TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXHAUST FUMES EMITTED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT THE EXHAUST FILTER WAS POORLY DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
THE MOON ROOF TRACK ON MY FORD F-350 (2008) FAILED AFTER ABOUT 5 YEARS. I HAD IT REPLACED AT JIM CLICK FORD IN TUCSON AT THE BEGINNING OF 2013 AT A COST OF $2400.00. AT THE BEGINNING OF 2015 IT FAILED AGAIN. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR FORD HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THE FAILURE(S) AND BOTH SAID I NEED TO DO THE REPAIR AGAIN AT MY EXPENSE. I FEEL THAT THE MOON ROOF APPARATUS SHOULD BE STURDY ENOUGH TO LAST THE LIFESPAN OF THE VEHICLE. MY CONTENTION IS THAT THIS ISSUE IS A DEFECT AND COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IS THE MOON ROOF IS BLOWN OFF OR CANNOT BE SEALED. FROM THE BEGINNING WITH THIS TRUCK WHEN I WOULD DRIVE IT FORWARD IN HIGH WINDS THE MOON ROOF WOULD LIFT AND CHATTER. THE FRAME IS PLASTIC AND NOT VERY STURDY. I'M SURE FORD USES THIS SAME PLASTIC FRAME ON MANY OF THEIR VEHICLES AND I THINK THAT RESEARCHING REPAIR RECORDS OF THOSE VEHICLES USING THIS FRAME MIGHT BE OF USE IN SEEING IF FAILURES ARE FREQUENT AND A POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, THE AIR BAGS THEN ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOYED. THERE WAS A POWDERY SUBSTANCE THAT WAS EMITTED FROM THE AIR BAGS, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CHOKE AND BECOME ILL. THE CONTACT ALSO SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, HEART, NECK AND LOWER BACK. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
FORD F350 WITH 6.4L DIESEL HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (CEL) ILLUMINATE WHILE DRIVING. ENGINE IMMEDIATELY SLOWED TO IDLE (800RPM) AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUTS. WAS NOT ABLE TO CLEAR ROADWAY AND BLOCKED TRAFFIC ON BUSY URBAN ROAD. DEALER WAS "NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG", YET "PERFORMED CALIBRATION UPDATE ON PCM". I WAS INFORMED "THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE AS VEHICLE AGES AND SENSORS WEAR." REVIEWED OWNERS MANUAL AND DID NOT LOCATED MAINTENANCE INTERVAL FOR "CALIBRATION UPDATES TO PCM." I AM CERTAIN THIS IS AN INHERENT PCM SOFTWARE CODE ERROR LEADING TO COMPLETE LOSS OF ENGINE OPERATION. A DANGEROUS SITUATION ON CONGESTED ROADWAYS. *TR
UPON INSPECTION OF THIS VEHICLE,OUR MECHANIC FOUND THE AUTOMATIC DIPSTICK TUBE RUSTED IN HALF ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. AT THE BRACKET THAT BOLTS TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. WE BELIEVE THIS TO BE A POTENTIAL FIRE /SAFETY HAZARD IF SOME ONE WAS TO FILL OR CHECK THE TRANSMISSION WHILE THE ENGINE IS HOT. WE ALSO FOUND THE RIGHT SIDE SHOCK TOWER SEVERELY DEGRADED BECAUSE OF RUST. THE TOP OF THE TOWER HAS LARGE PIECES OF RUST SCALE ON TOP OF THE TOWER THAT WE FEEL COULD POSSIBLY ALLOW THE COIL SPRING PRESSURE TO FRACTURE THE STEEL AND CAUSE A LOSS OF STEERING. I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MUCH CORROSION ON A TRUCK THIS NEW. WE HAVE TAKEN PICTURES AND CAN BE E-MAILED IF NEEDED. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM SERVICE UNTIL IT CAN BE REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SHIFTING INTO GEAR, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE MALFUNCTION AND CRASHED INTO SEVERAL TREES. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DEEMED AS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 134,336. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE WIRE HARNESS WAS DAMAGED AND CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO SHORT OUT. AS A RESULT, THE WIRE HARNESS AND THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,200. I HAVE A 2008 F350 SINGLE REAR WHEEL!!!! DEATH WOBBLE WITH MY FRIENDS BOSTON WHALER GOING DOWN 495 TO THE CAPE!!!! HAD THE TRUCK FOR FOUR YEARS!!! REPLACED 2 STEERING SHOCKS,TIEROD ENDS!! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE PERSONNEL THAT THE RIM WAS FRACTURED AND HAD CAUSED THE BLOW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE RIM. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE RIM WAS FRACTURED AS WELL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND I COMPLETELY LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER. I COULD NOT BUDGE THE WHEEL AT ALL. MY BRAKES STILL WORKED, BUT IT DIDN'T FEEL 100%. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10-15 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. WHEN IT HAPPENS, I CAN SHIFT THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL AND REV THE ENGINE AND I'LL GET MY STEERING BACK. ALSO, IF I SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN THE TRUCK OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN, THE STEERING WILL WORK. THE ONLY TIME IT HAPPENS IS WHEN I'M SLOWING DOWN FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS, 55+ MPH. IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN TOWING ALSO. THIS IS MY FATHER TRUCK, BUT I USE IT FOR THE FAMILY BUSINESS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING 55-70 MPH OVER A ROAD BUMP, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE SPECIALIST WHO PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT AND REPLACED THE TIRES AND SHOCKS HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN DRIVING OVER A ROAD BUMP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ASCEND AN INCLINE, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ACCELERATE UPHILL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE STEERING GEAR BOX. THE SHAFT PIN SHREDDED OFF ALLOWING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SPIN FREELY WITH NO MOVEMENT TO THE WHEELS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH, MY TRUCK HIT A BUMP IN THE PAVEMENT AND I EXPERIENCED A VIOLENT SHAKE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT WHEELS. AS A RESULT, I SWERVED INTO THE OTHER LANE AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHILE I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS, IF THE TRAFFIC WOULD HAVE BEEN HEAVIER (THIS OCCURRED NEAR THE PENTAGON, JUST OFF OF 395 N) I COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *JS
2008 F350 FORD TRUCK, BAD HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. FORD REFUSING TO SUPPORT THEIR WARRANTY. RUNNING ROUGH, WITH NO HIGH END POWER. STALLED WHILE TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO BUSY TRAFFIC. SLOWED TO 20MPH IN MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. FORD DEALER ANALYZED TROUBLE TO HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED BY FORD 100,000 MILES/5YR WARRANTY. FORD WILL NOT SUPPORT THEIR WARRANTY DUE TO RUST FOUND IN FUEL TANK. RUST IN THE SYSTEM WOULD BE A FAILURE OF FORDS FILTERING SYSTEM / DESIGN WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. COST OF REPAIR IS $8500. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 DIESEL. WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEGAN TO SLIGHTLY VIBRATE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE RIM, THERE WAS SIX INCHES OF THE TIRE RIM BEAD THAT WAS FRACTURED FROM THE RIM OF THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WHEEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE ONTO INTERSTATE 85 N FROM EXIT 57 IN OPELIKA, AL DURING VERY BUSY TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AND COULD NOT GET ABOVE 60 MPH, WHICH NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE FORD DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO BE A FAILED HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WHICH WAS NOT COVERED BY THE FACTORY 100,000 MI. WARRANTY DUE TO WHAT THE DEALER AND A FORD MOTOR CO. REPRESENTATIVE FROM CUSTOMER RELATIONS SAID WAS CONTAMINATED FUEL DAMAGE. THE 6.4 L DIESEL FUEL SYSTEM IS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO FILTER AND FUEL/WATER SEPARATOR SYSTEM FOR THE PURPOSE OF FILTERING CONTAMINATES, INCLUDING WATER, WHICH OBVIOUSLY FAILED AND CONSEQUENTLY CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. ALL SERVICES HAD BEEN PERFORMED AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO INCLUDE THE FUEL FILTERS. FORD SEEMS TO BE PLACING THE BLAME ON CONTAMINATED FUEL AS THE CAUSE FOR THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILURE WHEN THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY THAT IT IS A DEFECT IN THE FILTERING SYSTEM. *JS
