General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 Chevrolet Aveo and 2009 Pontiac G3 vehicles. The vehicles may contain brake fluid which does not protect against corrosion of the valves inside the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module, affecting the closing motion of the valves.
Remedy Status
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module, free of charge, in any vehicle that did not have its module replaced under a previous customer satisfaction campaign. The recall began in late September 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-762-2737 (Pontiac). GM's number for this recall is 14505.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE A-ARM CONNECTING THE STEERING TO THE TIRES UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES, AND THEN SLOWLY DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO LBSI AUTOMOTIVE LLC (109 PITTSBURGH RD, UNIONTOWN, PA 15401, (724) 437-5274) BUT GOT NO RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,943.
PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WAS STUCK IN THE RUN POSITION IN THE IGNITION AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FUSE AND THE GROUND WIRE HAD TO BE UNPLUGGED TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TT

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF AN UNKNOWN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE WHILE THE EMISSIONS TEST WAS BEING PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARXEN CHEVROLET CADILLAC (1118 W HISTORIC ROUTE 66, FLAGSTAFF, AZ 86001) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000.
COMING HOME FROM WORK ON HIGHWAY.. GOING UP SMALL INCLINE SPEED STARTED TO DROP. THEN SHUT OFF. SMOKE FROM UNDER HOOD WOULD NOT START. MADE A CLICKING NOISE. COMPUTER READ SEVERAL CODES RELATING TO KNOCK SENSOR. WAS REPLACED (2ND TIME) AND CODES CLEARED. STILL NOT STARTING. NO CODES SHOWING. STARTER ALSO REPLACED. OTHER RELAY SENSORS CHECKED. THIS CAR HAS BEEN AN EXPENSE EVER SINCE PURCHASED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE WERE UNSTABLE WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER (EDMOND CHEVROLET BUICK GMC, 824 E MAIN ST, BRADFORD, PA 16701, (814) 331-4476) WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE CORRECT SOLUTION AFTER INSPECTING AND DIAGNOSING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BALL JOINTS, WHICH DID NOT PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR AN INSPECTION AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE BOLT THAT NEEDED TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,300.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE MISFIRE IN CYLINDER FOUR, WHICH AFFECTED THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN TSB CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11290B. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE NHTSA ISSUED RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.
WHEN I DRIVE DOWN THE STREET MY CAR WILL GO OUT OF DRIVE THE I WILL HAVE TO STOP THE CAR THEN TURN IT OFF. THEN TURN IT BACK ON.
CAR BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO THE GAS PEDAL AT 45 MPH. A LOUD CLICKING NOISE COULD BE HEARD UNDERNEATH ABOUT MID BODY. IT DOESNT WANT TO ACCELERATE FOR PASSING ETC. COULD SMELL FUEL AND THE CAR WAS SMOKING LIGHTLY WHEN I GOT IT HOME. SAT IT FOR 30 MINUTES AND IT SEEMS TO BE OK FOR NOW,BUT HAVENT BEEN ON HIGHWAY YET. 36,000 MILES.
FOUR TIRES OF AUTOGRIP P308 40K/AG308P1402 WERE PURCHASED IN LATE NOVEMBER 2015 WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 61674 MILES ON IT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE IN LATE FEBRUARY 2017 WITH ONLY 69933 MILES WHEN THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE TIRES WERE WORN TO THE WEARBAR. THIS WAS NOT THE LOCATION WHERE THE TIRES HAD BEEN PURCHASED. FOR WARRANTY REASONS THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCATION WHERE THE TIRES HAD BEEN PURCHASED AND HAD THEM REPLACED, THE COMPANY THAT THE TIRES WERE ORIGINALLY PURCHASED FROM DID NOT REPLACE TIRES FOR FREE, BUT PRORATED THE COST OF NEW TIRES. THEY NO LONGER CARRY THIS BRAND AND CLAIM THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. MY SPOUSE AND I FEEL THAT THE TIRES THEMSELVES WERE DEFECTIVE, BUT DO NOT SEE ANY RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT. THIS IS THE SIXTH VEHICLE THAT WE HAVE OWNED IN OUR ADULT LIVES AND HAVE NOT EXPERIENCE SUCH A QUICK PRODUCT FAILURE WITH TIRES. WE BELIEVE AN INVESTIGATION IS IN ORDER AND THANK YOU FOR REVIEWING THE CONCERN.
THERMOSTAT STAYED CLOSED.NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON.DRIVING ON INTERSTATE.CAR JUST SHUT DOWN.SPEED WAS 65 TO 70.O2 SENSOR HAS GONE OUT ALSO FOR THE SECOND TIME IN TWO AND HALF YEARS.THE CAR HAD ONLY ABOUT 68000.MILES WHEN THE THERMOSTAT GOT STUCK.HAD TO HAVE MAJOR WORK DONE ON THE CAR.HEAD DID NOT CRACK.IT HAD TO BE REPAIRED.ALONG WITH OTHER ISSUES BECAUSE OF THAT PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAD GASKET, MANIFOLD GASKET, LUBE VALVE COVER, TIMING BELT, AND UPPER RADIATOR HOSE MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE FAILURE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 122,000.
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND STREETS THE CAR WILL LOOSE SPEED WHILE YOUR DRIVING AND STALL AS IF IT'S NOT GETTING FUEL. SHE WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND LUCKY SHE WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER BEFORE THE CAR DIED OUT. I HAD THIS PROBLEM CHECK SEVERAL TIMES AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENSOR AND STILL AM HAVING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON 10-1-2015

SAME PROBLEM WITH MY SILVER AVEO ODI #10660361 ONLY WAS IN MOTION WHEN NO POWER OCCURRED .HAPPENED THREE TIMES WITH SILVER AVEO.
