The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 40 MPH, the power steering failed with the "Service Advance trac" message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the brake pedal and the turn signals failed to operate as needed. The contact's husband used excessive force to steer the vehicle back to the residence. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with an electrical failure that could only be repaired by an authorized Ford dealer. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where he was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The contact was also given an estimate for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was towed back to her residence and was not repaired. The failure mileage was 185,516.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at speeds above 45 MPH, the transmission would erroneously shift to 5th gear and remain seized in 5th gear. During the failure, the check engine warning light and wrench warning lights were illuminated. The contact indicated that while disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, the vehicle would operate as normal but eventually, the failure would reoccur. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the shift solenoid but the failure persisted. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 118,000.
I constantly get a "Please remove objects near passenger seat" warning and the airbag light goes on. It happens when anyone is in the seat and also sometimes when it is vacant. No one will admit there is a problem.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while reversing out of a parking space, the Back Over Prevention camera failed to display an image, causing the vehicle to crash into another vehicle. The other vehicle was damaged. There was no injury sustained. A Police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under recall. The failure mileage was 130,000. The VIN was not available.
Engine underpowered/turbo under boost: had this issue numerous times with the original engine (which failed at just over 85k miles). I've put less than 5k on the current replacement engine and it's happening again. This is especially concerning when merging into interstate traffic. Second issue: backup camera starting malfunctioning intermittently shortly after purchasing. It displays an error message 90% of the time. When it does display the image is backwards.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle would not immediately start. Additionally, while driving at undisclosed speeds, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The contact replaced the cam sensors and fuses, but the failure persisted. The contact later discovered that the fuel pump relay had melted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer informed the contact that a fuse box relocation kit was needed to resolve the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned that the manufacturer was aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 230,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle went into Limp Mode with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to safely move the vehicle to the shoulder of the road before the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A certified mechanic informed the contact that he was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure had been reoccurring for a year. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
Premature failure of left front coil spring with approximately 103,000 miles on truck.. Spring is still not repaired. I believe the broken state of this spring could have steering and handling implications to both this vehicle and others under certain conditions while operating vehicle on rough roadways, especially pothole laden ones. This spring failure was brought to my attention by may local Ford dealer during a routine inspection. I reported the premature failure to Ford Motor Company during a detailed chat session on line and also a detailed letter mailed to Ford. My only warning was when my dealer reported it to me. I did some online research and this seems to a fairly common occurrence. I also believe Ford is aware that this problem is related to inferior material and or workmanship of these coil springs, with the spring coating being related to the premature failure.
Power steering is locking up
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated driving 65-67 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that oil had leaked onto the driver's side turbo and oxygen sensor. Additionally, coolant had leaked onto passenger's side turbo and oxygen sensor. The dealer also diagnosed that the vacuum pump and the rear main cover were leaking. The dealer diagnosed that the driver's side and the passenger's side turbos needed to be replaced along with the oxygen sensors. The dealer also diagnosed that other repair needed to be completed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 131,300.
Lead frame issue. Shifted from 5th to 1st at 60 mph.
Brakes went out in a school zone. Brake went straight to the floor. Could have killed a kid. I do have a 2014 model so it’s odd mine wasn’t part of the recall
Brakes started grinding and a fluid like substance was coming out. Took it in for a check and brake pad had came off and caliper had busted and was leaking brake fluid.
Took vehicle in for service for oil change and balance/rotation. Shop advised that lug nuts were swollen and had trouble removing them and they need to be replaced. Research has shown that this is a known issue with Ford and there has even been litigation filed against Ford regarding this issue, but I could not locate a recall campaign.
The studs for the exhaust manifolds rusted away and the exhaust is now leaking into the passenger compartment and bypassing all emissions systems. This is a common problem with Ford F150s. Ford has since changed the alloy used in the studs to prevent this from happening.
Truck shifts from 6th gear to 1st gear while driving at speeds of 60-70 mph for no apparent reason. Then sticks in 5th and barely moves. I can't drive it, it's dangerous. The part is out of stock everywhere I look. I can't get it fixed. It has 76000 miles on it. It's the only vehicle I own and it is worthless as of now. I can't trade it in because of the issue, can't drive it either. Ford should extend the recall. I have the same 6r80 transmission, with the same faulty part as the lead frame recalls for the 09-13 models. I am 1 month past the cutoff line for the original list. This is crazy, you can buy a truck with the same dangerous issue and it's not being fixed by Ford.
34 degree morning at around 8 AM. Used my remote start, and had the vehicle running for a few minutes. Got into my vehicle and the passenger side rear glass (sliding rear windshield) was shattered.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission would randomly downshift causing the vehicle to abruptly loose motive power. Additionally, while driving the vehicle would experience hard shifting. During the failure the check engine and service vehicle warning lights were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who examined the vehicle but found no failure. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 124,000.
