THE TRUCK HAS A CONSTANT VIBRATION ABOUT 45 MPH AND INCREASES WITH FREQUENCY AS SPEED IS INCREASED AS WELL. PASSENGER SEAT SHAKES AND CAN BE FELT THROUGH ENTIRE VEHICLE. TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACE MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO CORRECTION.
I HAVE A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD LTZ MODEL. THIS VEHICLE HAS PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS FOR THE LOW BEAM THAT AVE VERY INADEQUATE WHEN TRYING TO SEE IN DARK NIGHTS. THE LIGHT OUTPUT IS VERY DIM AND THE CUTOFF PATTERN IS LOW CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY TO ALMOST ZERO VISIBILITY ON WET ROADS OR DURING RAIN. USING THE FOG LIGHTS DOES HELP, BUT ALSO CAUSES ONCOMING DRIVERS TO FLASH YOU DUE TO EXTRA LIGHTS TURNED ON. I AM REALLY SHOCKED AS I HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH HID PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS AND THEY ARE FRIENDLY TO ONCOMING DRIVERS AS THEY ARE BRIGHT BUT THE LIGHTING PATTERN IS LOW. THE CHEVROLET IS NOT AN HID LIGHT AND IT IS NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH FOR THE PROJECTOR PATTERN. THIS IS OF GREAT CONCERN DUE TO THE LACK OF VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. SECOND ISSUE - TURN SIGNALS AS VIEWED FROM THE VEHICLE COMING STRAIGHT ON. I HAVE NOTICED LOOKING AT OTHER CHEVROLET SILVERADO'S THAT WHEN VIEWING THE TRUCK FROM THE FRONT, YOU CAN NOT SEE IF THE TURN SIGNALS ARE ON. DUE TO CHROME ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE HEADLIGHT - DRL - YOU CAN NOT SEE THE BLINKING TURN SIGNAL FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. SO, SOMEONE COULD EASILY TURN IN FRONT OF OR NOT SEE THE TRUCK IS TURNING DUE TO THE INABILITY TO SEE THE TURN SIGNAL FROM THE FRONT.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION AFTER A STOP. 3 OF 4 OF THE TIMES IT HAPPENED WERE AFTER A RIGHT HAND TURN. 3 OF THE 4 STALLS OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE WAS COLD (NO CORRELATION WITH RIGHT HAND TURN).
SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING VIBRATION IN STEERING AND CAB OF TRUCK. BEEN IN THE DEALER 5 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. REPAIRS INCLUDED 14 SET OF TIRES , BALANCE DRIVE SHAFT, REPLACED RING AND PINION IN DIFFERENTIAL, INSTALLED HYDRAULIC BUSHINGS IN STEERING RACK . THE TRUCK STILL VIBRATES. THIS IS A CONCERN IN SAFETY IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS HOW CAN YOU SAY ITS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. VERY DISPLEASED WITH GENERAL MOTORS . THERE IS ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND SHOULD BE LOOKED AT MORE CAREFULLY
THE TRUCK VIBRATES CRAZY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT'S BEEN INTO THE SHOP 4 TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM. THEY KEEP TRYING TO BALANCE THE TIRES. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS NO MATTER WHAT THE DEALER DOES. THIS VIBRATION COULD BE A REAL PROBLEM.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON 1/15/16 IN WHICH I WAS SIDESWIPED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, I HAD NO BRAKES AND NO STEERING CONTROL. THIS CAUSED ME TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE AND HIT A TREE HEAD ON. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE OR CONTROL IT. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE. I AM VERY CONCERNED. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN THE SHOP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES, YET THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING OR IT WAS MINOR CORRECTIONS. I HAVE BEEN VERY CONCERNED WITH THE ELECTRONICS OF THIS VEHICLE SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN AUGUST 2015. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE TRUCK.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT DRIVING SLOW. COULDN'T CONTROL THE STEERING. WOULD ONLY GO STRAIGHT. AIR BAG DID NOT ENGAGE AND SEAT BELT DID NOT WORK. LIGHTS GO DIM AND FLASH. RADIO DISPLAY NOT WORKING CORRECT. BUT MAIN CONCERN IS INSIDE LIGHTS GO DIM OR FLASH.ON CITY STREETS DRIVING SLOW.
