WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF A LOT OF THE TIME JUST LIKE GM RECALL #07174 NHTSA ID # 07V344000. BACK WHEN IT STARTED DEALER SAID IT WOULD BE HARD TO FIND THE PROBLEM NOW THEY SAY THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALL ON THIS CAR. *TR
STARTED SMELLING GASOLINE AFTER LEAVING MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX PARKED FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THEN MY EQUINOX HAD DIFFICULTY STARTING AFTER BEING PARKED OVERNIGHT. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER, AND THEY FOUND A CRACKED FUEL TANK AND A LEAK IN THE FUEL PUMP. THE COST FOR THE FUEL TANKS WAS $1,000, BUT THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO APPLY A ONE-TIME GM SAFETY FIX, WHERE I ONLY PAID $200 AND GM COVERED THE REST. THE LEAK IN THE FUEL PUMP WAS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE AIR BAG SENSOR FAILED. THE CONTACT FOUND NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V344000 (AIRBAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE), BUT THE MANUFACTURER SAID THEIR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
MY 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX KEEPS TAKING ON WATER IN THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN DRIVING DOWN HILL, THE WATER WILL ENTER THE INSIDE OF VEHICLE THUS WETTING THE CARPET ON THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. HOW THE WATER ENTERS THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RESEALED AROUND THE REAR DOOR OF THE VEHICLE AND THIS HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE WATER MUST BE ENTERING THE VEHICLE FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE. I HAVE READ COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX OWNERS. BASED ON THEIR COMPLAINTS, THEY ARE NOT GETTING ANY RESOLUTION FROM GENERAL MOTORS. THIS MOISTURE IN VEHICLE CAN CAUSE MILDEW TO OCCUR IN THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO THE OCCUPANTS. *TR

I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX THAT I PURCHASED 2ND HAND. THE PASSENGER AIR-BAG WOULD NOT ENGAGE (IT HAD AN X THROUGH IT) WHEN MY WIFE SAT IN THE SEAT. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO SUGGESTED THAT I TRY PUTTING A CUSHION ON THE SEAT. I BOUGHT A 1" THICK CUSHION AND THE AIR-BAG LIGHT HAS WORKED (INDICATING THAT THE AIR-BAG IS ENGAGED) EVERY TIME SINCE. A SIMPLE FIX TO A POTENTIALLY LIFE-THREATENING PROBLEM! *TR
LEAKAGE IN VEHICLE REAR SPARE TIRE WELL. TRANSFERRED ONTO REAR PASSENGER FLOOR/CARPET. ALL WINDOWS FOGGY FROM INSIDE AND MUST KEEP DEFOGGER ON AT ALL TIMES (EVEN IN HEAT) TO KEEP WINDOWS CLEAR FOR VISIBILITY. MOLD AND MILDEW FROM WATER CAUSING ILLNESS IN FAMILY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 25 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN WHEN THE STEERING COLUMN FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE MANUFACTURE ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD TAKE THE LIABILITY FOR THE PARTS BUT THE CONTACT WOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LABOR COSTS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT AT ROUGHLY 20 MILES AN HOUR IN A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX MOSTLY FRONT END AND DRIVER SIDE DAMAGE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MAJOR FRONT END DAMAGE SUSTAINED. *TR
