TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHED THE BOTTOM OF THE INCLINE, IT WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO JACK CARROLL'S SKAGIT HYUNDAI (1313 GOLDENROD RD, BURLINGTON, WA 98233, (360) 757-7057), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 11361069 AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. *TT
2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON 4700 MILES ON IT ON 5/29/18 ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE AT A NORMAL PACE STARTED VERY SLOW IT HAPPENED AT LEAST SEVEN MORE TIMES ON THAT DAY
MY HYUNDAI TUCSON HESITATES WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. IT FEELS AS THOUGH SOMEONE IS HOLDING DOWN THE BRAKE AS I AM TRYING TO HIT THE GAS PEDAL. IT IS VERY SCARY BECAUSE ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR WILL GET THIS BURST OF ENERGY AND ACCELERATE FORWARD. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE TRYING TO TAKE A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION OR PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING THAT SO MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AND HYUNDAI DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS WHEN BRINGING MY CAR IN FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE VISITS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT. I HAVE HAD ZERO LUCK WITH ISSUE BEING RESOLVED.
MY VEHICLE HAS A ACCELERATION, HESITATION PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS IT DOESN'T MOVE THEN AFTER A FEW SECOND SHOOTS FORWARD. JUST MISSED HITTING ANOTHER CAR TODAY ON ROUTE 128. THIS IS A ON GOING PROBLEM. SOMETIMES WHEN I'M DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN SPEED UP. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE.
MY TRUCK IS UNPREDICTABLE. SOMETIMES THERE IS A BIG DELAY WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. ALSO, IT EXCELLERATES WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT FOR INSTANCE, TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE, ALL OF A SUDDEN IT LEARCHES FORWARD FAST. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN CARS ARE STOPPED BEHIND YOU AT A LIGHT. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT DOES IT. SOMETIMES ON A COLD START, SOMETIMES NOT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD IT'S BECAUSE IT HAS A DOUBLE CLUTCH. IF THAT'S THE REASON, WHY DIDN'T IT DO IT WHEN I FIRST GOT IT. IT STARTED AROUND 1900 MILES. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE OF SNOW AND SLIPPERY ROADS, NOT SO. IT'S SCARY BUT WHAT'S EVEN SCARIER, I WILL BE PAYING FOR IT FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS SO I CAN'T GET RID OF IT UNLESS I GET KILLED IN IT. IT ONLY HAS 2400 MILES ON IT. TRUCK WAS ALWAYS IN MOTION, SOMETIMES EVEN BACKING UP IN THE MORNING IT'S IN SLOW MOTION WITH A BIG HESITATION.
SOME TIMES CAR WILL NOT MOVE THOUGH GAS PEDAL IS PUSHED FROM VERY LOW SPEED TO ACCELERATE. HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES TO ME AND JUST BOUGHT CAR IN FEB 2018. I HAVE EVEN FLOORED THE PEDAL WHICH I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DO IN ANY OTHER CAR I'VE OWNED SINCE I'VE HAD A LICENSE TO GET IT TO MOVE. I MADE A 3 PT TURN YESTERDAY AND GETTING READY TO COME OUT OF IT DIDN'T WANT TO MOVE RIGHT AWAY AND A CAR WAS APPROACHING ME FROM BEHIND ON A SIDE STREET LEAVING A FESTIVAL. I'VE ALSO MADE U-TURNS AND GETTING READY TO MOVE INTO TRAFFIC IT HESITATES WHICH IS DANGEROUS. IT STOPS INSTEAD OF GOING EVEN THOUGH GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. I DON'T TRUST CAR TO MOVE PROPERLY FROM SLOW SPEED TO ACCELERATION. I'VE REPORTED IT TO HYUNDAI AND CALLED LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID DOUBLE CLUTCH BUT IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR A RECALL ON IT. I HAVE READ MANY OF THE SAME TYPE OF COMPLAINTS. DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT ENOUGH TIMES. IT CAN BE VERY SLUGGISH AND I BOUGHT CAR WITH UNDER 10,000 MILES ON IT JUST RECENTLY. FOR A TURBO IT SEEMS STRANGE WAY IT REACTS. THIS IS MY 2ND HYUNDAI. MY 2012 HYUNDAI TUCSON WAS FINE. NEVER THOUGHT I'D HAVE THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM FOR MY 2012 PERFORMS WELL AND IS SPUNKY. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. I PLAN TO CALL DEALER TO TAKE IT IN SOON TO SEE IF THEY CAN DO SOMETHING. I THOUGHT HYUNDAI WAS SAFE CARS TOO IS WHY I WAS GOING FOR ANOTHER ONE. TO KEEP THEIR REPUTATION THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING AND NOT KEEP SELLING THESE CARS WITH KNOWN PROBLEM. I AM AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER BUT NEW DRIVERS MAY TAKE CHANCES MOVING INTO TRAFFIC WITH THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. I SOME TIMES MAKE SURE I HAVE PLENTY OF SPACE BEFORE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC IF POSSIBLE. I HOPE IT DOESN'T TAKE A FATALITY FOR THEM TO SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM.
