I JOIN A LONG LIST OF CHEVROLET TRUCK OWNERS EXPERIENCING AC FAILURE FAR TOO SOON IN THE VEHICLE'S LIFE. MY 2015 SILVERADO 1500 4X4 Z71 WITH 42,000 MILES HAD THE AC COMPLETELY STOP WORKING OVER THE WEEKEND UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 82F. UPON INSPECTION AT THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CONDENSER HAD A LEAK ON THE TOP RIGHT SIDE AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE WARRANTY CLAIM, THE SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT HE HAS SUBMITTED THE CLAIM AND THAT HE, " ... HAD VERY LITTLE DOUBT THAT IT WOULD BE APPROVED." " WE SEE THIS A LOT," HE EXPLAINED. THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN ISSUE AND SEVERAL OWNERS ARE PAYING OUT OF POCKET FOR FAULTY EQUIPMENT THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN INSTALLED ON SUCH AN EXPENSIVE VEHICLE. GM'S "MOST DEPENDABLE TRUCK" SLOGAN IS WORTHY OF DEBATE.
DROVE IN THE RAIN AND THROUGH A COUPLE SMALL PUDDLES AND THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WENT OUT LEAVE ME WITH NO POWER STEERING
THE VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEM BECOME RIGID AT LOW SPEED (APPROX 3MPH OR SO) AS IF THE POWER BRAKE SYSTEM FAILS. THE VEHICLES STOPPING DISTANCE CHANGES AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ROLL WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TOWARD THE FLOOR. THIS ISSUE RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO MY GARAGE DOOR WHILE BACKING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE ISSUE IS BEST DESCRIBED IN THE PENDING INVESTIGATION REGARDING THE GM BRAKING SYSTEM LOCATED UNDER CHEVROLET SILVERADO RECALLS. I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE INVESTIGATION AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD WITH MY VEHICLES BRAKES. THE INVESTIGATION STATEMENT DESCRIBES THE ISSUE AS A PROBLEM WITH DEGRADING BRAKE VACUUM COMPONENT.
THE STEERING SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING JERKS BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO TURN. I'VE SEEN THIS ISSUE REPORTED ON 2014'S ALSO. WE WERE STOPPED WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED. THE STEERING JERKED AS I TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD AND SOMETHING ABOUT THE "STABILITRAK" BRIEFLY FLASHED ON THE DASH. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. WE TURNED THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF, BUT IT TURNED ITSELF BACK ON AND THE ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN TRYING TO BACK INTO MY DRIVEWAY.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING , SAFETY HAZARD! CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD NO RECALL ON MY SPECIFIC VIN # EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A RECALL ON SAME YEAR MAKE & MODEL VEHICLE. WAS TOLD BY GM TO TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP & GM WOULD TRY & ASSIST IN GETTING VEHICLE REPAIRED. WITH IT BEING A SAFETY ISSUE AND SAME MAKE & MODEL AS VEHICLE THAT HAS RECALL IN PLACE FOR THE SAME PART, I FEEL GM SHOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLES POWER STEERING MOTOR AT NO COST TO ME.
MY 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO CREWCAB LD HAS A VERY DANGEROUS STEERING ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS THE STEERING SYSTEM FULLY GIVES OUT MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AND SOMETIMES THE WHEELS JERKS BACK APPROXIMATELY 1/4 TURN. GM HAS RECALLED TRUCKS FOR THIS ISSUE ON ALL SILVERADO MODELS 2014/15 EXCEPT THE 2015 CREW CAB . THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE . THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 36,251 MILES AND IS TAKEN CARE OF TO THE FULLEST PER MANUFACTURERS GUIDELINES . THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THAT GM HAS ADMITTED IT AND RECALLED MANY VEHICLES OUTSIDE THE TRUCKS AS WELL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, HOPEFULLY THEY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND MAKE A RECALL FOR ALL AFFECTED MODELS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT.
VEHICLE IS MAKING A GRINDING NOISE WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL WAS ADVISED BY DEALER IT'S A KNOWN GM ISSUE WHILE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND ALSO YOU CAN HEAR THIS NOISE WHILE MOVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED 15MPH OR UNDER
BRAKE VACUUM PUMP FAILED WHICH RESULTED IN DIMINISHED BRAKING PERFORMANCE. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AS WE WERE PULLING A CAMPER WHEN IT HAPPENED. DEALERSHIP REPLACED VACUUM PUMP WHEN VEHICLE WAS AT 78260MILES ALTHOUGH CONDITION STARTED BEFORE THAT. WE RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT REIMBURSEMENT BUT IT ONLY APPLIES TO 72000 MILES OR 6 YEARS. THE REPAIR COST US OVER $500.
