THE OIL COOLER HOUSING HAS CRACKED ON MY 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. AS PER THE DEALERSHIP THIS IS A PART THAT IS KNOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE AND THERE IS NO RELIABLE AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT.
TPMS LIGHT STAYING ON TIRES PROPERLY INFLATED HAD DISCOUNT CHECK IT OUT WAS TOLD . PROBLEM WITH COMPUTER SOFTWARE THEY RESET TPMS BUT LIGHT CAME BACK ON EVEN THOUGH TIRES PROPERLY INFLATED
NOTICED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK. AFTER SOME RESEARCH FOUND THAT IT'S OIL LEAKING FROM THE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY THEN RETURNED HOME AND NOTICED OIL ON THE GARAGE FLOOR.
WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP ON THE ROAD I NOTICED SMOKE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED ASIDE AND SEEN NOTOR OIL LEAK. APPAREANTLY JEEP CRYSLER K OW ABOUT A PROBLEM WITH OIL COOLER HOUSING LEAKING. THEY HAD A BACK ORDER ON THE PART AND SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS PARTICULAR JEEP MODEL AND YEAR ACCORDING TO MANY JEEP FORUMS ONLINE. LUCKLY I NOTICED SMOKE OTHERWISE COULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE OR COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE JEEP ONLY HAS 37K MILES AND THIS SEEMS TO BE WHEN OTHERS HAD ISSUES.
JEEP WAS TOTALLY DEAD ON 8/9/2017. ..I REPLACED BATTERY AND IT CRANKED BUT NONE OF THE ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ON STEERING COLUMN WORK, I.E. BLINKERS, HORN, LIGHTS, STEREO CONTROLS, WIND SHIELD WIPERS..ETC. (ANYTHING ON THE STEERIMG COLUMN MINUS THE IGNITION SWITCH). I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE STATED THE IPCM IS BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MECHANIC STATED HE HAS SEEN 3 OFF THESE THIS WEEK ALONE FROM CHRYSLER PRODUCTS. IT IS A 2014 WITH 40K MILES, NEVER BEEN OFF ROUND. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT A MONTH AGO WITH THE CODE P054C BUT WENT OFF AT THE NEXT CRANK UP AND HADNT COME ON AGAIN. WHY WOULD THIS PART JUST FAIL? IT'S NOTHING I DID. SOUNDS LIKE A FAULTY PART.
TODAY HAD ISSUES WITH MY JEEP SMOKING WHILE DRIVING ON SOME TRAILS IN NEW MEXICO. FOUND SOME OIL UNDERNEATH THE MOTOR NEAR THE TRANSMISSION. COULD NOT FIND THE LEAK SO CAME BACK AND DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT MANY JEEP OWNERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. I FOUND OUT THAT CHRYSLER/JEEP HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THEIR OIL FILTER/COOLER HOUSING SINCE 2013/2014. I HAVE ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THEY HAVE MADE 3+ ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THIS PART BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO HAVE ALL OF THESE REPLACED. FROM THE MECHANICS I'VE DISCUSSED THIS WITH THE ISSUE IS QUITE DANGEROUS. THE OIL LEAKS FROM THIS HOUSING DOWN INTO THE "V" OF THE ENGINE BETWEEN THE VALVES AND SITS THERE WITH THE POTENTIAL OF CATCHING FIRE AND BURNING THE VEHICLE AND ITS OCCUPANTS. THE MFG KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR THE LAST 3-4 YEARS BUT IS EXPECTING THE OWNERS TO PAY FOR THE DEFECT FROM MANUFACTURING. THE MFG SHOULD BE REPLACING THESE PARTS AS PART OF A LARGER RECALL. I AM CURRENTLY MILES FROM HOME (900 MILES) AND NOW WILL HAVE TO ADD OIL EVERY SO OFTEN TO ENSURE THE ENGINE DOESN'T SEAZE UP ON THE WAY HOME THEN BE OUT PERSONAL TIME TRYING TO GET IT FIXED.
