THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER, DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY, RECONNECTED THE BATTERY, RESTARTED THE ENGINE, AND THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MADE BY ALFA ROMEO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALFA ROMEO BURLINGAME (2 CALIFORNIA DR, BURLINGAME, CA 94010, (877) 895-2009) WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WOULD BE $7,000. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WENT TO ANOTHER UNKNOWN DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT A COMPUTER UPDATE WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WERE WORKING WITH THE LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,800. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DODGE DART SHIFTER CABLE SAFETY RECALL HAS NOT YET BEEN FIXED NOR IS THERE A REMEDY FOR IT YET. IT HAS BEEN QUITE A FEW MONTHS AND I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR. THERE HASN'T BEEN AN INCIDENT BUT I HAVE BEEN MONTHS WITHOUT A CAR THAT I NEED TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE AND AM PAYING FOR.
I HAVE A RECALL WARNING THAT THE DODGE DART SHIFTING CABLE MAY BREAK AND THIS DID HAPPEN ON MY VEHICLE. THE DODGE DART IS AT THE DODGE DEALER AND THEY TELL ME I HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE THE SHIFTING CABLE BECAUSE THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX YET. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING FOR DODGE TO FIX THE PROBLEM REGARDLESS IF THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX TO THE PROBLEM YET.
I WAS IN A PARKING SPOT IN NEUTRAL AND WENT TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND THE CORD ON THE REVERSE POPPED.

WAS DRIVING MY 2013 DODGE DART, WHEN I WENT TO PARK THE SHIFTER WOULD MOVE BUT IT WAS NOT ACTUALLY CHANGING GEARS. I HAD TO TURN ON EMERGENCY BRAKE AND TURN ENGINE OFF I AM NOW UNABLE TO TAKE KEY OUT AND I HAD TO LET THE BATTERY DIE, THE VEHICLE IS NOW DISABLED IN FRONT OF A FRIENDS HOUSE AND I AM UNABLE TO MOVE IT.
THE SHIFTER CABLE KEEPS COMING OFF AND NO ONE CAN FIX IT YET. IT IS A SAFETY DEAL FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. THERE IS A RECALL ON IT BUT WHEN I CALL DODGE CAR LOTS THEY SAY IT CAN'T BE FIXED CAUSE THERE IS NO SOLUTION FOR IT. I HAVE ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE IT HAS CAME OFF NOT ONCE BUT SEVERAL TIMES. IN THE MORNINGS WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR MY CLUTCH PEDAL STICKS DOWN AND I HQVE TO PULL IT UP USING MY FOOT/HAND. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSION DARTS. HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER ABIUT THE ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE PAID OUT OF POCKET SAY THAT IT IS A SLAVE/ MASTER CYLINDER ISSUE AND IF NOTHING IS DONE DURING EARLY STAGES LIKE STARTING YOUR CAR IN THE MORNING. IT DOES START TO HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND DOES CAUSE FURTHER DAMAGE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A HUGE SAFTEY CONCERN THAT THEY SHOULD FIX.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) WAS NEEDED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TCM WAS PART OF THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE REPAIR, WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. WHEN THE CONTACT ARRIVED HOME, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER. 59535744. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

FIRST MY WIPER FLUID WOULD NOT SPRAY, WHICH CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. THEN, ONE DAY I WENT TO PUT MY TURN SIGNAL ON AND MY WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN OFF FROM THAT MOMENT FORWARD. IT WAS NOT RAINING AND THE WIPERS WERE NOT ON ALREADY. MY CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN THIS HAPPENED. PARKED ON A SUBURBAN STREET. I WAS ADVISED IT'S AN ISSUE WITH THE RIBBON IN THE CONTROL ARM. I HAVE AVOIDED ACCIDENTS, BUT I ALSO CANNOT DRIVE AT ALL IF IT'S RAINING. I HAD MY FRIEND CUT THE POWER FROM THE MOTOR B/C OF COURSE NO FUSE. MY WIPERS WOULDN'T STOP MOVING AND THEN THEY STARTED STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING WHICH BECAME EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. IT'S EXTREMELY COSTLY TO FIX.
MY SHIFT GEAR IS NOT MOVING AT ALL AND IT CAUSES ME NOT TO TURN MY CAR OFF OR ON. MY KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION ALSO.
CAR WILL NOT START. IT WILL TURN ON BUT NOT START THE CAR. BATTERY AND STARTER WERE REPLACED. MECHANIC NOTED THAT THE FUSE BOX WAS HOT, EVEN THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS COOL. HE FEELS THAT IT COULD BE THE COMPUTER OR FUSE BOX. THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES START. BUT, I HAVE BEEN STRANDED AND CANNOT RELY ON IT TO START. COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS DOES NOT COME UP WITH ANYTHING. REACHING OUT TO THE DODGE DART OWNERS COMMUNITY, THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM. SO FAR, NO ONE KNOW WHAT TO DO. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY ON COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS WHEN IT WON'T HELP.

