ON OCCASION WHEN THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED IT SIMPLY FALLS TO THE FLOOR AND HAS TO BE IMMEDIATELY REPRESSED. IT HAS A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKES HAVE BEEN BLED PROFESSIONALLY. THIS DID NOT CURE THE PROBLEM. IT IS UNSAFE. I WANT THE DEALER TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS, NO COST TO ME. OCURES WHILE IN MOTION.
THE INSIDE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE BREAKS AND MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO EXIT THE CAR WITHOUT ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW AND USING THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MAKES EXITING THE CAR IN AN EMERGENCY DIFFICULT AND COULD LEAD TO INJURY. THIS APPEARS TO BE FAIRLY COMMON WITH THE FORD FUSION.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,300.
STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO STEER AND A MESSAGE KEEPS COMING UP ON THE DASH SAYING 'SERVICE TRACK'
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON FOR PASSENGER SEAT
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal. Both the power train and check engine warning lights would appear on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to both an independent mechanic and a dealer but neither could diagnose to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE REVERT TO MANUAL STEERING MODE WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS SO DANGEROUS, NOT ABLE TO DRIVE SAFELY. DURING MY INVESTIGATION I FOUND THAT FORD ALREADY HAD RECALLED FOR SIMILAR FAULT FOR CERTAIN VINS RANGE BUT NOT FOR ALL VINS ( RECALL NOTICE : 15S18/NHTSA RECALL 15V-340). UNFORTUNATELY MY VIN IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL VINS. THIS ALREADY HAPPENED THREE TIME IN MY CAR, I TOOK MY CAR TO MECHANIC THEY FOUND FOLLOWING TWO ERROR CODE C1277 (POWER STEERING ANGLE SENSOR) C1963 (STABILITY CALIBRATION - 1&2 CIRCUIT FAILURE) I AM ATTACHING ALL THREE INVOICES FROM ALL MECHANIC GARAGES WHERE YOU CAN FIND THEIR FINDINGS.

UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WAS SERVICED IN MARCH OF 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY STEERING WHEEL KEEPS LOCKING UP. NOT ABLE TO TURN OR DRIVE CAR SAFELY. STEERING HAS BEEN REPAIRED ONCE FROM RECALL BUT STILL QUITS WORKING. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
DRIVER SIDE INSIDE DOOR OPENING HANDLE BROKE TWICE. I FIXED IT WITH A USED PART FROM THE EXACT SAME YEAR AND MODEL OF CAR WITH SIMILAR MILEAGE, BUT IT BROKE AGAIN IN 3 MONTHS TIME. IT'S NOT JUST A PAIN IN THE BUTT TO GET OUT, IT'S ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. IF A PERSON WAS IN A WRECK AND CAN'T OPEN THE ELECTRIC WINDOW HOW WOULD I EXIT THE VEHICLE IN A HURRY? THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE CAR AFTER ARRIVING AT WORK. THERE IS A SMALL THIN PLASTIC PIECE THAT BREAKS OFF OF THE HANDLE YOU PULL TO OPEN THE DOOR, ONCE IT BEAKS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE DOOR OPEN IS TO LOWER THE DRIVERS WINDOW, REACH OUTSIDE TO GET AHOLD OF THE OUTER DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN IT FROM THERE. IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT YOU MUST CRAWL OVER THE PASSENGER SEAT TO EXIT UNLESS SOMEONE CAN OPEN THE DOOR FOR YOU.
STARTED VEHICLE AND WENT TO PULL AWAY FROM CURB AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING AND THEN NOTICED STEERING LIGHT WAS ON IN THE DASH LIGHTS. VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF UNTIL THE NEXT DAY, WENT TO ASSESS PROBLEM AND WHEN VEHICLE WAS STARTED THE LIGHT WAS OFF AND POWER STEERING WAS BACK WORKING PROPERLY.
