2014 JEEP WRANGLER 3.6L , OIL COOLER LEAKING ENGINE OIL ON TOP OF THE ENGINE AND LEAKING OIL ON HOT EXHAUST, THIS COULD POSSIBLY START A FIRE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE, THE ENGINE LEAKED OIL ONTO THE EXHAUST. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,297.
NO OIL PRESSURE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON,NOISE FROM THE ENGINE LIFTERS KNOCKING NOW THE DEALER SHOWS ME DIRT ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD COVER AND THAT IS WAY THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE OIL SENSOR NOT WORKING I SAID.
THERE IS OIL LEAKING FROM UNDER MY JEEP AND A BURNING SMELL THAT SMELLS LIKE BURNT TIRES. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE OIL HOUSING LEAKING. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND VERY DANGEROUS.
THE ENGINE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY IS LEAKING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL INTO THE "V" OF THE ENGINE AND DRIPPING ON TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR OVER A WEEK AND UPON DRIVING SMOKE WITH THE SMELL OF BURNING OIL FILLED THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. TO THE EXTENT THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE PULLED OVER AND INSPECTED FOR FIRE AND DAMAGE. IT WAS NOTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION, FRAME RAILS, AND EXHAUST PIPES WERE COVERED IN OIL AND THE VEHICLE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2.5 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. NO PRIOR SIGNS OF AN OIL LEAK WERE PRESENT BEFORE THE SMOKE AND BURN OIL SMELL WAS NOTICED DURING NORMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE.
MY OIL COOLER WENT OUT AT 40,000 MILES WHICH I BELIEVE CAUSED MY HEAD GASKET TO BLOW.
ANOTHER 2014 JEEP WRANGLER OWNER WITH A CRACKED OIL FILTER HOUSING/COOLING ASSEMBLY. OIL IS SPILLING OUT ALL OVER EXHAUST. CERTAINLY A FIRE HAZARD. WITH AS MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THIS PARTICULAR PART THAT I HAVE SEEN ALL OVER JEEP FORMING AND ON THE NHTSA SITE I AM SURPRISED THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT TAKEN ANY ACTION BUT IS LEAVING THIS TO THEIR OWNERS TO RECTIFY.
OIL LEAKING FROM THE OIL COOLER. I NOTICED OIL ON THE TRANSMISSION AND UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND THE LEAK COMING FROM THE OIL COOLER BELOW THE OIL FILTER HOUSING. VEHICLE HAS 56,000 MILES ON IT
WHILE DRIVING NOTICED AN OIL BURNING SMELL, GOT HOME AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND FOUND A POOL OF ENGINE OIL. FOUND OUT FROM OWNER OF THE SAME CAR THAT A BROKEN OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE THE CAR TO BURN- VERY DANGEROUS INDEED. HAPPENS IN LOTS OF CHRYSLER'S VEHICLES
THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER IN MY JEEP WRANGLER CRACKED DOOR IS BROKEN AND IS CAUSING OIL TO LEAK INTO MY COOLER AND DAMAGE THAT
CRACKED OIL FILTER HOUSING, PICTURES SHOW LEAKS ON THE GROUND AND CROSS MEMBER, CAME OUT TO THE LEAKS THIS MORNING.
OIL COOLER LEAKING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING OIL THAT PRODUCED A BURNING ODOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE OIL LEAKED ONTO THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS ALSO EVIDENCE OF AN OIL LEAK ON THE GROUND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM FIAT OF ONTARIO (1202 AUTO CENTER DR, ONTARIO, CA 91761, (909) 906-7097) TO BE DIAGNOSED, WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,334.
OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING CRACKED DUE TO COLD WEATHER.
THE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY CRACKED CAUSING OIL TO GO ALL OVER THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION. IT'S AROUND 800.00+ TO REPLACE THIS PLASTIC PART AND IT'S A VERY VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN THE 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL? I LITERALLY STARTED IT AND LET IT IDLE FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE LEAVING FOR WORK AND IT DONE THIS IN MY CARPORT. OIL WAS EVERYWHERE.
