THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR WENT OUT ON MY INFINITY G35 CAUSING A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK. THERE IS A RECALL ON THAT YEAR, BUT WHEN I CONTACTED INFINITY, THEY SAID THAT MY MODEL WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. APPARENTLY THAT MODEL HAS THE DEFECT. THE REFUSED TO REPAIR IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND THERE WAS A LOSS OF RPM. THE VEHICLE STALLED APPROXIMATELY TWO TIMES, BUT DID NOT LOSE POWER. THE CONTACT PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE FINALLY RESTARTED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THEM THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 03V455000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
MY 2003 INIFINITY G35 A/C AND RADIO CONTROLS ARE STUCK WHICH IS CAUSING MY WINDOWS TO FOG UP....NOT A BIG DEAL DURING THE SUMMER, BUT THIS COULD BE A MAJOR HAZARD FOR WINTER. ELECTRICAL PROBLEM: THE DASH LIGHTS, RADIO, AIR CONDITIONER, DEFROST, AND HEAT GO OUT 1-2 TIMES A DAY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE NO INTERIOR LIGHTS TO READ ODOMETER, ETC. AND CANNOT DEFROST WINDOWS. I CONTACTED DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS THE RADIO CAUSING PROBLEM AT A COST OF $1200+. CONTACTED OUT-OF-STATE DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS IGNITION SWITCH. DEALER SAID THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE PROBLEM CORRECTLY UNLESS IT IS FAILING AT THE TIME. INTERNET FORUM SHOWS MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR

THE HEATING/DEFROST/AC UNIT STOPS WORKING WHILE DRIVING CAUSING WINDOW TO FOG UP DURING COLD WEATHER - BACK SEATS ARE RIPPING, LIKE BRITTLE. BRAKE LIGHT IN BACK WINDOW GOES OFF AND ON, WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. *TR
INFINITY HAS NEGLECTED TO REMEDY A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THEIR DEFECTIVE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS PARTICULARLY AS IT PERTAINS TO THE 2003 AND 2004 G35 SEDAN WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. EXTREMELY EXCESSIVE WEAR RESULTS IN ROTOR REPLACEMENT EVERY 10-15,000 MILES. WARRANTY PROGRAM ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM FAILED TO INFORM CONSUMERS THAT THE NEW ROTORS REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE ROTORS WERE THE SAME MAKE AND MANUFACTURER. CONSUMERS LED TO BELIEVE DEFECTIVE ROTOR SITUATION WAS RESOLVED ONLY TO DISCOVER (AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED) THAT ROTORS FAILED AGAIN. RESULT IS EXCESSIVE REPAIRS DUE TO FAULTY PARTS AND EXTREME LOSS OF RESALE VALUE. INFINITY REFUSES TO COVER REPLACEMENT. MY 2003 G35 HAS 29,877 MILES AND NEEDS IT'S SECOND SET OF ROTORS! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIR CONDITION WOULD SPORADICALLY FAIL. THE FAILURE WORSENED AND INCLUDED THE RADIO AND CD PLAYER AS WELL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THE EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR FREE BECAUSE HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN RANGES ARE JNKCV51E*3M000014-026621. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF REPAIRING THE AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD AT THE COST OF $1,400. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. I WAS DRIVING OUT OF TOWN 200KM AWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY OIL LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON SO I STOP AT A GAS STATION AND BUY ONE QUART OF OIL(FULL SYNTHETIC) THEN I CHECK MY DIPSTIK AND I NEEDED MORE I USED ALMOST 3 QUARTS OF OIL AND ON MY WAY BACK HOME THE SAME THING HAPPENED SO I TOOK IT TO A GARAGE TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY LEAKS NOTHING WAS FOUND AND HAD TO PAY TO HAVE ENGINE LIGHT SHUT OFF I ALSO WENT ON INFINITI FORUMS AND ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I AM I CONTACTED INFINITI AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO OTHER THEN DOING A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST I SAID I WOULD DO IT AND IF IT DID BURN IF THEY WOULD REPLACE THE ENGINE THEY SAID NO ALSO I KNOW A NISSAN/INFINITI GARAGE MANAGER HE TOLD ME OFF RECORD THAT THEY KNOW THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE 6 SPEED (M6) MODELS WITCH IS WHAT I HAVE BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT AND WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND I CALLED INFINITI HEAD OFFICE IN CANADA AND TRIED TO TALK TO THEM THEY WHERE VERY RUDE AND WOULD NOT TALK TO ME UNTIL I SEND THEN A COPY OF MY OWNERSHIP AND DRIVERS LICENSE AND PRETTY MUCH HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35 SEDAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 45,000 MILES. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKES FAILED ON THE VEHICLE AND WERE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, IT WOULD JOLT AND JERK ON ITS OWN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE ASSUMED THAT THE REPAIRS COULD BE MADE UNDER THE EXTENDED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE WARRANTY DID NOT INCLUDE THE FLY WHEEL OR THE CLUTCH COMPONENT OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 45,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,800.

