TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, HE HEARD AN ABNORMALLY LOUD NOISE FROM THE VEHICLE. HE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT A SPARK PLUG FROM THE CYLINDER BLOCK HAD EJECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO VERIFIED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE BLOCK NEEDED TO BE RE-THREADED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
FAULTY WINDOW REGULATORS ON F150 TRUCKS. DRIVING BACK FROM CALIFORNIA TO NEVADA WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE WINDOW FELL IN TO DOOR. WE HAD TO DRIVE 300 MILES IN A RAIN STORM WITH THE WINDOW DOWN, AND THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW IN 2005 AND FORD WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE. THIS IS NOT EXCEPT ABLE BY THE MANUFACTURE AND BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SO MANY PEOPLE WE NEED TO BOYCOTT BUYING FORD PRODUCTS. *TR
AFTER DRIVING THROUGH A SHALLOW (LESS THAN 6 INCHES DEEP) PUDDLE, MY AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON MY DASHBOARD, ACCOMPANIED BY A WARNING CHIME. THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY FRONT IMPACT SENSOR, WHICH SHORTED OUT. THE SHORTED SENSOR, IN TURN, SHORTED OUT THE ENTIRE RESTRAINT SYSTEM MODULE (THE "BRAIN BOX" ). AFTER INVESTIGATING ON THE INTERNET, I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. IT SEEMS THAT THE LOCATION OF THE FRONT IMPACT SENSOR, PLACED ON THE HOOD LATCH SUPPORT, MAKES THE SENSOR SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER INFILTRATION. CORROSION THEN CAUSES THE SENSOR TO FAIL. FURTHERMORE, WITH THE FREEZE-THAW CYCLE IN MICHIGAN, WATER THAT IS ALLOWED TO ENTER THE SENSOR CAN EVENTUALLY CRACK THE HOUSING, ALLOWING EVEN MORE MOISTURE TO GET INSIDE. THE FACT THAT THE ENTIRE RESTRAINT SYSTEM MODULE WAS DESTROYED BY THE SHORT IN ONE IMPACT SENSOR IS QUITE DISCONCERTING. THE SYSTEM SHOULD BE ENGINEERED TO PREVENT SUCH CATASTROPHIC ELECTRICAL DAMAGE. IT APPEARS THAT THE SENSOR DESIGN AND PLACEMENT WAS POORLY ENGINEERED FOR VEHICLES IN THE NORTHERN CLIMATE WHERE THE FREEZE-THAW CYCLE AND ROAD SALT ARE PRESENT. *TR
REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE. I RARELY IF EVER HAVE PASSENGERS RIDE IN MY TRUCK AND EVEN LESS SO IN THE REAR, SO THE WINDOW RARELY EVER GETS USED. MY TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEN AND HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 4 MONTHS IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CAME HOME ONE DAY TO MY REAR PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. THE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE WHILE JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY NOT BEING USED OR TAMPERED WITH. I ALSO KEEP A WINDSHIELD SUNSCREEN INSIDE THE WINDSHIELD TO KEEP HEAT DOWN.
I WAS DRIVING ALONG IN MY 2005, FORD F-150 PICK-UP TRUCK ABOUT TO MAKE A STOP WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL INTO THE DOOR, IT SOUNDED LIKE A SMALL EXPLOSION FRIGHTENING MYSELF AND MY WIFE WHO WAS A PASSENGER. I HAVE READ TO MANY STORIES CONCERNING THE PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOWS FALLING TO NOT REPORT THIS ONE. IF IT HAVE NOT HAPPEN YET, THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF ONE OF THESE GLASSES BREAKING AND FLYING OUT OF THE WINDOW FRAME BECAUSE MY GLASS TEMPORARILY HUNG AT AN AWKWARD POSITION PREMATURELY BEFORE DROPPING DOWN INTO DOOR FRAME.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER RECEIVING NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V107000 (AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE), THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED TO SECURE AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIRS. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A WAITING LIST OF EIGHTY CUSTOMERS WHO NEEDED REPAIRS BUT THE PARTS NEEDED WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SCHEDULE AND APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIRS AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO THE WAITING PERIOD. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V107000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NECESSARY TO REMEDY THE FAILURE WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. AFTER WAITING A FEW WEEKS, THE CONTACT WAS AGAIN INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
