TRANSMISSION HESITATES FROM THE START OF DRIVING IN MOTION
THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO MOVE AND THEN FREQUENTLY STALL (ABRUPTLY LOSE POWER) WHEN ACCELERATING TO GO FROM A STOP. IT WAS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN, AS IT WOULD STALL IN THE PATH OF ONCOMING VEHICLES. IT WAS ALSO A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM WHEN THE CAR BEHIND MINE WOULD ACCELERATE TO GO, AFTER IT APPEARED I WAS MOVING, AND WOULD THEN NEED TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION TO NOT REAR-END MY CAR AS IT STALLED MOMENTARILY. AFTER STALLING, THE VEHICLE WOULD EITHER LUNGE FORWARD SUDDENLY, OR I WOULD HAVE TO RELEASE AND QUICKLY REAPPLY THE ACCELERATOR. I ALSO EXPERIENCED THREE OCCASIONS WHEN THE CAR WOULD MOVE FORWARD WHILE IT WAS IN REVERSE GEAR. BOTH OF THOSE ISSUES ALSO CREATED SOME VERY SCARY CLOSE CALLS.
The engine sustained a crack and oil was leaking out of a cylinder. Initially thought to have been an oil problem since the check oil light would come on. Vehicle was taken to a dealer where they determined it was a bad cylinder. They did not have the correct tools to get into the block so they kept the vehicle for over a month. They returned the vehicle back and shortly after the issue started to happen again. The engine was knocking really loud and cannot accelerate over 40 miles an hour. We took it back to the dealer where they determined that it was a faulty engine and had requested all of the oil change and maintenance records. This vehicle had been taken back to the dealership on multiple occasions for routine maintenance. Talking to the maintenance technicians they could not find any record of us taking the vehicle there mentioning that the dealership had changed hands. We had records from oil changes at one other location but the dealership deemed negligence for the engine failure. This is about a three-year-old case and car was ay 109,00 miles
SEVERAL TIMES NOW WHEN MY CAR IS AT A COMPLETE STOP, AND I TRY TO PRESS THE GAS THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE FOR AT LEAST 2-3 SECONDS AND THEN WHEN IT DOES BEGIN TO MOVE, IT CREEPS ALONG. IT IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA IF MY CAR WILL BE FAST ENOUGH TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY. SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE HAD TO BACK UP WHEN I REALIZED MY CAR WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE GAP WHEN TURNING LEFT, OR I HAVE MISSED A LIGHT BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE SECONDS ON END. THIS IS ONE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INTO A LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENT. ONE INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED WAS WHEN I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PULL ONTO THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR WAS STATIONARY. WHEN I BEGAN TO PULL OUT, MY CAR WAS LAGGING TERRIBLY, TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD MISSED A VERY CLEAR GAP AND HAD TO BACK UP QUICKLY AND OUT OF THE WAY OF AN ONCOMING CAR THAT WAS TRAVELING AT AT LEAST 60 MPH. NOT ONLY WAS THIS DANGEROUS BECAUSE I HAD NO SPEED TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY, I FELT LIKE A SITTING DUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTER I FOUND ANOTHER OPENING TO PULL OUT, MY CAR STILL DID NOT REACT QUICK AND IT WAS CRAWLING UNTIL IT HIT ABOUT 30 MPH, WHICH ON A HIGHWAY IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUSS SPEED TO BE TRAVELING AT.
Car hesitates when accelerating from a complete stop and the car will jerk when driving at low speeds while accelerating.
FEB 2020 DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 70 ENGINE SEIZED WITH OIL SPRAYING OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR WITH NO WARNING (LIGHT) OF ISSUE FROM THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. VEHICLE HAS UNDER 50,000 MILES. WARRANTY DID NOT COVER ENGINE ISSUE (APPEALED 3X'S) PAID OUT OF POCKET FOR A NEW SHORT BLOCK ENGINE. HAVE NOT DRIVEN MUCH DUE TO QUARANTINE COVID-19 & EMPLOYEE CUT BACKS AT THE DEALERSHIP. RECENTLY (TODAY) RETURNED FROM A SHORT A TRIP (APPROX 150 MILES ON PA TURNPIKE) WITH OIL SPRAYING OUT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE AGAIN. LUCKILY, THE ENGINE DID NOT SEIZE THIS TIME BUT IT WOULD HAVE IF I KEPT DRIVING. REGARDLESS, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS & UNSAFE. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI AGAIN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SO CALLED 'SAFE' VEHICLE TO ANYONE. *TR
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated he noticed the vehicle was consuming oil. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and had an oil consumption test completed on the vehicle. The dealer stated no failure was detected. The contact stated he continued to experience the failure and had to add oil to the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a second local dealer; Billion Auto - Hyundai in Sioux Falls (3401 W 41st St, Sioux Falls, SD 57106:(605) 309-0972) and had an oil consumption test completed on the vehicle but never received the results. The contact stated the catalytic converter failed in November of 2021. The contact took the vehicle to a third local dealer; Dutch Miller Hyundai (1202 Washington Ave, Huntington, WV 25704: (681) 347-6646) who replaced the catalytic converter. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated he continued to experience the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine). The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer and had the recall remedy completed. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,379.
