FIRST OFF, I LOVE MY VEHICLE. I BOUGHT IT USED 1/11, HAVE HAD IT LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I'VE ALREADY HAD TO HAVE A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT EARLIER THIS YEAR, AND NOW THIS. UPON PURCHASE, MILEAGE WAS 85K. MILEAGE IS CURRENTLY APPROX 94K. THEREFORE, THESE DAMAGES ARE NOT BY FAULT OF HEAVY DRIVING, ETC... ON FRIDAY, 11/9/12, I DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES FROM MY HOME TO TAKE MY SON TO A JOB INTERVIEW IN A MALL PLAZA. I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED WHILE HE WENT INSIDE. APPROX 20 MINS LATER HE CAME OUT. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT. AS I WAS LEAVING THE MALL PARKING AREA, DRIVING THROUGH THE LOT, ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING. IT "FROZE UP" AND WOULDN'T STEER. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE AND NOT CRASH INTO ANY CARS AROUND ME. I WAS HORRIFIED! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE, EVER! AFTER I REALIZED IT WAS A STEERING ISSUE AND NOTHING INVOLVING THE ENGINE, ETC.. I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO ANOTHER PARKING SPACE(BARELY ABLE TO STEER)TO SIT SAFELY AND WAIT FOR HELP. I FIRST CALLED A FRIEND TO BRING ME POWER STEERING FLUID, THINKING THAT WAS THE ISSUE. BUT, UPON WAITING FOR THEM TO ARRIVE I RESEARCHED AND SAW OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT IT DOES NOT TAKE FLUID, INSTEAD THERE IS A "STEERING MOTOR". I THEN CALLED AAA, NOT KNOWING HOW SAFE/UNSAFE IT WAS FOR ME TO CHANCE DRIVING HOME. I HAD AAA TOW MY VEHICLE TO MY HOME. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY SINCE THEN. I AM A SINGLE PARENT AND IT'S HARD ENOUGH FINANCIALLY TRYING TO MAKE IT DAY TO DAY, LET ALONE ENDURING UNNECESSARY CAR REPAIRS BACK TO BACK ON A VEHICLE I PURCHASED DUE TO THE UPSTANDING REPUTATION OF CHEVY CARS. I AM APPALLED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS APPARENT DEFECT AND NO CARE FROM CHEVY FOR SAFETY OF ITS DRIVERS/OWNERS! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND WANT SOMETHING DONE. ASAP. *TR
AS DOCUMENTED IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAL - CURRENT NOTICES, 2007 EQUINOX HAS A SERIOUS FUEL LEAK PROBLEM FROM THE FUEL PUMP, WHICH, AS GM NOTES, MAY CAUSE A FIRE IF IGNITION SOURCE IS PRESENT. // GM - CHEVY - RECALL ID# 93254 // // GM - CHEVY - SERVICE BULLETIN # 12190 // // NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000 // THE PROBLEM IS, THEY ARE NOT COVERING ALL VEHICLES. MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX IS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE FUEL PUMP - BUT GM/CHEVY IS NOT REPLACING, AS MY VIN IS NOT COVERED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT WE'RE REQUESTING BE FURTHER INVESTIGATED BEFORE A SERIOUS INJURIES OCCUR. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING INTO THIS IMMEDIATELY. *TR
PLASTIC PART ON FUEL PUMP MODULE CRACKED CAUSING FUEL LEAK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SMELL OF GASOLINE FUEL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LATER DISCOVERED A SMALL AMOUNT OF GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: DELIVERY: FUEL PUMP) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
IGNITION KEY WILL NOT COME OUT ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND PUT INTO PARK. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM AND NO-ONE CAN TELL IF THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE OF THE KEY CYLINDER OR BECAUSE OF GEAR SHIFT NOT PROPERLY GOING INTO PARK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE NOTICED THE SMELL OF GASOLINE FUEL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN HIS DRIVEWAY. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, HE DISCOVERED THAT GASOLINE FUEL WAS LEAKING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP) AND CONTACTED THE DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,400. UPDATED 12/14/12*LJ
THIS IN REGARDS TO GM RECALL 12190. GM SENT ME A NOTICE THAT A CRACK FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS POSSIBLE FOR MY CAR. I HAD THAT PROBLEM A YEAR EARLIER THAN THE NOTICE AND PAID A GM DEALER ALMOST $1000.00 TO REPAIR. IN THE RECALL NOTICE SENT BY GM, THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE FOR MY CAR. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 8 MONTHS SINCE THAT NOTICE, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFY, CALLS TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE ADVISE ME THAT THEY DO KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE, NOR ARE THEY CONCERNED OR OBLIGATED TO MAKE THE PART(S) AVAILABLE, THIS THIS COMPLAINT. *TR
