TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V542000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS SHIFTED FROM NEUTRAL TO REVERSE TO DRIVE FOR THE VEHICLE TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HESITATED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (SLEEPY HOLLOW CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP, INC. LOCATED AT 1310 N MAIN ST, VIROQUA, WI 54665), WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED HE ABLE TO RESTART THE COMPUTER ON HIS OWN BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO LOCAL (BERGSTROM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF OSHKOSH LOCATED AT 3650 JACKSON DRIVE RD, OSHKOSH, WI 54901-1216, WHERE IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
CAR CONSUMES 1QT OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. THE VALVETRAIN IS HYDRAULIC AND WHEN LOW THE CAR STUTTERS AND STALLS.
WHILE TRAVELING AT A STEADY 45 MPH WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN "DRIVE", THE VEHICLE SOUNDED AN AUDIBLE ALERT. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYED A MESSAGE THAT SAID "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AT THIS POINT, I FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER POWER AND WAS ACTING AS THOUGH IT HAD SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. I PULLED FROM THE ROADWAY. WHILE STOPPED, I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE TO PARK. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY ADVISED ME TO SHIFT THE CAR TO NEUTRAL AND THEN TO DRIVE OR REVERSE. INITIALLY, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO COMPLETE THIS STEP, I RECEIVED AN ALERT SAYING "GEAR NOT AVAILABLE". AFTER COMPLETING THIS PROCESS SEVERAL TIMES OVER 10 MINUTES, I GOT MY GEARS BACK AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PERFORMED TROUBLESHOOTING. THE CODES REPORTED BY THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED "NEUTRAL ENGAGEMENT" AND "MULTIPLE GEAR SELECTION" BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO NO FIX WAS ATTEMPTED. THEY CLEARED THE CODES AND RETURNED THE CAR TO ME. THE VEHICLE IS THE 1.4L TURBO ENGINE WITH THE DUAL DRY CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. A REVIEW OF THIS ISSUE ONLINE INDICATES THAT IN ADDITION TO MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS TO NHTSA THERE ARE A NUMBER OF BLOG ENTRIES AND FORUMS ON THE TOPIC. IN FACT, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED DURING A TEST DRIVE BY CAR REVIEWER FOR YAHOO. THIS PROBLEM CREATES A SIGNIFICANT DANGER TO NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME. HAD THE TRANSMISSION FAILED UNDER ACCELERATION INTO TRAFFIC IT COULD HAVE BEEN QUITE DANGEROUS. I FEEL LIKE I GOT LUCKY IN THIS SITUATION THAT IT HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING IN AN AREA WHERE IT WAS SAFE TO PULL OFF WITHOUT POWER. *TR
THE FUSE THAT POWERS THE REAR BACKUP CAMERA FAILED TWICE WITHIN ONE YEAR. THIS PARTICULAR FUSE IS BURIED SOMEWHERE IN THE DASH AND REQUIRES TREMENDOUS TIME AND EFFORT TO CHANGE. LUCKILY I WAS UNDER WARRANTY BOTH TIMES BUT NO MORE. I AM CONCERNED IT WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY.

WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR SOUNDS AN AUDIBLE ALERT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON, AND DISPLAYS "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" ON THE CAR'S DASH/DISPLAY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR DROPS INTO NEUTRAL AND I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ANY GEARS. ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE DISPLAYS A "GEAR NOT AVAILABLE" MESSAGE ON THE CAR'S DASH/DISPLAY. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER, OR IF I POWER THE CAR DOWN AND START IT BACK UP, I CAN GET THE GEARS BACK, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON AND THE CAR DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY AND THE CAR IS SLUGGISH. THIS CAR IS THE 1.4L TURBO WITH A DUAL DRY CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES NOW WITHIN THE LAST 1.5 MONTHS. THE FIRST TIME, THE DEALER DID A "REFRESH" ON THE COMPUTER AND STATED THAT THE COMPUTER HAD TO "RELEARN" THE TRANSMISSION. THE SECOND TIME (12/09/2014) THE DEALER SAID THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE THIRD TIME OCCURRED TODAY (12/16/2014) AND IT IS AT THE DEALER NOW WAITING ON SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT. TODAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET MY CAR ACROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC AND ONTO THE SHOULDER OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN NEW JERSEY. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY AS IT WOULD HAVE INVOLVED A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH AN 18-WHEELER SEMI-TRUCK. *TR
