BRAKE PEDAL IS SOFT, AND TAKES LONGER TO STOP. HAD VEHICLE CHECKED - ALL BRAKE SYSTEMS FUNCTION CORRECTLY EXCEPT FOR ANTI-LOCK BRAKES-MODULATOR VALVE. SERVICE CENTER QUOTED $2282 TO REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY (# BE5Z2C215A). THE HIGH COST IS FOR 2010-2012 MODEL YEARS ONLY. THE COST DROPS SIGNIFICANTLY FOR THE 2014 FUSION. THE HIGH COST OF THIS SAFETY RELATED REPAIR, MAKES ESSENTIAL REPAIR UNAFFORDABLE. NHTSA OUGHT TO FORCE RELEASE OF AN AFFORDABLE PART, BASED ON SAFETY.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE DOESN'T WORK. DOOR CAN NOT BE LOCKED. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE 2013/2014 FUSION FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A FORM REGARDING THE AIRBAG SETTLEMENT. MY CONCERN IS THAT I AM DRIVING A CAR AROUND WITH A POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE OR DANGEROUS AIRBAG AND FORD HAS NOT RECALLED MY VEHICLE YET. I WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO ASSURE ME THAT MY AUTO SAFETY SYSTEM IS NOT GOING TO ENDANGER ME.
I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE AND AS I TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO FOLLOW THE CURVED DRIVEWAY, IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN IT RESULTING IN ME BACKING INTO THE YARD AND BARELY MISSING A TREE BEFORE I COULD GET THE VEHICLE STOPPED. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, IT WOULD SURELY HAVE RESULTED IN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. FOR THE POWER STEERING TO SUDDENLY FAIL WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD SHOULD RECALL THESE VEHICLES IMMEDIATELY!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND CAUSED IRREGULAR BRAKING. THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER (STAR FORD LINCOLN, 1101 S BRAND BLVD, GLENDALE, CA 91204) STATED THAT THE ABS CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TAKATA RECALL - STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED REPLACEMENT AIRBAG.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN A LIGHT POPPED UP SAYING "SERVICE STEERING". IT WAS FINE UNTIL I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND THEN STARTED IT LATER, WHEN IT WOULDN'T TURN WITHOUT EXCESSIVE FORCE.
POWER STEERING HAS FAILED 3 TIMES ON THIS CAR...WILL BE FINE THEN POWER STEERING ASSIST IS LOST AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING RACK 3 TIMES. LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING THEN AFTER TURNING VEHICLE BACK ON WILL NOT MOVE HAS TO BE TOWED.
SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW THERE IS NO POWER STEERING AT ALL AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 38,388 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $1,700 TO REPLACE IT. I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED SEVERELY IT THERE WAS OTHER VEHICLES IN THE AREA. IT WENT OUT UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN I WAS TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION. THAT SCENARIO DEFINITELY CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD. I HIT THE CURB SLIGHTLY AND MESSED UP MY FRONT BUMPER BECAUSE OF IT. LUCKILY I HAD ENOUGH STRENGTH TO TURN THE WHEEL AND NOT GOING OVER THE CURB OFF THE ROAD ITSELF. WHEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. IT DID A LITTLE JERK MOTION TO THE RIGHT RIGHT BEFORE IT COMPLETELY FAILED. I FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND I SHOULD GET A COMPLIMENTARY POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION REPLACEMENT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A LOT OF MODELS, BUT I AM YET TO RECEIVE ONE AND I KEEP CHECKING MY VIN PERIODICALLY. FOR A PERSON WITH A LACK OF STRENGTH, SENIOR CITIZEN OR YOUNGER TEEN, THIS COULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE HELP ME REGARDING THIS ISSUE. POWER STEERING FAILED AT START UP, VEHICLE DISPLAY STATED POWER ASSIST FAULT PUT IN REVERSE. ATTEMPTED TO BACK VEHICLE OUT OF PARKING SPOT BUT THE VEHICLE DIRECTION COULD NOT BE CONTROLLED. IMMEDIATE REMEDY WAS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO RESET. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ASAP FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT
I GOT A MESSAGE ON MY DASH THAT SAY, " SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW- ADVANCETRAC." THIS OCCURRED HAS I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM CREVE COEUR MO TO OFALLON MO, SO THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. MY STEERING WHEEL STIFFENED VERY TIGHTLY; I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN VERY WELL. THIS IS ALL THE INFORMATION I HAVE AS I AM STILL INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM.
