GAS TANK FILLER NECK. A VEHICLE RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR LEAKING GAS WHEN FUELING. DEALER CHECKED AND STATED CAR WAS FINE AND NOT EFFECTED. SINCE I HAVE FILLED VEHICLE (3) TIMES AND (2) OF THOSE TIME GAS HAS COME OUT OF THE FILLER NECK WITH SO MUCH FORCE IT SPLASHED ALL OVER ME AND SURROUNDING EQUIPMENT. INCIDENT HAPPENED BEFORE INSPECTION AS WELL AND DODGE WAS TOLD ABOUT IT AT TIME OF SERVICE BUT THEY STILL STATED NO ISSUE EXISTED. THE TANK IS DEFECTIVE, AND APPEARS TO BE GETTING WORSE. POSSES A LARGE THREAT OF IGNITION WHEN GAS AND GAS VAPOR SHOOTS ON THE PERSON PUMPING GAS. INSPECTION METHOD IS INADEQUATE AND NOT WORKING. ISSUE IS STILL PRESENT AND DODGE IS NOT FIXING THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH A ISSUE EXISTS. *TR
WHEN FUELING VEHICLE AFTER THE FUELING NOZZLE IS CUT OFF SEVERAL OUNCES OF FUEL SPILLS/SQUIRTS OUT FROM THE TANK. FAILURE BEGAN OCCURRING AROUND 40K MILES. USING DIFFERENT FUELING SITES STILL HAS SAME RESULT. STOPPING FUELING AS TANK NEARS FULL HAS SAME RESULTS. THIS WILL OCCUR EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS FUELED UNLESS FUELING IS STOPPED PRIOR TO TANK BECOMING CLOSE TO CAPACITY. RECALL E01 COMPLETED ON VEHICLE ON 7/15/2005 SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. HOWEVER, VEHICLE TESTED AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE/INDICATED AT THE TIME. THE SYMPTOMS MENTIONED ABOVE ARE THE EXACT SAME AS MENTIONED IN THE RECALL. NUMEROUS OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ARE LISTED WITH NHTSA. DEALER INDICATED THEY WOULD PERFORM TEST AGAIN FOR A FEE AND CONSULT MANUFACTURER REGARDING REPAIR COVERAGE. MY FEELING IS THIS IS A RESULT OF THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART INDICATED IN THE RECALL AND IT WAS JUST NOT DETECTED DURING INITIAL RECALL INSPECTION. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. CURRENTLY I ONLY FILL TANK TO ABOUT THREE QUARTERS FULL TO AVOID FUEL SPILLING/SQUIRTING OUT. DANGERS FROM THE FUEL INCLUDE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE OR FUEL CONTACTING SKIN/FACE/EYES. *TR
2005 DODGE DURANGO - FUEL SPURTS OUT OF TANK AT END OF FILLING NEARLY EVERY TIME. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE FUEL SPILLED FROM THE FUEL TANK AND ONTO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE LOCATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V034000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY: FILLER PIPE AND CAP). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHEN REFUELING, IT CAUSES THE PUMP TO STOP SENDING FUEL AND THEN THE FUEL GUSHES OUT ALL OVER THE VEHICLE, NOZZLE, AND GROUND. MINE IS MUCH WORSE THAN THIS EXAMPLE: HTTP://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=B0-_9WG6DW4 I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP IN RICHMOND, KY AND THEY SAID MY VIN DID NOT FALL IN THEIR TSB/RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAME SYMPTOM. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LITE CAME ON AND THE CODE WAS LARGE LEAK LOOSE GAS CAP SO I REPLACED IT AND IT WORKED FOR TWO WEEKS AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SINCE THEN ITS BEEN A PROBLEM. I SEE THEY HAD A RECALL ON DODGE DURANGOS THAT WERE MADE IN 3/1/04 TO 11/16/04 FOR FILLER PIPE AND CAP I PURCHASED MY DODGE DURANGO ON 12/2004 IT WAS MADE IN AUG OR SEPT OF 2004. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST BUT I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT THE DODGE RECALL WAS HAVING. THANK YOU HOPE YOU CAN HELP. *TR
WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE, AFTER THE PUMP HAS SHUT OFF, FUEL WILL SHOOT OUT OF THE FUEL FILL HOLE. THIS HAS DONE THIS REPEATEDLY, AND IS TO THE POINT WHERE IT DOES IT EVERYTIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED UP. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, FUEL IS ALL OVER THE GROUND, SHOES, PANTS AND ANYTHING ELSE NEAR THE FUEL CAP. THIS IS BEGINNING TO CONCERN ME AS THIS IS AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD. RECALLS FOR THE 2005 DODGE DURANGO WERE RESEARCHED AND OUR PARTICULAR VIN# IS NOT UNDER THE RECALL LIST. NO REPAIRS WERE ATTEMPTED. DATE LISTED BELOW IS THE LAST TIME THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED. *TR
LOSS OF POWER WHEN GETTING ON FREEWAY. ENGINE CHUGS, ROUGH IDLE, NO POWER TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CHECKED CODES AND FOUND P0308 AND P2099. CHANGED ALL 8 SPARK PLUGS, PLUGS 4, 6, 8, 3, 5, AND 7 SHOW SINGS OF SETTING IN WATER. FOUND OUT DODGE HAS TWO SERVICE BULLETINS TO KEEP THIS FROM OCCURRING, SB 18-006-05 REV A AND 18-024-06. DO WE NEED CRASHES ON THE FREEWAY BEFORE WE CAN FORCE DODGE TO FIX THIS ON ALL 2004 AND 2005 DODGE DURANGO WITH THE 4.7 L ENGINE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. WHEN THE CONTACT ADDED FUEL IN THE TANK THE GASOLINE CAME BACK OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NHTSA RECALL NUMBERS 05V034000 AND 09V003000 ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATED FOR HER VIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. THE FUEL TANK FILLER TUBE INLET CHECK VALVE DOES NOT FULLY CLOSE AT THE END OF REFUELING. THIS ALLOWS FUEL TO ESCAPE FROM THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE FILLER NECK AT THE END OF REFUELING. HER VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM RECALL NUMBER 09V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
GASOLINE GUSHES OUT OF GAS TANK UPON REFUELING. DODGE DURANGO 2005. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS REFUELED. GAS COVERS THE REAR QUARTER PANEL AND UNDER SURFACES OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE GAS STATION GROUND AND EQUIPMENT (AND ANYONE STANDING NEAR THE REFUELING AREA). CHRYSLER REFUSES TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE IN THE RECALL TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE WAS REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK VALVE DID NOT CLOSE AND THE GASOLINE OVERFLOWED. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE CALLED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. THE CONTACT FILED A CLAIM WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000. MY 2005 DODGE DURANGO'S TANK OVERFLOWS WHEN REFUELING. I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE AND AM WAITING ON A RESPONSE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND I KNOW THEIR IS RECALL BUT MY VIN DOESN'T SEEM TO BE INCLUDED. *TR
UPON FILLING UP AT A GAS STATION. MY 2005 DODGE DURANGO SLT WILL SPIT FUEL BACK APPROX 5 SECS AFTER CLICKING OFF AT THE PUMP. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT JAN 2005, 1 MONTH OUTSIDE OF THE ORGINAL RECALL WINDOW AND SUBSEQUENT NEW WINDOW. I HAVE CHECKED THE WWW AND IT SEEMS ALOT OF OWNERS HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE ORIGINAL CLEAN/ DIRTY POINT PROVIDED BY THE TEIR 1 SUPPLIER WAS INCORRECT AND INFACT DID NOT CAPTURE ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A HUGE SAFTEY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE CHANGED TO ENCOMPASS ALL 2005 DURANGOS AS IT IT OBVIOUS THAT THE CURRENT CLEAN POINT WAS INEFFECTIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL SPILLED OUT WHENEVER HE ATTEMPTED TO FILL THE TANK. HE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 09V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY) AND HE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR COSTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK FILLER TUBE INLET CHECK VALVE WAS INADEQUATE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 98,000.
