POWER STEERING WENT OUT TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY AND THEY COULDN'T IDENTIFY A PROBLEM AND I WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE WHEN THEY RECEIVED IT
ONE MORNING WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 CHEVY SILVERADO, I NOTICED A MESSAGE ON THE DASH BOARD SCREEN WHICH READ "RIGHT REAR TAIL LIGHT SIGNAL FAILURE. I WENT TO THE NEAREST AUTO PARTS STORE AND PURCHASED REPLACEMENT BULBS AND NOTICED THAT THE BULBS WEREN'T THE PROBLEM. I ALSO CHECKED THE FUSES AND DID NOT FIND ANY BLOWN FUSES WHICH AGAIN WASN'T THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER THE RIGHT REAR TAIL LIGHT WILL TURN ON IF THE LIGHTS ARE ON BUT WILL NOT BLINK WHEN THE SIGNAL LIGHT IS ON OR IF THE BRAKES ARE ENGAGED. LATER THAT NIGHT I REALIZED THAT NONE OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WORKED EITHER; WEATHER THE LIGHT IS IN THE DOOR POSITION OR THE ON POSITION. I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT WITH THIS TRUCK BEING SO NEW WITH LESS THAN 45000 MILES, THESE PROBLEMS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING.
WHILE USING A SPARE KEY TO MY 2015 SILVERADO FOR THE ENTIRE DAY, AND DRIVING OVER 70 MILES, THE "ANTI-THEFT" WARNING LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE APPROX. 10 MILES WITH THE LIGHT ON AND WHILE TURNING OFF A BUSY ROAD, ACROSS ON-COMING TRAFFIC, THE TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. NO STEERING, NO FORWARD MOVEMENT, NOTHING. IT VIRTUALLY WENT DEAD! I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND TRY TO START IT AGAIN (THANK GOODNESS NO TRAFFIC COMING THROUGH AT THE TIME). AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT STARTED AGAIN AND I BEGAN TO DRIVE AROUND THE CORNER TO MY HOME, WHERE IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AGAIN, IN FRONT OF MY DRIVEWAY. HAD IT TOWED, AS I WAS NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING IT AGAIN. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS UNABLE TO CONCLUDE WHAT HAPPENED. THEY TESTED IT WITH THE SPARE KEY, AND STILL NO SIGN OF ANY TROUBLE. I AM RELUCTANT TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK.
I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CHEVY SILVERADO DYING OUT WHILE DRIVING WHEN I'M MAKING TURNS THAT WILL CAUSE THE TRUCK TO HAVE ERROR MESSAGES POPPING UP WITH REGARDS TO THE STABLE TRAC SENSOR, THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON, THE RADIO GOING IN AND OUT, AND THE AC GOING OUT/COMING BACK ON. WHILE BACKING UP THE TRUCK IS LOCKING UP ON ME, AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS JERKING OUT OF MY HANDS, WHICH WILL DYE OUT AS WELL. WHEN I GO TO START IT BACK UP THE TRUCK THEN GIVES ME AN ERROR MESSAGE OF ROLL DOWN THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW THAT YOU HAVE TO DO IN ORDER TO CLEAR IT OUT. I'VE CURRENTLY HAD THIS AT THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP THE PAST 6 MONTHS WITHOUT THEM BEING ABLE TO FIX THIS NUMEROUS TIMES.
THE 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO K1500 HIGH COUNTRY VIBRATES AND MAKES A LOUD HUMMING NOISE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS BEGINNING AT 20 MPH UP TO APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. THE VIBRATION CAN BE FELT THROUGH THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL. THE FREQUENCY AND SOUND LEVEL IS NOT DEPENDENT ON SPEED, LOAD OR ROAD CONDITIONS. IT'S ALWAYS THERE. I'M TAKING IT BACK TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER AGAIN TOMORROW FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF ATTEMPTED REPAIRS. AT FIRST THE DEALER SAID THE VIBRATION AND NOISE WAS NORMAL. AFTER SHOWING THEM A COPY OF THE GM SERVICE BULLETIN ' PI1354C, THEY NOW ADMIT TO A POTENTIAL ISSUE. STILL NOT SOLUTION.