POWER STEERING ASSIST LOSS WHILE DRIVING. I WAS IN DRIVE AT STOP SIGN IN THE CITY AND WHEN I WENT TO TAKE OFF AT ABOUT 25MPH, THE POWER STEERING LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON AND FLASHED SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW, AND IN THAT MOMENT THE STEERING OF THE WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO CONTROL.
WAS DRIVING AROUND 35 MPH AND HEARD A CLUNK. A FEW SECONDS LATER AND ANOTHER CLUNK. THEN HEARD A GRINDING NOISE AND THE LOSS OF TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON, SO I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AT WHICH POINT IT BECAME CLEAR THAT THE GRINDING NOISE WAS FROM ABS ENGAGING. SLOWED DOWN TO UNDER 25, AND IT STOPPED THESE ISSUES. SPED UP TO ABOVE 30, AND THE PROBLEMS REOCCURRED. AS THESE THINGS HAPPENED, IT BECAME HARDER TO STEER. CAR SYSTEM WAS MALFUNCTIONING IN SOME WAY TO THINK I WAS LOSING TRACTION AND THAT ABS NEED TO BE ENGAGED. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR ANY OF THIS AS I WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON A DRY (SUNNY, NO RAIN), STRAIGHT ROAD. EVENTUALLY THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. WAS ABLE TO FIND A PLACE TO PULL OVER BY KEEPING THE CAR UNDER 25 MPH (ANY SPEED ABOVE THAT SEEMED TO RE-ENGAGE THE ISSUE). EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS, LOSS OF TRACTION LIGHT AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC INDICATOR REMAINED ON. THIS ISSUE IS DANGEROUS AS IT MAKES THE CAR HARDER TO STEER AND CONTROL. I WAS LUCKY TO BE ON A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH NO OTHER TRAFFIC.
RECALL WAS ISSUED IN 2015 WITH 2 POSSIBLE ACTIONS: IF CAR HAD CAPTURED A DTC FOR POWER STEERING, REPLACE POWER STEERING COMPONENTS ON CAR, OR IF NO DTC WAS CAPTURED, UPDATE PROGRAMMING. THE LATTER WAS PERFORMED ON 9/9/2015. WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 10 YRS/150K MILES. THE VEHICLE HAD 99,419 MILES AT TIME. AT APPROXIMATELY 160K MILES (OCT 2018), THE CAR STARTED HAVING INCIDENTS WHERE THE POWER STEERING WOULD NOT FUNCTION. STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE SEEMED TO GET IT TO FUNCTION AGAIN FOR A TIME. FEARING SAFETY WHILE DRIVING, TOOK IT TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THEY FOUND THE RECALL, REFERRED US TO FORD DEALER. FORD DEALER SAID WE WERE OUT OF WARRANTY, SO COST FOR REPAIRS WOULD BE OURS TO SHOULDER. THEY DID RE-APPLY PROGRAMMING UPDATES. THE ISSUE CONTINUED. WE ESCALATED TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH A CALL ON 11/8 WITH SAME RESPONSE. REQUESTED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER. ON 11/9 WE TALKED AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS SAME. STILL UNSATISFIED, I REQUESTED SOMEONE TO ESCALATE CONVERSATION. THEY PROVIDED NAME AND ADDRESS OF CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGER. A LETTER WITH ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION HAS BEEN SENT (ATTACHED TO THIS COMPLAINT). HAVE REPAIRED THE VEHICLE AT OUR OWN COST IN MEAN TIME.

