IT DID NOT HELP. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON IN ORDER TO SEE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR ME AND ALSO TRAFFIC THAT I AM MEETING ON THE HIGHWAY. I SEE WHERE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT'S ONLY A MATTER TIME BEFORE THERE IS A FATALITY. WITH THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINT IT SEEMS CADILLAC WOULD CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS AND THE SAFETY OF THE CONSUMER.
THE HEADLIGHT EXTREMELY DIM WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT MADE THE CAR SO DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AFTER DARK.
WE HAVE A 2014 CADILLAC WE BOUGHT USED A YEAR AGO. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS LUMINOSITY HAS DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THAT IS UNSAFE, ACTUAL DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I HAVE ATTACHED TWO PICTURES THAT I TOOK. ONE IS MY NISSAN ALTIMA SHOWING NORMAL PROJECTION AND THE CADILLAC SRX WHICH CLEARLY SHOWS IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE DEALER AND CADILLAC REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS AN ISSUE AND WILL DO NOTHING. RESEARCH CLEARLY SHOWS THIS TO BE AN ISSUE IN 2010 TO 2015 CADILLACS. CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILES IN MULTIPLE STATES. I CANNOT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE LET MY WIFE DRIVE IT AT NIGHT AND SHE STATES SHE IS AFRAID TO DO SO. I BELIEVE THE FOLKS AT NHSTA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE PEOPLE ARE HURT IN ACCIDENT. THANK YOU.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PROJECTOR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUNSET CADILLAC OF VENICE (LOCATED AT 2367 S TAMIAMI TRAIL, VENICE, FL 34293, (941) 584-8540) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS EXCESSIVE CLOUDING OF THE LENS, WHICH REDUCED THE ILLUMINATION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-4929540255. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,837.
THE BRAKES ON MY SRX FAIL TO OPERATE WHEN YOU PUSH ON THEM IT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE BRAKES AND YOU FEEL A PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL BUT THE CAR DOESN'T STOP THERE'S A DELAYED RESPONSE AND IT HAPPENS AT RANDOM I'VE OWNED MANY VEHICLES IN EXCESSIVE 30 VEHICLES I HAVE BEEN A CAR SALESMAN FOR 10 YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A CAR LIKE THIS IT HAS BREAK FADE OR OR GHOST BREAKS I HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS AND RAN INTO THE BACK OF A VEHICLE BUT IN ADDITION OF THAT I HAVE RUN INTO THE BACK OF VEHICLES ON FOUR OCCASIONS WITH THIS VEHICLE CURRENTLY I OWN THREE VEHICLES AND THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I'VE EVER HAD AN ACCIDENT IN AND NOW I'VE HAD FOUR INCIDENTS OF BUMPING ANOTHER VEHICLE EVEN WHILE PARALLEL PARKING BECAUSE THE CAR DOESN'T STOP ADDITIONALLY I HAD A FRIEND OF MINE WITH OVER 30 YR IN THE CAR BUSINESS DRIVE THE CAR AND HE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM I'VE LOOKED ONLINE NOW AND I FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HASN'T BEEN FIXED AND EVERYONE TAKES IT TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER TELLS ME YOUR BRAKES ARE FINE THERE'S A PROBLEM IN THEIR SOFTWARE FOR THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND IT DOESN'T APPLY THE BRAKES WHEN YOU THINK THEY'RE ON THEIR NOT
THE CUE STOP WORKING. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS KIND OF VEHICLE. ALL THE OWNERS WHO HAVE THE VEHICLES ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR PLACE ANOTHER KIND OF SYSTEM IN THE CAR. IF YOU GOOGLE THIS ISSUE IT COMES UP RIGHT AWAY. NO ONE HAS $1200 TO KEEP GETTING THIS FIXED. MY TRUCK IS IN A/C MODE AND I CANNOT CHANGE IT.
TAKATA RECALL I CAN NOT DRIVE MY 2014 CADILLAC SRX AT NIGHT ON LOW BEAM THEY ARE SO DEAM YOU CAN NOT SEE. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY LIGHTS ON HIGH I KNOW IT IS NOT SAFE BUT I DON'T HAVE A CHOICE. THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CADILLAC SRX ON MY DRIVE HOME IT GOT DARK AND MY LIGHS CAME ON I WAS RUNNING THEM ON HIGH WHEN I MET A CAR I PUT THEM ON LOW IT WAS LIKE I HAD NO LIGHTS AT ALL I HAD TO PUT THEM BACK ON HIGH I KNOW IT WAS BLINDING THE OTHER DRIVER.