THE GEAR SHIFT LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD STAYS ON AND IT'S MAKING MY CAR GO DEAD. I HAVE TO KEEP GETTING A JUMP EVERYDAY. IT IN PARK NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND DOORS LOCKED.ITS MAKING A LOUD NOISE
FORD ISSUED RECALL 15S18 FOR THE POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEMS THAT SHUT DOWN. IN NOVEMBER I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A DIFFERENT RECALL ON AN AIRBAG. I WAS INFORMED OF THE ABOVE RECALL AND STATED AT THE TIME I DIDN'T FIND IT NECESSARY, MY CAR HAD HIGH MILEAGE AND HAD NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES. I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY HAD TO PERFORM THE RECALL DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. TWO DAYS LATER I TOOK THE CAR ON A TRIP, AT THAT TIME THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED ON THE INTERSTATE. I LEFT THE CAR AT MY MOTHERS HOUSE AND CAME BACK WITH MY TRUCK AND TRAILER AND TOWED IT THE 900 MILES HOME. I CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD OF AN EXTENSION TO THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED BY FORD WHEN THE COMPUTE UPDATE CAUSES ISSUES OR FAILS. I HAD MY VEHICLE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT PERFORMED THE POWER STEERING ASSIST RECALL TO START WITH AND WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO MY MILEAGE MY CAR WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE RECALL OR EXTENSION, EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES BEFORE THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT MIKE RAISOR FORD IN LAFAYETTE INDIANA AND THE DEALERSHIP NOT FORD WILL COVER THE REPAIRS UNDER THE RECALL OR EXTENSION. APPARENTLY THE DANGEROUS RECALL IS ONLY DANGEROUS UNDER 150,000 MILES. AFTER MUCH REASEAECH I HAVE FOUND THE EXTENSION TO THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED BECAUSE ON HALF THE VEHICLES THE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED ON THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED AFTER IT WAS DONE. FORD WITHER NEEDS TO PUT AN UNLIMITED MILEAGE/LIMITATION ON THE EXTENSION TO THE RECALL OR CAP THE RECALL AT THE SAME MILEAGE AS THE EXTENSION. BY SETTING TWO DIFFERENT STANDARDS THEY ARE PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMERS AT EXTENDED RISK FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING OR EXTREMELY COSTLY REPAIRS DUE TO THE ISSUE WITH THE REPAIR WORK DONE UNDER RECALL 15S18. THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT SHOWS THE ORIGINAL RECALL ALONG WITH SUPPLEMENT 15N01

ALSO, THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND "SEE DEALER IMMEDIATELY" WAS DISPLAYED. THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) EVEN THOUGH THE FAILURE WAS IDENTICAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2014, I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS WE WERE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET TO WHERE MY PASSENGER SEAT BELT DID NOT WORK UPON FRONTAL HEAD ON IMPACT OR MY AIRBAGS DIDNT GO OFF CAUSING ME TO COLLIDE INTO THE DASH BOARD. THIS CAUSED LIGAMENT TEARING IN MY RIGHT HAND/SHOULDER AS THAT WAS THE INITIAL IMPACT. NOW I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO SUFFER FROM LIMITATIONS ON THE USE OF MY RIGHT HAND/SHOULDER COMPLICATIONS. FOR THE BRAKE ISSUE BEGINNING DECEMBER 1, 2019. IT HAS COME UP THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS STICKING AND TEARING THROUGH MY BRAKES AS I AM DRIVING ON THE STREET OR EVEN HIGHWAY CAUSING IT TO SMOKE AROUND MY BACK TIRES. I NEARLY LOST MY LIFE ONCE, AND DO NOT WANT IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN, BUT WHEN CHECKING BRAKE RECALLS IT'S ONLY UP TO A 2010 MODEL AND I HAVE A 2012 MODEL. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED THE PADDING ON MY BREAKS TO COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR LEAVING ME UNABLE TO COME TO A STOP.