VERY LOW SPEED IMPACT CAUSED TOTAL STEERING LOSS. TURNING RIGHT ONTO A STREET, IMPACTING A STATIONARY VEHICLE LOCATED THE PASSENGER SIDE. SPEED OF IMPACT WAS VERY LOW, BUT CAUSED STEERING LOSS. REPAIR ESTIMATE SHOWS FAILURE OF THE GEAR ASSY, STEERING. I HAVE A POLICE REPORT AND INSURANCE ESTIMATE FROM CHEVY DEALERSHIP, AND WILL PROVIDE THEM UPON REQUEST, BUT DO NOT WISH TO MAKE THEM PUBLIC.
AIR CONDITIONER STARTED BLOWING HOT AIR. TOOK TO DEALER THEY FOUND A WELD BROKEN LOOSE ON THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE CONDENSER CAUSING A LEAK. CURRENTLY GM CONDENSERS ARE ON BACK ORDER. DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING PROBLEM NATIONWIDE. THEY CHARGE ME TO REFILL THE SYSTEM WITH FREON (OR EQUIVALENT), 24 HOURS LATER IT HAS LEAKED OUT AND IS BLOWING HOT AIR AGAIN. DEALER GUESSED 3 TO 6 WEEKS BEFORE THEY WOULD GET THE REPLACEMENT PART IN. TRUCK HAS 68,000 MILES WITH COST GOING TO BE $1300.00. WE ALSO HAVE A 2015 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN WITH 74,000 MILES ON IT THAT HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. COST $1300.00 TO FIX.
TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SHIFT RIGHT BETWEEN 2 AND 3 AND ON DOWN SHIFTING. NEVER DROVE A VEHICLE THAT DOES THIS. WAS TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANS.
I WENT TO BACK OUT MY DRIVEWAY AT LOW SPEEDS AND THE BRAKES DID NOT APPLY. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THEY FAILED AGAIN. I APPLIED THE GAS AND WENT ON MY WAY THE BRAKES SEEMED TO WORK FINE. BUT FROM IDLE TO SLOW SPEEDS (1-10 MPH) THE BRAKES FAIL AND I HAVE TO PRESS THE BRAKE AS HARD AS I CAN OR IT WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL. HAVE DODGED SEVERAL CARS AT RED LIGHTS.
I LOSE THE POWER BRAKES IF I TOUCH THE PEDAL AT LOW SPEED MORE THAN A COUPLE OF TIMES. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC AND WHEN BACKING INTO A PARKING SPOT. IT IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF THE POWER BRAKES AND IR BARELY STOPS.
AT A LOW SPEED COMING INTO MY CARPORT THE BRAKES HAD A HARD PEDAL AND WOULD NOT STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS. 5-27-2017 AND AGAIN WHILE BACKING UP TO MY LAWN MOWER TAILOR ON 5-29-2017 . NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT YOU COULD NOT PRESS PEDAL DOWN AT ALL. ?????
I HAVE GOTTEN MANY NOTICES IN THE MAIL THAT THIS LEASED VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY RECALL (15822) - I HAVE CALLED MANY TIMES - ALWAYS GOES TO VOICE MAIL, I HAVE LEFT MANY MESSAGES, NO REPLY. I HAVE SENT THEM WEB MESSAGES - NO REPLY. I FEAR FOR OUR SAFETY. THEIR NUMBER IS 248-348-7000
THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE REAR PASSENGER TAIL LIGHTS HAS CORRODED. POINT OF CORROSION IS THE "CUP OR SOCKET" THAT THE TAIL LIGHT BULB IS INSERTED INTO. CORROSION FAILURE OCCURRED AT 28 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP OF THE NEW VEHICLE. SOCKET DID NOT HAVE ANY TYPE OF CORROSION PREVENTING DIELECTRIC GREASE PRESENT AS I HAVE TYPICALLY SEEN IN TAIL LIGHT CONNECTIONS.UNFORTUNATELY, SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS AT 40,000 MILES IT WAS CONSIDERED OUT OF WARRANTY AND ALL EXPENSE FOR REPAIR OF DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING. DEALERSHIP ALSO RECOMMENDED THE REPLACEMENT OF A SOCKET WITH FIELD SOLDIERING RATHER THAN REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE WIRE HARNESS WHICH SEEMS LIKE A SOLUTION TO CREATE MORE CORROSION ISSUES. CORROSION CAUSED THE LOSS OF TAIL LIGHTS ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO LACK OF WARNING/INDICATION FROM VEHICLES BEHIND.