VEHICLE WAS SITTING AT IDLE WHEN BLEW UPPER RADIATOR HOSE. I REPLACED HOSE DUE TO FORDS EXCESSIVE CHARGE TO REPLACE ONE HOSE,WAS NOT NOTIFIED THAT DUE TO THE LOSS OF FLUID. RADIATORS HOT COLD CYCLES WERE EFFECTED, SO RADIATOR WAS EFFECTED AND CREATED A CRACK IN RADIATOR DUE TO CONSTANTLY CYCLING DUE TO THE LOSS OF FLUID CREATED FROM DEFECTIVE HOSE. NOW FORD WILL NOT COVER THE RADIATOR DUE TO SERVICE MANAGERS LACK OF INFORMING CLIENT TO KEEP HOSE FOR FORD CORPORATE TO REVIEW. OTHER PROBLEMS THAT AROSE BLOWN MOTOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLID ON ICE AND CRASHED INTO A PARKED TRAILER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE FOR THIS CRASH WAS 80,000. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK A DEER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE BODY SHOP WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES IN EITHER CRASH. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

TWO 2008 FORD F-350. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DESIGN FLAW IN BOTH VEHICLES CURRENT RADIATORS. *SMD FORD'S RECOMMENDATION WAS TO REPEATEDLY REPLACE THE PART AT A COST OF $ 1300. *JB

2008 FORD F-350. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDING PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT TIRES *TGW THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING THE REMAINING REFUND FOR THE TIRES HE HAD TO PURCHASE DUE TO A RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED. *JB
WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK STALLED AND QUITE RUNNING. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP THEY DETERMINED THAT 2 FUEL INJECTORS ALONG WITH THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR WERE BAD. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH THEY DETERMINED IT WAS CAUSED BY CORRISON IN THE FUEL TANK. THEY SAID FORD WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THE PROBLEM AS THEY BLAMED IT ON THE DIESEL FUEL. WE BUY THE SAME DIESEL FUEL THAT OTHER TRUCKS USE AND THEY DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT IS BOUGHT AT REPUTABLE GAS STATIONS. FORTUNATELY WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD THIS TIME AND NOT CAUSE ANY ACCIDENTS. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE BACKED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY INSTEAD OF A MONEY MAKER FOR THEM. AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND MAKE FORD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE RIM WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING MY 2008 F-350 SUPERDUTY DIESEL POWERED TRUCK AT 45 MPH FOR APPROX 2 MILES, RECEIVED MESSAGE " "STOP SAFELY NOW" AND COMPLETE POWER DOWN OF ENGINE. THE TRUCK DECELERATED SO FAST THAT HAD WE NOT BEEN PASSING A PULL OFF LANE WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVING LANE. THE WHOLE INCIDENT HAPPENED IN LESS THAN 10 SECONDS. AFTER GETTING OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD, ENGINE WOULD NOT CRANK OVER AND WAS NOT ALLOWED TO RESTART UNTIL AFTER THE ENGINE EITHER COOLED DOWN OR TIMED OUT (DIDN'T TRY FOR ABOUT AN HOUR LATER). BY TIME TOW TRUCK ARRIVED, WE HAD GOTTEN THE ENGINE TO START BUT DID NOT FEEL IT SAFE TO TRY AND MOVE THE VEHICLE AS WE HAD NO IDEA HOW FAR IT WOULD GO OR IF IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. TRUCK WAS IN SHOP SERVICED FOR 60,000 AND HAD LATEST FORD RECALL FOR REPROGRAMMING COMPLETED LESS THAN 30 MILES PRIOR TO INCIDENT. WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS A TECH BULLETIN OUT ON THIS PROBLEM BUT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE ENGINE WARRANTY SO WE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. THE FIX IS ONLY HALF THE ISSUE; 10-15 SECOND IS NOT ENOUGH WARNING TO SAFELY PULL OFF THE ROAD. IF WE HAD BEEN PULLING OUR TRAVEL TRAILER, WE WOULD NOT EVEN BEEN ABLE TO GET AS FAR AS WE DID. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME A TECH BULLETIN ISSUE HAS HAPPENED TO US (PRIOR ISSUE WAS WITH A PRESSURE VALVE ON THE RADIATOR THAT CAUSED THE RADIATOR TO SPLIT) FORD SHOULD INFORM US OF POTENTIAL PROBLEMS SO WE CAN BE AWARE OF POSSIBLE ISSUES BEFORE THEY HAPPEN, NOT DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED, WITH BRAKE DEPRESSED, THE ENGINE REVS UP AND VEHICLE WANTS TO ACCELERATE FORWARD AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE ACCELERATION IS TO GET THE VEHICLE TRANSITIONED IN TO PARK AND CUT THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THREE DEALERS, WHOM ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM. FORD HAS NOT BEEN RESPONSIVE. VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
