WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, THE DRIVE SHAFT BROKE OFF. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL. LUCKILY, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SIDE SHOULDER WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE DRIVE SHAFT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL, BUT NO ONE (EVEN WHEN I CONTACTED GM PRIORITY CARE) COULD INFORM ME WHY THIS HAPPENED. WITH ME HAVING TWO SMALL KIDS, I AM STILL CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR
SEAT BELT RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED AND RUBBER SKIRTING AROUND TENSIONER CABLE WAS CUT AWAY LEAVING RAGGED EDGES THAT EXPOSES THE CABLE AND SHEATH TO EXCESSIVE WEAR. IT IS ALSO COSMETICALLY UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER PENETRATED THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOORBOARD WHEN IT RAINED OR WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THROUGH A CAR WASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER (LOCATED AT 128 DERBY STREET HINGHAM, MA 02043 PHONE (781) 749-1950) SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PASSENGER DOOR SEAL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND WATER CONTINUED TO PENETRATE THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOORBOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,235.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BETWEEN 58 AND 74 MPH, THERE IS A VIBRATION THAT SHAKES THE TRUCK. MY FIRST TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID 3 OF THE 4 TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACE, WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE TRUCK HAD APPROXIMATELY 3500 MILES, WHEN I TOOK IT THE FIRST TIME. THE PROBLEM WAS STABLE FOR A FEW THOUSAND MILES, AND THEN STARTED TO GET BAD, I CALLED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT, AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A WEEK NOW, AND THEY HAVE REPLACE THE ONE TIRE THAT WASN'T ORGINALLY REPLACED. THEY ALSO SAID THEY ARE LOOKING AT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.
SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. CHEVY WENT FROM OFFERING TO LEMON LAW IT OUT TO SITTING BACK WAITING ON AN INTEL TO FINISH KILLING ME. THEY SABOTAGED TRUCK OR ITS A HORRIBLE PROBLEM. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT 45 MPG FRON TEND COLLISSION. I COULD HAVE DIED. THEY DONT CARE. 1 YEAR LATER, NO ONE CAME TO LOOK AT IT. THEY DELAY ME DAY ATER DAY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MERGE TO THE RIGHT LANE, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A MINOR INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE AND WAS TOWED. THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. AFTER THE REPAIRS, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND DID NOT DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE ON THE ROAD. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE SEAT BELTS SHOCKED HIM WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS EXPOSED AND THE AIR BAG SHOWED BURN MARKS AROUND THE EDGES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
FRONT BRAKES COMPLETELY WORN AT 12,000 MILES. DEALER REPLACED ROTORS AND PADS FREE OF CHARGE. VEHICLE NOW HAS 20,000 MILES ON IT, AND FRONT PADS ARE WORN PREMATURELY AGAIN.
Upon purchasing a New 2015 Silverado my factory paint started pealing around the rear doors approx. 1 year after owning the truck. Upon first sight of the pealing paint I took the truck back to the GM dealer and pointed out the 2 rear doors and the flaking paint. They told me that since I was out of bumper to bumper warranty coverage and over the 36,000 mile warranty they couldn't do anything for me. The issue was getting worse so I took it back again and this time I went through GM Corp. and they offered to give me a discount on the paint job to fix the issue. I'm sorry but a discount on a FACTORY PROBLEM is NOT ACCEPTABLE....especially if its going to cost me $2,000 of my own money to fix a GM PROBLEM!!!!
THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A PAVED ROADWAY. I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING PRIOR TO INCIDENT. GM STATES THAT THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE TRUCK. I WAS THANKFULLY NOT INJURED AND NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED. THERE IS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK AT ALL. GM HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY. THE RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS HAD BEEN "FIXED" BY BOB HOWARD DEALERSHIP IN OKLAHOMA CITY THE MONTH BEFORE THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE SEATBELT RECALL WAS ALSO FIXED THE MONTH BEFORE AS WELL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WHEN REVERSING UP A DRIVEWAY THE TRUCK WILL STALL AS THE GAS IS PRESSED IT WILL REV UP BUT NOT GO ANYWHERE, THEN JUMP INTO REVERSE AS IF THE PETAL WAS FLOORED. ALSO SOME TIMES WHEN ENTERING THE HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SHIFT INTO THE CORRECT GEARS ALSO JUMPING INTO GEAR WHICH COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND COLLIDED HEAD ON WITH A TREE LIMB. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE ROLL SENSORS WERE ACTIVATED CAUSING BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS TO ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOY. NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,420.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER SHIFTING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
SUBJECT VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING SOUTH AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE LEFT LANE AT AN INTERSECTION OF TWO 4 LANE HIGHWAYS. THERE WAS A SEMI TRUCK STOPPED BESIDE IT IN THE RIGHT LANE THAT PROCEEDED TO GO AND TURN RIGHT ON THE RED LIGHT. WHEN THE SEMI TRUCK STARTED MOVING, DRIVER OF SUBJECT VEHICLE THOUGHT THE LIGHT HAD CHANGED AND PROCEEDED SOUTH AND STRUCK THE DRIVER SIDE OF ANOTHER TRUCK THAT WAS TRAVELING EAST THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. DRIVER SUFFERED HEAD INJURY RESULTING IN PARALYSIS. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. VIN INDICATES VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO RECALL #16V651 (AIRBAG SENSOR SOFTWARE DEFECT). OWNER SAYS NO NOTICE HAS BEEN RECEIVED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE FAILED TO OBEY A STOP SIGN. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK, NECK, LEG, ARM, AND HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V651000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
ON SEPT 21 2016 I ARRIVED AT MY HOME. I DROVE UP MY GRAVEL DRIVEWAY IN D(DRIVE) AND SLOWED TO A STOP AND MY TRUCK BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARD UNDER MY CONTROL. I WAS CHECKING ON THE GROUND FOR LAWN DAMAGE. THE TRUCK SHUTTERED TWICE, SHUT OFF AND STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARD TOWARD A TREE. I QUICKLY REGAINED CONTROL WITH A PANIC STOP. I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE TRUCK IN PARK AND RESTART THE TRUCK. I HAD LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK.
TRUCK BEGAN TO HAVE THE CHEVY SHAKES ABOUT THE 12K MILE POINT AND HAS INCREASINGLY GOTTEN WORSE THE MORE MILEAGE THE TRUCK GAINS ( CURRENTLY 14K MILES) I HAVE CALLED AND TALKED TO TECHNICIANS ABOUT THIS AND THEY ENSURED ME THAT ITS NORMAL. I'VE OWNED SEVERAL TRUCKS AND I HAVE NEVER NOT BEEN ABLE TO GO OVER SPEEDS OF 55 WITHOUT HAVING TERRIBLE SHAKES AND WOBBLES IN MY TRUCK. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROPERLY AND FIX THE ISSUE OR BUY BACK THE TRUCKS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE, WHEN A PERSON SPENDS 50K + ON A VEHICLE THIS SHOULD BE THE LAST THING THE SHOULD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IS FEELING SAFE IN THEIR VEHICLE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVROLET PRODUCT AGAIN DUE TO NOT ONLY THIS BUT A NUMBER OF OTHER ISSUES I HAVE WITH THE TRUCK INCLUDING HARD SHIFTING AND EXTREME LACK OF POWER. *TR
WHILE ON A DIRT ROAD DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED, THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AND NO OTHER DAMAGE OCCURRED. GM SENT A 3RD PARTY TO EVALUATE THE VEHICLE AND DECLARED THE WARRANTY VOID SINCE WE HAD INSTALLED A 4" LIFT KIT. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR TAKATA AIRBAGS ON THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK BUT GM SAYS THIS IS UNRELATED. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH OF 2016 AND HAD 5089 MILES WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. HOW CAN GM DENY THIS CLAIM. SHOULDN'T THEY HAVE TO PROVE THAT THE LIFT KIT CAUSED THE DEPLOYMENT IF THAT IS THEIR REASON FOR DENIAL? NO WHERE IN THE WARRANTY INFORMATION DOES IT STATE INSTALLING A LIFT KIT CAN CAUSE THE SIDE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. NO WHERE ON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED FROM THE LIFT KIT MANUFACTURER DOES IT STATE YOUR WARRANTY COULD BE VOID IF YOU INSTALL THE KIT. THIS ISN'T RIGHT. ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
8-SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS STRANGE AND CLUNKS DURING SLOWDOWN/SPEED UP. DRIVETRAIN FEELS LOOSE AT TIMES AND DEALER DOESN'T ACKNOWLEDGE ANYTHING ISWRONG. ALSO AFTER TAKING OFF IN MORNING SHIFTING INTO SECOND GEAR THERE IS A HESITATION AND POWER DROP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A COMMUNICATION ERROR IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
TOOK MY 2015 SILVERADO 1500 IN FOR THE SEAT BELT RECALL. WHEN I PICKED IT UP IT APPEARS THAT THEY JUST CUT THE RUBBER DUST PROTECTOR TO ENLARGE THE HOLE. ON NEW UNSOLD TRUCKS THEY STATED THAT THEY WILL REPLACE THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY WHY NOT ON OUR NEW TRUCKS!. I SPENT OVER 40K ON MY TRUCK FOR THIS HACK JOB! I THINK GM SHOULD REPLACE ALL OF THESE WITH NEW AS THIS IS TERRIBLE WORKMANSHIP!
