THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BENTLEY HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 3805 UNIVERSITY DR, HUNTSVILLE, AL 35816, (256) 713-0505, WHERE THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SERRA HYUNDAI (1201 CENTER POINT PKWY, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35215, 205-588-4246) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER WAS FAULTY. THE STARTER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.
BRAKES LOCK ON CAR. THE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED WITHOUT PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKES WILL LOCK AND THE CAR IS NOT ABLE TO GO WITHOUT PRESSING HARD ON THE GAS. THIS HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 06/17/2018. THE BRAKES LOCKED AGAIN AND YOU COULD SEE SMOKE COMING FROM A SMALL FIRE BY THE BRAKE AREA AT THE FRONT WHEELS. THE CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN.
ON JUNE 15, 2018, MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 70, NEAR GREENVILLE, ILLINOIS. THERE WAS NO WARNING, JUST A NOISE SIMILAR TO A LOOSE PIECE OF PLASTIC. BLACK SMOKE BILLOWED FROM BEHIND THE VEHICLE, AND AS I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OVER, THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. ONCE WE WERE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE FROM UNDER THE ENGINE. WE CONTACTED 911. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. THIS CAR HAD VARIOUS RECALLS, ALL DEEMED 'RESOLVED' BY HYUNDAI. THEY DID EXTEND THE WARRANTY DUE TO THE KNOWN ISSUES. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THEM DAILY AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, TWO DEER SUDDENLY LANDED ON THE HOOD AND TWO OTHER DEER COLLIDED AGAINST THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. NONE OF THE FRONTAL OR SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS DID NOT RESTRAIN THE OCCUPANTS. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT 'S RESIDENCE. APPROXIMATELY FOUR DAYS LATER, THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AND 17V152000 (SEAT BELTS). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (AUTONATION HYUNDAI CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS, 6686 S PADRE ISLAND DR., CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, (361) 444-0156) WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED PER THE RECALL; HOWEVER, THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED AND THE SEAT BELT RECALL WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
HEADLIGHTS GO OFF WHEN USING TURN SIGNAL. VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN MOTION FOR THIS TO OCCUR. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, INSIDE DASH LIGHTS WILL USUALLY BE BRIGHTER - THE SAME AS WHEN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION. THIS PRESENTS A GREAT RISK FOR NIGHTTIME DRIVING. NOT ONLY ARE YOU WITHOUT EXTERIOR LIGHTING, BUT YOU ARE ALSO BLINDED FROM THE SUDDEN CHANGE OF INTERIOR LIGHTING. I BELIEVE THE FAULTY PART IS THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH BECAUSE IT CAN BE TAPPED OR QUICKLY TURNED OFF AND BACK ON TO GET THE HEADLIGHTS TO COME BACK ON. SOMETIMES THE TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT EVEN NEED TO BE ACTIVATED FOR THE HEADLIGHTS TO TURN OFF - ONLY TOUCHED. IT MOSTLY OCCURS WHEN SIGNALING TO TURN LEFT.
MY BRAKES LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING IN MID AIR. THIS CAN POSE A DANGER TO OTHER DRIVERS WHO ARE RIDING BEHIND ME WITH MY VEHICLE HAVING NO BRAKE INDICATION. THIS HAPPENED IN MY 2009 SANTA FE AND HAD MULTIPLE REAR ENDS. THIS IS A BIG CONCERN FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILIES SAFETY AS WELL AS OTHER.

