EVERY FEW WEEKS, FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS, WHEN BRAKING AND MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLS. POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING ARE LOST. THE CAR NEEDS TO THEN BE PLACED INTO NEUTRAL, OR PARK, TO BE RESTARTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 20-40 MPH AND HAS RESULTED IN NEAR-MISS ACCIDENTS. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ONLINE THAT IT HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER PEOPLE WHILE ON HIGHWAY EXIT RAMPS. I WOULD BRING IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS, BUT SINCE IT HAPPENS INFREQUENTLY THE LIKELIHOOD OF IT HAPPENING TO THEM FOR DIAGNOSIS IS NOT GOOD. I HAVE ATTACHED A DOCUMENT WITH LINKS TO OTHERS' COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE. AS YOU WILL READ, THERE IS NO DEALER CONSENSUS FOR A DIAGNOSIS, OR REPAIR. LASTLY, THERE WAS A RECALL (P54) IN 2014 THAT INVOLVED FIXING STALLING. THAT RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON MY CAR AT THE TIME, SO THAT DOES NOT EXPLAIN THIS SITUATION.
PURCHASED VEHICLE 12-15-18. SINCE THEN, THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED INTERMITTENTLY (3 TIMES IN 2 WEEKS) AT STOPS WITHOUT ANY LIGHTS APPEARING ON INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FIRST TIME, I WASN'T EVEN AWARE THE ENGINE CUT OUT UNTIL I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE STARTS BACK UP, BUT WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR IMMEDIATELY. IN ONE INSTANCE, IT TOOK ABOUT 5 SECONDS TO GO INTO GEAR. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALER WHERE PURCHASED (PAULY TOYOTA- CRYSTAL LAKE, IL.) WHO RECOMMENDED BRINGING IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP. BROUGHT TO CRYSTAL LAKE, IL CRYSLER JEEP DODGE WHO COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM AS NO FAULTS APPEARED UNDER TEST. FLUIDS WERE CLEAN, AND AT PROPER LEVELS. WAS TOLD TO DRIVE VEHICLE UNTIL CONDITION REAPPEARED, AND IT WOULD BE REINVESTIGATED. THIS IS SIMILAR TO OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE TYPE STALLING, EXCEPT THAT SO FAR, IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT A STOP IN TRAFFIC.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ELGIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1010 E CHICAGO ST, ELGIN, IL 60120, (847) 697-0900), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND DECELERATED TO 40 MPH. THE CONTACT HAD TO CONTINUALLY PUMP THE BRAKES TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY DODGE JEEP RAM (1890 DOGWOOD DR SE, CONYERS, GA 30013, 678-210-2489) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.
WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY (TEMPS 3 TO 7 ABOVE ZERO) AIR SUSPENSION CAUSED VEHICLE TO LOWER TO LOWEST RIDE WHICH INTERN CAUSED VEHICLE TO SLIDE AND BOUNCE UNCONTROLLABLY ON HIGHWAY, AIR SUSPENSION STOPS WORKING WITHOUT NOTICE. HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR IN COLD TEMPS.
THE ENGINE INSTANTLY STALLS WITHOUT WARNING AT ANY GIVEN TIME OR SPEED WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET OR HIGHWAY. THE STALL UNEXPECTEDLY FORCES THE DRIVER INTO AN UNSAFE OPERATING POSITION HAVING TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE MUST THEN BE SHIFTED BACK INTO PARK AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED A MINIMUM OF 30 TIMES ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST 12 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS EXAMINED BY OUR LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE STALLING OR PROVIDE US WITH A COURSE OF ACTION TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION COOLER IS LEAKING. NO WARNING, JUST FLUID ON THE GROUND - SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS ONLINE. OIL PRESSURE SENSOR NOT WORKING. - NO WARNING, SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS ON LINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAVID DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP (610-358-5300, LOCATED AT 1801 WILMINGTON PIKE, GLEN MILLS, PA 19342) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTING IT, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME SAFELY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED; HOWEVER, "FORWARD COLLISION WARNING" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. OXMOOR CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE AND RAM (4520 SHELBYVILLE RD, LOUISVILLE, KY 40207, (502) 895-4520) WAS CONTACTED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR THE SAME FAILURE A YEAR AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

AFTER APPROXIMATELY FOUR ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE STALLED THREE OTHER TIMES BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,115.
THE ENGINE SUDDENLY DIES WHILE CRUISING, DISABLING STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE ASSIST.