REPEATED "DEATH WOBBLE". MANY TIMES, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN I HIT A BUMP OR IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD, THE TRUCK WILL VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND LOOSE STEERING CONTROL. SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN DURING CURVES IN THE ROAD. I HAVE SHOT SIDEWAYS ACROSS SEVERAL LANES OF TRAFFIC ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION VERY NARROWLY AVOIDING A HIGH SPEED COLLISION. HAPPENS BOTH WHILE PULLING A LOAD OR NOT. DEALERSHIP IS UNWILLING TO HELP. VERY SERIOUS, LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM GOING ON AND I CANNOT BELIEVE FORD IS UNWILLING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING MY 2008 F350 SUPERDUTY DIESEL POWERED TRUCK AT 45MPH FOR APPROX 4 MILES, RECEIVED MESSAGE "EXHAUST DRIVE COMPLETE" IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY "STOP SAFELY NOW" AND COMPLETE POWERDOWN OF ENGINE. THE TRUCK DECELERATED SO FAST THAT DESPITE MY FLOORING THE THROTTLE, THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST COLLIDED. THE TRUCK LOST SO MUCH POWER THAT I COULD NOT SAFELY PULL OFF ROAD AND WAS IN A RURAL AREA BETWEEN TWO BLIND CURVES. THE WHOLE INCIDENT HAPPENED IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS AND LEFT TRUCK COMPLETELY VULNERABLE TO WHATEVER TRAFFIC CONDITIONS WERE AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT. AFTER GETTING OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD, TRUCK STALLED ON SLIGHT RISE AND DID NOT HAVE THE POWER TO MOVE, HOWEVER WHEN I SHUT TRUCK DOWN, MY 5FT8IN 200LB BODY WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE 8000 LB VEHICLE OVER THE HUMP. ENGINE WOULD NOT CRANK OVER AFTER INCIDENT AND WAS NOT ALLOWED TO RESTART UNTIL AFTER THE UNIT EITHER COOLED DOWN OR TIMED OUT (DIDN'T TRY FOR 30-45 MIN LATER). BY TIME TOW TRUCK ARRIVED, UNIT WOULD RUN BUT LESS THAN FULL POWER AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. TRUCK WAS IN SHOP SERVICED FOR FAULTY EGR VALVE AND HAD LATEST FORD RECALL FOR REPROGRAMMING COMPLETED LESS THAN 100 MILES PRIOR TO INCIDENT. *TR
RT READ TIRE INNER BELT BROKE CAUSE DANGEROUS SHIMMY IN THE READ END OF MY PICK UP. RT FRONT TIRE IS SHOWING SIGNS OF SPLITTING FROM THE SIDEWALL AS WELL AS THE LF READ TIRE. TIRES HAVE 12, 038 MILES ON THEM. CONTINENTAL REFUSES TO REPLACE THEM BECAUSE THE DOT #'S DO NOT MATCH "THEIR" RECALL EVEN THOUGH THE TIRES ARE EXHIBITING THE SAME MALFUNCTIONS. THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT 20" ALLOY RIM MOUNTED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY 2008 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY DEVELOPED A STRESS FRACTURE THAT WHEN IN MOTION AND SUPPORTING THE FULL WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE, OPENS AND CLOSES WITH EACH ROTATION OF THE WHEEL, CAUSING AIR PRESSURE TO VENT AND THE TIRE TO GO FLAT AFTER SEVERAL MILES OF DRIVING. THE FRACTURE DOES NOT VENT WHEN THE WHEEL IS REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WITH NO STRESS ON THE FRACTURED AREA. THE FRACTURE IS NOT CAUSED BY ACCIDENT OR ABUSE. IT SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT TOOK SEVERAL YEARS TO DEVELOP INTO A DETECTABLE FAULT. STRESS FRACTURES OF THIS TYPE ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THEY ARE POTENTIALLY CAPABLE OF 100% FAILURE AT VEHICULAR SPEED, RESULTING IN RIM FAILURE AND SUBSEQUENT LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. *TR
I BROUGHT THIS 2008 FORD F-350SD TO THE DEALER TODAY BECAUSE OF ANTI-FREEZE LEAKING FROM BOTTOM OF RADIATOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE TRUCK HAS ABOUT 16000 MILES ON IT. DEALER SAYS THE RADIATOR MUST BE REPLACED AND NO WARRANTY SO I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. I CALLED FORD AND ASKED FOR HELP AND WAS TURNED DOWN. THE FORD DEALER CONTACTED FORD AND ASKED FOR HELP AND WAS TURNED DOWN. I HAVE READ OF NUMEROUS RADIATOR FAILURES ON THIS YEARS F350 SO EVIDENTLY THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN OF THEIR COOLING SYSTEM AND FORD SHOULD REIMBURSE FOR THESE FAILURES. NO RADIATOR SHOULD FAIL IN 16000 MILES.