The wax coating on the frame is falling off and the frame has rust all over. This is a manufacturing defect that Chevrolet refuses to repair under warranty. This is a known problem throughout the Silverado owners.
AIR CONDITIONING ON MY 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO IS ONLY BLOWING WARM AIR.
DURING NORMAL DRIVING 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' NOTIFICATION POPS UP AND CAUSES ALL OF DASH AND RADIO TO FLICKER. IT GOES AWAY AND FLASHES AGAIN CONSISTENTLY. EVENTUALLY DASH AND RADIO WENT DARK AS IF VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY THE AC WAS ON. WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC
EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE I'VE NOTICED A RUFF RIDE . IT FEELS LIKE IT'S COMING FROM REAR END . I HIT A SLIGHT BUMP ON ROAD WHILE DRIVING AND IT BOUNCES AND VIBRATES ROUGHLY. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP A MONTH OR SO AFTER BUYING IT AND WAS TOLD MY TIRES WHERE NOT BALANCED , SO THEY BALANCED THEM AND STILL CAME OUT THE SAME . DECIDED TO GET A SECOND OPINION MONTHS LATER AND WAS TOLD IT HAD WEAK SHOCKS IN FRONT SO THEY CHANGED THOSE OUT . STILL NOTHING HAD CHANGED . SO RETURNED IT TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP A WEEK LATER AND THEY THEN DID THE REAR SHOCKS MENTIONING THEY WERE IN WEAK CONDITION. STILL NO CHANGE . AT THAT TIME MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY SO I GUESS THEY TROUBLESHOOT THE CHEAPEST WAY JUST TO GET THE CUSTOMER OUT OF THEIR AND SAVE MONEY ON THEIR END . NOW THAT MY WARRANTY IS JUST OVER I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE GIVING ME OPTIONS I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD WHEN MY WARRANTY WAS IN EFFECT.
I PURCHASED MY 2015 SILVERADO PRE-OWNED WITH 2,000 MILES IN OCTOBER 2016. IN MAY OF 2018 I WAS TRAVELING THROUGH MULTIPLE STATES. I WAS STUCK IN SLOW TRAFFIC FOR MULTIPLE HOURS DUE TO AN ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS THEN THAT I FIRST EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE WITH MY BRAKES. WHEN MOVING AT A VERY SLOW PACE, THE BRAKES SEEMED TO LOSE THE POWER ASSIST. I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR IT'S OIL SERVICE AT CASTROVILLE CHEVROLET ON 6/22/2018. I MENTIONED THIS ISSUE TO THE SERVICE WRITER WHO WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY ISSUES WITH THE SILVERADO BRAKES. AT THE TIME IT WAS COST PROHIBITIVE FOR ME TO HAVE IT INVESTIGATED AND COULD NOT LOSE THE VEHICLE FOR AN EXTENDED TIME. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THEN, AGAIN ONLY AT VERY LOW SPEEDS, SUCH AS PARKING. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON 11/28/2018 WITH CASTROVILLE CHEVROLET TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. ALL OF THESE INCIDENTS HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION. I BELIEVED IT TO BE A VACUUM ISSUE AS IT ONLY HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS.
SEVERAL TIMES COMMUTING IN TO WORK, WIFE SAID BRAKES FELT FUNNY, HARD TO STOP. I WOULD DRIVE AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS, THEN IT FINALLY HAPPENED TO ME IN AT A BUSY INTERSECTION. TRIED TO STOP BUT TRUCK KEPT ROLLING, LOST BRAKING POWER AND THE TRUCK SLID FORWARD. MANAGED TO STOP BUT HAPPENED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER AND IT HAPPENED AT A HIGHER SPEED. BRAKE PEDAL GOES REAL STIFF WHEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND IT IS HARD FOR THE TRUCK TO STOP. GOING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE CAR IN FRONT SLOWS DOWN TO TURN. I APPLIED BRAKES AND THE TRUCK WAS HARD TO STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STIFF AS I WAS PUSHING DOWN HARD. THE TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS SLOWING DOWN BUT BARELY. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR BEFORE IT TURNED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM PUMP AND PIPE. I CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND TOLD THEM THAT I AM HAVING A SAFETY ISSUE. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS NOT A DEFECT OR REAL SAFETY ISSUE. THEY SAID THAT THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. IT ONLY HAS 61,156 MILES ON IT AS OF 9 JULY 2018. THE FIRST TIME THE ISSUE OCCURRED WAS IN MAY 2018. AT THAT TIME I HAD ABOUT 59,000+ MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. A COUPLE OF CERTIFIED MECHANICS STATED THAT THIS PART SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER THAN IT HAS. I WOULD LIKE TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. SERVICE BULLETIN #PIT5361.
