November 17, 2021 the Ford service writer at Bolton Ford in Lake Charles Louisiana State told me he could not rotate my tires do to faulty Lugnuts,I asked the gentleman well what am I supposed to do he said replace the log nugs for around $150 which he only had six in stock, apparently there is a problem with this and Ford should make it good.
Swolen lug nuts cannot be removed
Cooper Discovery A/T 275/55R20 . The tire is splitting apart on the sidewall. Driver's side left front tire is splitting apart and passenger right rear is also splitting apart. Consulted with a mechanic he said this was extremely dangerous. WARN EVERYONE. This could blow out causing a horrible wreck even death. Purchased the tires from Walmart on 6-17-2021. . Took the truck to Walmart. Walmart told me to return tomorrow because they didn't have anyone there that could make a decision. Please check your tires. These tires have only been installed on my truck for 52 days. Inspect your tires. Research tire companies before you purchase tires. I thought Cooper was a good tire. I was wrong. After I realized my tires had started splitting on the sidewall earlier. Today. I knew this was serious. Googled Cooper tire splitting. Cooper tire has had many incidents in the past with this type issue..Reading this will hopefully save someone from serious injury or death.
WHILE DRIVING, I EXPERIENCED ALMOST COMPLETE SIDEWALL SEPARATION FROM STEERING DRIVERS SIDE TIRE: BRAND- DELINTE LT 275/65R18 BANDIT TIRE. THE TIRE HAD OVER 5/32 OF TREAD STILL LEFT. THE OTHER THREE TIRES ARE ABOUT THE SAME TREAD DEPTH; HOWEVER, THEY ARE THE SAME BRAND AND MAKE. THERE IS A RECALL OF A SIMILAR BRAND TIRE: RECALL # 2750 SENTURY TIRES.
I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY COULDN'T ROTATE MY TIRES BECAUSE I HAVE SWOLLEN LUGS WHICH I UNDERSTAND IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD VEHICLES BETWEEN 2005 AND 2015. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD NEED TO BUY NEW ONES AND THAT IF I HAD A FLAT TIRE THE JACK THAT COMES WITH THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE THESE LUGS.
LUCKILY I WAS NOT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT HAVING WORKED FOR FORD THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND HAS NOW HAPPENED TO BOTH OF MY FORD TRUCKS. FORD MAKES LUG NUTS WITH ALUMINUM CASINGS THAT AFTER 1-5 USES BECOME SWOLLEN AND MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE LUG NUTS FROM VEHICLE ESPECIALLY IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION WHICH COULD RESULT IN SOMEONE TAKING MORE TIME THAN NEEDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD STRUGGLING TO BREAK SAID LUG NUTS LOOSE AND WILL RESULT IN SOMEONE BEING STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE.. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR 10 + YEARS. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS REPLACING THESE LUG NUTS. MULTIPLE OF WHICH HAD TO BE CUT OFF BY MECHANICS. PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE STUDS, WHICH ALSO SNAPPED OFF. THE CONTACT SAFELY COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND REPLACED THE TWENTY FOUR STUDS ON ALL THE WHEELS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
I TOOK MY FORD F150 TO THE DEALER FOR A ROUTINE OIL AND TIRE ROTATION. THE SERVICE REP CAME TO ME AND SAID THAT IT WILL TAKE A LITTLE LONGER FOR SERVICE BECAUSE YOUR LUG NUTS ARE SWELLING. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT I SHOULD PURCHASE NEW LUG NUTS BECAUSE A SPECIAL DEALER TOOL IS NEEDED TO REMOVE THE SWELLED LUG NUT. IF I HAVE A FLAT TIRE, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE IT DO TO THE SWELLED LUG NUTS WHICH WOULD REQUIRE A TOW TO A FORD DEALER. FORD KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE LUGNUTS SWELLING, WHICH IS WHY THEY HAVE A SPECIAL TOOL. THE SERVICE REP STATED THAT I COULD PURCHASE LUGNUTS FROM FORD AND WOULD BE CHARGED $500.00 FOR THE REPAIR. THE PROPER LUGNUTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS BUILT. THIS TO ME IS A SAFETY HAZARD WITH A POSSIBLE FUTURE ROADSIDE ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
