THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT IN MY 2004 SILVERADO 1500. I LOST CONTROL AND HIT A TREE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED THE TRUCK A TOTAL LOSS. I KEPT THE TRUCK AND REPAIRED ALL DAMAGE. THE SERVICE SIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON. IT WAS NOT ON BEFORE THE WRECK. IT WAS ABOUT THE THIRD TIME CRANKING THE TRUCK BEFORE THE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE DASH. I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. WE HAD AN AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC CHECK IT OUT WITH AN AUTO SCANNER. IT SHOWED THE BOX THAT TELLS THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT SENT SIGNAL FOR AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY BUT THEY DID NOT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET 1500 TRUCK 4WD. THE CONTACT STATED THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO OPERATE ON THE VEHICLE. HE TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY DID SOMETHING TO FIX THE MODULE AT A COST OF 450.OO DOLLARS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIR FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR A WHILE BUT NOW THE FAILURE IS OCCURRING AGAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 65,000 MILES AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 70,000.
LIGHT BULB SOCKETS ALLOW SLIP-IN TYPE BULBS TO SLIP OUT . GM HAS NOT RECALLED THESE SOCKETS, HOWEVER THEY HAVE IMPROVED THE CURRENT DESIGN SO AS TO HOLD THE BULBS MORE SECURELY. THE TURN SIGNALS, STOP LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS ,AS WELL AS THE HEADLIGHTS ARE AFFECTED BY THIS DEFICIENCY. *TR

EVERYTIME I DRIVE MY TRUCK AT NIGHT (WHICH IS ALOT IN THE WINTERTIME IN ALASKA WHEN WE HAVE REDUCED DAYLIGHT HOURS) THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR IS SO BRIGHT THAT I HAVE HAD TO COVER IT TO REDUCE THE GLARE AND NOT LIMIT MY VISIBILITY OF ONCOMING VEHICLES, MOOSE, PEDESTRIANS, ETC. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT HE HAS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH MALFUNCTIONING HEADLIGHTS. HE STATES THAT THE HEAD LAMPS BULBS ARE SO DIM THAT YOU CANNOT SEE IN FRONT OF YOU AT NIGHT. HE SAID THE LIGHT BULB DO NOT SPREAD SO THAT YOU CAN SEE BEFORE YOU REACH THE AREA YOU ARE APPROACHING. PLEASE HELP, BECAUSE THIS IS A HAZARD, NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE GOING AT NIGHT. *NM *SC

THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR ILLUMINATES TOO BRIGHTLY BACK TO THE DRIVERS EYES AND CAUSES UNNECESSARY PERIPHERY EYE STRAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND AN INCONVEINENCE TO THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN HIGH BEAM OPERATION IS NEEDED FOR SAFE ROAD VISIBLITY.*AK

THE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL ON BOTH HIGH AND LOW BEAM SHARE THE SAME SCREW FOR ADJUSTMEN. ALONG THE SIDES OF THE VEHICLES THERE ARE SHADOWS THAT MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE IN CERTAIN AREAS AT NIGHT. *TC