I HAVE A 2005 FORD F150 4 DOOR. WHILE DRIVING, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND MY DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW FELL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. THE LOUD NOISE WAS A SHOCK AND A POSSIBLE SAFETY HAZARD. APPROXIMATELY A WEEK LATER, THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW DID THE SAME THING!! I HAVE READ SEVERAL THINGS ON LINE ABOUT THIS STATING THAT THE WINDOW REGULATORS GOING OUT ON THESE VEHICLES IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT HAD EITHER FIXED DUE TO THE COST. THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THIS PROBLEM ON LINE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *KB
I CANNOT GET THE RECALL PARTS FOR THE AIRBAGS ON MY 2005 FORD F150. NO ONE HAS THEM!!! AND CANNOT SAY WHEN THEY WILL BE IN. WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS IN THE MEANTIME???? AND WHY DO A RECALL IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE PARTS!!!! OUTRAGEOUS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FAULTY SPARK PLUGS FRACTURED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD AND THE REMAINS BECAME STUCK IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. UPDATED 08/01/11*LJ THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR FOUR WEEKS TO REMOVE THE SPARK PLUGS. THE CONSUMER PAID $ 467.50 IN LABOR. UPDATED 08/11/11
2005 FORD F150 TRUCK 4X4 AUTO TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED MECHANICAL FAILURE WITH NO WARNING. LOST FORWARD LOW GEARS. ONLY HAS 57K MILES. TRUCK WAS ALWAYS DEALERSHIP SERVICED AND MAINTAINED AS RECOMMENDED. NO HARSH WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPERIENCED. NO HEAVY TOWING DONE. REPLACED WITH REBUILT TRANSMISSION. OLD PART WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE. *TR
2005 FORD F150. CONSUMER STATES ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND VEHICLE CONTINUES TO GO INTO "FAIL SAFE MODE" *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RE-START, AND OTHER TIMES IT WOULDN'T. THE CONSUMER STATED SEVERAL COMPONENTS SUCH AS THE FUEL FILTER, CATALYTIC CONVERTER, FUEL PUMP MODULE, THROTTLE BODY, AND CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WERE REPLACED TO TRY AND RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO MISFIRE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS FINALLY DETERMINED, THE CASING ON THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WIRE HAD RUBBED THROUGH AND WAS SHORTING OUT ON THE AC LINE RUNNING ALONG THE RIGHT FENDER WELL. THE CONSUMER STATED AT SOME POINT WHEN HIS VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED AT THE DEALER, A COVER WAS REMOVED FROM THE FAR LEFT WIRING HARNESS AT THE PCM, WHICH PERMITTED WATER TO RUN DOWN THE INSIDE OF THE WIRING HARNESS AND SHORTED OUT THE CONNECTOR. 2005 FORD F150, 139,000 MILES. TRUCK STARTED MAKING GRIND/BUZZ NOISE INTERMITTENTLY AND WOULD STOP WHEN ACCELERATOR WAS RELEASED. TOOK TO FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD 4WD VACUUM SWITCH DAMAGED FROM WATER AND DRIVER SIDE INDEPENDENT WHEEL END NEEDED REPLACED. NEW SWITCH HAS WATER SHROUD TO PREVENT WATER DAMAGE WHICH WOULD INDICATE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. *TR
THE PAINT IS PEELING OFF DOWN TO THE METAL ON THE ROOF OF MY TRUCK. THIS IS A $38,000 TRUCK THAT I HAVE KEPT WASHED AND WAXED SINCE I BOUGHT IT. FORD WILL NOT CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
IT WAS A SCORCHING SUNNY FLORIDA DAY WHEN MY WINDOW ON MY 2005 F150 WOULD NO LONGER WORK DUE TO A WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY FAILURE THAT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD LIKE TO REPAIR IT AT THE WONDERFUL COST OF OVER $300 AMERICAN DOLLARS. THE WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY WORKING IN THE TRUCK FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS, NOT TO MENTION THE WINDOW SWITCH WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE A COUPLE ABOUT A YEAR AGO ON MY TRUCK WHICH IS WAS ONLY 4 1/2 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. THE WINDOW WOULD NO LONGER ROLL UP, CAUSING SEVERE SUN BURN TO ARMS. FORD SHOULD REPAIR THIS ISSUE AT NO COST, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ALREADY. *TR
2005 FORD F150 XLT 4X4 W/ 5.4 LITER V8. POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE PORTION STARTED LEAKING UNDER SUPPORT CLAMP, AND ALMOST EMPTIED OUT THE RESERVOIR IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS. STEERING WAS NOTABLY HARDER WHICH CAUSED ME TO CHECK FLUID LEVEL. AFTER REPAIRING WITH AFTERMARKET PART, WAS TOLD BY DEALER THIS IS COMMON ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS TRUCK HAS 53,000 MILES, NO ACCIDENTS, NEVER BEEN ABUSED IN ANYWAY THAT COULD HAVE LEAD TO THIS FAILURE. IT APPEARS ROAD GRIT CAUSE THE HOSE TO FAIL BY GETTING IN THE CLAMP AND WEARING INTO THE RUBBER COATING. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE ANY DAMAGE. THE PART SHOULD LAST. *TR

