TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE BRAKES SEIZED AND AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,050.
I believe the transmission is to blame as many others have stated. Our Tucson, without notice, quickly accelerates which is sometimes a scary situation. This defect can easily cause an accident. It happens often. It also sometimes lags when pushing on the gas and then accelerates as if I was in "sport" mode, when in fact I'm not. Hyundai has told me that there's nothing wrong with the vehicle so they won't look at it. That's obviously false as everyone knows now it's defective. No lights or warning devices activated.
DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT) / 1.6T ENGINE START FROM STOP ACCELERATION STUTTERING, STALLING OCCURS FROM INITIAL TAKE OFFS, WHILE IDLING IN STOP/GO TRAFFIC CREATES POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DRIVE/PASSENGER SITUATION IN TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSING TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND LANE MERGING/PASSING. ISSUE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND TWO LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS. BOTH PARTIES INDICATE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO PROPERLY DRIVE DCT TRANSMISSION AND PROVIDED BOTH VIDEO AND WRITTEN TRAINING PACKAGES. BOTH TRAINING MECHANISMS FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. SUPPOSED SOFTWARE UPDATES BY THE LEASING DEALERSHIP FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE ALSO. ISSUE IS STILL ACTIVE AND LATEST VISIT TO DEALERSHIP FAILED TO FIND ANY ISSUES WITH NO REPAIRS OR SOFTWARE UPDATES TAKING PLACE. SENIOR TECHNICIAN INDICATED HYUNDAI LEADERSHIP AT CORPORATE ARE ACUTELY AWARE OF ISSUE BUT CHOOSING TO NOT ACT ACCORDINGLY/APPROPRIATELY.
IN SOME CASES WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT TURNED OFF AND IS RESTARTED IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME (1/2 HR.), A TICKING LIFTER (NOISY LIFTER) CAN BE HEARD. THE OIL LEVEL AND VISCOSITY IS CORRECT. ENGINE IS THE 2.0L (NU GDI 2.0L DOHC). ALWAYS CHECKING THE OIL IN THE ENGINE AFTER THE FAILURES OF HYUNDAI/KIA ENGINES.
WHILE I DRIVE, MY TUCSON STALLS. I'M NOT SURE WHY. BUT IT STALLS AND IT TAKES AWHILE FOR IT TO SHIFT THROUGH GEARS. I HAVE STALLED ON HILLS AND AROUND TURNS.
PANORAMIC SUNROOF UNEXPECTEDLY EXPLODED, WITHOUT ANY EXTERNAL (OR INTERNAL) CAUSE WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 635. FORTUNATELY, IT WAS CLOSED, SO NO GLASS PENETRATED THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR.
MY VEHICLE SEEMS TO STALL/HESITATE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP. I HAVE THE 1.6 TURBO AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHICH I UNDERSTAND HAS A SOFTWARE GLITCH THAT CAN DELAY ACCELERATION FROM WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY. THIS OCCURS QUITE OFTEN WHEN PROCEEDING WHEN LIGHT TURNS GREEN--DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN & IN A PRECARIOUS POSITION MULTIPLE TIMES WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER W/COMPLAINT BUT THEY DID NOT MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS OR CORRECTIONS. TOLD ME TO "LIVE WITH IT." UNACCEPTABLE! PLEASE HELP.
MY 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON IS ONE OF THE MANY VEHICLES THAT HYUNDAI HAS FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED AS HAVING DANGEROUS ISSUES RELATING TO THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO MY HYUNDAI DEALER FOR TWO YEARS THAT MY TUCSON STUTTERS, STAMMERS AND LOSES POWER WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO ROSEN HYUNDAI FOR THE THIRD TIME TO HAVE THEM CHECK THIS ISSUE ON NOVEMBER 8, 2019, AND I FINALLY RECEIVED A RESPONSE OTHER THAN "WE CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM." THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE DCT PROBLEMS AND THAT THEY WILL TAKE CORRECTIVE MEASURES TO RECTIFY IT. HE ADDED THAT THE CLUTCH PARTS REQUIRED TO FIX THE PROBLEMS ARE ON BACKORDER UNTIL MID-DECEMBER. (NOTE: AS OF 12/29/2019, PARTS ARE STILL NOT IN) HE TOOK PROMPT ACTION TO OBTAIN A RENTAL CAR FOR ME, SO AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, ROSEN HYUNDAI HAS (NOW) TAKEN APPROPRIATE ACTION. THE TWO ISSUES THAT I HAVE ARE 1) I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR ALMOST NEARLY TWO MONTHS WITH NO UPDATES FROM HYUNDAI ON WHEN ISSUES WILL BE RESOLVED, AND 2) MY VEHICLE IS AN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE SUV WITH NEARLY ALL OF THE AVAILABLE BELLS AND WHISTLES, BUT HYUNDAI HAS ONLY AUTHORIZED PAYMENT TO ENTERPRISE FOR THE "STANDARD" RENTAL CAR. I INSISTED ON HAVING AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE SUV FOR WHICH ENTERPRISE IS DIRECTLY CHARGING ME $7.00/DAY, AND THIS VEHICLE DRIVES LIKE A BIG NOISY TRUCK HAS NO GPS ROUTING AND NOT EVEN A COMPASS. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT HYUNDAI SHOULD HAVE PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE OF LIKE TYPE TO ME OR AT LEAST PAY FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE THAT IS EQUAL OR BETTER THAN MY VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE TO ME! I HAVE OWNED 10 NEW HYUNDAI VEHICLES SINCE THE EARLY 2000'S. MY CURRENT TUCSON IS THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE NOT FELT LIKE AN APPRECIATED CUSTOMER. I WANT REIMBURSEMENT FOR ALL CHARGES FROM ENTERPRISE (CURRENTLY OVER $350).