TOOK MY 2017 TUCSON TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS HESITATION/ SPUTTERS ISSUE AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. THEY KEEP WANTING TO CLEAN THE FUEL INJECTORS SO THEY WANT TO MAKE MORE MONEY. OBVIOUSLY THIS DID NOTHING AND THE HESITATION KEEP RECURRING. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE IT'S HAPPENING TO ME AND OTHERS. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND DO NOT TRUST THIS CAR NOR THE DEALERSHIP. THIS PROBLEM STARTED RIGHT AFTER I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2017, TOOK IT IN AND TOLD ME NOTHING WAS WRONG. I AM THE ONLY OWNER AND WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH IT. *TR
WHEN ON ANY HILL (REVERSING OR FORWARD), IN HEAVY BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, AND IN SOME INTERMITTENT SITUATIONS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES A LOSS OF POWER. THE SCARIEST PART OF THIS IS THAT THE CAR JOLTS QUICKLY ONCE IT FINALLY "FINDS A GEAR" AND DECIDES TO GO. WHEN MY CAR DIES BECAUSE IT CAN'T DEAL WITH SLOWER BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, THERE'S A PROBLEM! WHEN I'M TRYING TO BACKUP ON A HILL AND THERE'S AN OBJECT BEHIND ME AND I NEARLY HIT IT BECAUSE I CAN'T GET THE CAR TO GO, IT'S A PROBLEM. IT'S A MANUFACTURERS PROBLEM THAT YOU AND THEY KEEP IGNORING! JUST LIKE THE FIRES THAT THEY IGNORED FOR YEARS. THE DEALERSHIPS REPORT TO HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS THAT THIS IS NORMAL. IT IS NOT NORMAL. FROM WHAT I HAVE FOUND IN MY RESEARCH, IT'S CAUSED BY A COUPLE OF THINGS. THE FUEL FILTER IS CONSTANTLY DIRTY FROM WHATEVER FUEL TANK COATING HYUNDAI USED ON THE INSIDE OF THE FUEL TANK THAT IS FLAKING OFF. THE SECOND REASON IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DCT. IT SHOULD BE ENGAGING THE 1ST GEAR AND IT'S NOT. IT SHOULD BE SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS AN UPDATE WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEMS BUT HYUNDAI DOESN'T CARE ABOUT KEEPING THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFE. IT'S RIDICULOUS THAT HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND NOTHING IS DONE. NOT AN INVESTIGATION UNTIL THEY GET ENOUGH AND SOMEONE PAYS A LAWYER TO DO IT.BECAUSE THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME, I AM PUTTING THE ESTIMATED DATE OF PURCHASE LIKE OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE DONE ON HERE.