JEEP STARTED SMOKING IN THE DASH AND THEN CAUGHT ON FIRE. THANKS GOODNESS A PASSER-BUYER HAD FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND PUT OUT FIRE. *BF *JS UPDATED 10/25/18*JB
IMPROPER DESIGN OF OIL COOLING UNIT - WEAK AND INCAPABLE OF REPEATED MAINTENANCE STRESSES. SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE WITH LOCAL AUTO MAINTENANCE SHOP REVEALED SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF OIL COATING REAR OF ENGINE, TRANSMISSION BELL HOUSING, AND LIGHT SHEEN OF OIL COATING MANY COMPONENTS ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE. POOLED OIL ON THE ENGINE BLOCK AT THE FRONT, DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH OIL FILTER HOUSING. HOURS OF INTERNET RESEARCH LEADS ME TO MULTIPLE JEEP MESSAGE FORUMS WITH SIMILAR/IDENTICAL SCENARIO. EVERY OWNER FINDS CAUSE IN FAULTY/COMPROMISED "ADAPTER-ENGINE OIL FILTER" JEEP PART NUMBER 68105583AA. NOTED THAT THIS PART HAS BEEN UPGRADED/REVISED TO AN AE DESIGNATION, THUS REVEALING THAT JEEP KNOWS THIS PART TO BE FAULTY AND/OR OF INADEQUATE DESIGN. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY (PARKED) WHEN THIS HAPPENED, BUT ONLY TOOK NOTE OF A POTENTIAL PROBLEM WHEN I NOTICED AN OIL SPOT WHERE I ALWAYS PARK AT MY OFFICE, AND AT HOME. NO VEHICLES I OWN HAVE EVER LEFT AN OIL SPOT BEFORE THIS.
JEEP WRANGLER EFFECTED. 2014 WITH 17000 MILES THE OIL FILTER/OIL COOLER HOUSING FAILED AND LEAKED 3QTS OF OIL IN LESS THEN 24HOURS. THE OIL WAS CHANGED 5 MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS PROBLEM AND THE DEALER CLAIMED THE OIL FILTER WAS PUT ON TO TIGHT WHICH CAUSED CRACKS IN THE HOUSING AND WOULD NOT COMPLETE THE WORK UNDER WARRENTY. AFTER THE REPAIR I REQUESTED TO KEEP THE PART THAT WAS TAKEN OUT. AFTER CLOSE EXAMINATION AND USING COMPRESSED AIR TO SEE IF I COULD FIND A CRACK THERE WAS CRACK TO BE FOUND. ONLY THING I COULD SEE THAT COULD CAUSE A LEAK WAS A MISSING GASKET ON BOTTON OF HOUSE.
JEEP WRANGLER STEERING COLUMN ELECTRICAL ISSUES, POSSIBLY RELATED TO TIPM ISSUES WITH OTHER JEEP/CHRYLSER/DODGE VEHICLES. ISSUE OCCURRED WHEN STARTING VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT AT NIGHT. JEEP LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN ON EVEN THOUGH LIGHTS WERE IN THE ON POSITION FROM THE STEERING COLUMN LEFT STEM FOR LIGHTS. REPEATED ON/OFF ATTEMPTS, INCLUDING VEHICLE RESTARTS, DID NOT FIX NO LIGHTS ISSUE. WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS ROTATED THE LIGHTS SUDDENLY TURNED ON. OTHER RELATED ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT WINDSHIELD WIPER CYCLE WHEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE IN THE OFF POSITION ON THE RIGHT STEM OF THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN.
MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH LIGHTS NOT WORKING, HORN NOT WORKING, WIPERS NOT WORKING OR NOT CUTTING OFF, CLOCK SPRING REPAIR, (ANY AND ALL STEERING COLUMN CONTROLS FAILING)
MY COOLANT STARTED LEAKING AND MY THREE YEAR OLD JEEP NEEDED A NEW RADIATOR. THE GARBAGE LIMITED WARRANTY FROM CHRYSLER PRODUCTS OF COURSE WOULD NOT COVER.
RANDOMLY THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND SHUT OFF THE SAME DAY. THE NEXT DAY IT CAME BACK ON AND WON'T GO OFF. THIS IS NEW. THE RADIO SKIPS EVERY COUPLE OF SECONDS AND INTERRUPTS ALL SOUND MAKING A POPPING NOISE FROM EVERY SPEAKER. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM USING THE AUXILIARY SATELLITE AM FM OR EVEN DO YOU CONNECT DEVICE. USUALLY IF IT IS THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE IS STARTED THAT DAY THE RADIO WORKS FINE ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE UNTIL IT IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR IT STOPPED FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND STARTED UP AGAIN.
LEFT HAND SIDE TOGGLE ( THAT SWITCHES TURN SIGNALS ON AND OFF) CAUSES LCD DISPLAY TO GLITCH OUT WHEN THE HEAD LIGHT CONTROL IS TURNED ALL THE WAY UP. FRIED MY LCD, REPLACEMENT $6000, NOW I NEED TO REPLACE HE TOGGLE , $375. ONLY GLITCHES ON ONE PARTICULAR SETTING.
