TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC STOP, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AND THEN STALLED. ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WERE ILLUMINATED. SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND RESUMED TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 75 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED A SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER PLACE OF RESIDENCE AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON HER SPECIFIC VEHICLE AND THAT ANY REPAIRS WOULD BE AT HER EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 94,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND MY CAR LOST ALL POWER. MY CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL CAMPAIGN 03V45500 WHICH WAS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. *TR
2003 G-35, A/C AND RADIO HAVE GONE OUT, MANY MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM - SAFETY HAZARD - DEFROSTER DOES NOT WORK, HUNDREDS OF POSTINGS BY OWNERS REGARDING LINKING OF THESE TWO SYSTEMS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS. WITH THE ECONOMY THE WAY IT IS MANY OWNERS DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO DO THIS VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35 SEDAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RADIO WOULD FAIL INTERMITTENTLY AND WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED FOR THE FAILURE NOR REPAIRED. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 195,000.
THERE IS AN APPARENT KNOWN DEFECT IN THE 2003 INFINITI G35 MODELS. THE RADIO AND CLIMATE CONTROL WILL APPARENTLY LOSE ALL INDICATORS, AS IF THERE IS NO POWER, BUT WILL CONTINUE TO FUNCTION, STAYING FROZEN ON AT THEIR LAST SETTINGS. THE RADIO VOLUME OR CHANNELS CANNOT BE CHANGED AND THE AIR CONDITIONING/HEATER,ETC. ARE STUCK ON THEIR LAST SETTINGS AND CANNOT BE CHANGED WITHOUT TURNING THE CAR OFF. THIS IS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE CONTROL BOARD BEHIND THE DASH. INFINITI/NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND HAS ISSUED A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN (# ITB03-007B) TO REPAIR THE 26,300 VEHICLES LISTED BY VIN # ON THE SERVICE BULLETIN. THIS IS A HAZARD , AS IN THE WINTER, THE FRONT OR REAR DEFROSTERS CANNOT BE TURNED ON, OR THE AIR CONDITIONING TURNED OFF, CAUSING A HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITION. INFINITI SAYS MY 2003 VIN # DOES NOT FALL INTO THE BULLETIN PARAMETERS, (VIN # IS HIGHER), AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM. INFINITI STATES THE COST TO REPAIR.........$2600.00. IT IS APPARENT THAT THE BULLETIN DID NOT GO FAR ENOUGH TO COVER THIS DEFECT ON A LARGER QUANTITY OF VEHICLES THAN INFINITI WANTS TO ADMIT. *TR
1 WEEK AGO I'VE NOTICED A SUDDEN DEGRADE IN PERFORMANCE. THE CAR IS PROVIDING 1/2 AS MUCH POWER AS USUAL, BUT NO WARNING LIGHTS OR GAUGES REVEALED ANYTHING. INSPECTED OBVIOUS THINGS LIKE FUEL, OIL LEVEL AND PURITY. 2 DAYS AGO *VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING, AND WAS HARD TO START AGAIN. IT TOOK ALMOST 1 MINUTE TO RESTART. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ACTIVATED. CAR CONTINUED TO BE HARD TO START AFTER INSTANCES THAT IT WAS SHUT OFF. LAST NIGHT: *VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, DURING MY DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM, I'M LUCKY NO ONE CRASHED INTO ME. *TR
THE HVAC CONTROLS ON MY G35 INTERMITTENTLY STOP WORKING MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPERATE THE AIR OR DEFROSTER. THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THIS BUT INFINITI REFUSES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 65 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE, BRAKE, VDC AND SPIN INDICATOR WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE WARNING PANEL. THE ENGINE STALLED AND ALL POWER WAS LOST. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE OFF THE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE ENGINE WITHIN MOMENTS. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER SHOULD DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,937 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,923.