THE CAR LEAKS WITH WATER WHEN RAIN DUE TO IMPROPER SEALING AROUND ROOF OF CAR ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE FLOODS WITH WATER WHEN RAINING OR GOING THROUGH CAR WASH. WATER RUNS DOWN THROUGH MOLDEN OF DOORS ONTO FLOOR UNDERNEATH BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL. *TR
I STARTED NOTICING A VERY STRONG GASOLINE ODOR INSIDE AND OUTSIDE MY CAR. EVEN AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT, I COULD STILL SMELL GASOLINE OUTSIDE NEAR THE BACK OF THE CAR. I RESEARCHED THE SYMPTOMS ONLINE, AND DISCOVERED THAT GM HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE SAME EXACT MODEL OF CAR WITH THE SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS. THE RECALL IS FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP. HOWEVER, THE RECALL IS ONLY BEING ISSUED IN A FEW STATES, NOT INCLUDING PENNSYLVANIA, WHERE I LIVE. I CONTACTED GM ABOUT THE PROBLEM, AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AND MY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. GM SUGGESTED I TAKE THE CAR TO A GM DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO STATED THAT THEY DISCUSSED THE PROBLEM WITH GM AND THEY OFFERED TO SPLIT THE COST 50/50 WITH ME. WITH THE 50% DISCOUNT, THE COST TO ME IS STILL NEARLY $500.00. THIS RESOLUTION IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME. IF GM KNOWS THERE IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP IN THEIR CARS, THEN THE RECALL SHOULD COVER THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, NOT JUST SPECIFIC AREAS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE SMELLED GASOLINE BEING EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS PARKED. THE CONTACT INSPECTED AND DISCOVERED A GASOLINE FUEL LEAKAGE COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHERE THE MECHANIC ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
STARTED SMELLING GAS IN THE GARAGE, THOUGH IT WAS LAWN MOWER, REMOVED IT, STILL SMELLED, PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE, SMELLED AROUND GAS TANK, AND CAUSED ME HEADACHES AND STARTED COMING INTO THE HOUSE. CAR ALSO STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS TURNING OVER (PROBABLY DUE TO GAS NOT GETTING TO ENGINE SO WELL). STARTED PARKING OUTSIDE AND CHECKING YOUR SITE FOR RECALL SINCE I HEARD ONE WAS OUT THERE FOR 2007 EQUINOX, BUT IT ENDED UP MY VIN # AND STATE ARE NOT INCLUDED. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY SET UP APPT. ON 10/29/12 TO EVALUATE AND I TOOK IT IN TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE EXACT ISSUE ON NHTSA CAMP. #12V459000 LISTED ON THIS SITE - WHICH WAS A CRACKED FUEL PUMP MODULE. GM CONTACTED LOCAL CHEVY DEALER FARRELL CHEVEROLET AND THEY WORKED OUT A 50% DISCOUNT ON THE REPAIR. I TOLD THE LADY AT GM THAT I WOULD ALSO ISSUE THIS COMPLAINT SO THAT ALL EQUINOX VEHICLES IN 2007 MIGHT GET INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, SINCE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND POSSIBLY I COULD GET THE REST OF MY CHARGES RETURNED IF INCLUDED. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD HAVE TURNED OUT WORSE IF MY HOUSE BURNED DOWN OR SOMETHING. *TR
HAVE A 2007 EQUINOX WITH FUEL LEAK AT TOP OF FUEL TANK. DEALER SAYS SAME ISSUE AS THE ONES WITH THE RECALL NOTICE, YET MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE LIST. DEALER SAYS $1300 TO REPAIR UNLESS I RECEIVE RECALL NOTICE, BUT IT PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAPPEN. DEALER ALSO STATED HAVE SEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES WITH SAME ISSUE AND NOT ON RECALL LIST. IF SO MANY VEHICLES HAVE SAME DEFECT, THEN WHY ARE THEY NOT ALL BEING RECALLED? DOES THERE HAVE TO BE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION OR FATALITY BEFORE SOMETHING GENERAL MOTORS DOES SOMETHING? *TR

AFTER INSPECTING THE FUEL TANK THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSE THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: DELIVERY: FUEL PUMP) THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
BEGAN SMELLING STRONG FUEL SMELL ON PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND WAS INFORMED THE FUEL FEED LINE WAS CRACKED AND HAD CAUSED A FUEL LEAK. FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR CHEVROLET EQUINOX 2007 MODELS HAVE A CURRENT RECALL (ID 12V459000) THAT WAS ISSUED IN SEPTEMBER 2012 FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE; HOWEVER THE RECALL DOESN'T INCLUDE GEORGIA. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF THIS REPAIR UNDER THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO ALL STATES. THIS IS A COSTLY REPAIR AND SHOULD BE COVERED SINCE IT IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT THAT THEY HAVE ALREADY CLAIMED RESPONSIBILITY FOR IN OTHER STATES.
