I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2017 TUCSON NIGHT AND HAVE EXPERIENCED SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THERE IS A LONG HESITATION WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, MAKING A TURN OR WHEN "COASTING". THERE HAVE BEEN OCCASIONS WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RESPONSIVE AT ALL WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS. THIS IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN AT A BUSY INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMING AT YOU. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TWICE NOW AND AM TOLD THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM AND THAT WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING IS "TYPICAL FOR A DCT". THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE RESPONSE AND IT'S A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL THIS ISSUE CAUSES AN ACCIDENT OR DEATH. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH HYUNDAI'S APPARENT LACK OF CONCERN.
WHEN YOU ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THERE IS A MAJOR DELAY. SOMETIMES IT IS SO BAD THAT YOU CAN BARELY MAKE IT THROUGH A TRAFFIC LIGHT BEFORE IT TURNS RED AGAIN. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE TIMES WERE WE WERE ALMOST HIT DUE TO THIS MAJOR DELAY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. WE HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES AND IT IS GOING IN FOR A 5TH TIME. THEY ARE SAYING THAT IT IS THE DESIGN OF THE TRANSMISSION, AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO REPAIR IT.
WHEN YOU GO TO PASS OR INCREASE SPEED THE RPM'S GO UP BUT NO ACCELERATION, EVEN AT LOW SPEED YOU HAVE NO ACCELERATION. I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WE TOOK CAR TO DEALER TWICE AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THIS. IT HAPPENED THE THIRD TIME AND WE TOOK IT TO DEALER AND WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING TO DEALERSHIP IT HAPPENED AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED ON INTERSTATE AND LOCAL TOWN ROADS. WE JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2017. SO NOW FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE!!!!!
SUV RATCHETS FORWARD FROM A STOP, ALSO HAS ISSUES IN TRAFFIC WITH BEING HESITANT TO PROPEL ITSELF FORWARD. THIS HAS RESULTED IN UNSAFE TRAFFIC SITUATIONS AS THE POWERTRAINS ABILITY TO ACT AS EXPECTED, HAS NOT BEEN MET CAUSING DELAYS IN CROSSING ROADS OR ACCELERATION FROM STOPLIGHTS/SIGNS.

SIX MONTH OLD CAR....CAR HESITATES WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS PETAL FROM A STOP. MUST GIVE YOURSELF A MORE THAN NORMAL AMOUNT OF ROOM TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC JUST IN CASE THE CAR HESITATES AS TO NOT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. ALSO WHILE DRIVING THRU A CHRISTMAS DISPLAY (VERY SLOW MOVING, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC) WITH MY FAMILY INCLUDING A FIVE YEAR OLD CHILD THE TRANSMISSION HIGH TEMP ALARM CAME UP ON THE CAR AND WE COULD SMELL HOW HOT IT WAS GETTING. HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR A WHILE IN VERY COLD TEMPERATURES AT NIGHT WITH OUR YOUNG DAUGHTER. WAITED A WHILE STARTED THE CAR UP AND THEN IT WOULDN'T SHIFT RIGHT. MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER (HAZLETON PA AUTO MALL) I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM TO HAVE IT LOOK AT. AT THE APPOINTMENT I WAS TOLD BY A MAN AND WOMEN AT THE SERVICE DESK THAT THE OVERHEATING IS A NORMAL REACTION TO STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. NEVER HAD A BRAND NEW CAR WITH 7000 MILES ON IT OVERHEAT AND LEAVE ME SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TUSCAN'S WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION ARE A DANGER TO THE OWNERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL.
WHEN TAKING CORNERS THE CAR JUST REVS BUT I CANNOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO MOVE OVER TO LET CARS PASS. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT TWICE OVER THIS ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. ALSO AT A COMPLETE STOP THE ENGINE WILL NOT ACCELERATE JUST REV FOR ABOUT 15-30 SECONDS. HYUNDAI TELLS ME JUST LEARN HOW TO DRIVE.
THIS CAR STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPING POSITION TO A MOVING POSITION. I'VE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I PUSH THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE THE CAR PAUSES OR HESITATES. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE CAR THRUSTS FORWARD, THAT THAT HESITATION IS SCARY AND NOT SAFE. THIS ALSO HAS HAPPENED WHILST IN TRAFFIC. AS TRAFFIC BUILDS IT CAUSES THE CAR TO MAKE MULTIPLE STOPS. AS I'VE GONE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN I'VE HAD THE CAR HESITATE CAUSING CARS BEHIND ME TO HONK AND CREATING AN UNSAFE DRIVING PATTERN. WE PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW, SO THIS IS REALLY DISAPPOINTING. I HAVE REPORTED TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND EVERY TIME THEY TELL ME THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT EXCEPTABLE. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM YOUR AGENCY HAS ENOUGH DATA TO MAKE HYUNDAI FIX THE PROBLEM.