I BOUGHT A 2008 SUPER DUTY WITH THE 6.4 L DIESEL ENGINE IN IT. I NOTICED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING ON THE BOTTOM DRIVER SIDE. I DECIDED TO DO SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF IT WERE A COMMON PROBLEM , TO MY SURPRISE IT WAS. EVERYONE THAT HAS A SUPER DUTY TRUCK WITH THE 6.4 L COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM , RADIATOR LEAKING ON THE BOTTOM DRIVER SIDE. SOME OF THE OWNERS RECORDED THAT IT WAS THEIR 3 RD RADIATOR IN THEIR TRUCK. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON CARFAX AND NOTICED THAT ATLEAST 7 TRUCKS OUT OF 20 THAT WERE FOR SALE IN THE MEMPHIS AREA HAD THEIR RADIATORS REPLACED AND SOME TRUCKS MORE THAN 3 TIMES. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY LOOK AT MY RADIATOR AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ALSO LOOKED AND MADE SURE THAT MY TRUCK HAD THE VENTURI KIT INSTALLED ON IT, THAT FORD HAD A RECALL ON THE COOLING SYSTEM BACK IN 08 , IT WAS INSTALLED. AFTER THEY REMOVED MY RADIATOR THE SERVICE MAN TOLD ME THAT IF MY THERMOSTATS WERE NOT AT FAULT THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE RADIATOR. MY THERMOSTATS HE SAID WERE FINE SO I WAS RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR A NEW RADIATOR. I STRONGLY BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE HOLD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE COOLING SYSTEMS THAT IS FAILING . TO ME THEY ARE ONLY PATCHING A PROBLEM AND HOPE IT WILL LAST TILL THE WARRANTY IS OVER AND THEN IT IS THE OWNERS PROBLEM . TO MANY OWNERS OUT THERE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM FOR ME TO EXCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT IS CLEARLY A BAD DEFECT ON THE COOLING SYSTEM. TIRE CRACKED THROUGH WHILE DRIVING CAUSING RAPID DEFLATION. *TR
2008 FORD F 350 FX4 EQUIPPED WITH FORD'S PREMIUM WHEELS, THE PLASTIC FULL SIZE WHEEL COVERS ARE FALLING OFF OF THE WHEELS THAT THEY ARE ATTACHED TO. THE TAPE THAT HOLDS THE PLASTIC WHEEL COVERTO THE STEEL WHEEL IS FAILING. I AM CONCERNED THAT THESE WHEEL COVERS WILL FLY OFF AND HIT SOMEONE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR INJURIES. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO ANY OF THESE WHEEL COVERS. 1 COVER HAS ALREADY FALLEN OFF AND THE OTHER 3 ARE BECOMING LOOSE LIKE THE FIRST. I CALLED FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBER AND HAD THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALER. BOTH FORD & THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF IT'S WARRANTY PERIOD (I PURCHASED FORD'S BEST EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED; SAME ANSWER) AND NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THEY DID EVEN LOOK AT THE WHEELS. *TR
DURING U-TURN, A CURB WAS TRAVERSED BY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. AFTER STEERING CAME BACK STRAIGHT, STEERING WHEEL WAS OFF CENTER 25 DEGREES WITH TRUCK PULLING LEFT. AN ALIGNMENT WAS DONE TO CORRECT THAT LASTED A MONTH. STEERING WHEEL DRIFTED BACK TO 25 DEGREES OFF CENTER AND TRUCK PULLED TO LEFT. A SECOND ALIGNMENT WAS COMPLETED BY A DIFFERENT DEALER CORRECTING PROBLEM FOR THE MOST PART. VEHICLE STILL PULLS LEFT AND OR RIGHT ON CERTAIN ROADS, WITH PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL THAT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED OUT. CONCLUSION IS STEERING BOX IS PRETTY "LIGHT DUTY" FOR A SUPER DUTY RATED TRUCK. TRUCK WAS ON SECOND STEERING GEAR BOX WITH FIRST DEVELOPING A DRIFTING ISSUE SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE - DEALER DETERMINED CORRECTION COULD ONLY BE MADE BY BOX REPLACEMENT. MONDAY, JANUARY 3, 2011, WE WERE DRIVING ON A RURAL ROAD IN ROUTE TO SHARPS CHAPEL, TENNESSEE WHEN THE RIGHT SIDE FRONT PASSENGER CALIPER/ROTOR ASSEMBLY FAILED CAUSING SMOKING AND BURNING