2007 EQUINOX WITH 69,000 MILES HAD A GAS SMELL OUTSIDE AS WELL AS IN THE CABIN. TOOK IT RIGHT TO THE DEALER ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE SERVICE SUPERVISOR PUT IT ON THE LIFT AND SAID I HAD A GAS LEAK AND COULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE. INDICATED IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE FUEL PRESSURE MODULATOR. ESTIMATED THE COST OF REPAIR WOULD BE ABOUT $650 PLUS LABOR. I CALLED BACK THAT MONDAY EVENING TO INQUIRE IF THE LEAK HAD BEEN PINPOINTED. GOOD NEWS!!! THE PART WOULD TAKE A COUPLE OF DAYS TO GET IN BUT IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY!!! SAVED ME BETWEEN $1200 - $1500. CHEVY DEALER IN ENTERPRISE, AL IS THE GREATEST! DON'T KNOW WHY SO MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME TYPE PROBLEM ARE TURNED AWAY BY THE DEALER. *TR
AT LEAST 10 TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST YEAR , THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN THE IGNITION AND SOMETIMES THE KEY GETS STUCK. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS OF JIGGLING THE KEY AND TRYING TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL (WHICH SEEMS TO BE LOCKED WHEN THIS HAPPENS) I GET THE KEY TO TURN. I JUST TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TWO MONTHS AGO AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS WORKING AS NORMAL. IF THIS IS NORMAL, WHAT IS ABNORMAL? THIS HAPPENED TO MY SISTER'S AVEO AND THEY REPLACED HER IGNITION, BUT HER KEY STILL GETS STUCK SOMETIMES. *TR
IN OCTOBER 2010 WHILE TRAVELING IN ILLINOIS, THE VEHICLE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS TOLD BY A DEALERSHIP IN ILLINOIS THAT NOTHING WAS FOUND TO TRIGGER THE ALARM AFTER THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC, AND DROVE THE CAR FOR A WHILE. A FEW DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING FROM ILLINOIS TO COLORADO, THE "SERVICE STABILITRACK" LIGHT CAME ON, BUT WENT OUT AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 60 MILES WITH IT ILLUMINATED. AGAIN I WAS TOLD OVER THE PHONE BY THE ILLINOIS DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS PROBABLY NOTHING TO BE CONCERNED WITH, AND IT SHOULD RESET ITSELF. IN DECEMBER 2010, I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. I RECEIVED NO ALARMS THE PREVIOUS DAY, AND THE CAR WAS WORKING PROPERLY. THE SERVICE STABILITRACK LIGHT REMAINED ON AT THIS POINT. I LOSS THE ABILITY TO DRIVE MY CAR SAFELY TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT AT IN COLORADO. AFTER TOWING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR" HAD GONE OUT, AND WOULD NEED REPLACING AT THE COST OF $1000. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL HISTORY CODES INDICATING BACK TO OCTOBER, THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED THAT CHEVY HAS RECALLED OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! *TR
A STARTED TO SMELL ANTIFREEZE INSIDE THE CAR. CHECKED COOLANT LEVEL AND IT WAS GOOD. LAST NIGHT STARTED THE CAR IN 40 DEGREE WEATHER, AND THE WINDOWS IN THE WHOLE CAR WOULD NOT DEFOG. NO VISIBILITY TO DRIVE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. HEATER CORE AND/OR BROKEN AIR BLEND DOOR AND ACTUATOR PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SRS WARNING LAMP WAS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY FAIL TO START. THE CONTACT ALSO ADDED THAT WHEN DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE SPARE TIRE WELL WOULD FILL WITH WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS OR DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT SMELLED GASOLINE AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A GASOLINE LEAK. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 58,000.
