I NOTICED A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL WHEN MOVING VEHICLE FROM PARKED POSITION. THERE WAS NO INDICATOR ON VEHICLE THAT IT WAS LOW ON OIL. WHEN CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL IN THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NONE SHOWING ON THE DIP STICK. ALL OIL HAD LEAKED OUT OF VEHICLE. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR/MAKE/MODEL. IT WAS THE OIL FILTER HOUSING DEFECTIVE RELEASING ALL OIL FROM VEHICLE. THIS PART IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND NOT EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR 45 OR MORE DAYS. THIS TELLS ME THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURING OF THE VEHICLE. WHAT IF I HAD NOT NOTICED THE OIL THAT HAD LEAKED OUT AND MY THE ENGINE LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY.
2014 JEEP WRANGLER OIL LEAK NOTICED OIL ON CARPORT CHECKED LOW ON OIL ITS AN OIL COOLANT HOUSING CRACK HAVE CALLED FOR A MONTH AND A HALF CANNOT GET PART ITS ON BACK ORDER WHICH IS NOW UP TO 60,000 WAS TOLD TIGHTEN BOLT AND KEEP CHECKING OIL I MAY BE A FEMALE BUT IT'S NOT GONNA KEEP BEING JUST A CRACK WILL END UP TEARING MY JEEP UP OR CAUSE ACCIDENT ITS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION WAS TOLD BY GUY AT DEALERSHIP ITS MADE TO GO OUT WHEN WARRANTY EXPIRES IT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THE PART SINCE IT CAN CAUSE MORE DAMAGE
OIL COOLING HOUSE IS CRACKED, DUE TO EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER IN OKLAHOMA. OIL IS LEAKING AND THERE IS A BURNING SMELL WHEN DRIVING. AT THIS POINT IN TIME, THIS OEM PART IS ON BACK ORDER, CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE WITH DRIVING. THE CHANCE OF AN ENGINE FIRE / BLOWN ENGINE DUE TO LOW OIL. BEING A JEEP OWNER THIS BACK ORDER IS UNACCEPTABLE. AT THIS TIME, I HAVE AN ESTIMATE FOR $1600.00 IN REPAIRS TO FIX THIS ISSUE WITH A JEEP DEALER IN TOWN
OIL FILTER COOLER ADAPTER FAILED AT 55K MILES. JEEP LEAKED QUART OF OIL ON GROUND AND ANOTHER QUART IN INTAKE. IF JEEP WAS RUN ANOTHER 30 MIN THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE DESTROYED ITSELF DUE TO LACK OF OIL. COULD HAVE ASLO CAUSED FIRE IF OIL GOT ON HOT EXAHUST. VERY COMMON PROBLEM W PENSTAR 3.6. NO PARTS AVAILABLE IN USA AS OF 03-01-2021 MFR. REFUSES TO WARRANTY. CLAIMS OIL FILTER WAS TOO TIGHT, WHICH WAS NOT.
OIL COOLER AND FILTER HOUSING OIL LEAK. OIL BURNING SMELL FROM UNDERNEATH. POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. NUISANCE LEAK. AS WITH OTHERS, THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER. HAVE BEEN WITHOUT THE VEHICLE FOR OVER A WEEK.
My Jeep Wrangler was having significant engine issues with shaking, random noises and vibrations, and it turns out the Engine Oil Cooler had a crack in it and leaked oil all over the intake manifold/under carriage of the vehicle. Upon speaking with over 15 dealerships in Southern California, they noted that there were over 40,000 of this replacement part on back-order as of March 2020. I had to wait two months to get the part delivered, which meant I went two months without a vehicle, and then had to pay over $800+ on a part + labor on an item that should absolutely be recalled. There are thousands of posts on Wrangler Forum and other Jeep pages that share the exact same issue. Jeep has ignored this issue since 2014, and it's only occurring in more vehicles now. This part breaking can cause engine seizure or failure and should not be a cost to the customer as there is CLEARLY a nation-wide problem that Chrysler is ignoring.
