DEFECTIVE WINDOW REGULATOR ON PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR. WINDOW FELL DOWN INSIDE OF DOOR. REGULATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD F-150 FX4 FOUR DOOR TRUCK AND ON JULY 17, 2008 I HAD AN ACCIDENT. A CAR RAN THROUGH A STOP SIGN AND I HIT THEM IN THE SIDE OF THEIR CAR. I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 30-35 MPH AND HIT THEM STRAIGHT WITH THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE BUMPER WAS CRUSHED IN AND THE GRILL DESTROYED AND SEVERAL OTHER COMPONENTS. I HAVE A CONCERN OF WHY THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 F150 FORD FX4 , AND TWO FRONT WINDOWS FELL INTO THE DOOR WITHIN THREE MONTHS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS TRUCK, THAT THE POWER WINDOW REGULATORS ARE FAULTY. WHEN THESE WINDOWS FALL INSIDE THE DOOR I AM LEFT SCARED AND VERY UNSAFE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND COMPLAINTS ALL OVER ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. DEFECTIVE WINDOW REGULATOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. WINDOW FELL INSIDE THE DOOR. REGULATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT FAINT AND ATTEMPTED TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY. SHE BELIEVES THAT SHE PASSED OUT AND, WHEN SHE CAME TO, SHE WAS IN AN EMBANKMENT. THE CONTACT HAD CROSSED OVER FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC AND STRUCK A TREE HEAD ON. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE CONTACT WAS INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. WINDOWS BREAK WITH NO WARNING, WITH A CRASH INTO THE DOOR. THIS USUALLY OCCURS WHILE DRIVING, STARTLING THE DRIVER AND POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V208000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS). AFTER THE REPAIR, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED HIM THAT HE NEEDED TO HAVE THE TIE RODS REPLACED AT THE COST OF $288. THE CONTACT HAS NOT HAD THE TIE RODS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD ONLY ASSUME PARTIAL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 33,000. DEALER DID NOT REPAIR VEHICLE PER THE RECALL NOTICE,NO WORK WAS DONE AT ALL. CONTACTED DEALER SERV. MGR., NO ATTEMPT TO LOOK AT VEHICLE. CALLED FORD CUST SERV. JUST TOOK INFO ,NO FOLLOW-UP OR CALL BACK. FILLED OUT CUST CARD AFTER SERVICE WAS PERFORMED NOTING COMPLAINT,NO CALL OR ATTEMPT TO CONTACT ME. TALKED TO A SALESPERSON VIA EMAIL ABOUT DEALER WHEN APPROACHED TO BUY A TRUCK BY SALES PERSON, DID NOT REPORT TO GENERAL MGR. ABOUT MY ISSUE WITH HIS SERV. DEPT.. RECALL WAS FOR POWER BRAKE BOOSTER LINE WHICH FAILS. NO SIGN OF NEW PARTS, CLAMPS OR DISTURBED ENGINE COMPARTMENT DIRT, GRIME,ETC. WHEN I BROUGHT TRUCK HOME RIGHT AFTER SERVICE. *TR
2005 FORD F-150 WITH <25K MILES HAS PAINT SPONTANEOUSLY PEELING OFF OF THE TAILGATE, HOOD AND ROOF. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (WHO DID NOT SELL THIS TRUCK) INITIALLY STATED THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE PAINT JOB, IN THE METAL ITSELF AND PRETENDED TO FILE A PICTORIAL CLAIM OF THE DAMAGES. FORD'S "CUSTOMER SERVICE" DEPARTMENT DENIED THE CLAIM, STATING THAT OUR REQUEST WAS TO REPAINT AREAS THAT HAD SCRATCHES AND DENTS. THIS IS THE FURTHEST THING FROM THE TRUTH. "CUSTOMER SERVICE" SAID THAT ONCE A CLAIM IS REVIEWED THEY ARE DONE WITH IT AND THERE IS NO FURTHER RECOURSE. IN THE MEANTIME, WE ARE STUCK WITH A THREE-YEAR OLD TRUCK THAT IS LOSING PAINT DAILY AND BEGINNING TO RUST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND CLOSING THE WINDOW. ONCE THE WINDOW WAS CLOSED, THERE WAS A LOUD ABNORMAL BANG. THE WINDOW IMMEDIATELY DROPPED INTO THE DOOR PANEL AND SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A CABLE WITHIN THE DOOR PANEL FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW YET THE WINDOW DID NOT SHATTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EXAMINED FOR THE CAUSE OF FAILURE NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
MULTIPLE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY FAILURES DURING NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE AND EVEN PARKED IN SOME INSTANCES. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND CAUSES MUCH STRESS. IF YOU ARE DRIVING IN THE EXTREME HEAT, SNOW OR A HEAVY RAIN STORM YOU CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. IF YOU HAVE PASSENGERS ESPECIALLY SMALL CHILDREN THEY WILL HAVE TO SUFFER UNTIL YOU CAN GET TO A SERVICE STATION OR HAVE THE TOOLS ON HAND TO FIX IT. ONCE THE WINDOW FALLS YOU ARE EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS WITH NO PROTECTION FROM HAVING THE WINDOW UP. THE WINDOW FALLS INTO THE DOOR AND YOU CANNOT GET THE WINDOW BACK UP UNLESS YOU TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF AND MANUALLY SHOVE THE WINDOW UP AND PLACE SOMETHING THERE TO HOLD IT. I HAVE HAD THE PARTS REPLACED EVERY TIME AND IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN AND TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME FIVE TIMES IN THREE YEARS.