THE CONTACT CAUTIOUSLY COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PARKED IT AT HIS RESIDENCE DUE TO THE FAILURE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
RECEIVED SAFETY WARNINGS FROM FORD FOR TWO YEARS CAN NOT DRIVE MY GRANDCHILDREN IN MY CAR DMV CA NOTIFIED ME THE REPLACEMENT SHOULD BE FREE. NOW I AM GETTING CLASS ACTION NOTICES. I JUST WANT SAFE AIR BAGS. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO? SERRAMONTE FORD, COLMA IGNORED ANY REQUESTS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
2012 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. *LD *TR
WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE ON MY FUSION, THE DOOR HANDLE LET LOOSE AND I COULD NO LONGER GET OUT OF THE CAR. THE DOOR HANDLE IS APPARENTLY BROKEN. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY UNTIL LAST EVENING. APPARENTLY DOOR HANDLES ON DIFFERENT YEARS OF FUSION HAVE DONE THE SAME AND FORD REPLACED THEM. ALL OF THE CARS ARE THE EXACT SAME INTERIOR AS MINE APPEARS TO BE ON THE VIDEOS IN WHICH THIS BREAKAGE OCCURRED. I HAD JUST PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT AND HAD TO HAVE MY BOYFRIEND OPEN MY DOOR TO LET ME OUT OF THE CAR
WHILE DRIVING A WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON THE SCREEN ( SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW ) I PULLED OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO CONTINUE TO DPRIVE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND CALLED AAAP FOR A TOW.
I HAVE BEEN ON A 9 MONTH WAITLIST TO HAVE AIRBAG REPLACED. DEALER STATED NO PARTS. I AM VERY CONCERNED!
TIRES CONSTANTLY LOSE AIR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS THE TIRE SENSORS. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY CHECK OUT THE TIRES TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE INFLATED PROPERLY.
HAVE A 2012 FUSION SEL, HAVING SERVICE POWER STEERING, AS WELL AS SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC ISSUE. I NOTICED THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS UPON CHECKING MY VIN IT SAYS MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE RECALL JUST CURIOUS WHY THIS IS WHEN I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS SO MANY OTHERS, DOES NOT SEEM FAIR THEY GOT THERE'S FIXED, BUT I'M EXPECTED TO PAY.
TAKATA RECALL IT'S STATED THAT THIS RECALL WAS ACKNOWLEDGED JANUARY 2017. IT'S ALMOST BEEN 2 YEARS AND WE ARE STILL DRIVING AROUND WITH A POTENTIALLY FATAL RECALL NEEDING TO BE FIXED IN OUR CAR. I'VE BEEN INTO A FORD DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO THE REPAIR BECAUSE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE TO COME IN AND THE PARTS ARE NOT IN. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING AND SHOOTING METAL IS A PRETTY SERIOUS ISSUE AND WE WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE HAVING THIS ISSUE TAKEN CARE OF SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.

MAC HAIK FORD (10333 KATY FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77024, (713) 932-5000) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). UPON SPEAKING TO THE MANUFACTURER, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PROVIDED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL BEFORE THE CONTACT OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE REMEDY FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW RACK AND PINION OR STEERING COLUMN WAS NEEDED OR THE COMPUTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000. *DT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY HAVING NEW STEERING COLUMN INSTALLED. TAKATA RECALL. I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT TO SEE IF MY AIRBAGS ARE DEFECTIVE UPON AN ACCIDENT HAPPENING. I WOULD LIKE THEM CHECKED OR REPLACED NOW. WHY SEND THE INFORMATION IN THE MAIL TO ME ON 10/30/2018 THAT MY CAR COULD HAVE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS AND NOT HAVE THEM AT LEAST CHECKED OUT? GET REAL; MAKES NO SENSE. WHY CAUSE THIS WORRY TO SOMEONE AND NOT CORRECT IT?

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,000.
WE HAVE HAD THIS STEERING PROBLEM THREE TIMES ALREADY. WHEN DRIVING THE SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ADVANC TRAK. DRIVING NORMAL SPEED AND ON A NORMAL SMOOTH ROAD. THE POWER STEERING WORKS AFTER THIS UNTIL YOU TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP EACH TIME THIS HAPPENED AND ONE OF THOSE TIMES THEY HAVE RE-PROGRAMMED THE POWER STEERING UNDER A RECALL AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL HAPPENING AND JUST HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY. WE HAVE 115,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE NOW.