THE IGNITION APPEARED TO GO OUT ON OUR 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THERE WAS NO SOUND. IT DID NOT TRY TO CRANK. ALL OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS LIKE HEADLIGHTS, RADIO, ETC STILL WORKED. I TOOK IT TO AUTO NATION JEEP IN ROSEVILLE AND THEY SAID THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT $1400. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THEIR VEHICLE THEY NOTICED A STRONG ODOR OF BURNING OIL COMING INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PARKED THEIR VEHICLE WHEN THEY GOT TO THEIR RESIDENCE AND NOTICED A LARGE OIL LEAK COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER COUNTRY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2705 N MICHIGAN ST, PLYMOUTH, IN 46563) WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS A CRACK OIL HOUSING WHICH CAUSED THE OIL LEAK FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE DEALER STATED THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WAS ON BACK ORDER AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE IT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
RADIATOR ON THESE MODELS START LEAKING PREMATURELY. THERE ARE MANY DOCUMENTED CASES ON ONLINE FORUMS WITH RADIATORS GOING OUT OR LEAKING WITH ONLY A FEW THOUSAND MILES AND BEING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, SOME DEALERS WOULD ARGUE THAT THE COOLANT SMELL IS NORMAL, IN ORDER TO PUSH THE REPAIR FURTHER OUT. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 46K MILES AND HAS A LEAK ON THE DRIVER SIDE PORTION OF THE RADIATOR WHERE THE ALUMINUM PART OF THE RADIATOR MEETS WITH THE PLASTIC PART OF THE RADIATOR. THE LEAK IS VERY SLOW AND MOST PEOPLE MIGHT NOT REALIZE IT (THIS IS WHAT MAKES IT EVEN MORE DANGEROUS!!) OTHER THAN FOR THE COOLANT SMELL NEAR THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR LIKE THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS ITS HIGHLY PROBABLE TO BLOW AT ANYTIME GIVEN HOW MUCH PRESSURE IS IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. THIS WOULD BE DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY IF IT WERE TO GO OUT ON THE FREEWAY, OR OUT IN A REMOTE AREA, OR EVEN FOR SOMEONE WORKING IN THE ENGINE BAY OR UNDER THE CAR. JEEP KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM, BUT IF YOU'RE OUT OF WARRANTY THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, EVEN IF IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME IT'S HAPPENED.
OIL FILTER HOUSING IS CRACKED. UPON TALKING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THIS IS A KNOWN AND FREQUENT ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SEEMED AS IF IT WAS GOING TO OVERHEAT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD CRACKED OIL ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,932.
2014 JEEP JK WRANGLER. OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACK. OIL LEAKING EVERYWHERE UNDER THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS SMOKING. THIS CAN CAUSE A FIRE HAZARD. LOOKS LIKE FOR YEARS THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. THIS FIX IS ALMOST 1000.00 DOLLARS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT YOU HAVE SO MANY COMPLAINTS AND THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE THAT THE COMPANY IS NOT WILLING TO FIX THIS. I WILL BE CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY IF THIS IS NOT RESOLVED BY THE MANUFACTURER.

THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HER RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THE SAME BYSTANDER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THE OIL FILTER HOUSING UNIT NEEDING TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED LOCAL DEALER JIM FALK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (195 S PUUNENE AVE, KAHULUI, HI 96732: (808) 893-7760) AND WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.

UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT DETERMINED THAT THE OIL HAD LEAKED FROM THE ENGINE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER BARNETT CHRYSLER AND JEEP LOCATED AT 3430 HWY 61 N, WHITE BEAR LAKE, MN 55110 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE BOTH NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,500.
MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE GOT THE MACHINE ATTACHED THE CODE READ PO520 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT. WHEN WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY ANY LONGER AND WOULDN'T REPAIR. WHILE I RESEARCHED WE FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT WAS ISSUED PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. THE OIL SENSOR SHOULD HAVE AND COULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRING IF THE DEALERSHIPS WERE MANDATED TO NOTIFY AND FIX ALL REPAIRS RELATED TO DEFECTIVE PARTS. DURING MY RESEARCH WE FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS A RECALL IN EXTENDED WARRANTY STATUS. REGARDLESS IF WE GOT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SELL A USED VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG OR A RECALL. IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL FOR ME NOT TO GET IT FIXED OR MY REGISTRATION CAN BE REVOKED. I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS COST TO REPAIR EITHER OF THESE ITEMS. I AM JUST ASKING YOU TO PLEASE TAKE THESE ISSUES SERIOUSLY AND TO HAVE BOTH THESE PARTS REPLACED. IF THIS WASN'T BAD ENOUGH, THIS TIME OF YEAR, COVID AND MY CURRENT FINANCIAL SITUATION IT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME. PLEASE HELP ME.

VEHICLE STALLS WHEN STARTED, BRAKE DEPRESSED AND SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. WILL OCCUR SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW, UNLESS BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED AS SOON AS VEHICLE IS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. WHEN BRAKE IS RELEASED, VEHICLE ACCELERATES UNUSUALLY FAST, IN REVERSE, WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. PROBLEM IS MORE PROMINENT IN COLDER WEATHER (BELOW 40F).

DEFECTIVE BEARING IN ROCKER ARM LEADING TO ENGINE FAILURE. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE ON THESE VEHICLES. WHEN ENGINE FAILURE OCCURS, THERE IS LOSS OF POWER STEERING, PROPULSION, AND DIFFICULT BRAKING.
LEAKING OIL FILTER HOUSING. OIL IN DRIVEWAY AFTER SITTING FROM EVEN A SHORT TRIP.
THE OIL COOLER/OIL FILTER ADAPTOR FAILED. THIS PART IS PLASTIC AND SITS ON TOP OF THE ENGINE....! SINCE 2014 THIS PART HAS FAILED IN MANY FCA VEHICLES AND WHEN IT DOES IT LEAKS OIL AND COOLANT ON TOP OF A RUNNING/HOT ENGINE! IN MY CASE IT FAILED AND CAUSED A LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE WHICH THEN DAMAGED THE CAM SHAFTS AND O2 SENSOR. LUCKILY IT WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY BUT WHEN THAT RUNS OUT IT'S NOT ONLY A SAFETY ISSUE BUT A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR FOR A FAILING PLASTIC PART THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BY NOW! THE COMPANY SHOULD AT A MINIMUM EXTEND THE WARRANTY FOR THAT PART ON EVERY ENGINE IT HAS BEEN USED IN.
2014 JEEP WRANGLER WITH 43,000 MILES SEVERE OIL LEAK FROM OIL FILTER HOUSING. OIL WENT FROM SMALL DRIP TO SEVERE LEAK WITH OIL COATING CROSS MEMBER AND EXHAUST PIPE WITHIN WEEKS. OIL DRIPPING AND COATING THE HOT EXHAUST IS A FIRE HAZZARD AND YOU CAN SMELL THE BURNING OIL AT EVERY STOP LIGHT. $1000 REPAIR AT THE DEALER.
The vehicle will unexpectedly not be able to shift gears up or down suddenly due to a switch sensor located in the transmission transfer case that malfunctions due to corrosion due to lack of protection on the wiring which is exposed to the elements. I noticed this happening a few times before I had a chance to take it into the dealer repair shop. When I was on my way home from work commuting through evening rush hour, I was driving at normal residential street speeds and as traffic sped up my car did not shift gears but rather kept revving higher. I was driving along with traffic and noticed as we were slowing down it didn't downshift either. I was able to pull over and inspected the vehicle but didn't notice any wrong. I had to drive home with my hazards and at a set speed as much as possible. It was not a safe situation nor would it be good for the engine had it got pushed harder.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT AND AUDIBLE TONE COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY GOES AND COMES WHILE DRIVING AND OR IDLING. PASSENGER SIDE INFLATOR WAS REPLACED WITH RECALL. RESEARCHING THIS WARNING MANY 2014 JK'S ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. RESEARCH POINTS DIRECTLY TO THE CLOCK SPRING. FCA USA SHOULD REPLACE THE PART AS A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR RHD JK'S AND MANY LHD JK'S ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.
