I own a 2024 Honda Hybrid Sport CR-V. The automatic emergency brake will engage only after seatbelts have been engaged. If you have not engaged seatbelts and turn the engine off, the emergency brake will not turn on creating a roll away hazard. This happened to me. I jumped in my car, realized that I left something in the house, turned the vehicle off, and without realizing, left the vehicle in neutral. The vehicle rolled out of our garage and struck another car in the neighborhood resulting in at least six thousand dollars in damages. Fortunately, there were no injuries. This needs to be standard in vehicles that do not utilize ignition keys as I am sure I am not alone in that my protocol has long been to take the key out an ignition anytime I exit a vehicle and this is the first time I have owned a vehicle of this type. Our Honda Pilot will automatically place the vehicle in park if someone turns off the ignition, there is no reason for this or, at the very least, an auto emergency brake not to be an option in CR-V regardless of seatbelt actions. This should be a simple software fix.
Drivers seat wobbles and feels unstable. Upon breaking you can feel the seat wobble. It was compared and inspected to another vehicle were same movement was detected based on the dealers service department. No other signs detected. The seat wobbling was detected and first felt 3 weeks after purchase.
A crack appeared on the passenger side mirror for no obvious reason. It might have been caused by the temperature change from -2°C at night to 7°C in the morning, but I'm not sure. No impact signs, crack has curved U shape form.
Steering feels sticky when driving on the highway. If the lane assist is on, it makes it worse so I don't use it.
I took my son to school and there was frost on the mirror and windshield and used the defrost. Came home parried in a gated area. Not exposed to any other elements. And a few hours later went to run some errands and mirror on driver side was cracked. I believe it has to do with the heated defrost. No signs of crack or anything. It is now on back order. Not covered by warranty and I am unsafe driving as it gives double vision as I’m driving it obstructs my view especially when I want to change lanes. Very unsafe. I have found many people have been complaining of this same incident happening to them. And this is something Thant needs to be recalled. ASAP. I have not even had my car for a month and this is already an issue.
On March 09, 2024 as I was backing into a parking space, the rear vehicle wheels came into contact with the parking curb at which point the rear window shattered. The pieces of the window flew in many directions approximately up to 5 to 10 feet outside and into the rear cargo area of the vehicle where I had my dogs. Fortunately, there were no other persons around the vehicle at the time and my dogs were not harmed. Immediately after this incident, I called the car dealer where I originally purchased the vehicle, and was advised to bring it in. I thereafter brought the vehicle to the car dealer service center where they removed some of the remaining pieces still attached to the window area and covered the window with plastic. Thereafter I drove the vehicle home, returned with the vehicle to the dealer on March 12, 2024, and the dealer replaced the window on March 13, 2024 at which time I retrieved my vehicle and returned the loaner car to the dealer. The window appeared to be replaced with a different type of window than the original. I asked the dealer why this occurred, the response was that they did not know why and further stated that this issue of shattering rear windows occurred in the 2023 HR-V models, but they were not aware of an issue in the CR-V models. I purchased the vehicle on February 7, 2024 and prior to this incident I had no problems with the vehicle to include the rear window. The invoice from the car service center states that there were no signs of impact on the vehicle.
I bought my brand new 2024 CRV EX-L in March 2024. From day one the driver side mirror has vibrated at speeds of 40 or over. When I’m on the highway at 65-70 it moves so much it blurs the image. It is very difficult to look at the mirror while it moves and at night it is even more dangerous. I took it to the Service Center at Hamilton Honda in Hamilton, NJ and they said they noticed a slight vibration. However, they were not concerned because I could still see through the mirror. It was obvious they were aware and had likely heard of the issue before. Since they had no solution, they made it seem as if it was not a big deal and I should just live with it. Quite a disappointing experience from a serve department. I’ve had Toyotas and a Mazda and was always treated very well by their service departments. Frankly this experience with Honda was the worst. It seems that Honda has had the mirror issue with other vehicles in 2020-2022 and recalls were issued. Therefore, it appears Honda is aware of the safety issue regarding the mirror.
Shaky & Distorted Side Mirror (driver side). feels unsafe when viewing cars behind.
Driver side veiw mirror is distorted making images look out of focus. This defect make me feel sick when operating the vehicle.
I almost got into accident twice by using Auto Engine Stop/Start feature at traffic light. Traffic light was green and the car in front of me turned right but they were too slow to turn which I had to hit my break. Due to hitting my break, the car thought I was stop/idle so it turned Engine off. When the car turned Engine off, it basically got hiccups or stalls for few second and the car behind me almost hitting me as traffic light was green to go. You can only temporarily turn off this feature and it will default turn on when the car starts which will lead to accidents in matter of time if I forgot to turn it off every time I start the car. Honda should update software to allow customers to turn it off permanently if they want to instead default on.
