Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Remedy Status
Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator and 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The instrument panel cluster may experience an internal short circuit and fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays."
Remedy Status
Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between October 3, 2024, and January 23, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 30B.
Chryler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The side marker lights may not function due to an incompatible tail light assembly wiring harness. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Remedy Status
FCA will replace the tail light assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 26, 2022 and August 3, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is Z43.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles equipped with 2.0L Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle engines. A loss of communication may cause an engine shutdown.
Remedy Status
There is more than one involved component and calibration software. Updating the calibration software in the Transmission Control Module, Hybrid Control Processor and Auxiliary Hybrid Control Processor that changes fail safe from shut down to limp home. Dealers will update the transmission control module software, Hybrid Control Processor and Auxiliary Hybrid Control Processor, free of charge. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler, and 2020-2023 Jeep Gladiator vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. The clutch pressure plate may overheat and fracture.
Remedy Status
Dealers will replace the clutch assembly and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed from November 16, 2023 through July 25, 2024. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 21V-028 will need to have the new remedy completed.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. A stud on the frame assembly may puncture the fuel tank in a crash, which can result in a fuel leak.
Remedy Status

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid Electric vehicles (PHEV). The high voltage (HV) battery pack assembly was built with incorrect fasteners to secure the 200-amp fuse, which can generate excessive heat.
Remedy Status
Dealers will inspect and replace the HV battery fuse, as necessary. Dealers will also inspect the battery assembly for damage and replace it, if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Chrysler (FCA US), LLC is recalling certain 2022-2023 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles equipped with a manual transmission. The rearview camera may fail to display the rearview image and the reverse lights may not illuminate when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Remedy Status

A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Remedy Status

Remedy Status
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. Subject Urgent Complaint – Recall Repair Delay for 2022 Jeep Wrangler I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of a recall repair for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler, specifically involving the electric battery system that powers the vehicle’s electric motor. While I understand the importance of safety recalls, the excessive delay in completing this repair has become unacceptable. My vehicle has been unavailable for an extended period, and I have not received a clear or reliable timeline for when the repair will be completed. This situation has caused significant disruption to my life. As a rideshare driver and professional traveling musician, dependable transportation is critical to my income. The delay has directly impacted my ability to work and earn a living. Furthermore, it has negatively affected my family life and overall quality of life due to limited mobility. I am requesting immediate action to address this matter, including: An expedited resolution and firm completion date for the recall repair A loaner vehicle or reimbursement for alternative transportation during the repair period, Consideration of financial compensation for lost income and inconvenience caused by this delay. I have made every effort to comply with recall procedures, and I expect the same level of responsibility and urgency from Stellantis/Chrysler. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will continue to escalate the matter through appropriate consumer protection channels. This is a known death wobble problem of jeep which i got while driving on highway with my family and could have got into an accident if would not control vehicle that time. My dealer is charger me for this issue which is costing me around 1200 usd and they are going to change the parts 1. Damper, Steering, 2. Tie rod end-outer-right or left for both sides. This is something which should have been covered under recall as its a serious safety issue.
I was involved in a collision. The front driver's side hit another car, causing a lot of damage. The surprise was the fire. There is no reason for it to have caught for the way it did. The door was jammed, so resorted to unhooking the soft top, while I caught fire. I opened the top and jumped off the top, crawling away with burns and cuts before the entire engine exploded. I could have still been in that car, and I don't think I would have made it.
Shortly after my second time getting the battery looked at for the 4XE recall my vehicle was very sluggish from a stopped position with the pedal fully pressed. After 5-10 seconds the vehicle lunges forward aggressively as it goes from electric to gas mode
Driving at highway speed (65-70mph) on curve with slight road surface deviation experienced the infamous "Death Wobble". Slowed to 45-50 mph before vehicle steering returned to normal. The steering dampener was previously replaced to fix the first time this happened. Apparently this is not a fox.