MY HEAD LIGHTS, BOTH HI AND LOW ARE TO DEEM TO DRIVE SAFELY AT NIGHT,WHEATHER I AM ON THE INTERSTATE OR IN THE COUNTRY SIDE.
MY 2015 SILVERADO 1500 IS EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER LS-2 TIRES, IN SIZE 265/65R18. WHEN DRIVING IN WET WEATHER, TAKING A MILD RIGHT OR LEFT HAND TURN CAN RESULT IN COMPLETE LOSS OF TRACTION, RESULTING IN THE TRUCK SPINNING 90 TO 180 DEGREES. THIS HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS - YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE DRIVING AT A SPEED THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD DEEM AS UNSAFE. IN WET WEATHER THE TIRES ACT AS THOUGH YOU ARE DRIVING ON ICE, VERY LITTLE WET WEATHER TRACTION, RESULTING IN THE POSSIBILITY OF LOSS OF CONTROL. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AT LEAST 6 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS, AND HAVE LITTLE CONFIDENCE IN THESE TIRES. I FEEL THEY ARE A SAFETY HAZARD, AND I AM CONCERNED THAT I COULD BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF THE LACK OF WET WEATHER TRACTION WITH THESE TIRES.
I OWN A GRAY 2015 SILVERADO AND THE PAINT IS FLAKING OFF ON NUMEROUS SPOTS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. THE FLAKES ARE THE SIZE OF A PIN HEAD AND APPEAR TO BE MAINLY AROUND THE GRILL AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO ACTIVATE THE POWER STEERING ASSIST. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE POWER STEERING ELECTRICAL MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONSIDERED AN ELEMENTAL FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. LOSS CONTROL WHILE AVOIDING A DEER. SLID INTO DITCH. HIT A DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE. WAS AIRBORNE APPROX. 15 YARDS. NOSE DIVED INTO THE GROUND AND WENT BACK ACROSS THE DITCH INTO A FIELD, TURNED LEFT AND WENT INTO A WOODED AREA OF PINES. LEFT FRONT FENDER MADE CONTACT WITH A PINE ( ABOUT EIGHT INCHES THICK ) PARTIALLY UP ROOTING AND CONTINUED ON TO WEDGE BETWEEN TWO PINES. AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT TIGHTEN UP SO TIGHT THAT I HAD TO USE A FAIRLY LARGE SCREW DRIVE, THAT I HAD IN THE CENTER CONSOLE, TO BEAT THE RELEASE IN ORDER TO UNLOCK THE SEAT BELT. WITH THE VEHICLE GETTING AIRBORNE AND NOSE DIVING INTO THE GROUND AND THE IMPACT OF THE LEFT FRONT FENDER INTO THE TREE, THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING SOUTH EAST ON A HIGHWAY IT WAS APPROX. 9:30 PM.
WHILE IN MOTION, I'VE NOTICED A SHAKING COMING FROM THE REAR END OF MY 2015 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 DOUBLE CAB. MY TRUCK SITS ON FACTORY 20 INCH RIMS. I'VE HAD THE WHEELS BALANCED WHEN I REPLACED THE TIRES. SHAKING CONTINUES. SHAKING MORE NOTICEABLE AFTER REACHING SPEEDS OF 60 M.P.H. AND ABOVE. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER OF THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM THAT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE BUT THERE IS NO FIX OR SOLUTION. THE SHAKING FIRST STARTED AFTER THE TRUCK REACHED 10,000 MILES AND HAS NOT GOTTEN ANY BETTER IN THE PAST 5,500 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS PERSISTING AND POSSIBLY GETTING WORSE.
VEHICLE WAS IN FOUR WHEN DRIVE LOW STOPPED AND GOT OUT TO OPEN A GATE HEARD A LOU POP LOOKED BACK IT WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS WENT ABOUT 200 FEET WITH A TRAILER HOOKED TO IT THE TRAILER FLIPPED AROUND HIT THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK MADE ANOTHER LOUD SOUND AND IT STOPPED. WE ARE BEING TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. ANOTHER TIME HAD IT IN LOW FOUR WHEN DRIVE AND IT KEPT ROLLING IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. AND WHEN WE GOT TO IT THE GEAR SHIFT WAS STILL IN PARK.