FRONTAL SIDE WAS BADLY HIT BY OTHER PASSING CAR .IN A CROSSROADM..THE VEHICULE WAS WRECKED BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLYED. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI USA AND THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT HYUNDAI PR. CREATED A CASE #3830 BUT THE INVESTIGATRO CLOSED THE CASE WITHOUT NOTICE OR INSPECTING THE DAMAGED OR CLAIM
1. LOST OF POWER/ACCELERATION WHEN IN DRIVE MODE, HAS HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES BUT TOLD BY SERVICE DEPT, NOTHING IS WRONG DURING THEIR TEST DRIVES. 2. DRIVER DOOR DOES NOT OPEN ON THE OUTSIDE, HAS TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. 3. SMELL OF EXHAUST INSIDE CABINET. HAVE BEEN TURNED AWAY FROM DEALER SERVICES DUE TO WARRANTY COVERAGE. Excessive oil consumption for years now. Up to 2 qts/week based on average driving 700-1000 miles driven per week
SHORTAGE IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.. NEVER HAD SO MANY BULBS BLOWN OUT ON 1 CAR - BRAKE LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHTS. NOW THERE IS A SHORTAGE IN THE HOOD... THE FAN KEEPS GOING EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, CLICKS A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THE FAR STARTS UP AGAIN. *TR
MY HYUNDAI TUCSON HAS APPROXIMATELY 67000 MILES ON IT. I HAD IT IN PRIOR TO WARRANTY EXPIRING FOR ENGINE NOISE. I WAS TOLD NOISE WAS NORMAL.ANS NO SERVICE NEEDED. I HAD THE NEXT ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND NO ISSUES NOTED. I CHECKED MY OIL 2 DAYS AGO AND I ROUTINELY DO AND IT WAS REGISTERING NO OIL ON DIPSTICK. I HAVE NO OIL LEAKED ON DRIVEWAY OR CLIENTS DRIVES WHERE I PARK DAILY. I OUT OIL IN AND IMMEDIATELY TAKE TO DEALERSHIP. THEY CALLED LATER TO ASK.IF I HAD PURCHASED A EXTENDED WARRANTY? WHY ASK THIS? THEN SAID THEY WOULD CALL ONCE THEY KNEW THE ISSUE. THEY CALLED LATER TO LET ME KNOW I HAD METAL SHAVINGS IN MY ENGINE AND IT WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT. I WAS VERY UNHAPPY. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD SUBMIT FOR A "GOODWILL" REPAIR FROM HYUNDAI. THEY CAME BACK THEY WILL PAY 90% OF THE SHORT BLOCK ONLY. I LET THEM KNOW I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THIS AND THEY WILL TRY FOR MORE COVERAGE SINCE IT WILL NEED MORE THAN THE SHORT BLOCK. I ASKED THE TYPE OF ENGINE IN THE CAR AND CAN NOT GET A DIRECT ANSWER. ALL THESE ISSUES ARE ONCE FOUND IN THE RECALLED MODELS. I FEEL I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING AS A CONSUMER TO KEEP MY CAR IN GOOD RUNNING ORDER. THIS ENGINE ISSUES WITH HYUNDAI NEED ADDRESSED IN FULL. WE ALL.NEED RELIABLE VEHICLES TO WORK AND WITH THE COSTS OF VEHICLES TODAY THEY SHOULD BE SAFE AND RELIABLE. THIS CAR HAS ALSO BEEN HAVING THE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS NOTES BY MANY OTHERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER BILL DUBE HYUNDAI (271 MAIN ST, WILMINGTON, MA 01887, (978) 253-4691) WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE AND TOLD THE CONTACT TO CONTACT A DEALERSHIP. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,000.
WHEN DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, SPECIFICALLY ON AN INCLINE, THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND A BURNING/MELTING RUBBER SMELL IS EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN CLIMBING A LONG HILL IN SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC, THE CAR DISPLAYS A WARNING MESSAGE SAYING THAT ONE SHOULD STEP ON THE BREAK WHILE ON THE STEEP INCLINE. SO INSTEAD OF MOVING UP THE HILL AT A LOW STEADY SPEED USING THE ACCELERATOR, I MUST APPLY THE BREAK AND STOP THE CAR ON THE HILL, WAIT FOR A GAP, ACCELERATE TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, AND THEN STOP AGAIN. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE CAR LURCHES AND SHAKES WHILE MAKING LOUD CLANKING SOUNDS (SIMILAR TO THE SOUND YOU MIGHT HEAR BEFORE YOUR CAR STALLS OUT IF YOU'RE NOT VERY GOOD AT DRIVING A STICK SHIFT). AFTER ABOUT 20-30 MINS IN TRAFFIC ON THE INCLINE, ONE CAN SMELL AN THE BURNING ODOR AND TWO OUT OF THREE TIMES ANOTHER WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON THE DISPLAY THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATING AND THAT I SHOULD PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND I HAVE HAD TO DO THREE TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR WEEKS. BESIDES THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING AND LURCHING ON INCLINES, THE VEHICLE ALSO HAS ACCELERATION ISSUES ON FLAT GROUND. FOR EXAMPLE, AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT I APPLY PRESSURE TO THE GAS BUT THE CAR BARELY MOVES, THE RPMS BEGIN TO INCREASE AS I APPLY MORE PRESSURE TO GET IT MOVING, AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IN CLICKS AND JERKS IN TO GEAR SPEEDING AWAY. THIS PROBLEM HAS LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTING WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, LUCKILY NO ONE HAS BEEN INJURED YET. THE DELAYED ACCELERATION ALSO OCCURS AS I DRIVE UP MY PARKING GARAGE, AS THE CAR SLOWLY MOVES ALONG THE ACCELERATOR HAS NO AFFECT UNTIL SUDDENLY THE CAR QUICKLY ACCELERATES TO AN UNSAFE SPEED IN THE TIGHT PARKING STRUCTURE, AGAIN LUCKILY NO PEDESTRIANS HAVE BEEN INJURED YET DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MCCARTHY OLATHE HYUNDAI (681 N RAWHIDE, OLATHE, KS 66061) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A LOOSE DRAIN PLUG. DUE TO THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE LOOSE DRAIN PLUG, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT THEN NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. AFTER AN EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATION, THE MANUFACTURER DEEMED THE FAILURE TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO SERVICED THE VEHICLE FOR OIL CHANGES. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,110.