OTHER ENGINE FUNCTIONS AND AIR CONDITIONING CONTROLS ARE ROUTED THROUGH THE RADIO CIRCUIT BOARD SO WHEN THIS FAILS, IT PRESENTS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHEN THE RADIO SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS, THE AIR CONDITIONER IS SET TO MAXIMUM SETTING. ALSO IN SOME CASES, THE MALFUNCTIONING RADIO RESULTS IN BATTERY DRAIN. OUR 2003 G-35 INFINITY WAS STRUCK ON THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AT OR JUST BEHIND THE BUMPER. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR THAT STRUCK OUR VEHICLE RAN THROUGH A RED LIGHT, DID NOT SLOW ON A ROAD THAT HAD A SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MPH (AT LEAST). THE CAR WAS TOTALED. *JB

I JUST BECAME AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM TODAY. DEALER -- WHO CLEARLY KNEW THE PROBLEM EXISTED LAST YEAR -- SOLD ME NEW BATTERY, AND NEVER MENTIONED THIS STANDARD PROBLEM. THAT BATTERY, PURCHASED 7/23/07 WAS DEAD THURSDAY 6/26/08 AND AGAIN WEDNESDAY, 7/2/08. *TR

MY INFINITI 2003 G35 RADIO CIRCUIT BOARD FAILED BECAUSE OF FAULTY ENGINEERING. THIS CAUSES THE WINDSHIELD DEFROST FUNCTION TO STOP WORKING. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET SITTING THE SAME PROBLEM. INFINITI WANTS 800.00 TO REPAIR THE RADIO TO GET THE DEFROSTER TO WORK AGAIN. CD GOT STUCK IN CD PLAYER. RADIO STARTED CUTTING IN AND OUT. THEN THE DASH PANEL THAT CONTROLLED THE STEREO, CD, HEATER, AC, ETC DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE A/C DOES NOT SHUT OFF, WHEREAS ALL THE OTHER DEVICES DO NOT TURN ON. I CAN STILL USE THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL BUT THE OTHER CONTROLS ON THE DASH (EXCEPT NAVIGATION) STOP WORKING. *TR
I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW AIR BAG AND A NEW MODULE FOR THE BRAKE LAMP LOCATED IN THE BACK WINDOW. THERE WAS NO REASON PROVIDED AS TO WHY THESE ITEMS BROKE. I THINK THESE WERE SAFETY DEFECTS.*AK
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH INFINITI G35 COUPE'S AND SEDANS. MANY G35 OWNERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY INCLUDING MY HOMETOWN ARIZONA, HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THEIR THIRD BRAKE LIGHT (IN THE REAR VIEW WINDOW) NOT DISPLAYING WHEN THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS TO THE MANUFACTURE BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I FIGURED THIS IS A STEP FOR NOT JUST OTHER OWNERS TO REALIZE THE PROBLEM BUT TO HAVE IT ANNOUNCED NATION WIDE SO WE ARE NOT AT FAULT FOR THE FAULTY PRODUCT. WE DON'T WANT TO BE PULLED OVER FOR NOT HAVING A NON WORKING THIRD BRAKE LIKE OR EVEN CAUSE A CRASH DUE TO SOMEONE NOT SEEING A BRAKE LIGHT IN THE CENTER. AS A OWNER OF INFINITI G35 COUPE THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPONENTS THAT NEED ADDRESSING TO BUT THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH THAT THE OWNERS ARE ABLE TO DO. I WRITE YOU THIS IN ORDER TO HAVE ANOTHER WORD THAT IS HIGHER UP THE JUST AN AVERAGE JOE OWNER COMPLAINING ABOUT THERE PRODUCT. THIS IS A FAULTY PART THAT US AS OWNERS SHOULD NOT BE A FAULT FOR IN ANY MEANS. IN FEBRUARY 2007 THE CD PLAYER ATE MY CD AND I NOTICED THE HEATER BECAME DEACTIVATED ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE AUDIO SYSTEM. ORIGINALLY, WHEN THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY, THE DEALER REPLACED SAID SYSTEM. THESE ARE ALL FACTORY PARTS. WHEN I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SIMPLY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE AUDIO SYSTEM AND CIRCUIT BOARD UNIT AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1500. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT. I WROTE A LETTER TO INFINITI REQUESTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, MORE THAN 6 MONTHS AGO, AND TO DATE NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE DEALERSHIP KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IT WAS A INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP THAT CITED THE "TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN", AND RECOMMENDED I CONTACT THE DEALER. AS OF DECEMBER 3, 2008, THE DEALER STILL EXPECT ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS IN TOTAL, AND ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
COPY OF WHAT I SENT TO INFINITI VIA INFINITI.COM: MY 2003 INFINITI G35 HAS BEEN INTO THE ORLANDO INFINITI DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. IN THE LAST TRIP IT WAS AT THE DEALER FOR EIGHTEEN (18) DAYS AND THE ISSUE IS STILL UNRESOLVED. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, JOHN, I WAS TOLD THAT HE CALLED INFINITI TECHNICAL SUPPORT WHO STATED THAT THE PROBLEM IS CONSIDERED NORMAL OPERATION. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW UNDER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES A TRANSMISSION JERK AT AROUND 40 MPH IS NORMAL, AS I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN A VEHICLE THAT HAS DONE THIS, INCLUDING THE 2007 G35 COURTESY CAR THAT INFINITI LOANED TO ME. IF THIS IS CONSIDERED NORMAL OPERATION, WOULD NOT ALL INFINITI VEHICLES EXHIBIT THIS? ON THE NHTSA.GOV WEBSITE THERE ARE EIGHT (8) PENDING COMPLAINTS OF OWNERS EXPERIENCING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, AND TWO (2) TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS LISTED. ALSO, AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, JOHN, IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE ARE OTHER G35 MODELS AT THIS DEALERSHIP EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES; AND THEIRS ARE ALSO STILL UNRESOLVED. I AM ASKING THAT I BE TREATED THE WAY A CUSTOMER SHOULD BE, AS THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN HANDLED VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT THAT TIME, METRO INFINITY , THE DEALERSHIP, TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THEY PUT NEW TIRES ON THE CAR IN MAY 23, 2006. THE CONTACT HAS FOUND IN JANUARY 2007 THAT THE TIRES ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR WERE 2003 TIRES, AND THE TIRES ON THE REAR OF THE CAR WERE 2005. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SIZE OF THE TIRES ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR WERE P225/50R 17-9V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT TIRES WEREWORN IN THE CENTER AND CRACKED ON THE SIDES WHILE THE REAR TIRES WERE LIKE NEW. THE CONTACT WOULD LIKE FOR METRO INFINITY TO REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES. *AK
RECENTLY THE AUDIO/AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL UNIT IS INOPERATIVE. THE DISPLAY ON THE AUDIO SOURCE GOES BLANK. SINCE I CAN'T CONTROL MY HEAT/COOL SETTING I FEEL HELPLESS WHEN I WANT TO ADJUST FOR COMFORT. I HAVE BEEN READING A FEW COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE HAVE A VOLUNTEER SERVICE RECALL FOR THE CIRCUIT BOARD, BUT IT ONLY COVERS THROUGH APRIL 2002. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ON DECEMBER 2002. CAN YOU TELL ME IF THEIR HAS BEEN AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE SERVICE RECALL THAT WOULD PUT ME IN A BETTER POSITION? *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 51,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

I CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND HAD THE PARTS AND CAN PERFORM THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, BUT CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT INFINITI APPROVAL AND AUTHORIZATION. I THEN CALLED INFINITI AND THEY SAY EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A POTENTIAL FIRE POSSIBILITY WITH MY CAR THEY WILL NOT AUTHORIZE A NISSAN DEALER TO DO THE REPAIRS. WE LIVE 200 MILES, 3 HOURS FROM THE NEAREST INFINITI DEALER AND WILL NOT MAKE THAT TRIP, FUEL AND OVERNIGHT EXPENSES (AS PER THEIR RECALL NOTICE THEY WILL REQUIRE THE CAR FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS) FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THESE REPAIRS. IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT NISSAN AMERICA WOULD PUT A CUSTOMER OF THEIRS LIFE AT RISK FOR THE COST OF THESE REPAIRS. AS YOU KNOW, THERE'S NO INFINITI LISTED IN THE VEHICLE LISTS ON YOUR SITE, THEY'RE LISTED AS NISSAN AMERICA, YET THEY WON'T LET THEIR OWN NISSAN DEALERSHIP PERFORM SAFETY REPAIRS ON THEIR OWN INFINITI AUTOMOBILES. *NM

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO REAFFIRMED THE INFINITY RECALLS HAD TO BE PERFORMED BY THE INFINITY DEALERSHIPS ONLY. THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP FROM THE CONTACTS LOCALITY WAS SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS AWAY. THE CONTACT WOULD NOT ACCEPT SUCH A CRITERIA BECAUSE INFINITY WAS MANUFACTURED BY NISSAN.

2003 INFINITI G35 WITH A RECALL ON THE ENGINE. CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE DEALER TOLD HER THAT HER CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THE SYMPTOMS WERE THE SAME. DEALER REFUSED TO FIX IT UNLESS SHE PAID 11,000 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. *KB THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN BECAUSE THE PISTON BROKE CAUSING IT TO HIT THE ENGINE WHICH PUT A HOLE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. THE CONSUMER HAD A USED ENGINE PUT IN THE VEHICLE ON JULY 24, 2006 BUT, ONE YEAR LATER THE ENGINE FAILED.