AT APPROXIMATELY 45K MILES, TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE AT 70 MPH. ISSUE ONLY OCCURS ON HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATES WHERE 70MPH CAN BE DRIVEN SAFELY. NOW HAS 52K MILES. DEALER HAD ACCESSORIZED TRUCK WITH OVERSIZE WHEELS/TIRES & LIFT KIT. I BOUGHT IT THIS WAY. WAS SMOOTH UNTIL ABOUT 45K MILES. MY TIRES ARE STILL GOOD, BUT I WILL REPLACE BEFORE 60K MILES INTERNET SEARCHING REVEALED MUCH INFORMATION REGARDING "CHEVY SHAKE" ISSUE WITH GM FULL SIZE TRUCKS AND SUV'S. I BELIEVE MINE IS AFFECTED BY THE 'CHEVY SHAKE' MYSTERY PROBLEM. WILL BE TAKING TO DEALER FOR REGULAR SERVICE 7/21/17 AND ADVISING THEM OF THIS ISSUE. THEY WILL LIKELY BLAME IT ON AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT/SUSPENSION/WHEELS/TIRES, EVEN THOUGH THE DEALERSHIP ACCESSORIZED THE TRUCK WHEN NEW THROUGH A SPECIALTY SHOP. I BOUGHT WARRANTIES THAT SUPPOSEDLY COVER ALL OF THE TRUCK, EVEN THE STUFF DEALER HAD THE SPECIALTY SHOP PUT ON IT.
TRUCK SHAKES WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. IT ISN'T NOTICEABLE ON SIDE STREETS IN THE CITY BUT WHEN TRAVELING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY THE ENTIRE TRUCK SHAKES SOMETIMES AT LOWER SPEEDS BUT ALWAYS ABOVE 70-75 MILES PER HOUR. IT SHAKES SO VIOLENTLY THAT A DRINK IN THE CONSOLE WILL SHAKE OUT OF IT'S CONTAINER. I'VE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES BUT THE CHEVROLET SERVICE CENTER CANNOT FIX IT. THEY HAVE BALANCED AND REPLACED TIRES BUT CANNOT FIX IT. I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE OR COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE RENDERING IT UNSAFE.
FRONT BRAKES ON LEFT SIDE STICK AND WEAR UNEVENLY AND RAPIDLY. I HAVE HAD FRONT BRAKES REPLACED TWICE WITH 80% PAD LIFE ON RIGHT SIDE BY MIDAS. MIDAS STATED THAT THERE IS A SERVICE ADVISORY TO REPLACE THE LEFT SIDE PISTON/CALIPER AND A NEW HOSE WHICH IS LARGER ALLOWING THE BRAKES TO RELEASE PROPERLY.