The contact's husband owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the power steering assist failed to operate as needed without warning. The contact stated that excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle after each failure. The dealer had yet to be notified of the failure. The contact attempted to notify the manufacturer but was unsuccessful. Upon investigation, the contact linked The failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (STEERING). The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
1. ford recall program 19N01does not extend to 2014-f150 vehicles equipped with R680 transmission with DTC code 0720 as the trouble. 2. safety is greatly put at risk as the vehicles suddenly and without warning downshifts to 2nd gear at high speeds. this is a tragedy just waiting to happen. 3. yes 3 times 4. yes twice 5. yes wrench light and code P0720 truck is 100% unsafe to drive. p[problem is a year old and part has been on order for 11 months
The rear window in my F150 has rear defrost with a power sliding window. The glass panel on the drivers side has spontaneously shattered two time. Once in October 2020 and again in April 2022. On both occasions the glass was spiderwebbed but had not fallen out. There was no indication that the glass had any physical damage from the exterior or interior. Also, the vehicle had been parked the first time while at home and the second time while at work.
I was driving on highway at 65 miles per hour when my truck suddenly downshifted to first gear and stopped it took a secknds to get the truck going again. I was almost rear ended it was very heart stopping. I dont know why there was a recall on just the 2011-2013 Trucks. My vehicle was built at the Deerfield MI plant same as the others just November of 2013 instead of October 2013 when they closed out the recall. I tried to get it analyzed by a Ford dealership but they gave no appointments for over month out in May! I need my vehicle for work. I'm an essential employee with USPS. Luckily I am close to my office and can take back roads, I can not drive this on the highway! They need to recall all vehicles built at the 2 plants straight through 2013 thus is very dangerous and now I will have to go to my mechanic and if recall does come through. I certainly hoe Ford will honor repair costs done at a non dealership ad I cant get an appointment for over a month!!
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the transmission malfunctioned and downshifted to 2nd gear. The contact stated that the engine control warning light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle home and called the dealer. The vehicle was driven to the dealer but was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000.
Whe the truck was started to allow the interior to warm up, the back glass shattered. Happened at 50 degrees outside temp with defrost on.
My truck appeared to down shift into first gear while driving 50 mph. The RPMs soared and i temporarily lost control of the vehicle and my body slammed forward. Luckily, no other vehicle was adjacent to mine otherwise people could have been severely injured. The event occurred again 5 minutes later. Initial symptoms were an instance where there was no dashboard feedback from my rpm, speedometer and information area. Recall appears to only apply to 2011-2013 model vehicles. Mine is a 2014 however it was manufactured in dearborne in 2013 and the recall applies to f150s manufactured there through October of 2013. Subject part not available and cannot get repaired through the dealer for multiple weeks Failure code of speed sensor in the lead frame was identified by an independent service center
March 13th. I was driving on County Road 6, south of Park Rapids, Minnesota, and noticed smoke coming from my coat laying on the passenger seat, I removed the coat and found smoke/flames coming out of the passenger seat. I stopped the truck, ran around to the door of the passenger seat, turned off the seat warmer, and put the fire out. The seat warmer failed and is available for inspection. I have disconnected the seat warmer. March 15th. I brought the vehicle to North Country Ford service Manager and they did not know how to report it, didn't seem to think it was serious, and wanted me to pay $144 for them to look at it. March 16th called Ford Corporate. They started a case #CAS35878378 with Chelse David.
I turned on my defroster this morning, to defrost my rear window and mirrors. I heard a loud bang got out to look around to see if someone hit me, noticed that my driver side rear window had completely shattered
Submitting another complaint about this issue. 2014 F-150 SuperCrew 3.5L TT with 6 speed transmission. Was driving with my whole family in the car yesterday, 03/06/22. Truck started hesitating again, RPMs went crazy, MPH gauge freaked out. I shifted into neutral before the truck would go into a skid like it did the other day. Put the truck back into drive and it was fine. Turned around and took our other vehicle. This thing is a death trap. Recall the 2014 model year now. I've found several others online with 2014 model year with the same issue.
I was driving today, around 60 MPH, with my parents in the truck. All of a sudden my truck slammed into a lower gear, skidded the tires, and everyone was thrown forward in the vehicle. I almost lost control. I know there is a recall for the 2011-2013 Ford F-150 for this, but NOT the 2014 model year (mine). This is the second time it's happened where it's skidded the tires, and it's happened at least half a dozen other times where it hasn't skidded. This WILL cause an accident in time and this IS an issue with other 2014s that I've read about online. Today I was lucky there was nobody behind me or it would have caused a rear-end collision. This needs resolved NOW. I have a wife and three kids that also ride in this vehicle, it's our main family vehicle.
We have experienced 2 incidents where a wrench appears on the screen followed by a complete loss of acceleration. The first incident occurred while on the highway driving 65 MPH, we made it over to the side of the highway, shut the vehicle off and restarted after about 1-2 minutes. We were able to make it home without another incident. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they could not find any error codes. I had a tune-up done before the second incident occurred. We were traveling 40 MPH on a very narrow curvy road during the second incident and were extremely fortunate to clear the corner with just enough room to get the truck off the side of the road before coming to a complete stop. Just as before a wrench appears on the screen. We shut the truck off and restarted it after 1-2 minutes and was able to make it home without another incident.