THIS IS THE 3RD COMPLAINT FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM INSIDE THE DOOR BROKE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE TWICE AND ONCE ON THE PASSANGER SIDE.THE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.IN AN ACCIDENT THE DOOR COULD FLY OPEN.THE RIGHT REAR DOOR LOCK ALSO BROKE ONCE.I HAVE HAD FORD REPAIR THE LEFT FRONT DOOR ONCE AND THE R FRONT .FORD WOULD ONLY PAY FOR THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR.THIS CAR WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT ON ANY OF THE DOORS.FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE LEFT FRONT AND THE RIGHT REAR DOORS.NOW THE LEFT FRONT DOOR IS BROKEN AGAIN. WHICH FORD SAID IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY.THE CAR HAS ONLY 68000 MILES.FORD CASE #16185723-S-5H6R8.

ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILURE. GENE LATTA FORD HANOVER, PA. SAID FORD WILL NOT FIX BECAUSE IT HAS MORE THAN 150 K MILES ON THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE JUMPED A CURB AND CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL AT A BUS STOP. THE INCIDENT BLEW OUT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DICK SMITH FORD (LOCATED AT 9505 E STATE RTE 350, RAYTOWN, MO 64133, (816) 353-1495), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
DURING DRIVING MY FUSION THE DAHBORD STARTED SHOWING THE ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM AND THE CAR BECAME HARD TO TURN LIKE I HAD NO POWER STEERING .I TOOK IT TO FORD AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR BUT I HAD MISSED THE RECALL DATE FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED AND THAT FORD WAS NOT OBLIGATE TO REPAIR IT THAT IT WAS MY PROBLEM.CALLED WERE I GOT THE CAR FROM THEY TOLD ME IT WAS REPAIRED BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SELL A CAR WITH A RECALL.ICALLED FORD AND GOT MY CALL PASSED AROUND AND STILL NO GOOD ANSWER TO WHY MY CAR IS STILL NOT UNDER RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS NOT FIXED PROPERLY BECAUSE THERE'S NO RESPOND WHY THE NEXT BUYER SHOULD BE STUCK WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.SHAME ON FORD.
MY POWER STEERING HAS A DEFECT IN IT. I HAD IT FIXED BACK IN DEC OF 2016 AND NOW ITS DOING THE SAME THING AS BEFORE. STIFFINESS IN TURNING AND MESSAGE ACROSS DASHBOARD. THIS IS THE SECOND TOME THIS HAS HAPPEN AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BECAUSE ITS ASKING TO GET SERVICEDS SOON AND SCREEN
I HAVE HAD TWO INSTANCES WHERE MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. ONE THE WARNING COMES ON, YOU HAVE NO TIME TO 'SERVICE' THE POWER STEERING. YOU IMMEDIATELY LOSE THE ABILITY TO STEER. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I ALMOST DROVE INTO A DITCH. LUCKILY, MY DAD TOWED IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, AND HE WAS ABLE TO RESET THE ERROR CODE. WELL, IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON SUNDAY. I WAS DRIVING, THE WARNING TO 'SERVICE POWER STEERING' POPPED ON AND I LOST CONTROL AGAIN. I WAS LUCKY THAT AGAIN I WAS NOT ON AN EXPRESS WAY, OR GOING OVER 30MPH. WHILE DOING MY RESEARCH ONLINE, I SEE THAT THERE ARE OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM.
IN 2015, THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2011-2012 CERTAIN TYPES OF FORD FUSIONS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE "SERVICE POWER TRAIN" WARNING HAS COME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE NO TIME TO PULL OVER. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I ALMOST ROLLED INTO A DITCH AS THERE IS NO TIME TO ACTUALLY SERVICE THE CAR BECAUSE THE WHEEL LOCKS UP IMMEDIATELY. ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28, MY CAR HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CANNOT COVER MY CAR BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS EXEMPT FROM THIS RECALL. THEY CLAIM THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO HELP, BUT CORPORATE WILL NOT LET THEM. I WAITED FOR 4 DAYS TO HEAR, SORRY, YOUR VIN NUMBER EXCLUDES YOU FROM THE RECALL. WHAT MAKES MY 2012 FORD FUSION SO DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER 2012 FORD FUSIONS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE VERY SAME ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING GEAR?
STARTING MY CAR EVERY MORNING, AND THE POWER STEERING DOESN'T WORK. I TURN THE CAR OFF AND START IT AGAIN TO GET IT TO WORK. TOOK IT IN FOR RECALL ONCE ALREADY. . FAN WON'T WORK AT ALL, JUST SMELLS HOT. FOR AC, HEATER, AND DEFROST.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING ABILITY WAS REDUCED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS SENSING OVER EFFORT AND SHUTTING DOWN THE POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (AL PACKER'S WHITE MARSH FORD, 9801 PULASKI HWY, MIDDLE RIVER, MD 21220, (443) 777-5000) AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWER STEERING MODULE, ALTHOUGH THEY RECOMMENDED IT BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,983.