CENTER CONSOLE BEVERAGE HOLDERS, HAVE TWO HOLES ON HARD PLASTIC.THESE HOLES DRAIN SPILL LIQUID FROM BEVERAGES TO GO INSIDE CONSOLE AND CAUSING MOLD GROW AND BAD SMELL. ALSO CAUSES THAT USB PORTS ON CONSOLE TO SHORT OUT AND BURN. THESE PROBLEM GETS WORST WHEN OWNER LIFTS CENTER CONSOLE TO SEAT A 3RD PERSON IN FRONT OF VEHICLE CAUSING ACCUMULATED LIQUID TO SPILL TO BACK OF CONSOLE, WHERE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN. WITHOUT TAKING CONSOLE APART.
THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES WHEN SHIFTING IN AUTOMATIC BUT WHEN IN MANUAL MODE IT SHIFTS FINE WITH NO ISSUES. THIS HAS BEEN A ON GOING ISSUE AND PROBLEM THE SERVICE CENTER FOR A LOCAL DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIND THE ISSUE. BUT THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
ABS ACTIVATES AT SLOW SPEEDS CREATING AN INABILITY TO STOP PROPERLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WAS UNSTABLE, SWERVED, BOUNCED, AND VIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSTALLED NEW SHOCKS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEAF SPRINGS WERE FAULTY. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS WASHING THE VEHICLE, THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
FUEL LEAKING FROM ENGINE. WITH 9595 MILES ON THE ENGINE THE TRUCK LEAKS FUEL FROM THE ENGINE LIKE CRAZY. VEHICLE IS 6 MONTHS OLD. CAN'T GET CHEVY TO PICKUP THE RIG BECAUSE THEY SAY I NEED TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT - THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO - BEEN BATTLING WITH CHEVY ALL DAY ON THIS. ITS A SAFETY HAZARD CABIN SMELLS LIKE THE INSIDE OF A GAS TANK - I DON'T FEEL SAVE DRIVING IT ANYWHERE.
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2015 SILVERADEO ON 7/24/15 AND AT ABOUT 700 MILES OR SO I NOTICED A BAD VIBRATION AS THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION, TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER CAUSE I WAS VERY UPSET IT BEING AN $56,000.00 TRUCK AND ALL. THEY WANTED ME TO LEAVE THE TRUCK OVERNIGHT AND DID NOT OFFER ANY VEHICLE TO DRIVE SO I DID NOT LEAVE IT WITH THEM. SO I TOOK THE TRUCK TO RATFIELD TIRE AND HAD THE TIRE'S BALANCED,ALL 4 TIRE'S WERE OUT OF BALANCE, WHICH I PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET MYSELF NOT GM.... THIS DIDNOT FIX THE PROBLEM OF THE SEVERE VIBRATION GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I THEN TOOK THE TRUCK TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR THE VIBRATION, THEY TEST DROVE IT AND CONFIRMED THE VIBRATION, DID A ROAD FORCE BALANCE ON ALL 4 WHEELS, THEN REPLACED ALL TIRE'S, THIS ALSO HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM,THE TRUCK IS STILL VIBRATING, THE ENTIRE SEAT JUST SHAKES, I AM PRESENTLY WAITING ON ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME HIMSELF AFTER REPLACING ALL 4 TIRE'S THAT IT FELT LIKE A BALANCE ISSUE INSIDE THE MOTOR WHICH THERE IS NO FIX, NOW THAT IS CRAZY...I FELL THAT THIS TRUCK SHOULD BE REPLACED OR MY MONEY BACK ENTIRELY.THE TRUCK ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 2000 MILES CAUSE IT MAKES ME SICK TO DRIVE IT....