MY 2017 HYUNDAI TUSCON HAS A DUEL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT EVER SINCE WE PURCHASED IT. I HAVE HAD IT BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN YOU ARE SITTING IN TRAFFIC AND TRY TO GO THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES, WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP AND GO TO TAKE OFF THE TRANSMISSION IS IN THE WRONG GEAR AND YOU GET A BANG. THE DEALER TELLS ME THIS IS LIKE DRIVING A CAR WITH A CLUTCH I CAN DRIVE A CAR WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS. THE CAR IS GREAT IF YOU NEVER HAVE TO STOP AND TAKE OFF. SOME DAYS IT'S BETTER THAN OTHERS. YOU CAN'T DRIVE THIS CAR LIKE A REGULAR TRANSMISSION CAR YOU CAN'T PULL OUT FOR FEAR THE CAR WILL NOT GO OR WILL BE IN THE WRONG GEAR. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. THE DEALERSHIP NEVER TOLD US THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN. THIS IS A ON GOING PROBLEM. BELOW IT SAYS WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN, IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
AFTER A STOP, INITIATING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE, THE TACHOMETER RACES, BUT THERE IS NO ENGAGEMENT. AFTER A LONG PAUSE, THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES AND THE CAR JERKS FORWARD. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, OCCURRING AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. HYUNDAI SERVICE DENIED THERE WAS A PROBLEM ON MULTIPLE VISITS BEFORE FINALLY ADMITTING THE DUAL CLUTCH WAS FAULTY. CLUTCH REPLACED, PROBLEM PERSISTS, AND THEY CLAIM THERE IS NOTHING FURTHER THEY CAN DO.
THE VEHICLE AT TIMES WHEN GOING FROM A STOP WILL OCCASIONALLY TOTALLY LOSE ALL PROPULSION FOR A SPLIT SECOND WHICH HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST BE DEAD IN TRAFFIC. IT IS VERY SCARY WHEN IT HAPPENS. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS A ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION OR FUEL PROBLEM. I HAD THE PROBLEM WITH A 2014 SANTA FE. MY BROTHER IN LAW HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME VEHICLE.
WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL, SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL NO GO, THE RPM REVS UP VERY HIGH. THE CAR PAUSES AND THEN WILL GO. VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING LEFT OR LEAVING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, ON ON THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR. (WE ARE LEASING THIS, AND GOT THE CAR END OF NOVEMBER 2017) I CURRENTLY HAVE 3200 MILES ON IT AND SCARED TO DRIVE IT.
MENTIONED TWICE TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT. MY CONCERN THEY SAY NO SOLUTION.WHEN YOU START TO ACCELERATE GOING FORWARD OR GOING IN REVERSE OR EVEN WHEN YOU ARE ON A HIGHWAY,WHICH IS MOST DANGEROUS. IF FOR ANY REASON YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OF THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN ACCELERATE AGAIN THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT HESITATION BEFORE IT GOES. IF YOU HAVE DRIVEN A NUMBER OF REASONS CAUSE YOU TO DO THIS. THERE SOLUTION IS NOT TO FEATHER THE ACCELERATOR. MAKES NO SENSE. ARE THEY WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED? NOTIFIED I WAS REGISTER WITH YOU AND THEY COULD CARE LESS,PLEASE HELP. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION IF YOU NEED IT.
THE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM IN THIS VEHICLE AT LOW AND HIGH BEAM CASTS A SHADOW ABOUT 100 FEET IN FRONT. THIS CAUSES A SEVERE BLIND SPOT IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. IN RAINY WEATHER IT IS DOUBLY HARD TO SEE WHAT ISSUES FACE THE DRIVER. IN FACT I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE WALKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN RAINY WEATHER BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT VISIBLE UNTIL THEY WERE INSIDE THE 100 FEET. THE LIGHTING SYSTEM MUST BE REPLACED AS THE DEALER HAS ADVISED THERE IS NO ADJUSTMENTS THEY CAN MAKE TO OVERCOME THIS ISSUE. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER ABOUT IT ACCORDING TO HIM.