BOTH FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED WITHIN 60K MILES WITHOUT ANY INPUT. THE LOUD BANG WHEN THEY FAIL COULD CAUSE DRIVER DISTRACTION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE PEDAL WAS STIFF AND FELT AS IF THERE WAS NO BRAKING POWER. HE PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS POSSIBLE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO FINALLY STOP. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BRAKE ASSIST HOSE WAS DEFECTIVE AND CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AND THE CONTACT HAD TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE. HE ALSO CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE HE DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V208000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS), BUT WAS INFORMED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 46,000.
2005 FORD F150 LEFT REAR EMERGENCY BRAKE DOES NOT RELEASE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO VIBRATE AND CREATING EXCESSIVE HEAT ON AXLE. MAY BE SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBED IN NHTSA ITEM NUMBER 10024843. *TR

MY 2005 FORD F-150 LARIAT 5.4L SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL, I WAS TOLD THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH F-150'S WITHIN 2003-2006. THIS IS A RESULT OF EITHER CAM PHASERS OR BAD LIFTERS. *TR
THE LEFT FRONT WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO DOOR 06/09/2010 AT 39738 MILES. CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE VULNERABLE TO THEFT. (AT THE TIME VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT) REPAIR AT THE DEALER WAS $384.00 - SECOND FAILURE WAS TO THE RIGHT FRONT WINDOW REGULATOR WHILE DRIVING. 11-13-2010 @ 61400 MILES LOUD POP WHILE WINDOW WAS BEING ROLLED UP. WINDOW DROPPED INTO DOOR. THIS ACTION CAUSED AN IMMEDIATE DISTRACTION TO ME WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THIS COULD BE VERY UNSAFE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT! I TRULY BELIEVE THESE REGULATORS ARE NOT SUFFICIENTLY DESIGNED TO RELIABLE STANDARDS. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO REPLACE THE REGULATORS WITH A NEW DESIGNED PART AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER. THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF TESTIMONIALS FOR THIS BAD ORDER PART. FORD IS NOT WILLING TO AID IN THIS MATTER.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. ON JUNE 8, 2008, THE CONTACT STARTED THE ENGINE, PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. SHE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER CHEST, RIGHT EYE, ARMS, AND RIGHT ANKLE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE BODY SHOP. HER INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT FORD WILL SEND AN INVESTIGATOR TO THE BODY SHOP. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 55,000. UPDATED 07/09/08 *BF UPDATED
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FALLS DOWN INTO THE DOOR, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, AND WOULD NOT ROLL BACK UP. HAD TO HAVE TO WINDOW REGULATOR AND WINDOW MOTOR REPLACED COMPLETELY DUE TO THE ELEVATOR CABLES OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR BREAKING. HAS HAPPENED TO MORE THAN ONE WINDOW. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK WITH 48,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAD A BAD SHAKE IN THE REAR AREA. ALSO A BAD BRAKE SHIMMY. TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT. COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. TOLD NORMAL! I WORKED IN THE SERVICE DEPT OF A FORD DEALERSHIP I KNOW NORMAL. 53,000 OR SO MILES BAD CLUNKING FROM TRANSFER AREA WOULDN'T GO INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE 1/2 THE TIME TOOK TO FORD, TOLD NOTHING WRONG AGAIN. 72,000 MILES TRANSMISSION GOES OUT. TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE, OUT BY 2000 MILES. I WAS A SERVICE MANAGER FOR A FORD DEALERSHIP THEY COULD DO A SUPPLEMENT ON THE WARRANTY. I ASKED FOR 1/2 OF COST TOLD NO. EVEN AFTER DOCUMENTATION OF ALL THE SERVICES AND COMPLAINTS TOLD TO BAD SO SAD. THIS TRUCK HAS HAD TRANSMISSION TROUBLES, 4 WHEEL DRIVE TROUBLE, THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH FELL APART IN THE DOOR AND A BAD BRAKE SHIMMY EVEN AFTER I HAD A 4 WHEEL BRAKE JOB DONE, ITS STILL THERE. NO HELP FROM FORD AT ALL! *TR