2007 CHEVY EQUINOX GAS LEAK. NOTICED INCREASED SMELL OF GAS. PREVIOUS TO THIS I HAD A LONGER THEN NORMAL STARTING PROBLEM, WINDS OUT THEN STARTS. I WAS TOLD TO LEAVE THE KEY IN START POSITION TO BUILD UP PRESSURE IN THE GAS LINES. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO WARRANTY THE DEFECT. I ASKED FOR A QUOTE AND SAID IT WAS UPWARD OF $1,500. THIS IS AFTER HAVING TO PAY $93 DOLLARS FOR TELLING ME I HAD A GAS LEAK I KNOW I ALREADY HAD. TO MY OWN TROUBLESHOOTING I FOUND THAT THE FITTING THAT ATTACHES THE HIGH PRESSURE GAS LINE TO THE GAS PUMP MANIFOLD APPEARS TO BE A PLASTIC TO PLASTIC COMPRESSION FITTING. IT IS HIGHLY LIKELY THAT AFTER CONSTANT VIBRATION THESE TWO PLASTIC PARTS CAN CREATE A GAP FOR GAS TO ESCAPE IN LARGE QUANTITY. THUS THE CONSTANT GAS SMELL. WITH THE KEY IN THE START POSITION NOTICEABLE GAS CAN BE SEEN DISPENSING ONTO THE FLOOR. A MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN MY EYES. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FIX IT MYSELF WITH GM PARTS AT A HIGH COST OF & 600.00 DOLLARS, A GAS PUMP ASSEMBLY NOT OTHERWISE FOUND ELSEWHERE. WITH THE ANTICIPATION OF THE NEW PART HAVING THE SAME DEFECT. *TR
2007 CHEVY EQUINOX. WATER LEAKS INTO SPARE TIRE WELL. I NEVER HAD OCCASION TO LOOK IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL AS I HAVE NEVER HAD A FLAT TIRE SO I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT STARTED LEAKING. BUT AFTER CHECKING ON THE INTERNET I FIND THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE FROM THE VERY FIRST TIME THAT GM STARTED PRODUCING THIS VEHICLE. *TR
THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR FAILS AND CAUSES THE CAR TO TURN THE STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL OFF, AND REDUCING THE ENGINE POWER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 40 AND THE ENGINE REPEATEDLY REVS UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN. *TR
THERE IS AN OVERWHELMING SMELL OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO TAKING THE VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP YOU WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE KEY OVER A COUPLE TIMES TO PRIME THE LINE BEFORE IT WOULD START. I WAS TOLD THERE IS A GAS LEAK DUE TO FAULTY FUEL LINES. GM DOES NOT MAKE THE REPLACEMENT LINES SEPARATELY SO THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP MOST BE REPLACED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND A MANUFACTURING DEFECT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR, UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS NO RECALL SO I WILL BE PAYING FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. *TR
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX SMELLING LIKE GAS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, NO NOTICEABLE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG SENSORS AND THE DEALER NOTED THE SMELL OF GAS, I HAVE NO WARRANTY AND CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS A DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE COVERED BY GMC. IS GM GOING TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE'S EQUINOX GOES UP IN FLAMES FOR THEM TO ADMIT IT IS A DEFECT. AND THEY CALLED ME TO TRADE IT IN FOR ANOTHER ONE, NOT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT MOLD HAD DEVELOPED INSIDE OF THE CABIN AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,951.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEALS FOR THE HEAD LIGHTS FAILED, ALLOWING WATER TO PENETRATE THE HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND CAUSE THE LIGHTS TO CONTINUOUSLY BURN OUT. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
