The transmission is malfunctioning. The shifting in the gears has become rough with kick or clunk feeling. This happens when increasing speed and decreasing speed. The Transmission has even gotten stuck in 2nd, and 4th gears. Our safety was at risk because when the gears were stuck the vehicle would not increase in speed, in the flow if traffic. The transmission has been inspected by 3 Transmission Mechanic shops, and has been confirmed by all 3. There have not been warning signs or lights on the dashboard to alert us of the problem. This appears to be random and out of the blue. The truck is available for inspection upon request.
Interior A/c blower motor short. A/c stops and starts by itself with smell of wiring melting or burnt.
My vehicle will just shut off. No warning. No lights. It shuts off, I have to turn on my hazards, put it in park and restart the vehicle. It has shut off whether I am going forward/straight or turning, going 25 MPH - 40 MPH. it has shut off as I am turning and cars are coming down the street; at a school zone; under an under pass; one time we were on the freeway and it kept wanting to shut off but had to really press on the gas to keep it going and thankfully we made it to the service center. Sometimes it feels like the gas peddle is pushing my foot back. you press on the gas and nothing happens. Other times it seems to accelerate on its own. I have had this happen multiple times since we bought the vehicle in May of 2022., sometimes 4 or 5 times in a day. I have taken it to two different service places and neither could replicate the problem. One mechanic told me he thinks it could be the body control module. I take my niece and nephews to and from school and it certainly does not feel safe, but it is my only working vehicle and it is aggravating and I am getting tired and frustrated of this happening. PLEASE HELP.
Drivers side airbag did not deploy when the car was in an accident. The passenger side did even though there was no passenger. Both sensors went off.
A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH AND PULLEY SEPERATED A/C COMPRESSOR SEIZED UP SERPENTINE BELT GOT DAMAGED FROM THE SEIZE. TRUCK WOULD STALL AND LOSE POWER AT STOP LIGHTS AND INTERSECTIONS BECAUSE IT WAS SEIZING AND TAKING ENERGY FROM THE BATTERY AND TRUCK. WAS TOLD IT WAS A CAM SENSOR THE WHOLE TIME IT WAS THE A/C COMPRESSOR PULLEY AND CLUTH THAT DISCONNECTED AND FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING. SCARIEST THINNG EVER IN MY LIFE. AND THE FACT I CANT GET A A/C BYPASS PULLEY FOR THIS YEAR OF THIS TRUCK IM BASICALLY SCREWED BECAUSE ITS A MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC MY CHILDREN ARE IN REMOTE LEARNING FROM HOME FOR SCHOOL I CANT WORK BECAUSE OF THAT I CANT THERE FOR I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY A NEW A/C COMPRESSOR AND SERPENTINE BELT OR GET THEM INSTALLED. I ATTEMPTED TO ROLE MY WINDOW UP WHILE DRIVING AND IT STOPPED WORKING. THE WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN AND IS STUCK OPEN. THE MOTOR MAKES A CLICKING SOUND. WINDOW IS NOT OFF TRACK EITHER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING WITH THE PARK ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR AND ROLLED BACKWARDS CRASHING INTO A STEEL POST WITHOUT WARNING. THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOORS WERE AJAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE KEY FELL OUT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE OCCUPANT SEATED IN THE REAR JUMPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE BUT SUSTAINED NO INJURIES OR MEDICAL ATTENTION. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED NELSON FORD LOCATED AT 201 COMMONWEALTH BLVD W, MARTINSVILLE, VA 24112 BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 247,000.
FIRST INCIDENT IN MARCH 2019 FROM PARKED POSITION, PUT CAR IN DRIVE AND IT "RACED" OUT OF CONTROL, TRIED TO BRAKE AND FINALLY STOPPED THE CAR JUST SHORT OF JUMPING CURB ACROSS THE STREET. IN MAY 2019 WAS LEAVING A PARKING AREA AND CAR REPEATED SAME THING. TOOK LONGER TO STOP, BUT HAD THERE BEEN ANOTHER CAR OR PEDESTRIAN IN FRONT OF ME, COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS. WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, (JUNE 15), IF CAR IS IDLING EITHER AT LIGHT OR IN PARK, ENGINE WILL START RACING. TURN OFF CAR AND RESTART, IT WILL START AGAIN, BUT WITHOUT MY TOUCHING ACCELERATOR, WHEN CAR IS IN DRIVE WILL "CRUISE " AT 25 MPH. CAN EITHER BE STATIONERY IN PARK OR SITTING AT LIGHT WHEN CAR IN DRIVE. AM GETTING AFRAID TO DRIVE. HAVE ONLY HAD CAR SINCE MARCH 12, 2019 AND LAST INCIDENT WAS YESTERDAY JUNE 25, 2019.