ANYTIME I FUEL, MY J2005 DURANGO SPITS A LOT GASOLINE OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW FAST I FUEL OR WHETHER OR NOT I TOP OFF THE TANK. I CALLED DODGE AND WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER/DODGE WILL NOT INCLUDE MY 2005 DURANGO VEHICLE IN THE FUEL TANK RECALL AS NOTED IN YOUR CAMPAIGN NUMBER 09V003000 OR 05V3400, EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE SAME ISSUE THE RECALLS WERE TO FIX. I WAS TOLD MY MILEAGE WAS TO HIGH TO BE INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS IN FEB OF 09 & NOW IT IS EVERY TIME I FUEL. *TR
VEHICLE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS WHEN GAS IS PUMPED UNTIL GAS PUMP AUTOSTOPS. A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL SPILLS OUT IN 1-5 SECONDS AFTER. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN OVER TWO YEARS NOW. DEALER SEEMS TO NOT WANT TO FIX. RECALLS ARE CONVENIENTLY NOT FOR THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION. SEEMS SMALL AMOUNT OF VIN QUALIFY. *TR
2005 DODGE DURANGO SLT/HEMI. WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, THE PUMP HANDLE WILL STOP, THEN THE TANK BURPS AND GASOLINE BLOWS OUT OF THE TANK THROUGH THE FILLER NECK. YOUR WEBSITE SHOWS A RECALL FOR THIS, HOWEVER DODGE AND THE DEALERSHIPS SAY IT IS NOT FOR MY VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPAIRED YET DUE TO THE COST. I HAVE BEEN COVERED IN GASOLINE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO MY VEHICLE AS WELL. THE GAS TANK RECALLS ARE EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON W/ MY VEHICLE. I OWN A 2005 DODGE DURANGO LIMITED. RECENTLY, EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE GAS TANK, THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF WHEN THE TANK IS FULL, BUT IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER, A GREAT DEAL OF GASOLINE ERUPTS FROM THE FILLER TUBE OF THE DURANGO. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME I FILL THE VEHICLE AND WITH DIFFERENT GAS PUMPS. RESEARCH REVEALS THAT CHRYSLER ACTUALLY ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM FOR A LIMITED NUMBER OF VIN'S FOR 2005 DODGE DURANGO'S, BUT SINCE MY DURANGO'S VIN DOES NOT MATCH THE RECALL, CHRYSLER WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AS A SAFETY ISSUE, POTENTIALLY REQUIRING ME TO PAY A $700 REPAIR BILL. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED, BUT CHRYSLER IS FAILING TO RECOGNIZE THAT IT'S INITIAL RECALL SHOULD BE BROADENED TO COVER ALL DODGE DURANGOS. *TR
FUEL SPURTS OUT OF THE GAS TANK FILLER OPENING WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK. ABOUT 1-2 CUPS OF GAS COMES BACK OUT AFTER THE FILLER NOZZLE SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY. IT HAPPENS APPROXIMATELY 2 OUT OF 3 TIMES FILLING THE TANK. WHEN THE FUEL COMES OUT OF THE FILLER NECK IT HAS GOTTEN ONTO ME AND MY CLOTHES AND OF COURSE IT ENDS UP ON THE GROUND AT THE FILLING STATION. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM, THEY CONFIRMED THERE IS EXCESSIVE PRESSURE WHEN FILLING THE TANK. THE SOLUTION THEY PROPOSED IS TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK AND FILLER. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS REPAIR COMPLETED YET. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. SHE NOTICED THAT THE HEAD AND TAIL LIGHTS WERE TURNING ON AND OFF ON THEIR OWN AND THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE HAD A MILDEW ODOR. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE ODOR WAS IN A TUBE THAT WAS LOCATED ON THE SUN ROOF. THE DEALER STATED THE WATER DRAINED FROM THE TUBE INTO THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD CLEAN THE TUBE BUT THEY WOULD NOT CLEAN THE MILDEW. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO WRITE A LETTER TO THE MANUFACTURER. SHE STATED THAT THE MANUAL DOES NOT ADVISE THE OWNER ABOUT THE TUBE LOCATED ON THE SUN ROOF; THEREFORE, THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENTIRE COST OF REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 79,885. THE DRAIN TUBES THAT WERE COMING FROM THE SUNROOF WERE CLOGGED. UPDATED 01/12/10. UPDATED 03/18/10 *BF
I HAVE A 2005 DODGE DURANGO THAT SPEWS GAS VIOLENTLY FROM THE GAS TANK ONCE YOU FILL IT UP. THIS IS A KNOW RECALL FROM DODGE BUT MY VIN # WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS RECENTLY STARTED HAPPENING WITH MY DODGE AND HAS HAPPENED THE LAST 5 TIMES WE PURCHASED GAS. THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE AND PUTS MY FAMILY AND OTHERS IN LIFE IN JEOPARDY. *TR

ACCORDING TO NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V003000, THIS PROBLEM WAS SOLVED ON ALL VEHICLES MANUFACTURED AFTER 11/30/04 AND THE COMPLAINT CLOSED. IT IS TIME TO REVISIT THIS PROBLEM, AS INDICATED ABOVE, MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER THAT DATE. I AND FUEL STATION ATTENDANTS ARE "DODGING'" THE VIOLENT ERUPTION OF FUEL FROM THE FILLER NECK. SEEMS TO ME A NEW RECALL IS NECESSARY. *TW