SEVERE BLOWOUT. TIRE LOOKS AS THOUGH IT WAS SHOT FULL OF HOLES! GOING 65 MPH ON HEAVILY TRAVELED HIGHWAY. *TR

FORTUNATELY, AFTER CONTINUALLY APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V208000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS). HE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS, WHICH TOTAL $567. THE DEALER REPLACED THE RUBBER HOSE ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM SUPPLY TUBE ASSEMBLY. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 54,000. UPDATED 06/16/08 *BF THE INSTALLED A POWER BOOSTER HOSE UNDER THE INTAKE.
2005 FORD F150 SUPERCREW 4 DOOR TRUCK-FAILED POWER WINDOW REGULATOR (REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR/SECOND REGULATOR FAILURE ON THIS TRUCK, DIFFERENT WINDOW). DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN I HEAR A LOUD BANG. THE NOISE WAS LOUD AND I COULD NOT BE SURE THAT SOMETHING HAD NOT BEEN THROWN OR SHOT AT MY TRUCK. AS I TRIED TO UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM, I NOTICED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FALLING INTO THE DOOR. THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE SO I KNEW WHAT TO EXPECT. THE FAILURE WAS A TOTAL SURPRISE. THE TRUCK IS ONLY USED FOR LIGHT YARD-RELATED WORK AND DOES NOT GO OFF ROAD. THE WINDOWS ARE SELDOM OPERATED AS AIR-CONDITIONING IS TYPICALLY RUNNING IN THE HEAT OF FLORIDA. THIS WAS THE SECOND EVENT FOR THIS VEHICLE. ONCE AGAIN, THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT REP INDICATED THE REGULATOR IS A NEW PART IN THE F150 AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT UNIQUE TO MY TRUCK. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE REGULATOR AND INDICATED I SHOULD PASS MY COMPLAINT ON TO FORD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. ON MAY 18, 2008, WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE SPEED REDUCED TO 30 MPH; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP AND CONTINUED THROUGH A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY. SHE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM SUPPLY HOSE WAS FALLING OFF, AND THEY REMOVED THE INTAKE AND GLUED IT BACK INTO POSITION. THE DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V208000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS) DID NOT APPLY TO HER VIN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 133,077. UPDATED 06/09/2008. *LJ
SINCE JAN. 08 THERE HAVE BEEN 3 DEALERS LOOK AT & SUPPOSEDLY FIXED 5.4 LITER FORD ENGINE. FORD DOES NOT WANT TO HELP WITH ANY EXPENSE & I HAVE 3 OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAVE HAD SAME RECURRING PROBLEM. ALL THE ABOVE STARTED WITH RECALL AND HAS GONE DOWNHILL. *TR
WINDOW REGULATOR. TONS OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE "PLASTIC" SUPPORT SYSTEM FAILING CAUSING THE WINDOW TO FALL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST SOME POWER AND THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHICH READ ENGINE FAILED SOFT MODE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT THE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE, HOWEVER ONCE THE CONSUMER APPROACHED A LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE FAIL SAFE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. SMOKE EMITTED FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THEN THERE WAS A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED.