OUR 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX DEVELOPED A FUEL LEAK FROM THE FUEL PUMP CAUSING A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN PARKED. WE HEARD ON THE NEWS THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2007 EQUINOX FOR DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMPS THAT LEAKED. WE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY INFORMED US THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. WE PAID FOR THE REPAIRS OURSELVES. IS THERE ANY WAY THAT WE CAN BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR COSTS? WE CURRENTLY HAVE THE DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP. *TR
MY 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX I HAVEN'T HAD IT A YEAR AND FUEL PUMP SYSTEM IS DRY ROTTEN AND LEAKING FUEL WAS CLOSE TO CATCHING ON FIRE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THEY TELLING ME AT THE DEALERSHIP IT'S NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE NO WARRANTY I WILL HAVE TO PAY $2000 TO HAVE MY VEHICLE FIX ALSO MY CHILD ALWAYS COMPLAINT OF FEELING SICK WHEN SHE RIDE INSIDE THE CAR NOW I KNOW WHAT CAUSE HER TO FEEL SICK I BROUGHT TO THE PEDIATRICIAN AND WILL HAVE MY ATTORNEY TO GET INVOLVED TO HAVE THESE MATTER RESOLVED. *TR
AS I WAS BACKING OUT THE DRIVEWAY I CAN SMELL GAS BEFORE I COULD TAKE OFF I SAW A HUGE LINE OF GAS MY HUSBAND THEN CHECKED IT AND THERE WAS A CRACK/LEAK JUST EARLIER TODAY I CHECKED ONLINE AND COME TO FIND OUT THEREOUT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ONE OF THEM I FIND THIS VERY UNFAIR I AM A MOTHER OF 3 AND I WANT MY CAR FIXED PLEASE FUEL PUMPS ARE EXPENSIVE. *TR
A FUEL LEAK IN THE AREA OF THE FUEL TANK WAS DETECTED. AT FIRST IT WAS THOUGHT THAT THE TANK HAD CRACKED, BUT AFTER THE FUEL TANK WAS DROPPED A CRACKED PLASTIC SUPPLY LINE LEADING INTO THE FUEL PUMP WAS FOUND. I HAD THE MODULE REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE. AFTER THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED I HEARD OF A RECALL ISSUED BY GM FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM, BUT WHEN I CONTACTED THEM THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL WAS SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS THAT WERE LOCATED IN THE STATES OF ARIZONA, NEVADA AND TEXAS AND AS MY VEHICLE IS REGISTERED IN NY THIS RECALL DOES NOT COVER MY VEHICLE. HOW CAN A SAFETY RECALL BE ISSUED FOR A SPECIFIC PROBLEM AND NOT COVER ALL VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE RISK OF FIRE FROM MY LEAKY FUEL PUMP WAS THE SAME AS THE CARS LOCATED IN THOSE OTHER STATES. THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO ME. A SAFETY DEFECT IS A SAFETY DEFECT, NO MATTER WHAT STATE A CAR IS IN AND SHOULD APPLY TO ALL VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE SAME DEFECT.. GM'S REFUSAL TO REMEDY THIS IS UNCONSCIONABLE AND DOES NOTHING TO ENHANCE THERE REPUTATION OF BUILDING QUALITY CARS AND STANDING BEHIND THEM. *TR

THE CONSUMER STATED SHE [AY FOR THE REPAIRS PRIOR TO LEARNING ABOUT THE RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED GM DID REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE, THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH HER VEHICLE, IN WHICH A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR HER MODELS AS WELL AS OTHERS. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE [AY FOR THE REPAIRS PRIOR TO LEARNING ABOUT THE RECALL. HOWEVER, GM INFORMED THE CONSUMER, HER VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