THE BRAKE LIGHT BULB BURNED OUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I REPLACED IT. APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS LATER THE RIGHT SIDE BURNED OUT. IT GOT SO HOT IT MELTED THE LEAD ON THE BULB. THE DRIVERS SIDE BURNED OUT AGAIN, NO DATE, THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS BURNED OUT TWO MORE TIMES. THIS LAST TIME WAS 12/22/2019. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE AUTO PARTS STORES AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY HAVE HAD COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER HYUNDAI OWNERS. I AM NOT SURE THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT TUCSONS. I DON'T SEE ANY RECALLS BUT I AM TAKING IT IN FOR OTHER REPAIRS ON 12/26/2019 AND I WILL HAVE THEM CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS. MYDASH WARNING LIGHTS NOTIFIES ME WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM.
MY MOTHER IN LAW BOUGHT A 2017 HYUNDAI TUSCON AND IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM THAT REQUIRED A 41,000 UNIT RECALL FOR THE 2016 TUSCON MODEL. SHE HAS BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES DESCRIBING THE SAME ISSUE AND SHOWING CAR FORUMS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES AND WITHOUT A SOFTWARE FIX. I'D LIKE TO HAVE THE NHTSA HAVE A LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE IF POSSIBLE PLEASE AND SEE ABOUT ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE IN THE NEW MODEL YEAR AS IT HAS CLEARLY NOT BEEN FIXED. I'M HAPPY TO PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ISSUE.
VEHICLE HESITATES FROM A STOP WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. ENGINE JUST REVS AND THEN LURCHES FORWARD WHEN TRANSMISSION FINAL ENGAGES. THIS CAN TAKE SEVERAL SECONDS. HYUNDAI STATES THAT THIS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHOULD BE DRIVEN LIKE AN MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THIS IS AN IGNORANT EXCUSE TO HIDE A PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF. THIS IS HAPPENING TO SO MANY PEOPLE SO WHY WILL THE NHTSA NOT HOLD HYUNDAI ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS DEFECT IN THE DRIVETRAIN? I SPECIFICALLY ASKED OUR SALESPERSON IF THE ISSUE HAD BEEN WORKED OUT BEFORE WE SIGNED AND HE STATED THAT THE VEHICLES NO LONGER HAD THE PROBLEM. IF HYUNDAI DENIES THERE IS A PROBLEM WHEY DID THE SALESPERSON ACKNOWLEDGE THIS TO ME? THE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED OVER 20 TIMES TO MY WIFE AND I IN THE PAST YEAR AND THE VEHICLE HAS 10,500 MILES ON IT. HYUNDAI STATES THEY IT IS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED AND CLOSED MY CASE. THEY DIDN'T EVEN OFFER TO HAVE ME TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THERE ISN'T A FIX AND IS A POTENTIALLY FATAL FLAW. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT NUMEROUS TIMES BECAUSE OF NON RESPONSIVENESS FROM THE TRANSMISSION. PLEASE HOLD HYUNDAI ACCOUNTABLE FOR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. IF A DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION WILL NOT WORK WITH THE CURRENT ENGINE THEN THEY SHOULD BUY THE VEHICLE BACK OR TRADE WITHOUT A LOSS. THE DATE FIELD BELOW ONLY ALLOWS FOR ONE DATE? THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 20 TIMES AS MENTIONED ABOVE.
I HAVE HAD THE CAR ONE YR. AND HAVE HAD AN ONGOING ACCELERATION ISSUE. IT IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT AND SCARY. IT HESITATES TERRIBLY UPON ACCELERATION WHETHER IN REGULAR MODE OR SPORT. THE VEHICLE HESITATES FROM A STANDSTILL AND WHILE MOVING. BELOW IT ASKS FOR A DATE WHEN THIS HAPPENED BUT IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. I USED TO OWN A VW CC WHICH HAD A DUAL CLUTCH AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE.