VEHICLE LOOSES COMPLETE POWER WHILE TURNING LEFT AFTER APPROXOMATELY 2.5 MILES FROM COLD START. COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER HAS OCURRED ON 5 OCCASIONS . THE RESULT IS NO POWER BREAKS AND NO POWER STEERING IN ADDITION TO COMPLETE ELECTRIAL SHUT OFF. THIS HAS RTESULTED IN THE BEING UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE TURN AND ENTERING THE ON COMING LANE.
LIFTER SEIZED IN #3 CYLINDER CAUSING CAM FAILURE WHILE DRIVING

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ORR CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (900 TRUMAN BAKER DR, SEARCY, AR 72143, (501) 279-3311) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AT THE SAME INTERSECTION. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AGAIN AND COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE ACCELERATING TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH OR 3000 RPMS. I LET OFF THE GAS THINKING THE JEEP WOULD SLOW, BUT IT DIDN'T SLOW DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO DECELERATE BY BRAKING (OBVIOUSLY). HOWEVER, I WAS STILL UNABLE TO GO FASTER THAN APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH OR 3000 RPMS. I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP TWICE BEFORE BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND I WAS TOLD THE OIL PUMP WAS STUCK ON LOW (?) THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR THE PAST FOUR MONTHS. THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE DESPITE REGULAR SERVICE MAINTENANCE VISITS.
CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START. AFTER A FEW TRIES IT WILL START. STALLS WHILE UNDERWAY STOPPING AT LIGHT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS. THE LATEST WAS THIS MORNING.
MY JEEP IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS OTHER JEEPS THAT WERE RECALLED FOR FUEL PUMP RELAY ISSUES BUT MINE IS NOT RECALLED. MY VEHICLE TURNS OVER AND EVENTUALLY TIMES OUT. AND I CAN HEAR THE FUEL PUMP RUNNING WHEN I TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND PULL THE KEY OUT. OTHER CARS SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING WITH THIS ISSUE AND I DONT WANT TO WAIT UNTIL THAT HAPPENS TO GET THIS FIXED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE POWER LOCKS WERE INOPERABLE AND THE POWER OUTLET FAILED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC NOTICED THAT A WIRE ATTACHED TO THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) HAD BURNED OUT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DICK SCOTT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM PLYMOUTH (LOCATED AT 684 W ANN ARBOR RD, PLYMOUTH, MI 48170, 734-259-2023) WHO STATED THAT THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT DESPITE THE VEHICLE MATCHING THE CRITERIA OF THE VEHICLE'S INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
LEATHER DASHBOARD IS BUBBLING/WRINKLING UP. THE WRINKLES IN THE LEATHER DASH COULD CAUSE AN IRREGULAR PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. JEEP DEALER TATE IN FREDERICK MD REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS. JUST GOOGLE FOR THE YEAR MAKE AND MODEL AND WRINKLES IN THE LEATHER DASH. HORROR PICTURES AND STORIES. I AM ONE OF THEM. PLEASE HELP I AM VERY CONCERNED NOW THAT I READ THIS ISSUE COULD CAUSE AN IRREGULAR PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
THE DOORS WON'T LOCK AUTOMATICALLY SOMETIMES
My Jeep 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was repaired under Recall P54 (NHTSA 14V-530) on October 20, 2016, which was supposed to fix a fuel-pump relay defect that could cause engine stalling. Despite the recall repair, stalling continued and worsened, forcing me to pay $573.56 for an independent repair on July 16, 2024 to restore safe operation. Jeep later issued Recall V62 (NHTSA 19V-813) in 2019, acknowledging that the earlier P54 recall fix was defective and could fail due to silicon contamination. I did not receive notice of V62 until late summer 2025, long after paying for repairs. Jeep denied my reimbursement request, citing lack of prior contact and the fact that repairs were done by an independent shop. This is unfair and contrary to federal recall reimbursement policy, since the defect was safety-related, the original recall fix failed, and Jeep admitted that V62 was issued to correct P54’s failure. I request that NHTSA review this case and ensure Stellantis/Jeep complies with recall reimbursement obligations under 49 CFR §573.13.
IN OCTOBER 2018 WE HAD A FRONTEND COLLISION ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A DEER. SINCE THEN THE AIR SUSPENSION RIDE HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY. IT HAS BEEN IN FOR MAJOR REPAIRS NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DODGE DEALER SENDS US HOME HOPING THAT THEY GUESSED THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY. TO NO AVAIL. THE PROBLEM RETURNS. WE CALL THE HOTLINE AND PLAY PHONE TAG WITH A REPRESENTATIVE.

ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN THE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE POSITION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND AN UNKNOWN INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED A COUPLE OF TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD SOMETIMES NOT START FROM A COLD START. THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT THE GEAR OUT OF PARK IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KERNERSVILLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (950 NC-66, KERNERSVILLE, NC 27284, (888) 656-5791) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (FUSE BOX) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CIRCUIT WAS NOT GETTING POWER TO THE FAN TO COOL THE RADIATOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE COMPUTER, ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, AND NOW THE TIPM. THIS CAR ALMOST CAUGHT ON FIRE ONCE BEFORE DUE TO THE FAULTY COMPUTER SYSTEM. NOW WITH THE TIPM MALFUNCTIONING, THE CAR WOULDN'T START. THE BATTERY DISCHARGED SO WE WOULD TAKE IT TO GET CHARGED, THE CAR WOULD WORK FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS THEN IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS LAST TIME, THE CAR NEVER RESTARTED. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS A FAULTY TIPM. JEEP CHEROKEES 2012-2014 ARE RECALLED FOR THIS!! WHY AREN'T THE 2011S?
VEHICLE SHOWS " AIR SUSPENSION SERVICE/REPAIR" MESSAGE SHORTLY AFTER STARTING VEHICLE AND WILL FLASH MESSAGE THROUGHOUT TIME VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. HAS HAD AIR COMPRESSOR PUMP REPLACED WITHIN THE LAST YEAR. LOCAL DEALERSHIP (COAST AUTO IN OREGON) UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR FIX PROBLEM OVER MULTIPLE VISITS. VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO MOVE BETWEEN VEHICLE HEIGHTS OR WILL DROP AND SIT ON WHEELS MAKING IT INOPERABLE. DASH LEATHER IS WRINKLING AND BUBBLING.
WHILE DECELERATING IN A RIGHT TURN THE ENGINE QUIT. IT STARTED RIGHT UP AFTERWARDS.
Aloha i have a 2011 jeep grand cherokee that is over heating. It started when leading up to the recall for a fuel pump relay. The part didnt really exist is what the dealership mention. They would put an order in for the part but it took almost 2 months for it to come in then they put the part in jeep has never drove the same. I pulled up the code P0443 evap system I change that checked codes still had code n problem. I'm running out of option n money about to give up. Pls help is possible would like to jus get another vehicle but I spent mosr of my funds trying to find the jeep smh. Help

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT CALLED THE LAFONTAINE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT OF LANSING DEALER LOCATED AT 6131 S. PENNSYLVANIA AVE, LANSING, MI 48911, AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THREE INSTANCES WHERE TWO STATIONARY AND ONE IN MOTION FULL ACCELERATION WITH OUT TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK. CAUSED MY TRANSMISSION OIL TO BURN WHICH LEAD TO A FAULTY TRANSMISSION. PCIM WAS FLASHED AND CAUSED TRANSMISSION TO DECELERATE AT 40MPH LOOSING ALL FUNCTION.
WHEN DRIVING MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IT WILL RANDOMLY STALL WHILE ENTERING A TURN OR STARTING TO BRAKE AND IT WILL COMPLETELY LOOSE POWER STEERING AND SHUT OFF. I HAVE ALMOST HIT A GUARD RAIL A COUPLE TIMES AND ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START RIGHT BACK UP. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND IT STILL KEEPS HAPPENING AFTER THEY CLAIM THEY FIXED IT. THEY DON'T SEEM TO CONCERN WHILE I ALMOST HAVE BEEN INTO SEVERAL ACCIDENTS WHICH INCLUDED MY 18 MONTH OLD AND WIFE IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR OVER 4 YEARS AND THIS HAS OCCURRED EVER SENSE I BOUGHT IT.
THIS IS THE WORSE VEHICLE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT! NEVER AGAIN! I BEEN STRANDED SEVERAL TIMES. AS SOON AS I GET A JUMP AND BRING IT TO HAVE IT CHECKED THE MECHANIC STATES NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE ALTERNATOR OR THE BATTERY. NO CODES POP UP AS ANYTHING IS WRONG. I'VE BEEN IN A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION WHERE MY CAR STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD. THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET THE CAR TO WORK WAS TO TURN IT OFF AND START IT AGAIN. THEN IT WAS FINE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANYTHING AS FAR AS RECALLS. THAT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. ANOTHER PROBLEM THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED WAS THE CAR ACCELERATING ON ITS ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE NOT CONCERNED. AND ANOTHER PROBLEM IS MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW ALL OF A SUDDEN WOULD GET STUCK. IVE HAD PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE AND THE DEALERSHIP ACTS LIKE IT IS NO CONCERN. AS I READ MAJORITY OF COMPLAIN IS FALLING TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE TIPM BUT NOTHING IS GETTING DONE ABOUT IT. I CONSTANTLY CHECK THIS SITE TO SEE IF THE GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO PROTECT THE CONSUMERS BY FORCING MORE RECALLS ON ELECTRICAL OR TIPM BOARDS, BUT THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE, MANY LIVES TAKEN AWAY OVER IT????
