MY 2005 FORD F150 JUST DROPPED THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DOWN INTO THE DOOR DUE TO THE POORLY DESIGNED FAULTY WINDOW REGULATOR. FROM SEARCHING THE WEB THIS IS A WELL KNOWN DEFECT THAT IS ABUNDANT IN F150'S. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THIS HAPPENED IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN SHOT AT AND DROVE OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH AND BANGED MY SHOULDER. THIS IS WELL KNOWN TO BE AN ISSUE AND IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *TR
CRACKING ON THE SHOULDER OF MY TIRES. *TR
5.4L, SUPERCREW-- ENGINE WAS REPLACED BY FORD AT 38,000 MILES (AFTER COMPLAINT TO FORD CUST SVC) DUE TO INJECTOR FAILURE AND CYLINDER HYDRA-LOCK. NOW AT 46,000 MILES, COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. ONLY USED FOR DAILY DRIVER, NO TOWING, NEVER OFF-ROAD. TRANSMISSION FAILED ON INITIAL START ON 60 DEGREE MORNING, NO PRE-FAILURE INDICATORS. PAID $2800 FOR TRANSMISSION REBUILD. I HAVE NOTICED A FAIRLY LARGE NUMBER OF PROBLEMS REPORTED ON SUB-STANDARD FACTORY TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE PARTS ON FORD TRUCKS. *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO TIMES NOW. WHILE DRIVING, I HEAR LOUD POP OR BANG AND THEN THE WINDOW WILL FALL INTO THE DOOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVERS SIDE. THIS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I THOUGHT SOMEONE WAS SHOOTING AT ME. IT STARTLED ME QUITE BADLY. FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THESE WINDOW REGULATORS. PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REPAIR, BUT THE REPAIR DOES NOT PERMANENTLY FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE COVER THE WINDOW WITH PLASTIC WHILE WAITING FOR THE REPAIR. IF THEY CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR THEY MAY DRIVE AROUND FOR WEEKS OR MONTHS WITH A PLASTIC WINDOW THAT COMPLETELY BLOCKS VISIBILITY. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD WITH THE 5.4 LT. ENGINE. AT THE 63,000 MILE MARK I DECIDED TO REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS DUE TO SLIGHT IDLE PROBLEM. AFTER SPENDING $102.00 ON A NEW SET OF SPARK PLUGS I RAN INTO THE PROBLEM OF THE SPARK PLUG'S LOWER HALF BREAKING INSIDE THE CYLINDER HEAD, IT TOOK ME TWO DAYS TO COMPLETE THE REPLACEMENT DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN OF THE SPARK PLUGS. THE SPARK PLUG STEEL SHELL IS MADE OF TWO PARTS A TOP HALF THAT HAS THE THREADS MADE ONTO IT AND THE LOWER HALF THAT HAS THE HOOD WERE THE GAP IS MADE BETWEEN THE ELECTRODE AND ITSELF ALLOWING FOR A SPARK TO HAPPEN. THE PROBLEM BEING IN THAT THESE TWO PARTS ARE ONLY CRIMPED TOGETHER, THE CRIMPING IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH AND THE LOWER HALF DUE TO THE CARBON BUILD UP MAINTAINS ITSELF JAMMED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD WHILE THE TOP PART SLIPS AT THE CRIMPING AREA TURNS AND IS THREADED OUT CAUSING THE SEPARATION, I WAS GOING TO WELD THE TWO PARTS TOGETHER SO THAT THE NEXT TIME I HAD TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS THE LOWER HALF WOULD TURN WITH THE TOP HALF OF ALLOWING IT TO BREAK ITSELF FREE FROM THE CARBON BUILD UP AND NOT BREAK IN THE CYLINDER HEAD BUT DECIDED NOT TO GO WITH IT TOO MUCH TROUBLE I'LL GET RID OF THE TRUCK BEFORE THE SPARK PLUG NEED REPLACING. WELL WHAT I HOPE TO GET OUT OF THIS IS THAT FORD REVAMPS IT'S SPARK PLUG DESIGN BY EITHER WELDING THESE TWO PARTS TOGETHER OR MAKING THE SPARK PLUG SHELL A 1 PIECE SO THAT I DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN IF I DO DECIDE TO BUY ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT AFTER THE HELL I HAD TO GO THOUGH CHANGING THESE SPARK PLUGS. