CAR WOULDN'T START THEN WHEN IT DID THE GEAR INDICATOR LIGHTS TURNED RED AND SHIFTS REALLY HARD THEN YOU CAN SHUT CAR OFF AND WIGGLE THE SHIFTER AND IT WILL START BACK UP AND RUN FINE FOR A WHILE THEN WHEN SITTING AT A LIGHT IT MIGHT GO BACK TO THE RED LIGHTS AND START SHIFTING HARD AGAIN WAS TOLD ITS THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) YOU REALLY NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO DO THIS HAS DONE IT IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNS WHEN IT STARTS OR JUST SITTING IN PLACE
MY SON WAS DRIVING HIGH WAY 280 EAST BOUND MP15.1 WHEN A VEHICLE IT US FROM BEHI D THEN HIT US A SECOND TIME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR BETWEEN THE PASSAGERS FRONT AND BACK DOOR BUSTING THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW OUT AND DENTED THE WHOLE PASSAGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE TOTALLING THE VEHICLE OUT WE ENDED UP HITTING AND DAMAGING THE DIVIDER WALL BEFORE COMING TO A STOP ALONG THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION....IT WAS RAINING CATS AND DOGS... REALLY HARD
POWER STEERING GOES IN AND OUT DUE TO SHORTAGE TO TERMINAL. CAUSES ENTIRE DASH BOARD TO FLICKER OR CAR NOT TO START. TRACTION CONTROL COMES ON MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND WILL NOT TURN OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL. WHILE IN TRAFFIC, THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT POWERED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED FIFTEEN MINUTES. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEETS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 250 AUTO PLAZA DRIVE, BECKLEY, WV 25801, (304) 252-4555) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V542000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT IT DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
SO THIS IS LIKE THE THIRD(3) TIME THAT MY BATTERY HAS GONE DEAD. AT FIRST IT WAS THE STOCK BATTERY. THEN I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW ON AT MY LOCAL AUTO ZONE FOR $200 AND SOMETHING. THEN THE SAME THING KEEPS HAPPENING. ONCE IT HAPPENS THE STIRRING WHEEL BEGINS TO GET REALLY REALLY TIGHT UNTIL YOU CAN'T REALLY MOVE IT. ONE DAY MY GIRLFRIEND WAS DRIVING IT AND SHE GOT STOCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T MOVE IT. BUT IT IS REALLY SCARY BECAUSE YOU HAVE CARS BEHIND YOU DRIVING 60+MPH AND YOU PRAY THAT YOU DON'T GET HIT BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT NOBODY TO GET INJURED SPECIALLY YOU. HOPE DODGE DOES SOMETHING ABOUT. REALLY STARTING TO DISLIKE THE CAR I LOVE. :/
THE CLUTCH CABLE BECAME DISCONNECTED JUST AS I WAS PULLING INTO A GAS STATION
SHIFTING STICK IS STUCK, THE CAR APPEARS TO BE STUCK IN REVERSE BUT ACTUALLY IS STUCK IN NEUTRAL, THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND CAR WON'T TURN ON. DAY PRIOR TO THIS CAR WAS PARK ALL DAY, LATER IN THE EVENING IT WAS DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 3-5 MILES AND PARKED WITHOUT AN ISSUE. NOTHING WAS OUT OF THE ORDINARY UNTIL THE NEXT DAY WHEN I TRIED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN.
TAKATA RECALL THIS CAR IS GARBAGE ! DODGE SHOULDN'T MAKE THIS MODEL ANYMORE. I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS TWO YEARS IN OF HAVING THIS CAR. I HAD TO START CHANGING TIRES SO MANY TIME. AIR ALWAYS GOES DOWN, TIRES KEEP GETTING THOSE AIR BALLS. (NO I DON'T PARK CLOSE TO THE SIDEWALK OR HIT THE SIDEWALK) MY STEERING WHEEL ALWAYS CRACKS EVERYTIME I TURN IT. MY WHOLE CAR SHAKES ! I PRESS THE BRAKES AND IT GOES CRAZY. MY ENGINE MESSED UP TOO (IT HAD WATER INSIDE) I HAD TO FIX SOME HEATING HOSE ! MY WINDOW BUTTON STUGGLES TO GO UP ?I HAD TO CHANGE MY BATTERY THREE TIME ! KEEP IN MIND I GOT THIS CAR NEW. ZERO EVERYTHING ! FOR 6 YEARS ! I'VE PUT SO MUCH MONEY ON A CAR I HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED PAYING ! A CAR NEEDS THING TO GET FIXED BUT NOT LIKE THIS! JUST ISN'T NORMAL. GARAGE OF A CAR! DODGE DART SXT 2013 ! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS CAR. SAVE YOURSELF.
