I FEEL THAT I'M BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY, BECAUSE OF A SYSTEM CREATED BY GM,TO DETERMINE WHICH MODEL TRAILBLAZER VEHICLES ARE ARE SELECTED FOR RECALL REPAIR WITH SAFETY RELATED PROBLEMS. EVEN IF THE PROBLEM IS THE SAME, IN MY CASE. IE: A FAULTY FUEL TANK, THAT LEAKS FUEL. TODAY I HAD MY TANK TESTED BY A CHEVY DEALER, WHO TOLD ME I HAD A CRACKED TANK, WHERE THE FUEL TANK FILLER-NECK CONNECTS TO THE TANK. HE SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL, BECAUSE MY MODEL WAS NOT A TRAILBLAZER EXT. MY MODEL IS TRAILBLAZER LS. BUT IT HAS THE SAME UNSAFE LEAK, FROM THE SAME LOCATION, AS THE EXT MODEL. MY MILEAGE, AND YEAR FIT THE RECALL,AND SO DOES THE PROBLEM. SO! WHY NOT THE FIX? THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME $1700 TO REPAIR. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SAME UNSAFE PROBLEM, THAT OTHERS ARE NOT? I CAN SHOW YOU PHOTOS OF 3 DIFFERENT TRAILBLAZER MODELS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. AND YOU COULD NOT PICK OUT WHICH ONE WAS MINE. SO WHY ARE THEY ONLY FIXING ONE MODEL..ALSO I'M STARTING TO GET A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPPING ON AND OFF. THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE CONNECTED TO THE FUEL TANK LEAK. SO NOW, WHEN I GO TO EMISSIONS TESTING I'M GOING TO FAIL. MAKING ME RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS, THAT ARE CLEARLY A DEFECTIVE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. *TR
I WAS GETTING ON THE EXPRESSWAY & BOTH HEADLIGHTS JUST STOPPED WORKING. I DROVE HOME WITH NO LIGHTS ON THE FRONT OF MY CAR IN THE DARK, VERY VERY VERY UNSAFE. HOW DO ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE FRONT OF YOUR CAR GO OUT ALL AT THE SAME TIME. *TR
DUE TO A SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHT AND SMELLING GAS INSIDE MY VEHICLE, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC. HE STATED THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE NECK OF MY FUEL TANK. THE TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HE ALSO STATED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH TRAILBLAZERS. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE GM DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THEIR INITIAL DIAGNOSIS WAS THE FUEL CAP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT THAT POINT I ASKED THEM TO CHECK FOR A CRACK. THEY DID AND VERIFIED THERE IS A CRACK. I MENTIONED GM CAMPAIGN 07099A - A RECALL FOR TRAILBLAZER EXT'S TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE FUEL TANK AT NO CHARGE. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS RECALL ONLY AFFECTED CERTAIN VIN #'S AND MINE IS NOT WITHIN THE AFFECTED NUMBER RANGE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE REMEDIED BY THE DEALER AT NO COST TO ME. THE DEALER OFFERED A 50/50 RESOLUTION WHICH TO ME ONLY SERVES TO PROVE THEIR CULPABILITY IN THE MATTER. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY TWO YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WHOM I REGULARLY TRANSPORT IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
SEVERAL MONTHS THE SMELL OF GASOLINE WAS VERY STRONG IN THE INTERIOR OF MY SUV. I DROVE IT ABOUT FIVE MILES FROM MY HOME WITH A FULL TANK, AS I DROVE IT THE SMELL BECAME MUCH STRONG, WHEN I REACHED MY DESTINATION A PERSON POINTED OUT TO ME THAT GASOLINE WAS POURING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY TRUCK LIKE A WATER HOSE. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED HOME TO PARK THE VEHICLE. AS I TRIED TO RECALL WHAT MAY HAVE OCCURRED, I REMEMBERED THAT TWO DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT I GOT AN OIL CHANGE; I ASSUMED THAT MAYBE THEY HAD DONE SOMETHING TO AGGRAVATE AN ALREADY EXISTING PROBLEM. AFTER THEY REVIEWED THEIR WORK, I WAS TOLD IT WAS A MANUFACTURES PROBLEM. I LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WOLF CHEVROLET (NOW DEFUNCT DEALER). A DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE GAS TANK MUST BE REPLACED WITH A COST OF $1192. AND THE SUV IS CONSIDERED "TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE". I THEN WENT TO ANOTHER AUTOMOTIVE ESTABLISHMENT AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME DIAGNOSIS. AFTER TAKING IN CONSIDERATION BOTH ESTIMATES AND MY NEED FOR TRANSPORTATION, I CONTACTED GM AND SPOKE WITH A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WHO INFORMED ME THAT I NEEDED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED GM DEALER. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LOU BACHRODT IN CHERRY VALLEY, ILLINOIS AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME DIAGNOSIS. AFTERI RELAYED THE IINFORMATION TO THE GM REP, HE SAID THAT DUE TO THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE MILEAGE, GM WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO OFFER ME ANY COMPENSATION. HE SUGGESTED I PHONE LOU BACHRODT AND SEE IF THEY COULD ASSIST ME IN THE COST, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN GAVE ME THE SAME STATEMENT; AGE AND MILEAGE. I AM WRITING BECAUSE FROM ALL INDICATIONS THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ONLY PREVALENT IN MY SUV BUT AFTER DOING RESEARCH, SEVERAL 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT CHEVROLET GM SHOULD TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR ALL OR SOME OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
SPEEDOMETER STUCK AT 0 MPH EVEN WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS PROVIDING AN INACCURATE SPEED READING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. UPDATED 03/01/13*LJ UPDATED 4/24/13 *CN
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL RANDOMLY GOES OFF THEN ON, SOMETIMES FREEZES. HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. NO SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS THAT CAUSES IT. *TR
2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT WITH 76,500 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK I NOTICED THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WAS READING MAXIMUM. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER IN THE DARK ON A BUSY HWY TO CHECK OIL AND IT WAS FULL. THEN APPROX 2 WEEKS LATER THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS POINTING DOWN AND STAYS THERE. NOW THE SPEEDOMETER IS READING 80 MPH EVEN WHEN STOPPED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE SERIOUS DOUBTS AS TO WHETHER THE GAS AND WATER TEMP GAUGE IS READING CORRECTLY. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ALREADY FILED ABOUT THIS MODEL AND MANY OTHER CHEVROLET MODELS. RECALLS HAVE BEEN MADE ON SOME MODELS FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT NOT THIS ONE. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO RECALL THIS MODEL ASAP AND CORRECT THE INFAMOUS PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF. THIS IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR AND ONE THAT THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY FAILED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 164,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FILLER NECK TO GAS TANK LEAKING....DANGEROUS !! CAUSES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO STAY ON....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE HE HAD TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE O2 SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 97,500.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AROUND 10:30AM GOING ABOUT 45 MPH THE BACK WINDOW OF MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT JUST EXPLODED - GLASS EVERYWHERE IN THE BACK CARGO COMPARTMENT. WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND SUNNY AND WE DID NOT HAVE THE REAR DEFROSTER WORKING. FORTUNATELY WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN ME AND MY HUSBAND, AND WE WERE CLOSE TO HOME, SO WE WENT HOME AND CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO HAVE SOMEONE COME AND FIX IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. THE CONTACT STATED HE BEGAN TO SMELL FUEL INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THERE ARE A FEW THINGS. AND I JUST WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A RECALL OR POSSIBLE RECALL ISSUE AT HAND. THE FIRST THING THAT HAPPENED WAS THE RPM GAUDGE. IT WILL STICK AT 3000RPM OR HIGHER. BUT THE ENGINE IS NOT OVER REVING AND THE NEEDLE STILL MOVES UP AND DOWN AS IF IT WOULD WHEN READING CORRECTLY. BUT DOESN'T DROP BELOW THE 3000RPM. THEN IT RANDOMLY RESETS AND WORKS CORRECTLY THEN WILL AGAIN RANDOMLY STICK AT 3000 EMPTY OR HIGHER. THE NEXT THING THAT HAPPENS IS THE BATTERY LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY FLICKER. NOT ALL THE TIME JUST AT RANDOM. I HAD THE BATTERY TESTED AND ITS HOLDING A CHARGE JUST FINE. THE WEIRD THING NEXT WAS I KILLED THE POWER. NO KEY IN AT ALL AND IT STILL FLICKERED ON MY DASHBOARD. THEN STOPPED THE NEXT DAY. ANOTHER THING I WAS DRIVING HOME 1 NIGHT FROM WORK. TURNED MY BLINKERS ON TO TURN ONTO MY ROAD AND MY INTERIOR LIGHTS SLOWLY COME ON AND SLOWLY TURN BACK OFF. MY HEAD LIGHT WIRE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BURNT OUT ABOUT A YR AGO WHICH I REPLACED. NOW I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE BULB FOR MY LOW BEAM IS NOT BLOWN. IF U HIT IT COMES BACK ON. MY DRIVERS SIDE SPEAKER HAS NOT WORKED SINCE I PURCHASED MY TRAILBLAZER. AND IT WILL RANDOMLY WORK. THIS IS RECENT. I REALLY THINK THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. AND MY CONSENT IS A FIRE. IVE HAD IT JUST UNDER 2 YRS. AND I'M ONLY THE 2ND OWNER AND IT HAD 34000 MILES ON IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT IN JUNE OF 2011. *TR
