This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

Safety Features
The vehicle has experienced ongoing and unresolved issues despite multiple service visits. The primary concern is excessive engine vibration. It shakes concerningly when backed into a driveway at an incline and placed in park. This occurs while the vehicle is stationary and idling. The issue has been reproduced and acknowledged by a dealership service advisor during a test drive, who stated the vibration was excessive and concerning. However, no repair was completed, and no clear diagnosis has been provided. The vehicle has also displayed repeated error messages with no confirmed cause, ongoing Bluetooth connectivity issues even after system updates and resets, and a malfunctioning forward collision warning system. Prior repair attempts include replacement of the backup camera, center console, and exterior windshield trim. The windshield trim repair was incomplete, as only the middle section was replaced while the remaining components were not, resulting in a mismatched and unresolved condition. No service documentation was provided for the most recent visit despite being advised that updated findings would be sent. These issues have persisted across multiple service attempts and remain unresolved. The engine vibration and malfunctioning safety systems raise safety and reliability concerns, including the potential for reduced driver awareness and increased risk of a collision.
My vehicle started overheating out of no where towed it to the shop, it’s been there for 2 weeks they’re actively waiting for a manufacturer engineer to tell them what to do because they can’t figure out how to fix it. On top of that there have been a lot of overheating issues cause by different parts on the vehicle. There was another trailblazer in the at the same time as mine that was also overheating! A 2025 vehicle should not be having issues at this point gmc should just take all the trailblazers off the market! Also they need to change their manufacturing warranty on rentals because not one person should not have to pay out of pocket for a rental when it’s the manufacturers fault!
the dash/infotainment system goes blank while driving, almost like the car looses power. then turns back on after 60 seconds with all the warning lights on before returning back to normal
My car along with multiple other cars like mine are having issues with the back up camera not working. I have to take it into a Chevrolet dealer to get it replaced. It is a huge safety concern and a recall needs to be issued.
The nut on the axle on the passenger side of the vehicle came completely off. Not sure how long it was off as it was “smooth” and full of dirt. From what I was told the wheel could fall off. I travel on an interstate at 80 miles an hour daily. I bought this car to transport elderly mother to appointments. I am not feeling confident in this vehicle. I would trade it if I was not upside down in it. The dealership has been great.
The incident involved a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer, purchased new in late February 2025. The failure appears related to the vehicle’s electrical/charging system and associated control modules, resulting in a sudden loss of critical safety systems. The vehicle was towed by GM Roadside Assistance and is currently at an authorized Chevrolet dealership, where it is available for inspection upon request. While driving in Cambria, New York, the dashboard illuminated with multiple warning indicators and the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power steering and braking. The brake pedal traveled fully to the floor with no resistance and no braking effect. Steering effort increased dramatically. The driver was only able to avoid a crash due to favorable road and traffic conditions and was able to coast to a stop and pull off the roadway. This failure posed an immediate and serious risk of injury or death to the driver and others. The problem had occurred previously in the form of repeated warning messages. Beginning within the first week of ownership, the vehicle displayed “Service the Charge System Vehicle May Stall” warnings and since then has appeared hundreds of times. The vehicle was previously towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership, where we were informed that General Motors identified the issue as a known software-related problem and advised that the vehicle could continue to be driven while awaiting a future update. The catastrophic failure occurred after this guidance. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Chevrolet dealership both prior to and following this incident, and General Motors has been involved through dealership communication. No police or insurance inspection has occurred, as no collision resulted. Based on the repeated warnings, dealer statements, and nature of the failure, the best assessment is an electrical or software-related malfunction, though the precise root cause remains UNKNOWN and requires investigation.
Rear camera stopped working
The vehicle displayed a warning on the dash that the battery was not charging properly and vehicle may stall. The vehicle was checked at dealership and issue was disregarded. 3 days later the vehicle showed the same warning and the battery light flickered, there was a chane in the power and lights dimmed. This was evaluated by dealership, apparently it is a known issue but no resolution available. When the battery light flashed during the second event there was no control over the vehicle (power/steering) creating a very concerning safety issue.
The radio system working with the phone produces a high pitch static noise when trying to make a phone call or when receiving a phone call. This has been reported to the dealership.Mechanics say that chevrolet does not android phones, only iphones and this is causing the problem with the radio system, the Lights will go on and off at a moment's notice whether you're driving when you're driving radio plays when it wants to play like I said you can't receive Or make phone calls in this car, you have to be outside of the car with the car switched off in order to make a phone call, driving down the road in the middle of the night the lights could just go out sometimes for a whole 10 minutes before they come on again, radio does the same thing in and out in and out at anytime, it does not care Is there a fix for these problems. Dealership did not note this problem said it was not a fix and phone needed to be changed, so there is no documentation of the incidence as they happen. Dealership refused to do the paperwork refused to check, it said it was normal because of that Android phone. Chevy does not support an Android phone on their vehicles.
There is something wrong with the battery charging system, this is a known issue for GM. I've brought it to the dealership to address the issue and they do not know what is wrong or how to fix it. Sixteen times since I got this vehicle it has flashed a warning "service charging system: your vehicle may stall because the battery is not charging properly. Schedule service soon." I obtained this vehicle April 30th with 5 miles on it. They still do not have a fix for this, the dealership stated they would contact me when there is a recall....
While driving the car stalled and eventually stopped running. The battery was still on, but there was no power to the engine. The car needed to be pushed out of the road and towed to the dealership for work.
On 4/14 with only 21 miles on the odometer in this newly purchased car the entire transmission failed, per the dealership because of a “leaking valve”. The check engine light came on after the car was jumpy and then the car refused to speed up on an extremely busy street and began locking up, putting us at serious risk of an accident. It was barely able to reach a parking lot and at that point all of the transmission fluid leaked out all over the parking lot.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that when he stopped the vehicle and had shut the vehicle off but had left the vehicle in drive (D) and had not engaged the parking brake, the vehicle rolled forward. The contact stated that this was also occurring when he had stopped the vehicle, turned the vehicle off and placed it in reverse (R) without engaging the parking brake the vehicle rolled backwards. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 700.
See attached document for complaint.
Vehicle would not go over 20 mph at times. When vehicle would shift from 2nd to 3rd gear the engine would race yet not engage.
My Navigation, Radio, Internet and OnStar went out and continually goes out on a day-by-day basis. I was in a different state, and it was pouring rain, my navigation, radio and OnStar ability was gone. Chevy knows this is an ongoing issue with 2024 and said the radio is back ordered. This car is a 2025 and its still and issue. The ability to fix it has been stated as unknown because they have no fix for the radio at this time in either year. When you rely on Navigation to get you home and it leaves in torrential rainstorm, and you have no idea how to get home that is bad. If I had been in an accident or God forbid rolled down a hill. OnStar would not have been alerted to this and it could be a potential life or death issue. Everything in the front of the car goes out. I am not sure what else is affected as the car is new and I am learning all the different devices. In all states nationwide it is illegal to hold your device, that is why we rely on this technology. There is no lights or failure indication other than the OnStar goes red and the radio goes out. OnStar has stated if my button is red, it's a hardware failure and they will not be alerted, and I will not be able to alert them to an emergency situation.