THIS REFERENCES TRACKING NO. 11246006. FOR THE SECOND TIME, NOV. 29, 2019, MY BRAKES FAILED. FORD FUSION 2012, 40,100 MILES. I WAS PARKED IN A GARAGE - STARTED CAR, PUT IN DRIVE AND ALL FAILURE LIGHTS CAME ON AND NO BRAKES WHEN I USED THE BRAKE PEDAL. MY INVOICE FOR $3,200 TO REPAIR STATED "INSPECTED AND FOUND THAT ECU AND HCU BOTH HAVE INTERNAL FAILURE NOT ALLOWING COMPUTERS TO CONTROL RESPECTIVE COMPONENTS. ... PER PIN POINT TEST." I BELIEVE THIS FAILURE IS A RESULT OF DEFECTIVE PARTS ON THE FORD VEHICLE. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 40,000 MILES -- IT SHOULD NOT HAVE A FAILURE OF THIS MAGNITUDE. I BELIEVE I SHOULD BE REFUNDED THE AMOUNT I HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIR. P.S. AFTER PAYING $3,200 FOR THE REPAIR, I WAS PRESENTED WITH A CAR THAT HAD SO MANY LEAVES ALL OVER THE CAR, I HAD TO USE MY SNOW REMOVAL WAND TO REMOVE THE LEAVES BEFORE I COULD SEE OUT THE WINDOWS -- THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 12 DAYS TO REPAIR??
AFTER DRIVING A DISTANCE, I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THE CAR WENT INTO REVERSE, BUT WAS STILL SHOWING IN PARK. I HAD TO QUICKLY SLAM ON THE BREAKS AND SHUT THE CAR DOWN. HOWEVER, BECAUSE IT WAS ACTUALLY IN REVERSE , THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. IT HAD TO BE MANUALLY PUT IN DRIVE SO I COULD GET SOMEWHERE SAFE. VERY DANGEROUS.

NOVEMBER 18, 2019 APPROXIMATELY 6:30 P.M. CENTRAL TIME I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 FORD FUSION WHICH I HAVE OWNED LESS THAN A MONTH, ON A DARK, CITY STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES AN HOUR WHILE LOOKING FOR A BUSINESS. SUDDENLY, THE ELECTRIC ASSIST STEERING WENT OUT AND THE CAR BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. A WARNING LIGHT WAS LILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD ADVISING OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAULT. AS I WAS SHUTTLING CHILDREN FROM AN AFTER SCHOOL EVENT HOME, I DID NOT HAVE TIME TO STOP THE CAR AND READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL FOR THE FAULT LIGHT. I PROCEEDED HOME USING MANUAL STEERING. ONCE AT HOME, I READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL AND SHUT DOWN THE CAR AND RESTARTED AND THE FAULT CLEARED. RESEARCH SHOWED THAT THERE WERE SAFETY RECALLS ISSUED FOR THE STEERING 15 S18 AND 15 N01. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO BOB ALLEN FORD DEALERSHIP IN OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED POWER STEERING RACK FAILURE. THEY ADVISED APPROXIMATELY $1,500 CHARGE TO SERVICE. I INQUIRED REGARDING THE SAFETY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE RECALLS AND WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED DUE TO MILEAGE. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS ALSO REJECTED FOR ANY ASSISTANCE. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER AT BOB ALLEN FORD IF HE WOULD SPLIT THE COST WITH ME, WHICH HE REFUSED. IT WOULD APPEAR TO ME THAT IF THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART/SAFETY ISSUE, IT SHOULD BE COVERED REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE OF THE FORD CAR.

MANUAL STEERING EFFORT REQUIRED IS EXTRODINARY VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED IN 2018 AS PART OF RECALL 15V340000 VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT FORD DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS AND HOPEFULLY REPLACEMENT OF THE SAME PARTS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY RECALLED. I'M ALERTING NHTSA SO THAT YOU ARE AWARE A PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED VEHICLE UNDER THE RECALL CAMPAIGN HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE WITHIN ONE YEAR OF REPAIR.