2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 5.3L 4X4 (48,000 MILES). WHILE DRIVING LAST NIGHT I WAS U-TURNING AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION WHEN THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER, THEN FLASHED "STABILITRAK" ON THE DASH, AND JERKED THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF MY HAND. SHOULD THERE HAVE BEEN SOMEONE COMING THE OTHER DIRECTION THERE SURLY WOULD HAVE A MAJOR HEAD ON COLLISION. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AFTER RE-FIRING THE TRUCK AND TRIED SOME LOW SPEED SHARP TURNS AND SURE ENOUGH THE SAME ISSUE. FLICKERING POWER, "STABILITRAK" FLASHING ON DASH, AND STEERING WHEEL JERKED OUT OF MY HAND. WHEN I SAY STEERING JERKED ITS NOT AS IF I JUST LOST POWER STEERING, THE WHEEL WILL ACTUALLY JERK AS IF ITS TRYING TO GET BACK TO CENTER ON ITS OWN. I LEFT THE TRUCK OVER NIGHT AND WENT BACK THIS MORNING TO HAVE SOMEONE FOLLOW ME HOME. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THERE IS NO ISSUED RECALL FOR MY VIN. I'VE FOUND HUNDREDS OF STORIES AND VIDEOS ON THE INTERNET VERY SIMILAR TO MINE FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. THERE ARE SOME RECALLS FOR OTHER MODEL YEARS THAT SOUND LIKE THEY ARE AIMED AT THE PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR MY MODEL/YEAR AND EVERYONE I'VE FOUND THAT HAS HAD THE RECALLS FOR STEERING AND VOLTAGE ISSUES SAYS THAT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. ITS TERRIFYING THINKING THAT IM DRIVING A 6,000LBS MASS THAT CAN SHUT OFF AND STEER ITSELF OUT OF NO WHERE. RIDICULOUS THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY GM!
WHILE PARKED OVER NIGHT IN THE GARAGE THE SABILITRAK LIGHT WAS ON AND SERVICE TRAILER SYSTEM. TRUCK WOULDN'T START SO I JUMP STARED HE TRUCK. THAT WORKED TWICE THOUGH OUT THE DAY AND ON MY LAST DRIVE WHILE I WAS REVERSING THE STEERING WHEEL WAS PULLED FROM MY HAND AND THE 'STABILITRAK' LIGHT CAME ON! FINALLY WHILE PARKED BEFORE MY TRUCK ENGINE WOULDN'T TURN OVER THE 'STABILITRAK' LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND 'SERVICE TRAILER SYSTEM' I'VE NEVER USED MY TRAILER SYSTEM. MY TRUCK WOULDN'T EVEN TURN OVER 'CRANK'. I HAD TO TOW MY TRUCK HOME AND I'M JUST HAPPY THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WASN'T PULLED FROM MY HAND WITH MY TWO KIDS WITH ME IN THE ROAD!

I'M ADDING TO THE GROWING LIST OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE AC ISSUES WITH GM/CHEVY FULL-SIZED VEHICLES FROM 2014-2015. AS OF 5/3/2018, I HAD NOTICED MY AC ONLY BLOWING HOT AIR. TRIED AGAIN THE FOLLOWING DAY, SAME THING. ONLY BEING 2 YEARS OLD, I FOUND IT INCREDIBLY ODD THAT THE FREON WOULD BE GONE ALREADY. UPON DOING MY RESEARCH ABOUT THE PROBLEM, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A TREMENDOUSLY EGREGIOUS KNOWN ISSUE WITH GMC/CHEVY OWNERS AND A RECALL REGARDING THE PROBLEM HAS STILL NOT BEEN ISSUED TO CORRECT IT. GIVEN THE FACT MY VEHICLE HAS JUST FALLEN OUT WARRANTY AS WELL, IT'S INCREDIBLY INFURIATING THAT I'M NOW FORCED TO HAVE THESE REPAIRS COME OUT OF POCKET AND WAIT NEARLY A MONTH FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY BY GMC/CHEVY BEFORE THE HOTTEST DAYS OF SUMMER ARRIVE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING ABILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO CIOCCA CHEVROLET OF QUAKERTOWN (855 S WEST END BLVD, QUAKERTOWN, PA 18951) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY, TORQUE SENSOR, AND HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,100.