I AM EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I WILL GET A NOTIFICATION TO "SERVICE TRANSMISSION." AFTER THAT NOTIFICATION COMES UP MY CAR BECOMES SLOW TO RESPOND TO SHIFTING GEARS. I WILL ALSO NOT BE ABLE TO USE "REVERSE" AS IT WILL STATE THAT THE GEAR IS UNAVAILABLE. DRIVING IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR ARE DIFFICULT AS THE CAR TAKES FOREVER TO HIT A CERTAIN RPM. CAR WILL SOMETIMES NOT TURN ON AFTER THIS HAPPENS AND WILL REMAIN UNDRIVEABLE.
AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I HAVE COME TO FIND THAT DODGE DARTS 2013 AND NEWER HAVE ISSUES WITH BATTERIES GOING DEAD. I HAVE HAD TO GET THE BATTERY REPLACED IN 2015 AND AND NOW HAVING IT REPLACED AGAIN. OTHER DODGE DART OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THIS ON MANY CAR BLOGS AND SIMILAR SITES. THERE IS NO REASON A CAR BUILT IN 2013 SHOULD GO THROUGH 3 BATTERIES IN 5 YEARS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT. I HAVE ATTACHED THE INVOICE FROM THE SERVICE IN 2015 AND CAN PROVIDE THE INVOICE FOR THIS SERVICE ONCE I RECEIVE IT.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT CUT OFF RAINING OR NO RAIN. WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE THEY JUST RUN.
AFTER BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AT MY APARTMENT, I PUT CAR IN DRIVE BUT IT WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND LOCKED IN, LEAVING THE CAR INOPERABLE. CANNOT GET OUT OF NEUTRAL AND CANNOT CUT CAR OFF FULLY AND REMOVE KEY.
ABS MODULE DEVELOPED AN INTERNAL SHORT. ABS MODULE WILL NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE VEHICLE'S ONBOARD COMPUTER. THIS RESULTS IN THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM DISABLING ITSELF. WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATE ON DASHBOARD IE: ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND BRAKE. CHRYSLER CORPORATION WILL NOT WARRANTY THE ABS MODULE.
CAR RECENTLY DIED. SHOWED SIGNS OF A BAD ALTERNATOR- LIGHTS, SENSORS, RADIO SHUT DOWN, POWER STEERING WENT OUT. REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY. DROVE FINE FOR A FEW WEEKS AND ONCE AGAIN THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I AM NOW ON ALTERNATOR FOUR AND BATTERY NUMBER THREE. HAD THE NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY PUT ON, STARTED THE CAR AND THE BATTERY LIGHT COME ON. HAD THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTED, BOTH PASSED AS LONG AS RADIO AND HEAT WAS NOT ON. DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND THE CAR DIED AGAIN LIKE THE ALTERNATOR WAS BAD EXCEPT IT'S NOT BECAUSE IT WAS TESTED. DEALERSHIP WAS OF ZERO HELP AND STILL CAN NOT FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE. THIS CAR IS A COMPLETE HAZARD WHILE DRIVING DUE TO IT DYING IN TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS IN REVERSE, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO MOVE AND THE KEY FAILED TO RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED AND THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED UNDER WARRANTY ON AUGUST 29, 2013. MARCH 13, 2015 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS COMING ON AND THE DEALERSHIP HAD NOTED THAT SEVERAL MODULES HAVE STORED CODE FOR LOST COMMUNICATIONS WITH TCM MODULE U0101-00. PCM NEEDED FLASH UPDATE WHICH WAS DONE. TCM WAS REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 25, 2018. WE THEN HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SHIFTING INTO GEAR WHEN LEAVING PARKED POSITION. COULD NOT REVERSE OR GO FORWARD. WE COULD PHYSICALLY PUT IT INTO GEAR BUT THE CAR ITSELF WOULD NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. IT THEN WENT INTO LIMP MODE. ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 26 IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE PARKED. WE DROVE IT TO CROWFOOT DODGE ON MONDAY, AUGUST 27. AS WE WERE BRINGING IT IN THE CAR WENT TO LIMP MODE AS DRIVING. SO WE LEFT IT WHERE IT STOPPED. WE CALLED THE DODGE MECHANIC AND HE TOLD US THAT HE THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. THEY NEEDED TO ORDER THE PART BUT IT SHOULD BE FIXED ON WEDNESDAY. THE PART WAS NOT THERE ON WEDNESDAY NOR THURSDAY. WE THEN CALLED ON FRIDAY AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND THE CAR STILL HAD SOME INTERNAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. ON THE STATEMENT THEY WROTE THAT THE ACTUATOR FOR 1 CLUTCH AND 3 WAS FAULTY AND BECAUSE IT WAS INTEGRATED INTO THE TRANSMISSION THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO REPLACED FOR $11,000. THIS CAR'S WARRANTY EXPIRED ON JUNE 29, 2018 AND 140,000 KM'S CURRENT READ. AS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM PREVIOUSLY WHILE WE WERE STILL IN WARRANTY.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE A WEEK AND A HALF AGO AND THE CLUTCH PEDAL INTERMITTENTLY FEELS STRANGE LIKE IT'S STICKING IN SOME WAY. BEEN DRIVING MANUAL CARS MY ENTIRE DRIVING CAREER (20 YEARS). I HAVE NEVER FELT MY CLUTCH PEDAL DO THIS ON ANY CAR BEFORE! UPON LOOKING ONLINE IT SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUE! I LOVE THE CAR WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL FEELS SMOOTH AND NORMAL, HOWEVER IT IS VERY ALARMING WHEN IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING! SINCE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, I TRULY HOPE CHRYSLER WILL ISSUE A RECALL AS IT SEEMS LIKE MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD EXPENSIVE ISSUES WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER AT AS LITTLE AS 22,000 MILES...IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHILE STARTING THE CAR...MOSTLY HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING HOWEVER.
WHILE STOPPED BEHIND ANOTHER CAR, MY RPMS WENT INTO THE RED WHILE MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE. IT WAS AS IF MY CAR WERE IN NEUTRAL AND I HAD HIT THE GAS. I DIDNT GO ANYWHERE BUT MY RPMS JUMPED TO 7. I KNOW THERE USED TO BE A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THE CONTROL MODULE AND I'VE HAD MY CAR SERVICED FOR THE RECALL. THE DEALER I TOOK MY CAR TO STATES MY CAR DID HAVE THIS ISSUE. AFTER HAVING THE RECALL CORRECTED THE SAME THING SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE RPM INCREASED AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO BE OUT OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WITH THE SELECTOR SHIFT IN THE DRIVE POSITION BUT WOULD MOVE WHEN MANUAL SELECTED IN 1ST GEAR. RECALL R42 HAS BEEN PREFORMED THAT ADDRESSED THE SHIFTIER MODULE. INFORMATION FROM THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SERVICE SHOP STATED THAT THE SHIFTIER MODULE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IT APPEARS THAT THIS MODULE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM THAT PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AS IN MY CASE BEING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEED WHEN THE CAR BEGAN SLOWING.
I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THE CAR IN EVERY 2,000 MILES OR SO TO HAVE IT RECALIBRATED(ENGINE LIGHT ON), THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT WENT OUT, SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT IT SAID IT'S THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, BOUGHT ONE AND HAD REGULAR MECHANIC PUT IN, DID NOT WORK. MY REGULAR MECHANIC SAID IT IS PROBABLY THE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE, AND SINCE I NEED TO TAKE IT IN AGAIN FOR RECALIBRATION I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THE MODULE WAS CHECKED AND HAVE IT REPLACED. SORRY I BOUGHT THIS CAR, IT'S IN THE SHOP EVERY 3-4 MONTHS!!!
PULL INTO A PARKING LOT WHEN I WENT TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK IT WOULD NOT GO INTO PARKING AND HAD TO PUT EMERGENCY BRAKE ON TRYING TO TAKE THE KEY OUT WOULDN'T LET ME IT TURN OUT TO BE THE AUTO TRANS SHIFTER LINKAGE BROKE OFF
VACUUM PUMP LEAKING OIL AND A BURNING SMELL COMES THROUGH THE VENTS WHEN BRAKES ARE PUSHED, ALSO CAUSED THE O2 SENSOR TO GO BAD AND A/C TO NOT WORK LIKE IT SHOULD. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AND YOU PUSH THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN OR COME TO A STOP.