VEHICLE STALLED 2/21/2020 AT A STOP LIGHT AND LEFT ME STRANDED RESULTING IN A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER LENGTHY PROCESS WITH HYUNDAI CORP AND DEALERSHIP, I WAS FORCED TO PURCHASE NEW ENGINE SINCE THEY CLAIM MY INCIDENT DOES NOT FALL UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO "OUTSIDE INFLUENCES" SINCE HYUNDAI DID NOT WANT TO OWN UP TO A DESIGN FLAW THAT HAS NOW RESULTED IN A RECALL OF THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES. NEW ENGINE STILL STALLS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, BUT HAS NOT LEFT ME STRANDED YET. THIS WILL BE MY LAST HYUNDAI FROM SEVERAL INTERACTIONS REGARDING THIS INCIDENT. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THESE SAFETY ISSUES IN ALL THEIR ENGINES ACROSS ALL YEARS. THE 2016 AND 2017 TUSCON'S ARE EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS AS THE 2014, 2015, 2018, AND 2016 MODELS.
WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND IT CHANGES TO GREEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS AND THE CAR BUCKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL.THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN YOU START THE CAR UP AND PUT IT IN DRIVE GIVE IT GAS AND IT BUCKS.U HAVE TO GIVE IT MORE GAS TO MAKE IT DRIVE HOPEFULLY IT WILL NOT JUST STALL.I THINK THIS COULD BE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. PURCHASED JUST TWO WEEKS AGO. WHILE TRAVELING AT 40 MPH ON SUNRISE HIGHWAY IN NEW YORK VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS PEDAL. 4 INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON DASH. TIRE PRESSURE / ABS / YIELD / ETC
B.THE DCT TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY DISENGAGES AND THERE IS NO POWER TO THE VEHICLE, IT JUST COASTS FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND THE VEHICLES SLOWS DOWN. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER A TURN AND AT SLOWER SPEEDS AROUND 25 - 35 MPH. YOU PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENS, THE ENGINE DOES NOT REV AND YOU JUST COAST (AND SLOW DOWN). IF THIS HAPPENS WHEN I'M PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC MAKING A LEFT IT COULD BE DEADLY. I DO NOT LET MY 19 YEAR OLD SON DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. I PROMISE YOU THERE WILL BE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS DEFECT AND I WOULD IMAGINE SOME PEOPLE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF IT. THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY, IT IS NOT A ONE-TIME INCIDENT. I JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE A MONTH AGO AND IT'S HAPPENED 10 TO 20 TIMES.

LOSES POWER(LAG) WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP. TURNING AT A STOP LIGHT THERE WAS A LAG FOR A COUPLE SECONDS. ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING WHILE GOING UP A HILL THERE WAS A POWER LAG EXPERIENCED.
WHEN COASTING, THE CAR IDLES ROUGH AND LURCHES FORWARD. WHEN STOPPED AND PRESSING THE GAS, IT TAKES SEVER SECONDS FOR THE CAR TO TAKE OFF. THIS PUTS THE DRIVER AT RISK AS IT DOESN'T HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY- YOU CAN EITHER TAKE OFF RIGHT AWAY OR YOU'RE DELAYED. THE ROUGH IDLING SOUNDS AND FEELS AS THOUGH THE CAR IS ABOUT TO STALL. IN TRAFFIC, THIS PRESENTS A HAZARD.