ON 12/16/2014 THE VEHICLE FLASHED A "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" INDICATOR UPON TURNING THE CAR OFF THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND THE GEAR INDICATORS ALL TURNED RED SHOWING NO AVAILABLE GEARS. AFTER A SHORT TIME WITH THE VEHICLE OFF THE VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN BUT THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT WAS ON. IT WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SERVICE CENTER WHERE THEY STATED THAT IT NEEDED SOME REPROGRAMMING. ON 01/22/2015 THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK IN FOR SERVICE. UPON LOOKING AT THE CAR I WAS INFORMED NO INDICATORS WERE SHOWING AND THEIR WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES (SOMEHOW THE CAR MYSTERIOUSLY LOST THEM). 01/25/2015 THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN AND IS PRESENTLY AWAITING SERVICE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. AFTER ACTIVATING THE DEFROSTER FOR THE FRONT WINDSHIELD, THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH FRACTURED AND WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE DEALER ON DECEMBER 13, 2014 FOR AN OIL CHANGE BECAUSE THE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS DRIVING HOME AFTER THE OIL CHANGE WAS COMPLETED AND THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR BEGAN JERKING TO THE LEFT. I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER DODGE DEALER TO CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SPEED SENSOR WAS BROKEN. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO I WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE FOR THE REPLACEMENT. AFTER FIXING THE SENSOR THE DEALER NOTIFIED ME THAT THE LIGHT STILL COMES ON. THEY SPOKE TO CHRYSLER ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND WERE TOLD THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEEDED TO KEEP MY CAR OVER THE WEEKEND AND THAT CHRYSLER OFFERED ME A LOANER CAR WHILE THE REPAIR IS BEING DONE. *TR
TO ADD TO A LONG LIST OF ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE WE NOW HAVE A VERY SERIOUS ONE THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT COVER IN THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. ON THANKSGIVING WHEN GETTING READY TO LEAVE A STORE MY WIFE PUT THE VEHICLE INTO WHAT SHE THOUGHT WAS 1ST ONLY TO BEGIN GOING INTO REVERSE. THANKFULLY THERE WAS NOTHING BEHIND AT THE TIME. WE DISCOVERED THAT YOU CAN PUT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AT ANY SPEED OR ANYTIME WITHOUT THE USE OF THE SHIFT RELEASE. UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THEY STATED THAT THE SHIFTER NEEDS REPLACED AS THE CABLE BROKE FREE. THEY ALSO DISCOVER THAT THE REVERSE SHIFT SENSOR HAD GONE BAD AS WELL WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSING THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT TO COME ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL TO STOP WORKING. THIS IS BUT ANOTHER ISSUE THAT THERE WHERE NO WARNING LIGHTS, BELLS OR WHISTLES YET EVERYTHING IS OK BECAUSE THE COMPUTER SAYS IT IS. THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP, THEY WILL NOT FIX EVEN THOUGH IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE SINCE 2012 WHEN THEY FIRST RELEASE THE VEHICLE. APPARENTLY SOMEONE NEEDS TO DIE FOR IT TO BE A SERIOUS ENOUGH ISSUE.. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE MADE TO STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR SHODDY PRODUCTS. OUR HEATER CORE IS LEAKING, TURBO INTERMITTENT, ENGINE SURGES (RPM'S) ETC. *TR
WHEN TRYING TO LIFT UP THE METAL RING ON THE GEAR SHIFT TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, I HEARD A SNAP, AND COULD NOT ENGAGE REVERSE. LUCKILY I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE THAT WAS ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. THE METAL RING IS NOW LOOSE AND THE CAR WILL NOT GO IN REVERSE. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
I HEARD A POPPING SOUND WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES - PEDAL WAS HARD AND BRAKING DID NOT WORK. I WAS ABLE TO STOP BY DOWNSHIFTING TO SLOW MY SPEED AND USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. TO BE CLEAR - MY BRAND NEW CAR, WITH FEWER THAN 11K MILES, THAT I HAVE OWNED FOR LESS THAN A YEAR, DID NOT HAVE ANY FUNCTIONING BRAKES. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO THE FREEWAY, NOT WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE FREEWAY AT 70MPH. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A FAILED BRAKE BOOSTER AND SAID THAT THE CAUSE WAS A "FACTORY DEFECT" - THIS IS A TERRIFYING FACTORY DEFECT THAT COULD HAVE VERY EASILY LED TO A TOTALED CAR AND SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO ME, MY PASSENGERS, PEDESTRIANS, OTHER DRIVERS. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR TO ENSURE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF SAFETY AND RELIABILITY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V675000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE PARTS NEEDED WERE UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ABS AND SRS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE FIRST TIME MY VEHICLE DIDN'T GO INTO REVERSE WAS WHEN I WAS LEAVING WORK. I ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AND THE SHIFT MECHANISM TO ENGAGE THE REVERSE IN MY CAR WOULD NOT COME UP LIKE IT HAS TO FOR REVERSE TO TAKE HOLD. I TRIED TWICE AND TURNED MY CAR OFF. I WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND TRIED AGAIN AND THE CAR ENGAGED REVERSE LIKE NORMAL. FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS THE CAR SHIFTED FINE UNTIL ON 11/23/2014 AFTER STARTING MY CAR AND LETTING IT WARM UP, I ATTEMPTED TO PLACE MY CAR IN REVERSE AND HALFWAY THROUGH THE SHIFT INTO REVERSE ON MY MANUAL CAR I HEARD A POP AND MY CAR JERKED. I THEN LET GO OF MY SHIFTER KNOB AND IT RETURNED INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION. THEN I TRIED TO PUT IT IN TO REVERSE ONCE MORE AND THE SHIFTER KNOB WAS LIMP AND RETURNED TO NEUTRAL BY ITS SELF. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND SINCE I AM MECHANICALLY INCLINED I REMOVED THE LEATHER COVER FROM THE SHIFTER KNOB TO SEE MY REVERSE CABLE HAD SNAPPED CLOSE TO THE BASE OF THE HOUSING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TWO FRONT TIRE SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150.