I HAVE NOTICED PERSONS REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING: MY 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ACCELERATION ISSUES THAT I WOULD LIKE TO BRING TO THE ATTENTION OF THE NTSB. THE VEHICLE WILL EXPERIENCE LACK OF ACCELERATION WHEN MERGING ONTO HIGHWAYS AND/OR MAKING TURNS THAT REQUIRE ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I WOULD TRY TO GO AND IT SEEMED LIKE THE CAR WOULD PAUSE, AND THEN THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE. IT IS SCARY, I NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND FOR A POSSIBLE INCIDENT WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. NOT THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AT RANDOM INSTANCES. FROM TURNING, TO ACCELERATING FROM AT A STOP, TURNING, TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS NOT COMMON SPEED THIS IS RELATED TO.
MY HYUNDAI TUCSON CAR HESITATE TO START FROM THE SIGNAL LIGHT. I.E IT TOOK AROUND 2 TO 3 SECONDS TO ACCELERATE [I END UP IN APPLYING GAS PEDAL HARDLY TO GET THE MOVE FROM LIGHT ] AND THIS HAD HAPPENED FOR 4 TIMES SO FAR FROM 2017 JULY TO NOW. WHEN I CHECK WITH HYUNDAI SERVICE DEALERS ON THIS PROBLEM, THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO CHECK IT COMPLETELY AND FOR THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME FOR "VEHICLE INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSE" :( , I'M NOT READY TO AFFORD AS THIS IS NOT HAPPENING OFTEN.
THERE IS A HESITATION WHEN THE CAR STARTS OUT IN THE MORNING, FIRST START OF THE DAY. I HAVE HAD A NEW TRANSMISSION PUT IN, BUT AFTER A FEW WEEKS THE PROBLEM RETURNED. IT CAUSES A SAFETY PROBLEM WHEN I TRY TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC, BECAUSE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL OUT AND THEM IT CATCHES AND MOVES.
WE BOUGHT A HYUNDAI TUCSON SUV FROM HYUNDAI OF ORANGE PARK JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA 32244 BACK ON NOVEMBER 2, 2017. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS SUV IS THAT IT HAS A JERKING AND HESITATION PROBLEM WHEN YOU START OUT FROM 5 MILES AN HOUR UNTIL IT GETS UP TO SPEED. IT IS WORSE IN DAMP WEATHER AND WHEN IT RAINS OUT, ALSO WHEN YOU ARE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD THE SUV BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES AND THEY DOCUMENTED IT 3 TIMES BY STATING THERE IS NO PROBLEMS WITH THE SUV AND IT'S THE TRANSMISSION THAT WAS PUT INTO THE SUV'S. I HAVE ALSO CALLED HYUNDAI DIRECT IN CALIFORNIA, AND THEY SAY IT'S THE DUEL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION THAT WAS PUT INTO THOSE SUV'S. THEY OFFERED ME A CAR PAYMENT OF $351.00 TO NOT FURTHER THE COMPLAINT, WHICH I DECLINED. MY WIFE DRIVES THE SUV AND IS AFRAID THAT SHE WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT ONE OF THESES DAYS WHEN MAKING A TURN. IT STARTED WITH THIS PROBLEM IN MAY OF 2018 AND HAS CONTINUED EVER SINCE. THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM IS TO TRADE IN AND BUY ANOTHER SUV OR CAR THAT IS NEWER 2019, AS HYUNDAI DIDN'T PUT THE SAME TRANSMISSION IN THE 2019'S. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THESES VEHICLES. HYUNDAI IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS, AS THERE IS A CLASS-ACTION SUITE AGAINST THEM PENDING IN THE CALIFORNIA COURT.
