BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD, AND BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING, IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY. USUALLY AT LOW SPEED, AND IT HAS MADE IT INTERESTING AT PARKING LOTS, OR STOP & GO TRAFFIC, AND PARKING IN OUR DRIVEWAY. WE HAVE CHECKED EVERYTHING, AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. GOOGLED THE SYMPTOMS, AMD IT APPEARS THIS IS HAPPENING TO MORE CHEVROLET SILVERADOS THAN MINE, AND THE TECH'S SAY IT'S A BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP ISSUE. I THINK CHEVROLET NEED TO FIX THIS ISSUE, SINCE IT'S HAPPENING TO SEVERAL TRUCKS, IT'S NOT JUST A FLAWED PUMP, BUT MORE LIKELY A PUMP WEEKNESS OVERALL. HAPPENED FIRST TIME A YEAR AGO, WHEN IN A FERRY LANE, AND THE SPEED WAS WALKING SPEED, AND WE BARELY MANAGED TO STOP BEFORE WE HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF US.
THE VEHICLE SHAKES WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT SHAKES ALL THE TIME ABOVE 50 MPH. HAS SHAKEN SINCE PURCHASED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE VACUUM PRESSURE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES ENGAGED ONCE THE VEHICLE REACHED 1,000 RPMS. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PERFORMANCE CHEVROLET (4811 MADISON AVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95841) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15-20 MPH, THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED; HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE FOR A WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE FOR THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V719000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-3776324755. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,116.
WEAK PAINT, LOTS OF PEELING IN RANDOM SPOTS. SPECIFICALLY AROUND PASSENGER WINDOWS. DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT BEEN WILLING TO HELP OR FILE A COMPLAINT TO GM, SHOULD NOT PAY THIS MUCH FOR A VEHICLE AND THIS HAPPEN SO QUICKLY TO THE PAINT. I AM SCARED TO WASH IT, AS IT SEEMS TO MAKE THE ISSUE WORSE.
NOTICED FAILURE OF VEHICLE TO STOP. LACK OF POWER ASSIST BRAKING AT SLOW SPEEDS. BRAKE PEDAL IS ROCK HARD WITH LITTLE TO ZERO TRAVEL (1/4' AT MOST). VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE (REGARDLESS OF PRESSURE APPLIED TO BRAKE PEDAL) FOR SEVERAL FEET. WHILE THIS HAS OCCURRED IN BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE GEARS; THE ISSUE IS CONSISTENTLY OBSERVED IN REVERSE.
FUEL INJECTORS CAUSING CYLINDER MISFIRE - THIS ISSUE CAN BE VERY HAZARDOUS TO THE SAFETY OF DRIVER AND OTHERS. FIRST NOTICED ON HIGHWAY GOING STRAIGHT. THEN AGAIN NEXT MORNING, VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE DATE OCCURRED IS NOT EXACT, BUT CLOSE.
PAINT CHIPPING, PEELING OFF EVERYWHERE. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK FOR 5 MONTHS AND HAVE 15-20 SPOTS WHERE IT IS FLAKING OR PEELING OFF. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY DON'T KNOW OF ANY ISSUE YET WE FOUND WHERE THEY HAD SPOT TREATED SOME CHIPS!
TAKATA RECALL .. WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK , 2015 SILVERADO WITH ONLY 38K MILES .. A (WARNING LIGHT ) DISPLAYS (SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM) IT CONTINUES TO CHIME & DISPLAY ON THE DASH NON STOP EVEN IF I HAVE A TRAILER HOOKED UP TO THE TRUCK OR NOT & IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SPEED I'M DRIVING . THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO WHEN I AM TOWING MY TRAILER AS SOON AS IT DISPLAYS THE SERVICE TRAILER BREAK SYSTEM LIGHT, I LOSE THE ABILITY TO USE MY ELECTRIC TRAILER BREAKS UNTIL THE DISPLAY SHUTS OFF .. THERE IS A ROUGH IDLE. I HAVE TOKE THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY HAVE SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. IT HAS A HARD START DURING COLD WEATHER
TAKATA RECALL-I WAS IN A WRECK 12-24-2017 AND I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND. THE BED OF MY TRUCK WAS HIT SO HARD BY A DISTRACTED DRIVER WHILE I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, THAT IT TWISTED UP AND HIT THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED AND MY SEATBELT NEVER LOCKED UP. I AM SEVERELY INJURED AND AM STILL SEEKING TREATMENT FOR MY INJURIES. IT WAS OVER $11,000 IN DAMAGES. THE TRUCK NOW DOWN SHIFTS AND IT SOUNDS LIKIE THE BOTTOM IS DROPPING OUT. IT ALSO SHAKES WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED.