TRAFFIC WAS CLEAR AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT. WHILE DOING SO, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY STALLED AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE TO MY LANE, CAUSING BRIEF PANIC SINCE I WAS IN THE VEHICLE WITH MY BABY AND A FREIGHTLINER WAS NOW APPROACHING. THE VEHICLE RESPONDED IN THE SAME MANNER WHILE MY HUSBAND DROVE IT SEVERAL DAYS LATER. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS A HORRENDOUS SMELL COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AS WE TRAVELED IN TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 3MPH OR LESS. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ON EDGE AND JUST WANTED TO GET HOME SAFELY WITHOUT ANY FURTHER ISSUES WITH THE TUCSON. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM HYUNDAI OF LONGVIEW ON NOVEMBER 29, 2017.
THIS CAR WORKED FINE UNTIL IT DIED ON THE FREEWAY AT 60 MILES PER HOUR ONE EVENING. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT AND MAD IT 3 MORE MILES TO HOME. NEXT DAY IT WOULD NOT START AND WAS TOWED TO DEALER AND DEALER SAYS THE ENGINE IS BAD AND OIL IS SLUDGY DUE TO LACK OF MAINTENANCE AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CAR HAS 30,000 MILES AND HAS HAD 4 OIL CHANGES AND WAS DUE FOR NEXT OIL CHANGE.
ENGINE BOGS DOWN AND LOOSES POWER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. RANDOM. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS IT RECOVERS AND IS FINE FOR A RANDOM AMOUNT OF TIME. IT IS DANGEROUS AS SOME OF THE TIMES I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO HEAVY TRAFFIC AND IT BOGGED DOWN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS HYUNDAI KNOWS OF THE ISSUE. MANY COMPLAINTS BUT NO FIX.
THE STUPID CAR LURCHES FORWARD WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND QUITS IN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND INTERSECTION. IT IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE AS IT ENDANGERS EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE. A 2 TO 3 SECOND PAUSE WITH THE ACCELERATOR PUSHED TO THE FLOOR IT DOES NOTHING AND THE IDIOTS AT EDWARDS AUTO/ HYUNDAI DON'T CARE ALL VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REMOVED FROM SERVICE UNTIL THEY FIRE THE MORON PROGRAMMERS AND FIX THE COMPUTER, SOFTWARE, BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR SENSORS. FACT IS THE CAR'S COMPUTER ISN'T FAST ENOUGH TO PROCESS THE SENSORS. IT IS A DANGER TO MYSELF AND IF IGET HURT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY ME FOR FAILING TO TAKE ALL TUSCONS OFF THE ROAD AND PUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS IN JAIL FOR PUBLIC ENDANGERMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED VIOLENTLY SOMETIMES. ON ONE OCCASION, IN A SHOPPING PLAZA PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE JERKED VIOLENTLY, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE BRAKES FAILED TO OPERATE AND THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE TWICE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND BACK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INSURANCE BODY SHOP TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE COULD NOT BE LOCATED. THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.

I EXPERIENCE A NOTABLE LAG WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOP TO GO WHICH RESULTS IN THE CAR JERKING FORWARD. THIS HAPPENS DURING ACCELERATION FROM STOP TO GO. WHEN DRIVING ON CITY STREETS OR STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY I EXPERIENCE THIS JERKING/SHAKING PERFORMANCE. THIS HAS BEEN WIDELY DESCRIBED ON VARIOUS INTERNET MESSAGING BOARDS.
THE BRIGHT LIGHT / TURN SIGNAL ARM HAS AN OFF..AUTO..ON ROTATING END THAT CONTROLS THE HEADLIGHTS/DASH/BRIGHT-DIM CONTROL. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON BRIGHT YOU HAVE TO PULL THE SWITCH ARM TO DIM THE LIGHTS. THE TROUBLE IS THE ROTATING END MOVES FROM AUTO TO OFF, SHUTTING ALL THE LIGHT DASH ETC OFF. SINCE YOU ARE DRIVING AT 55 TO 75 MPH AND ALL THE LIGHTS GO OFF LEAVING YOU MOVING HIGH SPEED IN THE DARK HYUNDAI IS ENDANGERING MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF THE PASSENGERS INTENTIONALL BECAUSE OF THE POOR INCOMPETANT DESIGN. THEY SHOULD RE DESIGN THE SWITCH ARM AND REMOVE THE LIGHT SWITCH FROM THE END OF THE TURN SIGNAL ARM. I HAVE TO TAKE NITRO GLYCERINE BECAUSE I'M SCARED TO DEATH. OTHER DRIVERS HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. ALL TUSCONS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE ROAD UNTIL THIS IS FIXED. THE DEALER DOESN'T CARE. HYUNDAI SHOULD BE FINED AND JAILED FOR DANGEROUS ENGINEERING. IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES!