I HAVE OWNED MY 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON SINCE 10/20/17. IN THE LAST YEAR I HAVE HAD IT AT THE DEALERSHIP 3X FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TWICE MY VEHICLE HAD PERFORMANCE ISSUES WHILE ENTERING THE HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATION. IT IS LIFE ENDANGERING. WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE LOSES SPEED. THE RPM GAUGE STARTS GOING WACKY, OFF THE CHARTS. IT WILL REV TO 5 RPM BACK DOWN TO 3 RPM AND BACK & FORTH. WHEN THE FOOT IS ON THE GAS PEDDLE TRYING TO INCREASE TO HIGHWAY SPEED, THE ENGINE WILL GO TO 45 MPH. WHEN ONE A HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 70 MPH, IT BECOMES LIFE THREATENING. WHEN I FINALLY REACHED A SPEED OF 70, IT WOULD GO FOR A SHORT TIME AND THEN DECREASE TO 50 MPH. VERY SCARY. TWICE IT WAS IN SERVICE FOR THE SAME PERFORMANCE ISSUE . THE 2ND TIME THEY REPLACED BOOST SENSOR RANGE. IT WORKS OK NOW. HOWEVER, THE SHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION IS HARD AND SEEMS TO SHIFT IMPROPERLY. IT TOO IS TIED TO THE ACCELERATION. HYUNDAI THAT IS THE NATURAL PERFORMANCE ON THE ENGINE & TRANSMISSION. THE LAST CHECK ENGINE WAS AN ALTERNATOR FAILURE. I HAVE OWNED 3 HYUNDAI'S. I HAVE HELPED MY DAUGHTER BUY HER 2 HYUNDAI'S. MY MOTHER AS WELL. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE KIND OF ISSUES. ALSO THE NATURAL HYDRAULIC CLOSING ON THE BACK DOOR IS A REAL SAFETY HAZARD. ONE DAY THE DOOR STARTED CLOSING WHILE MY BODY WAS HALF INSIDE. THERE SHOULD BE A SENSOR TO DETECT WHEN THERE IS AN OBJECT IN THE WAY. THAT TOO IS CAUSED FOR ALARM IN SAFETY. THESE 2 ISSUES THAT I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT CAN & WILL CAUSE DEATH.

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT IS HAZARDOUS TO NOT ONLY THE OWNER'S OF THESE VEHICLES, BUT ALSO TO OTHER INNOCENT DRIVERS IN THEIR PATH. APPARENTLY HYUNDAI AND KIA VEHICLES ARE KNOWN TO HAVE THIS ISSUE AND HAVE BEEN MENTIONED IN RECENT ONLINE FORUMS. I REACHED OUT TO HYUNDAI MOMENTS AGO TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THEM AND I AM HOPING THEY WILL RESPOND TO ME WITH A FIX AND/OR SOLUTION TO THIS HAZARDOUS CONDITION. MY VEHICLE IS GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TOMORROW 4/23/18 FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. THE LAST TIME I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR THIS ISSUE I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN THE OTHER DAY AND I WAS YET AGAIN PUT INTO A VERY "CLOSE CALL" SITUATION. I HAVE A YOUNG SON AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE WITH THIS CONDITION OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY ON THE ROADWAY. HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO BE HIT DUE TO THIS OBVIOUSLY KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES? MY VEHICLE TENDS TO DO THIS MORE OFTEN WHEN MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY WHERE MORE ACCELERATION IS REQUIRED; HOWEVER, I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WHEN SLOWLY ACCELERATING FROM BEING STATIONARY AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, ETC.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while at a complete stop and attempting to make a left turn, the accelerator pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The contact continued to depress the accelerator pedal until the vehicle responded. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start-up several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact stated that the dealer did not diagnose the vehicle; however, the dealer installed a multi fuse kits as part of the recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V543000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that the engine control unit was replaced as part of an unknown recall repair. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred several times while at a complete stop. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH ABS, TRANSMISSION, LOSS OF POWER, DELAY IN ACCELERATION, ELECTRICAL, ENGINE, AND PREMATURE WEAR OF BEARINGS. RECALL 209 HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED, AND DOES NOT HAVE A FIX. THE DEALER HAD NO INTENTION TO REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE PASSED THE TESTS. As of 3/27/22, my Tucson Odometer is 16,335 mi — For 4 years & 9 months consumer has been hesitant to drive it on freeways because of ITS challenges.