ON MY WAY HOME PULLING A 5000 LBS BOAT AND TRAILER ON A PUBLIC HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY MY BRAKES GET HARD AS A ROCK AND LOOSE THE ABILITY TO BASICALLY STOP WITH ANY QUICK RESPONSE. AFTER LIMPING THE TRUCK A SHORT DISTANCE TO A FRIENDS BUSINESS I LEARN THIS TRUCK HAS A BRAKE POWER ASSIST PUMP???????????? CALL ME OLD FASHION BUT THE VACUUM USUALLY COMES FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD, NOT A RINKY DINK PUMP WITH A BELT TO DRIVE IT. TOTALLY UNSAFE IN MY OPINION. SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS BRAKES TO BE RELIED ON A RUBBER BAND AND A 5 DOLLAR CHINA BEARING. I FEEL THIS IS A POOR AND UNSAFE DESIGN AND COULD EASILY BEEN AVOIDED. NOW COMES THE ENJOYMENT OF HAVING IT REPAIRED AND ONLY A DEALER AVAILABLE PART. TRUCK JUST TURNED 50K AND MY DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THIS ITEM IS NOT.COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
Hesitation when trying to pass and loss of power clicking noise from engine. Black smoke while driving on the highway.
THE STABILITRAK NOTIFICATION APPEARS AND THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES ON IT'S OWN TO THE STRAIGHT POSITION. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE BACKING UP MORE THAN ONCE. ALSO, THE STEREO SCREEN HAS BLACKED OUT AND THE VEHICLES POWER CUT OUT ON MY WIFE WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE.
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITHIN A 1 WEEK PERIOD, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO DEPRESS WITH THE VEHICLE IN MOTION. A NOISE COULD BE HEARD SIMILAR TO THAT OF AN ACTIVE ABS. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED WHILE PULLING INTO A CROWDED PARKING LOT. I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO PREVENT A COLLISION WITH A PARKED VEHICLE. THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED, I WAS PARKING AT A CURB IN THE MAIN AREA OF MY TOWN AND AGAIN HAD TO UTILIZE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO AVOID HITTING A PARKED VEHICLE. INTERNET RESEARCH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THIS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THE SAME EXPERIENCE.
THE BRAKES WILL BECOME VERY HARD TO PRESS WHEN THEY BECOME HOT. DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND IN REVERSE, AFTER THE BRAKES ARE HOT (HIGHYWAY DRIVING, THEN DOWN TO CITY TRAFFIC). VERY DANGEROUS IF NOT AWARE OF THIS ISSUE.
VEHICLE HIT A TREE IN MOTION. VEHICLE HIT TREE IN CENTER OF GRILL. SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BUT FRONT AIR BAG DID NOT. THE ONLY IMPACT WAS TO THE FRONT OF TRUCK AND NONE TO THE SIDES. CAUSING CHEST PAIN AND WHIPLASH. ON A TWO LANE RURAL COUNTRY ROAD. POLICE REPORT 18GV061981 SOUTH CAROLINA. STATE FARM INSURANCE CLAIM NUMBER 403-507 Z76. I WAS RAN OFF THE ROAD BY A VEHICLE IN MY LANE.
I WAS BACKING INTO A PARKING STALL THE THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN! BRAKE PEDAL WAS SOLID AND WOULD NOT DEPRESS TO SLOW THE TRUCK TO A STOP. ONLY AFTER EXTREME PEDAL PRESSURE WAS THERE ANY BRAKING ACTION, BUT ONLY SLIGHT. BECAUSE OF THIS I HIT THE WALL BEHIND THE TRUCK. IF SOMEONE WAS THERE, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP. GM/CHEVROLET HAVE A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THIS ISSUE. AN INTERNET SEARCH CAME BACK WITH 312,000 RESULTS. I'VE TALKED TO MY SELLING CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY RELUCTANT TO DEAL WITH IT. DOES SOMEBODY NEED TO DIE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE. THIS IS THE 4TH OR 5TH TIME MY BRAKES HAVE FAILED.