MAIN ST, MERCED, CA 95340) WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN UNDER AN INCOMPLETE/IN PROCESS RECALL FOR OVER 2 YEARS. I'VE RECEIVED NUMEROUS IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICES FROM HYUNDAI LETTING ME KNOW OVER TIME 'THE FUEL FEED LINE CONNECTING THE LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP TO THE DIRECT INJECTION FUEL PUMP IN THE SUBJECT VEHICLES COULD DEVELOP A SMALL CRACK OVER TIME DUE TO AMBIENT HEAT IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. A DAMAGED FUEL LINE COULD ALLOW FUEL TO LEAK, INCREASING THE RISK OF AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.' AS PART OF AN PRODUCT 'IMPROVEMENT' CAMPAIGN LAST YEAR I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO HAVE A LIGHT SENSOR INSTALLED THAT IS SUPPOSED TO NOTIFY ME SHOULD THERE BE AN ISSUE AS WELL AS SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN, I BELIEVE. I HAVE RECEIVED YET ANOTHER NOTICE TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS BEING TAKEN CARE OF. HYUNDAI SHOULD ALLOW OWNERS TO TRADE IN FOR A VEHICLE OF LIKE KIND AND QUALITY SINCE THIS RECALL IS 2+ YEARS IN THE MAKING AND IS INSTILLING FEAR IN ANYONE DRIVING VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. REPEATED NOTICES ALERTING OWNERS OUR CARS COULD CATCH ON FIRE IS NOT A SOLUTION.

I HAVE NEVER NEEDED TO REPLACE MY BRAKE LIGHTS SO THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL ONES MY CAR CAME WITH. AFTER BEING INFORMED MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE OUT WHEN I WENT TO CHECK THEM THE LIGHT BULBS WERE MELTED TO THE SOCKET AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANY REPLACEMENT LIGHT BULBS TO WORK EVEN WITH NEW SOCKETS.
I WOS DRAVING ON THE HAIWAY 75 SOUTH TAMPA. AND THE MOTOR STOP WORKING. AND THE MECANIC SED THE MOTOR HAVE PROBLEM ON PISTON # 2. AND NOW I HAVE NEW MOTOR ON MI CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 11368681. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
I WAS DRIVING TO PICK UP MY FRIEND AND HER SON, WHEN I NOTICE THE CAR WAS REVVING UP AS IF IT WAS IN THE WRONG GEAR. THEN IT GOT WORSE AS I KEPT DRIVING BECAUSE THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK AS I TRIED TO PULL OFF, AND WHEN IT CHECKED THE GEAR, IT WAS STUCK IN THE FOURTH GEAR. AFTER RUSHING TO GET BACK HOME MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I STARTED SEARCHING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG. I NOTICED A PREVIOUS RECALL BUT WHEN I TOLD KEY HYUNDAI ABOUT THE PROBLEM, I WAS TOLD MY VIN NUMBER WAS COVERED BY THE RECALL
THE ISSUE STARTED TO OCCURRED RECENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHED 98,000MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I DID A LITTLE TROUBLESHOOTING MYSELF AND REALIZE WHERE THE NOISE (CLUNK) WAS COMING FROM. I CAME TO A CONCLUSION THE STEERING COLUMN COUPLER , A RUBBER MATERIAL THAT SIT BEFORE THE STEERING SHAFT WAS GOING BAD. WE NEVER RECEIVED BY MAIL THAT HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA WAS CONDUCTING SUCH RECALL AND THAT IT WAS IMMINENT TO GET IT CHECK OUT. BUT THEY ADDED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS EXPIRED FROM SUCH RECALL. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DEALERSHIP.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN OCT 2014 I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE LIGHTS. I CAN BE DRIVING AND THEY CUT OFF. I CAN TURN ON MY TURN SIGNAL AND THE LIGHTS GO OUT. OR I'LL BE DRIVING AND THE INSIDE LIGHTS COME ON BY THEMSELVES. WHEN I DRIVE MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKES.
THE HEADLIGHTS POINT AT THE GROUND LESS THAN 30 FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT LEVEL AND EVEN. LEFT HEADLAMP IS BRIGHTER THAN THE RIGHT HEADLAMP I MUST USE HIGH BEAMS TO SEE AT NIGHT. DEALERSHIP STATES THEY CANNOT ADJUST THE HEADLIGHT LEVELS OR 'REPLICATE' THE PROBLEM...IT CAN BE SEE BY DRIVING UP TO A WALL WITH LIGHTS ON. THREE OTHER PEOPLE/FRIENDS REPLICATE THE ISSUE DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING WITHOUT ISSUE.