The car horn that is supplied as part of this car is, in my opinion, very dangerous. The horn emits an audible sound that hardly gets attention from others, be they fellow drivers and or pedestrians. I an not at all comfortable driving this car with this horn. To this point, there are Honda dealers selling auxiliary horns to help combat the issue. YouTube has a number of people that have posted on the subject. Please take this issue seriously and force Honda to do something about it. Driver side mirror is distorted. When looking at the mirror, it makes me dizzy and nearly nauseous. The distorted visibility is definitely a safety concern.
While driving on the highway, my daughter experienced an issue that caused her to lose the ability to steer the vehicle. The vehicle went off of the road and into a guardrail causing damage to the left side of the car. Prior to losing the ability to steer, she thought she felt some strange shaking. Thankfully, she was not hurt and did not collide with any other vehicles. The situation could have ended much worse than it did. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident. The issue seems very similar to other issues that we have read about affecting 2024 CRVs and other Honda models that cause difficulty steering. Much like the issues we read about, this was a new vehicle with low mileage and during winter months.
When snow gets on the front Honda logo all safety functions shut down and a screen comes on and says “clean area showing) so I pulled over on the next off ramp and clean the snow and mush off the emblem and with in the next 10mi it comes back on.. this happened to me 4x coming from Fort Wayne Indiana to Noblesville Indiana. Went to the Honda forum and it a common problem. It wasn’t that bad out to be doing this.. No Cruise control No lane departure No auto braking No safety features at all until you clean the front logo
Driver side mirror got cracked itself . Car was parked in driveway and there was no crack in mirror until previous night. 2 days ago there was snow and temperature was around 30f. This seems to be safely hazard considering it’s now distracting while driving .
Recall dated Oct 3, 2024 improper produced steering gearbox worm wheel (NHTSA) not addressed, also Illegal Forced Entry is being made into Honda CR-V using vehicle Fob Keys are being made for all Honda CR-V wit a Fob Key Kit sold by AMAZON key kit made by Horand, forced Illegal entry is being made "everyday and while traveling" three visits have been made to Bell Honda Phoenix, who " Dealership Manager Denied any problem" and is NOT willing to make any repairs to Electrical System or reprogram system or key !
Warning lights (LKAS, Collision Mitigation, Road Departure Assist and Break System) suddenly went on as I was backing out of the driveway. No obstruction found on the vehicle upon checking. CR-V was with 2328 miles on it. Informed the dealer of the issue and got it serviced immediately. I was informed that the multipurpose camera needs replacement. Service Manager from the Honda dealer said that the vehicle is still drivable even with warning lights on and that the camera is on back order but the ETA is unknown.
Steering wheel on 2024 CRV hybrid was getting sticky and I noticed it while I was driving on the highway took it to dealer and dealer did say that the truck is unsafe to be driven steering rack needs to be replaced. There is no official recall, but part can take months to come in.
Went to sleep with car parked on driveway Woke up with passenger side view mirror cracked. No nicks or dings. Overnight Temps dropped to 20s.
Day #4 of ownership of brand new 2024 Honda CR-V Sport Touring, passenger side mirror cracked on a cold morning, approximately 18 degrees. Suspect heating element was too hot and the transition from cold to hot too rapidly caused a vertical crack from top to bottom that impairs vision. Called the dealer, part is on back order and they have no clue when it'll come in. Would not commit to tell me if it was under warranty or not.
Our complaint is in regards to the factory horn Honda is installing on the current generation of CR-Vs. After purchase one week ago of our 2024 model year, we noticed the horn was very faint. Believing it to be a defect, we researched online and found that it is as designed. The horn is so poor that dealers are selling "upgrade kits" and posting online videos on how to install. The standard horn comes as a single high-tone that is insufficient. These kits include a second low-tone horn and a y-splitter cable that will hook into the factory single high-tone horn. Once the low tone is installed, the horn sounds and functions as any vehicle should be expected to function. But otherwise, the factory single high-tone is inadequate and not safe. I have tested this by having my spouse behind me on the roadway in clear weather at night and stopped at a red light. The horn is very faint and not adequate enough to provide proper warning if needed. If I was not expecting the horn test from my spouse, I would not have thought it was a vehicle horn at all. Now consider adding in poor weather and driving at 70mph, the horn would do nothing to warn another driver from an improper lane change to avoid a collision. With over 10 years of law enforcement and traffic-related experience, I am asking that this matter be investigated and require Honda to issue a recall to bring their horns up to standard by providing the fix to owners at no charge to add the low-tone second horn so that the vehicle will sound a warning at a volume and depth as needed in everyday usage. Buyers should not have to pay to upgrade this most basic of safety equipment and does not provide good optics for Honda to cut costs in this way and increase margin for dealers as an aftermarket kit.