THE CAR HESITATES UNDER ACCELERATION . IT WILL SOMETIMES SITS JUST INCHING ALONG FOR 2 OR 3 SECONDS THEN START ACCELERATING. YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. IT CAN GO A WEEK WITH NOTHING THAN WHEN YOU LAST EXPECT IT HAPPENS AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS I WONT LET MY WIFE DRIVE THE CAR.
I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES SINCE THE PURCHASE OF MY VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER FOR THE SAME SIMILAR ISSUES ALL RESULTING FROM THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THE ISSUES HAVE RANGED AND STARTED WILL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON IN NOVEMBER WHEREAS CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THEY REPLACED A SENSOR. 3 DAYS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN CAUSING LOW POWER THEY REPLACED ENGINE HARNESS. FEBRUARY AGAIN ROUGH IDLE AND CAR DIED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE AT LIGHT AND/OR PARKED CAUSING TO BE RESTARTED SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE BUT USUAL CAUSE IS DUE TO DUAL CLUTCH SO THEY RESET DUAL CLUTCH ADAPTIVE VALVES. MARCH 2ND WHILE SITTING IN A PARKING LOT IN DRIVE I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL RPMS REVED TO 3-4 AND I COULD HEAR THE ENGINE AS IF I WAS DRIVING WHEREAS THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING SIMILAR TO IF THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL. MARCH 5TH AFTER NOT DRIVING THE CAR FOR THE WEEKEND I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN I ACCELERATED AND THE CAR SLOWS DOWN CAUSING CARS BEHIND ME TO SLAM ON BREAKS TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME. NEXT DAY WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL AREA GOING AROUND 10 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR JEEVES ME FOWARD AND SLOWS DOWN TO ALMOST A DEAD STOP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK AGAIN WE'RE AGAIN THEY SAID IT CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED AND THEY ALSO STATED THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO SLOW DOWN WHEN DRIVING DRASTIC SPEEDS OFTEN. ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS. THERE IS NO WAY MYSELF OR ANY OF MY CHILDREN WILL BE DRIVING THIS CAR I AM TERRIFIED OF THIS VEHICLE AND DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO RISK MY FAMILIES LIVES FOR SOMEONE TO REALIZE SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG WITH MY CAR.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE HAS A HABIT OF BEING HESITANT WHILE BEING GIVEN GAS. FOR EXAMPLE, AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHEN I GIVE THE VEHICLE SOME GAS TO GET GOING, IT IS UNRESPONSIVE AT THAT MOMENT. IF I GIVE IT A LITTLE MORE GAS, THE VEHICLE JOLTS FORWARD AS IF I FLOORED IT. THIS HAPPENS IN SPORT MODE AS WELL AS ECO MODE, ALTHOUGH I AM ABLE TO GET A LITTLE MORE RESPONSIVENESS IN SPORT MODE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS MORE ON CITY STREETS SEEING AS THAT'S THE MOST COMMON PLACE WHERE THE VEHICLE IS REQUIRED TO STOP AND GO.
VEHICLE RANDOMLY WON'T ACCELERATE, PRIMARILY AFTER A FULL STOP. IT HESITATES FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERING AN INTERSECTION
NOT ALL THE TIMES BUT, HYUNDAI TUCSON 2017 HESITATES WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. EVEN THOUGH I HIT ACCELERATOR, THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE FOR FEW SECONDS AND SUDDENLY IT SHOOTS LIKE A JET. (STOP AND GO SITUATION) IT HAPPENS USUALLY IN THE MORNING AFTER FIRST START UP. THIS SYMPTOM IS EXACTLY SAME AS 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON WHICH HAS BEEN ALREADY RECALLED BECAUSE OF "HESITATION WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP"
CAR ENGINE/TRANSMISSION STALLS, LAGS,HESITATES, JUMPS AND CHUGS WHEN GAS IS PRESSED FROM A STOPPED POSITION OR IN SLOW STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL THE ENGINE/TRANS DOES NOT ENGAGE AND MOVE THE CAR. AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE CAR WILL ENGAGE AND JERK, AND JUMP. THE HESITATION MAKES THE CAR FEEL LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL OUT. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I AM AFRAID EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR TO DRIVE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING SINCE THE DAY BOUGHT THE CAR
CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED STANDING AT RED LIGHT. VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL SOUND AND STALLED. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS THE VEHICLE STARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIORITY HYUNDAI (1499 S MILITARY HWY, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200.