I HAVE INFINITI G35 AND HAVE HAD THE SAME CONTROL PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIO/AC/DEFROST /FAN CONTROLS. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2003 THAT WAS NOT MANDATORY BUT STATED DEALERSHIPS SHOULD REPLACE THESE CIRCUIT BOARD UNITS AS A SAFETY CONCERN AND FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE DEALER SHIP..INSKIP- WARWICK RI - CLAIMS MY CAR DOES NOT MEET THE PROBLEM AND IT IS MY RADIO THAT NEEDS REPLACING FOR $900 EVEN THOUGH MY RADIO WORKS THROUGH THE STEERING COLUMN AND I CAN CONTROL SOUND, MODES AND STATIONS. HOW CAN IT BE THAT IT IS THE RADIO AND NOT THE CIRCUIT BOARD WHICH THEY ADMIT IS AN ISSUE IN OTHER G35'S. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE, INFINITI HAS SENT RECALL REGARDING THIS, THE DEALERSHIP ADMITS THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH BOARDS AND YET THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THESE UNITS....I FEEL SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL DEFROSTING DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. WILL IT TAKE SOMEONE TO BE INJURED OR KILLED TO GET SOME ACTION. *TR
LOSS OF CONTROLS TO 03 G35 RADIO/AC/HEAT. INITIAL POWER FAILURE ONLY AFFECTED CONSOLE CONTROLS AND WHEEL CONTROLS STILL WORKED FOR RADIO CONTROL. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE WHEEL CONTROLS WENT AS WELL. ENTIRE BLOWER FOR AC/AIR AND HEAT IS GONE. ENTIRE CONSOLE KIT AND STEREO HAD TO BE REPLACED. OLD STEREO WAS RETAINED. *TR
2003 INFINITI G35 COUPE- LOSS OF ENGINE POWER WHILE DRIVING FOLLOWED BY "SLIP" AND VRC WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON. THE CAR JUST SUDDENLY STOPPED ON THE FREEWAY. GOOD THING IT'S A MANUAL TRANMISSION AND I COULD COAST TO THE SIDE. I WAS LUCKY NOT TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT . TESTS REVEAL BOTH CAM SENSORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS LIKE THIS YET NO RECALL IS BEING PRODUCED. THIS IS ALMOST AS BAD AS THE TOYOTA ACCELARATION PROBLEM.
MY FRIEND AND I ARE DRIVING THROUGH ATLANTA ON I-285 AND MY 2003 INFINITI G-35 STOPS INSTANTLY CAUSING US TO ALMOST HAVE A SERIOUS CRASH POSSIBLY KILLING OURSELVES AND OTHERS, I HAD MY CAR TAKEN TO AN AUTO SALON AND THE DIAGNOSTICS EQUIPMENT READ CAM OR CRANK SENSOR MALFUNCTION, I CALLED 2003 INFINITI SERVICES DUE TO A RECALL ON THIS CAR WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THE RECALL INFORMED CUSTOMERS TO BE CAUTIOUS OF THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT COULD CAUSE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING FOR 2003 MODELS, WELL I CONTACTED THEM AND THE INFINITI REPRESENTATIVE EXPLAINED THAT MY CAR DID NOT MAKE THE 2003 RECALL SINCE MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2002 OF JANUARY, AS IF THE SAME PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST. *TR
FRONT DRIVERS DOOR ONLY INTERMITTENTLY LOCKS AND UNLOCKS USING A REMOTE. THIS PROBLEM JUST STARTED OCCURRING. HAVE 66000 MILES ON MY INFINITY G-35. PROBLEM CAUSES SAFETY CONCERN SINCE YOU NEVER KNOW IF YOUR DOOR IS LOCKED OR UNLOCKED WITHOUT MANUAL INTERVENTION. *TR

I OWN A 2003 INFINITI G35 COUPE WITH APPROXIMATELY 75,000 MILES ON IT. ON MARCH 3, 2010, I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT A RECALL OF NISSAN AND INFINITI (QX56) VEHICLES REGARDING FAULTY FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNITS LEADING TO AN IMPROPER FUEL LEVEL BEING DISPLAYED IN THE VEHICLE. MY G35 HAS EXHIBITED FLUCTUATIONS IN THE FUEL GAUGE SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2009. WHEN THE GAUGE GETS TO BELOW ONE-QUARTER OF A TANK OF GAS, THE NEEDLE SLOWLY BOTTOMS OUT BELOW THE EMPTY LINE, BUT I KNOW I HAVE PLENTIFUL FUEL IN THE TANK. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN I PUT ADDITIONAL GAS IN THE TANK, THE GAUGE IS SLOW TO MOVE ABOVE THE EMPTY LINE. I KNOW MY G35 IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, BUT I WAS WONDERING IF THIS VEHICLE COULD ALSO BE FITTED WITH FAULTY SENDING UNITS AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR A RECALL AS WELL. *TR
MY 2003 INFINITI G35 SEDAN EXPERIENCES INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE CONTROL PANEL FOR OPERATION OF THE A/C, RADIO, ETC. BECAUSE OF THIS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, THE ENGINE THROTTLE IS UNABLE TO BE RESET. IT IDLES AT 1000 RPM AND DOES NOT REDUCE RPMS WHEN SLOWING OR STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THIS CAUSES A SHAKING OF THE VEHICLE. WHILE THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR VEHICLE DO APPEAR ON A RECALL LIST, THE VIN NUMBER IS OUT OF RANGE SO THE DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. *TR

