Lost brakes at the same time the low Brake Fuid warning light came on. Was able to slow down by shifting the automatic transmission into a lower gear and using the Emergency Brake. The the fluid in the Brake Fluid reservoir was empty. I refilled the Brake Fluid reservoir up to the full line. It Brake warning light was off so I decided to try to make it back home. About 2 uses of the brakes and they failed completely again as I used the same method of stopping the truck as I did before when I found a safe place to get off the road. After having it towed to my house I pulled the Master Cylinder off the Brake Booster and the Booster was full of Brake Fluid. The rear seal of the Master Cylinder had completely failed. The issue is the same issue as on the other 2 recalls on 2014 Ford F150 Ecoboost and the other 2014 Ford F150 with the rear seal on the Brake Master Cylinder failing which allows the Brake Fluid to be pumped into the Brake Booster instead of the Brake Calipers. If they used the same Brake Master Cylinder on the 5.0 Liter F150 as they did on the recalled F150s, then they need to recall these also.
Brakes failed after I had driven and parked the truck. Brakes worked normal. Cranked up and went to drive away and brake warning light illuminates. Applied brakes and pedal goes to the floor. Opened hood, Master cylinder empty. It’s looks like the Brake Master cylinder suddenly failed. Luckily it happened when I was starting off.
Car downshifting into first gear at random while driving causing instant loss of power, braking due to gear change and high revving of engine. When it occurs at highway speed it nearly causes my truck to stop and will not shift into proper gear. Truck continues to rev at nearly 6-7 thousand rpm and puts stress on transmission and motor. Terrifying to be behind the wheel when this occurs
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH and hauling a trailer, the wrench service light suddenly illuminated and moments later the transmission erroneously down shifted into 1st gear, causing the speed to abruptly reduce and the driver to nearly lose control of the steering. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the powertrain control module was faulty and needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 75,000.
We received a low brake fluid light on the dash. I verified the low level was legit by inspecting the brake fluid reservoir, which was indeed empty. I filled the reservoir with DOT 4, I drove approximately 2 miles, and received the low level brake fluid alarm again. I drove approximately 17 miles until I could get more DOT 4, during this 17 miles I used the trailer brakes to stop as I had no Ford F-150 braking. I filled the reservoir with more DOT 4 and drove 2.5 hours home, with the low fluid level alarm in due my master cylinder and booster continuously leaking… the truck got turned in the Bill Brandt Ford where they found a leaking master cylinder and broken booster.
The vehicle has been having recurring issues with limp mode roughly 5-10 mins after cold start. Wrench lamp lights and vehicle loses all power and has no throttle response. This is becoming a weekly occurring issue. This is extremely dangerous because it could be while at highway speed, in heavy traffic and put the driver and passengers at risk of accident. If vehicle can be safely limped to the shoulder and turned off, vehicle starts back up with no issues after being shut down for a few minutes. Two different Ford dealers have inspected and no codes or service messages are stored so unsure of the precise issue. One recommended changing the throttle body ($600 repair) while the other checked tsb 17-0026 and was unable to remedy or repair.
Vehicle was on & operating for 20 minutes and after traveling 1-2 miles all of the sudden smoke came from engine compartment. Pulled over immediately, and turned vehicle off when a full fledged fire began in the engine block on passenger side. Ran into gas station and used a fire extinguisher to get fire under control. 911/Fire Dept was contacted and hosed down hood, engine compartment. Analysis showed the source of the fire was from the passenger side hood accent light (factory installed) short circuited and was the origin of the fire.
When driving on the highway going about 50 mph, my speedometer dropped to zero, back up to 35, back to 10, then back to 50 and the truck violently downshifted into 2nd gear, back to 4th, back to 2nd and then back to 5th. It happed again this morning going about 30 mph. It dropped to about 15, back to 25, down to 15, hard shift and the back to 35mph. I have a short video of it happening but can't attach.