A SHIFTER CABLE THAT DETACHES FROM THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT ALLOWING THE GEAR STATE TO GO INTO PARK. HOWEVER THE GEARSHIFT POSITION SHOWS IT IN PARK.
ABS WARNING LIGHT AND LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT ON. THE LINES AND MASTER CYLINDER WERE REPLACED AND THE BRAKES ARE IN WORSE CONDITION. LOOSE AND POOR RESPONSE WHEN MOVING AND NEEDING TO STOP.
THROTTLE BODY STAYS OPEND CAUSING WRENCH TO POP UP ON DASH AND CAR TO NO LONGER ACCELERATE WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.. ALSO THE THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR IS FAULTY. I'VE HAD MULTIPLE PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE THIS EXACT ISSUE WITH THE FUSION .. NOT TO MENTION THE TENSION PULLEY MAKES THE CAR WHILE IN MANY FORD FUSION CARS...
THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT ALL OF A SUDDEN STOP WORKING WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR ONE DAY. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR AFTER AN HOUR, THE BELT WOULDN'T LATCH. NOTHING WAS DROPPED IN THE LATCH, THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT WITH A PERSON IN THE VEHICLE. ALL OTHER PARTS AND ALL OTHER SEAT BELTS WORK.
MY CARS POWER STEERING HAS COMPLETELY CEASED UP. I BOUGHT IT USED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO IN JULY 2018. THE LIGHT HAS COME ON FOR SERVICE ALONG WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. MY CAR HAS ROUGHLY 170,000 MILES, MAYBE A LITTLE LESS. IN LOOKING UP THIS ISSUE, THERE IS A DISTURBING AMT OF PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT ISSUE WHO HAVE ACTUALLY HAD ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS. LUCKILY I HAVE NOT BUT MY CAR IS NOW WORTHLESS AS THERE IS NO WAY I'LL BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE REPAIRS YET I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE LOAN. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED HOWEVER MY BOYFRIEND WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, ROUGHLY AT 70MPH, AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. I DONT HAVE THE MUSCLE TO DO THIS, NOR AM I TAKING THE RISK. DROVE THAT MORNING TO WORK WHEN I CRANKED BACK UP TO LEAVE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT SHOWED UP AND NO POWER STEERING
I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET LEAVING A RESTAURANT AND WENT ARE A RIGHT TURN AND A DISPLAY MESSAGE POP UP POWER STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT. AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ON ME
DRIVING 60MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND INFORMATION CENTER MESSAGED POPPED UP SAYING "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "SERVICE POWER STEERING". STEERING BECAME VERY TIGHT AND WHEN TRYING TO ADJUST IN THE LANE, THE CAR WOULD REACT ERRATICALLY AND AGGRESSIVELY, MAKING IT EXTREMELY HARD TO MAINTAIN THE LANE. CAR WOULD "JUMP" OVER ABOUT A FOOT WHEN TRYING TO CORRECT THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAINTAIN THE LANE. SLOWED DOWN AND GOT OFF THE FREEWAY TO WHICH ANOTHER MESSAGE POPPED UP SAYING "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW". NO POWER STEERING AT ALL, ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE OVER 25 MPH WITHOUT RISK OR CRASHING DUE TO STEERING BEING EXTREMELY TIGHT AND RESISTIVE TO MAINTAINING THE LANE. LIMPED THE CAR HOME ABOUT 5 MILES, AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. TALKED TO AN OLDER GENTLEMEN OVER THE PHONE AND SAID THAT THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND THAT A COMPUTER REFRESH/UPDATE IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED. SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT AS SUCH. CAR WAS SERVICED AND POWER STEERING WAS WORKING JUST FINE FOR A 5 DAYS BEFORE THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" AND "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" CODE FOLLOWED WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF FIRST CODE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE ON THE 2010-2012 FORD FUSIONS, BUT THIS FUSION WAS MANUFACTURED JUST OUTSIDE THE WINDOW IN MAY OF 2012. I BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE COVERED UNDER THAT RECALL BECAUSE ITS THE SAME REOCCURRING ISSUES ON THIS YEAR OF FUSIONS.