The issues lies in the Hybrid systems electric only function. When climbing grades, the vehicle experiences severe power loss which can be felt by the driver and is displayed by the vehicle on the dashboard information cluster. Power output from the hybrid system drops to or below 50% output even when pressing the accelerator to maximum. This issue occurs almost every time climbing a steep grade regardless of exterior temps. After losing speed and power on a steep grade while working the accelerator to or near maximum application the engine is activated abruptly without warning and without the proper hybrid warm up sequence and causes startling shifting by the powertrain and jerks the vehicle. This behavior began after Recall 68C was performed and hybrid Battery replacement.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. No warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The contact pulled over twice and drove 65 MPH on the way to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering damper and tie rod needed to be replaced. The steering damper and tie rod were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. However, the failure reoccurred several times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,998.
DEATH WOBBLE repeatedly while traveling on the highway at speeds above 60 MPH. Where is a terrain surface change, asphalt to bridge or and seam in the road cause a violent shaking of the front of the car. This has happened multiple times. I took the car to a car repair, there was no visual issues seen, but the repair people told me they no longer buy Jeeps as their personal vehocle because of the death wobble. They did not recommend a sway bar because in their experience it did not correct the issue.
I do believe the part that is failing on the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is the “Steering Dampner” and anyone at anytime is MORE than welcome to look at and inspect touched or feel it. This is SAFETY RISK has the entire vehicle starts to shake and wobble uncontrollably and without warning. If not for quick reflexes we would have been in a chain reaction crash. Was able to release gas and coast to under 50mph making lots of people behind me unhappy. The dealer said he repaired dampner when we had 4,000 miles, now again at 16,700 miles it’s back and we almost ended upside down in a river. Either Jeep or NHTSA must need people to die before they can make truly effective repairs or just remove this model form inventory. I believe it has to be more than just a dampner and the front suspension parts should all be looked at. There was ABSOLUTELY no warnings, lights, sounds, or indication that we were almost plunged to our death. Angels had to be riding with us. Let’s get this fixed!! PLEASE
We took the car in for the death shake and were informed there was a recall on the Jeep (25V741000). The dealership performed the maintenance work. The 12V battery was also inspected and listed as good. Since the repair, the 12V battery has shorted multiple times and finally ceased running yesterday. It has been two weeks since the dealership recall repair. While the recall specifically impacted the HV battery, the 12V is interconnected and the liklihood of that battery being impacted is high. The safety impact is the car temporarily not being able to gain power after stopping at red lights and the battery draining when stopped or turned off. The check engine light appears every time.
On 3/3/2026, I brought me JEEP 4XE to the Jeep dealership in Paris, Kentucky to have the 68C recall performed. The Jeep dealership used version #7 of the 68C recall instructions to updated all software modules and then to perform a 7 mile test run to engage the electric engine and to stress the vehicle per the instructions documented in the recall instructions. Document is identified as: * High Voltage Battery * Reference: 68C/NHTSA 25V-741 * Revision: 7 * Edition: February 2026 * Details: Additional DTC added to the end of Section B. BPCM software update After picking vehicle up from dealership, I proceeded home via a state highway Route 68 (Paris Pike). The roadway is a 4 lane divided highway and has a speed limit of 55mph. I set my vehicle to HYBRID mode and then placed it on cruise control as I had done numerous times over its 25,000 miles. During the drive there were occasional rolling hills and inclines. I gauged the hills to be about a 1% grade on average but never exceeding 2% grade. During these inclines, the gasoline engine engaged and the RPM gauge on the instrument cluster registered 3000RPM. This excessive engine RPM had NEVER occurred before the 68C factory recall procedure. In all other instances of the engine engaging, the RPM would engage at 2000RPM. I contend that the the engagement of the gasoline engine on these small inclines was NOT warranted and that the excessive RPM's of 3000 is not normal and was never experienced prior to the 68C recall fix. I am submitting this information for review and documentation. Video of the instrument cluster gauge showing the RMP gauage and the display panel showing the engine and battery kW used were taken to document the process. I believe that the engagement of the gasoline engine at 3000RPM will cause excessive wear of the engine and is a direct result of one of the software updates that was used to complete the 68C recall.