TRUCK WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WAS REAR ENDED AND AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. DRIVER WAS INJURED AND JUST HAD SURGERY FOR NECK INJURY. ALSO HAD BACK INJECTIONS ALL DUE TO THIS ACCIDENT DECEMBER 24,2017
RECEIVED AN ALERT AROUND 63,500 MILES "ALERT: SERVICE BREAK ASSIST." DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISOR NOTIFIED ME THAT PROBLEM WAS "BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO VACUUM BOSTER. BOTH NEED TO BE REPLACED." COST $1172.61. BREAK BASICALLY WOULDN'T WORK PROPERLY WHEN PRESSED. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN SO EARLY. I'VE ONLY HAD TRUCK FOR TWO YEARS. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO FIX THIS. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN INJURY TO MYSELF OR MY FAMILY.
POWER BRAKES FAIL AT LOW SPEED REQUIRING MORE PRESSURE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES I WHILE PARKING OR IDLE SPEEDS.
I HAVE HAD A 14 NOW A 2015 SILVERADO THAT BOTH HAVE HAD A A/C CONDENSER GO OUT BY 45K MILES THIS IS COMPLETELY REDICULOUSE THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY CONCERN , AND HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED AS WELL AS I HAVE SPENT 2K ON THESE REPAIRS IN 2 YEARS I HAVE A CONDITION THAT I CANNOT TAKE EXTREME HEAT SO I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO SPEND THE MONEY GM WAS CONTACTED THEY BASICALLY SAID I WILL GET 12 MONTH WARRANTY ON NEW REPAIR.
2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO POWER STEERING. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED ABS SYSTEM AND STABILITRAK LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER WAS MADE AWARE OF A RECALL CONCERNING THE STEERING FAILURE AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS.*JS
WHEN PUMPING MY BRAKES FOR TRAFFIC, BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY OR DRIVING IN GENERAL ETC., BRAKES WILL FAIL AND MY TRUCK KEEPS ROLLING. NOT SAFE WHAT SO EVER AS I AM STOMPING ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I CAN AND THE TRUCK WILL NOT STOP. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE BY CONTACTING CHEVROLET FOR A RECALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MULTIPLE FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH THIS TRUCK MODEL AND YEAR. IT IS A PROBLEM AND GM NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT IT BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS KILLED FOR BRAKE FAILURE. BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO HARD ON SPORATIC OCCASSIONS AT LOW SPEEDS
I BOUGHT MY TRUCK BRAND NEW FROM CHEVROLET. NO ACCIDENTS, WELL MAINTAINED TRUCK. I HAVE GONE THRU 2 RACK AND PINIONS AND MY TRUCK JUST HIT 32K MILES. 1ST TIME I NOTICED POPPING NOISES COMING WHEN I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL. BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO TAKE IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT. JUST A COUPLE DAYS AGO I NOTICED THE POPPING NOISE AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY BEFORE MY POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL. AGAIN THE DIAGNOSED IT AS THE RACK AND PINION AND IS BACK IN THE SHOP.
I HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSFER CASE GOT STUCK IN 4HI AND AT THE TIME IT HAD A RECALL SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER LOCATED LESS THAN 20 MILES OF MY HOUSE I NEVER GOT OVER 45 MPH WHILE STUCK IN 4HI DEALER DID RECALL WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS THEN WHEN I WAS HAULING A 18 FT CAR HAULER WITH A SMALL TRUCK ON IT AND I ONLY HAD TO HAUL IT 30 MILES TO MY HOUSE I WAS ABOUT A 1/4 MILE FROM MY DRIVEWAY AND THE REAR END POPPED REALLY LOUD 1 TIME AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED GRINDING AND I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND CALLED ROADSIDE AND HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER AND I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALER THEY SAID THAT THE SPIDER GEARS HAD BROKEN AND IT WAS GOING TO COST 3000 FOR A NEW REAR END DO TO THE CROSS PIN RETAINING BOLT HAD BROKEN INSIDE THE DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY I DECLINE THE SERVICE BECAUSE I DIDN'T SEE WHY I HAD TO PAY IF I STILL HAVE WARRANTY ON IT AND I HAD ANOTHER REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY AND HAD IT INSTALLED WHICH IT WORKED FINE EXCEPT THAT THE WHEN THE ORIGINAL REAR END BROKE IT SAID SERVICE 4WD AND IT STILL SAID THAT WHEN I GOT THE REAR END FIXED AND I TOOK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD COST 130 JUST TO LOOK AT IT AND IF THEY FOUND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT THAT THAT 130 WOULD GO TOWARD REPAIRS AND AS I SAID BEFORE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND IS ONLY GOT 47000 MILES AND I TOOK IT TO A FRIEND'S SHOP THAT HAS A SNAP ON COMPUTER AND PULLED CODES AND RESEARCHED THE CODES AND WHAT I FOUND WAS THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFT MODULE RE LEARNED OR REPROGRAMMED AND THAT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE WHICH A LOT OF OTHER 2014/15 SILVERADO OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE TRANSFER CASE AND RELEARNING OR REPROGRAMMING FIXED THE ISSUE.
A/C CONDENSER LEAKING, MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND GM DEALERS REPLACING THEIR FAULTY INVENTORY.
THE TRUCK EXPERIENCED A HARD BRAKE PEDAL AT LOW RPM, STOP LIGHT, PARKING LOT, ETC. WHEN BRAKE IS DEPRESSED THE PEDAL IS HARD TO PRESS AND THE BRAKING ABILITY IS REDUCED AND THE TRUCK WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL. CHEVROLET IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND ISSUED A BULLETIN IN FEBRUARY 2015, MY 2015 WAS PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER 2015. WHEN I COMPLAINED OF THE ISSUE AT DEALER, I WAS TOLD I AM OUT OF WARRANTY AND WOULD HAVE TO PAY A PORTION OF THE REPAIR ON A KNOWN DEFECT.
BRAKE PEDAL GETS VERY HARD WHEN DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS AND IN REVERSE. MAKES A TICKING SOUND LIKE THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES ARE KICKING IN BUT NO DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATE. ALMOST REAR ENDED A VEHICLE TRAVELLING 25MPH BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL IN A PARKING LOT TO AVOID COLLISION. TRUCK HAS 79XXX MILES
THE STEERING WHEEL HAS A POPPING NOISE EVERY TIME I TURN IT. THE 2ND THING IS, I HAVE LOST POWER STEERING 8-10 TIMES WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT. ONE TIME IT STALLED THE ENGINE AND LOST ALL POWER FOR 30-40 MINUTES AND I HAD TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY CABLES TO RESET SO IT WOULD CRANK. MAKES ME FEEL REAL SAFE WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE AT 60 MPH WONDERING IF I'M GOING TO LOSE POWER AGAIN.
I PURCHASED A 2015 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR MY SON. AT 44000 MILES HE NOTICED THE PAINT PEELING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED AND SPOKE WITH THE BODY SHOP SUPERVISOR. HE TOLD ME THE TRUCK HAD BEEN PAINTED TWICE AT THE FACTORY. AT THIS POINT, GM OFFERED ME 1000 DOLLARS OF THE COST TO REPAIR THE TRUCK. I CONTACTED GM EXECUTIVE BRANCH AND AFTER RESEARCH WAS TOLD THE TRUCK HAD NO HISTORY OF BEING PAINTED TWICE AND THERE OFFER STOOD AT 1000 DOLLARS OF THE REPAIRS. SO, I WENT TO THREE DIFFERENT BODY SHOPS AND THEY ALL TOLD ME THE TRUCK HAD BEEN PAINTED TWICE. THE LAST SHOP I WENT TO EVEN MEASURED THE THICKNESS OF THE PAINT TO PROVE IT. ANY HELP APPRECIATED.