INTERMITTENT LOSS OF CONTROL OF RADIO, A/C, FRONT WINDOW DEFOGGER AND REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. DISCUSSED WITH DEALER (NOT VERY HELPFUL) AND HAD A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM. THEY SUGGESTED REPLACEMENT OF AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD BY DEALER AS REPROGRAMMING OF THE RADIO IS REQUIRED AND CAN ONLY BE DONE BY THE DEALER.
CLIMATE CONTROL/STEREO CONTROL PANEL FAILURE. THERE IS A 'VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD' (CAMPAIGN I.D. # :P3104 APPLIED VEHICLE: 2003 G35 SEDAN (V35) APPLIED VINS:VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN JNKCV51E*3M000014 - 026621) HOWEVER, IT IS AFFECTING MORE VEHICLES OUTSIDE OF THEIR PARAMETERS. MY MANUFACTURE DATE IS 12/02 AND THIS CAMPAIGN ONLY COVERS MODELS THROUGH 08/02. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WITH A KNOWN ISSUE OF MODELS MANUFACTURED THE SAME YEAR. THE CLIMATE CONTROL PANEL FAILURE IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS YOU CAN NOT USE THE DEFROST BUTTONS WITH INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS. *TR

CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCED CAR A FEW EVENTS SINCE EARLY '10 OF VEHICLE BEING RELUCTANT TO STOP, EVEN WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THE LAST EVENT OCCURRED TODAY (9/18/11). TODAY'S EVENT WAS MORE SCARY THAN THE PREVIOUS EVENTS, IN THAT THE CAR ACCELERATED FAR AHEAD OF OUR DESTINATION AND COULD HAVE POSSIBLY HIT ANOTHER DRIVER, IF A DRIVER HAD BEEN PRESENT. THE BRAKES ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND ARE NOT WORN. AT THIS POINT, I AM GRAVELY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS MALFUNCTION, AND IT FEELS LIKE I AM AT GREAT RISK OF HAVING AN UNAVOIDABLE ACCIDENT. *TT
THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE, THEY HAVE A EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. MY G35 CONSUME 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 500 MILES , THE CAR ONLY HAVE 66,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT, INFINITI TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO DUE TO THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, READ ON FORUMS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND THERE IS THOUSANDS OF INFINITI G35 OWNER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, AND INFINITI HAS NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT . THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT HAS RUN THEIR G35 3,000 MILE AND HAS DAMAGE THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DUE TO THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM AND INFINITI HAS TURN THEM DOWN. TELLING THEM THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, I THINK SOMEONE SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT INFINITI G35 OWNER THAT PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR A DAMAGE CAR. *TR

AIR CONDITIONING UNIT COMES ON RANDOMLY AND WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. AT THE SAME TIME, THE RADIO BECAME INOPERABLE. INITIALLY THIS PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN JUST A COUPLE OF TIMES PER WEEK, BUT NOW IT'S A PERMANENT ISSUE. INFINITI RECOGNIZES THAT A PROBLEM EXISTS, BUT WILL NOT RECALL BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THAT IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I CANNOT CONTROL THE FRONT OR REAR DEFROST. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35 COUPE. THE DEFROST BECAME INOPERABLE. THE FAILURE IS RELATED TO THE AUDIO CIRCUIT BOARD WHICH CONTROLS THE AIR CONDITIONER AND HEAT. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED; HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATED TO HER VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