FORD VEHICLE SHUTS OFF SPORADICALLY WITH MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY. THE BRAKES ALSO SEIZE UP TO THE POINT WHERE THEY OVER HEAT AND COULD CATCH FIRE. THE MOST RECENT EVENT HAPPENED MAY 15TH AFTER PICKING THE CAR UP FROM MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO TRY AND REPAIR WHAT FORD DEALERSHIPS HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR. IT SHUT OFF ON THE WAY HOME. MAY 16TH THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A OVER A YEAR. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS AND WAS RECENTLY AT AUTO NATION FORD IN UNION CITY GA FOR OVER A MONTH AWAITING A PART THAT NEVER SHOWED UP. I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP AND TOOK IT TO ANOTHER LOCAL SHOP THAT WAS ABLE TO SECURE THE PART AND REPLACE IT, BUT THAT STILL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SO FAR, I'VE SPENT UPWARDS OF $8000 IN THE SPAN OF A YEAR AND THE ISSUE STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVE. REPAIRS FROM BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS TO THE CALIPERS AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND EVEN A FULL 4X4 TRANSFER CASE ASYMBLEY SO FAR NONE OF THE REPAIRS HAS WORKED. IT HAS SHUT OFF IN THE PAST WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON THE EXPRESS WAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AREAS. THIS VEHICLE IS JUST UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND OTHER VIDEOS OF FORD OWNERS THAT ARE ALSO GOING THROUGH THIS ISSUE WITH THE SAME RESULTS. I HAVE VIDEO WHICH IS THE BEST VISUAL SINCE THERE ARE MULTIPLE WARNINGS THAT POP UP.
OK...I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK FOR 3 YEARS OR SO AND RECENTLY THE AC WENT OUT...I HAD EVERYTHING REPLACED WITH BRAND NEW PARTS...& THE AC STILL WON'T WORK...MACHINE SAYS THE FREON IS FULL... BUT BLOWS SO HOT GOOD THINK YOU HAVE THE HEATER ON...I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO FIX IT... AND WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD...SEVERAL OTHER FORDS SAME YEAR WERE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE... BUT THERE ISN'T A SOLUTION YET...SO THEY COULDN'T HELP ME FIX THE PROBLEM...
ON SEVERAL OF THE ALUMINUM PANELS THERE IS BUBBLING PAINT AT THE EDGES OF THE PANELS.
EXPEDITION SHUT OFF RANDOMLY, TOOK TO DEALER TOLD WAS FINE AND 2 DAYS LATER WHILE MY WIFE AND 3 KIDS WERE DRIVING. ENGINE FAILED WHILE DRIVING. NO LIGHTS ON DASH OR WARNING. LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MILES AND HOUR. NEEDS NEW ENGINE. FORD IS COMPLETELY BLOWING THIS ISSUE OFF. MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN.
FORD VEHICLE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 TO 50 MPH HITS PICKUP TRUCK BROADSIDE PUSHES TRUCK AT 45 DEGREE ANGLE ABOUT 25 FEET. DAMAGE TO FORD FRONT BUMPER, FENDER AND HOOD JUST OFF CENTER OF VEHICLE. NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT!
WIPERS AND RADIO STOP WORKING WHILE CAR IS MOVING. SOMETIMES THEY DO YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THEIR NOT GOING TO WORK.ESPECIALLY DURING A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE SEIZED UP WITHOUT WARNING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STANDSTILL, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE REGULATOR. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SWITCH THE HEATER OFF, BUT THE HEATER FAILED TO TURN OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BLOWER HAD LIKELY FAILED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE HOME BEFORE THE DEALER COULD PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
VEHICLE CONVERTED TO STRETCH LIMOUSINE BY IMPERIAL COACH IN SPRINGFIELD, MO. THE METHOD OF CONVERSION CAUSED THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS TO BE PERMANENTLY DISABLED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CONSTANTLY DISPLAY THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS CONVERSION ALSO HAMPERED THE TRACTION CONTROL REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO TURN OFF TRACTION CONTROL PRIOR TO OPERATING THE VEHICLE TO AVOID DIFFICULTY MANEUVERING AROUND TURNS. THESE OPERATING DEFICIENCIES ARE ONLY ON THE VEHICLE WITH VIN# [XXX]. WE WERE AWARE OF THE SITUATION WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, WE HAVE SOLD THE VEHICLE "AS IS" AT AUCTION BUT IT APPEARS THAT IT IS BEING "FLIPPED" BY SEVERAL OWNERS. WHEN WE TOUCH THE BRAKES, FROM STARTING POSITION OR WHEN IN MOTION, THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE DASH FLASH AND FLICKER OR TURN OFF, THE HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF, THERE IS A CLICKING NOISE IN THE DOORS, THE WINDOWS WON'T ROLL UP OR DOWN, THE AC TURNS OFF, THE RADIO TURNS OFF, AND YOU CAN'T SWITCH GEARS (GEAR SHIFT WON'T MOVE). I'D NEED TO UPLOAD A VIDEO FOR YOU TO SEE IT. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN USING THE BRAKES AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR.