NOTICED STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE AFTER DRIVING. THE SMELL LINGERED FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. BROUGHT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK. ALSO FUEL SENSOR INDICATED GAS TANK WAS 1/2 FULL, BUT DEALER STATED TANK WAS FULL. VEHICLE HAS 67000 MILES ON IT. DEALER IS REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENSOR UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE RESULTED FROM THIS, BUT I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SERIOUS HAZARD AS LEAKING FUEL/FUMES COULD HAVE SPARKED AN EXPLOSION. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. IN SEPTEMBER 2010, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VALVE STEM HAD BROKEN OFF. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE VALVE STEM HAD ALSO BROKEN OFF. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE VALVE STEMS TO BREAK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
THE AWD ON MY 2007 EQUINOX HAS BEEN EXCEPTIONALLY LOUD EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I JUST FIGURED IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT AND DIDN'T WORRY ABOUT IT SINCE IT CAME ON WHENEVER WE HAD A HEAVY RAIN. THIS PAST WINTER, I GO STUCK IN A SNOWSTORM AND MY AWD NEVER CAME ON, WHICH LED TO ME LOSING CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. LUCKILY, I DIDN'T CRASH BUT HATED THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE SINCE I HAD MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN WITH ME. ANYWAY, OVER THE WEEKEND (9/10/2010), MY STABILITRAK SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. SINCE I WAS ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION, I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME THE MAIN COMPUTER (BCM) NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS COMPUTER IS THE REASON WHY MY AWD DOESN'T OPERATE PROPERLY AND THE REASON WHY MY KEY CANNOT BE PULLED OUT OF THE IGNITION. *TR
MY HUSBAND HAD HIT A BUZZARD IN FEBRUARY 2010 ON A COUNTY PAVED ROAD WHICH TORE SOME OF THE GRIDDLE ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THEN ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2010 I WAS GOING TO THE STORE AND THE CAR GOT HOT STARTED TO DIE WHICH THE COMPUTER TOLD ME TO STOP, TURN OFF A/C AND IDLE THE CAR, ALLOWING IT TO COOL DOWN. AFTER 15 MINS I PROCEEDED TO RETURN HOME AND THE SUV GOT EXTREME HOT, STARTED TO DIE. CALLED MY HUSBAND AND HE TOLD ME TO LEAVE IT THERE. HE PULL THE 2007 EQUINOX TO OUR HOME AND LOOK FOR REASON FOR SUV TO GET HOT. WE CALLED THE DEALER SINCE THE SUV WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND TOWED IT TO THE DEALER. SEVERAL DAYS LATER WE WAS TOLD THAT A PIECE OF GRIDDLE HAD RUBBED A HOLE INTO RADIATOR AND ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACE. STATED THAT THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SO WE CONTACTED OUR INSURANCE AGENCY. AT FIRST INS AGENCY WAS NOT GOING TO COVER THE DAMAGES BUT WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE RECEIPTS ON EVERY MAINTENANCE DONE WHICH THE LAST OIL CHANGE WAS AUGUST, 2010, 30 DAYS BEFORE THIS PROBLEM. THERE WERE NEVER NO PUNCTURE HOLES IN RADIATOR NO OVERHEATING NO SIGNALS AT ALL. AFTER REPAIRS, THE INVOICE STATED THAT "SWAY BAR PLASTIC TRIM RUBBED HOLE INTO RADIATOR." ALSO WE WAS ASK BY THE DEALERSHIP IF WE WANT THE SWAY BAR REPAIR SINCE IT WAS IN NEEDED FOR REPAIRS. TWO WEEKS AGO WE DISCOVERED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT IS BROKE. THE SUV HAVE BEEN POPPING WHEN BACKING UP OR TURNING SINCE WE GOT THE SUV REPAIRED IN SEPTEMBER 2010. WE DID CALLED GMC AFTER READING THEIR WARRANTY COVERAGE 100,000 MILES OR 5 YEARS THAT STATED THAT THESE DEFECTS WAS COVER UNDER THIS WARRANTY. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE RADIATOR WAS NOT PART OF THE WARRANTY NOR WAS THE SWAY BAR; ONLY THE ENGINE. WE WOULD LIKE FOR SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO US WHY THE RADIATOR WOULD NOT BE COVER UNDER THIS WARRANTY SINCE THE ENGINE CAN NOT FUNCTION WITHOUT THE RADIATOR TO KEEP THE ENGINE COOL AND IF THE RADIATOR IS NOT NEEDED THEN WHY IS IT ON THE VEHICLE? WHAT IS COVERED UNDER GMC'S BEST EVER WARRANTY? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE WHETHER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED OR NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
IN JULY OF 2010, I NOTICED THE SOUND OF LIQUID COMING FROM THE BACK THAT WASN'T NORMAL. I JUST ASSUMED AT THIS POINT THAT IT WAS MY GAS AND I JUST NEVER PAID ATTENTION TO IT...I HAD CONVINCED MYSELF OF THAT BECAUSE I KNEW WE DIDN'T HAVE DRINKS OR ANYTHING IN THE CAR. IN DECEMBER, MY HUSBAND ACCUSED ME OF HAVING A MILK CUP IN THE CAR FROM MY SON. NOTHING THERE, NO FOOD OR DRINKS, ETC. AS WE WERE LOOKING FOR WHATEVER WAS CAUSING THIS TERRIBLE SMELL THAT SMELLED LIKE A MILK CUP HAD SIT IN 100 DEGREE TEMPERATURE IN MY CAR, WE NOTICED THE CARPET WAS WET. THE SMELL WAS SO BAD THAT WE HAD TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN AND IN JANUARY WHERE WE LIVE IT IS 10 TO 40 DEGREES, SO EITHER TEMPERATURE...NOT WARM ENOUGH FOR WINDOWS DOWN. I WAS THEN ACCUSED OF SPILLING THE MILK...CRAZY! I KNEW I HAD NOT! I GOT TO READING ONLINE AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE LEAK IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL. MY HUSBAND FELT SO BAD BECAUSE I DID NOT DO IT! THE WATER WAS STANDING IN MY SPARE TIRE WELL AND LEAKING OUT INTO THE WHOLE BACK FLOORBOARD! SOAKING WET! THAT EXPLAINED WHY EVERY TIME WE RODE THE CAR WE GOT SICK...LITERALLY SICK. FROM UPSET STOMACHS, TO STUFFY NOSES, TO BURNING EYES AND NOSES, ETC...NO KIDDING! MILDEW OR MOLD...IT DOESN'T MATTER! NEITHER ARE GOOD. GM SAYS THEY WON'T PAY FOR OR EVEN LOOK AT FOR FREE. JUST TO HAVE DIAGNOSED IS $80.00 NOT INCLUDING THE REPAIR! THEY SAY I COULD HAVE LEFT THE LIFTGATE OPEN WHEN IT RAINED...OH COME ON!!!!!!!! JUST OWN UP TO IT AND FIX YOUR PROBLEMS! IF THAT WERE THE CASE I WOULDN'T HAVE LEFT IT THERE FOR 6-8 MONTHS!!!! I WOULD HAVE SUCKED IT UP WITH A SHOP VAC AT LEAST BEFORE IT FLOODED MY CAR AND MADE US ALL SICK! 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX AIRBAG SENSOR, THE RIGHT AIR BAG LIGHT ONLY COMES ON HALF OF THE TIME. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE IN FOUR TIMES SO FAR AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK, GM REP SAYS THEY WILL NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNLESS IT SHOWS ERROR CODES. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE HEADLIGHTS IN THIS CAR AT LEAST 7 TIMES TO DATE. SINCE THE CAR WAS ABOUT A YEAR OLD, THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A HEAVY BUILD-UP OF CONDENSATION INSIDE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY....WHICH IS VERY POORLY DESIGNED. I DISCOVERED A SMELL OF FUEL FROM MY VEHICLE. HAD VEHICLE INSPECTED ON 3/25/10 AND FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL TANK IS LEAKING DUE TO FAULTY MANUFACTURING. THE VEHICLE IS A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX LT. IT IS JUST BEYOND WARRANTY AND NO EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS PURCHASED. THE FUEL LEAK IS BENEATH THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT. THERE IS NO WEAR AND TEAR TO THIS AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THIS AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN A COLLISION. THE LEAK IS DUE TO POOR MANUFACTURING OF THIS PART. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY INJURY OR FIRE YET. BUT THE POTENTIAL EXISTS.