FORD F150 BRAKE FAILURE, SUDDEN AND WITHOUT WARNING. OCCURRED WHEN DRIVING TO WORK. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, COULDN'T AT A STOP SIGN, ROLLED THROUGH AND USED MY EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. *TR
HAVING INTERMITTENT EXTREMELY VIOLENT SHAKING ISSUES WITH OUR '05 FORD F-150. IT ONLY HAPPENS NOW AND THEN, BUT WHEN IT DOES, YOU CANNOT EVEN STEER TO GET THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD. IT HAS NO RELATION TO SPEED OR BRAKING. WENT TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED ONE OF THE ARMS, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I NOTICED THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS WITH ALL YEARS AND NUMEROUS MAKES OF THE FORD TRUCK POSTED ONLINE UNDER "VIOLENT SHAKING". IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT FORD IS NOT LOOKING INTO, AND IT WILL CAUSE A DEATH, OR MANY IF IT IS NOT ADDRESSED. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT A 2005 FORD F150 AND EVERYTIME YOU RIDE ON THE HIGHWAY BETWEEN 65 AND 75 MILES PER HOUR THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VERY BAD. ITS REAL ANNOYING THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT IT IS OR HOW TO FIX IT. *TR

HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE REGULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF $300. IN ADDITION, THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE FAILED COMPONENT WITH A NEW REGULATOR OF THE SAME DESIGN. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
AT 2:.00 AM THE MORNING OF APRIL 24, 2008 WE WERE AWAKENED BY OUR SERIOUSLY AGITATED DOG, TO FIND OUR 2005 FORD F150 ENGULFED BY FLAMES AND TO SOON SEE OUR OTHER TWO VEHICLES AND OUR HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE. A TOTAL OF FOUR INVESTIGATORS HAVE CONCLUDED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS THE FORD F150. THE TRUCK IS PRESENTLY UNDER LOCK AND KEY AND THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES TO FIND THE EXACT COMPONENT. *TR
PURCHASED A USED 2005 FORD F-150 FROM THE DEALER SHIP, TRUCK HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN I CHANGED THE PLUGS 5 OUT OF THE 8 BROKE OFF IN THE HEAD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE REAR BRAKES ON THE DRIVER SIDE LOCKED, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO CRASH. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PIVOT LEVER (EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE) WAS RUSTED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,930 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,960.
SUDDEN TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE ON FORD F150 2005. RESULT OF VACUUM LINE POPPING OFF OF REAR INTAKE MANIFOLD. *TR
I OWN A 2005 F150 WITH A 5.4 ENGINE. THE TRUCK IS 3 YEARS OLD WITH 49,000 MILES. THE BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT ANY NOTICE OR WARNING. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THE VACUUM HOSE THAT LEADS FROM THE BACK OF THE ENGINE TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS WORN AND NEEDED REPLACING. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE ISSUE AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE WORN PART AND LABOR. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH I CONTACTED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THE PROBLEM BEFORE AND THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE ISSUE. I HAVE A TOUGH TIME UNDERSTANDING HOW THIS TYPE OF BRAKE FAILURE CAN OCCUR ON SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE LOOKED OVER EVERYTHING THAT FORD GAVE ME WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM THEM. NOTHING SAYS THAT THIS PART SHOULD BE REPLACED AT ANY MILEAGE. THEY CONCERN ME WITH FLUID CHANGES, TIRE WEAR, ETC. NOTHING ABOUT A HOSE THAT COULD PUT MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF MY FAMILY AND OTHERS IN DANGER. THE PART THAT FAILED IS LOCATED BEHIND THE ENGINE AND THE ONLY WAY TO SEE IF THE PART WAS WORN IS TO TAKE THE TOP OF THE MOTOR OFF. SO I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS PART IS NEVER INSPECTED UNTIL THE BRAKES FAIL. THE DEALER DID FIX THE TRUCK AT MY EXPENSE STATING THEY COULD DO NOTHING. THEY SAID THEY WOULD ALSO REPORT THE ISSUE TO FORD. I ALSO CALLED THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AND THEY AGREED WITH THE DEALER . NO RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. I NEED TO SEE THIS ISSUE IS PUT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE. SOMEONE WILL BE KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED IF NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT THIS MANUFACTURING ISSUE. THIS PART SHOULDN'T FAIL UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND IF DOES THERE NEEDS TO BE TIME SPENT NOTIFYING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE ISSUE. NOT SWEEPING IT UNDER THE FLOOR MAT. *TR