WHEN IN CITY DRIVING, VEHICLE JERKS BETWEEN 1ST, 2ND AND THIRD GEAR. WHEN IN A QUICK STOP VEHICLE FAILS TO ACCELERATE RIGHT AWAY. BOTH INTERMITTENTLY CONCERNS. SPOKE TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY STATE IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE AND THAT IS JUST THE WAY THEY ARE. UNACCEPTABLE
TRANSMISSION STUTTERS AND BUCKS ON INITIAL ACCELERATION FROM A STANDING POSITION WITH HIGH VARIABLE REVOLUTIONS AND LATENT UNINTENDED ACCELERATION RESULTING. OCCASIONS OF ERRATIC FORWARD MOTION OCCUR AT ANY SPEED WHEN PEDAL IS PRESSED BUT NOT ALWAYS AT SAME LOCATION OF PEDAL STROKE. A RECENT OCCURRENCE OF LOSS OF ACCELERATION WHILE TURNING LEFT AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC LANES LEFT THE VEHICLE AND OCCUPANT STATIONARY AND VULNERABLE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THERE APPEARS A PROGRESSION OF INCREASING FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY TO THESE EVENTS THAT I HAVE REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE LATEST BEING ON 10/8/18. THEY STATED THEY HAD BEEN RECEIVING OR HEARING OF SIMILAR ISSUES.
I AM EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE'S ACCELERATION FROM A STOP WHICH IS WORSENING OVER TIME. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW IN SEPTEMBER 2017. I ROUTINELY EXPERIENCE A SEVERE LAG IN ACCELERATION FROM A STOP, CAUSING JERKY MOVEMENTS AND SOMETIMES UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. I DO NOT FEEL AS IF THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE ON A DAILY BASIS. I HAVE HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT BY HYUNDAI TECHNICIANS IN MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY HAVE REPORTED THAT THERE ARE NO ISSUES THEY CAN IDENTIFY AND THE CAR IS OPERATING AS IT WAS BUILT TO. I HAVE EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME TO CONTACT HYUNDAI'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT. I HAVE INITIATED A TICKET WITH CONSUMER AFFAIRS.
THE 2017 TUCSON SPORT HAS THE 1.6 TURBO WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, ONE NEVER KNOWS IF THE CAR WILL RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL AND ACCELERATE OR JUST STUMBLE ALONG. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, AND THERE IS A RECALL OR SIMILAR FOR THE 2016 WITH NHTSA. THE DEALERSHIP (KEARNY MESA HYUNDAI, SAN DIEGO) TELLS US THAT "THEY ALL DO THAT" WHEN WE TOOK IT IN FOR SAFETY CONCERNS AND REPAIR. ANY SUBSEQUENT REQUESTS FOR REPAIR WERE MET WITH "IT WILL COST YOU 150 DOLLARS TO CHECK IT OUT IF IT'S THE SAME SITUATION AS BEFORE WITH NO SOLUTION". THIS CAR IS A DANGER TO US AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. IT ALSO TENDS TO GO INTO SOME SORT OF LEAF BLOWER MODE SOMETIMES WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKES, WHERE THE REVS SOAR BUT IT DOESN'T ACT LIKE IT DOWNSHIFTED. THIS IS NOT A MIXUP IN BRAKE/GAS PEDAL USAGE, LIKE THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION PROBLEMS WEVE ALL READ ABOUT WITH OTHER BRANDS. THE DCT HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN AND IS A HAZARD ON THE ROAD. THE PROBLEMS ARE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, AND IT CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE, AT RANDOM, HIGHWAY, FREEWAY, PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY... ANYWHERE. PLEASE HELP GET THESE DANGEROUS CARS OFF THE ROAD. NOT SURE WHAT DOCUMENTATION YOU WANT, BUT THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY, AND WAS BOUGHT IN AUG 2017. CARS WITH THIS ENGINE/TRANS ARE STILL FOR SALE IN THE SHOWROOMS NATIONWIDE, A KNOWN DANGER TO ALL CONCERNED. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MGR HAS TOLD US HOW THERE ARE A LOT OF UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS OUT THERE WITH 1.6 TURBO/DCT DRIVETRAINS, AND YET THEY ARE SELLING MORE BY THE DAY. YET THERE IS NO SUPPORT OTHER THAN THE ONE TIME ATTEMPT AND "THEY ALL DO THAT". HELP.
VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 25,XXX MILES ON IT. IT HAS THE 1.6L TURBO ENGINE WITH DCT (DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION). IT IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE IN REGARD TO MAKING A SMOOTH START FROM STANDSTILL. THE IS CONSIDERABLE LAG AND JERKING BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL RESPOND WITH FORWARD MOTION. SOMETIMES, JUST RELEASING THE BRAKE AT A STOP, THE VEHICLE WILL BUCK AND JERK WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT IS UNPREDICTABLE ON THE SEVERITY AND WHEN IT WILL OCCUR. TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER WAS NOT OF ANY HELP. THEY PERFORMED SCANS AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS "NORMAL". THEY GAVE ME A PAPER DESCRIPTION ON HOW THE DCT OPERATES BUT THAT DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEY BASICALLY SAID THAT'S THE WAY IT IS, JUST GET USED TO IT. PERFORMING A GOGGLE SEARCH YIELDS MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. HYUNDAI HAS NOT OWNED UP TO THIS PROBLEM AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. PERHAPS IF ENOUGH OWNERS REPORT THIS COMMON PROBLEM, HYUNDAI WILL BE FORCED TO PERFORM A RECALL WITH A SOLUTION TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN NOTICED CONTINUALLY ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS SINCE OCT OF 2018.