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT - DRIVER INSERTED KEY & TURNED ON THE IGNITION - IMMEDIATELY THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED CAUSING THE HORN TO GO OFF - THE HORN COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF AND HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED - THE DRIVER SUFFERED A WELT ON THE STOMACH FROM THE IMPACT OF THE AIR BAG ALONG WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT FROM THE HORN BEING UNABLE TO BE TURNED OFF AND BREATHED IN DUST/POWDER PARTICLES THAT WERE EMITTED FROM THE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE FORD DEALER THE NEXT DAY @ 9:30AM AND THEY INFORMED US AT 5:00PM THAT SAME DAY THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE AIRBAG/HORN AND WE WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT OUR INSURANCE COMPANY IN WHICH THE INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD DETERMINE IF FURTHER INVESTIGATION WAS NEEDED. FORD MOTOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS CONTACTED ON 11/07/08 AND THIS INCIDENT WAS REPORTED BUT THEY INFORMED ME ALSO THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM AND I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ENGAGE THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER REPLACED THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SENSOR BECAUSE WATER HAD ENTERED THE OLD SENSOR AND CAUSED THE MALFUNCTION. THE REPLACING OF THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SENSOR DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
ON OCTOBER 30, 2008 I WENT OVER A SPEED BUMP AND HEARD A LOUD BANG. WHEN I STOPPED MY TRUCK I NOTICED MY FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WAS SLOWLY COMING DOWN BY ITSELF. ANOTHER BROKEN WINDOW REGULATOR THANKS TO FORD. *TR
2004-2007 F-150 TRUCK SAY TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS OUT AT 100K. THE DEALERS SAY $300 TO CHANGE BUT IF THEY SNAP OF IT COULD COST MORE? THEY ALMOST ALWAYS SNAP!!! FORD HAS A SPARK PLUG THAT SNAPS IN HALF WHEN TRYING TO CHANGE OUT DO TO CARBON BUILD UP. BAD DESIGN AND THEN IS ABOUT $88 HR FOR A TECH TO FIX. ALMOST ALL DEALERSHIPS BREAK THEM AND COST THE OWNER $1000 TO $1800 FOR A SPARK PLUG CHANGE DO TO POOR DESIGN? EVERYONE IS BREAKING AND FORD IS MAKING A TON OF MONEY ON A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED!!!!! TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW RELEASED IN A DOWNWARD POSITION WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR. HE WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
ANOTHER WINDOW DROPS DOWN INSIDE MY DOOR. THIS IS DEFINITELY DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT. FORD USED CHEAP PLASTIC ON THEIR WINDOW REGULATORS THAT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE PURPOSE. *TR
MY WIFE WENT OUT THIS MORNING TO TAKE THE KIDS TO SCHOOL AND THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW HAS FALLEN DOWN IN THE DOOR. WE ARE STILL TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET THIS FIXED. I HAVE READ SEVERAL FORUMS THAT SAY THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL? *TR

VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL AND SERIOUS WOBBLE IN FRONT END AND CAN ALSO FEEL UNDER DRIVER SEAT...THE STEERING WHEEL WOBBLES LEFT AND RIGHT SO BAD SOMETIMES THAT IT CAN BE NAUSEATING. DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM...MUST BE THE TIRES. I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED FULL SET OF TIRES TWICE AND NO RESOLVE. AND NEW STRUTS/SHOCKS, NEW DRIVE SHAFT AND U-JOINTS, SEVERAL FRONT END ALIGNMENTS AND NEW BALL JOINTS, NEW ROTORS, AND MANY REBALANCINGS.... CANNOT FIND PROBLEM TO FIX. THIS FEELS DANGEROUS AS IT REQUIRES A TWO FISTED GRIP AND IT COMES AND GOES...WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS NOT HAVING PALSY ATTACK, VIBRATION CAN BE FELT UNDER DRIVER'S SEAT AND UNDER FEET. *TR
WHILE DRIVING INTO TOWN I DECELERATED AND THE ENGINE STALLED. I PUT TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND REFIRED THE ENGINE. AFTER THAT THE EMISSIONS LIGHT WAS ON. TOOK TRUCK TO MECHANIC AND SAID THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED. MECHANIC REPLACED THROTTLE BODY AND IT COST 450$ PARTS AND LABOR. *TR
