WHEN I GET ON THE HIGHWAY AND DRIVE OVER 60 MPH THE HOOD WILL FLUTTER MASSIVELY LIKE IT'S GOING TO FLY UP AND SLAM INTO MY WINDSHIELD. I'VE HEARD THAT THE MATCHES ARE GIVING OUT FROM THE FACTORIES AND HAVE HEARD LOTS OF STORIES OF THEM BREAKING.
ALL BUTTONS EXCEPT CRUISE CONTROL ON THE STEERING WHEEL HAVE QUIT WORKING. THE HORN WON'T WORK EITHER. WHEN IT QUIT WORKING THE VOLUME BUTTONS STARTED ACTING UP THEN IT ALL JUST QUIT AT ONCE. I'M SURE IF ALL THAT HAS STOPPED WORKING THEN THE AIR BAG WON'T EITHER. I BELIEVE IT'S THE CLOCK SPRING CAUSING ALL THIS CHAOS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED ATLANTIC CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (555 SUNRISE HWY, WEST ISLIP, NY 11795, (631) 422-0123) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TIPM MALFUNCTIONING. JEEP INDICATING DOOR AJAR/NOT IN PARK. VEHICLE HAS INDICATED OTHER PROBLEM VIA DASH WHILE DRIVING. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD NEEDED NEW TIPM.
WINDY DAY ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY HOOD WAS FLUTTERING SO BAD THAT I HAD TO GET OFF THE HIGH WAY FOR THE FEAR OF MY LIFE. ONE OF THE LATCHES CAME UN DONE DURRING THAT TIME AND FEARED MY HOOD WOULD FLIP OPEN AND BLOCK MY WINDAHIELD
MOPAR OIL COOLER HOUSING, WHICH HOUSES A COOLER AND OIL FILTER, SITS ON THE ENGINE AND HAS CRACKED, CAUSING OIL TO LEAK OUT OF IT. OIL LEAKS DOWN THE ENGINE AND ONTO THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND A COMMON ISSUE WITH 2014'S, WHICH CAN BE FOUND VIA A QUICK AND SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH. CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN I DISCOVERED THE LEAK. CAR DEALERSHIP VERIFIED THE ISSUE AND SUPPLIED ME WITH AN ESTIMATE, STATING THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE. ABOUT 3 HOUR REPAIR AND COULD COST 700-1100.
2014 RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT WITH 139,571 MILES. WHILE DRIVING FOUND STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WOULD NOT WORK MAY 2019. DEALER FOUND CODE SAYING COCKSPRING HAS ELECTRICAL FAILURE. ITEM WAS REPLACED FOR THE 2ND TIME - LAST BEING AT 73,416 MILE UNDER A SAFETY RECALL S40 IN 2016. STILL USING THE SAME - NOT IMPROVED JEEP/CHRYSLER- PART WHICH COST ME $622.74 TO REPLACE WHICH LASTED 66,155 MILES BETWEEN REPLACEMENTS. THIS DEFECTIVE PART AFFECTS AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. NO IMPROVEMENT IN RECALLED PART BY JEEP/CHRYSLER ????????? EVEN THOUGH IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART. THEY USE THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART TO REPLACE ONE THAT HAS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE.

EAST HILLS JEEP (2300 NORTHERN BLVD, GREENVALE, NY 11548, (866) 386-2702) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. At approx 45,000 miles the rocker arm bearing failed causing a ticking noise in the engine. Upon researching this issue, I have found multiple complaints and confirmation that this issue is due to poor manufacturing.
EARLY MAY 2019 MY JEEP'S STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS STARTED MALFUNCTIONING AND NOW COMPLETELY NOT WORKING. THE HORN STOPPED WORKING, RADIO AND HANDS FREE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I CAN NOT USE MY DASH SCREEN AT ALL AND IT'S JUST SHOWING '- - '. I COULD NOT USE MY HORN ON MAY10TH AND WAS CUT OFF AND AS A RESULT WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE FRONT END WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED AND THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AND I BUSTED MY FACE ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIT HEAD ON WINDSHIELD. DIAGNOSTIC SCAN SAID THERE WAS 0 CODES PRIOR TO ACCIDENT AND THAT TRIGGERED ME TO DO RESEARCH ON THE CLOCK SPRING RECALL BUT MY VIN IS NOT UNDER IT???