I HAVE AN INFINITI G35 (2003) THAT HAS SUDDENLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE HEAT AND AIR CONTROLS. WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED, IT WOULD GO OUT AFTER THE CAR WAS ON FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES. NOW, THE CONTROLS DO NOT WORK AT ALL. THIS CAN POTENTIALLY CREATE A SAFETY PROBLEM FOR A DRIVER WHEN THE WINDSHIELD FOGS UP IN EITHER COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS (AFTER BEING GARAGED) OR HUMID WEATHER CONDITIONS AFTER A RAIN SHOWER IN THE HOT SUMMER. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE WINDSHIELD FOGS UP AS THE DRIVER IS OPERATING THE VEHICLE. AFTER DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, I FOUND THAT THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF OTHER 2003 G35 OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. ALSO, INFINITI KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM AND THE SAFETY CONCERN, BUT HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR ALL VEHICLES IN WHICH THIS OCCURS. THERE WAS ONLY A VOLUNTARY POSTING AND IT ONLY INCLUDED VEHICLES MADE IN A CERTAIN TIME PERIOD. OBVIOUSLY, THE TIMEFRAME ESTABLISHED BY INFINITI IS NOT CORRECT AS THERE ARE MANY CASES WHERE THIS DEFECT IS STILL OCCURRING. THIS SAFETY CONCERN NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND CORRECTED. I HAVE NOT HAD A CRASH AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE ONE IN THE FUTURE. OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM MOST LIKELY FEEL THE SAME WAY......SOME MAY HAVE ACTUALLY HAD A CRASH BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. *TR
MY 2003 INFINITI G-35 RADIO WENT OUT WILL NOT COME ON AT ALL. MY A/C COMES ON WHENEVER I TURN THE CAR ON AND I CAN NOT TURN IT OFF. MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WON'T GO UP AND THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WILL NOT STOP MOVING EVEN AFTER I HAVE LET GO OF THE BUTTONS. IT FOLDED MY PASSENGER LIKE A SANDWICH. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE INFINITI DEALER THE SALEMANS SAID THAT THE AUDIO SYSTEM INSTALLED IN MY YEARS MAKE AND MODEL NUMBER WAS DEFECTED AND THEY WERE AWARE THAT THE LIFE OF THIS SYSTEM WOULD ONLY LAST ABOUT FIVE YEARS. *TR
THE CAR WAS BOUGHT WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THE CD PLAYER WOULD NOT EJECT OR TAKE ANY CD'S; THIS INFORMATION WAS NOT DIVULGED BY THE SELLER, BOB MOORE MOTORS OF OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH, THE ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE (AC CONTROLS AND RADIO CONTROLS) BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THE CAR NOW EMITS 90 AIR ON AUTO AC, FORCING ME TO DRIVE WITH MY WINDOW DOWN AT ALL TIMES. IN ADDITION, I AM UNABLE TO TURN ON THE RADIO OR TAPE PLAYER WITH EITHER THE CENTER CONSOLE BUTTONS OR THOSE ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE RADIO IS A RAW DEAL BUT NOT MY BIGGEST CONCERN. I LIVE IN KANSAS AND WHEN IT IS NOT VERY HOT (NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT 90 AUTO AC FEELS LIKE IN THE SUMMER) IT IS VERY WINDY AND IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE WITH THE CONSTANT WIND NOISE. I AM NERVOUS TO DRIVE THE CAR ALTOGETHER BECAUSE I DO NOT TRUST THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ANYMORE AND AM AFRAID I WILL GET STUCK SOMEWHERE. *TR

I WAS COMING TO AN INTERSECTION I HAD TO STAND ON MY BRAKE PEDAL. I DON'T KNOW HOW FAST EXACTLY BUT IT WAS OVER 100 MPH. IT HAPPENED VERY FAST, I DID TRY TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL BUT MISSED AND HIT REVERSE I THEN WENT SIDEWAYS AND MY CAR MADE SOME VERY WEIRD WHINING SOUNDS. I THEN SHUT OFF THE IGNITION. I SHOULD'VE DONE THAT FIRST BUT IN THAT SITUATION YOU JUST PANIC. AFTER COASTING TO A LONG STOP I STARTED IT AGAIN. SAME THING STILL 8K RPMS, PEDAL STILL AT THE FLOOR, I SHUT IT OFF AND INSPECTED MY PEDAL IT WAS STUCK TO THE FLOOR. NO FLOOR MAT GRABBED IT (LIKE INFINITY INSISTED HAPPENED) AND I AM 150 PERCENT SURE I DID NOT DEPRESS MY PEDAL THEN OR EVER TO THE FLOOR FOR WHICH IT COULD STICK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35 SEDAN. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE REAR DEFROSTER BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. HE WAS ALSO UNABLE TO CHANGE ANY OF THE CLIMATE CONTROL OR RADIO SETTINGS. AFTER THREE DAYS, HE WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE RADIO AND CLIMATE CONTROL SETTINGS. THE FAILURE CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE CONTACT CALLED AN AUTHORIZED DEALER; HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS WITHIN THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000.