OWN A 2014 CADILLAC SRX HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM CA NOT SEE BEYOND 5 FEET IN FRONT OF THE BUMPER TOOK TO CADILLAC REPLACED HEADLIGHT BULBS STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. WAS PULLED OVER BY POLICE WAS TOLD HEADLIGHTS ARE TO DIM TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON TO GET HOME AND HAVE SOMEONE FIX. CALLED CADILLAC THEY SAID THEY CALL THE DEALER AND HEADLIGHTS ARE TO GM SPECS. LOOKED ON LINE FOR POSSIBLE FIX AND LOTS OF SAME PROBLEMS WITH NO SOLUTIONS. CANT DRIVE AT NIGHT OR WHEN IT RAINS OR IN THE FOG AS MUST DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON TO SEE. THIS IS WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AS WELL AS DRIVING
DASH SCREEN SOMETIMES DOES NOT WORK IF FREEZES UP AND IS NOT USEABLE. I HAD THIS REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO AT ABOUT 60,000 MILES AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN AT 90,000 MILES. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND A HIGHWAY
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND YOU ARE USING LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC THE HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT PUT OUT ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE THE ROAD. MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THESE CARS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT IS WAY TO DIM AND NOT MUCH BRIGHTER THE THE DAY TIME DRIVING LIGHTS. WHEN COMPARING THIS MODEL CAR TO OTHERS SIDE BY SIDE ON LOW BEAM THIS MODEL IS LESS THAN HALF AS BRIGHT AS THE OTHER MODELS ON LOW BEAMS. CADILLAC AND THE LOCAL DEALER SAY NOTHING CAN BE DONE FOR IMPROVEMENT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
2014 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS THAT APPEAR TOO DIM. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THE COATING ON THE HEADLAMP HOUSING WAS THE CAUSE OF THE DIM LIGHTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED TO COVER 50% OF THE REPAIR COSTS. *JS
DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY LOW. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH DIM LIGHTS ON. WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE BLINKER IS BRIGHTER THAN THE ACTUAL LIGHTS. VERY LOW VISABILITY. WHEN DRIVING I OFTEN THINK THE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON WHEN THEY ARE ON LOW BEAM. WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SEE A CHILD OR ANIMAL (OR ANY OBJECT) IN PATH OF VEHICLE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. CADILLAC SRX STOPPED AT RED LIGHT AND HEARD CAR REVIVING UP. KEPT FOOT ON BRAKE BUT I AM VERY CONCERNED. WE WERE ON A CITY STREET.

THE CUE TOUCH SCREEN BECOMES FROZEN AND UNUSABLE. DISPLAY WORKS BUT FUNCTIONALITY DOES NOT.
THE DIM HEADLIGHTS ON THE CAR ARE AWFUL YOU CAN HARDLY SEE ANYTHING AT NIGHT, YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT DRIVING AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS RAINING YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING AT ALL. WHEN YOU DIM YOUR HEADLIGHTS IT IS LIKE YOU TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS. WHAT IS REALLY BAD IS WHEN YOU HAVE PAID ALOT FOR THIS CAR AND YOU DON'T EVEN FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AT ALL. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE TOLD OUR CHILDREN IF SOMETHING EVER HAPPENS TO US IN THIS CAR AT NIGHT FOR THEM TO BE SURE TO SUE CADILLAC BECAUSE THEY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT EVER HAPPENS TO US. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM ON THIS CAR THAT YOU HAVE TROUBLE SEEING THE ROAD AFTER DARK. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THOUGHT I HAD THE PARKING LIGHTS ON. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN SEE ON A DARK ROAD IS TO USE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS WHICH ONLY BLINDS THE ONCOMING DRIVERS. THESE LIGHTS ARE VERY DANGEROUS ON CITY STREETS AND TWO LANE ROADS AS YOU CAN'T SEE THE ROAD OR THE SIDES OF THE ROAD . I CAN NOT AFFORD THE $2000 OR MORE THAT IT COSTS TO GET THIS FIXED AS IT CAST OTHERS. THIS A PART DEFECT AND GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING FAULTY EQUIPMENT BEFORE CAUSES INJURY OR DEATH.
