TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. DURING AN OIL CHANGE, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS RUSTED OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROCKET CHEVROLET (567-275-0023, LOCATED AT 233 MANSFIELD AVE, SHELBY, OH 44875) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS RUSTED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED, BUT NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,000. *BF
2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ENGINE INJECTORS ISSUE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE INJECTORS WERE REPLACED IN 2010, AND NOW THEN NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY DENVER, COLORADO TRAFFIC LATE AFTERNOON HOURS OF 07/18/2014, MY 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD, DURAMAX LLY HAD A "SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION OF ENGINE POWER". GM WAS AWARE OF THIS AS EARLY AS AUGUST 17, 2009, AS PER THEIR BULLETIN # 09-06-04-034. THIS BULLETIN STATES THIS MAY BE CAUSED BY THE FUEL INJECTOR WIRE HARNESS RUBBING AGAINST THE BRACKET AND CHAFING THE WIRE INSULATION. THIS OCCURRED ON MY VEHICLE CAUSING ONE WIRE TO SHORT AGAINST THE BRACKET. THIS IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN THE AFFECTED CYLINDER BANK RESULTING IN AN IMMEDIATE REDUCTION OF ENGINE POWER. I FEEL THIS COULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAVE SENT THREE EMAILS TO [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
I WAS REPLACING TWO BAD O2 SENSORS AND FELT SOMETHING WET ON MY FINGERS, THAT SMELLED LIKE GAS. WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK TO MOVE IT I NOTICE A DRIP TRAIL OFF GAS. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY MECHANIC AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE GAS LINES WERE RUSTED/ROTTED THROUGH AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE GAS LINES OR BRAKE LINES ON ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL. I THINK THESE GAS LINES AND THE BRAKE LINES I REPORTED EARLIER WERE MADE OF INFERIOR MATERIAL. I DO FEEL EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THAT I DID NOT CRASH OR CATCH ON FIRE. *TR
THE STEEL FUEL LINE IS LEAKING. MY MECHANIC SAYS THAT THE FUEL LINE RUSTED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEIR PROBLEM NOW IS THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SNAKE THE NEW FUEL LINE THROUGH THE BODY. IT APPEARS THAT THE FUEL LINE WAS INSTALLED BEFORE THE BODY AND THE TRUCK IS NOT DESIGNED FOR ITS REPLACEMENT. *TR
WHILE LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY I WENT TO STOP , PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR,CAR ALMOST HAD ACCIDENT WITH ONCOMING SNOW PLOW TRUCK. EVEN THOUGH VEHICLE HAS LOW MILEAGE DEALER SAID WARRANTY WAS UP. FRONT BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED THROUGH. HAD THEM REPLACED. JUST RECENTLY I CHECKED UNDER VEHICLE & IT APPEARS THE SAME IS HAPPENING TO THE REAR BRAKE LINES & FUEL LINES. ROSSI CHEV. WHILE TRAVELING TO WORK I ATTEMPTED TO STOP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO STOP BY USING ONLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE BUT ONLY AFTER APPROX. 100 FEET. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK HOME BY USING FOUR WHEEL LOW AND ALLOWING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION TO KEEP ME AT A SAFE SPEED. I THEN CONTACTED MY MECHANIC WHO LIVES RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD AND HE CAME UP AND LOOKED AT THE TRUCK. HE TOLD ME THE BRAKE LINE HAD RUPTURED AND ADDITIONALLY ALL THE BRAKE LINES SHOULD BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE FUEL LINE THAT APPEARS TO BE BADLY CORRODED. I THEN CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVE HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE BRAKE LINES ON THESE TRUCKS AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP ME. I THEN LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF ISSUES WITH THESE TRUCKS AND THE NTSB WAS LOOKING INTO A RECALL . *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM ERRAND RUNNING AND FOUND THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. FOUND A PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID UNDER THE TRUCK NEAR THE BACK OF THE CAB AND BED OF TRUCK. CALLED MY SERVICE PERSON AND HE SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A RUPTURED BRAKE LINE, AND FROM THE DESCRIPTION OF WHERE THE PUDDLE WAS IT WAS PROBABLY ABOVE THE GAS TANK WHERE THE LINE IS SECURED TO THE FRAME. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE HAS REPAIRED MULTIPLE CHEVY TRUCKS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE SEEN THE UNDERSIDE OF MY TRUCK AND ALL THE LINES ARE RUSTED, INCLUDING FUEL AND TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES. *TR

I WAS NOTIFIED BY A GM SERVICE CENTER THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE VERY RUSTY AND NEEDED REPLACING.. WHILE REPLACING THE BRAKE LINES, I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE LEAKING, NEEDING REPLACEMENT AND ALSO THE FUEL SENDER UNIT NEEDED REPLACING DUE TO CORROSION. THIS WAS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM ON MANY GM TRUCKS. I THINK I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THESE REPAIRS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER ENGINE STARTUP, WHITE SMOKE AND HEAVY FUMES EMITTED FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 208,163.