I HAVE A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CENTER CONSOLE, CONTROLLING THE HEATER/AC AND THE RADIO IS NOT WORKING. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A CONTROL BOARD PROBLEM THAT INFINITI IS NOT CLAIMING, YET ACCORDING TO THE WEB, THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
MY INFINITI G 35 FIRST BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CD PLAYER. IT NO LONGER WORKS, BUT HAS NOW PROGRESSED TO THE RADIO AND AC OR HEATER FREEZING UP. IT OCCURS MORE FREQUENTLY AS TIME GOES ON. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT I CAN NOT CONTROL THE DEFROST OR HEAT WHEN IT FREEZES. IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING AND YESTERDAY THE HEATER ON THE CAR TURNED ITSELF UP TO 90 DEGREES WITH THE BLOWER AT FULL BLAST. MY DAUGHTER IS A COLLEGE STUDENT AND I AM CONCERNED THAT WHEN SHE DRIVES BACK HOME ON WEEKENDS THAT SHE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE DEFROSTER THIS WINTER. WE NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AND WOULD HATE FOR HER TO BE ON THE INTERSTATE IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE AND NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE DEFROSTER. HE NOTIFIED AN INFINITI DEALER IN REFERENCE TO A RECALL, AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN PERFORMED. THE CONTACT HAS TO PAY $1,300.00 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HIM THAT IF HE DID NOT DRIVE A HOUR AND A HALF TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR AN ASSESSMENT, THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. I WAS DRIVING MY SISTER-IN-LAW TO MACARTHUR AIRPORT IN ISLIP, NY. WE CAME TO A RED LIGHT JUST OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND PUT IT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT I FELT THE CAR WAS STILL TRYING TO MOVE AS THOUGH THERE WAS ANOTHER FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. FORTUNATELY IT WAS NOT THAT MUCH THRUST INVOLVED. I KEPT PRESSING HARDER ON THE BRAKE, BUT THE CAR KEPT INCHING FORWARD AT ABOUT 2 MPH. I WASN'T SURE IF I COULD STOP BEFORE HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME (FORTUNATELY I ALWAYS LEAVE LOTS OF ROOM). SO I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. NHTSA# 10001253 OR 10001162 OR 10001246. THIS SERVICE CAMPAIGN INVOLVED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD. OUR CAR WAS BUILT IN JAN 03 AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL IS WHAT I AM BEING TOLD, BECAUSE IT ONLY COVERED 2003 G35 SEDANS MANUFACTURED THROUGH 8-21-02. THIS CAR SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED UNDER THIS SERVICE CAMPAIGN. SINCE IT IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND APPARENTLY THEY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WHEN THIS CAR WAS BUILT. THE AC UNIT/RADIO ARE NOT IN WORKING ORDER. THE AC IS STUCK ON AT 74 AND RANGES FROM BLOWING AIR FULL BLAST TO THE LOWEST SETTING VERY SPORADICALLY. THERE IS NO POWER TO THE RADIO AND EITHER OF THE TWO CAN BE TURNED ON OR OFF UP OR DOWN. THIS IS A BIG INCONVENIENCE SINCE WE LIVE WHERE IT IS VERY HOT! SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY INFINITI, I NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT REGISTERING THE LEVEL CORRECTLY. WHEN THE GAUGE