2010 FORD EXPEDITION WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND. A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO THAT WAS ON THE NORTHBOUND SIDE, MADE A LEFT-HAND TURN IN FRONT OF THE EXPEDITION WITHOUT YIELDING RIGHT OF WAY TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE EXPEDITION WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP LEAVING SKID MARKS ON THE PAVEMENT. THERE WAS NO TIME TO REACT AS IT TOOK PLACE SO QUICKLY. THE VEHICLES COLLIDED RIGHT FRONT TO RIGHT FRONT. THEN AS THE VEHICLES CONTINUED IN MOTION THE EXPEDITION WAS DRAGGED SIDEWAYS INTO A T-BONE TYPE POSITION WITH THE SIDE OF THE SILVERADO, AND THE FRONT OF THE EXPEDITION SLIDE DOWN THE SIDE OF THE SILVERADO IN THIS POSITION CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE SILVERADO'S PASSENGER FRONT FENDER, DOOR, EXTENDED CAB DOOR AND FRONT OF THE BEDSIDE. THE BACKEND OF THE SILVERADO CAME UP OFF OF THE GROUND AND THEN THE VEHICLES SEPARATED. THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE EXPEDITION WAS TAKEN OFF. IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS SURPRISED THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND ADVISED US TO STAY OUT OF THE VEHICLE AT THAT POINT. THERE WERE THREE OCCUPANTS IN THE EXPEDITION, ALL WEARING SEATBELTS, INCLUDING THE DRIVER, A PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT AND A PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT SEAT OF THE SECOND ROW OF SEATING. THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER WAS HEAVILY BRUISED ACROSS THE CHEST FROM THE SEATBELT LOCKING UP. HOWEVER THAT PARTICULAR SEATBELT WOULD OFTEN LOCK UP AND START CINCHING DOWN ON WHOEVER WAS OCCUPYING THAT SEAT ON A REGULAR BASIS PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT. AND WHEN THE SEAT BELT WOULD DO SO IT WOULD HAVE TO BE UNFASTENED AND LET TO PULL ALL THE WAY BACK IN, PULLED BACK OUT AND REFASTENED. SO EVEN WITH ITS PRIOR APPARENT DEFECT IT STILL LOCKED UP IN THE COLLISION, JUST NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.
I PURCHASED A NEW SET OF PIRELLI TIRES FOR MY 2010 FORD EXPEDITION IN FEB. 2015 & THEY COST ME $1,800.00. I THOUGHT I WAS PAYING FOR A A BETTER SET OF TIRES. IN AUG.,6 MTH. LATER, MY FAMILY WENT ON A TRIP TO NC IN THE EXPEDITION & ON OUR WAY HOME MY FRONT PASSENGER TIRE COMPLETELY CAME APART FROM THE INSIDE OUT ON THE INTERSTATE. MY TIRE SENSOR LIGHT HAD COME ON MAYBE 10 MINUTES AT MOST PRIOR TO THE TIRE EXPLODING, WE SHOULD'VE HAD TIME TO MAKE IT TO A GAS STATION. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO SARASOTA FORD THE NEXT DAY & WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY PUT A SPARE ON MY CAR & BROUGHT THE TIRE IN BECAUSE MOST LIKELY THE VALVE STEM WAS LEAKING & THEY WOULD'VE COVERED THE TIRE. JIMMY SAID THAT I RUINED THE TIRE BECAUSE OF DRIVING ON IT WITH LOW TIRE PRESSURE. I PAID THE $225.BECAUSE I STILL HAD A SPARE TIRE ON MY CAR & I WASN'T COMFORTABLE WITH IT & I WASN'T GETTING ANYWHERE TRYING TO TELL HIM THAT I DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU CAN BE GIVEN A 10 MIN.WARNING TO GET YOUR TIRE OFF THE ROAD BEFORE IT JUST DISINTEGRATES. I'M NOT SURE IF IT WOULD'VE GONE DIFFERENTLY IF I'D BEEN A GUY! I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH SARASOTA FORD A LONG TIME & THEY HAVE ALL OF MY SERVICE LOG RECORDS. I GET MY OIL CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MI , MY TIRES ROTATED EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE & THE RECORDS WILL SHOW THAT I TAKE CARE OF ANY NEEDS THAT MY CAR HAS, I DON'T IGNORE THEM AS HE WOULD IMPLY. I'M EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN SARASOTA FORD FOR BEING SO QUICK TO BLAME ME FOR THIS TIRE FAILURE & I'M OBVIOUSLY NOT HAPPY WITH PERELLI TIRE EITHER. I AM VERY THANKFUL WE WERE JUST VERY INCONVENIENCED & NO ONE WAS HURT. LUCKILY THERE ARE MANY OTHER CHOICES FOR TIRES & TIRE COMPANIES FOR THE REST OF OUR VEHICLES.