I NEVER KNEW THE CAR HAD A RECALL I ONLY HAD THE CAR A MONTH
WHEN YOU PUT ON REVERSE GEAR THE GEAR GIVES JERK AND WILL NOT HOLD,,,CAR HAS TO BE RESTARTED AND PUT IN REVERSE GEAR AGAIN...ALL THE LIGHTS INDICATION ON GEAR TURNS RED...DODGE DON'T RESOLVE THIS ISSUE...THEY JUST SAY IT IS SENSOR...BUT IT IS TRANSMISSION ISSUE...

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INDEPENDENTLY INTO NEUTRAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SERVICE UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. DEVENY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (401 E B ST, MCCOOK, NE 69001), WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
I TOOK MY DODGE DART INTO A DEALERSHIP AFTER IT SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT SO I DROVE IT SOME MORE AND NOW IT SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION,NO REVERSE,AND ENGINE TEMP TO HOT SO I CALLED CRYSTLER AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT SINCE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR SINCE JANUARY 24TH OF THIS YEAR I SHOULDNT BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH IT AND THE HUN I LOOK THE VIN UP IT SAYS IT'S A DODGE DART SXT WHEN IT'S A RALLYE SO SOMETHING DON'T MAKE SINCE I DON'T FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE SCREWED OVER AND HAVE TO PAY 8,000$ FOR A BROKEN CAR
MY CAR IS TICKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IN RESEARCHING EVERYONE WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE HAVING TO REPLACE THE CV JOINT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. SUPER FRUSTRATING THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS AS IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE. WHEN TRYING TO PURCHASE THE PASSENGER CV JOINT EVERYONE IS SELLING USED CV JOINTS FOR DRIVERS SIDE AND THERE IS NOT OPTIONS FOR PASSENGER SIDE.
MY 2013 DODGE DART INATTENTIONALLY SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT CHANGE OUT OF NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO DODGE DEALER FOR REPAIR.

THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK HOME AND LATER TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS INITIALLY DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER (CROWN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM DUBLIN, 6350 PERIMETER LOOP RD, DUBLIN, OH 43017, (888) 739-0282) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) FAILED. THE PART WAS ORDERED AND THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, BUT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM BURNED OUT THE HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR AND THE CLUTCH, WHICH CAUSED SLIPPING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ACTUATOR AND THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER. THE FIRST REPAIRS WERE COVERED UNDER THE FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO FIND OUT IF THE LATEST REPAIRS WOULD BE COVERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,861.

CLUTCH STICKS DOWN AND HAS TO BE PULLED BACK UP MANUALLY. AT TIMES IT IS DIFFICULT TO SWITCH GEARS AS IT DOESN'T SEEM TO FULLY DISENGAGE. HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF DRIVING SITUATIONS OR TEMPERATURE. HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON DODGE FORUMS DESCRIBING THE SAME ISSUE.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEH LAST YEAR 3/2017, JUST STARTED HAVING CLUTCH STUCK TO THE FLOOR ISSUES RECENTLY. JUST LAST WEEK AS A MATTER OR FACT, 6 DAYS AGO TODAY (7/25/2018). ISSUES BEGAN 7/19 AS I RECALL AND HAVE A TEXT WHERE I NOTIFIED MY SPOUSE OF THE ISSUE. THE VEH GETS STUCK W CLUTCH TO THE GROUND UNABLE TO CHANGE GEARS THEREFOR UNABLE TO TAKE OFF, VEH IS CURRENTLY PARKED AT STARBUCKS. CALLED DEALERSHIP, IT HAS 70100 MILES, THEY SAID IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME READING AND I AM NOT ALONE. MANY AND MANY OTHER DODGE DART OWNERS ARE GOING AND HAVE GONE THRU SAME THING. MY PROBLEM IS I AM NOT ORIGINAL OWNER AND SEEMS MY WARRANTY EXPIRED A FEW MONTHS AGO BEFORE THE ISSUE BEGAN. I NEED DIRECTION OR ADVISE HOW TO PROCEED. DODGE WAS WELL AWARE AND REPLACED MANY MASTER CYLINDERS AND ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. I