ENGINE FIRE. PULLING INTO OUR DRIVEWAY THE CAR WAS STOPPED IN FRONT OF OUR GARAGE. SMOKE WAS ISSUING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. OPENING THE HOOD REVEALED A FIRE FROM UNDER THE ENGINE TOP COWLING AND ON THE FELT HOOD LINER. A FIRE EXTINGUISHER (A,B,C) IN THE GARAGE WAS USED TO QUICKLY EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE FIRE DID NOT SPREAD BEYOND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO FIRST GEAR AND ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN WOULD TRY TO MOVE UP TO A HIGHER GEAR AND GET SUSPENDED FOR ABOUT 5-7 SECONDS AS IF IT COULD NOT FIND THE NEXT GEAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2-3 TIMES SO FAR. ALSO, WHEN I HAVE TESTED THE RESPONSE OF ACCELERATING BY PRESSING THE GAS WHILE TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND AS EXPECTED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, I PUSHED THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND THE ENGINE ONLY RESPONDED AS IF I WAS SLIGHTLY ACCELERATING. I HAVE A 1.6 TURBO. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE HAD THE LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD GO OUT - EXCEPT FOR MY RADIO/NAVIGATION SYSTEM. I SUSPECT THIS HAD TO DO WITH A SENSOR AS IT WAS DUSK AND MY LIGHTS TRIPPED SOME ELECTRICAL OR SOFTWARE DEFECT. I WAS GOING DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY AROUND WASHINGTON D.C. AT THE TIME AND COULD NOT SEE ANY OF THE DRIVING CONTROLS FOR APPROX 20 SECONDS. I AM NOT SURE IF MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AT THAT TIME BUT EVENTUALLY, AFTER FLIPPING MY LIGHTS OFF AND ON AND PRESSING THE DASH LIGHT TO MAXIMUM, THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD RETURNED. LAST WEEK, THE AUDIO OF MY RADIO/NAVIGATION SYSTEM WOULD NOT WORK. AFTER LEAVING MY CAR AND LOCKING IT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND RETURNING, THE SOUND WAS WORKING AGAIN. I TOOK A VIDEO OF THIS. THE TEMPERATURE IN MY VEHICLE WAS NOT REGULATING PROPERLY WHILE STATIONARY. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS A BAD SENSOR AND REPLACED IT. IT HAS WORKED GREAT SINCE THEN. HOWEVER, I AM STILL HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION FROM A RED LIGHT OR TURNING INTO A ROAD, OR ACCELERATING FROM A VERY SLOW SPEED. MY VEHICLE IS NOW IN A SECOND DEALERSHIP TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE THAT STILL LINGERS. THIS IS CAUSING ME TO FEEL VERY INSECURE ABOUT DRIVING MY VEHICLE. I AM SECOND OWNER. FIRST OWNER HAD ONLY PUT 2500 MILES ON IT AND TRADED IT IN. PROBABLY A BAD SIGN.

WE PICKED UP CAR AND DROVE MAYBE 5 MILES TO HAVE ACCELERATOR (GAS) NOT GO WHEN TURNING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY LIGHT CAME BACK ON, CAR BACK IN SHOP 10-7-2017 TO 10-19-2017 REPORTED IT IS FIXED! DROVE MORNING OF 10-20-2017 AND LIGHT CAME BACK ON! FROM 10-20-2017 TO NOW AND STILL ONGOING ETA 12-15-2017! THIS VEHICLE SCARES ME! IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED MILES AWAY FROM HOME, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT JUST STOPS VERY SCARY SOMEONE WILL DIE WITH THIS ONGOING PROBLEM! I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE IN FEAR IT WILL JUST DECIDE TO STALL. THERE WAS A RECALL FROM 2016 TUCSON FOR A DUAL CLUTCH GEARBOX ISSUE. I AM EXPERIENCING SAME ISSUES WITH 2017. WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE FROM A STOP AND ALLOW THE CAR TO IDLE AS SLOW SPEED THE TRANSMISSION AND CAR SPUTTERS AND CREATES HESITATION AND JERKING WHEN GAS PEDAL IS APPLIED. THIS IS A RISK OF SAFETY ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING INTERSECTION TURNS. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT NO FIX EXISTS. PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING ALMOST SINCE DAY 1 AND I AM CURRENTLY AROUND 13K MILES
I HAVE AN ACCELERATION PROBLEMS, FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. YOU DATE BELOW INDICATES ONLY 1 TIME. SO WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND TRYING TO PULL OUT ONTO A HIGHWAY OR TRYING TO MAKE A TURN ACROSS A LANE OF TRAFFIC, THERE IS NO ACCELERATION, NO GAS, A HESITATION I CAN PUNCH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BEFORE IT ACTUALLY WILL MOVE THEN THERE'S A LURCH FORWARD. THIS IS A BIG CONCERN, I CAN NOT HAVE ANY TRAFFIC AT ALL ONCOMING IF I NEED TO MAKE A TURN. THIS HAPPENS PULLING ONTO THE INTERSTATE, ALSO FROM A STATIONARY OR ALMOST STATIONARY POSITION. I CAN'T HAVE ANY TRAFFIC COMING THERE'S SUCH A HESITATION. I'M AFRAID THIS WILL RESULT IN A COLLISION. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME, I'D SAY A 50/50 CHANCE OF IT HAPPENING. I HAVEN'T HAD AN ACCIDENT YET BECAUSE OF IT. VERY CONCERNED, AFRAID TO LET ANYONE DRIVE THE CAR AS I'M AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND AM VERY CAUTIOUS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.