I bought my 2014 Ford F150 3.5 L truck new from Livermore, CA Ford. At 24,158 miles I received a recall for a brake master cylinder failure notice. Ford repaired the brake system under 16S24. At 64,018 June 2021 as I was driving out of my church parking lot I stepped on the brakes and pedal went to the floor. No other indicator. I checked online and found the Ford recall. I had not remembered that they already fixed it. When I took it to the dealer they said I would have to pay because there was no recall on it. I guess when they fixed it the first time they took my VIN off of the list. I could have killed someone because the failure was immediate. I paid over $1000 for the repair and contacted Ford. They said too bad, that there is no recall. I have been a mechanic over 60 years and never had to replace a master cylinder. Then my new modern F150 has it fail twice in 3 years? I tried to file a complaint with Ford and they told me no. That with no recall too bad. I love my truck but this dangerous situation should not be allowed.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the brakes failed. When the contact attempted to move the vehicle out of the park position the brake pedal failed to engage, the brake pedal became hard to move. The contact stated that the vehicle had to be moved by reversing the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer performed a diagnostic that located the failure code at the brake booster and the master cylinder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20v332000 (service brakes hydraulic). The failure mileage was 83,000.
On 6-20-2021 the brakes failed on my 2014 Ford F150 3.5 V6 Ecoboost engine almost causing an accident. I found two recall notices but my VIN number was not listed. I took the vehicle to Ford in Livermore, CA and had it repaired. I then contacted Ford and I have a case number. I then went through all my maintenance history and found that there was actually a recall in 2017 with my VIN number. Apparently I did take the vehicle in and it was repaired. The recall was then deleted on my truck because it was repaired. Now in 2021 the same problem happened again. A master cylinder is a pretty simple part and should not fail this often. I will follow up on this with Ford.....
there are two safety recalls on 2014 Ford F150 brake master cylinder failures. My VIN is not on the recall list but I have the exact same problem as they have. My brakes failed and I almost ran into a cross street with traffic. I have the vehicle in the shop now and they say if I am not on their recall list they can not help. My vehicle is the same year, same model, same engine etc. so I am confused. This is definetely a safety concern. Will be interesting how many other vehicles like mine have the same problem.o
while driving on the freeway my 2014 ford f150 suddenly downshifted from 6th gear to 1st gear causing my rear wheels to lock up and having the steering wheel jerk to the left. the car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me from behind since the trucks wheels locked up with no brake lights. this has been the 8th time this has happened. each time i take it to ford for them to check it out they tell me they can not duplicate the issue. the wrench light comes on and it throws codes and ford will do nothing to fix it.
on several occasions while driving at 50+ mph my truck suddenly downshifts from 6th gear to 1st gear causing the rear wheels to lock up and skid. i have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they refuse to do anything because they can not duplicate the issue. this has happened several times the last time was on the freeway causing me to shoot over 2 lanes of traffic almost causing an accident. the ford dealership and the extended warranty company ameriplus both refuse to help because they both say that they can not duplicate the problem but the vehicle comes up with dtc codes p0731 and p0722
while driving my vehicle it suddenly downshifts from 6th gear to 1st gear causing the rear wheels to lock up.