I WAS TRAVELING ON A SIDE ROAD AFTER LEAVING MY HOME AND AS I APPROACHED THE STOP SIGN AT THE INTERSECTION OF A MAIN ROAD I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDDLE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I ACTUALLY WENT RIGHT THROUGH THE STOP SIGN AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR TRAVELING ON THE MAIN ROAD. ON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE I FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINES THAT TRAVEL FROM UNDER THE HOOD ALONG THE FRAME TO THE ANTI-LOCK MODULE ARE ALL SEVERELY RUSTED AND ONE HAD A HOLE IN IT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND GM NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I AM VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THERE WERE LITTLE KIDS IN THE CAR I ALMOST HIT AND I WOULD HATE TO THINK OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LINES IN THE SAME AREA ARE ALSO VERY ROTTED. THIS DOESN'T USUALLY HAPPEN UNLESS THE VEHICLE IS MUCH OLDER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THEY RECEIVED A LETTER APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR AGO FROM THE MANUFACTURER STATING THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO SEVEN YEARS AND 70,000 MILES. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED NOT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN UNDER THE WARRANTY UNLESS THE FUEL GAUGE HAD COMPLETELY FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER HAD BEEN STUCK AT 120 MPH. LATER, THE SPEEDOMETER INDEPENDENTLY DROPPED BELOW ZERO AND REMAINED STUCK THERE. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE RPM GAUGE WOULD FLUCTUATE SPORADICALLY BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESPOND. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FAILURES WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 117,000. UPDATED 7/18/12 *CN
LEAVING MY PROPERTY I STOPPED TO CLOSE GATE. I SMELLED GAS, LOOKED UNDER AT FUEL TANK AND FUEL LINE WAS SPRAYING FUEL ONTO MUFFLER. I REMOVED TRUCK BED AND FOUND ANIMAL (SQUIRREL) HAD CHEWED HOLE IN PLASTIC PRESSURE FUEL LINE AT TANK CONNECTION. PLASTIC NOT APPROPRIATE FOR HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE. I HAVE PICTURES OF DAMAGED LINE. *TR
VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH BAD FUEL INJECTORS. SYMPTOMS INCLUDE EXCESSIVE SMOKE AND SMOG TEST FAILURE. MANUFACTURER HAS A 7 YEAR/200,000 MILE WARRANTY ON INJECTORS. MY VEHICLE HAS 121,000 MILES BUT WAS PLACED IN SERVICE 12/2003. MASSIVELY COMMON PROBLEM ON ALL DURAMAX DIESELS. MANUFACTURER ONLY WARRANTIES THE REPAIRED VEHICLES FOR 12 MONTHS OR 12,000 MILES. *TT
CHEVY SILVERADO 3500 DURAMAX DIESEL, HAS A CRACKED FUEL FILTER HOUSING, CONTACTED CHEVY/GM CUSTOMER CARE REGARDING THIS PROBLEM AND EVEN GAVE THEM A TSB THAT I FOUND ON WEBSITE AND INFORMED THEM OF MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS. THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING AT THEIR, WHEN I TOOK VEHICLE IN TO BE CHECKED OUT IT STATES THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED AND COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD AS FUEL CAN LEAK INTO HOUSING AND CATCH FIRE. I TOLD THE CUSTOMER CARE AGENT OF MY CONCERN ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT GM/CHEVY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT! I HAVE HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER SIX MONTHS AND GM REFUSES TO ASSIST ME WITH MOST OF MY CONCERNS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BULB THREE DIFFERENT TIMES BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE HEADLIGHT WIRES WERE MELTED AND THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