HEAD LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM FORCING OWNER TO USE HIGH BEAMS ON A SEMI REGULAR BASIS
JULY 4, 2018 I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION WHERE I RAN INTO THE BACK OF A VEHICLE AROUND 9:45PM. IT BOTHERED ME THAT I DID NOT SEE THE CAR UNTIL I WAS RIGHT ON HER. ALL OF A SUDDEN I SAW HER CAR AND SHE WAS MOVING NOT STANDING STILL. IT DAWNED ON ME THAT I COULD NOT SEE HER CAR OR JUDGE THE DISTANCE FROM HER BECAUSE MY HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO SEE WHAT IS IN FRONT OF ME. I CAUSED MY INSURANCE RATES TO GO UP. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT SINCE THE LATE 1970S. I AM A GOOD DRIVER AND WAS NOT DISTRACTED IN ANY WAY. OVER $3,000 WORTH DAMAGE WAS DONE TO MY CAR AND I'M NOT SURE HOW MUCH TO THE VEHICLE I HIT. CADILLAC NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE HEADLIGHTS BEFORE THERE IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. JULY 4, 2018 I HIT THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AND IT BOTHERED ME BECAUSE I WAS ALERT PAYING ATTENTION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR WAS IN FRONT OF ME. IT BOTHERED ME THAT I HIT THE CAR AND COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY? NOW I KNOW, I COULD NOT SEE THE CAR BECAUSE MY HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. MY CAR INSURANCE WENT UP BECAUSE IT COST CLOSE TO $4,000 TO MAKE THE REPAIRS. I WOULD LIKE FOR CADILLAC TO RECALL THE HEADLIGHTS ON THESE VEHICLES. THEY ARE UNSAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. I AM CONSIDERING THE ADVICE OF AN ATTORNEY NOT THAT I KNOW THE LIGHTS WERE THE ISSUE AND NOT ME. I WAS NOT SPEEDING IN THE ACCIDENT AND THE CAR IS FRONT OF ME WAS JUST GOING SLOW, NOT IN A STOPPED POSITION. MY HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH THAT I COULD JUDGE THE DISTANCE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE.
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM AT NIGHT ON LOW BEAM YOU CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ THERE ARE MANY MANY OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY GENERAL MOTORS
MY 2014 CADILLAC CUE SCREEN HAS DEVELOPED SPIDER WEB CRACKS WHICH PREVENT ME FROM SEEING THROUGH THE SCREEN. THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I AM UNABLE TO VIEW THE BACKUP CAMERAS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CADILLAC WITH NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. I HAVE ONLY 35,000 MILES ON MY CAR. ONE DAY AFTER LEAVING MY CAR OUTSIDE DURING A HOT DAY, THE CRACKS APPEARED. CADILLAC/GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.
WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE NEIGHBORHOOD AT NIGHT, THE CAR HAS A FEATURE TO SWITCH BETWEEN HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS AND LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THE FEATURE WORKS FINE, HOWEVER, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HIGH BEAM LIGHT AND THE LOW BEAM LIGHT IS EXTREMELY DRAMATIC AND THIS MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR A PERSONS EYES TO READJUST AND FOCUS TO SEE AT THE LOW BEAM SETTING. THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. THEY DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE STOP SIGNS AS THE DRIVER APPROACHES. I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO A DANGEROUSLY SLOW SPEED IN ORDER TO SEE THE STREET SIGNS. I BOUGHT THE CAR 5 DAYS AGO USED AND DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR. IN THE PAST 4 DAYS, I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP GET THE LOW BEAMS ANY BRIGHTER. THEY CANNOT!! THE SERVICE MANAGER CAME OUT TO TALK WITH ME AND SHOWED ME PICTURES OF THE 'HOUSING' FOR THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS AND THERE ARE METAL BRACKETS IN THE WAY OF THE LIGHT, WHICH HE EXPLAINED WILL FORCE THE LIGHT TO CAST TOO FAR DOWN. THIS IS WHY STREET SIGNS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO READ AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR. PLEASE RECALL IT AND FIX THIS PROBLEM! THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO POOR VISIBILITY. HENNESSY CADILLAC (3377 SATELLITE BLVD, DULUTH, GA 30096, (770) 680-7000) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT IT WAS A COMMON FAILURE AND THAT THE HEAD LAMP ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON BOTH SIDES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,876.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS CONTINUE TO GROW DIM WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THERE IS A SLIGHT REGENERATION WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. RESTART THE VEHICLE THEN THE HEADLIGHTS APPEAR TO CONTINUE TO DIM WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS IS A NATIONAL SAFETY ISSUE. SEVERAL LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED IN CALIFORNIA, FLORIDA, ILLINOIS.
I CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM YOU CAN'T SEE THEM 100 FT AWAY.ALSO WATER IN ASSEMBLY. HAVE REPLACED AND IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE.