ALTERNATOR DIODES EXPERIENCED RAPID FAILURE DISABLING THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. PREVIOUS RECALL FOR 2012-2014 MODELS FOR SAME REASON P60/NHTSA 14V-634. WE HAD THE ALTERNATOR DIAGNOSED BY UPEX AUTO SUPPLY IN DALLAS TEXAS AND THEY CONFIRMED THE DIODE FAILURE. ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES ENSUED WHICH ARE YET TO BE DETERMINED AFTER THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 36 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000. *TT*JB
ENGINE TURNED OFF WHILE EXITING FREEWAY DECELERATING AND MAKING A SLIGHT RIGHT TURN. THE ONLY WAY TO RESTART IS TO PRESS ON BRAKE RETURN SHIFTER TO PARK AND RESTART ENGINE BY PUSHING START BUTTON. SCARY AND DANGEROUS SITUATION. ALSO AFFECTED STEERING AND BRAKES.
OUR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE SITTING IN THE CARPORT UNDER OUR HOME UNATTENDED AND UNPOWERED ON AUGUST 25 2018. THE 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS SERVICED BY THE SPITZER CHRYSLER JEEP DEALER IN HOMESTEAD FLORIDA ON AUGUST 22 2018 FOR RECALL R71/NHTSA 15V-879 PLUS TWO OTHER ITEMS. THE VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP LATE ON FRIDAY AUGUST 24 AND DRIVEN HOME WHERE THE VEHICLE REMAINED PARKED UNTIL IT CAUGHT FIRE THE NEXT MORNING AROUND 1135. I HAD JUST WALKED PAST THE CAR AT AROUND 1130 AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. BY 1155 WE NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER OUR HOME AND I RUSHED DOWN TO FIND A BLAZING INFERNO. I CALLED 911 AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED FIGHTING THE FIRE TO PREVENT MY HOME FROM CATCHING FIRE AND BURNING DOWN. FIRE INSPECTIONS WERE COMPLETED BY THE STATE FIRE MARSHALL, USAA INSURANCE FIRE INSPECTOR, FCA CHRYSLER FIRE INSPECTOR, AND ZURICH INSURANCE FIRE INSPECTOR. THE RECALL AND FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY PROCESS. FCA CHRYSLER CHOOSE TO DENY ANY RESPONSIBILITY IN BUILDING A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE AND DEVELOPING A RECALL WHICH ONCE APPLIED MADE OUR VEHICLE MORE LIKELY TO CATCH FIRE. OUR GRAND CHEROKEE IS NOT THE ONLY VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE AFTER THE RECALL WAS APPLIED. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE INTERNET WILL FIND OTHERS THAT HAVE BURNED POST RECALL. MY INSURANCE CARRIER RELAYED TO ME THAT ONE AGENT HAD ADVISED A FRIEND NOT THE HAVE THE RECALL DONE AS SOME CARS WERE BURNING POST RECALL. WHILE FCA CHRYSLER IS TRYING TO PLACE BLAME ON THE DEALER WHO APPLIED THE RECALL THE FACTS AND OTHER INSPECTIONS DO NOT SUPPORT THAT CONCLUSION. FCA CHRYSLER HAS DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND CONSIDERS THE CASE CLOSED AS THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE FACED WITH ANOTHER 600,000 TO 700,000 VEHICLE RECALL JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OR DODGE DURANGO VEHICLES COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. *DT*JB *DT*JB
JEEP WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. WENT TO START UP AND JEEP INTERMITTENTLY STARTS & THEN CUTS OFF OR WILL NOT START AT ALL. NOW BEING SERVICED AT DEALERSHIP. LUCKILY, I WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT THE TIME OF THE OCCURRENCE. HOWEVER, HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THE SYMPTOMS APPEAR TO BE THE SAME AS YOUR FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL BACK IN 2014 FOR 2011 JEEP/GRAND CHEROKEE. HOWEVER, I HAVE BEEN THE SOLE OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION. IS THIS STILL COVERED UNDER THE RECALL?

