THE DURANGO SWITCHES INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE ON ITS OWN. SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET OUT OF THE CAR USE YOUR KEY FOB TO LOCK THE CAR AND YOU CAN HEAR IT ENGAGE IN TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. IT ALSO DOES THIS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. IT IS REALLY BAD WHEN IT SWITCHES INTO 4 LO. I HAVE READ SO MUCH ABOUT SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THESE ISSUES, YET NOTHING IS BEING DONE. IT IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED! THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF FOR 3-5 MONTHS NOW AND IT IS JUST GETTING WORSE.
WHEN I FILL THE GAS TANK UP GAS COMES BACK OUT THE GAS TANK AND GOES ON THE GROUND AND GETS ON THE VEHICLE AND ON CLOTHING. I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS GAS STATIONS AND IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND THERE IS NOT, BUT THEY HAVE RECALLS ON THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL AS MINE. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND HEALTH ISSUE BECAUSE THE GAS COMES IN CONTACT WITH YOUR SKIN AND RISK OF FIRE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS WHEN THE GAS GOES ON THE GROUND.

I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE , AT ABOUT 65 MPH, WHEN IT SUDDENLY LOCKED. IT A 4 WHEEL DRIVE. I HAD THE 4 WHEEL SERVICE LIGHT BLINK AND THE IT SUDDENLY LOCKED AND COULDNT SHIFT GEARS. I HAD TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED.
MORE THAN A GALLON OF FUEL SPILLS OUT IF YOU FILL UP THE GAS TANK
MY CAR REPEATEDLY CUTS OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING. I NOTICED THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME MODEL AS I HAVE WHICH A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. I DID MY RESEARCH AND IT WAS IDENTIFIED BY DODGE AS A LOW MANEUVER ISSUE. ONE INCIDENT THAT HAPPENS A FEW DAYS AGO WAS THAT MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON A CURVE WHILE MERGING ON THE HIGHWAY. I AM VERY LUCK THAT IT WAS A CAR BEHIND ME AND THEY WERE NOT GOING FAST. MY CAR SHUT OFF AND I LOSE CONTROL OF THE STEERING BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF POWER. I HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN TRY TO START THE VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS SINCE 2006.

I TURNED LEFT SHARPLY INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLED ON ME UPON DOING THIS. I LOST ALL ENGINE POWER, STEERING AND BRAKE CONTROL. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AND PARK THE VEHICLE. FOR THE PREVIOUS 3 WEEKS OR SO THE VEHICLE HAS SPUTTERED AND BEEN SLUGGISH WHEN TURNING SHARPLY INTO PARKING SPOTS OR AROUND SHARP CORNERS BUT HAS NEVER STALLED. 8/19/15 WAS THE FIRST INCIDENT OF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLING.
THE CAR DINT SHOW ANY SING OF HAVING PROBLEM STARING OR STALLING OR NOTHING THE ENGINE JUST MADE A BIG NOISE LIKE SOMETHING BLEW UP AND EVERYTHING SHUT OFF. I AM GLAD I DINT HAD MY KIDS WITH AT THE TIME CUZ I WAS DRIVING ALL DAY AND THE TRUCK WAS FINE IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE HOW IT JUST BLEW UP OUT OF NOWHERE AND FOR ONLY HAVING 105 MILES ON IT ITS TOO SOON WHEN EVERYTHING WAS DONE IN TIME.
TAJATA RECALL. IT HAS BEEN THREE MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL NOTICE HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO US, AND WE ARE STILL WAITING TO USE OUR VEHICLE UNTIL THIS REPAIR IS MADE.
IT IS SWITCHING BETWEEN AWD 4X4 LO AND HIGH ON ITS OWN. BACKING UP IT FELT LIKE A SPRING PROPELLING ME FORWARD. FEARING THAT I COULD LOSE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY. MECHANIC IS LOOKING INTO LOWER THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE ISSUE BUT ONLINE I FOUND A FORUM UNDER TOPIX AND THE ISSUE WAS VERY CLEARLY A $200 PART THAT CAN BE PURCHASED AND INSTALLED IN UNDER AN HOUR OF LABOR. ITS THE TRANSFER CASE SWITCH WHICH HAS ALL THE SYMPTOMS MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING.
FOR MANY MONTHS DODGE HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY SPONTANEOUSLY. (I CALLED THEM THEN WHEN I FIRST HEARD ABOUT THE PROBLEM ON THE NEWS) I FINALLY RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AND IT ADVISED ME OF THE POTENTIAL PROBLEM BUT THAT THEY WILL NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT FOR AN INDEFINITE AMOUNT OF TIME. I HAVE HEARD REPORTS THAT IT COULD BE 2 YEARS BEFORE IT MAY BE FIXED. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A RIDICULOUS LENGTH OF TIME TO SECURE THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. IS IT POSSIBLE TO EXPEDITE THIS REPAIR OR TO MAKE MY CAR A PART OF THE NEW DECISION AGAINST CHRYSLER TO BUY BACK THE CAR? THERE WASN'T A SPECIFIC INCIDENT THAT PROMPTED MY COMPLAINT. THANK YOU. *TR