TRANSMISSION IS LURCHING IF DRIVING 50 MPH THEN SLOW DOWN TO 35 MPH WHEN YOU GO TO SPEED BACK UP IT LURCHES. COMPLAINED TO CHEVROLET SEVERAL TIMES THEY SAY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG.
MY DOG WAS LACERATED VIA THE REAR BOTTOM CORNER OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WHEN HE RAN BY IT. NOT QUITE SURE WHY THE DESIGN WOULD COME TO SUCH A POINT. A TRIP TO THE EMERGENCY VET, STAPLES, ANTIBIOTICS, AND $$$ LATER HE IS NOW AT HOME RECOVERING.
PURCHASED NEW 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 IN JANUARY OF 2016. EXPERIENCED A VIBRATION AT ALL SPEEDS FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF PURCHASE. VIBRATION GETS WORSE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. VEHICLE CAME WITH STEEL WHEELS FROM THE FACTORY. VIBRATION CAN BE FELT IN THE SEAT AND SEEN IN THE CENTER CONSOLE. VIBRATION IS COMING FROM REAR OF VEHICLE. REPLACED WHEELS AND TIRES WITH AFTERMARKETS. THE AFTERMARKETS WERE BIGGER AND HEAVIER AND MADE VIBRATION EXTREMELY WORSE. AFTER ASSURING THAT I WASN'T DEALING WITH A PROBLEM WITH THE NEW WHEELS AND TIRES, I PUT THE FACTORIES BACK ON AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 3 1/2 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE FAILED PICO SCOPE TESTS. THEY PUT SEVERAL NEW TIRES ON THE VEHICLE, CHANGED BOTH REAR AXLES, AND CHANGED RING AND PINION IN REAR END. THESE STEPS HELPED REDUCE THE VIBRATION, BUT DID NOT TOTALLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THEY THEN DECIDED TO PUT ALUMINUM WHEELS ON THE TRUCK, WHICH HELPED REDUCE THE VIBRATION DOWN TO BARELY NOTICEABLE. MY CONCERN IS BY PUTTING THE LIGHTER WHEEL ON THE VEHICLE TO REDUCE THE VIBRATION, THEY ARE ONLY MASKING THE PROBLEM, SINCE THE HEAVIER THE WHEEL/TIRE ASSEMBLY, THE WORSE THE VIBRATION. THEY ARE TELLING ME THEY DO NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE TO THE VEHICLE. GENERAL MOTORS HAS TOLD ME THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PURSUE THE ISSUE ANY FURTHER. THEY TELL ME THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE BUT NOT SURE WHAT IT IS AND SINCE IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE THEY HAVE HONORED THE WARRANTY. HOW DO THEY KNOW THAT IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE IF THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I BELIEVE THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND THEY ARE PASSING IT ON TO THE CONSUMER. THERE WAS NO DISCLOSURE OF THE ISSUES WITH THESE TRUCKS UPON PURCHASE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS TRUCK AND FEAR FUTURE PROBLEMS WITH THE ISSUE. ALSO, THE TRUCK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS HAS DOWN SHIFTED ABNORMALLY CAUSING RPMS TO RISE.
DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS ESPECIALLY PARKING THE BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD TO DEPRESS AND BRAKING POWER IS ALMOST NON-EXISTENT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF SINCE 30,000 MILES AND NOW DAILY AT 60,000. THE ABS INDICATOR HAS GONE ON AND OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY NOW.
I BOUGHT A 2015 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 WT BLACK OUT EDITION ON 12/1/2015. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF DRIVING TRUCK AND ABOUT 1000 MILES ON TRUCK DRIVERS SEAT HAS A MAJOR SQUEAK AND FEELS NOT STURDY. AFTER MANY TRIPS TO DEALER AND REPLACING SEVERAL PARTS, DRIVERS SEAT REMAINS SAME AS OF TO DATE. AT THIS POINT DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO ISSUES REPORTED ON ANY OTHER 2015 TRUCKS IN THE US. TRUCK SEAT IS UNBEARABLE TO DRIVE AND COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD. TRUCK CURRENTLY HAS 4500 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WAS ACTIVATED AND THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE LOCKED UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,214.