A BYSTANDER ATTEMPTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER MEANWHILE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED TO THE SCENE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER DUE TO THE INCIDENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT HER CHILD WOULD RIDE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND THE SAFETY SEAT WAS DESTROYED DURING THE FIRE. THE CHILD WAS NOT PRESENT AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE) BY ROUTE 2 HYUNDAI DEALER (743 NORTH MAIN STREET, LEOMINSTER, MA 01453, (978) 534-9999) IN MAY OF 2019 DUE TO THE INITIAL FAILURE IN JANUARY OF 2019 WHERE THE ENGINE BLEW UP. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE, BUT THE FAILURE REOCCURRED WHICH LEAD TO THE ENTIRE VEHICLE CATCHING ON FIRE MOST RECENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED AWAY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION, UNBEKNOWNST TO ME WHEN I PURCHASED IT USED NOV 2019. HAD I KNOWN, AND RESEARCHED ALL THE ISSUES, I WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT IT. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS DUE TO THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION STALLS WHEN FIRST STARTING AND AS YOU PUSH THE GAS A LITTLE MORE TO GET IT TO GO, IT JETS FORWARD TOO FAST. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HYUNDAI AND NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ON SNOWY ROADS, WHICH I DID THIS PAST WINTER AND FELT VERY UNSAFE DUE TO THE STALL AND THEN JET FORWARD ISSUE. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW A NEW/YOUNG DRIVER TO USE THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE TIMES I WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE OF THE STALL WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND ALSO A FEW TIMES WHEN I FELT I COULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE JETTING FORWARD. MY PREVIOUS VEHICLE WAS ALSO A HYUNDAI TUCSON, MINUS THE DUAL CLUTCH, AND IT WAS THE BEST VEHICLE I'D EVER OWNED. PASSED IT DOWN TO MY BROTHER WITH 265,000 MILES ON IT AND STILL GOING STRONG. I HAD NO IDEA HYUNDAI HAD CREATED THIS DUAL CLUTCH AND NOW I AM STUCK PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE I PURCHASED IT USED NOV 2019 AND I HAVE CONTACTED HYUNDAI TWICE ABOUT IT. THE FIRST TIME THEY HAD ME TAKE IT IN TO RESET THE DRIVER TRAINING MODE. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. I NOW KNOW WHY THE PREVIOUS OWNER TRADED IT IN WITH ONLY 14,000 MILES. :(
ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THIS VEHICLE HAS FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE RPMS RISE BUT IT TAKES ROUGHLY 2-3 SECONDS TO ENGAGE. I FEEL THIS IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKE IT TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE WITH NO HELP. THE 2016 MODEL WAS RECALLED FOR EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND I BELIEVE THE 2017 MODEL SHOULD BE AS WELL.

I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE NOT ACCELERATING WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS FROM A STOP OR SLOW SPEED. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY RECENTLY. FINALLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THIS TIME WHEREAS THE FIRST TIME (95500K) IT DIDN'T. CURRENTLY HAS 100754 MILES AND I'M OUT OF STATE. ALREADY CONTACTED CORPORATE AGAIN.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT. YOU CAN HIT THE GAS AND HIT THE GAS AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN FOR ALMOST 30 SECONDS THEN IT WILL JERK REALLY HARD AND GO. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN T BONED BECAUSE OF IT STALLING OUT WHEN PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE HAD IT AT THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND OF COURSE THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, MY CAR HESITATES TO MOVE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION STRUGGLES TO FIND A GEAR RESULTING IN A LACK OF POWER, ENGINE REVVING AND JERKY MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW AND SLOW SPEEDS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I'VE HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO PREVENT MY CAR ENTERING CROSS TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE CAR FAILED TO MOVE WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL.

AT ALMOST EVERY SCHEDULED SERVICE VISIT I TELL THE HYUNDAI SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND AM ALWAYS TOLD THAT IT IS SIMPLY A TURBO LAG. THE ISSUE IS DANGEROUS AS YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL OCCUR.

MY VEHICLE HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND HAVING PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE DUE TO ITS HIGH SAFETY RATINGS I AM INCREDIBLY CONCERNED ABOUT Y SAFETY AS THE DRIVER. NEW MODELS OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED COMPLETELY DUE TO INCREASED CONCERNS ABOUT THE ISSUES MENTIONED PRIOR, BUT THOSE OF US WHO ARE STILL DRIVING THE 2017 MODEL HAVE LIMITED OPTIONS TO IMPROVE OUR SAFETY AND THE FUNCTIONAL OPERATION OF OUR VEHICLES.