The electrical power steering control system in my car failed, without which steering at low speeds and especially parking is more difficult. The problem was confirmed and assessed by a dealer during other repairs, but no other parties. When the incident occurred, it failed with no warning at car startup. The next car startup the power steering returned for about 2-3 weeks before going out again for good, again with no obvious warning after a startup. Seems to be the same or a similar issue described in campaign 15V340000 that applies to 2012 Ford Fusions, but evidently my VIN number appears to have been excluded from that recall according to Ford.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ERROR CODES LEAD TO LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AND ENGINE BEING THROTTLED BACK TO APPROX. 10 MPH IN "LIMP HOME MODE". ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT, AND NHTSA HAS STUDIED THE PROBLEM PREVIOUSLY. FORD SAYS MY ETB IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS, AND THAT I NEED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR FORD FUSION, AND FORD SUPPOSEDLY MADE A 10YR 150,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE PART....JUST NOT MY ETB.
A MASSAGE CAME UP SAYING SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW AND IT WENT OUT RIGHT ON THE ROAD. THEY HAD A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING SENSOR THEY REPLACED IT IN 2015 AND NOW IN 2018 ITS NOT WORKING AGAIN AND I AM HAVING TO PAY BIG MONEY TO FIX IT. I HATE THIS CAR IT JUST SEEMS TO HAVE TROUBLE I HAVE HAD 3 RECALLS ON IT. I AM A GRANDMOTHER AND I HAD THEM IN THE CAR YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO STEER WITHOUT POWER STEERING IT WAS SCARY. THERE'S GOT BE SOME WAY TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED RIGHT. WITH OUT PUTTING UP THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP. IT WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. TURNING IN A PARK IN LOT.
STEERING WENT OUT HARD TO STEER , IS THERE A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THIS
OCTOBER 12,2018 AS I'M LEAVING HOME AROUND 6:45 AM TO DROP MY DAUGHTER OFF AT DAYCARE AND HEAD TO WORK. THE SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON FOR THE POWER STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL IS MOLDING HARD TO TURN BUT NOT BAD ENOUGH WHERE I WAS STRUGGLING MUCH. I MADE IT TO WORK AS I LIVE ABOUT 15AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTERS DAYCARE. AROUND 4:50PM EST I CLOCKED AND TRIED TO LEAVE FROM WORK TO HEAD HOME AND I COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT IT'S ELECTRICAL SO THERE'S NO WAY FOR ME TO JUST ADD POWERING STEERING FLUID. MY MECHANIC WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PURCHASE A PUMP. CALLED FORD AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS NO PUMP AND IT'S SOMETHING ELECTRICAL AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT TO FORD FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. I SAW SOMETHING ONLINE THAT IT IS RECALLED FOR MY SPECIFIC CAR BUT BASED OFF MY VIN # THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE WHICH I FIND CRAZY AND MISLEADING.
WAS ON MY WAY TO PICK UP MY SON FROM SCHOOL, TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON, GOT THE CAR TURNED INTO SCHOOL, EVERYTHING WAS OK. TRACTION LIGHT WENT OFF FROM LEAVING THE SCHOOL, CAME BACK ON WHEN WE CAME TO A STOP LIGHT, THEN THE POWER STEERING ASSISTANT CAME ON, 'SERVICE SOON'. GOT HOME AND WAS GOING BACK TO WORK, COULDN'T TURN STEERING WHEEL. I JUST PARKED THE CAR. ONLY DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES BEFORE IT LOCKED UP. LUCKILY I LIVE LESS THAN A MILE FROM WORK. SEEN THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, DON'T KNOW IF THIS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THIS CAR, SINCE I BOUGHT IT USED. THINK MY FORD COMPANY SOLD ME A LEMON. BOO ON THEIR PART. FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WOULD COST $1800-$2500 DEPENDING IF I BUY USED OR NEW.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL; THEREFORE, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,888.