"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS IN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT ON THE 23RD OF MAY, A FRONT END COLLISION AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THE SHOULDER/SEAT BELT KEPT ME FROM MAJOR INJURY.
ARRIVED HOME IN VEHICLE AND HAD A STRONG ODOR OF BURNING OIL. IMMEDIATELY SAW A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE VEHICLE AND OIL ON THE EXHAUST WAS SMOKING. THE OIL FILTER/COOLER HOUSING HAD BEGUN LEAKING. THIS VEHICLE HAS 44,000 MILES ON IT AND NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PART FAILURE AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS IT. THE AMOUNT OF OIL IT LOST IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME WAS ENOUGH TO CAUSE A FIRE. THERE WAS OVER 1/2 INCH OF OIL IN THE VALLEY BETWEEN THE HEADS AND OIL HAD BLOWN FROM THE MOTOR TO THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. THIS PART IS CONVENIENTLY NOT COVERED UNDER THE 5 YR 100,000 MILE ENGINE WARRANTY AND THE DEALER SAID THE PART HAS NOT BEEN UPGRADED.
WHEN CAR WAS 3 MONTHS OLD, I WAS PUTTING GEAR SHIFT INTO PARK AND IT POP BACK OUT AND I ALMOST WAS RAN OVER BY VEHICLE. LUCKILY, HAVE OF MY BODY WAS STILL IN CAR BUT IT HAPPENED SO FAST THAT I WAS PARKED NEXT TO A BRICK WALL AND IT HIT EXACTLY WHEN I PUT FOOT ON BRAKE. I DO HAVE REPAIR FORMS FROM RON LEWIS JEEP AND INSURANCE REPORT. SINCE THEN I HAD TWO MINOR PAINT PEEL ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY LOOSE AND SPUN EXCESSIVELY AS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A BOLT FELL OUT OF THE STEERING SHAFT. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE SPECIFIC BOLT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NO FURTHER ACTION WAS NEEDED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,500.
ON THE 2014 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE JK JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING.
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED 2014 , THIS WEEK THE ETC (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL) AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT TURN ON AND I LOST ENGINE POWER, IT JUST RAN IDLE. IT CAN NOT GO MORE THAN 2000 RPM. I TURN IT OFF AND ON AND IT WAS EVERYTHING OK. ALSO THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR LIGHT IS STILL ON ALL THE TIME. THE TIRE PRESSURE STILL IN 35 PSI.
MY 2014 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED IS CURRENTLY BEING SERVICED FOR A CRACKED OIL COOLER. THE OIL LEAK WAS FIRST NOTICED WHILE PARKED IN MY GARAGE. I HAD TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A CRACKED OIL COOLER. I WAS ALSO TOLD I WAS LUCKY THERE WAS NO FIRE CAUSED AS THERE WAS SO MUCH OIL. I WAS TOLD IT SHOULD STILL BE UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE IS GETTING ITS NORMAL SERVICES NOW AND WILL BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER TOMORROW. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE FOR THE 2014 JEEP WRANGLER.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL STARTED PUMPING LIKE THE ABS SYSTEM KICKED IN. THE BRAKES WORKED AS EXPECTED MINUTES LATER (AFTER REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME).

MY JEEP IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE PAW RECALL REFERS TO, THE PROBLEM IS THAT MY VINE. # IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL, WHEN IN FACT IT SHOULD BE. THE TAPING LIGHT CAME ON WHEN ONE TIRE DROPPED TO 33 BECAUSE THE THRESHOLD WAS PROGRAMMED INCORRECTLY AT THE FACTORY. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SET LOWER, PROBABLY AROUND 30 ? I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP. ABOUT THIS, BUT THEY WERE OF NO HELP. IS THERE ANY WAY THAT THE RANGE OF VINE. NUMBERS OF AFFECTED JEEPS COULD BE RE-EVALUATED, AS THIS IS CLEARLY AFFECTING MY JEEP? RANDOMLY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES WOULD GO CRAZY, THE "IDIOT" LIGHTS WOULD COME ON, AND IF THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ON, THAT WILL DISENGAGE. I'VE HAD OTHER INCIDENTS WHERE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT HAVE ANY POWER WHEN THE KEY WAS ENGAGED, UNTIL 4 DIFFERENT TIMES OF TRYING IT. ALSO WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE, THE STARTER WOULD CONTINUE TO CRANK EVEN WITH THE KEY DISENGAGED.