KUMHO SOLUS KH 25 TIRES INCLUDED ON MY 2013 DODGE DART. BUBBLE ON SIDEWALLS. REPLACED WITH DIFFERENT TIRE AND ROTATED. SECOND TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED AND REPLACED ON AUGUST 1, 2014 ONE OF THE TIRES. TWO OTHER KUMHO SOLUS KH 25 TIRES LEAKING AIR. *TR
KUMHO KH25 225/45/17 TIRES DEVELOPED BUBBLE ON SIDEWALL AT APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES. REPLACED TIRE DUE TO SAFETY ISSUE. SECOND TIRE DEVELOPED SAME PROBLEM AT AROUND 24,000 MILES. REMAINING TWO KH25 TIRES ARE LOSING AIR AND APPEAR TO BE CRACKING. THE TIRES MANUFACTURE CODE IS OUTSIDE OF THE CURRENT RECALL ON THESE TIRE WITH MANUFACTURE DATE OF 4812. *TR
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH MY DODGE DART. IT STARTED BACK IN NOVEMBER 2014 WHEN THE CAR WOULDN'T START AND IT SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION, I HAD IT TOWED AND THEY DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS AN UPDATE ISSUE. THE SECOND TIME THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ONE I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THAT THE UPDATE DIDN'T TAKE, HOURS LATER TOLD ME IT WAS ALL SET TO GO, WENT TO PICK IT UP AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START, DEALER KEPT IT OVER NIGHT, CALLED NEXT DAY AND TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T RECREATE ISSUE AND I NEEDED TO PICK THE CAR UP UNFIXED! COUPLE DAYS LATER THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME BACK, TOOK CAR BACK IN THEY REPLACED THE TCM. THEY CAR STILL SHIFTS HORRILE, THE CAR STARTS SHIFTING GEARS WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, AND MOST RECENTLY THE CAR HAS STARTED NOT KNOWING WHAT GEAR ITS IN AND JUST SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL, WHICH IS PRETTY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING!!!! DEALER CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT....OVER ALL I HATE DRIVING THE CAR BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE AT ALL AND I FEEL LIKE I HAVE NO PLACE TO TURN WITH THE DEALER I AM WORKING WITH AS THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM.