MY DURANGO HAS STARTED TO ENGAGE INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE ON ITS OWN. IT DOES THIS WHEN PARKED AND WHEN DRIVING. IT NOW IS STUCK IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND CANNOT DRIVE ON THE PAVEMENT. THIS SEEMS TO ME TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY DODGE.
MY DURANGO HAS STARTED TO SWITCH TO 4WHEEL DRIVE ON IT'S OWN WHILE I'M DRIVING AND ESPECIALLY WHILE TURNING. IT MAKES STEERING AND MANEUVERING THE VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.

I PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AND COULD FEEL THAT IT HAD SHIFTED INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE BY ITSELF. THE DASH WARNING LIGHT DID NOT COME ON BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY ON THE DRY PAVEMENT. AFTER PARKING AND SHUTTING DOWN THE VEHICLE I COULD HEAR THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR SHIFT THE TRANSFER CASE WITH NO KEY IN THE VEHICLE. NOW I HEAR THE TRANSFER CASE SWITCHING MODES AFTER THE VEHICLE IS SHUT DOWN, AND IT HAS SHIFTED TO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AT LEAST TWO MORE TIMES ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING.

THE VEHICLE HAS BEGUN TO SWITCH ITSELF INTO 4WD WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, USUALLY DURING OR SHORTLY AFTER AN EXTENDED TURN SUCH AS A RAMP. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON BUT I BELIEVE BASED ON THE WAY IT DRIVES THAT IT MUST BE IN 4LO. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS IN 4WD IT WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE 4WD SWITCH AND SO FAR IT HAS TAKEN TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF TO DISENGAGE THE 4WD.THE SVC 4WD LIGHT HAS COME ON 3-4 TIMES, BUT NOT IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE OTHER ISSUE, AND NOT FOR MORE THAN 2 MINUTES AT A TIME.
HUMBLE ISD WE HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE A DODGE DURANGO SERVICED AT TEXAN DODGE HERE IN HUMBLE, TX FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS. WE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER TO HAVE THIS WORK DONE, & THE DEALER HERE HAS FAILED MISERABLY TO SERVICE THE RECALL. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH AMANDA ON 7/30 & A RICHARD ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. WHILE DRIVING, THE 4X4 SYSTEM SHIFTED INTO 4WD LO NEARLY CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL. WHEN PARKED AND NOT RUNNING VEHICLE WAS HEARD MAKING A CLICKING SOUND NEAR THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE, THE SOUND WAS THE SAME AS WHEN THE VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO 4WD MODE. SAME SOUND, SHIFTING INTO 4WD MODE WAS REPEATED WHEN PRESSING UNLOCK ON THE KEY FOB WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, NOT RUNNING, WITHOUT EVEN THE KEY IN IGNITION.... I AM HIGHLY CONCERNED THAT THE DEFECT COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS INJURY IF THE 4WD SYSTEM DECIDES TO ENGAGE AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME...UPDATED 09/11/15 *BF UPDATED 10/13/15*JS

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

FOUR LOW LIGHT BLINKS. SERVICE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT COMES ON. WILL JUST XOMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. HAS ALSO SHUT OFF WHILE STOPPING TO TURN. HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL VEHICLE STOPS PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART IT. HAPPENS AT LEAST ONCE EVERY TIME I ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IT. HIGJLY UNSAFE. GOGGLED PROBLEM AND TONS OF PEOPLE WITH SAME PROBLEM. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS. THIS IS INSANE AND SOMETHING NEEDS DONE!!!

THE VEHICLE TRANSFER CASE CHANGES FROM AWD TO 4HI AND 4LO WITHOUT THE SWITCH BEING MOVED. THIS HAS MOST OFTEN HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS SUCH AS WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, BUT WHEN SWITCHING TO 4LO CAUSES DIFFICULTY STEERING DUE TO THE FRONT WHEELS BEING LOCKED TOGETHER. TWICE I HAVE COME CLOSE TO HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE PARKING DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO HEARD THE TRANSFER CASE SWITCHING BETWEEN MODES WITH THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING AT HIGHER SPEEDS.

AC/HEATER BLOWER RESISTOR AND HARNESS BURN OUT LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH NO HEATER OR COOL AIR. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THIS NOW REPLACED ONCE BY THE DEALERSHIP, ONCE BY MY BROTHER WHO IS A MECHANIC THAT TEACHERS AT UNOH IN OHIO, AND THE LAST COUPLE OF TIME BY MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF.