I HAVE A FUEL TANK LEAK ON MY 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LT, AT 112500 MILES. AFTER READING READING SIMILAR STORIES ONLINE, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND A "SERVICE BULLETIN" WAS PUT OUT, BUT NO FORMAL RECALL. THERE WERE ONLY CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS THAT WERE ELIGIBLE, BUT THE SAME PARTS WERE USED REGARDLESS OF THE VIN. MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER ADVISED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, THE COST FOR REPAIR WOULD BE $1000-1200. I CALLED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHO ADVISED ABOUT THE BULLETIN AND THE FACT THAT I WAS NOT ELIGIBLE. THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE, AND IT IS OBVIOUS THAT DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS WERE USED IN THE ASSEMBLY OF THESE VEHICLES. CHEVROLET IS WILLING TO STEP UP AND HELP SOME OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES, BUT NOT ALL. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AS IT RELATES TO THIS. *TR
I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTMENT AND AFRAID OF MY TRAILBLAZER AT THIS POINT. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED AND WITHIN A WEEK OF HAVING THE TRUCK IT STARTED DYING AT REDLIGHTS. OUT OF NOWHERE THE TRUCK JUST SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT HAS GOT TO THE POINT NOW THAT IT DOES IT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY IN MOTION. I HAVE 3 KIDS AND THIS IS NOT SAFE! I LOSE TOTAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE HEADLIGHT PLUG HAS BURNED UP TWICE ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND IT HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE ELECTRICAL IS SERIOUSLY IN NEED OF A RECALL DO TO THE BACK DOOR SPEAKERS NEVER WORKING SINCE WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK (WHICH THE DEALER PROMISED TO FIX) ALONG WITH THE REAR A/C (WHICH THE DEALER ALSO PROMISED TO FIX! I CANT AFFORD 900$ IN LABOR FOR WHATEVER IS MAKING MY TRUCK SHUT OFF BUT IF IT DOESN'T GET FIXED IT WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME! READING CODES ON OBD2 SCANNER OF POO14 AND P0016 INCORRECT CAMSHAFT TIMING WIRING PROBLEMS (HARNESS/WIRING) IN INTAKE TIMING CONTROL VALVE CONTROL SOLENOID SYSTEM CONTINUOUS OIL FLOW TO VCT PISTON CHAMBER FAILED TIMING VALVE CONTROL SOLENOID (STUCK OPEN)- NOW WHAT DO I DO.. *TR
NHTSA RECENTLY POSTED A RECALL OF THE 2006-2009 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FOR HEADLIGHT ISSUES DUE TO A HEADLAMP DRIVER MODULE (HDM) THAT IS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY AND CAN CAUSE THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS AND DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS TO SHUT OFF. I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT 370 AND HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND IT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. IT HAPPENED MAYBE ONCE IN 2012 AND THEN SEVERAL MONTHS LATER DID IT AGAIN AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY (AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK OR SO). PLEASE EXTEND THE RECALL TO ALSO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE AS WELL. *DT
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR PROVIDED AN INACCURATE READING OF EMPTY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE FUEL SERVICE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SOCKETS FOR THE LIGHTS HAD BECOME BURNED. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT INTERMITTENTLY FAILED AND THE SOCKET FOR THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WAS ALSO FOUND TO BE BURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC OR THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 96,112.
I FIRST STARTING SMELL GAS OUT SIDE THE TRAILBLAZER AFTER FILLING IT UP. I LOOKED AT THE FUEL TANK AND LOOKS TO BE LEAKING AT THE FILLER NECK. NOW I AM SMELL GAS COMING THROUGH THE VENTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER GETS STUCK AT RANDOM PLACES. IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. ALL OTHER CONTROLS HAVE ALSO GONE OUT TOO. THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WAS THE FIRST TO STOP WORKING AND THE REST HAVE GONE OUT ABOUT A MONTH OR 2 APART.
MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER SUDDENLY OMITS A TERRIBLE GASOLINE SMELL WHEN I START THE ENGINE AND WHEN I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A LEAK AT THE GAS TANK (BY A SEAL) WHICH CAN ONLY BE FIXED BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE GAS TANK FOR APPROX $ 800-$900 FOR THE TANK ONLY, NOT INC LABOR. I HAVE PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NEW IN 2004 AND IT WAS NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT, I AM THE ONLY DRIVER. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY FACTOR, IS THIS A FIRE HAZARD? BEING ON A FIXED INCOME I AM UNABLE TO SHELL OUT MONEY FOR A NEW GAS TANK AT THIS TIME. WAS THERE A RECALL CONCERNING THIS MATTER? *TR
SPEEDOMETER FAILS TO REGISTER CORRECT SPEED. INOPERABLE SPEEDOMETER STUCK AT ZERO WHEN MOVING OR SOMETIMES AT OTHER DISPLAYED SPEEDS WHILE STOPPED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EQUIPPED WITH FIRESTONE DESTINATION LE TIRES, SIZE 245/70/R16. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 TO 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DRIVE FUNNY WHICH CAUSED HIM TO CRASH INTO A GUARD RAIL. THE DRIVER DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND THE POLICE WERE NOT CONTACTED. ONCE THE VEHICLE STOPPED THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. ONCE THE TIRE WAS INSPECTED THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WAS A PIN HOLE IN THE TIRE WHICH CAUSED THE BLOW OUT. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,000 ON THE TIRES. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES ON THE VEHICLE WAS 94,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE PARKED WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, THE CONTACT SMELLED AN EXTREMELY STRONG ODOR OF FUEL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC NOTICED FUEL CONTINUOUSLY LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE CORRODED AND BEGAN LEAKING NEXT TO EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FIRE. LINES HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO EXCESSIVE CORROSION.
AFTER DRIVING MY LS TRAILBLAZER TO THE STORE, I GOT BACK IN TO NOTICE THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NO LONGER RESTING AT "0". THIS WAS BEFORE I EVEN STARTED THE VEHICLE. IT WAS SITTING AT THE "55" POINT! UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE GAUGE DID NOT MOVE BACK TO ZERO. SO AS I DROVE AWAY, GOING NO MORE THAN 10MPH, THE GAUGE SUGGESTED I WAS GOING 65! I WAS SCARED DRIVING HOME BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW MY EXACT SPEED. UPON GETTING HOME AND SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THE GAUGE RESTED AT THE "50" POINT. SO I TURNED ON THE VEHICLE, THEN QUICKLY TURNED IT OFF. THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOW RESTING AT "45". I CONTINUED TO QUICKLY START AND THEN SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, EVENTUALLY WORKING THE GAUGE BACK DOWN TO ZERO. BUT THIS DOES NOT SEEM LIKE THE RIGHT THING TO DO. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG. IN THE PAST, I HAVE HAD SMALLER SCALE INCIDENTS WITH THE TACHOMETER GAUGE. IT WOULD ZERO ITSELF AT 1 OR 2 RPMS, THUS INDICATING MY ENGINE WAS REVVING HIGHER THAN IT ACTUALLY WAS. MOREOVER, A COUPLE TIMES MY FUEL GAUGE WAS POINTING OUTSIDE OF THE E TO F RANGE! THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. GM, YOU NEED TO RECALL THIS AND FIX IT PLEASE. *TR

IT THEN MOVED PAST THE GAUGE NOT ALLOWING TO KNOW MY ACTUAL SPEED. THIS TO ME IS A CAR SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WE NEVER KNOW HOW FAST WE ARE GOING. THE GAS GAUGE HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING FOR MORE THAT 24 MONTHS. THE CAUTION LIGHT (YELLOW) TURNS ON WHEN YOU NEED TO FILL THE TANK SO WE HAVE BEEN USING THIS LIGHT TO FILL THE CAR WITH GAS. THE GAUGE NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. SINCE THE CAR IS NOT ABUSED WE FILL THIS IS SOMETHING WHICH SHOULD HAVE LASTED THE REGULAR 100,000 MILES BEFORE THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE WARRANTY PERIOD IS OVER. FROM TALKING TO OTHER USERS AND REPEATED SEARCHES ONLINE IT SEEM TO BE A REGULAR FAILURE ITEM. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION.