OIL LEAK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE STATIONARY, THE CONTACT SMELLED BURNING OIL AND NOTICED THAT OIL HAD LEAKED ONTO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
NOTICED POOL OF OIL UNDER MY JEEP AND UPON CLOSER INSPECTION OBSERVED OIL DRIPPING FROM BACK SIDE OF ENGINE ONTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. IT APPEARS THE LEAK IS COMING FROM THE OIL FILTER HOUSING, AS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON FAILURE ON THIS MODEL. UPON CONTACTING THE DEALER ABOUT THE PART, I WAS TOLD THERE IS A NATION-WIDE BACKORDER OF ABOUT 10,000 PARTS.
ON 2/20/17 WE BROUGHT OUR JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA UNLIMITED TO JEEP DEALER IN DELRAY BEACH FLORIDA SCHUMACHER BECAUSE WE FOUND RUST ON THE FRONT AND PASSENGER SEAT FRAME HINGES. THE SEAT HINGES HAVE BARE STEEL SHOWING SIGNS OF RUST WHICH COULD BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY DEFECT . THE VEHICLE IS STILL WITHIN 3 YEAR WARRANTY. SERVICE CALLED JEEP AREA MANAGER (FIAT CHRYSLER) JOSE? WHO SAID REPAIRS ARE NOT COVERED. WE SPOKE TO A PERSON NAMED JOY ON THE PHONE AT FIAT CHRYSLER WHO SAID THAT FIAT CHRYSLER JEEP STAND BEHIND THEIR AREA MANAGER. WE ASKED TO HAVE A COPY OF THE AREA MANAGER REPORT SENT TO US, SHE SAID THEY WON'T SEND IT TO US. BASED ON THE ATTACHED PICTURES, WE CANNOT TELL WHERE THIS IS A COSMETIC PROBLEM OR IF THE RUST WILL EAT THROUGH THE METAL AND CAUSE STRUCTURAL DETERIORATION WHICH COULD BE HAZARDOUS IN A COLLISION. WE WOULD LIKE YOU INVESTIGATE FOR POSSIBLE SAFETY HAZARD
TRANSFER CASE REAR MAIN SEAL LEAK AS DIAGNOSED BY TWO DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERSHIPS (JEEP OF HOLLYWOOD AND MASSEY YARDLEY JEEP). I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN TWICE FOR REPAIR AND THE LEAK CONTINUES (02/24/2017 [HOLLYWOOD JEEP] AND 03/08/2017 [MASSEY YARDLEY]). THE CAR IS IN FOR REEVALUATION AND REPAIR AS I AM WRITING THIS MAKING IT THE THIRD TIME IN THREE WEEKS THE CAR IS BEING REPAIRED FOR THE SAME ISSUE (03/17/2017 [MASSEY YARDLEY]). THIS INVOLVES THE MOTOR OIL IN THE VEHICLE AND LEAKS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IDLE OR BEING DRIVEN. ONCE THE WRANGLER IS DRIVEN THE THE OIL HEATS UP, AND THINS OUT, CAUSING THE OIL TO LEAK IN LARGER AMOUNTS AND FASTER. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE LEAKING OIL CAN START AN ENGINE FIRE OR TOO MUCH OIL LOST CAN CAUSE AN ENGINE TO BE DAMAGED OR EVEN SEIZE. JEEP CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS ISSUE AND THEIR "CASE MANAGEMENT" TEAM HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN ATTEMPTING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, HOWEVER, TO-DATE ALL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS INDICATE THERE IS NO RECALL OR INVESTIGATION INTO THESE ISSUES. AS AN ASIDE, THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER (PER CARFAX REPORT), FOR TRANSFER CASE RELATED ISSUES 11/18/2015. I IMPLORE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AS THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE.
PURCHASED JEEP WRANGLER AS NEW FROM DEALER WITH 103 MILES ON IT. AT 36072 OIL WAS LEAKING ALL OVER THE TOP OF ENGINE AND DOWN THE TRANSMISSION. DEALERSHIP REPLACED OIL FILTER HOUSING/OIL COOLER. AFTER REPLACEMENT I LOOKED UP PART NUMBER USED AND IT WAS AN EARLIER REVISION THAN WHAT SHOULD HAVE USED. JEEP WAS REPAIRED ON 2/10/17, ON 2/18/17 JEEP WAS AGAIN LEAKING OIL FROM TOP OF ENGINE.