I HAVE TAKEN MY WRANGLER IN FOR THE 2ND TIME NOW WITH A BLACK SLUDGE IN THE OVERFLOW AND RADIATOR. THE LAST DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE RADIATOR, TRANS COOLER, ALL HOSES AND AND FLUSHED. NOW ONE YEAR LATER I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOW TELLING ME THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE ISSUE IS, AND IS WANTING TO CHARGE ME FOR A FLUSH. THIS COOLANT IS RATED TO 150,000 MILES I SHOULD NOT NEED A FLUSH. I BELIEVE I MAY BE APART OF AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH SAND IN THE HEATER CORE AS THEY WANT TO REPLACE THIS BUT SAYING IT MAY NOT BE COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. THERE IS ALWAYS AN ODOR OF ANTI-FREEZE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE NOTICED WHEN AROUND OTHER WRANGLER JK'S I SMELL THE ANTIFREEZE WITH THEM TOO.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS WINDY PER USUAL IN MIDWEST. I MET A SEMI AND BOTH RUBBER HOOD LATCHES SNAPPED. THE HOOD WAS FLUTTERING WILDLY HELD IN PLACE ONLY BY THE SAFETY HOOD CATCH. I MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, FOUND A JEEP DEALER ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY AND MADE IT THERE VIA NASTY DIRT ROADS FOR AN UNPLANNED EMERGENCY STOP TO GET IT TO REPLACED SO I COULD CONTINUE MY 6 HOUR JOURNEY. MY JEEP HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECTED TO UNUSUAL CONDITIONS, AND, IN FACT, HAS HAD A SHELTERED, HEATED GARAGE STALL AT LEAST HALF OF IT'S LIFE.
JEEP HAS A KNOWN EPIC FAILURE IS DESIGN FLAW IN ITS 2014 WRANGLER WHEN IT SWITCHED FROM A METAL OIL FILTER COOLER HOUSING TO A PLASTIC OIL FILTER COOLER HOUSING. HUNDREDS OF CASES OF THE PART BREAKING/LEAKING OIL ALL OVER LOWER ENGINE AND EXHAUST WHICH IS A FIRE HAZARD. MY PART LEAKED OIL OVER AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT OF TIME BECAUSE I LIVE WITH A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY.....NOW DEALER SHOWS ME "METAL" LIKE GLOW TO OIL WHICH COULD BE ENGINE FAILURE.....HUNDREDS OF CASES
TAKATA RECALL WE GOT THE NOTICED ABOUT THE RECALL. HOW IT COULD BE LIFE THREATENING. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS HOW A RECALL CAN BE PUT OUT LIKE THAT AND THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. WE TOOK OUR JEEP TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD PART HAD TO BE ORDERED. LITTLE OVER A MONTH AND THE PART STILL WASN'T IN. NEEDLESS TO SAY OUR JEEP WAS IN A WRECK. NOW MY HUSBAND HAS NIGHTMARES BECAUSE WE WERE HEADING FOR A MEDIAN WALL STRAIGHT ON. SOME HOW HE GOT THE WHEEL TURNED JUST ENOUGH SO WE HIT THE CORNER OF THE BUMPER. THANK GOD THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AS I COULD HAVE BEEN BADLY HURT OR DIED. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY GETTING PARTS TAKES SO LONG. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE WHEN IT IS THE MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH JEEP AND THEY WANTED TO KNOW WHERE OUR JEEP WAS SO THEY COULD LOOK AT IT. WHY DOES THAT MATTER?! IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT IT TAKES SO LONG TO GET PARTS. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS MY WHOLE REASON IN WRITING YOU. CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR PARTS ESPECIALLY WHEN THAT PART IS IN A VEHICLE. THE DATE BELOW IS THE DATE OF OUR ACCIDENT.