I BOUGHT A DODGE DART 2013 LIMITED EDITION (OR WAS TALKED INTO IT BY YOUR SALESPEOPLE) I WANTED THIS TO BE MY LAST CAR AND I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKED IT. THEN I STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL RANDOMLY. I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALER BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES AND THEY SAID THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD. A LEMON LAW FIRM CONTACTED ME AND SAID THEY COULD REPLACE THE CAR IF I HAD 3 OCCURRENCES WITH RECEIPTS WHICH I SUBMITTED TO THEM. THEY SAID CHRYSLER WAS GIVING ME $3900. I WAS CONFUSED BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WERE GIVING ME ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE CAR. THEY EXPLAINED CHRYSLER DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT. I ACTUALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT (THAT WAS 2016) AND THOUGHT THE ISSUE HAD BEEN FIXED SO I WAS HAPPY. NOW THIS PAST JULY 4TH 2019 MY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS HAVE RETURNED. MY CAR HAS 48,000 ONLY AND NOT EVEN THE DODGE EXTENDED WARRANTY (WHICH I WANTED TO NOW PURCHASE) DO NOT COVER 2013 MODELS. THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES TO ME. THEY KNOW THEY SOLD ME A LEMON AND ONE THAT IS NOT SAFE. I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW CAR AND HAVE NOW LEARNED THAT LEMONS ARE BOUGHT AND SOLD BACK TO THE PUBLIC. I WILL NEVER BUY OR SPEAK WELL ABOUT CHRYSLER AGAIN. YOU ARE A FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I WANTED A HONDA ORIGINALLY BUT WAS TALKED OUT OF IT BY NEIGHBORS WHO WORK FOR CHRYSLER. WIPERS HAVE TURNED AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND AM UNABLE TO CHANGE THE SPEED OF THE WIPERS. IT STARTED WITH THEM TURNING ON WHEN THE LEFT BLINKER WAS ACTIVATED, BUT THEY WOULD SHUT OFF WHEN THE BLINKER DID. THEY ARE NOW TURNING ON EVERY TIME THE CAR IS STARTED AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. THEY WASHER SPRAYER DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE EITHER. THIS IS VERY DISTRACTING WHEN TRYING TO DRIVE UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS BECAUSE THE WIPERS KEEP MOVING IN FRONT OF YOU AND THEY SCREECH HORRIBLY SINCE THE WINDSHIELD IS DRY AND THE WASHER FLUID NO LONGER WORKS. THIS IS ALSO VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE SPEED OF THE WIPERS TO KEEP UP WITH THE HEAVINESS OF THE RAIN. I HAVE FOUND THROUGH MANY FORUMS THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE MAKE AND MODEL.
AGAIN HERE I AM WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND MY CAR IS BUCKING AND UNSAFE!!! I WILL BRING IT IN TOMORROW BUT I BOUGHT A TOOL THAT READS CODES HERE ARE THE CODES P0352 ERROR IGNITION COIL B PRIMARY/ SECONDARY CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. AND CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. YOU JUST PICKED UP THE CAR FOR SAME THING ON JUNE 10!!!!! LESS THAN 10 DAYS AND IT IS ACTING UP AGAIN. DO YOU WANT ME TO GET INTO A BAD ACCIDENT. BECAUSE I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE MY CAR. THIS IS ABOUT 6TH TIME IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS FOR SAME ISSUES.
THE WIRING CABLE THAT IS INSIDE THE WIPER CONTROL ARM TO THE LEFT OF THE STEERING WHEEL THAT CONTROLS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAS CRACKED DUE TO THE FRAILE WIRES AND THE CONTINUED ACTIONS OF USING THE WIPERS. THE WIPERS STAY ON AT A SLOW SPEED ALL OF THE TIME. UNABLE TO CONTROL THE FUNCTION. WEARS OUT HW MOTOR FOR THE ARMS / WIPERS, AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE CAR. WHEN CAR IS STARTED, THE ARMS ROTATE NON STOP/ CANNOT FIND A REPLACEMENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. MY MECHANIC SAID HE CAN MAKE REPAIRS IF THERE WAS REPLACEMENT PARTS. I DON'T WANT TO DIE DRIVING THIS CAR. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO AVOID CAR CRASHED UP TO NOW. I NEED THE CAR TO GET TO WORK EVERY DAY.THE TRADE IN VALUE