We have had the death wobble happen several times when driving. It was so violently shaking we tried to stop quick on a 75 mph hiway. Very dangerous and scary. This has happened many times over the last month. Had wheels realignment and new shocks. Still happening
Vehicle communication failures. One point unable to start the vehicle. Then the wipers and all warning lights came on without being able to turn the vehile off. Had to disconnect both batteries while the wipers destroyed themselves on a dry windshield. This is also causing a Service Shifter warning light then total loss of power steering while driving down the road at any speed. This includes highway speeds. Dealer replaced power steering system with no resolution. Thousands of dollars in repair. Dealer stated they repaired wiring. Did not fix the issue. Now it is more intermittent. When the communication between modules is not functioning properly it disables the power steering even while driving. This is extremely dangerous and I can no longer trust my vehicle. There are thousands of reports and or reviews about this issue. Someone has to be held accountable. I have spent thousands and my Dealer spent weeks trying to resolve the issue. Jeep has roughly 37000 miles. This is an on going issue since October of 2025.
After 68C recall fix in January, the following has occurred: -Check engine light on immediately -Replaced electric coolant heater -Sluggish in both hybrid and electric modes -FORM indicators - constant fuel oil refresh mode -Change oil required indicator on -Engine revving high at low speeds -Jumping when putting into drive / idling / shifting issues --Replaced all 4 shocks And just yesterday on 2/27/26: Complete and total loss of power while driving on the highway. Major safety issue and a near crash.
We had a recent recall completed for the hybrid battery/charging sytem where a software update was all that was required. Two weeks after a recall for the hybrid battery/charging system was completed, while traveling, we had a loss of power at 70mph in heavy traffic, and our vehicle stopped operating. We were able to limp our vehicle to the right shoulder, and was stranded on the side of I-75 south in GA, approximately 200 miles from home. The dash lights began flashing on and off, the various systems began flasing warnings and there was a burning smell of plastic. We discovered one of the electric lines attached to the fuse block in the engine compartment had melted at the terminal junction on the fuse block. This rendered us incapable of moving our vehicle. We had to call for a tow truck to have the vehicle taken to a shop. Our daughter had to come from 6 hours away to pick us up. Currently, 02/20/26, the shop that has our vehicle, is trying to get a replacement fuse block and determine if this is part of the recall that should have fixed our original recall issue.
There is a class action lawsuit for 2021-2023 Jeeps where the power steering catches fire. That happened to us.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the high voltage battery software update was performed; however, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start three days later. The message " Service Charging System" was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a 12-Volt battery failure. The contact stated that upon researching the failure online, the contact learned from other vehicle owners that other recalled vehicles had experienced the 12-Voltsbattery failure after the high voltage battery software update was performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that after using the remote starter to start the vehicle, the front window defroster was activated, and approximately 10 minutes later, the contact discovered that the front windshield had developed a 5-inch crack in the center of the windshield. The contact stated that moments later, while driving, the crack expanded to approximately 12-inches towards the driver’s side. The contact stated that the crack was in the direct field of view of the driver, creating a visibility hazard. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 22,000.
My Jeep Wrangler 4xe underwent Safety Recall 68C, which included high-voltage battery replacement and associated electrical system work. The vehicle was held at the Jeep dealership for approximately one month for completion of this recall. After being notified that Recall 68C was completed, I picked up the vehicle. Immediately upon pickup, I experienced electrical issues that were not present prior to the recall. Specifically, the passenger-side power running board failed to retract. The service manager accessed the area under the dashboard and restored operation, stating it was likely related to the battery replacement or electrical work performed during the recall. Upon driving the vehicle, I also noticed the steering wheel was not centered when driving straight, and the front end appeared visually misaligned. Less than 24 hours after pickup, while driving at approximately 65 mph on the freeway, the vehicle experienced sudden and violent steering oscillation consistent with death wobble. This required me to immediately pull over for safety. The vehicle had no prior history of death wobble, steering instability, or electrical running board issues before Recall 68C was performed. Due to the severity of the condition, the vehicle was towed back to the Jeep dealership for further inspection.