AM JUST BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY AND IT'S THE SAME ISSUE, NOT SURE WHY IT IS NOT COVERED!!! RECALL R42 . THIS RECALL APPLIES ONLY TO THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT AND IT STATES THAT THE MODULE COULD RANDOMLY GET INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. WE HAD THIS CALLED SERVICED AT NYLE MAXWELL IN AUSTIN AND IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER TAKING THE CAR IN AN LEAVING IT IN FOR THEM TO FIX IT FOR WEEKS TWICE SO FAR, THEY RETURN IT AS "PROBLEM COULD NOT BE FOUND OR DUPLICATED" I HAVE SINCE THEN PURCHASE, TWO MORE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULES (TCM) TO FIX THE SAFETY ISSUE I FOUND A REPLICA OF WHAT WAS PUT IN AT THE DEALER TO SERVICE RECALL R42. UPON A FAILURE! THE TCM MODULE DOES NOT RECOVER AND RENDERS THE CAR IN MOBILE WHEN THE SPARE MODULE IS PLUGGED IN, THE ERRORS GO AWAY AND THE TRANSMISSION STARTS TO RUN CORRECTLY. THE CAR CAN THEN BE STOP BY TURNING OF THE CAR AND THE FAILING UNIT RECONNECTED AND THE CAR STARTS TO RUN CORRECTLY AGAIN WITHOUT THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION ERROR AND THE ABSENCE OF GEARS. THIS PROVES IT IS NOT THE TRANSMISSION BUT THE SMARTS IN THE TCM. AS FOR THE TCM THAT WAS PUT IN, THAT ONE IS STILL FAILING TO OPERATE THE TRANSMISSION WITHOUT LEAVING US BROKEN DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT GEARS. SO PLEASE HELP ME INVESTIGATE, WHAT IS THE LAST AND APPROPRIATE VERSION THAT WOULD FIX R42 RECALL ISSUES IN THIS 2013 DART DODGE DDTC 1.4L TURBO MODEL. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT NEW SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A REMEDY. THE CONTACT WAS PLACED ON AN EMAIL LIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
I PULLED MY 2013 DODGE DART IN TO A PARKING SPOT AND WENT TO PUT IT IN PARK BUT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT, I COULD NOT GET THE KEY OUT EITHER, WHEN I WENT TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG THE TRANSMISSION LINK CABLE WAS DISCONNECTED UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE PIN THE CONNECTS IT FELL OUT THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO SHIF THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I SEE THIS YET ANOTHER COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. AND A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. WHY HASN'T DODGE BEEN FORCE TO RECALL THIS AND FOX THE PROBLEMS.
IN THE LAST 4 WEEKS, WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR HAS DISPLAYED A "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" ERROR AND "GEAR NOT AVAILABLE ERROR." THE FIRST TIME WAS ON I-10 AND IT OCCURRED AND I HAD TO PULL ON THE SIDE OR THE INTERSTATE. MY CARD WAS IN D, BUT IT WOULD NOT DRIVE OR REVERSE. I TURNED IT OFF AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT CRANK SAME SERVICE MESSAGES ABOVE POPPED UP. AFTER SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE FOR 20 MINS, I TURNED IT BACK OK AND I WAS ONLY ABLE TO GO ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR. I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK TO MY HOTEL ROOM. THE MESSAGE DISAPPEAR AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF, SO THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. YESTERDAY, ON JULY 8, 2018, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 75, GOING ABOUT 65 MPH, AND THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE POPPED UP AGAIN. I HAD TO PULLED TO THE SIDE OR THE INTERSTATE AGAIN, BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE. I TURNED IT OFF AGAIN AND WAITED FOR 5 MINS AND I WAS ABLE TO EASE BACK TO MY HOME. AS OF RIGHT NOW, THE DEALERSHIP STILL CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. THOUGH THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEMS, I AM SEEING SEVERAL OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THEIR 2013 MODELS. I'VE FOUND SEVERAL FORUMS EXPLAINING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I AM HAVING AS WELL AS YOUTUBE VIDEOS. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET DODGE TO DO A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE.