CHECK TRAILER WIRING WARNING - WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS, WEATHER, SMOOTH VERSUS ROUGH ROADS, WHILE PULLING TWO DIFFERENT TRAILERS, THE TRUCK INDICATES TO CHECK THE WIRING AND 1 SECOND LATER IT INDICATED THE TRAILER IS CONNECTED. IT MAY HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN A MILE AND THEN NOT OCCUR FOR 50 MILES. ONE TIME THERE WAS A MESSAGE TO CHECK THE BRAKE CONTROLLER. THIS HAPPENS EACH TIME I HOOK A TRAILER UP TO THE TRUCK. TRUCK IS AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK. 6 MONTHS AGO WHEN I PULLED THE SAME TRAILERS WITH MY 2012 CHEVY PICKUP, I DID NOT HAVE THIS CONCERN. ONLY STARTED WITH THE NEW TRUCK. IS A CONCERN WHEN THE TRAILER BRAKES DO NOT WORK DURING THIS TIME. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHEN I TOW MY TRAVEL TRAILER AGAIN.
TRAILER NOT CONNECT WARNING
I BOUGHT THE CAR THREE DAYS EARLIER. THE VEHICLE HAS 4800 MILES ON IT. IT IS A CERTIFIED USED TRUCK. I WAS DRIVING ON A CURVY ROAD ON THE SIDE OF A SMALL MOUNTAIN. WHILE DRIVING, I NOTICED THE STEERING GETTING A LITTLE PLAY IN IT, NOT MUCH EVER SO SLIGHT. WHEN I GOT TO THE 90 DEGREE LEFT TURN, ONTO ANOTHER ROAD, I FOUND I HAD LOST THE ABILITY TO TURN THE VEHICLE. THE TRUCK STARTED TOWARD THE TREES. I HIT THE BRAKES AND GAVE IT ALL I HAD, MUSCLE WISE, IN ORDER TO MAKE THE TURN. I PULLED OVER AND REGAINED MY COM-POSHER. I DID NOTICE THERE WAS A MESSAGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING AND TO BE CAREFUL DRIVING, I DID NOT NOTICE THAT MESSAGE BEFORE THE INCIDENT. I THEN PROCEEDED TO DRIVE TO TO THE DEALERSHIP VERY SLOWLY WITH THE FLASHERS ON. I ONLY HAD TO MAKE FIVE TURNS AND EIGHT MILES TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE STEERING WAS MAKING ALL KINDS OF NOISES AND JERKY MOTIONS. THERE WAS NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE DONE TO THE VEHICLE DURING THIS INCIDENT. I JUST WONDER WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPEN IF MY WIFE OR ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS WERE DRIVING.
THE PAINT IS HORRIBLE. CHIPPING AND FLAKING OFF OF THE TRUCK.

STEERING SYSTEM IS LOOSE WHICH CAN BE FELT IN STEERING WHEEL. OTHER YEARS WERE RECALLED. 2015 NOT RECALLED
KIDS LOCKED IN MY TRUCK, IN MY DRIVEWAY AFTER REMOTE START. (REPRODUCIBLE) MY KIDS GOT LOCKED IN MY CAR A FEW WEEKS AGO WHERE THE UNLOCK BUTTON WASN'T WORKING, I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE UNTIL IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN. I WAS GETTING READY TO TAKE MY 15 YEAR OLD SON TO SCHOOL. I UNLOCKED THE CAR SO HE COULD PUT HIS STUFF IN, AND SHORTLY AFTER I REMOTE STARTED THE CAR. MY OLDER SON WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME I REMOTE STARTED THE CAR, WHILE I CONTINUED TO GET MY YOUNGER 4 YEAR OLD READY IN THE HOUSE. WHEN I CAME BACK TO THE CAR WITH MY SON, MY HANDS WERE FULL AND I ASKED MY SON TO UNLOCK THE CAR. HE PRESSED THE UNLOCK BUTTON AND NOTHING HAPPENED, AND THE DOOR REMAINED LOCKED WITH HIM INSIDE. HE COULD NOT UNLOCK THE CAR DOORS TO GET OUT! TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V651000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS) AND 16T016000 (TIRES). PRIOR TO RECEIPT OF THE RECALL, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER AND DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
A REPRODUCIBLE CONDITION EXISTS WHEN THE DRIVER REMOVES THEIR FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL, THEN QUICKLY ENGAGES CRUISE CONTROL, THEN PUSHES THE MINUS (-) BUTTON REPEATEDLY TO DECELERATE THE CRUISE CONTROL, THAT THE VEHICLE CRUISE LOCKS UP AND FLIPS BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE DESIRED SPEED AND THE ORIGINAL SET SPEED, AND DOES NOT DECELERATE. THIS CAN OCCUR FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, WHERE THE DRIVER BELIEVES THEY ARE DECELERATING THE CRUISE CONTROL BUT IT IS LOCKED AT ITS ORIGINAL SETTING, WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
MY SILVERADO HAS DEVELOPED A VIBRATION AROUND 4-5000 MILES FROM NEW. THE VIBRATION STARTS AROUND 60MPH AND INCREASES IN INTENSITY UP TO AND BEYOND 80MPH, THE LEGAL SPEED LIMIT IN TEXAS. THE VIBRATION CAN BE FELT THROUGHOUT THE CABIN IN THE SEATS, CENTER CONSOLE, STEERING WHEEL, DOORS AND GAS PEDAL. ON MY LAST 3+ HOUR DRIVE I HAD TO STOP MIDWAY BECAUSE THE VIBRATIONS GAVE ME A HEADACHE. THAT'S NEVER HAPPENED IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE EVER. AFTER 3 VISITS TO THE DEALER AND MULTIPLE ROAD FORCE BALANCE AND TIRE REPLACEMENTS LATER THE DEALER STATES THE TRUCK IS OPERATING NORMAL AND IS IN SPEC. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND I'M WORKING ON TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH GM TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM.
