The main frame of the truck is rusted so badly I can poke my finger through it. Body shop says they don't consider it safe to drive.
Rear sliding glass on 19’ + model silverados. Water has entered into the cabin specifically to the left back passenger side. My vehicle to include multiple other people across the nation have been effected by this also. Specifically to mine, water has entered and stained the interior cabin panel. This is a safety/health concern to people experiencing this as it can cause asthmatic individuals and immuno compromised personnel to get deathly ill. I have my babies ride back there and it concerns me that they will get sick due to the negligence of GM not wanting to correct the issue to standard. The answer to the problem is a reseal, however, when that seal does not hold due to faulty back panel glass it is now your obligation to pay for a whole new back panel. Chevrolet has resealed the issue but I have also reached back out to them with no response due to the window not being aligned and portions of the seal being exposed to the weather.
Rear window leak The cracks can be in the left and/or right side of the rear sliding window plastic upper rail glass guide which is covered by the roof rear spoiler. Examples of a left (1), then right side (2) visual crack (with the spoiler removed) are shown in the graphics above.

The contact then stated that he noticed a water stain on the interior roof liner. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled. The contact stated that the failure was associated with TSB Bulletin No: 18-NA-383. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 71,300.
On November 14, 2022, I noticed Water leaking in Rear Interior of Cab, Water Leak at Rear Sliding Window. It is clear that it had leaked before as there was several noticeable stains. I took the vehicle up to the Chevrolet dealership in Frisco, Tx to show them. They stated it was a known problem. Another Chevrolet Silverado was next to mine that they said was there for the same reason. [XXX], the service technician told me it was going to be in excess of $4000 to repair. I do not have an extended warranty and the vehicle is outside the standard 3-year warranty. This seems absurd since it is a known issue and clearly a defect in the manufacturing process of the vehicle. There was an NHTSA bulletin issued in August 2020 for this same issue. The bulletin number is 18-NA-383. The vehicle should be recalled and the issue fixed by Chevrolet since is is clearly a defect in the manufacturing process. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The frame of the vehicle has significant rust through. I attempted to go through warranty claim and they denied it and said it was normal. I took it to a body shop who advised that this should not be happening and they recommended a full frame replacement and they advised the rust would spread.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that after a visual inspection, he became aware that there was extensive rust throughout the sub frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that there was not enough damage to warrant a repair of the sub frame. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 34,000.

THE PAINT ON MY TRUCK SEEMS IN ADEQUATE. I HAVE MANY CHIPS AND SCRATCHES IN MY PAINT THEY I HAVE NEVER HAD BEFORE IN OTHER MODELS AND BRANDS. I DRIVE MY TRUCK CAREFULLY AND STAY OUT OF CONDITIONS WHERE SCRATCHES MAY OCCUR. BUT THE SMALLEST BLEMISH TURNS INTO A CHIP DOWN TO THE PRIMER. AS A CONSUMER I WOULD SAY THAT THE. INNER OF COATS OF PAINT AND CLEAR COAT USED IS MINIMAL. WOULD LIKE TO SEE A STRONGER LAYER OF PROTECTION AND THICKER COAT OF PAINT.