ON 4/17/19, I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 JEEP WRANGLER JK STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT (WITH MY WINDOW DOWN) WHEN I DETECTED THE ODOR OF BURNING OIL. I THOUGHT IT WAS FROM SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR. ON 4/21/19, I DETECTED THE ODOR AGAIN, AND WHEN I GOT HOME I OBSERVED OIL LEAKING AND ALL OVER THE UNDERSIDE OF MY VEHICLE. IT ALSO APPEARED TO BE DRIPPING ON MY HOT EXHAUST WHICH IS A FIRE HAZARD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT'S DUE A CRACKED PLASTIC OIL COOLER HOUSING, IT'S GOING TO SET ME BACK A LOT OF MONEY, AND THE ISSUE MAY HAPPEN AGAIN. I'M LUCKY THAT THE OIL DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE. I'VE DONE RESEARCH ONLINE AND SEE THAT NUMEROUS 2014 JEEP WRANGLERS HAVE THIS OIL LEAKAGE DUE TO DESIGN FLAW UTILIZING PLASTIC PARTS.
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH THE JEEP FRONT END AND STEERING STARTED TO VIOLENTLY STAKE AND WOBBLE AND DID NOT STOP UNTIL THE JEEP CAME TO FULL STOP. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD AFTER ENCOUNTERING A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. AGAIN THIS VIOLENT WOBBLE DID NOT STOP UNTIL THE JEEP CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP.

OIL COOLER HOUSING LEAKING OIL AT 30,000 MILES
I HAD A RECALL ON PASSENGER AIRBAG AND HAD IT REPAIRED AT DEALERSHIP. SINCE THE REPAIR, MY AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND THEY SAY I NEED A CLOCKSPRING REPLACED. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL THEY REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. NOW THEY ARE SAYING I WILL HAVE TO PAY OVER $800 TO REPLACE THE CLOCKSPRING. I ONLY HAVE 62,000 MILES ON THE JEEP AND IT SHOULDN'T NEED THIS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT SOMETHING HAPPENED WHEN WHEN THEY DID THE RECALL REPAIR.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT WHERE THE INSURANCE COMPANY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL OUR ON THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR (PAB). I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT ON AT PREMIER CAPE COD ON MARCH 19TH TO HAVE IT SERVICED FOR THE RECALL ON MARCH 30TH, TO BE TOLD THEY DON'T DO RECALLS ON SATURDAYS. I WORK AND LIVE TWO HOURS FROM THIS LOCATION SO IT'S VERY INCONVENIENT FOR ME TO GET TO THIS LOCATION DURING THE WORK WEEK, AS I TRAVEL FREQUENTLY AS WELL. THE EARLIEST I CAN GET THE JEEP TO THE CAPE IS FRIDAY, APRIL 26TH AND EVEN THAT IS SUBSTANTIALLY INCONVENIENT - THEY ARE UNWILLING TO PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER FOR THE SERVICE AS WELL. I'M DISAPPOINTED AND CONCERNED GIVEN THAT "AN INFLATOR EXPLOSION MAY CAUSE METAL FRAGMENTS TO PASS THROUGH THE AIR BAG AND INTO THE VEHICLE INTERIOR WHICH MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH." ANYWAY, JUST THOUGHT I'D PUT IN MY TWO CENTS.

TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE AND TRIED TO SCHEDULE APPOIMTMENT FOR REPAIRS AND DEALER CAN'T GET PARTS AND TOLD ME TO TRY BACK EVERY MONTH OR SO. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
TAKATA RECALL-I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON MY 2014 JEEP AIR BAG. IT STATED THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO TAKE STEPS TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED MY JEEP. A FEW DAYS LATER THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS TO FIX MY JEEP TO MAKE IT SAFE. I ASKED WHEN THEY EXPECTED TO HAVE THE PART AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT KNOW, THAT THE COMPANY HAD GONE BANKRUPT AND DID NOT MAKE THE AIRBAG. I TOLD THEM I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THAT ANSWER AND THAT I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE MY JEEP IN FEAR THAT THE AIRBAG MIGHT ERUPT CAUSING DEATH TO MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS. I ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD DISASSEMBLE THE AIR BAG SO AS TO RELIEVE THIS POSSIBILITY OF INJURY OR DEATH AND THEY SAID NO THEY COULD NOT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU AS INSTRUCTED IN THE AFOREMENTIONED LETTER. PLEASE HELP! AT 167414 MILES FOUND CLUTCH SLIPPING, TROUBLESHOT TO CLUTCH BEING SATURATED WITH ENGINE OIL. PRIOR TO THE CLUTCH SLIPPING THE OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACKED TWICE AND REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY TWICE, SUSPECTED LEAK CAUSED CLUTCH TO BE SATURATED. DEALER PLACE DYE IN OIL TO VERIFY LEAK IS FIXED. ALSO TRYING TO WORK WITH DEALER TO REPLACE CLUTCH AT REASONABLE PRICE SONCE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY A WARRANTIED PART. WHILE TRANSMISSION WAS OUT ALSO FOUND TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK FROM THE INPUT SHAFT SEAL I HAVE ASKED DEALER TO FIX THIS ISSUE, BUT ONLY RECOMMENDED A TRANSMISSION SERVICE, NOTHING TO VERIFY THE LEAK AND VERIFY THE INPUT SHAFT IS NOT SCORNED OR DAMAGED. WILL TAKE TO ANOTHER DEALER AFTER BEING CHECKED FOR THE DYE, ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE. PHOTOS ATTACHED SHOW OIL AROUND CLUTCH, BELL HOUSING COATED WITH OIL AND THE INPUT SHAFT LEAK.

2014 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED. STARTED WITH BURNING OIL SMELL IN VEHICLE. THEN PUDDLE ON THE GROUND WHEREVER I PARKED. WENT BACK TO SEE IF THEY PUT THE OIL FILTER ON WRONG. FOUND OUT IT WAS THE OIL HOUSING LEAKING. TAKING INTO JEEP FOR REPAIR ON 03/07/2019 MILAGE 94,000. SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL, THERE ARE SO MANY VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUES.

OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING HAS BROKE
CRACKED WINDSHIELD FROM SIMPLY TURNING ON MY DEFROSTER.. WAS DRIVING , WINDOWS FOGGED AND TURNED UP HEAT AND DEFROST. NEXT THING I KNOW THERE IS A HORIZINTAL CRACK FROM THE LOWER CENTER THAT THEN TURNS VERTICALLY TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE..UNBELIEVABLE!!
THE MECHANISM OF WHAT HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE IS UNDETERMINED WHETHER IT WAS STATIONARY OR WHILE DRIVING. HOWEVER I NOTICED A MASSIVE OIL LEAK AFTER DRIVING. THE ENTIRE UNDER SIDE OF THE JEEP WHERE THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE ARE WERE COMPLETELY SOAKED IN MOTOR OIL. AFTER TAKING IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP, THEY DIAGNOSED IT TO BE A LEAK COMING FROM THE ACTUAL OIL COOLER HOUSING. COME TO FIND OUT MY VEHICLE HAS ALREADY PASSED ITS WARRANTY COVERAGE DATE. AND AFTER DOING A LITTLE BIT OF RESEARCH, IT SEEMS I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR JEEP, NOT SPECIFICALLY JUST THE 2014 MODELS OTHERS AS WELL. OTHER THAN THE COMPLAINTS FROM INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE PURCHASED A JEEP, I HAVE YET TO FIND ANY COMMENT FROM MOPAR, CHRYSLER, OR THE JEEP MANUFACTURER THEMSELVES ADDRESSING THE ISSUE OF HAVING A PLASTIC OIL COOLER HOUSING. FYI ITS NOT THAT EASY OF A REPAIR SO IT COULD BE QUITE COSTLY TO SOME.