WITHIN 6 WEEKS I HAD TO REPLACE 3 TIRES ON MY TRUCK. I STILL HAD 4/32 OF WERE LEFT ON THESE TIRES THAT ONLY HAD APPROXIMATELY 27000 MILES ON THEM. I ENDED UP BUYING A FORTH TIRES AND HAD THE TIRES BALANCED FOR ANOTHER HUNDRED DOLLARS.I HAVE ALL THE RECEIPTS AND I AM LOOKING FOR COMPENSATION FOR INFERIOR TIRES THAT WERE ON THE TRUCK WHEN I BOUGHT IT. CHEVROLET QUALITY WAS NOT THERE ON MY TIRES. THIS HAPPENED OVER A 6 WEEK PERIOD STARTING 10/20/2017 TO 10/28/2017.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR HAD BEEN ILLUMINATED FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JOHN JONES CHEVROLET IN CORYDON, INDIANA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A RODENT DAMAGED THE WIRES ABOVE THE FUEL TANK, WHICH NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
HARD BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS. BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARD AND TRUCK HARD TO STOP. POSSIBLE BRAKE BOOSTER DEFECT. ATTEMPTING TO PARK IN PARKING STALL, HAD TO PUT TRUCK IN N TO STOP. COMMUTING TO WORK IN TRAFFIC AT LOW SPEED AND PEDAL BECOMES HARD, TRUCK HARD TO STOP.
WHEN TAKING A LONG, RATHER SHARP TURN ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE WAS RESISTING AGAINST THE TURN MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. AT THE SAME TIME, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO INITIATE WHEN THE PEDAL WAS STEPPED, BUT IMMEDIATELY BECAME VERY HARD AND COULD BARELY SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE. ALMOST HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT DUE TO THE DELAY AND DIFFICULTY IN BRAKING.
I WAS TRYING TO MISS A DEER UNSUCCESSFULLY AND WENT OFF ROAD AND THE SIDE OF ROAD HAD A BANK DROP OFF AND AS I WAS TRYING TO GET MY 2015 SILVERADO 1500 BACK ON THE ROAD THE REAR END STARTED SLIDING DOWN THEN MY TRUCK TUCK OFF DOWN EMBANKMENT AND RESTED ON A COUPLE TREES ONE OF WHICH I HIT HEAD ON. AFTER I CAME TOO I LOOKED DOWN AND NOTICED MY AIRBAG HAD NOT CAME OUT ON THE STEERING WHEEL JUST ON THE SIDES. SO I WAS THINKING MAYBE MY TRUCK WAS NOT HURT THAT BAD. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PHOTOS THAT I WAS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND TO PAY THIS MUCH MONEY FOR A VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SAVE YOUR LIFE DOES NOT WORK MAKES ME REALLY UPSET EVEN THOUGH I REALLY LOVED MY TRUCK. ACCIDENT EARLY MORNINGS OF OCTOBER 7, 2017.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KUNES COUNTRY CHEVROLET-CADILLAC, INC. (1231 GENEVA ST, DELAVAN, WI 53115) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO DEFECTS WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE ROTOR. THE CONTACT PAID FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,000.
AT LOW SPEED WITH STOP AND GO TRAFFIC LOSS OF BRAKE ASSIST/BOOST. FIRST APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES WAS NORMAL. AFTER RELEASE AND REAPPLICATION, BRAKE BOOST WAS LOST, PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD AND VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT HAS SEPARATED FROM THE FLOOR. THE CABLE THAT ATTACHES THE LAP BELT TO THE BASE OF THE SEAT HAS FAILED. THE CABLE HAS COMPLETELY SEPARATED. THIS FAILURE HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PARKED, AT HOME AND JUST ATTACHING THE SEAT BELT. NO UNUSUAL PRESSURE OR STRAIN WAS PLACED ON THE SEAT BELT. THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE SEAT BELT HAS NEVER BEEN UNDER ANY STRAIN. IF YOU DISCOUNT THE LAP BELT PART OF THE SEAT BELT THE SHOULDER BELT STILL FUNCTIONS.