I PARK IN A 5 LEVEL PARKING GARAGE. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, I WAS LEAVING WHEN I CAME UP TO THE RAMP TO THE NEXT LOWER LEVEL. I LET OFF ON THE ACCELERATOR BEFORE I WENT FROM FLAT TO LOWERING RAMP. THE TRUCK SHIFTED UP TO SECOND GEAR, ACCELERATED AND THROUGH ME TOWARD THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. THE TRUCK WENT OUT OF MY CONTROL. IF I WERE NOT A SAFE DRIVER I WOULD HAVE STRUCK THE VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ANOTHER TIME AS WELL. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER PROBLEMS WHICH ARE NUMEROUS. I WILL ADDRESS THEM INDIVIDUAL IN FURTHER COMPLAINTS.
BRAKES SUDDENLY REQUIRED MUCH MORE EFFORT TO WORK. HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS, AND OCCASIONALLY WHEN APPLIED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE SLOWING FROM 50-80MPH. EXAMPLES OF WHEN THIS FREQUENTLY OCCURS ARE: ENTERING PARKING SPACES, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, APPROACHING TOLL BOOTHS ON HIGHWAYS, DESCENDING HILLS, AND ANY SITUATION WHERE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND RELEASED REPEATEDLY OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. CONDITION CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AND CAUSE ACCIDENTS. I HAVE NEEDED TO STAND ON BRAKES WHEN STOPPING IN MANY OCCASIONS TO AVOID ACCIDENTS. LATELY THE CONDITION HAD WORSENED AND I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I FOUND MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS AND SURVIVE BULLETINS FROM GM THAT INCLUDE A LARGE AMOUNT OF AFFECTED VEHICLES. THIS SHOULD BE A FORCED SAFETY RECALL.

TAKATA RECALL I GOT A RECALL NOTICE AND TRIED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. NO APPOINTMENTS WERE ALLOWED. YOU ARRIVE AT EIGHT AM AND IT WILL TAKE A LEAST 4 HOURS TO DO. THE LETTER STATED 40 MINUTES OR LESS. I CANNOT TAKE A WHOLE DAY OFF OF WORK TO DO THIS SO I GUESS MY LIFE IS IN JEOPARDY.
CAMSHAFT LIFTER FAILURE (COLLAPSED / STUCK), #1 CYLINDER AFTER ENGINE WAS IDLE FOR ~5 MINUTES. VEHICLE HAD 9701 MILES AT TIME OF INCIDENT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A RELATIVELY COMMON ISSUES WITH REGARDS TO THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ON LATE MODEL GM VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THIS TECHNOLOGY. THE SERVICE WRITER AT THE DEALERSHIP NOTED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES IN FOR SERVICE WITH THE ISSUE OF A "COLLAPSED" OR "STUCK" LIFTER REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. THERE IS DEFINITELY A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OR THE GRADE OF MATERIALS BEING USED AS A LIFTER SHOULD NOT BE FAILING AT THIS RATE WITH VERY LITTLE USAGE.

I GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CHECKED IN THEY TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE WHILE I WAITED. AFTER WAITING 4 HOURS THEY TELL ME THE ENGINE HAS ISSUES THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT OR WHY AND THAT IT WILL BE A FEW DAYS BEFORE THEY WILL KNOW ANYTHING. SO THAT WAITING GAME BEGINS.