On two separate occasions while driving at normal operating speed (30-40 MPH) the yellow wrench icon appeared (which I researched and found it deals with the throttle body) and I lost my speedometer, odometer, distance to empty, airbag light illuminated, and vehicle had little to no acceleration. I believe it might have something to do with the lead frame on the transmission.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle downshifted from 5th to 1st gear inadvertently. In addition, the rear wheels seized without warning. The vehicle was restarted and was driven in third gear at a slow speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the solenoid needed to be replaced. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the advanced track steering, hill track control, and steering assists warning lights illuminated and the vehicle suddenly lost powering steering functionality. The contact was able to manually steer the vehicle and drive the vehicle to his residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The mechanic notified the contact of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000. My truck was built only 2 weeks from the recall dates. My mechanic stated that my computer noted the steering rack was a recall part. Attached is an image of his scan tool that noted the part was under recall.
I bought this truck 2 and a half years ago and from day one it has been nothing but trouble. I was sold a lemon I have spend God knows how much on this truck and now it sits in the yard with a cracked turbo, electrical issues and transmission problems that I've been told has been a problem along time and I'd have to agree. Within the first 3 months of owning the truck it was in the shop 3 or 4 times. I had all kinds of warranty's added to my loan that I wasn't aware of and I've tried having the issue handled but Ford dealership will not tdo anything about it. I still over over 20,000 dollars on this truck I don't know if you can help but if you can I'd greatly appreciate it. I've had numerous sensors replaced, cv joints replaced, a arms replaced, wheel bearings, catalytic converters, ball joints, brake calipers, brake lines, struts, purge valve, engine mount, fuel pump twice, and I'm sure there's more alot of this was in the first not even year.
DRIVER SIDE BACK GLASS SHATTERED DUE TO WINDOW DEFROST ON REMOTE START UP. HEATING ELEMENT IN GLASS SHORTED OUT, ARCED, BEGAN SMOKING AND SHATTERED THE GLASS.
Rear, 3 piece window with center slider, driver side window shattered with no incident or impact. Online research suggested possible rear window defrost malfunction.
Unknown. Rear window suddenly shattered cause may be from defroster system. I’ve been reading several other drivers having the same issue with their rear window suddenly shattering when having the defroster running
Advanctrac service warning came up. Got Codes run they showed the EAPS had a fault. It locked up the power steering while driving down the road and cut off all electrical components in the vehicle.

Vehicle down shifted from 6th gear to 1st gear, while going 70. Rear tires locked up and slide. Vehicle repeat the issue after a brief stop on the side of road to check for broken parts and determining there was nothing visually broken and no warning lights, error codes, or weird sounds when cranked. Pulled vehicle over and called for a trailer. Trailered vehicle to residence. Found where Ford has a recall for similar event in the 2011-13 models related to OSS and PCM.
Truck has the heated 3 piece power rear window. I used the remote start on the truck while parked in an open detached garage while outdoor temperature was +5 degrees Fahrenheit. After approximately 10 minutes of warmup time I approached the truck and the driver side section of the glass made a exploding sound. The window stayed in place but was shattered into thousands of small pieces. It only takes a few moments of internet searching to easily see that this is a know problem that has happened to over a thousand Ford F150 owners of simular years to mine 2014. When "remote start" is used the Rear Window defrost system automatically engages. There is a manufacturing or design flaw in the window or defrost control system on these Trucks. I was visiting my Mother in Wauwatosa WI 53226 when this incident occurred.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The failure was intermittent. Consumer stated cutoff for the recall vehicle is October 28.2013. Transmission is down shifting and speed sensor fails, trouble code P 0720 light came on. Consumer's Ford is a 11/13 Model and manufacturer will not honor this recall.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the transmission suddenly downshifted into first gear, and the contact almost lost control of the vehicle. Additionally, the speedometer was not functioning properly. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and diagnosed that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The VIN was invalid.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH on the highway, the vehicle shifted down to 1st gear, and the tires locked up. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The mechanic had repaired the PCM and the vehicle speed sensor. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 147,047. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED AFTER THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO LIMP MODE AT APPROXIMATELY 150 DEGREES. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR AT A STOP LIGHT, BUT WHEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE OPERATES AS DESIGNED.
During commute to work this morning I heard what sounded like a rock hit the top of my truck. Seemed strange since I was on Highway 101 and not under anything. Later I noticed that the rear window on the driver’s side was spidered completely throughout. Internet search suggested this was just one of many times Ford F-150 trucks have had this happen, but no recall has been issued. Not happy as this repair will be approximately $750 of my hard earned money Had I been transporting one of my family members in the back it could have been worse.