FAILED OIL FILTER HOUSING AT 46,000 MILES. CATASTROPHIC FAILURE LEADING TO THE ENGINE BEING DRAINED OF ALL OIL WHILE BEING DRIVEN LESS THAN 7 MILES.
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING ADAPTOR IS DEFECTIVE. IT IS PLASTIC AND WHEN IT CRACKS IT DUMPS OIL DIRECTLY ONTO THE EXHAUST, WHICH CAN CAUSE A FIRE
SEEN OIL SPOTS ON MY DRIVEWAY SO I TOOK MY JEEP TO A DEALER WHERE A POND INVESTIGATING THEY FOUND THAT THE ENGINE OIL ADAPTER WAS LEAKING. THERE IS 51,668 MILES ON IT
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING ADAPTOR IS DEFECTIVE. IT IS PLASTIC AND WHEN IT CRACKS IT DUMPS OIL DIRECTLY ONTO THE EXHAUST, WHICH CAN CAUSE A FIRE.
CLOCK SPRING DRIVER SIDE IS WHAT ERROR CODE READ RECALL ON PASSENGER SIDE FIXED. NOW READING DRIVERS SIDE CLOCK SPRING
TRANSMISSION LEAKING OIL ONTO EXHAUST PIPE WHILE DRIVING. JUST STARTED 2 DAYS AGO. LEAKED APPROXIMATELY 1 PINT IN 30 MILES TRAVEL ON HIGHWAY. UNDER SIDE OF VEHICLE COVERED WITH OIL.
THE OIL COOLER BROKE AND IS LEAKING OIL ALL OVER MY ENGINE, TRANSFER CASE AND EXHAUST. JEEP SAYS IT'S COMMON AND THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY $850 OUT OF MY POCKET FOR A PLASTIC PART THAT WILL FAIL AGAIN. SHAME ON THEM. IT WAS SITTING IN MY GARAGE AND OIL IS EVERYWHERE ON THE GROUND. IT'S TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT DECODES TO A CYLINDER MISFIRE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE CYLINDER HAD LOW COMPRESSION. IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME WELL OVER $2000 TO FIX IT. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE ENGINES, SO MUCH SO THAT CHRYSLER ISSUED A TSB ON IT, HOWEVER THE TSB ONLY COVERS UP TO 2013 AND MINE IS A 2014. APPARENTLY THEY THOUGHT THEY FIXED IT, BUT PERHAPS THEY DIDN'T GET IT QUITE RIGHT, OR DIDN'T COVER ENOUGH YEARS. SEE CHRYSLER JEEP TSB 09-002-14 FOR REFERENCE. PLEASE NOTE WHILE THIS ISSUE DID NOT CAUSE AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY CONCERN, MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT NOT FIXING IT PROMPTLY WILL CAUSE UN-BURNT FUEL TO PASS THROUGH THE ENGINE WHICH IS LIKELY TO CAUSE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE. DUE TO THE EXTREME EXPENSE TO FIX THIS KNOWN ISSUE, PEOPLE WILL BE UNWILLING OR UNABLE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED RIGHT AWAY, AND THAT IN TURN COULD LEAD TO VARIOUS SAFETY RISKS, NOT TO MENTION POLLUTION CONTROLS ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT NOTICED OIL SPOTS ON THE DRIVEWAY FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE OIL COOLER FILTER HOUSING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,871.
PARKING BRAKE FAILED CAUSING VEHICLE TO ROLL WHILE SOMEONE WAS WORKING UNDER THE VEHICLE. DEALER IS UNABLE TO ADJUST PARKING BRAKE TO REMOVE SLACK IN PARKING CABLES AND FCA IS UNWILLING TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER THAT HAS A FAILED TENSIONING SPRING.
2014 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO GEAR STICK MOVING/SLIPPING WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THE FAILURE OCCURS ON A DAILY BASIS. THE WARRANTY COMPANY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE SO, WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. *JS
TICKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. THE NOISE BECOMES LOUDER WHEN THE ENGINE GETS WARM, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS CLOSE TO A WALL OR OTHER VEHICLES. DIAGNOSTIC FROM DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS DUE TO ROCKER ARM FAILURES.