ENGINE OIL COOLER HOUSING CRACKING AND LEAKING OIL. I HAVE HAD IT IN TWICE IN 3 MONTHS TO HAVE THE HOUSING REPLACED. I KNOW OF OTHERS WITH THIS YEAR, 2014, JEEP WRANGLER THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. YOU CAN SMELL THE OIL ON THE EXHAUST AND SEE THE OIL DRIPPING UNDER THE VEHICLE. I HAVE THE DEALER REPAIR ORDERS AND PARTS REPLACED AND THEY ARE THE SAME BOTH TIMES. NOW, WORRIED IT WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN EVEN AFTER MY WARRANTY RUNS OUT AND WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. JEEP SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY AS LONG AS I OWN IT OR PERMANENTLY FIX THE COOLER PROBLEM ON THESE MODELS.

THE OIL COOLER UNDER THE INTAKE, THE JEEP HAS 68K MILES ON IT, NEEDS A THIRD OIL COOLER, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO COVER THEM UNDER WARRANTY, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE THE FIRST YEAR I BOUGHT THE JEEP BRAND NEW. EVERY TIME THEY CRACK, OUT OF THE BLUE, NO WARNING, THE DRIVER IS STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH SIX QUARTS OF OIL ALL OVER THE MOTOR, TRANS, EXHAUST AND GROUND.
MY JEEP HAS LESS THAN 21,000 MILES ON IT. I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A COOLANT LEAK. THEY HAVEN'T FOUND THE COOLANT LEAK BUT THEY DID FIND AN OIL LEAK FROM THE OIL COOLER. THIS IS THE SECOND OIL LEAK FROM THE OIL COOLER. PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER, I WAS TOLD THIS IS A FREQUENT AND COMMON PROBLEM. THEY HAVE NOT FOUND THE SOURCE OF MY COOLANT LEAK. THIS CAR IS GENTLY DRIVEN BY MY WIFE AND IS UNMODIFIED IN ANY WAY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS EVIDENCE OF AN OIL LEAK EMITTING FROM THE OIL FILLER ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE FLANGE BOLT BROKE IN MY STEERING COLUMN WHILE CHANGING TO THE LEFT LANE. THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED FREELY AND WAS DISCONNECTED TO THE FRONT TIRES. DAMAGE WAS ALSO DONE TO THE CLOCK SPRING AND IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY I COULD HAVE INJURED MYSELF AND OTHERS!
OIL FILTER ADAPTER, OIL COOLER, NOT SURE ON CORRECT TERMINOLOGY. PART NUMBER 68105583AA TO BE SPECIFIC. JUST GOT NORMAL MAINTENANCE AND MULTI POINT INSPECTION DONE AND 2 DAYS, 128 MILES LATER SMOKE STARTED GUSHING OUT FROM UNDER MY VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING TO GET LUNCH, GOT OUT AND SURE ENOUGH OIL WAS PROFUSELY LEAKING OUT OF THE BOTTOM. DROVE HOME IMMEDIATELY AND PARKED IT. HAD TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY TO TRY AND DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. STARTED HER UP AND WITHIN 5 MINUTES HAD A PUDDLE THE SIZE OF A TIRE UNDERNEATH OF OIL. MANAGED TO GET HER TO THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT ISSUE, BUT MY SYSTEM WAS TELLING ME I HAD 0% PILLS LIKE REMAINING. OIL HAD BEEN LEAKING OUT FROM ON TOP OF THE ENGINE WORRYING ME OF A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD BUT I MANAGED TO GET IT TO THE SHOP. APPARENTLY THIS PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2014 MODELS SPECIFICALLY ALL CHRYSLER MADE VEHICLES WITH THIS ENGINE. $500 FIX IS NOT FUN WHEN IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE BY THE COMPANY WHO ON 2015 MODELS FIXED IT AND NEVER ADDRESSED OR WARNED 2014 MODEL OWNERS. *TR
I PURCHASED A PRE OWNED CERTIFIED JEEP WRANGLER FROM TUTTLE CLICK IN TUSTIN CA AND THE SAME DAY I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT IT HAD BRAKE ISSUES. I HAD TO COME BACK TWICE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM TO LOOK AT IT AND IT TURNED OUT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. I STILL HEAR NOISE FROM THE BRAKES.