THE BACK SEAT BELT WRAPPED AROUND MY DAUGHTERS NECK AND THE LOCK MECHANISM WOULD NOT RELEASE AND EVERY TIME SHE PULLED ON IT THE BELT GOT TIGHTER UNTIL THE POINT SHE FAINTED AND COULD HAVE DIED HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR A PASSERBY CARRYING AN ARMY KNIFE, ALLOWING US TO CUT THE BELT THEREBY FREEING HER. I ONLY HAVE 56,000 MILES ON MY 2014 JEEP RUBICON UNLIMITED AND THE MOTOR IS ALREADY MAKING A TICKING NOISE.. NOT ONLY DO I CHANGE MY OIL AT THE RECOMMENDED MILEAGE I ALSO BUY THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND THE BEST OIL SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS.
ENGINE OIL LEAK (FIRE HAZARD). THE ENGINE OIL FILTER HOUSING (PART NUMBER 68105583AA) IS WIDELY REPORTED TO FAULTY BY OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE YEAR (2014). THIS PART CRACKS UNDER ROUTINE DRIVING AND LEAKS ENGINE OIL ONTO HOT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SUCH AS THE EXHAUST CROSS OVER AND TRANSMISSION, WHERE THE OIL BURNS AND CREATES A FIRE HAZARD. MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS HAVE NOTICED THIS SMOKE BEFORE IT IGNITED. HOWEVER OTHERS HAVE REPORTED A FIRE. THE OIL LEAK GENERALLY OCCURS WHEN THE ENGINE HAS COME UP TO TEMPERATURE AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION LONG ENOUGH TO REACH NORMAL OPERATING OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE. THE PROBLEM OCCURS IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, REGARDLESS OF ROAD CONDITIONS. THE LEAK IS NOT IMMEDIATELY DETECTED BY A LOW OIL PRESSURE, HIGH TEMPERATURE, OR OTHER SIMILAR WARNING, FURTHER INCREASING THE FIRE RISK. FURTHER, THE LEAKING OIL POSSES AN ENVIRONMENTAL DANGER AND IS HAZARDOUS. PRIOR MODEL YEARS HAD A DIFFERENT, METAL PART WHICH DOES NOT CRACK AND LEAK UNDER ROUTINE USE. IT IS BELIEVED WHEN THIS PART WAS REPLACED WITH A PLASTIC COMPONENT IN 2014+ MODELS, THE NEW, PLASTIC PART WAS DEFECTIVE OR INSUFFICIENT FOR ITS HIGH TEMPERATURE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT INSIDE THE ENGINE. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER (FCA). ATTACHED PHOTO SHOWS: OIL (LIGHT BROWN) POOLING BENEATH LEAKING OIL FILTER HOUSING (FOREGROUND) ON THE ENGINE BLOCK ITSELF.

MY 2014 JEEP WRANGLER JKU HAS 86737 MILES AND DEVELOPED AN OIL LEAK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS/REPAIR, AND WAS TOLD "MASSIVE LEAK FROM OIL COOLER HAS SATURATED ENGINE BLOCK VALLEY AND SPILLING OVER ON TO TRANSMISSION AND UNDER BODY". AS STATED FROM THE DEALER, THE OIL LEAK DOES NOT DRAIN FROM THE ENGINE, BUT POOLS IN THE ENGINE BLOCK VALLEY UNTIL IT FILLS AND THEN RUNS OVER THE REST OF THE TRANSMISSION/ENGINE. THIS CREATES A FIRE HAZARD.. AS STATED FROM THE DEALER, THE OIL FILTER/COOLER ASSEMBLY (MOPAR PART # 05184294AE) IS LOCATED IN THE ENGINE BLOCK VALLEY, SO IT IS VERY PROTECTED FROM EXTERNAL DAMAGE. THE SEALS JUST LEAK. THIS DEFECT COST OVER $1000 TO REPAIR. FROM THE NUMBER OF OTHER OCCURRENCES I HAVE READ ABOUT, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE.