I HAVE THE 2014 JEEP WRANGLER WITH ONLY 47000 MILES. I HAVE KEPT EXCELLENT CARE OF THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS USED ONLY AS DAILY DRIVER WITH NO ABUSE WHATSOEVER.JUST WITHIN THE MONTH OF 2/2019 A CODE; P0305 MISFIRE DEVELOPED WITH THE TYPICAL PENASTAR ENGINE "KNOCK" AND IDLING ROUGH. ALSO, THE LAST WEEK OF 2/2019 THERE WAS A LARGE OIL SPOT ON MY GARAGE FLOOR DUE TO AN OIL COOLER/OIL HOUSING LEAK. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE SERVICE SUPERVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON OCCURANCE AND THE OIL COOLER/HOUSING UNIT IS REPLACED OFTEN. HOW IT IS POSSIBLE THAT CHRYSLER CAN ALLOW THIS? AT 47000 MILES THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN AND IS ENEXCEPTABLE.UNTIL THIS EXTENSIVE REPAIR IS COMPLETED THE VEHICLE IS IS RENDERED USELESS AND MY JOB IS NOW INTERRUPTED. NOW IN ADDTION TO THE MISFIRE I NOW HAVE THIS HUGE OIL LEAK TO CONTEND WITH; PLEASE REFER TO THE PICTURE ATTACHED OF THE OIL STAIN THAT WAS DISCOVERED ON MY GARAGE FLOOR.... THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE OF MY TRANSMISSION/BELL HOUSING AND CROSS MEMBER COVERED IN OIL. MOREOVER I JUST RECEIVED AN LETTER INFORMING ME THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ALSO IS RECALLED AND I HAVE YET TO ADDRESS THIS AS WELL. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT AGAIN. I CAN'T TELL YOU THE LEVEL OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND BETRAYAL I FEEL FOR BUYING AN "AMERICAN MADE" CAR. I HOPE CHRYSLER/FIAT CORPERATE IS ENJOYING SHORT CHANGING THE CONSUMER BUY USING INFERIOR AND FAULTY PARTS TO SAVE MONEY AND RIP OFF THE CONSUMER THIS WAY. I AM SURE NO ONE CARES AND I AM JUST WASTING MY TIME BUT THIS SHOULD BE NOTED AND PEOPLE MADE AWARE.
TAKATA INFLATER. THE PROBLEM ISN'T THE RECALL. THE PROBLEM IS GETTING THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE PARTS THAT CHRYSLER (FIAT) IS RATIONING THEM. WHY IS MY SAFETY IN JEOPARDY BECAUSE JEEP WON'T APPROVE PARTS?
40000 MILES AND THE REAR MAIN SEAL IS ALREADY LEAKING BAD. HAPPENED WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT IN 2016 AND THE DEALER SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG OR LEAKING AS I WAS LOOSING OIL.. NOW IT'S LEAKING TERRIBLY BAD AND THEY WON'T COVER IT.
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING IS LEAKING AND THE VALVES AND ROCKER ARMS NEED REPLACING
ENGINE LIGHT IS ON DO TO OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. FROM EVERYTHING I'M READING THIS IS VERY COMMON IN THE JEEP WRANGLERS. WHY ISN'T THIS RECALLED. I WAS QUOTED $600.00 TO GET THIS FIX. I AM TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THIS AS IT COULD RUIN THE ENGINE.

THE REGIONAL MAINTENANCE MANAGER --REFUSED TO OPEN THE "STAR" CASE --FEARING THAT THE IDENTIFIED ELECTRICAL & ENGINE PROBLEM COULD CAUSE A RECALL AND SAFETY RECALL. ON 2-18-2019 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM US CUSTOMER CARE AT FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOTIVE, AND TOLD THAT BECAUSE OF THE AREA MANAGEMENT REFUSAL TO OPEN A "STAR" MY CASE WITH THEM HAS BEEN CLOSED.