THE DEALER SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT BUT LATER STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER STATED THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED REGARDING THE PART AVAILABILITY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE RECALL AND THEY ALSO STATED THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND DID NOT PROVIDE ANY INDICATION ON WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE RECALL REMEDY REPAIR NOT BEING PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000. HEARD LOUD POP WHEN ROLLING WINDOW UP AND THEN WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR. THIS WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW. I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN IN SEPTEMBER 2009 WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE CAUSE OF THAT WAS BROKEN REGULATOR IN THE WINDOW. THE WINDOWS JUST FALL DOWN INTO THE DOORS. COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IF THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE REGULATORS AND SOMEONE WAS TRAVELING AT ANY RATE OF SPEED. LUCKILY MY WINDOWS DID NOT SHATTER IN THE DOOR WHEN THEY FELL.
2005 FORD F-150, RIGHT REAR WINDOW MECHANISM POPS REAL LOUD,WINDOW FALLS INTO THE DOOR. I WAS NOT ROLLING IT UP OR DOWN,JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK JUST TURNED 34,000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN GARAGED AND TAKEN CARE OF ALL ITS LIFE. *TR

AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS ONLY SENDING FIVE MODULES AT TIME TO EACH DEALER TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN NOTIFIED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT GIVEN A REASON AS TO WHY ONLY FIVE OF THE PARTS WERE BEING MADE AVAILABLE AT A TIME. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V107000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NECESSARY TO REMEDY THE FAILURE WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE PARTS HAD SINCE BEEN UNAVAILABLE FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
AT A STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE TRUCK LUNGED FORWARD. *TR
IN A THREE CAR ACCIDENT. THE 1ST CAR TURNED ON THEIR SIGNAL AT THE SAME TIME ATTEMPTED TO TURN INTO THEIR DRIVEWAY, THE 2ND CAR HIT THE 1ST CAR FROM THE REAR, AS MY F-150 APPROACHED THE 2ND VEHICLE, I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP BEFORE COLLIDING INTO 2ND VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES BECAME SOFT AND DID NOT SLOW THE F-150, THE F-150 WAS TRAVELING AT WELL BELOW THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT, AIR-BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THERE FORE HITTING THE 2ND VEHICLE IN THE REAR CAUSING ALMOST NO DAMAGE TO 2ND VEHICLE AND CAUSING AN ALMOST TOTALED FRONT END TO THE F-150 WITH CLOSE TO $13000 IN DAMAGE TO F-150. NO MAJOR INJURIES WERE REPORTED, ONLY MINOR BACK PAIN TO BOTH PERSONS IN F-150 WERE CONCURRED. *TR
WHILE AT IDLE MY ENGINE STARTED TO TICK,SO I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME I HAD A BAD LASH ADJUSTER,AND IT WAS VERY COMMON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN WITH THE 5,4L 3VALVE ENGINE,SO I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF I COULD FIND ANY INFO ABOUT MY ISSUE AND IT SEAMS THAT THOUSAND OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE,AND HOW FORD WILL NOT RECALL THE MOTORS FOR REPAIR OF A MAJOR DEFECT TO THAT TYPE OF ENGINE,THE MECHANIC TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT DIES,BECAUSE THE COST WILL BE THE SAME TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE ENGINE,POWERTRAIN.COM SELLS THE UPGRADED ENGINE WHICH CORRECTS THE THREE MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS ENGINE,WHICH ARE,LASH ADJUSTERS,CAM PHASERS,AND THE SPARK PLUG TREADS STRIPPING OUT OF THE HEADS,WHY HAS FORD BEEN ABLE TO HIDE THIS FOR SO LONG. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTOR WAS FAULTY DUE TO THE DESIGN, CAUSING A CARBON BUILD UP THAT BLOCKS THE SPARK PLUGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER; HOWEVER, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE SPARK PLUGS. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V107000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE) AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR REPAIRS WERE NOT READILY AVAILABLE AND THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO CONSISTENTLY CALL THE DEALER TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS HAD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD BEEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED SINCE MAY 2011 TO NO AVAIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.