MY TRUCK HAS BEEN MODIFIFED BY EITHER A POWERFUL ENTITY OR BY THE DEALERSHIP ITSELF AT THE DIRECTION OF A POWERFUL ENTITY. TRUCK HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS. I BOUGHT FROM SAME DEALERSHIP OUT OF SHOW ROOM AND TRUSTED THEM. AFTER ACCIDENT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I COULDNT FIGURE OUT WHY. SEE BURN MARKS AROUND EDGES OF AIRBAGS ALONG WITH CONDUCTIVE STRING SEW INTO THEM. ALSO NOTICED EXTRA CONDUCTORS ADDED ALONG WITH EXTRA INSULATOR LAYER. CIGARETTE OUTLETS ALL MANIPULATED AFTER REPLACED WITH HIGHER OUTPUT PLUGS. ALSO FOUND AIR BAG SENSORS WHICH ARE DISCONTINUTED AS THEY BELONG TO TRUCKS FROM 2007-2009. FRAME IS FOR A 1TON TRUCK WHICH HAS BEENGREASED FRONT TO BACK. AXELS ARE CLEARLY OLDER AND ARE LABELED FOR A CK2500 (1 TOM) MODEL DRIVE SHAFT AND MANY OTHER COMPONENTS HAVE MARKINGS THROUGHOUT TO ESTABLISH PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE TO GUIDE SHORT OF ELECTRICITY TO DRIVER TO SHOCK ME. MODLES MODFIFIED TO GAIN ACCESS TO TRUCK. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. YOU GUYS HAVE TO SEE THIS TRUCK IN PERSON. WAY TOO UCH TO LIST. DEALERSHIP HAD IT LONG TIME TO DO REPAIRS. WHEN TAKEN BACK TO THEM TO FIGURE OUT HWY THE LOUD SHAKES, THE DEALERSHP CERTIFIED SHOP TECH STATED EVERYTHING IS PERFECTL NORMAL. THAT WA S A LIE.EEWWDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUEFU

BRAKE SYSTEM FAILS AT LOW IDLE SPEED. WHEN TRUCK IS PUT IN GEAR THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES STIFF AND VEHICLE CANNOT STOP. BRAKE PEDAL ALSO DOES THIS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. CHEVROLET SAYS THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. HOW IS THIS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE? THE PROBLEM IS A MECHANICAL PUMP CALLED A POWER BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP. WE WERE TOLD THIS CAN BE REPLACED FOR $1100 AND IS NOT A WARRANTED PART. THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP BRAKE PRESSURE AT LOW SPEED IS TO HOLD YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND GIVE VEHICLE GAS TO INCREASE THE RPM'S. HOW IS THIS SAFE?
IN DECEMBER 2018 WHILE IN A PARKING LOT AT LOW SPEED, BRAKES WERE APPLIED. BRAKE PEDAL WENT ABOUT HALFWAY THEN BECAME "HARD." THERE WAS NO BRAKING POWER AND BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. THIS WAS ASSOCIATED WITH A "CLICKING" NOISE. WHEN CAR ROLLED TO A STOP I STARTED MOVING AGAIN AND REAPPLIED THE BRAKES. SAME RESULT BOTH IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN IN A PARKING LOT ON APRIL 11, 2017. MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 83,000 MILES. TOOK IT TO A CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY STATED THE ISSUE WAS THE VACUUM PUMP AND RECOMMENDED REPAIRS ACCORDING TO THEIR PIT5361D. HOWEVER THEY STATED THAT GM RECENTLY PUBLISHED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY WARRANTY THE FIX UP TO 72,000 MILES. I HAVE NOT HAD THE REPAIR COMPLETED YET.
UNDER ACCELERATION AND CRUISING HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE VIBRATES AND SHAKES. IT IS FELT IN THE FLOORBOARDS, SEATS, PEDALS, STEERING WHEEL AND IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK. VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES GETTING ALIGNMENTS, WHEEL BALANCES, AND PICO SCOPE TESTS. UNDER MY OWN INVESTIGATION I FOUND THE FACTORY DRIVESHAFT WAS NOT STRAIGHT, OUT OF ROUND AND OUT OF BALANCE SO I HAD A PROFESSIONAL DRIVELINE SHOP BUILD ME A NEW ONE. ALSO UNDER MY OWN INVESTIGATION I FOUND THE REAR AXEL HUB FLANGES WERE OUT OF ROUND AS WELL AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAD REPLACED THEM. VIBRATION STILL EXISTS AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO ANSWERS COMING FROM GM.