DANGEROUS WHEN ATTEMPTING A LEFT TURN AS YOU STALL PART WAY THRU THE TURN. HAVE HAD CAR BACK TO DEALER TWICE AND THEY CLAIM NO PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A LEGITIMATE SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS INVESTIGATING AS I SEE MULTIPLE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEBSITE AND OTHER INTERNET SITES.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 11107853. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEIR REGIONAL DEPARTMENT WOULD BE CONTACTING THEM TO ASSIST FURTHER. THE CONTACT HAD NOT YET BEEN CONTACTED BY THE REGIONAL DEPARTMENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500.
my vehicle stalls on take off and I have been told it is a dual clutch issue and is not correctable. I find that very frustrating since they new this problem existed when I purchased the vehicle new and never told me of the problem. Sometimes when I take off or turn it stalls and that is dangerous. I have tried several time to resolve this issue with no luck. It still does it and it is not fixable. There is no excuse for that.

AIRBAG INDICATOR ICON STAYED LIT RATHER THAN GOING OUT AFTER A FEW SECONDS WHEN CAR WAS STARTED. PROBLEM IDENTIFIED BY DEALERSHIP AS AIR BAG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP WILL HAVE HAD MY CAR MORE THAN 2 MONTHS BECAUSE THERE ARE NO AIRBAG MECHANISMS IN THE US AND WE ARE WAITING FOR MORE TO BE PRODUCED. THE LIKELY REASON FOR THIS DELAY IS THAT MORE HAVE BEEN USED THAN PLANNED, AND THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE IF SO MANY NEEDED REPLACEMENT.
THIS IS THE SECOND FILING OF A COMPLAINT RELATED TO ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH HYUNDAI TUCSON DCT TRANSMISSION. I HAVE NOW RETURNED TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND IT CONTINUES. YESTERDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, AT APPROXIMATELY 5:25PM, IN WELLFLEET, MA., I WAS TURNING OUT FROM A STORE ALONG RT. 6, AND MY CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN JERKING, CAUSING ME TO LOSE SPEED. IT WAS RAINING WITH A LOT OF TRAFFIC. I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT AS A CAR WAS COMING DOWN RT. 6! I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR. THE ATTEMPTS BY HYUNDAI TO ADDRESS THIS DCT TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH "SOFTWARE UPDATES" ARE NOT WORKING! PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! THANK YOU.
VEHICLE HAS LESS 500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD 2 OCCURRENCES WHEN SLOWING DOWN FROM A MAIN ROAD, FROM AROUND 35'40 MPH, TO TURN A CORNER AND DURING THE TURN THERE WAS COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION.