UPON PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL FROM A COMPLETE STOP, OR WHILE DRIVING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS (LESS THAN 20 MPH), VEHICLE HESITATES TO ACCELERATE FOR 2 TO 3 SECONDS. AFTER THE 2 OR 3 SECOND PAUSE, CAR FINALLY ACCELERATES WITH VERY HIGH RPM'S.
VEHICLE FREQUENTLY, INTERMITTENTLY, STALLS DURING TAKE OFF FROM A STOP. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT VEHICLE WILL SIMPLY ROLL AS IF IT IS FREELY ROLLING IN NEUTRAL BUT IS NOT RECEIVING ANY POWER OR ACCELERATION FROM THE ENGINE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 5 SECONDS BEFORE ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN ENGAUGES AND VEHICLE ACCELERATES. THIS CREATES AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU HAVE THE VEHICLE IN AN INTERSECTION AND ACCELERATE TO MAKE A LEFT TURN IN A GAP IN TRAFFIC AND END STUCK IN THE INTERSECTION OR IN FRONT OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS ONLY ROLLING AND NOT ACCELERATING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HYUNDAI USA CORPORATE WHO HAS CHOSEN NOT OFFER ANY REMEDY AND HAS IT STATED TO ME THIS IS A "CHARACTERISTIC OF MY VEHICLE.". HYUNDAI USA HAS CONTINUALLY REFERRED ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. HYUNDAI USA HAS EVEN PLACE THE BLAME FOR THIS ISSUE ON THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER THE ISSUE HERE IS THAT HYUNDAI USA ENGINEERS HAVE NOT ADMITTED TO HAVING THIS PROBLEM OR CREATED A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM TO ROLL OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO ALLOW THEM TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. THIS IDENTICAL ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED AND ISSUED AS A RECALL IN PRIOR MODELS OF THIS VEHICLE, YET HYUNDAI REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ON THIS MODEL
WE PURCHASED THIS CAR IN OCTOBER 2017. WE BROUGHT THE CAR IN THREE TIMES IN THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS AS THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. IT WOULD SHUTTER AND FEEL LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL LEAVING ME IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC FROM THE OPPOSITE LANE. IT WOULD ALSO HAPPEN WHEN BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOT. THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY JOLT FORWARD WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM AS IT COMES AND GOES ALL THE TIME AND HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAR FUNCTIONS HORRIBLY IN TRAFFIC HESITATING AND THEN JOLTING FORWARD BEING A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN ROLLING. LAST WEEK MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT IT IN PARK. IT MADE A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE. I TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON. I WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IISNT THROWING ANY CODES OR INDICATING ANY PROBLEMS. THEY REPORT THAT MY COMPUTER IS UP TO DATE. THIS CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT. HYUNDAI WON'T BUY IT BACK SAYING THAT I JUST NEED TO LEARN 'HOW TO DRIVE MY CAR.' THEY OFFERED ME TWO MONTHS PAYMENTS. I WILL NOT PUT MY FAMILY BACK IN THIS CAR AND THEY WANT ME TO TAKE THIS CAR BACK. THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED AND TAKEN OFF THE ROAD!