WHILE DRIVING I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I BEGIN TO ACCELERATE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP MY CAR JERKS FORWARD AND DOESN'T CATCH. IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE VEHICLE STALLS BEFORE MOVING FORWARD, THIS HAPPENS WHEN MOVING FORWARD OR REVERSING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET A RESPONSE TO THE ISSUE FROM THE DEALERSHIP THOUGH I'VE LET THEM KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST 3 MONTHS.
WHILE DRIVING THE HYUNDAI TUCSON AT TIMES THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE TO THE NEXT GEAR. WE WERE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND WENT TO MAKE A LANE CHANGE AS A RESULT OF THE TRANSMISSION NOT ENGAGING PROPERLY WE WERE ALMOST HIT BY A BIG RIG. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM BUT THEY KEEP TRYING TO TELL US IT IS THE WAY MY SON DRIVES. BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW IS DRIVING. MY SONS DRIVES WITH TWO FEET AND MY DAUGHER-IN-LAW DRIVES NORMALLY. TO GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE LAST FRIDAY MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW DROVE ME TO THE DOCTORS. WE TRAVELED ABOUT 20.5 MILES ROUND TRIP AND IN THE TIME THE TRANSMISSION DID IT NINE TIMES. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE HYUNDIA CORP BUT ALL THEY HAVE DONE SO FAR IS TO OPEN A CASE NUMBER FOR MY COMPLAINT(#11611806)
TUCSON WITH DCT ACCELERATES VERY SLOWLY AFTER COMING TO A STOP, BASICALLY UNRESPONSIVE FOR A COUPLE SECONDS. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN CITY DRIVING NO MATTER WHAT DIRECTION I GO AFTER THE STOP. I NOTICED THIS VEHICLE STAYS IN 2ND GEAR UNLESS IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR A FULL SECOND. ANYTHING LESS THAN THAT AND THE CAR STAYS IN 2ND GEAR AND THEN LAGS AND STUTTERS WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE BUT A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST GEAR WHEN BASICALLY STOPPED MIGHT BE AN ISSUE.
I'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR HESITATING AND STALLING SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2017. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DID 2 SERVICE RECALL REPAIRS ON IT BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE ISSUE CONTINUED TO HAPPEN SO I TRIED FIRST HYUNDAI IN NORTH ATTLEBORO. THEY TOLD ME THEY ALSO COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT RESET ENGINE ADAPTIVE VALUES AND TRANSMISSION ADAPTIVE VALUES AND TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT.. TODAY I TRIED TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR BEGAN TO HESITATE, THEN IT STARTED BUCK AND TO SMELL LIKE SOMETHING WAS BURNING. A SHORT DISTANCE UP THE HIGHWAY THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED OUT AND WOULDN'T DRIVE. I WAS LEFT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR OVER AN HOUR WHILE WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK.
Since 2018 (about a year after my vehicle’s purchase), I have intermittently had problems with the vehicle hesitating when pressing the accelerator. There have been about 10 instances where the vehicle will only go 5-10 mph for 10 seconds or so while I try to merge onto a highway and have the accelerator pressed down hard. When I took these concerns to a dealership, I was told it “should not be happening” and that it was likely not occurring because no warning lights were illuminated. I was told that the hesitation was likely just because the vehicle has a double clutch, although this is an unlikely explanation for an issue that can easily cause a fatal accident. Since this happens infrequently, it has not been replicated by a dealer or independent service center. No issues with the engine or speed control have been discovered when I have taken the vehicle in for service. Obviously, this problem is serious even if it does not happen often. A vehicle not responding when the accelerator is pressed puts the vehicle’s occupants at risk of collision, and also risks the safety of occupants in oncoming vehicles.
SOMETIMES ACCELERATION PEDAL IS UNRESPONSIVE EVEN HALF WAY PRESSED. USUALLY IT HAPPENS ON LOW SPEEDS. IT ALREADY MEDE ME MOVING MUCH SLOWER THAN I SHOULD. IF I PRESS IT FURTHER IT MIGHT SUDDENLY START WORKING BUT IT APPLIES TOO MUCH ACCELERATION SINCE IT WAS PRESSED TOO HARD AT THAT POINT. HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SO I CONFIDENT IT'S NOT ONE-TIME ISSUE.