2014 WRANGLER, LESS THAN 60,000 MILES, OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACKED. LEAKS A TON OF OIL NOW, SPLASHED IN THE EXHAUST, STINKS, AND COULD POSSIBLE START A FIRE. FOR SOME REASON THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS PARTICULAR YEAR AND MODEL BUT THERE ISN'T A RECALL 🤔
NOTICED OIL ON THE GARAGE FLOOR IN JANUARY 2020. ENGINE IS LEAKING OIL FROM THE OIL COOLER THAT IS ON TOP ON THE ENGINE. COULD BE A FIRE HAZARD AS OIL DRAINS DOWN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE. VEHICLE HAS 86000 MILES ON IT BUT HAS BEEN LEAKING FOR A WHILE. NOW IT IS LEAKING VERY BAD AND CAN SMELL BURNT OIL WHEN DRIVING. LOOKING ON FORUMS ONLINE AND MANY 2014 TO 2016 3.6 ENGINES HAVE THIS ISSUE. ISSUE SEAMS TO BE FROM FAULTY GASKETS AND IN SOME CASES CRACKED HOUSINGS ON THE OIL COOLER. MINE IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY. I THOUGHT IT WAS FROM THE OIL PAN GASKET AT FIRST, BUT WHEN I STARTED TO SMELL OIL BURNING, I STARTED LOOKING CLOSER AT IT AND FOUND OIL LAYING IN THE VALLEY ON TOP OF THE ENGINE.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT JUST CAME ON IN MY 2014 JEEP JK. AFTER DILIGENT RESEARCH ONLINE, AND WITH THE MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE I HAVE. I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. AFTER RESEARCHING FURTHER, I FOUND IN NUMEROUS THREADS, POST, BLOGS, AND FORUMS, THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH ALL JEEP JK'S. A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE 07 AND 08 JK'S, AND ALSO FOR THE NEWER MODEL RIGHT HAND DRIVE JK'S. HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED IN THE 09 THROUGH 18 JK'S. THIS CAN CAUSE SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAGS, AND BELIEVE JEEP SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THESE LATTER YEAR JK'S AS WELL. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING BACK HOME FROM ACROSS TOWN. AT FIRST WITH THE LIGHT AND CHIME COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY. THEN FINALLY THE LIGHT STAYED ON. I HAVE NOT BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE THIS AS I BELIEVE I HAVE DONE SO ON MY OWN. THIS IS A QUITE EXPENSIVE FIX FOR A SAFETY ISSUE THAT I DON'T BELIEVE JEEP BUYERS SHOULD HAVE TO PAY.
OIL FILTER HOUSING IS LEAKING, CAUSING COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF ENGINE OIL TO LEAK OVER THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION AND DROPPING DOWN ON TO ENGINE EXHAUST CAUSING IT SMOKE AND EMIT NOXIOUS FUMES INTO THE VEHICLE CABIN. POTENTIAL FOR FIRE IS EXTREMELY HIGH, I HAD TO PULL OVER AND EXIT VEHICLE DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE COMING INTO THE CABIN FROM THE UNDERNEATH. UPON INVESTIGATING I INITIALLY THOUGHT MY TRANSMISSION HAD BLOWN A LINE BECAUSE OF HOW MUCH OIL WAS COATING THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE JEEP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND CENTER VENTS WERE DISTRIBUTING COLD AIR AND THE ANTI-FREEZE WAS DEPLETED WITHIN A WEEK. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
HORN PROBLEM - HORN APPEARS TO RUN OFF A RELAY, SO WHEN HORN IS DEPRESSED IT TAKES .5-1 SECOND FOR A IT TO SOUND. A REAL SAFETY CONCERN IF SOMEONE IS QUICKLY MERGING INTO MY LANE AND I CAN'T WARN THEM THAT I AM THERE - WHICH HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES NOW.
OIL COOLER/FILTER POOLS OUT OIL BECAUSE OF PLASTIC HOUSING. THIS WEARS, CRACKS DURING ROUTINE OIL CHANGES. THE OIL POOLS AND DRIPS ALL OVER TRANSMISSION HOUSING, UNDER SKID PLATES AND YOU SIMPLY LOSE ALL OF YOUR OIL. NO A GOOD DESIGN, SIMPLY LAZY BY CHRYSLER.