THE VICHECLE IS JUMPING WITH A SUDDEN KICK WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND BRAKING. THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING TO WORK IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC AS WELL AS ROUTINE NAVIGATION LOCALLY.

The headlights on my 2014 Cadillac SRX are unusable because they are so dim. I am at the point where I don’t drive at night. Although I did try putting new bulbs in that did not fix the problem. There is some defect in the lens, reflector, or housing. Not being able to see the road at night is a huge safety concern and running with my hi-beams on all the time is a safety concern for other motorists. I have done a little research and it would seem this is a very wide spread problem and not specific to my vehicle. I noticed it when I first purchased the vehicle used in 2018 but has continually degraded every since to the point I am at now where I can’t even tell if my headlights are even on.
ON MAY 12, 2018, WE WERE DRIVING WEST ON MARYLAND INTERSTATE 68 THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS. WE WERE DRIVING DOWNWARD ON ONE OF THE MANY MOUNTAINS AND I NOTICED A WOBBLE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. I BEGAN TO WORRY AND SLOWED DOWN FROM 70 MPH TO 50 MPH. AS I APPROACHED THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUNTAIN THERE WAS A CURVE TO THE LEFT. ALL OF THE SUDDEN WE LOST CONTROL LIKE WE WERE ON ICE. WE TURNED 360 DEGREES AND SLAMMED INTO THE RIGHT BERM GUARD RAIL AND THEN PROCEEDED TO TRAVEL BACK ACROSS THE TWO LAND HIGHWAY AND HIT THE LEFT MEDIAN GUARDRAIL AND CAME TO A STOP. THERE WERE THREE OF US IN THE CAR AND FORTUNATELY ONLY MINOR INJURIES. WE OBSERVED THAT THE AXLE AT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL HAD SHEERED OFF. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! ALSO. THE SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE SLAMMED INTO THE GUARD RAIL. *TR
WHEN DRIVING, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT . IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO EVEN TELL IF THEY ARE ON. HIGH BEAMS ARE FINE. DRIVING AT NIGHT HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY FROM DIM LIGHTS. THIS HAS BEEN GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER THE PAST ~ 6 MONTHS.

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BECAME VERY DIM WHILE DRIVING 5 HOUR BACK FROM NORTH FLORIDA. I COULD NOT SEE THE ROAD UNLESS I TURNED ON THE HIGH BEAMS.THE HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED IT WOULD CAST $1,600.00 TO REPLACE TWO LOW BEAM LIGHT BULBS WITH THE SAME BULB THAT WERE FAILING AFTER 4 YEARS OF USE. LOOKING ONLINE, I FOUND THAT OTHER SRX OWNER THAT PAID FOR THIS REPAIR EXPERIENCED THAT THE HEADLIGHT REPLACEMENT WAS EITHER A SHORT TERM FIX, 3 TO 6 MONTHS OR IT DOES NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE AT ALL. CONTINUING TO DRIVE THIS CAR AT NIGHT WOULD BE A SEVERE DANGER AND WILL CERTAINLY END IN A CRASH. CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH. EITHER BY BLINDING ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH HIGH BEAMS FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD WITH LOW BEAMS. MY ONLINE SEARCH FOUND SEVERAL SOLUTIONS ENGINEERED BY AFTERMARKET COMPANIES THAT FIX THIS DEFECT. THE COST IS $70.00 TO $150.00 AND REQUIRES ABOUT 4 HOURS WORK TO INSTALL. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT AND THE AFFECTED VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BULBS COULD BE REPLACED AND THE HEADLAMP LENS COULD BE RESTORED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE COULD RECUR. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE INTERNAL REFLECTOR IN THE HEADLAMP WAS AT FAULT AND THAT THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED IN MICHIGAN. IT WAS A VEHICLE FROM NEW YORK. THE HEADLIGHT ARE SO DIM I HAVE TO USE THE BRIGHTS AS MUCH AS I CAN WHILE DRIVING. THEY FINALLY SENT LETTERS TO OWNERS ON FLORIDA THAT THE KNOW THE HAVE AN ISSUE BUT NOW WANTS THE CONSUMER TO PAY OUT OF POCKET AND SUBMIT A CLAIM. THIS IS UNFAIR AND DANGEROUS MANY PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE AN EXTRA 1600 DOLLARS LAYING AROUND. GM SHOULD BE MADE TO ISSUE A RECALL AND PAY FOR THEIR POOR PART ISSUES WITH THEIR PRODUCT NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