I PURCHASED A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON A MONTH AGO AND IT HAS DANGEROUS AND DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION BEHAVIOR. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN I HAVE PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR MOVES VERY SLOWLY FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN SUDDENLY LURCHES FORWARDS. I HAVE ALSO PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR WHILE DRIVING AND THE CAR HAS ACTUALLY SLOWED DOWN! THERE WAS A SCARY INCIDENT WHEN I WAS TURNING INTO TRAFFIC, AND INSTEAD OF BEHAVING NORMALLY, MY CAR SLOWED DOWN, PUTTING MY WIFE AND I AT RISK OF BEING HIT IN THE SIDE BY THE APPROACHING TRAFFIC! THIS CARS BEHAVIOR IS DANGEROUS AND SOMEBODY WILL DIE BECAUSE OF IT (IF NOBODY HAS DIED ALREADY). I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO MY LOCAL HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT, AND THAT I WILL "GET USED" TO DRIVING IT, BECAUSE IT IS A DCT (DUAL CLUTCH MANUAL TRANSMISSION). THIS CAR WAS MARKETED AS AN AUTOMATIC. I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE BOTH AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS, AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN A "PROPERLY FUNCTIONING CAR" BEHAVE LIKE THIS. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUED TO SLIP AND THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED WHEN GOING INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
EXTREME HESITATION WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL FROM A STOPPED POSITION WITH THE AC ON IN HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES (IN A NON-DCT SE PLUS MODEL) CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. AUTO TRANS ADAPTIVE VALUES WERE RESET BY TECHNICIAN WITH SOME IMPROVEMENT, BUT HESITATION RETURNS SHORTLY THEREAFTER. DIFFICULT TO REPRODUCE AND/OR DIAGNOSE SINCE HESITATION SEEMS TO ONLY OCCUR WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS 85F-90F OR HIGHER AND CAR IS AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE WITH THE AC ON.
SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE, THE VEHICLE'S BACKUP CAMERA HAS EXPERIENCED BLACKING OUT AFTER THE INITIALIZATION BLACKOUT WITH REGULAR FREQUENCY. WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE THE SCREEN INITIALLY SHOWS A BLACK SCREEN UNTIL THE CAMERA INTIALIZES. THEN THE PICTURE OF BEHIND THE VEHICLE SHOWS, FOLLOWED BY THE BACKUP GUIDE LINES. WITH THE VEHICLE IN MOTION IN REVERESE THE CAMERA WILL AGAIN PERIODICALLY TURN BLACK OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. THE VEHCILE HAS BEEN BROUGHT IN MULTIPLE TIMES FOR REPAIR BUT THE SERVICE DEPARTEMNT FREQUENTLY SAYS THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. AFTER GETTING HYUNDAI NORTH AMERICA INVOLVED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOOK IT IN AGAIN. THIS TIME WE WERE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THE REAR CAMERA WAS REPLACED BUT THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE CONCERN. UPON RETURN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INCLUDING AN OPEN TICKET WITH HYUNDAI'S TECHNICAL SERVICE LINE, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THOUGHT THEY HAD REPLICATED THE ISSUE BUT ONLY SAW THE INITIALIZATION BLACK OUT AT WHICH POINT THEY CLAIMED THIS IS AS "WORKS AS DESIGNED". THIS WAS NOT THE ISSUE, THE ISSUE IS ONCE THE SYSTEM HAS LOADED AND THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION IT BLACKS OUT CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN BACKING OUT ONTO STREETS AND IN BUSY PARKING LOTS.
MY CAR IS DELAYED IN ACCELERATION AND SEEMS TO HAVE TROUBLE SHIFTING GEERS
THIS CAR STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPING POSITION TO A MOVING POSITION. I'VE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I PUSH THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE THE CAR PAUSES OR HESITATES. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE CAR THRUSTS FORWARD, THAT THAT HESITATION IS SCARY AND NOT SAFE. THIS ALSO HAS HAPPENED WHILST IN TRAFFIC. AS TRAFFIC BUILDS IT CAUSES THE CAR TO MAKE MULTIPLE STOPS. AS I'VE GONE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN I'VE HAD THE CAR HESITATE CAUSING CARS BEHIND ME TO HONK AND CREATING AN UNSAFE DRIVING PATTERN. WE PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW, SO THIS IS REALLY DISAPPOINTING.

THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND DOES NOT MOVE WHEN YOU NEED TO! WHEN THE POWERTRAIN DOES FINALLY TAKE HOLD, THE ENGINE REVS HIGH AND PULSES FORWARD CAUSING YET ANOTHER DISTURBING AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION FOR DRIVER AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. THIS IS CLEARLY A MECHANICAL AND/OR SOFTWARE GLITCH THAT WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN ACCIDENTS AND BODILY HARM. NOTE THIS CONDITION IS SOMETIMES INTERMITTENT THEREFORE CREATING A FALSE SENSE OF DRIVER CONTROL SINCE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WILL FACE LACK OF PROPER ACCELERATION. AT FIRST I SUSPECTED IT WAS JUST THE 4-CYL ENGINE BEING SMALL, BUT AFTER READING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE HAVING EXACTLY SAME EXPERIENCE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BAY HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 641 W 15TH ST, PANAMA CITY, FL 32401, (877) 461-4473) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
JULY 2018 CAR BEGAN MAKING NOISE WHEN TURNING ON AND BACKING UP. THE NOISE WENT AWAY WHEN I BEGAN TO DRIVE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGE AND THEY COULDN'T DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM BEGAN GETTING WORSE, MENTIONED IT AT NEXT OIL CHANGE. NOW MIND YOU, I DRIVE A LOT!! CAR IS 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS 83K. BETWEEN JULY AND DECEMBER 2018 THE CAR RECEIVED MINIMUM OF 4 OIL CHANGES ALL DONE AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP WHO SAYS IT'S NORMAL EVEN WHEN I COMPLAINED OF SMELLING GAS. AFTER RETURNING TO VA FROM MI, THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ALL TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING, SPEEDOMETER JUMPED WHERE EVER IT WANTED IF IT WANTED TO MOVE AT ALL. TOOK TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP, DIAGNOSIS WAS BAD VACUUM PUMP. IT WAS REPLACED AND SAID ALL MY DRIVING ISSUES AND GAS SMELL WOULD STOP. NOPE....TOOK BACK IN, DIAGNOSIS IS FAULTY EXHAUST MANIFOLD. REPLACED. TWO WEEKS LATER IT STARTS TO ACT UP AGAIN LIKE IT DID THE FIRST TIME.

WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR I WAS TOLD THAT A RESET WAS DONE TO THE COMPUTER TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. IT IS STILL HAPPENING. I HAVE BEEN IN CLOSE CALLS NUMEROUS TIMES AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE FOR MYSELF OR OTHERS ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THIS CONDITION. I WILL BE TAKING THE SUV TO DEALER AGAIN THIS WEEKEND TO HAVE THEM CHECK IT AGAIN. I HOPE THAT A RECALL HAPPENS BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A FATAL ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. SUV HAS 19500 MILES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD COME OUT AND INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON WITH DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION HESITATED TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN AND TURNING RIGHT. WHEN IT FINALLY DID ACCELERATE IT WAS SLOW AND UNRESPONSIVE FOR A FEW SECONDS, CAUSING CROSS TRAFFIC TO BRAKE BEHIND ME. THE SAME HESITATION AND UNRESPONSIVENESS CAN OCCUR WHEN GOING STRAIGHT OR TURNING LEFT/RIGHT AFTER COMING TO A STOP. I BELIEVE THIS BEHAVIOR IS DUE TO THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION.

TOOK IT TO THE SELLING DEALER, THEY TOLD ME IT'S A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION AND THERE IS NO "ISSUES OR FIX". IT'S AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE ABOUT A MONTH O=AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR, WHICH I BOUGHT NEW IN JULY 2018. IT'S DANGEROUS!
THE VISIBILITY AT NIGHT IS IMPAIRED DUE TO THE HID HEADLIGHTS. IN RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I SEE WHERE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME THING. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY. ADJUSTING THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT SEEM TO BE AN IMPROVEMENT. THE OTHER NIGHT, MY LIGHTS WENT COMPLETELY DARK WHILE DRIVING. THIS DEFINITELY DESERVES A NOTIFICATION/RECALL TO THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES BEFORE THERE IS A DEADLY ACCIDENT. PLEASE DO THE RESPONSIBLE THING IN ORDER TO PREVENT IMPAIRING OR LOSING A LIFE.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW 2017 HYUNDAI TUSCON. I FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE DOESN'T SHIFT SMOOTHLY, SOMETIMES HAS A ROUGH IDLE, FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL OUT, AND DOESN'T ALWAYS ACCELERATE. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR INSPECTION FOR THE ROUGH SHIFTING. THE TECHNICIAN HE ASKED ME THE FOLLOWING: DOES IT ALWAYS SHIFT ROUGH, FEEL LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL ESPECIALLY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, SOMETIMES SLOW TO ACCELERATE? WHEN I ANSWERED YES TO ALL OF THEM I WAS TOLD THAT THESE ARE KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. HE HEARS THE SAME COMPLAINTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX IT. GOOGLE "HYUNDAI TUSCON DUAL CLUTCH PROBLEMS" AND YOU WILL FIND HUNDREDS OF THE EXACT SAME COMPLAINTS. THAT DAY I DROVE TO LAS VEGAS I WAS WAS ALMOST IN 2 HORRIFIC ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND ALMOST REAR ENDED BECAUSE IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE. NOT ONE WEEK AFTER THE FIRST INSPECTION I TOOK IT BACK. HE AGAIN TOLD ME THAT THESE ARE KNOW PROBLEMS WITH THE TUSCON . THE LEMON LAW STATES THAT I AM ENTITLED TO A SAFE/ PROPERLY PERFORMING VEHICLE OR A FULL REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE. THIS CAR IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT SAFE AND NOT PERFORMING PROPERLY. I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING WITH HYUNDAI WHO PERFORMED A SO CALLED INVESTIGATION AND DECIDED THAT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO PROVE MY CAR IS UNSAFE. AFTER NEARLY 3 WEEKS THEY DECIDED TO HAVE A FIELD TECH INSPECT THIS TUSCON. THAT THE ROUGH SHIFTING, ROUGH IDLE, NEARLY STALLING, AND FALLING TO ACCELERATE ARE "NORMAL" FOR THIS VEHICLE PER THEIR OWN MECHANICS. I HAVE ATTACHED ALL EMAIL CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN HYUNDAI AND MYSELF. THEY FEEL MY COMPLAINT AND SAFETY CONCERNS AFTER NEARLY 3 ACCIDENTS IS UNWARRANTED. I DON'T FEEL THAT I AM BEING UNREASONABLE BY ASKING FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT PERFORMS PROPERLY OR REFUND OF MY MONEY AND CANCELLATION OF MY CONTRACT.