AFTER OWNING MY TRUCK FOR JUST OVER 2 YEARS AND 30K MILES, THE AC STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR. WHEN PURCHASED NEW AND FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS DRIVING IT, THE AC WORKED PERFECTLY, THIS HAPPENED FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE FOR A RESOLUTION, I CAME ACROSS MULTIPLE OTHER CHEVROLET OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE CULPRIT CAME TO BE KNOWN AS THE AC CONDENSER. IT IS KNOWN THAT THE CONDENSERS USED BY GM FOR THIS MODEL TRUCK HAVE WEAK WELDS AND THIS IS WHERE THE CONDENSER FAILS PRODUCING A SMALL LEAK. AS IT TURNS OUT, GM IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE WITH THE AC CONDENSERS ON THESE VEHICLES AND REFUSES TO COVER THEM UNDER WARRANTY AND WANTS TO CHARGE UPWARDS OF $1K DOLLARS TO REPLACE. I AM COMPLETELY UNSATISFIED WITH THIS CONSIDERING MY TRUCK IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD WITH UNDER 35K MILES ON IT. THIS IS TOO NEW OF A VEHICLE FOR THE AC TO BE HAVING PROBLEMS THAT ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
THE PAINT IS SO CHEAP ON THIS TRUCK EVERY TIME I LOOK IT IT HAS A NEW CHIP AND THE ROOF IS STARTING TO CRACK AND LOOK HORRIBLE TOOK IT TO CHEVY THEY SAY IT'S BIRDS IT'S GARAGE KEPT HAS 22000 MILES ON IT I NEVER REALLY DRIVE IT'S STARTING TO LOOK AS BAD AS MY 03 1500HD AND IT'S A WORK TRUCK
THIS TRUCK HAS THE 6.2 AND 8 SPD TRANS. I START IT UP IN THE GARAGE AND LET IT IDLE DOWN, BACK OUT OF THE GARAGE INTO THE STREET, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND FEEL IT ENGAGE, PUSH ON THE GAS AND IT DOESN'T MOVE FOR A FEW SECONDS OR NOW IT WILL MOVE BUT THEN WHEN IT TRIES TO DO THE 1-2 SHIFT IT WON'T SHIFT AND THE TRUCK STOPS MOVING FORWARD FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTIL IT FINALLY DOES SHIFT. I HAD IT IN TO THE DEALER AT 13K MILES AND THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE STATOR SUPPORT IN THE TRANS ALLOWING THE CONVERTER TO DRAIN SO THEY DID A PARTIAL TRANS REBUILD AND UPDATED THE PARTS. THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM IS SHOWING UP AGAIN ALONG WITH THE 1-2 SHIFT PROBLEM. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AT ABOUT 18K MILES AND THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY COULD REPRODUCE IT AND THE ISSUES IS CAUSED BY THE "CLUTCH" NOT BEING FILLED WITH FLUID AT THE TIME THE SHIFT IS TRYING TO HAPPEN. ONCE THE CLUTCH IS FULL...IT SHIFTS. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS IS A DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH GM AND THERE IS A BULLETIN OUT ON IT TELLING DEALERS THIS IS NORMAL AND TO NOT DO ANY REPAIRS TRYING TO FIX SO THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND PUT THE TRANS BACK INTO LEARN MODE SAID THEY WERE SORRY AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME. THIS CONDITION IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU EXPECT THE VEHICLE TO MOVE AND IT DOES NOT. THIS TRANSMISSION IS INSTALLED IN CHEVY, GMC, AND CADILLAC TRUCKS AND SUVS AND THERE MANY COMPLAINTS ON ALL OF THE POPULAR MESSAGE BOARDS ONLINE ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. SOME PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT ALMOST BEING HIT IN THE REAR BECAUSE THERE VEHICLE WON'T MOVE. THERE ARE MANY OTHER DOCUMENTED ISSUES WITH THE 8 SPD TRANS GM HAS BEEN USING IN THEIR TRUCKS AS WELL AND GM WILL NOT ADDRESS ANY OF THEM SAYING THAT THEY ARE ALL NORMAL. I HAVE TALKED TO PLENTY OF OTHER PEOPLE PERSONALLY THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES AS WELL AND NOT GETTING ANYWHERE.