THE ENGINE HAS A TICKING NOISE LIKE A LIFTER OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. I'M TOLD THIS IS NORMAL ITS A TICKING FUEL PUMP FOR THE FUEL INJECTORS. I THINK GM IS BETTER THAN THAT AND CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO QUITE IT DOWN. IF THERE ENGINEERS CAN'T FIGURE IT GM SHOULD CONSIDER FINDING SOME THAT CAN! THE NEXT TIME I BUY A GM PRODUCT IT WILL NEED TO BE QUITE IF NOT I'LL BRAKE A FAMILY TRADITION FOR 80 YEARS AND BUY ANOTHER BRAND.
WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS STARTING AT AND ABOVE 70 MPH THERE IS AN AUDIBLE NOISE NOT PRESENT AT ANY OTHER TIME OR CIRCUMSTANCE. THIS IS ALSO FELT THRU THE GAS PETAL SO MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE COULD POSSIBLY BE A DEFECT OR OUT-OF-BALANCE COMPONENT. I DEMONSTRATED THIS CONDITION WITH THE DEALER'S TECHNICIAN ON THIS AND ANOTHER IDENTICAL 1500 AND IT HAD THE SAME ISSUE. DISCUSSING THIS WITH ANOTHER 2015 SILVERADO 1500 OWNER FOUND THAT THEIR VEHICLE ALSO HAS THE SAME CONDITION. IN FACT THEIR VEHICLE WHEN OPERATED AT SPEEDS ABOVE 70 MPH VIBRATES SO NOTICEABLY THAT THE CUP HOLDERS SPILL THE CONTENTS.
MY CHEVROLET SILVERADO HAS TERRIBLE HEADLIGHTS. THEY ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH AND DO NOT LIGHT THE ROAD PROPERLY. IF THE LOW BEAMS ARE ADJUSTED HIGHER THE HIGH BEAMS NO LONGER ILLUMINATE THE ROAD. THE HIGH AND LOW BEAMS ARE IN A ONE PIECE ASSEMBLY AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED INDEPENDENTLY. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WITH A HIGH DEER POPULATION AND REQUIRE GOOD HEADLIGHTS. IN MY OPINION THE HIGHS AND LOWS SHOULD BE INDEPENDENT AND HAVE MUCH BRIGHTER BULBS.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH WHEN I WAS ACCELERATING OVER AN OVERPASS THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE WITH AN ASSOCIATED HUMMING NOISE AND AFTER ABOUT TWO SECONDS AFTER THEACH VIBRATION STARTED A VERY LOUD AND VIOLENT BANGING SOUND CAME FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE THAT WAS FELT FROM THE INSIDE. I IMMEDIATELY STEERED TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER, BECAUSE I COULD SEE METAL CHUNKS TUMBLING FROM BEHIND THE VEHICLE FROM MY REAR VIEW MIRROR. ONCE I WAS ON THE SHOULDER I LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK TO SEE THE DRIVE SHAFT HAD COME APART FROM THE TRANSMISSION WITH THE U-JOINT STILL CONNECTED ON THE TRANSMISSION SIDE. THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS MANGLED ON THE TRANSMISSION SIDE, AND THE EXHAUST WAS CRUSHED WITH HOLES IN IT. THE TOOL ROAD AUTHORITY STOPPED TO RENDER AID AND KINDLY TOWED MY VEHICLE OFF THE TOOL ROAD TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION. IMAGES WERE TAKEN OF THE DAMAGE, BUT WE'RE TO BIG IN SIZE TO UPLOAD.