I BOUGHT A TRUCK AT SELINSGROVE FORD ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THE NIGHT I GOT IT HOME I NOTICED IT SOUNDED LIKE A DIESEL.. THAT WAS FINE THEN WHEN YOU GET UP TO ABOUT 55MPH ITS HAS A BAD SHIMMY AND I HAD IT BACK A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT TIME AND THEY SAY THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT NOW. IT HAD TO BE WRECKED OR SOMETHING BECAUSE THERE WAS A CREASE ON THE BUMPER AND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR NEEDED ADJUSTED. *TR

IT HAD BEEN LOCKING UP FOR SEVERAL DAYS ON AND OFF. COST TO REPAIR IS ABOUT $300, SO UNTIL I CAN AFFORD IT, THE WINDOW IS HELD IN PLACE WITH VICE-GRIPS. LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THAT HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANY SUCH PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL, BUT I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS JUST LIKE MINE ON THE INTERNET SIMPLY BY TYPING "2005 FORD F-150 WINDOW PROBLEMS" INTO GOOGLE. *TR
2005 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW PICKUP WINDOW REGULATORS BREAK (QUITE COMMONLY), CAUSING THE WINDOW TO NO LONGER HAVE ANY SUPPORT. THE WINDOW THEN CAN FALL ABRUPTLY AT ANY TIME, INCLUDING WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE DRIVER TENDS TO THINK THAT THE VEHICLE HAS GOTTEN HIT BY SOMETHING LARGE, AND SWERVES TO AVOID IT. THIS CAN RESULT IN DRIVING OFF OF THE ROAD OR INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FORD DENIES THAT THE WINDOW REGULATORS ARE NOT FIT FOR THEIR INTENDED PURPOSE, AND REFUSES TO RELEASE A PROPERLY ENGINEERED PART. A CURSORY EXAMINATION OF THE REGULATOR WILL SHOW THAT IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE THE LOADS AND STRESSES THAT EXIST IN THE WINDOW SYSTEM. REPLACING THE PART WITH THE CURRENT DESIGN ONLY STARTS THE CLOCK OVER ON WHEN THE WINDOW WILL FALL AGAIN. AFTER-MARKET REGULATORS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. PLEASE INSIST THAT FORD RECALL THESE FAULTY WINDOW REGULATORS AND REPLACE THEM WITH PROPERLY ENGINEERED UNITS THAT WILL NOT FAIL IN SUCH AN ABRUPT WAY. *TR
WAS SITTING IDLE IN A PARKING LOT WHEN SUDDENLY I HEARD A LOUD POP. WHEN I STARTED TO ROLL MY WINDOW DOWN ON MY 2005 FORD F150 SUPER CAB, THE WINDOW DROPPED DOWN AND SOUNDED LIKE BROKEN GLASS. AFTER REMOVING THE PANEL I SAW THE CABLE MESSED UP. THEN AFTER GOOGLING TO FIND AN ANSWER, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT DOZENS, PERHAPS HUNDREDS OF OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING WITH THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR. THE PLASTIC CLIP BREAKS AND THE CABLE GETS MESSED UP. FORD IS MAKING A KILLING OFF OWNERS BY USING CHEAP, BREAKABLE PARTS. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED! I HAVE NO MONEY TO REPLACE THIS REGULATOR RIGHT NOW, SO I AM AT THE MERCY OF THE GODS IN HOPE THAT SOMEONE DOESN'T STEAL MY TRUCK, OR IT DOESN'T RAIN, SINCE WITH THIS PART BROKEN THE WINDOW WILL NOT STAY UP. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER AT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE TRUCK WAS RUNNING BUT WHEN SHE TRIED TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NOTHING, SHE SAID ON THE DASH IT SAID THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING IN A FAIL SAFE MODE. SHE SAFELY MADE IT TO A AREA WHERE SHE PULLED THE OPERATORS MANUAL OUT AND BEGIN READING. THE ONLY FAIL SAFE MODE SHE FOUND WAS ABOUT THE COOLING, THE TEMPERATURE WAS FINE, SHE CALLED ME I TOLD HER TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF THEN RESTART IT SHE DID AND IT RAN FINE. I HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR A RECALL FOR THE BREAKS I ASK THE DEALER TO RUN A DIAGNOSTICS ON IT TO SEE ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED, ALSO IT A HAD REPEATED THE PROBLEM A COUPLE DAYS IN A ROW BUT ONLY DID IT IN THE MORNING AFTER 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK, NO CODES WERE SHOWING ANY ISSUE. THE TECH SAID HE RAN THROUGH THE SYSTEM BUT FOUND NOTHING HE SAID HE RESET THE COMPUTER IF IT DID IT AGAIN TO BRING IT TO THE DEALER. IT DID IT A COUPLE MORE TIMES I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC HE SAID IT WASN'T SHOWING ANY CODES EITHER. I CONTACTED FORD CONSUMER WITH THE ISSUE TELLING THEM I JUST WANTED IT FIXED THEY SAID THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANY CODE FAULTS AND COULD NOT REPEAT IT SO THEY FORD COULD NOT FIX IT. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT HE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH ANOTHER 2005 FORD 150 TRUCK HE SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC ACCELERATOR. I'M AFRAID IT'S GOING TO DO IT AGAIN AND MY WIFE WON'T BE ABLE TO PREVENT GETTING REAR-ENDED. ALSO FORD CONSUMER SAID THEY DIDN'T SHOW ANY ISSUES WITH THE ACCELERATOR ON THIS VEHICLE, I KNOW THIS ISN'T TRUE BY WHAT I'VE READ HERE ON THIS WEB SITE. PLEASE HELP... *TR
THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCHES ON ALL 4 DOORS OF MY 2005 FORD F150 CREW CAB XLT HAVE QUIT WORKING. AND DEALERS TELL ME THIS HAPPENS A LOT. ITS RIDICULOUS THESE GO OUT AND COST SO MUCH. *TR

2005 FORD F150 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE. *TR
MY 2005 F-150 LARIAT FORD PICKUP TRUCK SUDDENLY BEGAN TO SURGE AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY. WHITE SMOKE WAS BILLOWING OUT THE TAIL PIPE. I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE PARKING OF THE VEHICLE. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND THEN TRIED RESTARTING BUT IT WOULD NOT START. I CALLED A NEARBY FORD DEALER AND THEY DISPATCHED A WRECKER TO BRING THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER GARAGE LOCATED A FEW MILES AWAY. ONCE THE TRUCK WAS LOOKED AT THE DEALER CALLED TO INFORM ME THAT A FUEL INJECTOR HAD GONE BAD AND THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THIS MODEL YEAR OF PICKUP TRUCK TO 111,000 MILES. THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF THE 35,000 MILES WARRANTY. FORD SAID THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE TO REPAIR THE INJECTOR. I'M WONDERING WHY THERE WAS NO RECALL BY FORD SINCE THEY ADMIT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. SHOULD THE INJECTOR HAVE FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGHER SPEED THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF LIFE. *TR
AFTER RELEASING THE PARKING BRAKE, THE CONNECTION OF THE CABLE TO BRAKE ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL FAILED. WHEN THE CONNECTION FAILED IT CAUSED ALL OF THE INTERNAL PARTS OF THE PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY TO COME LOOSE AND BIND, THUS CAUSING ALL OF THE INTERNAL PARTS TO BECOME DISLODGED. ONCE ALL THE PARTS BECAME DISLODGED THEY STARTED TO RATTLE AND BIND INSIDE THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY. TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, THE ENTIRE PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED, INCLUDING THE DISC/DRUM ASSEMBLY AND BRAKE SHOES FOR THE PARKING BRAKE. *TR
DRIVER AIR BAG EXPLODED INSTANTLY UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE.
NORMAL DRIVING WITH WINDOWS UP, HEARD LOUD BANG AND WE THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD HIT OR THROWN SOMETHING AT OUR PICKUP. THEN I NOTICED DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW SLOWLY SLIDING DOWN AND FINALLY FALLING INTO DOOR. PICKUP IS FOR ALL INTENTS UNSAFE. CAN NOT PUT UP WINDOW. I SEE ON OTHER WEBSITES AND THIS ONE THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO FIX THIS WITH A SAFETY RECALL. THIS HAPPENED 2 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY WAS UP WITH LESS THAN 15,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED AND CRASHED HEAD ON INTO A GUARD RAIL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 42,000.