SMELL OF THE BRAKE SHOES FORCING ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER ALLOWING THE BRAKES TO COOL, I CONTACTED AND DROVE TO MORRISTOWN FORD IN TENNESSEE AND THEY TO ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE BRAKES BY DISASSEMBLING AND CLEANING THE CALIPER/ROTOR SINCE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO APPROPRIATELY RECTIFY THE SITUATION. THIS REPAIR WAS NOT EFFECTIVE AND THE PROBLEM HAS REPEATED ITSELF FOUR TIMES SINCE THEN, MOST RECENTLY ON OCTOBER 5, 2012. THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY DANGEROUS VEHICLE DESIGN AND/OR PART FAILURE!! 2008 FORD F350. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED A CODE CAMP UP THAT STATED CLEAN EXHAUST FILTER. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE EXHAUST SENSOR WAS BAD AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED ONCE BEFORE. ALSO, PARTS ON THE RADIATOR WERE REPLACED DUE TO LEAKS AROUND THE ENGINE. THE REPAIR SHOP INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE TRUCK WAS NOT RUNNING RIGHT AND REQUESTED THE SERVICE RECORDS. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE AND HER HUSBAND PERFORMED THEIR OWN MAINTENANCE ON THE TRUCK. THE MECHANIC ASKED FOR THE TYPE OF OIL THAT WAS USED. THE CONSUMER WAS THEN INFORMED THE WRONG TYPE OF OIL WAS USED AND THE ENGINE WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. A SAMPLE OF OIL WAS TESTED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CORRECT OIL WAS BEING USED, HOWEVER THE OIL WAS CONTAMINATED WITH COOLANT. *JB

ON 12/30/2010 AT 2PM I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES (ZIP CODE 57201) AND THE AIR FILTER HAD 1/2" OF SNOW ALL AROUND AND INSIDE THE FILTER. DISCUSSED WITH LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY SAY THERE IS A NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM COULD CAUSE VEHICLE TO STALL IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND OR STRAND PASSENGERS IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. *TR
DRIVER, ATTEMPTING TO STOP FOR A LIGHT RAIL CROSSING, DEPRESSED BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR SIMULTANEOUSLY, MOVING FORWARD INTO THE PATH OF ONCOMING TROLLEY. VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. DRIVER BELIEVES BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER AND ALIGNED WHEN DEPRESSED.

THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD TWO RADIATOR FAILURES. WE HAD THE DEALER DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR BOTH TIMES. EVERY TRUCK IN OUR FLEET OF 7 F-350'S HAS HAD AT LEAST TWO RADIATOR FAILURES AND FORD REFUSES TO WARRANT THE REPAIRS. ON THIS VEHICLE THE FIRST RADIATOR WAS REPLACED AT 60,083 MILES ON 7-8-09; THE SECOND RADIATOR WAS REPLACED AT 119,551 MILES ON 11-18-10. *TR
BRAKE PEDAL LOCATION AND DEPRESSING VEHICLE'S BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. STREET DEPARTMENT WORKERS WEARING PROPER WORK BOOTS HAVE FOUND THAT THE PEDAL SPACING IS NOT ADEQUATE BETWEEN GAS PEDAL AND BRAKE PEDAL. THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 10 TIMES WHERE THE EMPLOYEE HAS DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL PLACEMENT ARE TO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER AND BOTH PEDALS CAN BE DEPRESSED AT THE SAME TIME GIVING THE OPERATOR THE FEELING OF NO BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE NOT STOPPING. WE HAVE REPRODUCED THIS SITUATION AT LEAST 5 TIMES AND FEEL THAT IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU BE NOTIFIED OF THIS DESIGN DEFECT. WE CONTACTED REUTEHR FORD, MIKE BOWEN A SERVICE ADVISOR AND THEY STATE THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS SITUATION BUT FORD HAS NOT ADDRESSED IT AT THIS POINT. THIS IS A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. *TR