2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT TOTALED THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER HAD A PUNCTURED AND COLLAPSED LUNG, SEVEN BROKEN VERTEBRAE, THREE BROKEN RIBS, A BROKEN STERNUM, A CONCUSSION, AS WELL AS SPINAL INJURIES THAT RESULTED IN A PERMANENT SPINAL DEFORMITY CALLED KYPHOSIS. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER SRA TIRES, SIZE: P265/65/18 (NA). WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 65-75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE INSPECTED AND REPAIRED. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,400.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS ACKNOWLEDGED AS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUNCTION WAS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TRANSMISSION CANNOT FIND GEARS WHEN COASTING OR SLOWING DOWN AND THEN HITTING ACCELERATOR. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IT HESITATES FOR SECONDS BEFORE FINDING THE RIGHT GEAR AND GOING, OR IT STAYS IN TOO HIGH OF A GEAR INSTEAD OF DOWNSHIFTING TO ACCELERATE AND RATTLES. HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE TRUCK, AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. GM DOESN'T CARE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE RADIO AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO WORK. THE NEXT DAY, THE RADIO WAS NOT WORKING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER A WHILE, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR EVALUATION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
TRUCK SHAKES SEVERELY WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS ABOVE 70 MPH ON MANY DIFFERENT ROAD TYPES. THIS PROBLEM STARTED NOT TOO LONG AFTER I GOT MY TRUCK NEW. AFTER COMPLAINING ABOUT IT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THIS IS "STANDARD 22 INCH WHEEL VIBRATION." AFTER I HAD ABOUT 35000 MILES ON IT THE VIBRATION GOT SO BAD I COULDN'T STAND TO DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE TIRES WERE WORE OUT EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS STILL PLENTY OF TREAD. HAD ANOTHER SHOP LOOK AT IT AND THEY FOUND ONE OF THE WHEELS WAS EVER SO SLIGHTLY BENT. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER TO CONFIRM. THEY SOLD ME A NEW WHEEL, THE PROBLEM DIDN'T GO AWAY OR CHANGE IN ANY WAY. I BOUGHT NEW TIRES AS THEY RECOMMENDED, PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE BUT NOT SO SEVERE UNTIL AFTER DRIVING A FEW THOUSAND MILES. THE MORE MILES I PUT ON THE TIRES THE WORSE THE VIBRATION GETS. TOOK IT BACK INTO THE DEALER AGAIN RECENTLY, THEY KEEP TELLING ME IT'S STANDARD VIBRATION FOR 22 INCH WHEELS. I KNOW THIS IS BOGUS BECAUSE I KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME WHEELS AND TIRES THAT DON'T HAVE THE SHAKING PROBLEM, THEY CAN DRIVE AS FAST AS THEY WANT AND IT'S SMOOTH. EVERYBODY THAT RIDES WITH ME ASKS WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TRUCK. HOW CAN I CONVINCE THE DEALER THAT THERE IS AN ACTUAL PROBLEM?
I bought my 2015 Silverado Z71 LT new in 2015, after a few months I started experiencing the "chevy shake", I took it back and they replaced the tires saying its fixed. It didnt fix it, after getting ready to call and go back it stopped doing it. Throughout the years it has done it off and on, I have had the driveshaft balanced, 3 sets of wheels and 5 sets of tires, U-joints, both fron CV Axles, bearings and bushings in the differential, transmission checked and fluids and filter changed, still does it. The truck only has 38,850 miles, I saw that there is a class action lawsuit against GM for knowingly selling these vehicles with bad driveshafts or transmissions. I will have it back in the shop Tuesday 9/24/24 to have them look again.