2014 JEEP WRANGLER PENTASTAR OIL COOLER LEAKS WHICH POURS ONTO EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND STARTS ON FIRE. HAPPENED TO ME COMING HOME FROM WORK. LUCKILY I WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY AND I PUT IT OUT WITH MY EXTINGUISHER. OIL EVERYWHERE LEAKING DOWN ENGINE AND ON THE UNDER CARRIAGE. CAUGHT IT IN TIME AND NOTHING ELSE WAS EFFECTED. GOOD THING I WASN'T ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY WHOLE FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE. FCA US LLC SHOULD FIX THIS ISSUE. VERY SCARY ESPECIALLY WHEN UNEXPECTED. PLEASE FCA US LLC FIX THIS ISSUE SO IT NO LONGER HAPPENS TO OTHER FAMILIES. CAUSE IT SURE LOOKS LIKE IT'S A PROBLEM.
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE CHRYSLER RECALL THE 3.6L V6 FOR THEIR OIL FILTER COOLER BASE BREAKING. I'M LUCKY MY VEHICLE DIDN'T CATCH FIRE WITH ALL THE HOT OIL RUNNING DOWN OVER THE ENGINE. THOUSANDS OF THESE MOTORS ARE IN THEIR PRODUCTS. AND ALL COST $1355 TO REPAIR. MINE WAS ONLY SERVICED AT THE DEALER, NO ONE ELSE. IT IS A WELL KNOWN DEFECT AND CHRYSLER IS STILL STICKING IT TO CUSTOMERS FOR REPAIRS. SURPRISED NO ONE HAS DIED IN A CAR FIRE.
VEHICLE ONLY HAS ABOUT 66K MILES AND AFTER A NEW OIL CHANGE, I COULD HEAR A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE BAY. AFTER TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC AND RESEARCHING FOR SIMILAR ISSUES FROM OTHER JEEP OWNERS. IT SEEMS THE 3.6L PENTASTAR ENGINE IS NOTORIOUS FOR HAVING A CAMSHAFT OR LIFTER GO BAD
CLOCK SPRING- AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE WEB, THEIR ARE MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS COMPLAIN AND WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. MY STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS DO NOT FUNCTION, ALONG WITH THE HORN. NOT HAVING THE HORN FUNCTIONING IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I HAD AN INCIDENT WHERE I COULD HAVE DIED, SIMPLY BECAUSE OF MY UNFUNCTION CLOCK SPRING. A SEMI TRUCK WAS BACKING UP, NOT REALIZING I WAS BEHIND AND I COULD NOT USED MY HORN TO HUNK. IF IT WASN'T FOR ANOTHER DRIVER BY MY SIDE, THE SEMI TRUCK WOULD HAVE CRASHED ME. PLEASE WE NEED THIS TO BE A RECALL. THANKS
TOOK IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND THEY FOUND A LEAK IN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DRIPPING DOWN AFTER THE OIL CHANGE. COULD NOT FIND WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD AND LOST POWER LIKE IT DROPPED INTO NEUTRAL. PULL OVER TO SIDE OF THE ROAD AND BY TIME I STOPPED HAD SMOKE COMING INTO THE CAB. GOT OUT AND SAW FLAMES IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CALLED POLICE AND FIRE BUT VEHICLE WAS TOTAL LOSS.*DT CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE NO ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND NO ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. FLAMES WERE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE.*JB
MY JEEP STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. WOULD NOT START IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING EACH EVENT. LOSS OF BRAKES AND POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED CREATED SAFETY HAZARD TO ME AND SURROUNDING DRIVERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOVE PREOWNED AUTOCENTER (4401 S PADRE ISLAND DR, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX 78411), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A NEW COMPUTER AND THE RELAY PANEL WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND REMAINED AT THE DEALER UNREPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,452.