I HAVE THE 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX WHICH BEEN A LEMON SINCE NEW. AMONG THE MANY BREAKDOWNS OVER THE THREE YEARS THE DRIVER SIDE POWER LOCK DOES NOT WORK AND THE MOST GLARING IS THE SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR. MY WIFE WAS PUTTING AIR IN THE TIRE AND THE BATTERY FAILED. THE BATTERY NEEDED A SUDDEN RECHARGE. WHY PAY ON A VEHICLE WITH CONSTANT BREAKDOWNS. THE REPAIRS ALONE ON THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR ARE OVER 700 DOLLARS TO ALSO GET THE STABILITRAK LIGHT OFF. THE RECALL OF THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR ON THE CHEVROLET COBALT NEEDS TO EXTEND TO THE CHEVROLET EQUINOX AS WELL. NOW WITH NO MONEY TO FIX THE MOTOR, THE DRIVING HAS AND IS AN ADVENTURE WITH NO POWER STEERING. EVEN IF I COULD FIX THE VEHICLE MYSELF, THE PART IS VIRTUALLY UNAVAILABLE.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WERE I STRUCK TWO HORSES THAT RUN OUT INTO THE HIGHWAY IN FRONT OF ME IN MY 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX LSI. THE FIRST HORSE STRUCK MY PASSENGERSIDE FRONT QUARTER PANEL AND THIS CAUSED ME TO SWERVE INTO ANOTHER HORSE ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH AND THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS VERY SERIOUS AND MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED DURING THE CRASH. I KNOW THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE SET OF BY SPECIFIC SPEEDS AND DAMAGE BUT MY WHOLE FRONT OF MY 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX LS WAS NEARLY REMOVED. I WAS WEARING MY SAFETY BELT AND IT OFFERED LITTLE HELP SINCE I WAS HIT TWICE FROM OPPOSITE SIDES. I WAS TOLD BY RESPONDING EMERGENCY CREW THAT THE AIRBAG MUST HAVE BEEN FAULTY SINCE IT DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2009 AND HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES, RECURRING FREQUENTLY. THE 2 MAIN CONCERNS ARE STUCK KEY IN IGNITION AND STABILITRACK AND ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS. THERE IS A DEFINITE ISSUE WITH THE IGNITION IN THESE VEHICLES, NOT ONLY DOES MY KEY GET STUCK, IT HAS ALSO BEEN KNOCKED OUT WHEN HITTING A BUMP. I OWN A COBALT TOO THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED AND MY EQUINOX HAS THE SAME ISSUES WITH IGNITION THIS IS DANGEROUS AND FRUSTRATING!! IN ADDITION, MY STABILITRACK HAS BEEN SERVICED TWICE SINCE I HAVE OWNED. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES CRAZY AND LIGHTS UP WITH AIRBAG SERVICE, STABILITRACK SERVICE AND ABS BRAKE WARNINGS. I JUST SPENT 600 ON BRAKES AND ROTORS AND IT STILL LIGHTS UP. THE CAR HAS BEEN CHECKED AND NONE OF THESE WARNINGS ARE ACCURATE. THESE LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF RANDOMLY AND HAVE FOR YEARS. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL ROTATE BACKWARDS. THE OIL INDICATOR THAT TRACKS OIL LIFE RESETS ITSELF AT RANDOM. I AM ANGRY! THESE ISSUES NEED ADDRESSED. ARE WE NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY BECAUSE NO ONE DIED? STABILITRACK ON THE 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX WILL REDUCE THE POWER TO THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE WILL CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES, LEAVING NO BREAKS TO COMPLETELY STOP. I WAS DRIVING OUT TO LUNCH THE FIRST TIME WHEN I APPROACHED A RAILROAD TRACK WHOSE BARRIER WAS COMING DOWN, AS I WAS ONLY GOING 25 MPH, I STARTED SLOWING DOWN. MY ENGINE CUT OUT BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO GO FORWARD. THE BREAKS WOULDN'T WORK AND FINALLY GOT IT TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME (WHO WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BARRIER). TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THEM CLEAN OUT THE AREA AROUND THE THROTTLE SENSOR. APR 08, 2010, I HAD MY CAR DIE ON MY TWICE IN LESS THAN 12 HOURS WHILE DRIVING IT. THE SECOND TIME WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY 4 WAY STOP. LUCKILY, IT CONTINUED TO ROLL UNTIL IT STOPPED A FEW FEET AWAY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. STEERING WAS DIFFICULT ENOUGH WHEN UPSET THAT YOU MIGHT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. NOW THE DEALERSHIP WON'T SEE ME UNTIL MONDAY (THIS IS MY ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION) AND I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO PAY THEM AGAIN TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOLVED LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO! *TR

CURRENTLY MY VEHICLE WILL NOT START. IT SEEMS THAT THE BATTERY IS FINE AS ALL OF THE ELECTRONICS IN THE VEHICLE ARE WORKING, INCLUDING RADIO/DOOR LOCKS. WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED ALL OF THE ELECTRONICS JUST "CLICK" AND THE MOTOR DOES NOTHING. THIS HAPPENED JUST AFTER CHRISTMAS THIS PAST YEAR AS WELL. LUCKILY AT THAT TIME I WAS AT MY PARENTS HOUSE AND THOUGH JUMP STARTING IT WOULD NOT WORK, WE WERE ABLE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS AND THEN IT STARTED. I HAVE ALSO HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH MY RADIO (ACTUALLY ALL SOUND IN THE CAR - INCLUDING TURN SIGNALS) THAT RANDOMLY JUST DONT WORK OR THAT WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED BLAST SOUND FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS BEFORE THE RADIO RETURNS TO NORMAL - BUT THE SIGNALS STILL PRODUCE A WIERD, SOMEWHAT ECHOING SOUND WHEN THEY DO CLICK. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND SEND ME ON MY WAY.
SPARE TIRE WELL UNDER THE FLOOR IN THE REAR OF MY EQUINOX FILLS WITH WATER. THIS MORNING IT HAD MORE THAN TWO INCHES. I DID NOT REALIZE THIS WAS HAPPENING AND I DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT IS COMING FROM. MY NEIGHBOR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS DOES HIS COWORKER (BOTH ARE FLEET VEHICLES). HE JUST TOLD ME ABOUT IT AND I LOOKED IN MINE. HE HAS GOTTEN A NEW COMPANY CAR AS HE WAS GETTING SICK FROM MOLD FROM THE LEAK. *TR
THE CHEVY EQUINOX HAS A HISTORY OF WATER LEAKING INTO THE SPARE TIRE WHEELWELL. MY 2007 EQUINOX IS NO EXCEPTION. IT WAS REPAIRED IN 2009 UNDER WARRANTY. THE REPAIR LASTED FOR A WHILE THEN THE WHEELWELL STARTED FILLING UP WITH WATER AGAIN. LAST SUMMER I WAS USING A WET AND DRY VAC TO TAKE THE WATER OUT, ONLY TO HAVE IT FILL UP LATER ON. GM PUT OUT A MAINTENANCE BULLETIN IN 2009 FOR THIS PROBLEM. THEIR INSTRUCTIONS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS, WHY I DON NOT KNOW. THE WATER CREATES A TERRIBLE SMELL, FOGS UP THE WINDOWS ON THE INSIDE, CREATES ICE ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOWS DURING THE WINTER, CAN CREATE MOLD THROUGHOUT THE CARPETING AND SEATS AND IS JUST A COMPLETE PAIN IN THE ASS TO KEEP DEALING WITH THIS. WHY HAS THERE BEEN NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE? MANY, MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ARE OUT THERE ON THIS PROBLEM WITH NO COVERAGE FROM GM. THIS IS NOT AN OWNER CAUSE. IT IS A MANUFACTURING CAUSE. OWNERS OF THE EQUINOX NEED A RECALL INORDER TO TAKE CARE OF THIS WITHOUT PAYMENTS FROM THE CUSTOMER. CHECK IT OUT AND SEE HOW BIG THIS PROBLEM IS.