DODGE DARTS OF THIS MODEL YEAR INCLUDING MINE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TURBOCHARGER. PROBLEMS WITHIN THE SETUP CREATE A "TURBO UNDERBOOST" CONDITION, WHICH PROMPTS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND THROWS THE CAR INTO LIMP MODE. THIS IS OFTEN ACCOMPANIED BY A LACK OF POWER FROM THE ENGINE AND A ROUGH IDLE, OR STALLING AT IDLE. IN MY CASE IT HAPPENED WHILE I LEAVING A CITY, AND I DID NOT HAVE THE POWER TO ACCELERATE TO HIGHWAY SPEED. AFTER PULLING OVER AND RE-STARTING THE CAR, THIS ISSUE IS TEMPORARILY RESOLVED. THIS IS SUCH AN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL YEAR THAT THERE IS A NORTH AMERICA WIDE BACK-ORDER ON THE NEW-TURBO WITH THIS ISSUE CORRECTED. FOR MANY LIKE ME, THIS EXPENSE IS OUT-POCKET OR FOR A LUCKY FEW, STILL COVERED BY FACTORY WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THAT THE FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY OF THIS ISSUE WARRANTS A RECALL AND PROPER FIX IF THE TURBOCHARGER SETUP. THE ISSUE IS CORRECTED ON 2014+ MODEL YEARS, WHICH IS AN INDICATION THAT FCA WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE.
CAR WILL SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN TURN ITSELF OFF WHEN COASTING OR SWITCHING GEARS WITH MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLE.
THE BATTERY LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLICKERING ON AND OFF, AND THE VEHICLE STARTED IDLING AND DECREASING IN SPEED FOR NO REASON. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE IT DID NOT WANT TO DO SO, AND AGAIN THE LIGHTS AND POWER STARTED FLICKERING TURNING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. UPON PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, AT WHICH TRYING TO RESTART, THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OVER ONLY CLICKING NOISES. INSTEAD STILL WHAT SEEMED LIKE A SURGING OF POWER WITH ALL RANDOM LIGHTS FLICKERING AND STEREO TURNING ON AND OFF. THIS ISSUE HAD NOT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE BUT NOW TWICE, AND I AM CURRENTLY LEFT CAR LESS AS THE ISSUE CANNOT BE FIXED OR FOUND. A TUNE UP WAS DONE ON MY CAR, WIRES REPLACED, THE BATTERY REPLACED TWICE, AND A MODULE REPLACED DUE TO THE FAN FOR AIR CONDITIONING INTERMITTENTLY TURNING OFF AND ON ON IT'S OWN FOR NO RHYME OR REASON. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR ALL STATED ABOVE REPLACEMENTS. HOWEVER, I HAVE KEPT THEM IN MY CAR RECENTLY DUE TO HAVE TO REPLACE MULTIPLE PARTS WITHIN ONLY A COUPLE MONTHS OF THE PART BEING REPLACED. NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS TAKING PLACE, AND I AM CERTAINLY TIRED OF PAYING FOR PARTS TO REPLACE THE PROBLEM WHEN THEY HAVE NOT HELPED IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. IT SEEMS TO ME IT IS MORE OF A MANUFACTURING ISSUE THAN A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. MORE OVER THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE OCCURRED I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND COULD'VE BEEN SEVERELY INJURED DUE TO CARS DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS AND NOT PAYING ATTENTION. THIS ISSUE IS REALLY DANGEROUS AND COULD BE LIFE THREATENING IF NOT HANDLED APPROPRIATELY. I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST SOMEONE LOOKING INTO THESE FAULTS BEFORE IT COSTS A LIFE.