AFTER SMELLING A VERY STRONG ODOR OF GAS FOR ABOUT A MONTH, IT BECAME SO STRONG THAT I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE MGR. INFORMED ME THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE DROPPING THE GAS TANK TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. SINCE THERE WAS A STRONG CHANCE OF FIRE, I DECIDED TO HAVE THE WORK DONE. IT WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, $1200, WHICH I HAD TO BORROW IN ORDER TO AFFORD THIS REPAIR. THE SERVICE MGR. EVEN SHOWED ME THE CRACKED PIECE OF PLASTIC FROM INSIDE THE FUEL PUMP. UPON RETURNING HOME THAT EVENING, I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE A NEWS STORY ON TV ABOUT A RECALL MADE BY CHEVROLET FOR THE VERY PROBLEM I HAD JUST HAD. AND THEN THE UNBELIEVABLE NEWS THAT THEY WOULD RECALL ONLY CERTAIN "WARM WEATHER" STATES. I LIVE IN VIRGINIA, WHICH WAS NOT INCLUDED, BUT IT GETS HOT HERE TOO. I AM APPALLED THAT THE RECALL WASN'T SENT TO EVERY OWNER THAT MIGHT BE AFFECTED BY THIS OBVIOUS DEFECT. AND AFTER READING MANY FORUMS ON THE INTERNET, I REALIZE THE PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD, NOT JUST THE FEW "WARM WEATHER" STATES. I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF CHEVROLET FOR MANY YEARS, BUT MY FAITH IN THEIR COMPANY HAS BEEN SHATTERED. I HAVE REPEATEDLY CALLED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE LINE AND WAS GIVEN AN INCIDENT NUMBER TO REFLECT THAT I HAD CONTACTED THEM. I EVEN WENT TO MY DEALER AND SINCE THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING OTHER THAN A MEMO, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. NOW IT IS APRIL AND STILL NO SIGN OF EVER BEING CONTACTED BY CHEVROLET ABOUT THIS RECALL. I REALLY NEED THAT MONEY BACK AND AM VERY ANGRY WITH THE WHOLE SITUATION!!!!! *TR
SPEEDOMETER WENT FROM 40 TO 120 MILES AN HOUR. AND TACK WAS STUCK AT 1 1/2 MARK. COULD NOT TELL WHAT SPEED I WAS ACTUALLY GOING. ON A 2007 EQUINOX LS. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE ISSUE AND NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: DELIVERY: FUEL PUMP). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
I KEPT SMELLING GAS WHEN I WOULD GET OUT OF MY CAR. AFTER A WEEK OF THE SMELL, I HAD THE CAR CHECKED OUT. THE GARAGE MECHANIC CHECKED AND SAID THERE WAS A LEAK COMING FROM OVER THE GAS TANK AND IT WAS LEAKING DOWN UNDERNEATH MY CAR AND IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS. HE SAID A SPARK COULD HAVE IGNITED THE GAS AND CAUSED A DANGEROUS FIRE. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED BY THE GARAGE BY REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP MODULE (PARTS AND LABOR $674.99). *TR
I STARTED SMELLING GAS WHEN I STOPPED THE CAR. THERE WAS A GAS LEAK. I TOOK IT TO THE GARAGE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT COULD HAVE SET THE WHOLE CAR ON FIRE, DUE TO THE LEAK AND TRAIL OF GAS GOING UP INTO THE CAR. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND A SPARK HAD HIT THE GAS LEAK, WE COULD HAVE BEEN SET ON FIRE. I CALLED THE CHEVROLET COMPANY AND THEY SAID THAT IF I DIDN'T HAVE MY CAR REGISTERED IN A CERTAIN STATE THAT THE RECALL THEY HAD IN PLACE WOULD NOT AFFECT MY CAR. IF IT IS A FAULTY PART, WHY DOES IT MATTER WHERE THE CAR IS REGISTERED, IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE, THERE IS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
VERY STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE FUMES COMING FROM RIGHT REAR OF VEHICLE. DISCOVERED A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE DIRECTLY UNDER THE GAS TANK- THE FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM ABOVE AND DRIPPING ALONG THE SIDE OF THE TANK. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR SERVICE AND THEY FOUND THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS LEAKING. FUEL PUMP/HOSE ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AT NO COST. CLEARLY A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR FIRE. WITH TWO YOUNG CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN THIS CAR I FIND IT VERY CONCERNING THAT THERE ARE SO MANY SIMILAR FUEL LEAK COMPLAINTS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. *TR