WE HAVE A 2005 F-150 FORD PICKUP. LATTER PART OF APRIL 2011 I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK THE TRUCK JUST SHUTS OFF. WILL NOT RESTART. HAVE IT TOWED TO THE GARAGE THEY SCANNED IT AND SAID THE FUEL PUMP AND THE FUEL MODULE NEEDED REPLACED. ORDER THE PARTS THROUGH FORD MOTOR COMPANY , CAN'T GET THEM ANYWHERE ELSE. DIDN'T RECEIVE THEM CALLED AGAIN AND PUT A RUSH ON THEM MAY 5TH, 2011. NEVER RECEIVED PARTS UNTIL IN JUNE 2011. WE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO FIND OUT WHY IT WAS TAKING SO LONG AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE ON BACK ORDER. WHEN WE FINALLY RECEIVED THEM THEY SAID THERE WAS 1600 SHIPPED OUT AND 4300 ON BACK ORDER. DONE SOME CHECKING AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE MANY, MANY MORE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. AFTER GETTING THE PARTS AND HAVING THEM INSTALLED NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON THE GARAGE SCANS IT AND NOW IN NEEDS A FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR AND GUESS WHAT NOBODY HAS ONE. 2005 FORD F-150 SPARK PLUGS FUSE TO ENGINE AND BREAK VERY EASILY. THE TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES AND WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A TUNE UP. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO REMOVE THE PLUGS AND THEY BROKE. THEY ARE NOW FORCED TO REMOVE THE HEADER AND REPLACE THE PLUGS. THIS IS NOW GOING TO COST $2600 FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURE PROVIDED PLUGS. *TR

THIS PAST MARCH, DURING A HEAVY SNOW STORM I TRIED TO ENGAGE MY 4 WHEEL DRIVE ON MY 2005 F150 AND IT WOULDN'T ENGAGE. SINCE THEN, I'VE NOTICED A NOISE COMING FROM MY RIGHT FRONT WHEEL (THAT'S SINCE PROGRESSED TO MY LEFT FRONT WHEEL). FOUND A TSB #06-8-15 THAT AFFECTS THE IWE SOLENOIDS ON 04-06 F150'S. REPLACED THE SOLENOID, AND STILL HAVE NOISE. NOW BEING TOLD BY A FORD MECHANIC THAT MY ACTUATOR HUBS ARE PROBABLY SHOT FROM WATER GETTING INTO THE OLD SOLENOID AND TRAVELING DOWN THE VACUUM HOSES TO THE HUBS. *TR

AUFFENBERG FORD O'FALLON (115 REGENCY PARK, O'FALLON, IL 62269, (618) 632-0090) REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AS WELL AS THE WIRING HARNESS ON MARCH 22, 2011, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED. ON MARCH 25, 2015, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE SAME PARTS, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED AGAIN AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR FLASHED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WERE ONLY REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR ONE TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I BOUGHT MY FORD F-150/V/8 IN 2005. SINCE 2005 I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL INJECTORS TO DATE (03/20/2011). I HAVE SPENT CLOSE TO $4,000.00 FOR PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM THE FUEL INJECTORS. ALTHOUGH FORD SENT OUT A LETTER DATED DECEMBER 2007, REFERENCING AND ACKNOWLEDGING PROBLEMS WITH THE INJECTORS STICKING OPEN/CLOSE. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS. AGAIN ALTHOUGH, FORD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON FUEL INJECTORS TOTALING 11 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES FROM THE START DATE. THE CUSTOMER PAYS FOR ALL OTHER PROBLEMS THAT OCCUR AS A RESULT OF THE DAMAGE THAT THE INJECTORS CAUSED. I EXPERIENCED TOO MUCH GAS IN THE ENGINE CAUSING A BENT ROD. INJECTORS STICKING OPEN AND CLOSED CAUSING SHUT DOWN OF THE ENGINE OR FAST ACCELERATION. I'M SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR MONIES SPENT FORM PROBLEMS THAT WERE CAUSE BY THE FUEL INJECTORS. FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE IS SUBJECT TO CORROSION DUE TO LOCATION. I WAS DRIVING UP HILL ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY 2005 F150 STALLED. I LOST ALL POWER, POWER STEERING, BRAKES. I WAS NEARLY KILLED WHEN THE SEMI BEHIND ME COULD NOT STOP IN TIME DUE TO THE FAILURE OF FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. THANKFULLY I WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO FORCE THE TRUCK TO THE SHOULDER AND STOP DESPITE HAVING NO POWER BRAKES OR STEERING WHILE TOWING A 6000 LB TRAILER. AFTER PAYING FOR A TOW FOR MY TRUCK AND TRAILER I FIND HUNDREDS OF REPORTS DEALING WITH THE FAULTY PLACEMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE ONLINE. AT THE REPAIR SHOP I WAS AMAZED BY THE EXTENT OF THE CORROSION. THERE WAS BARELY ANYTHING LEFT OF THE MODULE. THE PART WAS REPLACED WITH THE SAME FAULTY CONTROLLER DUE TO A BACKORDER FROM FORD BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS SO WIDE SPREAD. I ALMOST DIED DUE TO A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO OCCUR. *TR

THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE TIRE WAS GOING FLAT AND ADDED MORE AIR. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL TIRE SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL WAS FRACTURED. THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE TIRE WITH A SPARE AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,148 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,200.

HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALER; $150 TO REMOVE THE PLUG PLUS $29 PARTS AND LABOR. PLUG HAS A DESIGN FLAW THAT FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT SINCE AT LEAST 1997. FOR MOST TRITON EGNINE OWNERS, YOU FIND OUT THE HARD WAY WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON OR WHEN YOU GO IN FOR A TUNE UP; MINIMUM COST $150; FOR EVERY BROKEN PLUG - $150 TO REMOVE IT; IF IT CAN NOT BE REMOVED, THE ENGINE AND/OR FRONT END HAS TO BE PULLED (PER FORD REPAIR BULLETIN) TO REMOVE THE HEAD(S). COST: $1,000 - $3,000. MOST VEHICLES ARE "OUT OF WARRANTY" BY THIS TIME WHICH FORD THEN DISMISSES AS NOT A "WARRANTY PROBLEM" BUT RATHER A "SERVICE ISSUE". THE DEALERSHIPS MAKE A KILLING OFF THE CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF AN INEPT, INCOMPETENTLY DESIGNED SPARK PLUG. 2005 F150 GOES INTO "FAIL SAFE MODE" AND SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. IT ONLY OCCURRED ONCE PER YEAR STARTING AT 65,000 MILES, BUT NOW HAPPENS EVERY 3-4 WEEKS AT 114,000 MILES. ONCE THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN, I PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL WHILE COASTING AND IT RESTARTS EASILY. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES FOR 3-4 DAYS AND THEN TURNS OFF. WE HAVE HAD 3 ACTUATORS ON OUR WINDOWS IN OUR FORD F-150 GO OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WE ALMOST HAD A VERY BAD ACCIDENT WHEN THE LAST ONE "EXPLODED". TRUCK HAS ONLY BEEN WORKED ON BY DEALER FOR OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. TURNED INTO SOMEONE'S YARD AND DROVE TILL TRUCK STOPPED ON ITS OWN BEFORE TRYING TO MAKE IT GO HOME. I COULD HAVE HURT SOMEONE OR MYSELF IF I HAD NOT BEEN A SKILLED DRIVER.I TRIED TO TELL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE PART CHECKED OUT FOR DEFECT BUT THEY SAID IT JUST BLOWS A SEAL AT ANYTIME. WHILE ENTERING AN ON RAMP TO GET ONTO THE FREEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE NEXT THING I KNOW, THE WINDOW IS DOWN AND I CANNOT ROLL IT BACK UP. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I'VE TOLD THEM NOT TO LET THE WINDOW DOWN (THEY DO IT ANYWAY) AND THEN I HAVE TO WASTE MORE TIME HAVING THEM MANUALLY ROLL THE WINDOW BACK UP IN HOPES THAT IT WILL STAY UP. THEN, ABOUT A YEAR LATER, THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS NOW FALLEN DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! MY 2005 FORD F150 QUIT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 12 YR OLD SON. ENGINE BEGAN TO SPIT AND SPUTTER AND STRANDED US ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER TOWING TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER. THE DEALER DISCOVERED THE TIMING CHAIN HAD SLIPPED CAUSING THE TRUCK TO JUMP TIME AND RUINING THE ENGINE. THE TRUCK HAS 130,000 HIGHWAY MILES. NOW THEY WANT $7,500 FOR A NEW ENGINE. THE OTHER ISSUE IS MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL INTO THE DOOR. THEY WANT BETWEEN 200 AND 300 DOLLARS TO REPAIR.