THE CLOCKSPRING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN MY CAR. THIS IS A FIVE YEAR OLD CAR. THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE AND A DEFECT AS PREVIOUS MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. HORN DOESN'T WORK. CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK. BUTTONS DO NOT WORK. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THIS CAN CAUSE THE AIR BAG TO NOT WORK.
I HAVE CONTACTED A LOCAL DEALER AS WELL AS JEEP DIRECTLY AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PART TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE IS NOT AVAILABLE. THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR THREE MONTHS.

CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP AND RAM OF INVERNESS (2077 FL-44, INVERNESS, FL 34453, (352) 341-7398) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELT SPOOL MALFUNCTIONS AND DOES NOT RETRACT SEAT BELT, LEAVING TOO MUCH SLACK TO RESTRAIN DRIVER OR PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. DEALER CHARGES $533.10 FOR PARTS AND LABOR FOR SEAT BELT REPLACEMENT. SEAT BELT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR BY RECALL (THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS). LIKE AN AIRBAG, THIS SHOULD BE COVERED.
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING AND OIL COOLER IS LEAKING CAUSING OIL TO POOL ON TOP OF ENGINE. THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE DUE TO OIL RUNNING DOWN THE ENGINE AND GETTING ON THE EXHAUST.
OIL FILTER/COOLER HOUSING LEAK. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2014/15 PENSTAR ENGINES. HAPPENING AROUND 50,000 MILES OR 5/6 OIL CHANGE. LEAK CAUSES OIL TO POOL ON TOP OF ENGINE AND RUNNING DOWN ONTO THE EXHAUST AND TRANSMISSION PAN. CAN LEAK AS MUCH AS .5 QUARTS OF OIL IN A SHORT MATTER OF TIME. THIS IS A $600 FIX AT A DEALER. RESEARCH SHOWS IT IS VERY COMMON. SOMETHING THIS COMMON SHOULD NOT BE PUT ON THE OWNERS EXPENSE.

CHAMPION CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (4505 WEST 96TH STREET, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46268, (317) 872-6200) DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL COOLER FILTER HOUSING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
DRIVE THE JEEP APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES ON 1/18/19. PARKED IT IN MY DRIVE WAY FOR THE NIGHT. AIR TEMP GOT TO BETWEEN 15 AND 20 DEGREES THAT NIGHT. AT APPROXIMATELY 10:30 AM I STARTED THE JEEP TO ALLOW IT TO WARM UP BEFORE DRIVING 3 MILES TO TOWN. AT ABOUT MILE 2 I NOTICED A BURNING OIL SMELL. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND SAW MOTOR OIL COVERING MY TRANSMISSION AND EXHAUST. I CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS ABOUT 1/2 A QUART LOW. I DROVE THE JEEP HOME AT THAT POINT AND PARKED IT. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A CRACK IN THE OIL COOLER HOUSING ASSEMBLY. SERVICE TECH EXPLAINED IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR MODEL AND THAT JEEP WAS AWARE OF IT. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT PRICING AND RECALLS THE TECH SAID IT WASN'T A RECALLED PART AND THE TOTAL REPAIR COST WOULD BE AROUND $1000.00. CONFUSED I CALLED AROUND TO OTHER JEEP OWNERS AS WELL AS OTHER AUTHORIZED JEEP REPAIR SHOPS AND WAS TOLD THIS. IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM BUT NOT COVERED UNDER ANY RECALL. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL TO COMMON FOR THERE NOT TO BE A RECALL. THE DANGER LIES IN THE FACT THAT HAD SOMEONE LESS KNOWLEDGEABLE BEEN DRIVING, FIRE COULD HAVE ERUPTED FROM THE LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL ON THE EXHAUST, ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO A SUDDEN LOSS OF OIL, AND NOT TO MENTION THE OIL THAT IS NOW RUNNING ONTO THE ROADWAY. AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AS WELL.
TAKARA RECALL, BUT NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX, AND DEALERS HAVE NO WAY TO ORDER THE NEW PART, FIX UNKNOWN TO THEM TO DATE. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, CAN CAUSE DEATH.