THE CLUTCH SYSTEM AND TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE IN MY DODGE DART. IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HAS CAUSED INCIDENTS WHERE I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN THIRD OR FOURTH GEAR AND IT WILL JUST SLIP INTO NEAUTRAL AND LOCK UP. I WAS GOING UP A HILL RECENTLY WHEN IT DID THIS CAUSING ME TO FLY BACKWARDS DOWN A HUGE HILL WITH NO BRAKES STEERING OR ANYTHING. IT WAS LIKE SOMETHING JUST DROPPED. IT IS BECOMING A HUGE ISSUE AS I HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND AM SCARED THIS WILL HAPPEN WITH THEM IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING IN OTHER DODGE DARTS YEARS 2013-2018. THE TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS ARE FAULTY. I HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED AND IT IS COSTLY JUST FOR IT TO FAIL AGAIN AND AGAIN. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH SYSTEMS IN THESE AND COME UP WITH A BETTER DESIGN THAT IS NOT A DANGER TO PEOPLE'S LIVES.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,312.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK@ 0730 HRS, TRAVELING ON I 294 N/B, AT A SPEED OF APPROX 45/50 MPH WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. AS I ATTEMPTED TO REDUCE MY SPEED, TO MOVE OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, I NOTICED MY BRAKES WERE NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. I PULLED THE HAND BREAK UP, WHICH DID NOT RESPOND, I PUSHED IT DOWN AND PULLED IT UP A SECOND TIME, WHICH BARELY SLOWED MY VEHICLE, BUT DID ALLOW ME TO COAST TO A SLOW STOP ON THE SHOULDER. AT THIS TIME, THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND A MAN WHO HAD BEEN TRAVELING BEHIND ME, PULLED OVER TO SAY THAT HE HAD SEEN FLAMES COMING FROM MY TAIL PIPE, BEFORE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT BURST INTO FLAME. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911. I WAITED IN THE RAIN FOR ILLINOIS STATE POLICE AND THE FIRE DEPT TO RESPOND. STATE POLICE REPORT#IL 0229900 WAS MADE UPON THE TROOPERS ARRIVAL.
MY RADIO HAS BLACKED OUT FOR NO REASON. MY MILEAGE ON MY DIGITAL INSTRUMENT PANEL IS FLASHING. WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DODGE DEALER WITH THIS BEING A KNOWN ISSUE, THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $128 DOLLAR DIAGNOSTIC FEE IN WHICH I DO NOT HAVE. I HAVE ASKED BOTH MY MECHANIC AND A RADIO INSTALLER AND THEY BOTH HAVE SAID THAT THE MILEAGE FLASHING IS A CONCERN ALONG WITH THE RADIO BLACKENED OUT. THAT ONE PROBLEM COULD LEAD TO ANOTHER. POSSIBLE CAUSE IS THE CONTROL MODULE FOR THE ENTIRE CAR, WHICH COULD LEAD TO DOOR LOCKS GOING HAYWIRE, THE WIPERS GOING ON AND OFF, ETC. MY CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN YHE RADIO WENT OUT AND THE MILEAGE FLASHING. RADIO USUALLY GOES OUT FOR ABOUT 10 MINS AND COMES BACK ON. BUT NOT THIS TIME.
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR HAS BEEN SAYING SERVICE TRANSMISSION AT LEAST 2 OR 3 TIMES A WEEK AND IT WILL HAPPEN AS I'M DRIVING SO IT'LL SAY SERVICE TRANSMISSION AND THEN I'LL FEEL LIKE A PULL AND AS I START PRESSING ON THE BREAK THE ENGINE WILL REV AND THEN WHEN I PARK IT AND TURN IT OFF AND TRY TURNING IT BACK ON IT WON'T TURN BACK ON FOR AT LEAST A DAY SO IT LEAVES ME STRANDED 2-3 TIMES A WEEK OR I'VE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT'LL DO THAT AND I TRY TO KEEP GOING AND PRESS ON THE GAS AND IT WON'T WORK IT JUST REVS SO I'LL BE GOING LESS THEN SPEED LIMIT WHILE EVERYONE ELSE GOES SPEED LIMIT AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT AT LEAST TWICE. ROLLING UP TO A STOP SIGN AND MY CLUTCH PETAL DROPPED TO THE FLOOR AND STAYED THERE. COULD NOT PUT IT INTO GEAR.