FROM DISCOUNT TIRE CO, I PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES ON FEBRUARY 5, 2018 TODAY, TREAD IS NOW BELOW THE LEGAL FOR SAFETY WITH ONLY 23,909 MILES ON THE TIRE. I WENT TO THE SAME DEALER LOCATION THAT PUT THE TIRES ON( LIVINGSTON, TEXAS) TO RECEIVE TERMS OF THE CERTIFICATE OR WARRANTY THEY DID NOT WANT TO HONOR EITHER WARRANTY FOR REPLACEMENT WITHOUT ME NEEDING TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL 400.00 . I AM WANTING TO RETURN MY TIRES SINCE OBVIOUSLY THIS IS EITHER A DEFECTIVE TIRE OR ONE OF BELOW AVERAGE QUALITY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHO STATED THAT A HIGH RADIO FREQUENCY HAD CAUSED THE ELECTRONICS TO FAIL IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

I PURCHASE A NEW 2010 FORD F-150XLT IN APRIL, 2010. THE TRUCK CAME WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER SRA TIRES. TWO OF THE TIRES LOST A GREAT DEAL OF TREAD BETWEEN 16500 AND 18000 MILES, NECESSITATING ALL FOUR TIRES BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED MY FORD DEALER AND GOODYEAR AND THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THE GOODYEAR WRANGLER SRA TIRES ARE BACKORDERED AND HAD TO PURCHASE GOODYEAR WRANGLER ADVENTURE ALL SEASON TIRES. THE TECHNICIANS AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME THEY HAVE SEEN EXCESSIVE WEAR ON MANY OTHER OF THE WRANGLER SRA TIRES. I RECEIVED A PRORATED ALLOWANCE FOR THE NEW TIRES; BUT DO TIRES ONLY LAST 18000 MILES NOW. MY PREVIOUS F-150 TIRES HAD OVER 60000 MILES ON THEM AND HAD MORE TREAD THAN MY 2010 F-150. THERE HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS TIRE AND I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY ANYTHING FOR THE REPLACEMENT TIRES. *TR

I HAVE A 2010 FORD F-150. IT HAS PIRELLI TIRES ON IT. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS NEVER CALLING ME BACK WHEN I CALLED THEM.AFTER I E-MAILED FORD THE SEVICE MANAGER CALLED ME BACK AND ASKED ME TO BRING THE TRUCK IN. I DID AND HE LOOKED AT THE TIRES AND SAID HE COULD NOT DO ANYTHING.I E-MAILED FORD AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE TRUCK HAD MORE THAN 12'000 MILES ON IT. THE TRUCK HAD 14.000 MILES.THERE WARRANTY BOOK SAYS THEY WILL PRO-RATE THE TIRES AFTER 12,000 MILES.I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN NOT GO BY THE WARRANTY. THE TIRE PRESSURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TPMS) HAS A DEFECT IN IT THAT CAUSES THE SYSTEM TO MALFUNCTION AND GIVE BOGUS WARNINGS. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO LOCAL DEALER 3 TIMES TO FIX. THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF FREQUENTLY ENOUGH WHERE IT CAN CAUSE A CONSUMER TO IGNORE AN ACTUAL TIRE PRESSURE FAILURE. A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A BIG ENOUGH ISSUE THAT THERE ARE MANY MESSAGE BOARDS DISCUSSING THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE OCCURS MOST FREQUENTLY AFTER DRIVING 20-25 MILES ON A DAY WHERE THERE HAS BEEN A TEMPERATURE CHANGE OF ABOUT 20 DEGREES OR WHEN IT IS RAINING. THE WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON AT LEAST 30 TIMES IN THE 6 MONTHS THAT I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE TIRE PRESSURES HAVE BEEN CHECKED NUMEROUS TIMES BY THE DEALER. THE COMPUTER HAS BEEN RESET BY THE DEALER. THEY CANNOT FIND OR DO NOT WANT TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