AFTER ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR A VERY SHORT DISTANCE, AN ADDITIONAL MESSAGE OF "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" DISPLAYED AND THERE WAS A SMELL OF BURNT ELECTRONICS. THIS ISSUE APPEARED WITHOUT ANY WARNING.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
WHILE IN MOTION LESS THAN 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING AND BECAME STIFF AND VERY HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION. DECIDED TO PARK THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT AND HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED PREVIOUSLY IN WHICH THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PART WITH A REMANUFACTURED PART. HOWEVER, IN THE FIRST RECALL/REPAIR THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY CAUSE OF CONCERN OTHER THAN TO ADDRESS THE NATIONAL RECALL. NOW, THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE AND THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE DEFECTED PART. INSTEAD THEY WANT TO CHARGE $1,915 FOR A FAULTY REMANUFACTURED PART THAT HAS GONE OUT AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SEVERE HARM AND DAMAGE TO PERSONS IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. LAST WEEK I RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAGS ON MY VEHICLE. BEFORE I CALLED FOR AN APPOINTMENT, I CHECKED THE RECALL ON LINE AND NOTICED THE STEERING IS ALSO BEING RECALLED. TWO DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING, LIGHTS STARTED GOING OFF ON MY DASHBOARD. THE STEERING AND TSC LIGHTS WERE BLINKING AND RINGING. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO! I READ THE DASHBOARD WHICH SAID CHECK MY POWER STEERING FLUID, THER IS NO FLUID WELL??? I CALLED MY FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD ' WE WILL FIX THE AIRBAG, BUT HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THE STEERING ISSUES, MY CAR HAS NO RECALL FOR THAT' I TOLD THEM I WAS LOOKING RIGHT AT THE RECALL NOTICE, AND SINCE I WASN'T NOTIFIED, THEY CAN'T FIX IT. I TOLD HER I CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE THAT THE CAR WON'T STEER, SHE TOLD ME TO HAVE IT TOWED IN. I HAVE PURCHASED A 1990 BRONCO I, A 1999 FORD RANGER AND A 2007 ESCAPE FROM THIS SAME DEALER. THESE VEHICLES HAVE AS FOLLOWS: 660K,588K AND 290K MILES ON THEM. MY RANGER STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL MUFFLER. IS THIS THE WAY I SHOULD BE TREATED. IF THE CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR STEERING, WHICH YOU CAN EASILY SEE FROM THE TIRE WEAR, THAN WHY DOESN'T FORD STAND UP AND REPAIR IT, SINCE THERE IS A RECALL. I HAVE LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST WHILE DRIVING AND SYSTEM DEFAULTS TO MANUAL STEERING MODE. ERROR CODE C1277 IS THE ERROR CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. NOW EVERY TIME WE DRIVE OUR CAR WE HAVE TO DO MANUAL STEERING. FORD IS REFUSING TO FIX MY VEHICLE SINCE IT IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. A WEEK AGO I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAD JUST HAD A BELT REPLACED AND THOUGHT FLUID LEAKED AND WAS BURNING OFF, CHECKED UNDER MY HOOD AND COULDN'T SMELL ANYTHING. A FEW DAYS LATER MY BOSS TOLD ME MY TAIL LIGHT WAS OUT. I HAD JUST CHANGED IT A MONTH OR SO AGO, BUT WHEN I LOOKED AT MY LIGHT, THE BULB WAS BLACK, THE BASE YOU PLUG IT INTO IS BURNT AND THE PLASTIC ON THE ASSEMBLY IS MELTING. SWOLLEN LUG NUTS AS PER APPLE FORD OF RED LION. I HAD MY CAR IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND ROTATE THE TIRES. THEY WILL NOT ROTATE FOR FEAR OF BREAKING LUG NUTS.