MY VEHICLE STALLED WHEN TRYING TO START. WHEN IT DID START, I PRESSED THE BRAKES AND THEY WERE HARD. I PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE AND TRIED TO APPLY MY BRAKES AND THE BRAKES DIDN'T SEEM TO WORK. I LITERALLY HAD TO PUT 2 FEET ON THE BRAKES AND PRESS DOWN WITH ALL OF MY WEIGHT JUST TO STOP MY TRUCK. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS MY VACUUM LINE ON MY BRAKES THAT CAME OFF. IT IS GOING TO COST ME $375. THANKFULLY I WASN'T DRIVING FAST WHEN MY BRAKES GAVE OUT. *TR
NORMAL BRAKING CAPABILITY WAS SUDDENLY AND COMPLETELY LOST WITHOUT WARNING WHEN VACUUM ASSIST HOSE SEPARATED FROM FITTING ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. VACUUM HOSE SEPARATED APPARENTLY DUE TO SOME SLIGHT BACK-PRESSURE THAT OCCURRED WHEN ENGINE WAS STARTED. ORIGINAL DESIGN DID NOT INCLUDE A CLAMP ON THE HOSE. CORRECTION OF THE PROBLEM REQUIRED REMOVAL OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE VACUUM FITTING; THE HOSE WAS REPLACED AND CLAMPED. MILEAGE WAS 76,442 AND EXTENDED WARRANTY DID NOT COVER AND IT COST ME $782. IT IS VERY DISCONCERTING TO LEARN THAT NORMAL BRAKING CAPABILITY CAN BE COMPLETELY LOST IN THIS WAY WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHATSOEVER. I BELIEVE THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY MUST BE HELD FULLY RESPONSIBLE TO CORRECT WHAT IS CLEARLY A DESIGN DEFICIENCY THAT HAS HIGH POTENTIAL TO CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. I ALSO FEEL THAT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR COST OF REPAIR SINCE THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT IT KNEW OF THE PROBLEM AND WAS INFORMED TO MODIFY THE VACUUM HOSE ASSEMBLY BECAUSE THEY KNEW THAT THE ORIGINAL COMPOSITION WAS WRONG. *TR
WE OWN A 2005 FORD F150 SUPERCREW PICKUP BOUGHT IN JUNE 2005. OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS INSTANCES WHERE THE TRUCK WILL ACCELERATE UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN EITHER JUST COMING TO A STOP OR WHEN COMPLETELY STOPPED. EXAMPLE- SITTING AT BANK DRIVE THROUGH- STOPPED- WHEN THE GAS WAS HIT TO MOVE FORWARD, THE ENGINE REVVED UP AND IT TOOK BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE- WITH WHEELS SPINNING. WE BELIEVE IT TO HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH CRUISE CONTROL. HAVE HAD TO DEALER ON 2 OCCASIONS THEY FIND NOTHING. LAST WEEK, I DROVE THE VEHICLE AND WAS COMING TO A STOP BEHIND A TRUCK AT A RED LIGHT. AS I BRAKED, THE ENGINE REVVED TO HIGH, WHEELS WERE SCREECHING, I KEPT BOTH FEET ON BRAKE- THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. I THREW IT INTO PARK- STILL HAD ENGINE REVVING AND TURNED OFF KEY BEFORE IT STOPPED. WE HAD OUR PERSONAL MECHANIC LOOK AT IT. HE CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG. I REFUSE TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE AND WANT IT ON RECORD THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT COULD KILL SOMEONE SOME DAY. WINDOW REGULATOR ON BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE BOTH BROKEN. SOUNDED LIKE A GRINDING NOISE AND THE WINDOW FELL IN DOOR PANEL ON DRIVER SIDE. PASSENGER SIDE HAS THE GRINDING NOISE NOW. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN TO MAKE SURE THAT SHE DEPRESSED THE CORRECT PEDAL, AND THE VEHICLE JERKED, CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE, AND THE ENGINE REVVED. THE VEHICLE ONLY STOPPED WHEN THE PASSENGER PLACED THE GEAR INTO PARK. THE CONTACT STRUCK THE PRECEDING VEHICLE AND THE BUMPER SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGES. THE CONTACTS VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE SHE WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. SHE FILED COMPLAINT NUMBER 0405860938 WITH FORD. SHE WAS INFORMED THAT IT WOULD BE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS BEFORE SHE WOULD HEAR FROM THEIR LEGAL DEPARTMENT. THERE IS CURRENTLY AN OPEN INVESTIGATION NUMBER PE08001 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS). TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT IS A PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN AND HE INSPECTED HIS VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG SENSOR MODULE. THE SENSOR MODULE IS LOCATED IN A WAY THAT ALLOWS WATER TO ENTER AND, OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, BECOMES FROZEN, WHICH PERMANENTLY BREAKS THE SENSOR. HE ORDERED THE PART FROM THE DEALER AND REPLACED THE AIR BAG SENSOR AS A TEMPORARY REMEDY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 25,000. UPDATED 04/29/08. *LJ

DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MILES PER HOUR I ACTIVATED THE VEHICLES' CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM. WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLES' INTERIOR LIGHTING CAME ON AND I SUBSEQUENTLY NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD DIED ( ENGINE, WAS NO LONGER RUNNING). IN A PANIC, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. I CAUTIOUSLY PULLED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY, PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND TURNED THE IGNITION KEY TO THE OFF POSITION. I THEN TURNED THE KEY TO THE STARTING POSITION AND THE VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN. THIS OCCURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. AN ADDITIONAL ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLES AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHEREIN (USUALLY WITHIN THE FIRST COUPLE MINUTES OF START UP) WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING IS TURNED ON, ON THE "AUTO" SETTING, FOR EXAMPLE AT THE 60 DEGREE SETTING ON HIGH, THE SYSTEM WILL INTERMITTENTLY TURN OFF AND THEN TURN ON DISPLAYING 72 DEGREES, THEN TURN OFF, MAYBE BACK ON AGAIN ETC., BLOWING AT A MUCH LOWER SPEED. ADDRESSED COMPLAINTS WITH FORD DEALERSHIP, HOWEVER, (AS ALWAYS) THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. INQUIRED ABOUT ANY SERVICE BULLETINS AND INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NONE. LOSS OF BRAKES WHILE DRIVING OUR F150 IN MARCH. ALMOST HIT A CAR IN FRONT OF US - HAD TO PULL ONTO SIDE OF ROAD INTO GRASS TO STOP THE VEHICLE. LOCAL AUTO SHOP FIXED THE PROBLEM-"MAIN VACUUM FEED OFF ON BACK OF MANIFOLD". *TR
THE TORQUE CONVERTER ON MY 2005 FORD F-150 HAS HAD TWO TORQUE CONVERTERS FAIL IN THE DRIVE TRAIN. ONE FAILED WITHIN THE 3 YEAR OR 36,000 MILE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE SECOND TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED AROUND 50,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THIS INFORMATION WARRANTS AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE FORD LINE OF TORQUE CONVERTERS FOR THE FORD F-150 TRUCK LINE. *TR
THE POWER BRAKE SYSTEM SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN LEAVING THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO STOP. *TR
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT IN MODERATE TRAFFIC. I HAD 80 FT TO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND WHEN I DEPRESSED MY BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT 3/4 OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND WAS VIBRATING AS ANTI LOCK WAS ENGAGED. I RAPIDLY DEPRESSED THE PEDAL AGAIN AND THE SAME OCCURRED. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT THE BRAKES FINALLY ENGAGED BUT WAS TO LATE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AS I WAS ONLY 2 FEET FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME RESULTING IN A CRASH. MY SPEED WAS REDUCED TO 8-10MPH UPON IMPACT. THE SMALLER CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS KNOCKED INTO A THIRD CAR STOPPED AT THE LIGHT. DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE TRUCK AND THE SMALLER CAR AND VERY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE 3RD VEHICLE. THE WEATHER WAS SUNNY AND THE STREETS WERE COMPLETELY DRY. I COULD NOT GET MY VEHICLE STOPPED EVEN WITH NO LOAD OTHER THAN MY PASSENGER WHO IS A WITNESS TO THE INCIDENT. NO INJURIES OCCURRED IN ANY OF THE THREE VEHICLES AND NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. I AM SCARED TO DEATH AS I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR 2 YEARS AND NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN IN MY LIFE. THE BRAKES WORKED PERFECTLY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT AND THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALER WHERE PURCHASED NEW AND ALL SERVICE RECORDS ARE AT THIS DEALER. THEY THOROUGHLY INSPECTED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AND FOUND NO ISSUES. SYSTEM CHECK ON ALL SENSORS,LINES, ROTORS AND PADS WERE OK. PERFECT WORKING ORDER ? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT RELEASE BUTTON IS STUCK INWARD, WHICH PREVENTS THE SEAT BELT FROM CONNECTING SECURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT SERVICED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,431 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
