HEATER AND A/C WASN'T WORKING CORRECTLY AS HOT AND COLD AIR WEREN'T CONSISTENTLY BLOWING THROUGH THE VENTS. DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WITH THE HEATER AND A/C IS DUE TO A BAD TEMPERATURE ACTUATOR WHICH WILL COST ABOUT $350 PLUS TAX. THEY REPLACED THE MODE DOOR ACTUATOR SYSTEM IN DEC 2013 BECAUSE NO AIR WAS BLOWING THROUGH THE DEFROST VENTS, WHICH COST $415. ELECTRONICS KEEP FAILING AND ARE EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR/REPLACE. *TR
AIR CONDITIONING/HEAT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. A/C WILL BLOW HOT AIR SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES THE BLOWER WILL ONLY WORK ON FRONT VENTS. THE DEFROST WILL NOT BLOW AT THE TOP VENTS. NO MATTER WHAT SETTING YOU PUT IT ON IT ONLY BLOWS IN THE FRONT. TSB #PIE-0161 NHTSA #10038747. YET ANOTHER KNOWN PROBLEM THAT I CAN'T GET MY CHEVY DEALER TO COVER. I HAD THE ACTUATOR REPLACED AND THAT HELPED WITH THE HAVING ALL THE VENTS WORK BUT THE A/C WILL RUN HOT SOMETIMES. IF I HAVE THE HEAT ON IN THE MORNING AND THEN TRY TO USE THE A/C LATER IN THE AFTERNOON THE A/C WILL RUN HOT. IF I START THE CAR WITH THE A/C ON IN THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY IT WILL STAY COLD. IT IS ONLY WHEN SWITCHING BETWEEN SETTINGS. *TR
ORIGINAL OWNER- THE DEFROSTER DOES NOT WORK, WINDSHIELD WINDOW FOGS UP BAD WHEN RAINING; VENT CONTROL ON 2LT INDICATES DEFROST MODE, BUT NO AIR FLOWING OUT VENTS ADJACENT TO WINDSHIELD AND NO BLOWN FUSES FOUND. *TR
ON JANUARY 13, 2012 AT NOON MY WIFE WENT TO A PARKING LOT WITH MY TWO KIDS. SHE TURN OFF THE IGNITION, REMOVE THE KEY AND BRING IT WITH HER, OPEN DRIVER DOOR TO OPEN REAR DOOR AND REMOVE KIDS FROM THEIR CAR SEATS. ONCE KIDS ARE FREE SHE CLOSE REAR DOOR AND THEY MOVE TO CARGO AREA WITH MY WIFE TO EAT HOT DOGS, SHE HAD OPENED BACK DOOR. BEING THERE MY BOY WALK TO THE DRIVER AREA, MY WIFE CALLS HIM BUT SHE FOUND HIM EXTRANGULATED AT THE DRIVER SEAT WITH THE WINDOW. SHE AND OTHER PERSONS RUN TO REMOVE HIM BUT TOOK A WHILE UNTIL THEY FOUND THE KEY AT THE CARGO AREA. MY SON WASN'T BREATHING AND THERE WAS NO PULSE, ONE GUY GAVE HIM CPR AND OTHER PERSON SAW AN AMBULANCE CLOSE TO THEM AND CALL THEM. AMBULANCE PERSONNEL REVIVE HIM WITH CPR AND PLACE A TUBE TO HIS LUNGS AND TRANSPORT HIM TO CLOSEST HOSPITAL. HE SPENT ONE DAY AT ICU AND THREE DAYS AT REGULAR ROOM. BASICALLY HE DIED FOR AROUND 5 MINUTES. I WILL LIKE CHEVROLET INVESTIGATE THIS, HOW A WINDOW GOES UP AFTER KEY IS REMOVED FROM IGNITION AND DOORS ARE OPENED. IT DIDN'T HAPPENS TO US BUT SOMEBODY CAN BE KILLED OR HURT IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG ON THE ELECTRIC OR WINDOW SYSTEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW WIPERS WERE EXTREMELY SLOW AND WOULD NOT PROPERLY CLEAR THE REAR WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST THE CONTACT BECAUSE THEY WERE UNABLE TO ALTER THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO BE PERFORMING TO STANDARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,000. UPDATED 02/06/12*BF UPDATED 02/10/12