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LTZ WITH A 5.3 LITER MOTOR THE RPM OF THE ENGINE ACT ERRATIC, IT WILL INCREASE AND DECREASE RPM AT WILL, I WOULD SAY THAT IT SURGES ABOUT 75 TO 150 RPM, IT ESPECIALLY DOES THIS GOING UPHILL. IT IS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT ACTS IN THIS MANNER BECAUSE YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE WAY YOU WANT TO DRIVE, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE TRYING TO CONVINCE ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL, WHICH I KNOW IT IS NOT NORMAL, GM NEEDS TO FIGURE THIS OUT AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY CAME OUT OF STEERING COLUMN WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I PULLED OFF ROAD AND PARKED, THE IGNITION SWITCH INTERNALS AND KEY CAME OFF IN MY HAND. NOT ABLE TO SHUT ENGINE OFF. CALLED ONSTAR, THEY COULD NOT SHUT OFF ENGINE. TRUCK WAS FLATBEDDED TO DEALER WHILE STILL RUNNING. RISK OF STEERING WHEEL LOCKING CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL. STEERING WHEEL MAKES CLATTERING NOISE NOT CONNECTED TO WHEELS AT TIMES. INSTRUMENTS DIMMING AND FLASHING WHEN TURNING WHEEL AT TIMES
OCTOBER 31, 2014 ON MY HOME FROM WORK I HEARD A BANG. THE TRUCK PULLED VERY HARD TO THE LEFT TAKING ME INTO THE CONCRETE BARRIER THAT DIVIDES THE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION US HIGHWAY 41/45 65 MPH. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS INVESTIGATED AT THE DEALER TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE ON THE DAMAGE IT WAS DISCOVERED THE LEFT REAR AXEL WAS BROKEN. QUESTIONING THE DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND NOT GETTING ANYWHERE I TALKED TO DIFFERENT MECHANICS THAT I KNOW AFTER A WEEK OR SO IT WAS DISCOVERED THERE WAS A RECAL FOR INSUFFCIENT HEAT TREATED REAR AXLES TALKING TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THIS DID NOT PERTAIN TO MY VEHICLE AS THE RECALL WAS TAKEN CARE OF AT THE FACTORY. I CANTACTED CHEVROLET AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE I HAD GIVEN THE OK FOR THE DEALER TO MAKE THE REPAIRS. MY INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD NEED TO FOLE PAPER WORK AGAINST CHEVROLET WHICH MYSELF I BELIEVE IS WRONG . I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALER BROKEN AXLE WAS TYPICAL OF THIS KIND OF IMPACT. THERE IS NO DAMAGE ON THE SIDE PANEL OR REAR OF THE TRUCK I DO HAVE PICTURES ON MY PHONE WHICH I HAVE NOT DOWNLOADED TO MY COMPUTER.
ON OCTOBER 24, 2015 WHILE FOLLOWING MY WIFE HOME ON HWY 182 BETWEEN WEST PASCO AND RICHLAND MY TRUCK EXPERIENCE WHAT FELT LIKE A TIRE BLOWOUT ON THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL. I WAS TRAVELING THE SPEED LIMIT AT 70 MPH. THE ROAD WAS LEVEL AND FLAT WITH NO DEBRIS ON THE ROAD. I PROCEEDED TO CHANGE OUT MY TIRE WITH THE SPARE, THINKING THAT THE TIRE HAD A LARGE BOLT OR NAIL IN IT. TO MY SURPRISE, THE TIRE WAS INTACT WITH NO SIGN OF DAMAGE. THE FACTORY RIM HAD FAILED. QUOTED GAS MILEAGE FOR V6 MODEL WAS 25/19, I AM ONLY GETTING 19 MILES PER GALLON. I CHOSE THE V6 DUE TO BETTER GAS MILAGE BUT I'M GETTING LESS MILAGE THAN THE V8 MODEL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
SO DUE TO KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE YOLK ON THE DIFFERENTIAL, THE LAG IN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT AND ENGINE COMMUNICATION LEADS TO EXTREME VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND CLUNKING AND JERKING WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN. SO WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS THERE IS A DELAY IN THE MOTOR RECOGNIZING IT SO IT REVS UP SOME SO WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY FINDS THE GEAR IT CAUSES IT TO KICK. AND SINCE THE YOLK HAS PLAY IN IT, IT CAUSES THE DIFFERENTIAL TO CLUNK AS THE ROTATION OF THE DRIVESHAFT CATCHES UP AT A QUICKER RATE. WHICH LEADS TO MORE LOOSENESS IN THE YOKE AND CREATES A WOBBLE IN THE DRIVESHAFT. AND AN UNSETTLING SOUND WHILE DRIVING AROUND.