THIS CAR HESITATES FROM IDLING IN TRAFFIC TO ACCELARTING. IT IS INTERMITTENT, AND I HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION ON MANY OCCASIONS WHEN THE CAR JUST WON'T MOVE FOR A FEW SECONDS. IT IS JUST ENOUGH HESITATION TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT BECAUSE OF THIS. IT IS FINE IN HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED UPON. WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES ACCELERATE THE RPM'S ARE IN THE RANGE ON 3000-5000 AND THE CAR WILL LUNGE AHEAD. WHEN TURNING INTO AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE WILL REDUCE ACCELERATION UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH LEADS TO VERY SCARY MOMENTS THAT A COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE COULD OCCUR. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE WAS AT 5000 RPM AT 55 MPH AND THE ACCELERATION BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AD I HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE WITH MY 3 CHILDREN WITH TRAFFIC COMING AT ME AT RATES OF OVER 65 MPH. WHEN IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE OFTEN WILL NOT ACCELERATE TO BEGIN THE PROCESS OF GOING BACK, IF IT DOES, AGAIN IT LUNGES AT A HIGH RATE AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BECOMES HARD AS YOU MAY HAVE THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE TURNING MOTION. THEY CLAIM ISSUE IS KNOWN AND HAS TO DO WITH IMPROPER OPERATION OF DUAL/DOUBLE CLUTCH TECHNOLOGY. SPOKE ALSO WITH TECHNICIANS WHO INDICATE THEY ARE AWARE OF ISSUE, BUT CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO REMEDY THE DANGERS. DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AND HAS BEEN IN AT LEAST THREE NEAR MISS SIDE COLLISIONS AND SEVERAL NEAR STALL OUTS ON MAJOR ROADWAY AND INTERSECTIONS WHILE EITHER TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THE LAST INCIDENT SHE WAS INVOLVED IN HAD THREE FAMILY OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE WHO WERE WITNESSES TO THE FAILED ACCELERATION/STALLING/STUTTERING/JERKING ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE AND WERE SHOCKED IT HAD HAPPENED TO SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE ALSO HAD THIS VEHICLE IN THE SAME SERVICE SHOP THAT I PURCHASED THE HYUNDAI FROM ON ARAPAHOE ROAD IN CENTENNIAL, COLORADO, UNDER THE NAME OF AUTO NATION HYUNDAI. I HAVE ALSO DRIVEN THE CARE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND CAN SAY IT CAN BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN ESPECIALLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC FROM A SIDE ROAD. WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO WORK WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE ON THIS ISSUE AND ASKED THEM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK, BUT THEY INDICATED IT DOES NOT MEET THEIR LEMON RULES, NOR HAS IT BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP ENOUGH TIMES TO WARRANT A BUY-BACK. BOTTOM LINE NOW IS THERE'S NOTHING FOR THEM TO REPAIR SINCE THEY'VE INDICATED THEY HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT DO ADMIT THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STILL CHOOSE TO NOTHING TO REMEDY THE DANGERS.

BY THE TIME I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND LET THE CAR RPM'S RECOVER, THE MOTORCYCLE WAS COMING RIGHT UP BEHIND ME. HE WAS ASSUMING I WOULD BE MOVING, BUT HE HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS HITTING MY CAR. ALL THINGS CHEWED WERE MADE OF SOY BASED MATERIALS.I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY MECHANIC, NOT HYUNDAI DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. I HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS (3X) W/MY HONDA 2014 CRV THAT'S WHY I GOT RID OF IT. I WAS TOLD BY BOTH HONDA & HYUNDAI "ITS NOT COVERED, IT'S NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, IT'S CAUSED BY OUTSIDE CIRCUMSTANCES/ RODENTS. USE YOUR AUTO INSURANCE". THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT BECAUSE THEY USE SOY WHICH ATTRACTS THESE RODENTS. SOY WIRING HARNESSES SHOULD BE BANNED AND RECALLS INSTITUTED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM BY EITHER REPLACING THE HARNESSES WITH STANDARD SYNTHETIC NON-EDIBLE POLYMERS AS APPROPRIATE TO THE SPECIFIC APPLICATION, OR PROVIDING COATINGS THAT PROVABLY PREVENT RODENTS FROM CONSUMING THE INSULATION OVER THE LIFESPAN OF THE VEHICLE. HEADLIGHTS PROJECT A WEIRD DARK SHADOW ON BOTH SIDES AND IT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE IN FRONT OF ME JUST OFF CENTER ON BOTH SIDES. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO NOT FEEL SAFE ENOUGH TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD OF ME