I PICKED UP MY FRIEND FROM HER APARTMENT AND STARTED DRIVING TOWARDS A MAJOR STREET. I WAS GOING ABOUT 30 MPH, AS I WAS APPROACHING THE STOP SIGN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT MADE A SOUND. THE CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN. I PULLED ON THE PARKING BRAKE AND IT DIDN'T STOP THE CAR. I KEPT PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDALS BUT THEY WOULDN'T ENGAGE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHEN ENGAGING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING 80MPH, WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR JUST REVVED UP TO 7500RPM, LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. CHECKED THE GEAR SHIFT AND TRIED AGAIN WITH ONLY GETTING THE CAR TO REV. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES, TURNED IT BACK ON IT ACTED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T CATCHING. NOT ONCE DID IT SHOW ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER WARNINGS. TURNED ON CAR IN THE MORNING, NOTICED THE BACK LIGHTING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS REALLY DIM, I CHECKED THE DIMMING SWITCH TO SEE IF I MOVED IT BY UNKNOWINGLY. I TRIED ADJUSTING THE SWITCHES BUT NOTHING WORKED. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT AND NO CHANGE THEY WERE STILL VERY DIM. I WENT AHEAD AND DROVE TO MY DESTINATION. ON THE TRIP THERE THE LIGHTS FOR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL AS WELL AS THE BACK LIGHTING FOR MY 8.4" SCREEN AND A/C AND RADIO LIGHTS TURNED OFF FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS, AND THEN EVERYTHING TURNED BACK ON, BUT STILL VERY DIM. I GOT TO MY DESTINATION TURNED OFF CAR, GOT OUT AND LEFT THE CAR FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES, CAME BACK AND STARTED IT AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. SINCE THEN, IT HAS HAPPENED EVERYDAY THIS WEEK SO FAR. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN THEN WHEN COMING TO AN INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED HARD. UPON GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THEN BECAME INOPERABLE. NOW ON CHRISTMAS MORNING I HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE, AND AUTOSTICK NOT AVAILABLE MESSAGE DISPLAY. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP HOME TO HAVE R, N, D SHOW GEAR NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER WAITING I TURNED THE CAR ON AND THE MESSAGES CLEARED. THEN 2 DAYS LATER I WAS AN HOUR LATE TO WORK SINCE THE MESSAGES AND SHIFTING PROBLEM OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAY. DURING TRAFFIC STOPPAGES I COULD NOT GET UP TO SPEED FAST ENOUGH AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE MESSAGE AND ISSUE CLEARED AGAIN WHEN I LEFT WORK AND I DROVE HOME BUT NOW IT SHIFTS AT 5,000+ RPM WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP SIGN. BURNING SMELL IS BACK AND CAR IS SLUGGISH. SEEMS LIKE CHRYSLER IS WAITING FOR ENOUGH PEOPLE TO DIE BEFORE ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. CURRENTLY HAVE 39,000 MILES ON CAR. ONGOING CLUTCH/HYDRAULIC PROBLEMS HAVE CAUSED ME TO BE IN SEVERAL UNSAFE SITUATIONS. FIRST SAFETY CONCERN WAS DUE TO CAR STALLING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. THERE WERE SEVERAL TIMES THAT IMPROPER CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT CAUSED THE CAR TO JERK AND DIE AT A STOP. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTING THE DEALER (AND MANUFACTURERER) SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY STILL "DON'T HAVE THE PART" AND I CONTINUE TO BE ON THE "CALL LIST". IN FACT I BROKE DOWN (DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE) IN ANOTHER STATE, PAID FOR A RENTAL THE ENTIRE WEEK IT TOOK TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION (BEFORE THE RECALL) AND GET HOME TO WORK. I ENDED UP LAYING OUT OVER $800 FOR THE RENTAL WHILE THEY REPAIRED THEIR ERROR. THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND KEPT REVVING UP THE ENGINE AND THE CLUTCH DID NOT ENGAGE OR IT SLIPPED. RACING THE ENGINE AND NOT PROPELLING THE CAR WHEN THE GAS WAS STEPPED ON.THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECALL AND PAY FOR THE RENTAL. ANYWAY I AM DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE FOR OVER A YEAR AND A HALF GETTING NO REPAIR FROM LOCAL COMPANIES (THE COMPANY CALLED FOR ANOTHER LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE THE PART AND NEVER FOUND ONE). *TR
I HAD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE IN AUGUST OF 2014 BECAUSE MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF ON ME WHILE AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON, MY TRANSMISSION ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SO I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THEY HAD TO ORDER A PART FOR THE TRANSMISSION. I HAD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AGAIN IN FEBRUARY OF 2015 BECAUSE MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF ON ME ONCE AGAIN WHILE STUCK IN TRAFFIC ON THE EXPRESSWAY. WHEN I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. AGAIN, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS AGAIN HAVING THE SAME ISSUE FROM THE PREVIOUS MONTHS BEFORE. ONCE AGAIN I HAD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE ON MAY OF 2015 BECAUSE MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF ON ME FOR THE THIRD TIME WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT BUT THIS TIME MY VEHICLE STARTED TO SMELL LIKE IT WAS BURNING OIL. WHEN I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE, MY OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN MY CAR WAS BEING LOOKED AT, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE AND THEY ALSO STATED THAT " SOMETHING WORSE HAD TO HAPPEN TO MY VEHICLE FOR THEM FIX THE PROBLEM." THEY TEST DROVE MY VEHICLE AND THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE SO IT WAS RETURNED TO ME. SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE IF IT KEEPS ON SHUTTING OFF ON ME WHILE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT AND ALSO SMELLING LIKE BURNING OIL AND FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY CAR THIS LAST VISIT IS REALLY UPSETTING. ALL OF THESE SCENARIOS HAVE HAPPENED IN LESS THAN A YEAR OF PURCHASING MY VEHICLE.THIS IS VERY SCARY AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE THIS CAUSES A CRASH OR POSSIBLY DEATH! I SENT A LETTER TO CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS SITUATION, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. THIS IS SO SAD.