REACHES APPROXIMATELY ONE-QUARTER TANK FULL, THE GAUGE DROPS TO WELL BELOW THE E MARK AND THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. EVEN AFTER PURCHASING APPROXIMATELY TWENTY DOLLARS WORTH OF GAS THE GAUGE STILL REGISTERS BELOW THE E MARK AND THE LIGHT STAYS ON. LAST WEEK ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2011, I WENT TO PURCHASE GAS BECAUSE THE LIGHT WAS ON. I KNOW MY TANK HOLDS TWENTY GALLONS WHEN EMPTY, SO I THOUGHT IT WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY SEVENTY DOLLARS TO FILL UP, BUT TO MY SURPRISE THE PUMP STOPPED AT FIFTY-THREE DOLLARS, WHICH WAS ABOUT THIRTEEN GALLONS. THE GAUGE ON THE DASH DID NOT EVEN REGISTER TO THE F MARK, IT STOPPED ON THREE-QUARTERS FULL, EVEN THOUGH I TRIED A COUPLE OF TIMES TO FILL THE TANK EVEN MORE. I REPLACED THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENDER IN AUGUST OF 2011 WITH A NEW PART, BUT THIS HAS NOT HELPED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS I DO NOT KNOW THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL IN THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD LEAD TO MY STALLING OUT ON A ROADWAY AND AM NOT ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I AM AWARE OF OTHER INFINITI MODELS GOING THROUGH RECALLS BECAUSE OF FUEL GAUGE PROBLEMS WHICH SOUND IDENTICAL TO WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING, SO MAYBE THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER. THERE IS AN APPARENT KNOWN DEFECT IN THE 2003 INFINITI G35 MODELS. THE RADIO AND CLIMATE CONTROL WILL APPARENTLY LOSE ALL INDICATORS, AS IF THERE IS NO POWER, BUT WILL CONTINUE TO FUNCTION, STAYING FROZEN ON AT THEIR LAST SETTINGS. THE RADIO VOLUME OR CHANNELS CANNOT BE CHANGED AND THE AIR CONDITIONING/HEATER,ETC. ARE STUCK ON THEIR LAST SETTINGS AND CANNOT BE CHANGED WITHOUT TURNING THE CAR OFF. THIS IS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE CONTROL BOARD BEHIND THE DASH. INFINITI/NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND HAS ISSUED A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN (# ITB03-007B) TO REPAIR THE 26,300 VEHICLES LISTED BY VIN # ON THE SERVICE BULLETIN. THIS IS A HAZARD , AS IN THE WINTER, THE FRONT OR REAR DEFROSTERS CANNOT BE TURNED ON, OR THE AIR CONDITIONING TURNED OFF, CAUSING A HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITION. INFINITI SAYS MY 2003 VIN # DOES NOT FALL INTO THE BULLETIN PARAMETERS, (VIN # IS HIGHER), AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM. INFINITI STATES THE COST TO REPAIR.........$2600.00. I HAVE 2 OTHER FRIENDS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2003 G35 INFINITI'S, ALSO NOT COVERED BY THE SERVICE BULLETIN. IT IS APPARENT THAT THE BULLETIN DID NOT GO FAR ENOUGH TO COVER THIS DEFECT ON A LARGER QUANTITY OF VEHICLES THAN INFINITI WANTS TO ADMIT. *TR

THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL BECOME AN EVEN BIGGER ISSUE IN THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN YOU NEED THE WINDOW DEFROSTER ON A DAILY BASIS. *TR
SOMETHING WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ONE DAY WHILE TRYING TO START THE CAR AFTER IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW DAYS, EVERYTHING FLICKERED (HEADLIGHTS, DASHLIGHTS, CONTROL PANEL) AND THEN THE CAR WOULDN'T START.