DEALER SAYS I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RECALLS OUT ON THE JEEP WRANGLER I OWN. ONE IS FOR THE CLOCK SPRING RECALL WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED. NOW THERE IS ANOTHER RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO GET THESE FIXED.
APPROXIMATELY 8 MONTHS AGO, I HAD MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH MY JKU SHIFTING INCORRECTLY WHILE GOING UP & DOWN THE STREETS WHICH I LIVE ON IN KAILUA KONA, HAWAII. I LIVE ON A VOLCANO & THUS THE STREETS ARE AT A GREAT DEGREE, UP TO 25% GRADE. MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ON ITS OWN WAS COMING UP A STREET WHERE I DOWNSHIFTED TO 2ND GEAR....THE JEEP THEN SHIFTED INTO 1ST ON ITS OWN AND THEN UPSHIFTED TO 3RD, THEN DOWN TO 2ND & THEN TO 1ST, ALL ON ITS OWN. I THEN CAME TO A STOP SIGN & PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE FOR AUTOMATIC HOPING THAT IT WOULD STOP. FOR ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS AFTER THAT, IT SEEMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE & THEN NOTHING. IT DROVE FINE. I NEVER TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FROM THAT ONE OR TWO INSTANCES. ON 8/5/19 I TOOK MY JEEP IN FOR A REGULAR OIL CHANGE. KONA KWIK LUBE LOOKED AT EVERYTHING & SAID THAT EVERYTHING ON THE JKU LOOKED GREAT. I THEN HAD TO LEAVE TOWN FOR A WEEK & UPON RETURN FROM THE MAINLAND, I HAD NUMEROUS DROPS (OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS OIL) ON THE FLOOR OF MY CARPORT. I TOOK MY JEEP TO REPAIR SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTIC & WAS TOLD THAT THEY SAW SIGNS OF OIL LEAK FROM THE OIL FILTER HOUSING, BUT WERE UNABLE TO PINPOINT LOCATION OF LEAK. AS I KNEW THE MANAGER OF KKL, I TOOK IT BACK THERE. THEY CLEANED UP THE AREA & STATED THAT IT WAS NOT OIL LEAK. UPON RETURNING HOME, I HAD NO LEAKS COMING FROM THE JEEP FOR 2 WEEKS.THEN THE LEAKS STARTED. I WENT BACK TO KKL ON 10/9/19 WHERE THEY PUT DYE IN THE ENGINE TO FIND THE LEAK. ON 10/14/19 THEY SAW NO DYE IN THE ENGINE, THEREBY NOTING THAT IT WAS TRANSMISSION. I WENT TO TRANSMISSION TECHNOLOGY RIGHT AFTER, & I WAS ADVISED THAT I HAD A GERMAN TRANSMISSION & THE TRANSMISSION PUMP, SEALS, ETC. WERE ALL LEAKING & IT WOULD BE OVER $2,000 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. I ONLY HAVE 37,933 MILES ON THIS 2014 JKU. AT 38,000 MILES, THIS TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE LEAKING. JEEP DECLINED COVER. *TR*JB
THE RADIO IN MY JK 2014 SAHARA KEPT OVER HEATING AND NOW DOES NOT WORK AT ALL IT IS COMPLETELY BLACK SCREEN

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD BEEN WAITING SINCE APRIL FOR PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V018000 (AIR BAGS), BUT THE PART FOR THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (UNKNOWN DEALER INFORMATION) WAS CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THERE WAS DOWN POUR, WATER WOULD ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS FOOT SLID OFF OF THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL DUE TO THE WET CARPET. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALBERIC CHRYSLER DEALER, (551 MARGINAL JR, SAN JUAN, PR 00920, (787) 793-2223) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 59,104.
ENGINE COOLANT AND OIL SPRAYED THE UNDERSIDE OF THE JEEP STARTED SMOKING PAID TO HAVE IT FIXED THEN 4 MONTHS LATER THE COOLANT IS STARTING TO LEAK AGAIN. WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE CHEAPLY MADE AND I AM BETTER OFF DITCHING THIS JEEP BEFORE IT CATCHES FIRE.