I HAVE OWNED THE TUCSON SINCE 1/25/17.THERE IS A LAG/SURGE ISSUE WHEN EXCELERATING. NOT ALL THE TIME, BUT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE LATELY. IN HINDSIGHT THIS SITUATION HAD HAPPENED BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST GETTING USE TO THE NEW VEHICLE. WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE I MENTIONED IT ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO THE DUAL CLUTCH AND THE VEHICLE WAS "OPERATING AS INTENDED". I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT WHEN YOU ARE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT AND STEP ON THE GAS WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGES IT LAGS THEN SURGES INTO THE INTERSECTION. OR, STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND WHEN IT IS TIME TO MOVE FORWARD, LAG AND SURGE ALMOST HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. AS WELL AS MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY AND LAGGING AS TRAFFIC IS COMING AT YOU AT 65 MPH AND YOU ARE LAGGING AND HOPING NOT TO BE HIT. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT HYUNDAI WANTS THEIR VEHICLES TO BE RUNNING IN THIS MANNER. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH HYUNDAI CUSTOMER CONNECT AND THEY SEND ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN I FIRST GOT ON TO YOUR SITE THERE WASN'T AS MANY REPORTS AS THERE ARE TODAY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I DON'T WANT TO BE A STATISTIC. I HAD IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP ONCE ALREADY AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I AM TAKING IT IN AGAIN AND WILL ONCE AGAIN BRING IT TO THEIR ATTENTION. THIS ONGOING TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! THIS WEEK, FOR EXAMPLE, THERE HAVE BEEN TWO INSTANCES WHERE I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILING TO SHIFT AND STALLING, CAUSING DELAYED ACCELERATION. I PULL OUT OF INTERSECTION TO TAKE A LEFT, AND THE CAR TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY FAILS TO SHIFT CAUSING ME TO LOSE SIGNIFICANT SPEED. I BARELY GET OUT IN TIME AS A CAR COMES UP ON ME FROM BEHIND AND ALMOST HITS ME!! I COULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT! SIMILARLY, YESTERDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN ALL DAY, THE CAR JERKS AGAIN AS I LEAVE MY DRIVE WAY AND AS I STOP AND TURN ONTO OLD WHARF RD. I GO TO A LOCAL STORE ON RT. 6 HIGHWAY ABOUT 1 MILE AWAY. AS I'M LEAVING STORE, I ACCELERATE FAST GET GET ON HIGHWAY. THERE IS A CAR COMING. MY CAR SUDDENLY LOSES POWER AGAIN DUE TO FAILURE TO SHIFT AND I AM ALMOST HIT BY THE CAR AS I GET ON THE HIGHWAY! I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE!! HYUNDAI'S ATTEMPTS TO FIX THIS DCT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS NOT WORKING! SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT SOON BEFORE INDIVIDUALS OR FAMILIES GET SERIOUSLY INJURED!

WHEN STOPPED AND THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, ACCERATION IS EXTREMELY SLOW AND AFTER 3-5 SECONDS OF DEPRESSING THE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WILL FINALLY ACCELERATE AS NORMAL. IT OCCURS WITH AND WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM HAS FAILED TO ENGAGE. IT OCCURS WHEN I AM STOPPED AND PRESS THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE THE CAR. THE CAR FEELS AS THOUGH IT IS GOING TO STALL AND DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD. THIS HAS PUT ME IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN I BELIEVE I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO TURN, BUT WHEN THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND, MY TIME AVAILABLE TO TURN IS REDUCED. I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER AND THEY INDICATED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS BEHAVIOR AND IT IS THE NATURE OF A DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICE MAN SAID THAT IT TAKES TIME FOR THE COMPUTER TO DETERMINE WHAT IT IS GOING TO DO NEXT AND I NEED TO GIVE IT THAT TIME.
THIS 2017 HYUNDAI IS EQUIPPED WITH A 7-SPEED, DUAL CLUTCH AUTO TRANSMISSION.. THE PROBLEM IS A SERIOUS HESITATION FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR. IN SOME INSTANCES THE POWERTRAIN MOMENTARILY SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY. ALSO, THERE IS SEVERE CHATTERING WHEN MOVING FORWARD AFTER A COMPLETE STOP. I CAN'T TELL IF THE CHATTERING IS CAUSED BY THE GEARS JUMPING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND OR IF THERE IS SLIPPAGE FROM ONE OF THE CLUTCH PACKS (THIS A TWIN CLUTCH PACK TRANSMISSION WITH OUT A TORQUE CONVERTER).THESE PROBLEMS BECOME PRONOUNCED AS TEMPERATURES RISE, SUCH AS HOT SUMMER DAYS. THE CONDITION OF THIS TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REVIEWED BY MY DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND I HAVE A COPY OF THE WORK ORDER. I NOW DRIVE MY HYUNDAI BY STARTING IN STICK SHIFT MODE, THAN SHIFTING TO AUTOMATIC AFTER 3RD GEAR. WHEN I VISITED THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT I WAS TOLD : "CUSTOMER COMPLAINT COULDN'T BE DUPLICATED". THE HESITATION, THE CHATTERING AND OCCASIONAL SHUT DOWN OF THE POWERTRAIN IS VERY CONCERNING AND OBVIOUSLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED.