VEHICLE WILL FAIL TO ACCELERATE AT CERTAIN TIMES FROM A COMPLETE STOP ON A CITY STREET. RPM CAN GO AS HIGH AS 4000 RPM'S AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT RESPOND ADEQUATELY, MEANING I HAVE BEEN AT AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN MAKING THE TURN,THE VEHICLE MAY OR MAY NOT RESPOND TO THE ACCELERATION I HAVE GIVEN IT. I HAVE BEEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WANTING TO ACCELERATE FORWARD ON THE GREEN LIGHT AND AGAIN THE VEHICLE MAY OR MAY NOT RESPOND ADEQUATELY EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE GETS TO 4000 RPM'S. AFRAID I WILL BLOW AN ENGINE I DECELERATE WITH THE VEHICLE ONLY CREEPING FORWARD AT 3-5 MPH EVEN WITH THOSE HIGH RPM'S. I HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS PEDAL A FEW TIMES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES. ONCE ENGAGED THE TRANSMISSION IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE, BUT EVENTUALLY RESPONDS RESPECTFULLY TO THE RPM'S. THE LACK OF ACCELERATION OR TRANSMISSION RESPONSE IS VERY UNSAFE WHEN IT PLACES THE DRIVER & PASSENGERS IN A PRECARIOUS POSITION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE HESITATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ADVANTAGE HYUNDAI (440 PLAINVIEW RD, HICKSVILLE, NY), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST, STATING THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A DUAL CLUTCH AND THE FAILURE WAS INHERENT TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,000.
MY 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON CONSUMES MORE THAN 3 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN FILTER CHANGES. I NOTICED THE OIL CONSUMPTION AROUND 36K MILES. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO SOUTHTOWN HYUNDAI (RIVERDALE, GA) MANY TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. THE DEALER DID 3 OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, ALL FAILED. I WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE AT THE MOMENT. I EVEN REACHED OUT TO CORPORATE, WITH NO RESPONSE BACK. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 75K MILES ON THE ENGINE. PLEASE HELP.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM FULL STOP AT TRAFFIC LIGHT ABOUT 2ND GEAR, THE CAR SUDDENLY JERKED AND THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON BRIEFLY WITH A NOISE. ALMOST CAUSES CAR BEHIND ME TO REAR END ME. I HEAR OTHER HYUNDAI TUCSON 2017 OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING A SIMILAR THING. I HAVE LESS THAN 3900 MILES ON MY CAR.
ALL HYUNDAI LIMITED MODEL TRIMS HAVE POOR BULB HOUSINGS FOR THEIR HEADLIGHTS. THERE IS A NOTCH IN THE HOUSING THAT COVERS THE TOP PART OF THE BULB AND CASTS A LARGE SHADOW IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, MAKING DRIVING AT NIGHT A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM. I'VE ALREADY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THAT HYUNDAI HAS YET TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I'VE ATTACHED TWO PHOTOS SHOWING THE SHADOW/NOTCH ON EACH HEADLIGHT. KEEP IN MIND MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 295 MILES, AND I JUST BOUGHT IT A COUPLE DAYS AGO. MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE SHE'S AFRAID SHE WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE SOMETHING IN FRONT OF HER. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED BECAUSE IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL A SERIOUS INJURY IS CAUSED AS A RESULT OF POOR LIGHTING AND NEGLIGENCE ON PART OF THE AUTO MANUFACTURER.

I SCHEDULED SERVICE AT SAGE HYUNDAI AND SOON AFTER THE COMPANY CLOSED WITHOUT PROVIDING A SERVICE LOCATION. ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 2018 I HAD HYUNDAI OF DOWNEY SERVICE MY VEHICLE. SINCE FEBRUARY 2018 I HAVE EXPERIENCED SIX SEAT ISSUE AS MENTIONED-ABOVE AND FOUR SERVICE REPAIRS. ON MARCH 20TH, 2019 I FILED A LAWSUIT IN SUPERIOR COURT. ON MARCH 22ND, 2019 HYUNDAI CONTACTED ME AND OFFERED $8,000 IF I RELEASED THEM OF LIABILITY AND KEEP THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. ON EACH OCCASION THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, STATIONARY OR ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY
The DCT transmission shudders when first accelerating then smoothing out . it also at times will not accelerate at all for several seconds. This can be very dangerous while pulling out into traffic because it doesn't do it all the time.The dealer does know about the problem and has been confirmed . No warning lamps .