MANY SERVICE LIGHTS RELATED TO EVAPORATION LEAK, DEALER KEPT RESETTING, AND REPLACED GAS CAP AND PAID FOR COUNTLESS CHECKS EACH TIME THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR. FINALLY DISCOVERED FUEL WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE TANK, AND AS A RESULT I HAD TO REPLACE MY FUEL TANK, FUEL FILLER HOSE, FUEL TRANSFER TUBE, FUEL VAPOR TUBE, FUEL CANISTER PURGE, AND FUEL SUPPLY TUBE AT A HIGH COST. WHEN SPEAKING TO THE DEALER GIVEN THE CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD, THEY INDICATED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP WRANGLERS AND THAT IN THAT WEEK ALONE THEY HAD DONE 4 OR 5 FUEL TANK REPLACEMENTS. DURING ALL OF THIS MY VEHICLE WAS UNDRIVEABLE FOR 2 MONTHS.
THE HEADS ON THE PENSTAR MOTOR WENT BAD DUE TO A SIMILAR ISSUES THAT WAS RECALLED ON THE 2012 AND 2013 JEEP WRANGLERS CAUSING THE COMPRESSION TO PULL IN COOLANT INTO THE CYLINDERS AND CAUSING IT NOT TO START.
VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WHEN BRAKE WAS APPLIED AT INTERSECTION. BRAKE PEDAL WAS DOWN AT FLOOR AND IT FELT AS THOUGH THE ABS WAS KICKING ON, ALSO THE STEERING WAS AFFECTED. NOTE: BRAKE INSPECTION WAS DONE AT BILL MARSH DEALERSHIP IN KALKASKA,MI 10 DAYS PRIOR TO INCIDENT AND BRAKES SUPPOSEDLY WERE OK
DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASH ON INCLUDING TRACTION LIGHT AND ABS AND FEELS LIKE MY BRAKES ARE PUMPING EVEN WHEN I DID NOT TOUCH THE BRAKES WITH DINGING SOUND RADIO SHUTS OFF, HORN DOES NOT WORK OR THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO WORK THE RADIO. VERY DANGEROUS ESP WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY.
FOR 2014, CHRYSLER MADE A CHANGE TO A PART CALLED THE "OIL FILTER ADAPTER" WHICH SITS ON TOP OF THE ENGINE, UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THERE ARE NOW A PARADE OF PEOPLE WITH VARIOUS CHRYSLER VEHICLES THAT USE THE 3.6L REPORTING THAT THE NEW PART CRACKS, CAUSING A MAJOR OIL LEAK, POTENTIALLY A FIRE, AND CAN CAUSE YOUR ENGINE TO BE DRAINED OF ALL OIL. PART NUMBER IS 68105583AA AND IT APPLIES ONLY TO 3.6L CHRYSLER V6 ENGINES. I PURCHASED THE JEEP USED AND NOW HAVE JUST OVER 60K MILES - CHRYSLER IS REFUSING TO COVER UNDER THEIR "100K MILE" POWERTRAIN WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND I STILL HAVE ALMOST 40K MILES TO GO BEFORE I REACH 100K MILES.
ROCKER ARMS WERE REPLACED AT 88,000 MILES AND NOW AT 110,000 THEY NEED REPLACED AGAIN. OIL CHANGES DONE AT EVERY 3000 MILES DUE TO DUSTY CONDITIONS ON MAIL ROUTE. VERY FRUSTRATING SEVERAL CO-WORKERS HAVE SAME COMPLAINT AS THESE VEHICLES ARE GREAT FOR THE JOB THEY ARE BUILT FOR . THIS EXPENSE SHOULD NOT BE A FACTOR IN CONSIDERING THESE VEHICLES FOR PURCHASE TO WORK AT THIS JOB..