THE TRUCK SHAKES AT SPEEDS OF FROM 35 MPH, THEN IT STOPS AND WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 60 AND 70 ON THE THRUWAY IT SHAKES AGAIN. THE VIBRATION IS TRANSFERRED THROUGH THE GAS PEDEL AND INTO THE SEATS AND CONSOLE. ALSO WHEN BRAKEING IT SHAKES. ITS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. ALSO THE VOLTAGE METER DROPS AND I LOSE DASH BOARD LIGHTS.THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. I'M TIRED OF LOSEING VALUABLE DAYS OFF TO DRIVE UP TO DENOOYER CHEVY IN ALBANY TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT THIS AGAIN. THE TRUCK TRAVELS STRAIGHT AND TRUE BUT SHAKES AT THOSE SPEEDS, SOMETIME IT MAKES A DROWNING SOUND AS IT HAPPENS.ITS IN THE FRONT END PART OF THE SUSPENSION I BELIEVE. THE TIRES WERE ALL HIGH SPEED BALANCED AND AIR IS PERFECT IN ALL 4 TIRES. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS?
IT BEGAN WITH THE HEADLIGHTS/PARKING LIGHTS FLICKERING FOR A FEW WEEKS. LATER THE TRUCK BEGAN TO GIVE ERROR MESSAGES ABOUT STABILITY CONTROL, TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL, AND OTHERS. FINALLY IT VIOLENTLY JERKED THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF MY HANDS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS (TRUCK HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING). THIS HAPPENED AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH IN VARIOUS TURNS BUT I AM CONCERNED IT COULD HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHICH WOULD CAUSE A SERIOUS CRASH AND/OR DEATH. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WITH MY FAMILY MEMBERS ON BOARD.
WHILE DRIVING MY FAMILY, I LOST OVER 90% OF MY STOPPING POWER WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY ON AN OFF RAMP. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED WHEN I HAD ALREADY SLOWED DOWN OFF THE RAMP TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY (AND NOT JUST MOMENTS BEFORE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY). AFTER EXTREME CAUTION AND SMART USE OF DOWN-SHIFTING AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY NAVIGATE INTO A PARKING LOT THAT WAS REALLY CLOSE TO WHERE THE INCIDENT FIRST HAPPENED. AFTER HAVING THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY DEALER, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WAS A VACUUM PUMP FAILURE AND REPLACED IT (NOTE THAT THEY OFFERED NO OTHER EXPLANATION OTHER THAN WHAT FAILED AND THAT IT WAS FIXED). THE TRUCK SEEMS TO BE OKAY FOR NOW, BUT I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY (AND MY FAMILY'S) SAFETY AND OVERALL RELIABILITY OF THIS TRUCK. WHO'S TO SAY IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN WHILE I'M IN A MORE HIGH-SPEED SITUATION?
ALL AUDIO STOPS WORKING. THE RADIO IS ON AND THE DIGITAL INFO IS CHANGING WITH THE STATION. BUT THERE IS NO AUDIO.. ALL THE WARNING SOUNDS AND THE DIRECTIONAL SOUND ARE NOT PRESENT. A FEW TIMES I WAS ABLE TO SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTART IT AND THAT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE.. BUT NOW THAT DOESN'T EVEN WORK. I DO NOTICE THAT IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS VERY COLD..
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH the "loss of power steering" warning illuminated. The contact felt the steering wheel was hard to turn to the left or right. The contact was able to stop the vehicle and turn the vehicle off, when he turned the vehicle on the power steering was engaged, however, the failure was reoccurring. The contact stated that failure was also occurring at any speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the power steering system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering), however the vehicle was not part of the VIN selection. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY STARTED AND CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ITSELF. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL I HEAR A CLUNKING/GRINDING NOISE. ON 7/07/2017 I BROUGHT IT IN TO MICHAELS CHEVROLET LOCATED IN FRESNO, CA REGARDING THE ISSUE. THE CLUNKING/GRINDING NOISE IS MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN STATIONARY AND TURNING WHEEL RIGHT AND LEFT AND WHILE BACKING. YOU DON'T REALLY HEAR IT MUCH WHILE DRIVING.

