I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IN MY EXPEDITION AND I WENT TO DISINGAGE MY CRUISE CONTROL AND MY ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF IT'S BEEN 4 WEEKS NOW AND I CAN'T GET ANYONE TO TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG. MY VEHICLE IS A NO CRANK NO START NOW
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 30MPH AND SUDDENLY MY ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE IT THREW A ROD. MY HUSBAND LOOKED AT IT AND FOUND A SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE MOTOR. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, A LOUD POPPING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE ALONG WITH THE ODOR OF FUEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE COIL ON PLUG TO THE ENGINE WAS OUT OF POSITION AND A SPARK PLUG HAD POPPED OUT OF THE ENGINE HEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
ON MAY FIRST OF 2014 MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I ASSUMED I NEEDED OIL, SO I WENT TO THE ADVANCED AUTO STORE AND PURCHASED SOME OIL. I PUT THE OIL IN AND BEGAN TO PROCEED HOME. I WAS DRIVING AND THE OIL LIGHT WAS SHOWING AS HOT. THE CAR WOULD NOT GIVE ENOUGH POWER FOR ME TO DRIVE, IT BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE ANYMORE. IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THIS CAR'S MAKE AND MODEL IS A RECALL CAR. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO. *TR
DRIVING TO TOWN MOTOR BACKFIRED AND STALLED, SPEED WAS ABOUT 5 MPH. NO POWER STEERING AT THE TIME. LUCKY I WAS PULLING UP TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT. MECHANIC SAID #4 SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK DAMAGING COIL PACK AND FUEL INJECTOR. JUST BOUGHT VEHICLE NOT TO LONG AGO AND NOW HAVE TO SPEND A SMALL FORTUNE TO REPAIR A CLEAR DESIGN FLAW BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO RECALL UNTIL THEY ARE REQUIRED TO. SO MUCH FOR MADE IN USA QUALITY. NOW I JUST HOPE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT CATCH FIRE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY! *TR
I DROVE THE ABOUT 3 MILES, AND PARKED THE TRUCK, THEN THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE IN FRONT OF THE WAL-MART. IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR BEFORE WE GOT NOTIFIED THAT THE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND A EXPLOSION CAME FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AREA. 911 WAS CALLED AND THE FIRED DEPT CAME AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE, BUT STATED WE NEED TO CONTACT THE MAUFACTOR, AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER AS WELL (PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY - [XXX]" INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION WILL NOT STAY IN PARK. AND WHEN IT IS IN PARK AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES IT WILL JUST GO BACKWARDS. MY FORD HAS ALREADY HIT A PARKED VEHICLE. I WAS WARMING HER UP. AS I WAS SLOWING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN THE ENGINE MADE AN EXTREMELY LOUD NOISE. AFTER INVESTIGATING WE FOUND A SPARK PLUG LOOSE UNDER THE HOOD. THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD AND STRIPPED OUT THE THREADS. AFTER LOOKING THIS UP ON THE INTERNET I FOUND IT HAPPENS OFTEN BUT THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALLS. MY EXPEDITION HAS A TRITON 5.4 ENGINE. *TR
WE ARE THE LIEN HOLDER ON A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. OUT CUSTOMER SAID THAT HIS VEHICLE EXPLODED BESIDE HIS MOBILE HOME AFTER SITTING THERE FOR 2 DAYS. THE MOBILE HOME RECEIVED BURN DAMAGES BUT WAS NOT A TOTAL LOSS. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND BURNED ALL OF THE CAR. OUR CUSTOMER SAID THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TWO MORE EXPLOSION AFTER THE FIRST ONE. ALL THE EXPLOSION WERE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE SHERIFF''S DEPARTMENT LISTED THE INCIDENT STATUS AS UNFOUNDED. NO ONE WAS INJURED. *TR

I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION UNTIL MAY 25, 2012. I HAD TAKEN MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER TO MY PARENT'S HOUSE AND WAS GOING TO GO INTO TOWN. I WAS ABOUT 50 FEET FROM THE STOP SIGN WHEN I SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD BANG AND MY VEHICLE STARTED SOUNDING LIKE A LAWNMOWER! I WAS NOT SURE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND WAS AFRAID IF I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT RESTART, YET I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE IT TO CONTINUE TO RUN BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO FURTHER DAMAGE THE MOTOR. LUCKILY, SINCE I WAS ONLY A BLOCK AWAY, I JUST DECIDED TO DRIVE IT RIGHT BACK TO MY PARENT'S HOUSE; WHERE I HAD TO HAVE AAA COME AND TOW IT BACK TO MY TOWN TO THE SHOP. COME TO FIND OUT, I BLEW THE #3 SPARK PLUG. I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS EVER HAPPENING; BUT I AM NOW. I DRIVE MY CHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL EVERY DAY IN THIS VEHICLE. NOW I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I AM AFRAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, AND I AM NOT IN A POSITION TO BUY A NEW VEHICLE. FORD SHOULD OWN UP TO THIS DESIGN FLAW IN THEIR MOTORS. *TR

I OWN A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION WITH A 5.4 LITER TRITON ENGINE WHICH EXPERIENCED A SPARK PLUG BLOW OUT. SO FAR, NHTSA HAS NOT REQUIRED FORD TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR A PROBLEM THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD WITH THE SAME TYPE OF ENGINE. FORD DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR A DEFECTIVE DESIGN OF THIS ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN FURTHER REPAIRED. WHEN THE KEY IS TAKEN OUT OF MY IGNITION, THE BLOWER MOTOR TO THE HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONING GOES TO FULL BLAST. I THEN HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY IN ORDER NOT TO DRAIN THE BATTERY. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN IT IS RAINING OUT. APPARENTLY THE WINDSHIELD LEAKS TO THE GEM BOX AND SHORTS IT OUT. *TR