WHILE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, IN MOTION ON A STREET AND NEEDING TO ACCELERATE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A TURN, OFTEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL SEEM TO STALL OR FALTER WHEN BEING DEPRESSED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SLOW, THEN THE PEDAL CONTINUES DOWNWARD AND THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD. HYUNDAI SERVICE ADVISOR ON JULY 6, 2018 POLITELY SAID "ALL TUCSON TURBO MODELS DO THIS, NO PROBLEM". TO ME THIS IS SCARY. DOES NHTSA THINK LIKEWISE AND COULD THERE BE A SAFETY ISSUE?
PERIODICALLY AT STOP SIGN/LIGHT THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN ACCELARATOR PRESSED. TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO ENGAGE. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERTING TRAFFIC. YESTERDAY, LOST POWER ON INTERSTATE. BEGAN TO DECELEARTE WHEN I ACCELERATED. THE ENGINE ALSO BEGAN REVING UP AND DOWN WITHOUT ANY CHANGE IN ELEVATION OR ACCELARTION. BEFORE PARKING THE CAR IT BARELY HAD ENOUGH POWER TO MAKE SMALL INCLINE AND ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON. DIAGNOSTIC TESTING SHOWS NO PROBLEMS. DANGEROUS SITUATION.
MY 2017 HYUNDAI TUSCON LIMITED HAS A DUAL-CLUTH, 7-SPEED TRANSMISSION THAT IS UNSAFE AND UNPREDICTABLE. ON COUNTESS OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS: 1)STALLED COMPLETELY FOR UP TO 5-6 SECONDS AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LEAVING ME EXPOSED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND/OR ROAD WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSING SEVERAL SERIOUS ACCIDENTS, 2) RANDOMLY DROPPED OUT OF GEAR AT SLOW, ROLLING SPEEDS WITH THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV AND THEN SUDDENLY JUMP INTO GEAR ALMOST CAUSING SEVERAL COLLISIONS, 3) DROPPED OUT OF GEAR GOING UP AN INCLINE, 4) STALLING WHEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR AT ROLLING SPEEDS ALMOST CAUSING MULTIPLE COLLISIONS. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAPPEN VERY RANDOMLY, WITH OUT ANY WARNING, AND IN SLOWER, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND/OR WHEN ENTERING INTERSECTIONS. THIS IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE WE USE BETWEEN MY WIFE AND I, AND WE NO LONGER FEEL SAFE. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX IT. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE EVEN STATED THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW OF ANY DEFINITE FIX FOR THIS DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE. HYUNDAI NOW WANTS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WITH ANOTHER DUAL-CLUTCH, 7-SPEED TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE RESOLUTION, AS THIS TRANSMISSION IS FLAWED AND UNSAFE. THEY REFUSE TO BUY THE CAR BACK. ADDITIONALLY, ARAPAHOE HYUNDAI IN COLORADO FAILED TO DISCLOSE THIS KNOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUE PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. HAD I KNOW THIS, I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. IT IS ALSO NOTEWORTHY THAT HYUNDAI IS NO LONGER INSTALLING THE 7-SPEED, DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION IN THE NEW HYUNDAI TUSCON'S, A CLEAR TESTAMENT THAT THEY KNOW IT IS FLAWED AND DANGEROUS. THEY ARE BEING SUED: WYLIE V. HYUNDAI, CASE NO. 8:16-CV-02102 THE NHTSA SHOULD FORCE HYUNDAI TO BUY ALL THESE CARS BACK. IT IS A TOTALLY UNSAFE VEHICLE. WHY HASN'T HYUNDAI RECALLED THIS FOR ALL YEARS!!??