LASTLY, THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY CHANGED FROM 27,000 TO 60,000 FROM MARCH OF 2017 UNTIL THE PRESENT DATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED AT MCGRATH CHEVROLET IN CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA WHERE IT WAS DETERMIND THAT THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS IN THE VEHICLE WAS FAULTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND I AM TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TRIES TO PULL BACK MIDLINE FOR ABOUT A SECOND OR TWO THEN GOES BACK TO WHERE IT WAS PREVIOUSLY TURNED TO. WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK UP ON SUNDAY I HAD TO RE-ENTER THE TIME IN THE RADIO BUT ALL STATIONS WERE STILL PROGRAMED INTO IT. I NOTICED WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON AND IT MAKES THAT NOISE THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKER A LITTLE BIT. ON THE WAY INTO WORK THIS MORNING THAT NOISE WAS NOT THERE BUT DURING A TURN ON THE INTERSTATE THE STEERING WHEEL TRIED THREE OR FOUR TIMES TO RETURN TO MIDLINE DURING THE TURN. IT HAPPENS SO FAST THAT IS IS FINISHED JUST ABOUT THE TIME YOU CAN REACT TO IT.
LOSS OF BRAKING POWER. HARD, STIFF BRAKE PEDAL TYPICALLY OCCURS AT SLOWER SPEEDS OR WHILE REPEATED BRAKING IN A SHORT TIME FRAME. THIS HAS HAPPENED SPORADICALLY OVER THE LIFETIME OF THE TRUCK.

L86 ENGINE GOES THROUGH 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 5000 MILES. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 10K MILES. IT HAS USED OIL SINCE DAY ONE.
I purchased a Brand new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Z71 in2015. While still paying on this vehicle I had an issue with the engine bogging down and it would almost die. It would jerk and shake terribly to the point it just shut down. I took to Royal Chevrolet and they found that it had a broken Valve spring on Cyl 7. This went on and on they had this vehicle for a total of almost 7 months before they put 1 last engine in it. The 1st thing I did was drove down From Michigan to North Carolina to visit my daughter. Plenty of Mountains and a lot of driving as I drove 14 hours straight by myself. The engine that they had just put in started Chugging and choking and it stalled on the highway going through the mountains and I was hit in the rear end and the other driver never stopped. I managed to get it running again. Prior to leaving for North Carolina I ordered what they call a tuner where I could deactivate the AFM system and stay in 8 Cyl mode at all times. I had it sent to her house. I installed the program. Keeping in mind #1 I was rear ended. And every single time there was an issue it was Cyl#7 on all the previous engines. I talked to the Lead man at Royal chevrolet about all the issues and he said they know all about it and its a joke. They tried it on Cadillacs back in 1975 and recalled every one of them and turned it off. On my way back home not 1 single issue in fact and I sill have it displayed on my dashboard I actually got 26.2 Miles per gallon in V-8 mode in the mountains. I have driven to NC every year since before I even owned that truck and have never seen milage before or since. The AFM system is nothing but a ploy to get people to buy junk. Could someone been killed? Most certainly. I told the manager 1 more engine and I have a Friend cut stickers of lemons out and put at the main 4 corners in our town. I still have that truck and currently have 128,000 miles on it and I had to pay $600.00 to fix it myself. And GM thinks its a joke. I called GM
2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO HIGH COUNTRY LOW BEAM HEADLAMP PERFORMANCE IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. THEY ARE A PROJECTOR STYLE HEADLAMP CONFIGURATION WHICH EMITS A VERY FOCUSED BEAM OF LIGHT THAT IS SO NARROW FROM SIDE TO SIDE THAT WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN YOU HAVE EXTREMELY LIMITED PERIPHERAL VISION. THE BEAM OF LIGHT IS FAR ENOUGH AHEAD OF THE TRUCK AND HAS SUCH A SHARP CUTOFF LINE, YOU CANNOT SEE IF THERE IS ANYBODY STANDING ON THE SIDEWALK WAITING TO CROSS. IT'S ALSO VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE WHERE YOU CAN TURN FROM STREET TO STREET BECAUSE THERE AGAIN IS SUCH A LIMITED FIELD OF LIGHT PROJECTED. OVERALL THE HEADLAMPS ARE VERY DIM. HIGH BEAM PERFORMANCE IS ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE BOTH THE LOW AND HIGH BEAMS LAMPS ARE ON AT THE SAME TIME. THE HIGH BEAM LAMP IS A COMPLEX REFLECTOR CONFIGURATION THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR DECADES AND WORKS WELL. IT'S UNFORTUNATE THAT HIGH BEAMS ARE USED VERY LITTLE BECAUSE OF THE OTHER CARS AND TRUCKS ON THE ROAD. IT'S A SHAME THAT A PICKUP WITH A LIST PRICE OF OVER $50,000 HAS SUCH POOR HEADLAMPS.

BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE AND SOFT AT TIMES, AND OTHER TIMES FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE NOT RELEASING ALL THE WAY MAKING IT PULL LEFT/RIGHT RANDOMLY AND VERY HARD TO CONTROL. OCCASIONALLY THE ABS ACTIVATES WHILE NOT MOVING/PARKED JUST BY BY HOLDING BRAKE PEDAL. ALSO FOUND OIL OF SOME KIND IN BRAKE FLUID DURING ROUTINE FLUSH. VACUUM PUMP MAKES QUITE A BIT OF NOISE.
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT LOCK WHEN INSERTED IN THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER WHILE IT IS STATIONERY IT HAS TO BE INSERTED TWO OR MORE TIMES BEFORE IT CASHES. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO OCCASIONS WHEN IT WAS TAKEN THERE FOR MAINTENANCE AND WE WERE TOLD WE HAD TO PAY FOR IT TO BE REPLACED. SO NOW MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING WITH A SEAT BELT THAT WILL NOT STAY LOCKED IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.. ALSO I DON'T HAVE THE EXACT DATES BUT IT WAS REPORTED IN 2017.
I HAVE THE SPECIAL RALLY EDITION OF THIS TRUCK IN WHICH COMES WITH 22" BLACK ALUMINUM RIMS. AFTER 33K MILES AND 18 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP WITH ONLY ON ROAD DRIVING. 3 OF THE 4 LOW PROFILE RIMS HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO SIGNIFICANT CRACKING. AT FIRST THE SYMPTOM WAS VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THEN MY RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WOULD NOT HOLD A BEAD TO THE RIM. DURING THE INSPECTION OF THE RIGHT FRONT THE CRACK WAS NOTED AND THEN ALL FOUR TIRES WERE CHECK. THIS LEAD TO THE REPLACEMENT OF 3 OUT OF 4. I'M STILL WAITING FOR CHEVY TO CLARIFY IF THIS WILL BE A WARRANTY REPLACEMENT. ALL MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE WAS DONE BY A AUTHORIZED DEALER. *TR
THE LOW BEAM LIGHTING ON THE CHEVROLET 1500 HIGH COUNTRY PROJECTOR STYLE HEADLAMPS IS VERY POOR. LOW LIGHT OUTPUT AND WHAT LIGHT THERE IS IN VERY NARROWLY FOCUSED IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK. LITTLE OR NO LIGHTING TO THE SIDES WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE WHEN MAKING A TURN.
THE 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO HIGH COUNTRY COMES STANDARD WITH A GOODYEAR EAGLE LS-2, SIZE: P275/55R20. THE WET AND DRY TRACTION OF THIS MODEL OF GOODYEAR TIRE IS POOR AT BEST. ON WET ROAD SURFACES, THE TIRES BREAK TRACTION ON CORNERS AND UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION. SNOW TRACTION IS NON-EXISTENT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE MUD AND SNOW RATED. THESE TIRES ARE A SAFETY HAZARD.
I BOUGHT A GM CERTIFIED SILVERADO WITH 20000 MILE ON IT. AND THE IDLE VIBRATION AND DRIVE VIBRATION ARE SO BAD IT GIVES ME HEADACHES AFTER DRIVING FOR ANY PERIOD OVER AN HOUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