At about 6,000 miles I noticed that at higher speed over 40 mph, the steering felt as if it were 'sticky'. Steering felt like it would click and it is hard to keep wheel straight. It is progressively getting worse and makes it so I cannot drive straight without overcorrecting on either side constantly.
2024 CRV showing errors concerning brake assist and lane departure. 1647 miles. I had a 2023 Sport Touring CRV. Same messages appeared. At 10,300 miles, when being serviced at the dealership for an oil change, tire rotation, and two service bulletins, I was informed of an “embedded” code saying the main camera needed replacing. Looking online, Honda has an issue. This seems to be happening frequently.
The key fob unlocks ALL doors & the settings options does not give the option to just unlock the drivers door like it does on other models. Why? For me it's a safety issue. Dealer said to hit once to unlock just drivers door & twice to unlock all doors. They tried & it didn't work. They tried all the settings & that too didnt work. They were no help & said that's just how it was made. Poor choice for honda to leave out this model for this feature, yet give it to all their other models. For one person owning this, that's a safety issue for me.
My car still in Honda Collision Since January Waiting for Electronic Power steering Rack which they keep telling me is in backorder . Start to be so frustrating.
Steering seems to stick, causing overcorrection and almost causing loss of control. The vehicle is available for inspection. I came very close to losing control at highway speeds. The vehicle has not been inspected. There were no warnings and the problem seems to be getting more severe.
The side mirror developed a crack without any apparent impact damage. My vehicle was securely parked inside the garage, and I discovered the cracked mirror when I woke up in the morning. It appears to be a broader problem, as evidenced by a Reddit forum where individuals who have bought the 2024 Honda CRV are sharing similar experiences. Steering wheel feels very heavy and breaks response little bit slow.
Side driver mirror cracked obstructing view.
Side view mirror cracked without any impact. I started backing up, looked away and when I looked back the mirror was cracked. Nothing hit it or was even near it.
January 2024 Steering wheel suddenly became very hard to control while driving on interstate highway. Could not turn the wheel at all. Finally, I was able to steer onto the shoulder of the highway AFTER pressing the lane assist control button. February 29, 2024 Warning light on dashboard appeared- “Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. See Your Dealer” There is also a clicking/ creaking noise when turning the steering wheel. Seems to be worse when it is cold outside.
Windshield wipers throw out fluid when wipers are up. Windshield not cleaned properly from snow and dirt causing not to see the road. Snow is coming again.
Steering become very stiff and hard to maneuver during increasing speeds
Driver door side mirror cracked into 2 pieces. The Blind Side Assistance light still works. Just glass crack. Seemed to happen after or during a cold snap. It just showed up. I had been hearing a loud click or crack sounds from that area off and on while driving.
Rear View mirror crashed without any outside impact. Car was in standing and rear view mirror cracked without no external reason in a new car just withing 30 days. Honda probably used low quality mirror or assembly was not proper.
The supposedly “LED Headlights on this vehicle is very dim and very unsafe to drive. I have contacted Honda of Marysville Wa state about the headlights inability to provide light on the roads but was ignored. We almost had an accident because the headlights are so dim we almost hit another vehicle. This needs to be addressed by honda before something bad happens.
Newer CRV’s windshield wash fluid is delivered through a rubber hose /nozzle that ends on the metal wiper arm, and is exposed to extreme cold temperatures. Other vehicles hoses terminate in the hood, where they are kept warm by the heat radiating from the engine. We just drove cross country, experiencing below zero temps, on highways with heavy traffic and precipitation, with often frozen lines, resulting in really constant, poor visibility., The fluid being used is rated for -30, yet the lines still froze up.
The driver's side wiper doesn't completely clean/swipe the entire windshield and seems to stop short. The only time it completely swipes the windshield is if the windshield is completely wet and constant rain is falling. Otherwise, it stops short when misting and leaves streaks, affecting the driver's complete view of the road. Also, the windshield wiper fluid system seems to waste a lot of the fluid, and empties quickly. Not sure if it's a design flaw.
At about 4,500 miles I noticed at higher speed over 50 miles per hour a sticky steering wheel. Steering felt like it would click and hard to keep wheel straight. Constant back and forth to keep straight. Took the vehicle into AutoNation Honda Roseville on 1/5/24 with a mileage of 4,841. They determined after driving it that the EPS Gearbox needed to be replaced. This part is back ordered, and I still as of today 4/2/24 do not have the part replaced.