REAR TAIL LIGHT WIRING HARNESS FOR BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE LET MOISTURE IN CAUSING CORROSION IN THE ELECTRICAL PLUGS. THE TURN SIGNALS HAVE BEEN IMPACTED AND HAVE HAD TO BOTH BE REPLACED WITHIN 8 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER.
LEFT SIDE BRAKE CALLIPER SUPPORT BOLT FELL OUT OF TOP MOUNT.(LOST ON HWY). BOTTOM BOLT HALF WAY OUT. CALLIPER STARTED SCRUBBING INNER REM. VIBRATION AND LOUD POPPING NOISE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS INSTALLING NERF BARS ON THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE FRAME WAS SEVERELY RUSTED, INCLUDING THE CROSS MEMBERS. NOTICED THERE HAS BEEN SOME ISSUES HAVING IT TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP TO SEE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, LOOKS AS IF GM IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, SO DON'T KNOW WHY I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS ISSUE, COULD OF BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT AS I TRAVEL ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS.
FRONT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES CRACKING ONLY ON THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS NOT ON THE HIGH BEAM A KNOWN ISSUE THAT GM IS IGNORING AND ITS DEALERSHIPS OTHER OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT HAS GREATLY IMPACTED ME DRIVING MY TRUCK AT NIGHT LIKE I SAID GM KNOWS ABOUT THE DEFECT IN THEIR HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES AS I WAS TOLD FROM THE GM MECHANIC AND SERVICE WRITER AND GM OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT ALL OVER THE INTER NET STARTS A LITTLE BIT OVER TIME UNTIL ITS VERY NOTICABLE STARTS SPIDER WED CRACKS

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT JIM NORTON CHEVROLET (3131 N ASPEN AVENUE, BROKEN ARROW, OKLAHOMA, 918-258-8000) FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE CONDENSER BLEW OUT AND THE RADIATOR WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
WHILE IN A PARKING LOT, THERE WAS AN ALMOST COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT DEPRESS. ONLY AFTER PRESSING MULTIPLE TIMES AND VERY HARD WAS THERE ANY BRAKING ACTION WHICH SLOWED THE TRUCK. GM HAS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN, PIT5361 ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
COOLANT LEVEL DROPS IN RESERVOIR. STRONG SMELL OF COOLANT COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. PERIODICALLY A WHITE CLOUD EMITS FROM UNDER HOOD OUTWARDS FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE. SERVICE CENTER HAS PREFORMED PRESSURE TEST, DYE TEST WITH NO FINDINGS. ORANGE DISCOLORATION ON HOOD LINER ABOVE RESERVOIR CAP. HAVE REPLACED CAP. STILL COOLANT LEVEL DROPPING. (NOT SEVERE BUT SLIGHT)
AT ABOUT 60,000 MILES I NOTICED MY AC NOT WORKING. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE VERY COSTLY TO FIX AND A COUPLE OF DEALERSHIPS NEAR ME WOULD NOT GET BACK TO ME ABOUT PRICE AND TO TO FIX IT, THEY TOLD ME ITS NOT UNDER ANY WARRANTY. THEY DID TELL ME IT WOULD TAKE 9 HOURS TO FIX-BOOK TIME AND THE PARTS WOULD BE AROUND $300+. SEEMS TOO EARLY FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT TO STOP WORKING I NOTICE A SMELL INSIDE THE CAB AND IT WAS FROM THE EVAPORATOR COIL LEAKING. THIS HAPPENED IN MID SPRING AND JUST NOW WAS TOLD HOW TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT. I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPAIRED YET DUE TO COST AND FINDING SOMEONE TO DO IT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY APPROX 40 MPH, TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED SUDDENLY AND I APPLIED AS MUCH FORCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS I WAS PHYSICALLY ABLE TO. THE TRUCK BEGAN SLOWING BUT NOT NEARLY FAST ENOUGH AND I COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE BRAKE PERFORMANCE SEEMS TO HAVE DECLINED OVER TIME AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP IN TIME TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT. THERE APPEARED TO BE PLENTY OF ROOM TO STOP BUT THE TRUCK DID NOT PERFORM AS EXPECTED. I AM REPORTING BECAUSE I READ AN ARTICLE REGARDING A PROBE INTO ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES ON THE YEAR TRUCK THAT I OWN. AT THE TIME I DID NOT THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT IT BUT NOW I BELIEVE THAT THIS BRAKING ISSUE MAY HAVE DIRECTLY RESULTED IN THE COLLISION.