WHEN PUTTING GAS INTO THE TANK OF MY VEHICLE, IT SPITS GAS BACK OUT. AT THE SAME TIME, WE ARE GETTING SURGES IN THE SPEED OF THE ENGINE, SEEMS TO BE MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN SPEEDING UP FROM LOW RPM. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF INSTANCES OF THIS SAME PROBLEM, BUT MY DEALER SAYS NO RECALL PERTAINING TO THIS MATTER. THEY ARE REPLACING THE GAS TANK AT NO CHARGE, BUT SAY THAT I MUST PAY FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND A REPLACEMENT SENSOR FOR THE SURGING. THEY CLAIM THAT NEITHER PROBLEM IS A RECALL, NOR COVERED IN MY EXPENSIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I AM BEING CHARGED CLOSE TO $300, INCLUDING RENTAL CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

I HAVE A 2005 DODGE DURANGO VIN# [XXX] . IT HAS 71,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, IT BLOWS THE GAS BACK OUT THE FILLER NECK EVERY TIME I CLOSE THE PUMP NOZZLE TO STOP FILLING THE TANK. EVERYTIME I STOP PUMPING GAS IT BLOWS APPROXIMATELY A HALF GALLON OF GAS ALL OVER ME, THE GROUND, GAS PUMP, VEHICLE, AND WHATEVER ELSE IS AROUND. THIS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CATCH FIRE AND BURN DOWN THE GAS STATION, VEHICLE, AND INNOCENT BY-STANDERS ETC. IT ALSO HAS THE POTENTIAL TO GET INTO THE WATER THROUGH RUN OFF. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A DODGE DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A FAULTY CHECK VALVE IN THE FILLER NECK AND THAT THE WHOLE GAS TANK HAD TO BE CHANGED. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON SOME DURANGOS FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM BUT, THE RECALL DID NOT COVER MY VIN#. I DON'T HAVE THE $650 TO FIX IT. I AM HOPEFUL THAT THE RECALL WOULD BE EXPANDED TO COVER MY VEHICLE AND ALL THE OTHER I FOUND ON THE INTERNET. THOSE THAT ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND ARE NOT COVER UNDER THE RECALL ARE JUST AS DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLES THAT ARE COVERED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. HE STATED WHILE FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE FUEL, IT WOULD SPEW BACK OUT SPILLING ALL OVER THE CONTACT. THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND HE HAD NOT TAKEN IT FOR REPAIRS, TO DATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT ACCEPTED.
THERE IS NO PARTICULAR EVENT LEADING UP TO THE FOLLOWING FAILURE--IT HAPPENED AND THEN NEVER STOPPED HAPPENING. EVERY TIME MY 2005 DODGE DURANGO IS REFUELED, THE GASOLINE BACKWASHES OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE. A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FUEL GUSHES OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE REQUIRING THAT I DODGE THE FOUNTAIN OF FUEL. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. MY RESEARCH REVEALED THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN PLACED ON THIS MODEL FOR THE SAME SYMPTOMS, BUT DODGE CLAIMS THAT MY VIN ISN'T WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THEY SUGGESTED I TAKE IT TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, WHICH COST $70. THE DIAGNOSIS IS THAT THE CHARCOAL EVAP CANISTER IS FILLED WITH "LIQUID" CAUSED BY OVERFILLING THE TANK AND DODGE REFUSES TO COVER THE REPAIR. I CONTEND THAT THE EVAP ISSUE IS CAUSED BY THE VERY PROBLEM OF THE FUEL BACKWASH. MY VISIT TO DODGEFORUM.COM REVEALED THAT THE FUEL OVERFLOW IS A COMMON PROBLEM. GIVEN THE EXISTING RECALL, IT'S OBVIOUS THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT DODGE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO CORRECT. *TR

I HAVE HAD MY CAR STALL/DIE ON ME NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. I HAVE HAD THE EGR VALVE REPLACED, THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTERS CHANGED AND THEY DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. STARTING ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO EVERY TIME I FILLED MY GAS TANK A LARGE VOLUME OF GAS WOULD SPLASH OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AS THE TANK APPEARED TO BE APPROACHING FULL. IN ADDITION, THE "GASCAP" LIGHT WOULD CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATE. THERE APPEARS TO BE AN UNBELIEVABLE FIRE HAZARD WITH THIS SITUATION. I CALLED CHRYSLER/DODGE ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THESE EVENTS BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. DODGE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO WORK WITH ME ON THE EXPENSE BUT WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE WHOLE THING IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR MAINTENANCE AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE ENTIRE GAS TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THEY ARE ON BACKORDER BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM EXISTING ON SO MANY VEHICLES. IN ADDITION, THE COST ESTIMATE IS $854.45 APPARENTLY DODGE/CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT ARE UNWILLING TO FIX IT. *TR