ON MONDAY OCTOBER 5, 2015, I WAS DRIVING TRUCK AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY ALL ELECTRONICS WENT BLACK AND COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER ON HIGHWAY. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OF TO SIDE OF ROAD. I TURNED THE KEY TO OFF POSITION (ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING) AND WAITED SEVERAL MINUTES THEN TURNED TRUCK ON AND IT STARTED. THE TRACTION LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND OFF BUT THE TRUCK DID NOT LOOSE POWER AGAIN-THANKFULLY. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700.

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT TWO VALVE LIFTERS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,400.
HAD BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE THAT TRANSMISSION WAS SHAKING/SHIMMYING/SPUTTERING. WAS PULLING ONTO A COUNTY HIGHWAY OFF OF A RESIDENTIAL TYPE ROAD (AFTER PICKING UP GRANDDAUGHTER FROM SCHOOL - SHE WAS IN TRUCK) AND TRUCK BOGGED DOWN & WOULDN'T GO. INTERSECTION IS AT TOP OF HILL AND AROUND A CORNER. WAS CLEAR WHEN I STARTED PULLING OUT, BUT WAS ALMOST HIT BY ONCOMING TRUCK BEFORE I GOT MY TRUCK TO GET ON ACROSS THE INTERSECTION. HAS BEEN IN SHOP TWICE TO FIX IT. FIRST TIME TO DOUBLE TRANSMISSION FLUSH. THAT DIDN'T WORK. NEXT TIME A FEW WEEKS LATER, A TECHNICIAN HOOKED UP A COMPUTER TO MY TRUCK SO HE COULD MANUALLY SHIFT GEARS WHILE RIDING WITH ME. HE FELT THE ISSUES AND SAID HE SAW SEVERAL PROBLEMS. DEALERSHIP ENDED UP REPLACING TORQUE CONVERTER. ALSO REPLACED VLOM MANIFOLD - WHATEVER THAT IS? THAT'S WHAT IT SAYS ON WORK ORDER. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I BELIEVE THERE ARE BULLETINS OUT ON THIS TRUCK'S TRANSMISSION ALREADY. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.

TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS HAVE VERIFIED THE PROBLEM, GM FIELD ENGINEERS VERIFIED THERE IS AN ISSUE, AND THE ENGINEER RECOMMENDED THE DEALER CHANGE REAR END PARTS, STILL NO FIX. TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS FELT ROADFORCE BALANCING THE TIRES WOULD HELP; IT HAS NOT. THE TRUCK ALSO MAKES A CHIRPING NOISE WHEN TRANSITIONING FROM 4 CYLINDERS BACK TO 8 CYLINDERS.

THE RACK AND PINION IS MAKING NOISE WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT DUE TO THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST IF IT FAILS THE STEERING WILL NO LONGER WORK. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE FOR THESE YEAR MODEL TRUCKS AND MY TRUCK ONLY HAD APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES. THIS PART SEEMS TO HAVE A HIGH FAILURE RATE AND IS RELATIVELY EXPENSIVE ESPECIALLY IF IT FAILS MULTIPLE TIMES WHICH I HAVE READ HAPPENS.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO KERRY CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 7500 ALEXANDRIA PIKE, ALEXANDRIA, KY 41001, 859-635-6400) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED AGAIN THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT BOUGHT A DIFFERENT BATTERY BRAND FROM AUTO ZONE AND REPLACED THE BATTERY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A TOTAL OF THREE BATTERIES REPLACED IN APPROXIMATELY FOUR YEARS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.

COULD NOT GET TO REGISTER THAT EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS OFF AND WHILE DRIVING NONE OF THE TURN SIGNALS WERE WORKING AS TO TRUCK WARNING TO PULL OVER DUE TO VEHICLE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ON. I HAVE ONLY MADE ONE PAYMENT ON THIS NEW VEHICLE AND TRUCK HAS ALREADY BEEN IN SHOP 2X .I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE AS DEALER NOT HELPING ME AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS TRUCK.
