WE WERE DRIVING AND STARTED RUNNING REALLY ROUGH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT SAID REDUCED ENGINE POWER TOOK IT TO A SHOP THEY SAID IT WAS SOME WIRING THEY REPLACE THE WIRING ABOUT A MONTH LATER I WAS PARKED AT HOME STARTED THE TRUCK AND IT WAS DURING THIS SAME THING ANGELITE I JUST TURNED ON RUNNING ROUGH SAID LOW ENGINE POWER I TOOK IT BACK TO THE PLACE WE HAD TO WORK DONE THEY SAID A WIRE JIGGLED LOOSE AND THEY SCREWED IT BACK IN SAID I WAS GOOD TO GO LAST WEEK I WAS TAKING MY TRUCK TO GET IT INSPECTED WAS FINE ALL THE WAY TO TOWN PARKED IT AT THE SHOP GO IN AND TELL THEM I NEED INSPECTION THEY COME OUT START THE TRUCK SAME SCENARIO AS BEFORE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON LOW ENGINE POWER RUNNING ROUGH COULDN'T GET IT INSPECTED THEY PUT THE CODE DEVICE ON IT AND IT SAID THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HARNESS SOMETHING LIKE THAT
THE REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY IS BREAKING OUT OF THESE PICKUP TRUCKS BECAUSE OF A WEAK DESIGN TO SECURE THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY IN PLACE. THE PLASTIC CLIPS ON THE SIDE OF THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY THAT ATTACHES TO THE SMALL METAL CLIP AND SCREW BREAKS OFF ALLOWING THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY TO FALL OUT OF THE TRUCK BED AND HANG BY THE REAR LIGHT WIRING HARNESS. WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK IT STRIKES A POTHOLE OR ROUGH PLACE IN THE ROAD THE PLASTIC CLIPS BREAK AND THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY FALLS OUT OF THE TRUCK. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL TRUCKS WITH THE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY TAPED UP TO SECURE THE LIGHTS. THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE THIS LIGHT ASSEMBLY. *TR
I SEE YOU RECALLING BMW CARS FOR LIGHTS FAILING! WHY DON'T YOU RECALL GM TRUCKS AND SUV'S FOR FAILING RUNNING LIGHTS? FROM THEIR INTRODUCTION THEY HAVE BEEN ADVERTISED AS A SAFETY FEATURE! I WOULD GUESS 97% OF ALL GM TRUCKS AND SUV'S HAVE ONE OR BOTH OF THE LIGHTS NOT WORKING! AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW!! MY 2006 SILVERADO HAS HAD THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT REPLACED 4 TIMES. IF THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, EVEN THOUGH ADVERTISED AS SUCH, IT COST OWNERS A BIG SUM OF MONEY TO KEEP REPAIRING THEM BECAUSE OF GM'S OBVIOUS FAULTY DESIGN!! WHY DOES GM GET A PASS BUT BMW DOES NO? LEFT TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WORK ALL THE BULBS AND FUSES HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND HAS NO PROBLEM. THE TROUBLE APPEARS TO BE IN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE DUE TO MAKING UNSAFE LEFT TURNS. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN ALL OTHERS GO OFF. HAS BEEN REPORTED TO 2 DEALERS AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. *TR
REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY FELL OUT. AFTER TALKING WITH GM AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP THEY HAVE SAID THAT THEY HAVE VEHICLES ON THE LOT THAT THIS INCIDENT IS OCCURRING TO AND SEVERAL THAT HAVE BEEN PURCHASED THAT THEY ARE REPLACING. THEY WILL NOT REPLACE MINE BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE ON MY VEHICLE. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THAT IF YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE ASSEMBLY FALLS OUT AND YOU USE YOUR TURN SIGNAL, THE PERSON BEHIND YOU WOULDN'T SEE IT AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH POSSIBLY A FATAL ONE. I HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANY AT THIS TIME, BUT I DO BELIEVE IT IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO BY THE SAFETY COMMISSION. I WOULD HATE FOR GM TO BE SUED FOR A FAULT IN THEIR PRODUCT DUE TO A FATAL CRASH OR ONE THAT INVOLVED A SERIOUS INJURY. *TR
1. NEW STYLE HEADLIGHTS ON NEW CHEVY AND GMC PICKUPS ARE FINE AT A DISTANCE, BUT ARE BLINDING AS THEY APPROACH CLOSER FROM THE REAR. 2. NEWER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH "FOG" LIGHTS ARE A PROBLEM. THEY ARE TYPICALLY USED ALL THE TIME AND FREQUENTLY MIS-ALIGNED. THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRE TO DEFAULT TO THE "OFF" POSITION WHEN THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. THIS WOULD PROBABLY ELIMINATE 95% OF THE USAGE AND THEREFORE, PROBLEMS. 3. THE NEW LED TAIL LIGHTS, PARTICULARLY ON LARGE TRUCKS ARE TOO BRIGHT. WHILE THEY MAY BE EFFECTIVE, YOU CANNOT TELL IF THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED OR NOT. 4. NEW HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE LIGHTS ON POLICE CARS ARE A PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THEY HAVE DAY/NIGHT BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS. POLICE DO NOT USE THE NIGHT SETTING. WHEN APPROACHING ONE (OR MORE) STOPPED VEHICLES AT NIGHT, THE LIGHTS ARE SO BRIGHT THAT YOU CANNOT SEE THE ROAD BEYOND THE POLICE CAR, CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. *JB
(PRO-YD-CS03-AM-BK_10-CL03PLEDG2JM ) HAVE THE WIRE FOR THE CORNER LEDS AND THE MAIN PROJECTOR BULBS SWAPPED, THE LEDS ARE WIRE WITH WHAT LOOKS LIKE CONDUCTOR RAPPED IN HIGH TEMP INSOLATION, AND THE PROJECTOR BULBS HAVE WHAT LOOK LIKE NORMAL BRIGHT BLUE INSOLATION THAT IS DISCOLORED ALMOST A YELLOW BROWNISH COLOR ON THE END THAT CLOSEST TO THE BULB, IT IS CLEAR THAT THE INSOLATION IS NOT RATED FOR THIS APP. AND IS A FIRE HAZARD.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A SHADOW 2 AND 1/2 FOOT WIDE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE HIGH BEAMS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS INFORMED. UPDATED 9/5/2006 - *NM
2006 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH FAULTY BRAKE LIGHTS. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE FAILED FOUR TIMES IN TEN MONTHS. THIS FAILURE ALMOST GOT THE CONSUMER IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *KB THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE BULBS WERE NOT BURNING OUT, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO ARCING CAUSED BY POORLY DESIGNED SOCKET CONTACTS. THE CONSUMER STATED GM NEEDS TO REDESIGN THE SOCKET TO PROVIDE LINE CONTACT AT THE SOCKET/BULB ELECTRICAL INTERFACE. THE PRESENT DESIGN PROVIDES CONTACT ONLY. *JB