TRANSMISSION HAS STOPPED WORKING CORRECTLY, TOOK IT TO BE LOOKED AT AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE TRANSMISSION DESPITE NEVER HAVING BEEN DAMAGED OR HITTING ANYTHING WITH THE CAT. ALSO TOLD TRANSMISSION MOUNT NEEDED REPLACING. CAR MAKES AWFUL NOISE WHEN DRIVING IN LOW GEARS ABS HAD TROUBLE SHIFTING, WHEN IN TRAFFIC SMS HAVING TOP GO DOWN SPEED AND THEN UP SPEED TEE CAR STUTTERS AND CLUNKS.

SINCE MARCH 2019 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ONE 3 TIMES. MY CAR HAS EITHER STALLED IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION AND/OR HAS A BUCKING SENSATION AND THEN CHECK ENGINE TURNS ON. I REVERSED VEHICLE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO THE STREET AND AS I WAS SHIFTING INTO 'DRIVE' THE VEHICLE WENT INTO NEUTRAL. SHIFTER MOVES AS NORMAL, VEHICLE REMAINS IN NEUTRAL. WITH THIS I AM UNABLE TO TURN VEHICLE OFF SINCE IT WILL NOT GO INTO 'PARK.' DEALERSHIPS VERY UNHELPFUL SAYING THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND THERE WILL BE A CHARGE FOR THEM TO EVEN LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH CHRYSLER EVER AGAIN. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES ATTEMPTING TO SECURE VEHICLE, ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED AND CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE HAD AN ISSUE AND A REPLACEMENT WOULD BE ORDERED UNDER OR EXTENDED WARRANTY. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CAR WAS UNDER RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE (V34) AND WHEN WE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE RECALL, THEY STILL INSISTED THAT WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR UNDER OUR WARRANTY AND THEN FILE A CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT. WE WERE TOLD THE PART BEING USED FOR REPAIR WAS NOT AN UPGRADE IN RESPONSE TO THE RECALL, BUT JUST A STANDARD CABLE REPLACEMENT. WE WERE INFORMED THAT WE EITHER PAY FOR THE PART OR PARK THE CAR UNTIL THE RECALL WAS RESOLVED. WHEN ASKED ABOUT A LOANER OR RENTAL, THE RESPONSE WAS NO LOANER WOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE AND A RENTAL WAS ALLOWED FOR A PERIOD OF 5 DAYS ONLY WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. WE WERE ALSO INFORMED THAT THE RECALL COULD TAKE WEEKS OR MONTHS TO RESOLVE. SO OUR CHOICE IS TO EITHER PAY TO HAVE A KNOWN BAD PART INSTALLED OR PARK THE CAR FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD. WE THEN CONTACTED FCA RECALL ASSISTANCE AND MET THE SAME RESULT. PAY FOR THE PART AND THEN RETURN THE CAR ONCE AGAIN AFTER THE RECALL WAS RESOLVED, OR PARK THE CAR. THERE WOULD BE NO LOANER OR RENTAL REIMBURSEMENT CONSIDERED. SO, WE ARE FORCED TO PAY FOR A REPAIR THAT WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE AND SEND MY WIFE BACK OUT ONTO THE STREETS WITH A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE THAT MAY RESULT IN HARM OR WORSE. THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING ON THE TRANSMISSION END OF THE SHIFTER CABLE WHICH CAN DETERIORATE AND BECOME DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THIS CONDITION CAN RESULT IN THE INABILITY OF THE DRIVER TO ACTUALLY SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION, EVEN THOUGH THE DRIVER MAY MOVE THE SHIFTER HANDLE.

THERE WAS NO LOANER VEHICLE OPTION PROVIDED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