BRAKE ISSUES THE DAY I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT ON JAN 6TH 2017. I TOOK IT TO TUTTLE CLICK WHO I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY DIDN'T INSPECT THE VEHICLE I TOOK IT BACK AGAIN AND THEY INSPECTED IT AND FOUND THE BRAKE BOOSTER DAMAGED WHICH THEY ADVISED THEY REPAIRED. I AM STILL HAVING ISSUES ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL ISSUES AND AM CONCERNED. THIS IS A VEHICLE I PURCHASED FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD. PLEASE HELP THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPAIR OR SERVICE THE VEHICLE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE FRONT SWAY BAR CAME OUT OF THE ELECTRONIC SWAY BAR DISCONNECT HOUSING WHICH DISCONNECTED THE SWAY BAR UNKNOWINGLY AND UNINTENTIONALLY, CAUSING AN EXTREMELY UNSTABLE DRIVING CONDITION. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF THE OCCURRENCE AS FAR AS WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH. THE ONLY WAY IT WAS DISCOVERED WAS BECAUSE I ASSUMED THE SPRINGS OR SHOCKS WERE WORN OUT TO CAUSE THE CONDITION. WHILE REPLACING THE FRONT SHOCKS, I NOTICED THE SWAY BAR WAS PULLED OUT OF THE HOUSING. WE HAD NUMEROUS CLOSE CALLS ON THE FREEWAY WITH NEAR ROLL OVERS DUE TO THIS CONDITION. THE MANUAL STATES YOU SHOULD NEVER EXCEED SPEEDS OF 18 MPH WHEN SWAY BAR IS DISCONNECTED. HOWEVER, WE HAD BEEN ON NUMEROUS TRIPS TRAVELLING ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS OF 80 MPH. I CONTACTED JEEP REPEATEDLY AND WAS JUST TOLD IT WAS A "NON-SERVICABLE" PART, AND TO REPLACE IT, AT AN APPROXIMATE COST OF OVER $2000.00
MY 2014 JEEP WRANGLER HAD THE OIL FILTER HOUSING FAIL AT 52000 MILES. IT LEAKED ENOUGH OIL WAS DRIPPING DOWN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE ONTO THE TRANSMISSION AND ON TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. IT DRIPPED WHETHER PARKED OF IN MOTION.

HAVE OIL SLICK UNDERNEATH VEHICLE WHEN CAME OUT THAT AFTERNOON. WENT DIRECTLY BACK TO DEALERSHIP, AND THEY ADVISED THAT THEY HAD DONE NOTHING WRONG , BUT WAS A BAD OIL FILTER ADAPTER. I SEE A LOT OF THEM APPEAR TO FAIL, BUT THE TIMING IS SUSPECT. HAS THE REPLACEMENT PART BEEN UPGRADED TO PREVENT FUTURE FAILURES?

ON 12/04/2016 I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT AROUND 80MPH WHEN A LOAD EXPLOSION STOPPED MY ENGINE. I IMMEDIATE STOPPED AS SMOKE STARTED TO COME INSIDE THE CABIN. AS SOON AS I EXITED THE VEHICLE I NOTICED A BIG FIRE UNDER THE CAR AND INSURE THE HOOD. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT USING 3 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS. THIS REALLY COULD'VE ESCALATED QUICKLY. I NOTICED A BIG HOLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE. LOOKS LIKE IT THREW A ROD SINCE THE OIL PRESSURE WAS LOW. PROBABLY DUE TO FAULTY OIL FILTER MOUNT. THE EXACT REASON FOR THE ENGINE FAILURE AND SUBSEQUENT FIRE HASN'T BEEN DETERMINED YET AS THE DEALER WILL OT LOOK AT IT UNTIL CHRYSLER SENDS AN INVESTIGATOR TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. CHRYSLER WILL NOT SEND AN INVESTIGATOR AND IS ASKING FOR THE DEALER TO LOOK AT IT. IT'S BEEN OVER 10 DAYS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. SO FAR, NEITHER PARTY HAS TAKEN THE ISSUE SERIOUSLY. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS UNDER 20,000 MILES ON IT. HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, OR BEEN OFF-ROAD OR RAN OVER OR HIT ANYTHING OTHER THAN DIPS AND BUMPS THAT MY TOYOTA YARIUS AND HONDA FIT HAVE RAN OVER WITH NO PROBLEMS. THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAS WORN OUT TWICE AND CHRYSLER SAYS IT IS BECAUSE I DID NOT ROTATE TIRES EVERY 5,000 MILES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES AND I WAS NEVER INFORMED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM EITHER DURING SERVICE OR WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A FLAW THAT CHRYSLER IS PRETENDING DOES NOT EXIST.