IT SEEMS THAT MY VEHICLE IS LEAKING SOMEWHERE AROUND EITHER THE SUNROOF OR THE XM ANTENNA. I ALREADY HAD THE LEAK AROUND THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WHICH NOT ONLY FILLED THE LENS UP WITH WATER AND KEPT BLOWING BULBS FOR MY THIRD BRAKE LIGHT FIXED. BUT FROM THE RESEARCH I'VE DONE IT SEEMS THAT A LOT OF DIFFERENT YEAR AND MODELS OF THE SILVERADO HAVE BEEN DOING SO. BUT SOME HOW WHEN IT RAINS OR I WASH MY TRUCK OR GO THRU A CAR WASH I GET WATER DRIPPING FROM MY HEADLINER ONTO MY HEATED SEATS, DOWN BEHIND MY DASH AND WATER PUDDLING UP INTO MY FLOORBOARD, ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. WHEN THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WAS LEAKING MY WHOLE REAR FLOORBOARD WOULD BE COMPLETELY SOAKED. THE CONDENSATION ON MY WINDOWS WOULD MAKE IT HARD TO DRIVE AND BE ABLE TO SEE THRU THE WINDSHIELD, THE WATER DRIPPING ON ME WHILE DRIVING WAS A DISTRACTION ALSO AND IF I TURNED ON MY HEATED SEATS I SOMETIMES WOULD FEEL ELECTRICAL SHOCKS IN MY BUTT, AND THE FACT THAT I HAVE MOLD GROWING ON TOP OF MY HEADLINER AND IN MY CARPET MAKES MY TRUCK SMELL AND I'M SURE BREATHING THE MOLD IN ISN'T HEALTH FOR ME OR MY 10 YEAR OLD SON. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE LOCAL CHEVY PLACE AND THEY WON'T FIX IT DUE TO IT HAVING OVER 36,000 MILES YET I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH DOESN'T COVER THIS, MY INSURANCE COMPANY DOESN'T COVER IT EITHER.
ABOUT 41000 MILES ON MY TRUCK. I HAD BRAKING PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEED AT PARKING LOT. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR BECAUSE I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP DUE TO THE BRAKING ISSUE. I FELT LOOSING PRESSURE WHILE BRAKING. I HAD THIS ISSUE 3 TIMES. ON JULY 16, I NOTICED THE ISSUE THEN IT DID NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. BUT IT CAME BACK AGAIN ON AUGUST 31 AND SEPTEMBER 1. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED VACUUM PUMP. I FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAD SAME ISSUE BUT NO RECALL. I HAD TO SPENT ABOUT $500 FOR NEW VACUUM PUMP.

THE ENGINEERS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY AND NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.

ORIGINAL COMPLAINT # 11011865, SO I BROUGHT MY 2015 SILVERADO BACK TO MICHAELS CHEVROLET IN FRESNO AFTER THEY REPLACED MY RACK AND PINION. THE SECOND RACK HAD SAME ISSUE AFTER BEING ON TRUCK FOR THREE WEEKS. THIS TIME DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO REPLACE THE RACK. I NOTICED GM RECALLED OVER 800,000 2014 SILVERADO RECENTLY. I HAVE AN EARLY MODEL 2015 SILVERADO WHICH I LEARNED HAS THE SAME RACK AND PINION AS THE 2014'S. I ASKED THE DEALER IF THE RECALL COULD BE EFFECTING MY TRUCK AS WELL. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE UNSURE AND IT WAS POSSIBLE, HOWEVER THEY STILL REFUSED TO REPLACE THE RACK UNDER WARRANTY. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS AS A RESULT OF MY TRUCK HAVING A LEVELING KIT. POWER BRAKES STOP WORKING AT LOW SPEEDS. IT SEEMS THE VACUUM PUMP IS FAILING. SOMETIMES AT LOW SPEEDS THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES HARD AND REQUIRES ALOT OF EXTRA EFFORT TO STOP. I ALMOST RAN INTO THE REAR OF A CAR IN A DRIVE-THRU.

BRAKE SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY WHEN I DROVE AT LOW SPEED. I IGNORED IT ONCE IN JULY 2017. BUT I HAD SAME ISSUE AGAIN ON AUG. 31 AND SEP 1 AT THE PARKING LOT. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I FIXED MY ISSUE AT CHEVY DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED VACUUM PUMP. (~42000 MILES ON THE TRUCK)
MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 42,000 MILES ON IT. OVER THE COURSE OF 3 DAYS I NOTICED THE AIR CONDITIONER GO FROM BLOWING COLD AIR TO BLOWING WARMER AIR UNTIL IT NO LONGER WAS COLD. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE SYSTEM AND SAID THE AC CONDENSER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY, IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $1,300 TO FIX. THE PART IS ON BACKORDER FOR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS. THE CURRENT "FEEL LIKE" TEMPERATURE IN FLORIDA IS 106 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OUTSIDE. THAT WOULD BE A LONG TIME TO GO WITHOUT A/C WITHOUT A LOANER FROM THE DEALER, WHICH THE DEALER DID OFFER.