When driving in a straight line, the car pulls to the left, requiring me to correct the drift by steering the car to the right. There is a lot of effort put into correcting the gradual and progressive drifting of the car, especially during highway driving. Correcting the steering is a constant during the drive. The steering itself also feels "stiff." Much effort is needed to correct the steering, making it very difficult to traverse the roads, especially when quick and accurate response is needed to avoid debris on the road, potholes, other cars, and even simple tasks like lane change. This started happening even before the vehicle hit 1,000 miles on the odometer. Additionally, there were two occasions in which the power steering light came on the dash when remote starting the vehicle, but would turn off when cycling the car. The light came on once prior to the sticky steering issue and once more after having experienced the start of the sticky and stiff steering. I have not remote started the car since. The dealer has noted this, but could not find a reason why this is happening as a diagnostic check did not reveal any errors. Adding to the steering issue, there is a lot of effort needed to make right turns and left turns, even at low speeds. All of these issues could not be replicated by the dealer. However, the dealer did not take the vehicle on a prolonged drive nor on the highway at highway speed. The dealer has noted that if the problem persists, to take it back. It is still persisting. The car has 2,000 miles on it currently, and I have only had possession of this vehicle for one month.
I got in the car this morning and noticed what looked like a condensation drip at the top of my passenger side mirror. By the time I got to work, a full length crack was down the mirror. I pulled my cameras and nothing touched my mirror over night. I did a google search and others are reporting similar issues. this has a direct affect on visibility while driving. Given other complaints found this is a known issue, then Honda needs to do a recall.
I noticed that at approximately 45mph that my steering wheel started stick and then unstick resulting in the steering wheel jerking. Some occurrences are worse than others and it seems to be more noticeable while driving at highway speeds (45mph - 65mph). I researched this and found multiple forums with 2022 - 2024 Honda owners experiencing the same problem. I also noticed an open NHTSA investigation (Investigation: EA23003).
Steering has slight “sticky” feeling requiring extra pressure to turn steering wheel which is discomforting as it feels you are fighting it. This could result in an over correction to steering and moving out of lane into another vehicle or guard rail. This usually occurs at highway speed. The dealer has indicated that it is a known issue and will replace steering components when available. No warnings, messages or other symptoms prior to issues.
This hybrid model does not display red brake lights during regenerative braking, at any of the settings. I have have had two occurrences where the driver behind me was apparently not aware that my vehicle was slowing somewhat rapidly, and thus nearly drive into the back of my vehicle. One of those drivers mentioned that they did not see any brake lights even though I was slowing down, approaching an intersection. I can see how this might be a safety issue. IF Tesla can have this function on their cars software then why cannot Honda? My vehicle also has times when I am travelling on straight city streets with no traffic in front of me, where the automatic emergency braking come on quite firmly for a second or two, without any apparent reason. Again, this presents a possible safety hazard to the vehicles behind me who may be following a little closer than they should, and may possible drive in to the back of my vehicle. Again, I am not aware of any brake lights present on my vehicle when this happens. A big improvement would be in the manner in which the radar sees things and makes false applications of this braking system, as well as having teh vehicle brake lights activate when this system decides to engage.
I started experiencing "sticky" steering (steering binding) mostly at highway speeds after the car has completely warmed up. The vehicle has EPS (Electronic Power Steering). The vehicle has less than 3,000 miles on it. The problem started less than 1000 miles ago. This condition makes the steering feel "unsure" at times. It almost feels like an old car with manual steering, when the steering box is failing. I will be taking it to the dealer for evaluation. No warning lights present. The problem occurs even when ALL driver assistance, lane departure systems, etc., are disabled.
My vehicle had about 5,000 kms on it. I was driving back home from work where suddenly as I was driving the car started popping up a whole bunch of error messages saying power reduced go see your dealer, electric power steering assist problem go see your dealer, emissions system problem go see your dealer and much more. The care went into a limp mode where I couldn’t go faster than 30-40km/h if I recall correctly. This was very dangerous as I was on the highway and this was during winter. My drive to work in the morning there was no problem at all.
My driver side view mirror is blurry, making it difficult to safely switch lanes.
Steering wheel sticks when trying to turn. Major safety concern.
Sticky steering developed after 3500 miles. When making minor adjustments, extra resistance was felt causing over adjustment sometimes.
We are having issues with our new CRV hybrid. We hear clicking sound whenever we are on uphill curvy road. Another issue is the driver’s side mirror appears distorted/blurry.