APPROXIMATELY ONE TIME PER MONTH FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS MY GRAND CHEROKEE STALLS ONE SECOND AFTER I PUSH THE START BUTTON FROM PARK. I NEED TO PUSH THE BUTTON AGAIN TO "TURN IT OFF" EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T ACTUALLY ON BEFORE I CAN TRY TO RESTART IT AGAIN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY. TRY RESTARTING MAY TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THERE IS NO RESPONSE FROM THE ENGINE IE: NOT TURNING OVER, STARTER NOT ENGAGING. ONCE IT STARTS IT DRIVES FINE UNTIL THE NEXT OCCURRENCE. THIS ALSO HAPPENS QUITE OFTEN WHEN FIRST TRYING TO START THE CAR AS WELL.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS IN THE LAST FEW DAYS, THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED TO RESPOND (EXTREME FORCE IS NEEDED TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL), WHICH DELAYS BRAKING TIME/DISTANCE SIGNIFICANTLY. THIS IS HAPPENING SPECIFICALLY WHEN TRYING TO DISENGAGE FROM CRUISE CONTROL. THIS ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. THE CAR HAD A BREAK BOOSTER RECALL IN 2017 AND THIS REPAIR WAS COMPLETED AT THAT TIME.
EVERY FEW WEEKS, WITHIN THE PAST YEAR, MY VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING. IN THE PAST IT HAS BEEN WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. THIS MORNING IT STALLED WHILE DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. AT EACH TIME IT HAS BEEN WHILE IN MOTION AND TURNING.
THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LEAKS AND NO WAY OF CHECKING TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL COULD CAUSE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL UNEXPECTEDLY
I HAD MY 3 VERY YOUNG GRANDCHILDREN WITH ME AND WAS HEADING TO TOWN IN JULY OF THIS YEAR. I WENT TO TURN FROM A RURAL ROAD , MAKING A LEFT, ONTO A MAIN ROAD. THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING, THE JEEP JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. THANK GOD IT WAS NOT A BUSY TIME OF DAY . I WAS TOLD THERE WAS ONLY 1 OWNER WHEN I BOUGHT IT, AND I KEPT THE OIL CHANGED EVERY 5000 MILES, WAS ALWAYS TOLD SEALED TRANSMISSION. TOWED TO HOME THEN 2 WEEKS LATER TOWED TO DAN HEMM GMC JEEP WHERE IT STILL SITS BECAUSE THEY WANT 4800 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, AND I AM ON DISABILITY AND DONT HAVE IT.
THE LEATHER COVERING ON THE DASHBOARD SHRANK, CRUMPLED AND WRINKLED POPPING THE AIR VENT COVERINGS OUT. THE PROBLEM NOT ONLY RESTRICTS AIR FLOW (DEFROSTING, ETC) IT ALSO MAY PREVENT THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS. IT LOOKS HORRIBLE AND DECREASES THE VALUE OF MY CAR, BUT IT PRESENTS SAFETY ISSUES. THE COMPANY HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND APPROVED MY VEHICLE FOR REPAIR, BUT THEY HAVE ALSO RESTRICTED THE NUMBER OR REPAIR KITS AVAILABLE AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MONTHS AND AM TOLD IT COULD BE MONTHS MORE. THEY WILL NOT GIVE A DATE.THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I NEED IT TO BE FIXED AND THEY HAVE DELIBERATELY RESTRICTED THE NUMBER OF PARTS AVAILABLE TO CUSTOMERS WITH DEFECTIVE AUTOMOBILES. IN ADDITION, MY VEHICLE HAS A FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL. THIS PART HAS ALSO NOT BEEN AVAILABLE FOR MONTHS AND HAS NO PREDICTED DELIVERY DATE. I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUES, THEN DELIBERATELY SLOW PRODUCTION OF THE PARTS REQUIRED FOR REPAIRS. BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND FCA CUSTOMER SERVICE SAY THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME. OBVIOUSLY THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AT A HIGHER LEVEL, BUT THERE IS NOT AN OPTION FOR THAT IN THE PHONE TREE. I NEED MY CAR FIXED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WENT TO ACTIVATE CRUISE CONTROL USING THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. WOULD NOT ACTIVATE EVEN AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS. TOOK IT TO DEALER WHO EXCLAIMED "RECALL" BUT AFTER CHECKING, HE SAID THE RECALL DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE. THEN FOUND OUT OTHER OPTIONS DO NOT WORK EITHER. PLAN ON TAKING TO A DIFFERENT DEALER TO HAVE RECHECKED. THIS "DEFECT HAPPENS WHETHER MOVING OR NOT.I BECAME AWARE OF THIS WHILE ON HWY 45 GOING FROM MILWAUKEE TO HARTFORD, WIS BUT SHOWED IT TO THE RUSS DARROW DEALER UPON MY RETURN WHILE STATIONARY IN HIS SHOP.