THE PLASTIC OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACKED AT ABOUT 26,000 MILES CAUSING A MAJOR ENGINE OIL LEAK FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. OIL HAS LEAKED DOWN AND SPLATTERED ALL OVER THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE TRANSMISSION AND EXHAUST PIPE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT SMOKING AND A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE ON 3.6L PENTASTAR V6 ENGINES AND THE THE ONLY FIX IS A REPLACEMENT OF THE PART AT A COST OF $830.
THE OIL COOLER/FILTER HOUSING IS LEAKING OIL. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON THE 2014 JEEP WRANGLER AS EVIDENCED ACROSS OWNERSHIP FORUMS AND WEBSITES. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 63,000 MILES AND IS DRIVEN ON NORMAL CITY/HIGHWAY STREETS. ALL NORMAL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE ON TIME AT DEALERSHIPS. I FEEL THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS PART DUE TO THE VOLUME OF REPAIRS AND THE NUMEROUS RE-DESIGNS THAT JEEP HAS PERFORMED ON THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE REDESIGNS SIGNAL THAT JEEP KNOWS THERE IS AN INHERENT DESIGN ISSUE THAT LEADS TO FAILURE.
LOUD TICKING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF ENGINE. A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH MANY MODEL YEARS OF JEEPS. I WAS TOLD I DO NOT HAVE THE WARRANTY ANY LONGER BECAUSE MY WARRANTY FOR THE VEHICLE STARTED IN 2013. IF I DID, THIS KNOWN ISSUE WOULD NOT BE COVERED. SHOP WANTED 3K DOLLARS TO REPAIR. SOUND HAPPENS WITH CAR RUNNING ALL THE TIME IN DRIVE OR JUST IDLE. GETS LOUDER AS I ACCELERATE.
NEED TO REPLACE OIL SENSORS, FILTER HOUSING & INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET SET-WARPED. OIL LEAKING EVERYWHERE DUE TO CRACKED HOUSING. THERE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINTS SINCE 2014 IN ALL MAKES OF JEEP/CHRYSLER CARS AND THEY REFUSE TO RECALL/FIX. THIS IS A SERIOUS DANGER!
The oil filter housing was cracked and leaking and replaced under warranty a few years back. The same problem is happening again because it is a plastic oil filter housing. Chrysler knows its a defective part. Make them issue a recall please We shouldn't have to pay 800 plus to have it fixed with the same defective part. They're profiting from their mistake.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT DOES NOT ALWAYS STAY LATCHED IN PLACE. WHETHER OR NOT THE LATCH IS CONNECTED, IT SHOWS THAT THE SEATBELT NEEDS CONNECTED AND THE CHIME CONTINUOUSLY RINGS, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WORRIED WHETHER THIS WILL AFFECT OTHER SAFETY FEATURES, IN THE VEHICLE. ESPECIALLY THE AIRBAG. THIS ISSUE STARTED ON JULY 27, 2020.
CLOCK SPRING IS APPARENTLY DAMAGED AND NOT ALLOWING THE HORN, AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT OR RADIO CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO FUNCTION PROPERLY.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD MY MECHANIC SHOP CHECK THE CODES AND THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR THAT IS MOUNTED IN THE OIL FILTER HOUSING WENT OUT AT 64000 MILES. THE REPAIRS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE SINCE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WILL NEED TO BE REMOVED TO REPLACE THE PARTS. THE OIL FILTER HOUSING WHICH THE OIL PRESSURE MOUNTS INTO WILL ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED SINCE IT WAS LEAKING. THE SHOP ADVISED THEY HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND THE ISSUE WAS VERY COMMON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE BRAKING SYSTEM ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY STOP. DURING THE FAILURE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS SENSOR WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER THE SENSOR LIGHT DISAPPEARED AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