while driving at highway speeds my truck suddenly down shifts from gear 6 to 1. while downshifting the wheels lock up causing them to skid and as a result the steering wheel pulls left. i have almost crashed 2 times. it has happened several times. i see that the same issues were happening on the 2012 and 2013 models and they were issued recalls to get the problem fixed. why not on the 2014 models which is the same truck
Hydraulic brake control unit, mileage of truck is 47438 when diagnosed. Possibly brake failure, ABS failure and downhill control fault. Confirmed by dealer, 5/24/2021. Was confirmed by Johnson City TN Ford technician. Yes, service advanced trac warning, hill descent control fault, then brake fault with all brake warning lights lit (ABS, parking and brake) No access to scanner but have paper copy of invoice
Brake failure due to broken brake line. The hard metal brake line that runs from the distribution line on the ABS unit to the front drivers side brake came in contact with the steering linkage rubbing a hole in it. I have notified Ford customer care and my local dealer and they do not wish to take care of the issue. This posses a huge safety concern.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle suddenly entered LIMP Mode and began to decelerate, lost motive power, and stalled. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who eventually replaced the throttle body, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that recently the failure had reoccurred, the throttle body was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
Usually on a daily basis and with no correlation to current speed, constant speed, acceleration, decelleration, road surface (highway, city or country) or any other symptoms: suddenly the vehicle bucks violently (feels like it shifts to first gear) while the speedometer either stutters momentafily or drops to 0 MPH. The Tach and other instrument seem to work OK, except that the SEAT BELTWARNING light comes ON (no warning bell, just the instrument panel light) and the display loses all mileage-relayed information (e.g., trip A and B indicators show dashes instead of miles, etc), On occasion, a wrench icon appears on the window that normally shows current mileage. I have researched these symptoms and discovered identical descriptions reported for the F150 which resulted in a recall of something like 20,000 f150's up to year 2013. It looks like the recall problem extends to my 2014 F150 and I would like to know the basis for my vehicle being excluded when it clearly has the same symptoms. I am planning a trip to Vancouver, BC and Colorado, USA to have my vehicle repaired, but the Service Shop advises that the repair parts are not available nationwide because of the above-mentioned recall. As I tow a 5000+ lbs trailer, it is clear that the combined vehicle + trailer combo cannot safely operate with this defect in place.
THE FUSE BLOCK OVERHEATS AND MELTS AT FUSE #27. THIS FUSE CONTROLS THE FUEL SYSTEM. MY TRUCK SHUT OFF IN TRAFFFIC AT RUSH HOUR AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. FORD KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE AND THEY HAVE NOT PUBLICLY POSTED THE FIX FOR IT AND THEY CHARGE FOR THE FIX THAT THEY KNOW IS AN ISSUE ON THEIR PART. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A DEFECT ON THEIR SIDE?
WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC! MY BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SOFT THEN THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF ANY BRAKING. I DID CHECK FOR A RECALL BUT WAS TOLD EVEN THOUGH THERE IS IN FACT A RECALL FOR THE ISSUE MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF IT.
Truck looses power and throttle response when accelerating into traffic or driving on the highway. My vehicle was nearly hit from behind when faster moving vehicles came upon it. And almost caused a head on collision do to vehicles driving around me. This has happened several times. Vehicle has a pending code p2112 but if ignition is turned off code does not store in vehicle computer. Took vehicle to Ford dealership but was told nothing could be done to repair the vehicle since the code wasn’t stored in the computer

MY TRUCK DIED, I THEN JUMPED IT AND IT WAS STUCK IN 5TH GEAR AND I DROVE HOME AND SEARCHED IT SO I RESTARTED IT AND IT WAS FIXED. IT HAS TO DO WITH THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE P0720 OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR. WENT IN LIMP-MODE WHILE DRIVING, THEN HAD NO POWER. SPEEDOMETER AND MOST OF THE DASH INDICATORS QUIT. HAD TO STOP AND START THE VEHICLE TWICE TO RESET. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. RECALL COVERS 2011-2013. MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN 2013, BUT DEALERS REFUSE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM UNDER RECALL.

FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED YESTERDAY 4/17/21 WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES AM HOUR THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT UP FROM FIRST GEAR, OR IT INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE AND IT WORKED LIKE NORMAL. TODAY 4/18/21 I'VE HAD TWO INCIDENTS, THE FIRST WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH THE VEHICLE DROPPED DOWN TO 2ND GEAR, RAPIDLY SLOWING. I SHOWED TO FIRST GEAR, PUT INTO NEUTRAL AND BACK TO DRIVE AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65-70 MPH MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM 6TH TO 2ND GEAR, DECELERATING EXTREMELY QUICKLY. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO AN EXIT AND PUT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE AND THE TRANSMISSION RESUMED LIKE NORMAL. THIS IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE FACT THIS VEHICLE IS MY DAILY DRIVER AND I USUALLY HAVE MY KIDS IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. IM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF DRIVING NOW ESPECIALLY AFTER LEARNING THIS EXACT ISSUE WAS RECALLED ON THE VEHICLES A YEAR BEFORE MINE WITH THREE SAME 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION, BUT NOT ON MY YEAR.