AT SLOW SPEED, WHILE MANEUVERING INTO A TIGHT PARKING SPOT, BRAKES ANTILOCK BRAKING KICKED IN AND MADE THE BRAKE PEDAL VERY STIFF AND PREVENTING APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES CAUSING THE TRUCK TO ROLL FORWARD ALMOST HITTING THE PARKED CAR BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE SAME DAY. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN AND WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE RELATED TO THE DESIGN OF THE ABS SENSOR AND BRAKING SYSTEM ON THE CHEVY MODELS AND RECALLS FROM ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO. THIS TRUCK IS A MN VEHICLE.
MY 2015 SILVERADO WITH 59,000 HAD THE AC GO OUT. THE AC BLOWS WARM AIR WEHTER IT IS PARKED, DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY @ 65MPH. APPARENTLY THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER GM OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS ON SIERRAS, SILVERADOS, TAHOES, YUKONS, AND ESCALADES! IT IS A DEFECTIVE AND WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH THE AC CONDENSER/COMPRESSOR. IT COST OVER $1,000.00 TO FIX AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY WITH NO GM OR DEALER DISCOUNTS. THE ISSUE IS SO MAJOR THAT THE BACK ORDER FOR THE PART TAKES MONTHS AND THERE ARE OVER 18,000 UNITS ARE ON BACK ORDER! YES! 18,000 UNITS!
THE AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT BLOW COLD. 2015 SILVERADO WITH 55K. DO NOT HEAR THE AC COMPRESSOR KICK IN WHEN AC BUTTON PUSHED. HISSING NOISE OVERHEARD WHEN IT DOES DECIDE TO WORK. INTERNET QUERIES LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2014, 2015 SILVERADO MODELS AND GM DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE.

NEED TO REPLACE THE VACUUM PUMP AND LINE BECAUSE BRAKES ARE WICKED SOFT. AT SLOW SPEEDS TRUCK DOESNT WANT TO STOP. FOR EXAMPLE IN TRAFFIC OR PARKING. WHEN I WENT TO THE CHEVY DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY'VE SEEN A HANDFUL OF OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUE
TRUCK HAS 62K. TRUCK WILL NOT STOP AT LOW SPEEDS. COULD EASILY BACK INTO AND OR OVER SOMETHING OR SOMEONE VERY EASILY. MORE FREQUENT WHEN AT LOW SPEEDS AND WHILE BACKING UP. I ALMOST BACKED INTO A ROLL UP DOOR BEFORE SLAMMING ON THE PARKING BRAKE. TOOK TRUCK INTO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VACUUM PUMP, VACUUM BELT AND HOSE FROM VACUUM PUMP TO BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY FIX.
THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT ON MY 2015 1500 SILVERADO LEAKED INTO MY HEADLINER. NOW THERE IS A BROWN LINE ALL THE WAY ACROSS MY HEADLINER ABOVE THE REAR WINDOW. EVEN THE SERVICE GUY AT CHEVY SAID IT WOULDN'T LEANK ANYMORE. HE HAS HAD QUITE A FEW TRUCKS COME THROUGH WITH THIS ISSUE. THE FIX WAS $153.00. HOW WILL I KNOW IF MOLD FORMS DUE TO THIS? MY TRUCK WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY DURING THE RAIN.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PERFORMED A PRESSURE TEST, WHICH REVEALED THAT THE RADIATOR FRACTURED FROM THE TOP LEFT CORNER. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,200.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 50 MILES AN HOUR DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC BEGAN SLOWING DOWN AND AS I WENT TO PUSH ON THE BREAK, IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD. I COULD NOT PUSH THE BREAK DOWN AT ALL, AND MY CAR WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. I PLACED IT IN NEUTRAL AND WAS PUSHING AS HARD AS I COULD ON THE BREAK WITH BOTH FEET. FINALLY, THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. I PUT ME EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON AND CROSSES OVER 5 LANES OF TRAFFIC, AS I WAS IN THE CARPOOL LANE, TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY SITUATION.