FUEL LEAK/ FUEL SMELL / LOSS OF FUEL AFTER FILLING THE TANK TO FULL MARK

ALSO, THE RPMS INCREASED AND THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER, TURNED IT OFF AND RESTARTED IT, SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS NOT REGISTERING A POSITION SUCH AS DRIVE OR PARK. AT TIMES, THE VEHICLE FAILS TO DOWNSHIFT. THE CONTACT CALLED DRIVETIME USED CARS (8341 INDIANA AVE, RIVERSIDE, CA 92504, (951) 353-2277) WHERE SHE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO PEP BOYS IN SAN BERNARDINO, CA WHERE IT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
IN JULY 2019 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA AS I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED. AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER 2019 VEHICLE DID SAME THING. PRIOR TO THAT AS I WOULD PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURN OFF ENGINE THE SHIFT NOB WOULD NOT COMPLETELY BE IN PARK POSITION. IT WOULD MAKE A NOISE LIKE IT SHIFTED. TOOK IT TO HUYNDAI DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE ABLE TO APPROVE WARRANTY FOR ENGINE,BUT THEN STATED IT WAS GOING TO NEED NEW TRANSMISSION. AND THAT THE 3RD SHIFT WAS DIFFICULT. AS I LOOK UNDER RECALLS I SEE THAT CAMPAIGN RECALL 123 WAS DONE 2014. HOWEVER UPON RESEARCHING CAME ACROSS IF DEALERSHIP REPAIRED A RECALL AND IT FAILED THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY I WAS NOT GETTING ANYWHERE WITH CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND GETTING RECALL CAMPAIGN 123 REPAIRED.. I NEEDED VEHICLE RUNNING TO GET TO WORK SO SINCE HYUNDAI DIDN'T WANT TO REPAIR SOMETHING THEY SUPPOSEDLY BILLED OUT. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR TRANSMISSION REPAIR.
LOST CONTROL OF CAR ON MINOR ICE PATCH ON THE INTERSTATE. WHEN IT FINALLY CAUGHT TRACTION, IT WAS SLUNG INTO THE SIDE OF A SEMI TRUCK TRAVELING AT 75 MPH, BUT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED, THE FRONT END WAS DESTROYED, AND THE CAR WAS TOTALED. CAN OBTAIN CRASH REPORT AND BETTER PHOTOS IF NEEDED, JUST DON'T HAVE THEM ON ME AT THE MOMENT.
TAKATA RECALL, MY ENGINE HAS A VERY SERIOUS SHAKE, IT ONLY HAPPENS EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE AND THE CAR IS ALWAYS WARM BEFORE SO I KNOW IT'S NOT JUST COLD. WHEN IT SHAKES MY VOICE EVEN SHAKES IT'S SO BAD. I HAVE PULLED OVER AND LIFTED THE HOOD TO FIND THE ENTIRE ENGINE SEVERELY SHAKING. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. VERY UNSAFE.
HEADLAMPS AND TAILLIGHTS CONTINUES TO GO OUT BEEN UP TO THE DEALERSHIP OVER 7X THIS YEAR.
To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my concern regarding my 2014 Hyundai Sonata, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): [XXX] , which is currently experiencing excessive oil consumption. I have recently become aware of Recall Campaign 162, which addresses a manufacturing defect that can lead to premature engine wear and related issues. Despite regular maintenance and proper care, my vehicle consumes an abnormal amount of oil, causing me to frequently top off the oil between oil changes. This not only increases my maintenance costs but also raises serious concerns about the safety and reliability of my vehicle. **A trusted service provider has confirmed that the oil consumption in my vehicle is abnormal and is likely related to the defects outlined in Recall Campaign 162.** As stated in the recall, the machining errors during the engine manufacturing process can restrict oil flow to the bearings, leading to premature bearing wear. Although my vehicle does not currently exhibit any visible oil leaks, the oil consumption issue suggests underlying damage that could potentially lead to engine failure. Considering the potential risks and the known issues with the Theta II engine, I kindly request that my vehicle be inspected and, if necessary, repaired under the terms of Recall Campaign 162. I AM HAVING TO REPLACE TAIL LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHT BULBS FREQUENTLY. IF NOT MISTAKEN I AM CHANGING A BULB OUT EVERY MONTH ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAD TO PURCHASE NEW TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES DUE TO THE BULB MELTED THE PLASTIC HOUSING AND THE NEW BULB WILL NOT LOCK IN. I ALSO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT AND TURNING BACK ON. I WAS PULLED OVER 3 WEEKS AGO, DUE TO HAVING A HEAD LIGHT OUT, BUT WHEN THE OFFICE WALKED TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE HE APOLOGIZED AND SAID IT WAS BACK ON. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN STOPPED DUE TO EITHER MY HEAD LIGHTS OR TAIL LIGHTS BEING OUT AND MAGICALLY TURNING BACK ON. ON GOING ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
TOTAL CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE WILL DRIVING SLOWLY IN A PARKING LOT, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR, FOLLOWED BY A WARNING LIGHT TO STOP AND HAVE VEHICLE SERVICED, AND ANOTHER WARNING HYBRID SYSTEM FAILURE.

THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. AFTERWARDS, IT WAS OBSERVED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NO LONGER PROVIDED ACCURATE INFORMATION FOR THE FUEL GAUGE OR MILES PER GALLON. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,226.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE ONCE EXPERIENCED A MYSTERIOUS ENGINE STALL FOR MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAR. I WAS TAKING A RIGHT TURN AT A STOPLIGHT, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND I COULD NOT CHANGE THE DRIVE STATUS FROM DRIVE TO PARK. I JUST HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR. LUCKILY I WAS NOT IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
WHEN I GO TO SWITCH LANES WHILE DRIVING THE LONGER LIGHT TURNS ON AND THE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATES. IT LOOKS LIKE ITS HAVING ISSUES. IT HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE. AND I DECIDED TO REPORT IT BECAUSE I WAS IN BACK OF A POLICE CAR TODAY AND IT WAS EMBARRASINF HE ASKED ME WHAT WAS WRONG. AND ITS A NEW CAR. BOUGHT IT FROM CARMAX.
VEHICLE IN MOTION, SEATBELT RETRACTOR DID NOT SAFELY PERFORM. AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AT THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT WHERE I REARENDED A UTILITY TRUCK ON A RESIDENTIAL ROADWAY (TWO LANE). CAR WOULD BE CANT RESELL IN THE FUTURE IF THEY DONT FIX. A WARNING STICKER THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY PUT ON BY A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HELP WITH CAR VALUE. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK, HEAD LIGHTS TURN OFF SPORADICALLY. AT THE SAME TIME, INTERIOR DASH LIGHTS BRIGHTEN AS THOUGH DAY-TIME MODE IS INITIATED. USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN TURN SIGNAL IS BEING ENGAGED/DISENGAGED, HOWEVER IT ALSO HAPPENS RANDOMLY ON ITS OWN. CAN BE DISORIENTING TO DRIVER. MAY BE CONSTRUED BY OTHER MOTORISTS AS A NUISANCE OR THREAT.

THE CAR WAS TOKEN THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT, SINCE THEY HAD TOLD US THEY HAD SOME REPAIRING TO DO BUT THE CAR STAYED THE SAME. THE ENGINE MAKES A VERY UNPLEASANT NOISE, EVERY TIME. WITH THE STEERING WHEEL, WHILE TURNING LEFT, IT SEMI GETS STUCK. IN ORDER FOR THAT TO NOT HAPPEN, YOU BASICALLY HAVE TURN IT RIGHT AWAY. IT IS AT VERY HIGH RISK DUE TO THE FACT THAT IF IT WOULD MANAGE TO GET STUCK, IT MAY CAUSE AN UNNECESSARY ACCIDENT. WHEN IT COMES TO THE WHEELS, EVERY TIME IT TURNS LEFT OR RIGHT IT MAKES A VERY ROCKY NOISE. WE HAVE CALLED TIME AND TIME FOR A REPARATION OR TO AT LEAST HAVE SOMETHING DONE. NO ONE HAS SEEMED TO REALLY CARE NOR CATCH THEIR ATTENTION.
I WENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE, AND THEY LISTENED TO MY ENGINE FOR THE ENGINE RECALL. I TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT IT WAS THE NOISIEST STARTING CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I BELIEVE THEY OUT AN OIL ADDITIVE IN IT TO QUIET MY ENGINE BEFORE TESTING IT TO TRY TO AVOID REPLACING THE ENGINE. IT IS SUDDENLY THE QUIETEST STARTING CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. THIS UPSETS ME GREATLY, AS I BELIEVE THEY ARE NOT HONORING THE ENGINE RECALL BY USING AN ENGINE QUIETING ADDITIVE. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON CARS FOR OVER 40 YEARS. I AM VERY JN HAPPY THAT THIS IS HAPPENING.

TAKATA RECALL - CAR IS BLOWING OUT SMOKE - IN 700 MILES IT HAS LOST 2 QUARTS OF OIL, IT HAS UNDER 50K MILES, IT IS COVERED UNDER 2 DIFFERENT RECALLS THRU HYUNDAI BUT THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, WHEN YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE - THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN BLOW SMOKE OUT THE BACK - SO MUCH THAT YOU THINK THE CAR IS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE, WE HAVE HAD IT IN THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES ALREADY - CONTACTED THEM OTHER TIMES IN BETWEEN. NOW WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AT JUST 1 RPM SMOKE COMES OUT THE BACK CAR STARTS SHAKING LIKE ITS GOING TO STALL OUT CHECK ENGINGE LIGHT COMES ON - A FEW SECONDS LATER BIG CLOUD OF SMOKE COMES OUT BACK AND CAR WILL THEN MOVE LEAVING TRAILS OF SMOKE BEHIND. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. HYUNDAI SAID UNLESS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON - IT WONT MATTER. THEY JUST WANT US TO DO A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST - THE ENGINE IS MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE. HYUNDAI HAS HEARD IT TOO. WE LEAVE SO MUCH SMOKE THAT WE CANT SEE A CAR BEHIND US. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY WAS FAULTY AND UNCERTIFIED, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS AND BREAKLIGHTS ON THW PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE KEEP BLOWING. I HAVE CHANGED THEM OUT SEVERAL TIMES AND NEED TO CHANGE MY BREAK LIGHT OUT AGAIN NOW. IT IS GETTING TO BE AN EXPENSIVE PROBLEM.
WE WERE DRIVING TO HESPERIA IN THE POURING RAIN JUST PASSING THE CAJON PASS ON THE FREEWAY WHEN WE HEARD A KNOCKING COMING FROM THE ENGINE & MOVED OUR WAY OVER TO THE SLOW LANE & MADE OUR WAY OFF THE FREEWAY. UPON EXITING THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING & WOULD NOT RESTART. WE LUCKILY MADE OUR WAY OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO PULL OVER & HAD TO WAIT OVER 2 HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK TO TOW US 62 MILES HOME.
OUR 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS 4-DOOR SEDAN CAME EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO SOLUS KH 25 TIRES, SIZE 205/65R16. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 27,000 MILES. WHEN REMOVING A FLAT TIRE, I NOTICED THAT SMALL CHUNKS OF RUBBER WERE COMING OFF OF THE TIRE. I THEN CHECKED THE OTHER THREE TIRES & FOUND THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME OF THOSE RUBBER CHUNKS COMING OFF WERE ALONG THE EDGES & SOME WERE IN THE CENTRAL PART OF THE TIRES. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER & WAS REFERRED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, KAUFFMAN TIRES IN THIS CARE. THEY CLAIMED THAT THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE SO THEY STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE EXCEPT TO SELL ME NEW TIRES & OTHER CAR SERVICES. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS IS ABNORMAL FOR TIRES TO BE FAILING AFTER ONLY APPROXIMATELY 27,000 MILES. SINCE I'M CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY, I WILL BE REPLACING ALL FOUR TIRES BUT NOT WITH KUMHO TIRES. I CERTAINLY NEVER BUY THAT BRAND OF TIRE &, WILL CHECK TO SEE WHAT BRAND OF TIRES ARE ON ANY CAR THAT I WILL BUY IN THE FUTURE TO BE SURE THAT THEY AREN'T KUMHO TIRES