THE F-150 WAS PARKED IN THE CARPORT ATTACHED TO MY SON'S HOUSE. IT HAD BEEN PARKED AND NOT RUNNING FOR AT LEAST 3 HOURS. APPARENTLY, AFTER DOING VERY LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, THERE ARE A LOT OF FOLKS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS BEING USED TO RAISE WINDOW AND THE GLASS FELL INTO THE DOOR PANEL MAKING A LOUD BANG. THE NOISE WAS LOUD AND I BELIEVED THE GLASS HAD BROKEN DUE TO THE NOISE. THE WINDOWS ARE SELDOM OPERATED AS AIR-CONDITIONING IS TYPICALLY USED. , THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS SCHEDULED TO REPAIR THIS SECOND FAILURE IN LESS THAN ONE MONTH. I HAD AN INCIDENT WITH MY 2005 FORD F-150 WINDOW REGULATOR IN WHICH THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW JUST DROPPED DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MARCH OF 2008. BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER WHAT CAUSED THE WINDOW JUST TO DROP DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND HE STATED THAT THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOW REGULATORS IN THE '04 AND '05 F-150'S. AT THAT TIME I TOLD HIM THAT I WANTED THE OTHER WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED. HE ASKED IF I HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE OTHER ONES AND I REPLIED THAT I HAD NOT YET. HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I EXPLAINED MY CONCERN BEING THAT THE TRUCK WOULD BE OUT OF WARRANTY IN 3 MONTHS AND THAT I WANTED IT TO BE FIXED WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HE TOLD ME THAT IF I DID HAVE A PROBLEM AND IT WAS DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT, THEY WOULD REPLACE IT. TWENTY FOUR DAYS AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DROPPED DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. I WAS NOT WINDING IT UP OR DOWN, IT JUST DROPPED DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WITH A LOUD CRASH. IT SCARED THE HECK OUT OF ME AND I ALMOST HIT THE MEDIAN GUARD RAIL. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. I COULD SEE THE TOP OF THE WINDOW THROUGH THE OPENING AND FIGURED IT WAS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS WINDOW REGULATOR. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED THAT BECAUSE THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS FAULTY EQUIPMENT AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT UP WITH FORD. I HAVE WRITTEN FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE ON TEN DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND ONLY EVER RECEIVED ONE RESPONSE. THEY ASKED WHAT I WANTED DONE AND I REPLIED THAT I JUST WANTED IT REPLACED. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 2 MONTHS NOW AND I HAVE RECEIVED NO OTHER RESPONSES FROM FORD AND MY WINDOW IS STILL NOT FIXED. THE WINDOWS ARE SELDOM OPERATED AS AIR-CONDITIONING IS TYPICALLY RUNNING IN THE HEAT OF FLORIDA. THIS WAS THE THIRD EVENT FOR THIS VEHICLE. FAILURE OF WINDOW REGULATORS AND THE WINDOW FALLING INTO THE DOOR PRESENTS AN EXTREME POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD FOR OCCUPANTS (CHILDREN AND ANIMALS) IN THE CAR, AS WELL AS LOADS BEING LOST OUT THE WINDOW. THE TORRENTIAL RAINS IN NORTHEAST FLORIDA IN THE SUMMER MAKE THESE FAILURES EVEN MORE PROBLEMATIC. ONCE AGAIN, THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT REP INDICATED THE REGULATOR IS A NEW PART IN THE F150 AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO BE SEEN ON THIS VEHICLE. HE ENCOURAGED US TO REPORT IT TO THE COMPANY TO ALERT THEM TO THE POTENTIAL NEED FOR A RECALL. WE DID AND FORD INDICATED RECALLS WERE NHTSA'S CONCERN. ADVISED THAT THE 2005 F-150 5.4 TRITON ENGINE HAS A HISTORY OF SPARK PLUGS SEIZING IN THE ENGINE AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE PLUGS BE REPLACED. FORD SAYS THE PLUGS WILL LAST FOR 100,000 MILES. TSB 08-7-6 ISSUED BY FORD TO ADDRESS PROBLEM. HAD PLUGS REPLACED AT 43,123 MILES AND HAD THREE FROZEN OR SEIZED COSTING OVER $300.00 IN LABOR. FORD KNOWS OF PROBLEM AND HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO CORRECT DESIGN FLAW.