AIRBAG RECALL: I'VE HAD AN AIRBAG LIGHT ON FOR OVER A YEAR NOW BUT NO ACTIVE RECALL WAS OUT FOR MY VIN AT THE TIME I CHECKED WITH THE DEALER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. RECENTLY, THE ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON WITH A FAULT CODE FOR THE AIRBAG. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE LARRY H MILLER DODGE LOCATED AT 4220 E 22ND ST, TUCSON, AZ 85711 TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. AFTER WRITING UP A WORK ORDER FOR ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL STATING I WOULD NEED A CLOCKSPRING TO RECTIFY THE AIRBAG PROBLEM. AT THIS TIME I INFORMED THEM THAT THERE WAS AN ACTIVE SAFETY RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE, WHICH THEY WERE UNAWARE OF DESPITE HAVING PRINTED THE INFORMATION WHEN THEY CHECKED THE VEHICLE IN (NOBODY ACTUALLY CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL, THEY SIMPLY PRINTED THE NECESSARY VIN CHECK PAPERWORK). IN ADDITION TO THIS I ALSO HAVE LOST CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTION AS WELL AS HAVING TO PRESS EXTREMELY HARD ON MY STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS FOR THEM TO WORK. SOUNDS SIMILAR TO OTHER PEOPLES' REPORTED PROBLEMS. I FEEL I SHOULDN'T BE CHARGED A DIAGNOSTIC IN THE FIRST PLACE AS THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST THING THAT WAS CHECKED AND CORRECTED BEFORE ANYTHING BUT I'LL HAVE TO TAKE THAT UP WITH THEM.
DOOR HINGES ARE RUSTING FROM UNDERNEATH THE PAINT. "AT THE START OF THE 2007 MODEL YEAR, JEEP STARTED USING ALUMINUM HINGES THAT CARRY A SECRET; A FLAW IN THE WAY THAT THE ALUMINUM IS ANODIZED CAUSES OXIDATION UNDER THE PAINT, EVEN WITH THE ABSENCE OF AIR AND WATER.WHAT YOU ESSENTIALLY HAVE IS A VEHICLE WITH HINGES THAT ARE SUBPAR." TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER SIGNIFICANT OTHER WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL LOCKED UP. AS A RESULT, CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOST CONTROL CAUSING THE VEHICLE FLIPPING OVER. NONE OF THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DEPLOY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED RECEIVING A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V018000 (AIR BAGS). THE POLICE WAS PRESENT AND A REPORT WAS FILED UNDER NUMBER: 2019-20427. THE CONTACTS SIGNIFICANT OTHER WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE AND REMAINED THERE FOR THREE DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND FACILITY. THE VEHICLE AS OF YET WAS NOT DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS UNDER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *DT*JB
IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017 I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE FROM AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS. WITH THIS PURCHASE THERE WAS WRITTEN NOTICE OF IT BEING CERTIFIED WITH A COMPLETE INSPECTION DONE. THIS INSPECTION NOTES AND CERTIFIES THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE, USABLE, AND WITH NO DEFECTS. THIS DOCUMENT SPECIFICALLY NOTED SEVERAL ITEMS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE SUSPENSION OF THE JEEP. ALL NOTED AS CERTIFIED. AFTER POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE AN EVENT OCCURRED WHERE THE JEEP LOST CONTROL, PUTTING MY LIFE AND FAMILY'S LIFE AT RISK AS WE WERE THROWN INTO ANOTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC. WE HAD NO UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THIS ISSUE AS WE UNDERSTOOD THAT THIS JEEP WAS CERTIFIED, BOTH WRITTEN AND ORALLY. I THEN TOOK THE JEEP TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT CAUSED THE JEEP TO LOSE CONTROL. THE DEALERSHIP THEN FOUND THAT THE SHOCKS WERE NOT FASTENED PROPERLY BECAUSE OF MODIFICATIONS DONE BY EITHER AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS OR A 3RD PARTY. NONE OF THIS WAS DISCLOSED IN THE WRITTEN OR ORAL CERTIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE. DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS DENIED LIABILITY AND REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FALSE WRITTEN AND ORAL CERTIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE. MY OPINION IS THAT THE JEEP IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND MAY NEVER BE SAFE TO DRIVE IN THE FUTURE. AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THESE MODIFICATIONS AND SAFETY ISSUES DURING THEIR INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. THIS INSPECTION WHICH WAS PASSED, SHOWN WRITTEN AND TOLD VERBALLY PUTS MY FAMILY AT RISK TO PROFIT ON A VEHICLE PURCHASE. IN DOING SO WE WERE FALSELY REPRESENTED IN THIS SITUATION FROM THE AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS TEAM.