This is our 2nd time reporting this back 4 years ago our vehicle downshifted suddenly. Causing our vehicle to drop speed tremendously. We called the dealership to let them know what happened and they said they have had several complaints at the time of these trucks doing this. It caused the rear tires to lock and slide. We ended up loosing control and running of the road and wrecking the truck and messing up the front. FORD HAS STILL NOT FIXED THIS VEHICLE
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. INFORMED BY DEALERSHIP THE TIMING CHAIN IS THE PROBLEM. 73,000 MILES. VERY FEW MILES A YEAR AND NO TOWING.
I WAS PULLING A EMPTY TRAILER AND IT STARTED DOWN SHIFTING AT 35-45 MPH I HAD TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING THEN BACK TO DRIVE TO GEAR UP IT DID IT AROUND 75 MPH THE FIRST TIME AND WI5H A TRAILER HAD TO COME TO A HAUNTING STOP ON A HIGHWAY IT'S IN THE PAST HOUR DONE IT 5 TIMES .... THIS IS NOT SAFE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FREEDOM FORD LINCOLN INC (151 WOODLAND DR SW, WISE, VA 24293) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ABS HYDRAULIC UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT RELATED THE ISSUE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V332000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,890.
I USED REMOTE START IN WINTER GOT IN TRUCK AND WHEN I WENT TO PUT IN GEAR THE REAR GLASS SHATTERED IT WAS A SLIDING REAR WINDOW AND IT WAS THE DRIVER SIDE OF IT THAT SHATTERED BEHIND THE DRIVERS HEAD THERE WAS NO VISIBLE IMPACT OF ANY KIND .. I WAS STATIONARY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE FUSE BOX TO BE RELOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. The brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal with excessive force, the brake pedal responded but with a delay. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
SPONTANEOUS SHATTERING OF REAR WINDSHIELD. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN WHICH THIS HAS HAPPENED WHERE THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITH NO CAUSE UNDER THE EXACT SAME CIRCUMSTANCE.. THERE IS NO SIGNS OF INTENTIONAL DAMAGE OR IMPACT. AT THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, AND RUNNING WITH THE REMOTE START FUNCTION. THE REAR DEFROST WAS ACTIVATED.
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY HEADING OUT OF TOWN GOING 70 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO AND THE RPM REV UP TO 4000RPM AND FELT LIKE A DOWNSHIFT , I HAD A CAR AND SEMI PASSING ME. IT WAS A SCARY MOMENT FOR. I TOOK IT TO A WELL KNOWN MECHANIC AND RAN A TEST AND TOLD ME THE LEAD FRAME WAS BAD. HE INFORMED ME THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT UNDER RECALL BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS NOT AT THE PLANT WHERE THE LEAD FRAME WAS FAULTY.
ON THE DAY OF 02/16/2021 I HAD THE REMOTE START ON THE TRUCK SO IT WILL WARM UP AND I HAVE EVERYTHING PRESET ALREADY FOR WARM HEATED AIR AND THE BACK GLASS HEATER AND MIRROR HEATERS TURNED ON. WHEN I GET INTO THE TRUCK IT WAS WARM AND OIL WAS BROUGHT UP TO TEMP SO I WAS READY TO HEAD OUT. WHEN I NOTICED OUT OF MY REAR VIEW MIRROR THAT THE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED DRIVER SIDE IT IS A 3 PIECE/1 PIECE GLASS SO IT'S SEPARATED PIECES OF GLASS BY A DIVIDER BUT CAN ONLY BE REPLACED BY BUYING THE WHOLE PIECE AND KIT. I'VE NOTICED THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OTHER INCIDENTS ON THIS VEHICLE IT IS A 2014 F-150 SUPER CREW 4X4 I'M SUPER UPSET SEEING AS THE TRUCK I HAVEN'T HAD LONG AND ALSO THE FACT THAT FORD DOESN'T WANNA OWN UP TO THEIR FLAW IN THE GLASS. I ALSO LIVE OUT IN THE COUNTRY SO VERY UNLIKELY SOMEONE DID THIS TO MY TRUCK MY DRIVE WAY IS PRETTY LONG SO IT ALL MAKES SENSE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING I'M SURE THE LOUD POP OF THE GLASS SHATTERED WOULD HAVE DISTRACTED ME ENOUGH TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURE MYSELF OR OTHERS. CONSIDERING MY FIRST ASSUMPTION WOULD BE A GUN GOING OFF AND SOMEONE IS FIRING AT ME.
TRANMISSION
BRAKE FLUID KEEPS DRAINING WITH NO VISIBLE LEAKS. HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS OTHERS IN ITS YEAR WITH FLUID DRAINING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER BUT HAS HAD NO RECALL FIX COMPLETED.
THERE'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FUSE #27 OVERHEATING AND CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO STOP WORKING. DO A GOOGLE SEARCH. IT AFFECTS MANY YEARS PRIOR TO 2014. THIS IS SERIOUS AS IT CAN LEAVE PEOPLE STRANDED. IT HAS NOT THROWN A COMPUTER CODE FROM 2014 F15. SIMPLY REPLACING THE FUSE DID ALLOW STARTING BUT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. THERE'S A FUSE RELOCATION KIT (EL3Z-14293A) AVAILABLE BUT FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PERFORMING THIS REPAIR. THE FUSE DOES'NT BLOW OUT BUT THE FUSE SOCKET OVERHEATS FOR SOME REASON.
WHILE PARKED,ENGINE OFF AND SITTING BEHIND THE WHEEL THE REAR WINDOW PANEL SHATTERED WITHOUT ANY PRIOR DAMAGE TO AFFECT BREAKAGE. THE PANEL IS THE DRIVER SIDE OF 3 PANELS OF PICKUP TRUCK. AFTER RESEARCHING , I'VE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNOWS OF THE DEFECT BUT HAS NOT TAKEN ACTION IN RECALLS.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH THE REAR DEFROST ON TRYING TO CLEAR THE BACK WINDOW, DRIVER SIDE REAR GLASS SHATTERED FOR NO REASON. I WILL BE REPLACING THE BACK GLASS, AS I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT A RECALL FROM FORD AT THIS TIME.
BACKUP CAMERA ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. MOST OF THE TIME THE DISPLAY JUST SAYS "REAR CAMERA UNAVAILABLE," SOMETIMES JUST A BLUE SCREEN, AND OCCASIONALLY WILL DISPLAY THE IMAGE BRIEFLY, THEN GO BLUESCREEN/CAMERA UNAVAILABLE. TURNING IGNITION OFF, THEN RESTARTING MAY RESET CAMERA AND BRIEFLY DISPLAY THE IMAGE, THEN BLUESCREEN/UNAVAILABLE AGAIN.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and the steering wheel became firm. The radio and heater also became inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000. The VIN was unavailable.
REAR GLASS EXPLODED !!!!!! WHILE SITTING IN PARKING LOT MOTOR WAS OFF WINDOWS WERE DOWN TEMP WAS AROUND 60 DEGREES DEFROST WAS OFF AS A MATTER OF FACT I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER USED THE DEFROST AND GLASS EXPLODED
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the steering wheel became stiff and the vehicle began to shudder. The contact stated they managed to pull over the side of the road and restart the vehicle. The power steering warning light had illuminated. The contact mentioned the vehicle was previously repaired by the local dealer for the rack and pinion. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced a second time. In addition, the contact stated the rack and pinion were previously replaced several times by the independent mechanic before the failure was experienced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
