I took my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Unlimited into the dealership for the recall to be fixed and oil/filter change with tire rotation. I drove my vehicle to the dealer and after being there for 3.5 hours I am informed my vehicle no longer starts/turns over. I have a loaner vehicle with no solution in sight. Upon reading other 4XE owners statements that had the same issue. Upon resetting the software they have multiple trips with the same issue of the engine stalling. I DO NOT want my children in a vehicle that is NOT running properly. This will put others in danger as well, if my engine fails going down the interstate, it can cause a wreck.
Car experiences what is called a "death wobble" when it goes over a small bump in the road. The steering wheel shakes uncontrollably. Happens when traveling between 40 and 50 mph. I loose complete control of the vehicle. I've taken the car to two experts who both confirmed the problem which started without warning or symptoms about mid May 2023.
The interior door handle is very sharp and cut my finger.
I know about the recall on my clutch.. but I’ve been smelling that burning clutch smell at different times…My jeep has the software update but dealer says there’s no fix at This time…is it ok to keep driving
I was driving on the highway at a speed of 70 miles and suddenly I lost total control of my vehicle I lost my engine and without electricity nothing worked I was close to having an accident
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power steering and the power assist braking was inoperable. The contact stated that there was a warning chime and a notification to shift to park(P). The contact had the vehicle towed to the residence and recharged the battery and filled the fuel tank due to the low fuel warning light being illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer and was informed that the vehicle had run out of gasoline. The contact stated that failure reoccurred, and he had the vehicle towed to a different dealer. The contact was informed by the dealer that the vehicle had run out of gasoline. The contact researched online and found that the auxiliary battery would not recharge and would drain the electrical system causing the vehicle to shut down and stall. The contact took the vehicle to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V865000 (Engine). The contact stated that he was still experiencing the failure with the hybrid system. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,500.
In April 2023 I was advised via a letter from Mopar of an important recall concerning the “High Pressure Fuel Pump” in my 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The correspondence warned that a failure of the fuel pump could result in a catastrophic crash without prior warning. The letter also indicated that “a remedy for this condition is not currently available”. Having not heard from the manufacturer for several months after receiving the recall notice, I contacted the recall hotline in July to request an update. The agent I spoke with indicated that parts to address the recall are not yet available, and she was unable to provide me with an estimated timeframe for the repair. The lack of a remedy, despite the implied severity of this recall, leaves me deeply concerned with the safety of my car. I rely on my vehicle for daily transportation and feel as though I’m taking a risk driving it. The car is less than one year old and has only 6378 miles on the odometer.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V263000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
We have 2 2022 Jeep vehicles with the EcoDiesel engines in them (a Gladiator and Wrangler) that we purchased in 2022. I am filing a case for each of them on this site. In April 2023 there was a recall of the fuel pump on the 3.0 EcoDiesel and to date the problem has not been rectified for either of my vehicles. We have made notification to the dealership that we want to get this done but they say they do not have the parts in stock to do it. The dealership said they only get 1 fuel pump a month to replace and we are waiting and have been waiting for about a year since we notified the dealership for this safety issue to be rectified. I am filing this complaint as directed by the NHTSA website because I feel this issue has not been handled in a timely fashion and I believe that it is irresponsible of Jeep to not rectify this in a much quicker fashion. Each time we call the dealership we are told they do not know when it will be rectified.
Last night while driving home. My rear window blew up. It sounded like a car back fire. Left my ears ringing it was so loud. The glass shattered in a million pieces and the gas struts were hanging out. Nothing hit it, it just blew up.
Jan/2023 at 55mph, a vehicle swerved into my lane which required immediate braking. Applying the brake, the Jeep engine surged, and Jeep would not slow down. I reapplied brake and initially it didn't slow my vehicle. After re-reapplying the brakes, the Jeep responded to the braking. On Mar 28, 2023 traveling approximately 20 mph in a vehicle round-about, following a pickup truck which was two car lengths ahead of me and suddenly the pickup stopped for a pedestrian. I applied my brakes on my 2022 Jeep Wrangler and the engine surged, the Jeep sped forward, I reapplied the brake but my Jeep wouldn't stop until it crashed into the rear of the pickup. There was no damage to my Jeep but some rear bumper damage to the pickup. During both incidents the ESS (Engine Start/Stop) was disabled.
DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES AN HOUR. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR START SLOWING DOWN UNTIL THE GAS PEDAL WAS DOING NOTHING.I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE ROAD AND TURN THE CAR OFF. AND AGAIN MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET THE GAS WORK AGAIN.
I was driving the car normally and it completely shut down while moving. I safely pulled over and I was able to restart it. I then received a text message warning from the vehicle Uconnect system, error was "A charge fault has occurred for your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe" This seems to be a very common complaint when I googled the error message.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while operating the vehicle and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating and failed to immediately respond as needed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but had occurred while making a turn within a busy intersection and while merging into freeway traffic. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure or determine the cause of the failure. In addition, the contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the transmission shifter would not shift from park(P) and the vehicle could not be driven. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who replaced the 12-volt battery, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.
On 3/1/23 my wife was driving our 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4XE at highway speed in the middle of a 3-lane highway. When the Jeep ran out of electric battery and transitioned to hybrid mode the engine completely shut down and she had almost no time to make it from the middle lane to the side of the highway without accident. Multiple cars and large semis had to break suddenly to avoid rear-ending the Jeep. After getting to the side of the highway the Jeep would not restart or shift to neutral. An extremely dangerous situation and thankfully the police showed up to divert traffic. With all of this said, I took my Jeep to the dealer in December 2022 to fix the loss of motive power recall (ZB7), and from this most recent experience, that recall fix either did not work or Jeep should issue another recall. An extremely dangerous situation when the Jeep shuts off at highway speed with no advance warning. Called JeepWave customer service on 3/1 and case #85607518 was opened with the promise that a Jeep case manager will reach out in 2-3 days to address my safety concerns. My Jeep is currently at the dealership and fingers crossed that when/if I get it back this does not happen again. We feel very lucky with the outcome as it could have been much worse with speeds decreasing from 65 MPH to 0 with no advance warning.
My new 2022 Jeep Wrangler was shipped with 20 inch Bridgestone Dueller tires. These tires caused severe front end shake and vibration to the point of losing control of my vehicle at approx 60 MPH on several occasions. I brought my Jeep to the Dealer where it was purchased and was told this was a known problem with these tires.Further I was told the ONLY solution was to replace the factory tires with Wrangler KO2’s or another similar tire with more than 4 ply tires like the Dueller. The dealer said Jeep knows it is a problem but would not pay to solve the problem. These new tires were installed and the problem was resolved and cost nearly $1,700. Jeep blames Bridgestone yet it is a known problem and new Jeeps are still being sold with these tires. Jeep factory wrote it was my problem. I have an email from them telling me these details.
UNKNOWN. This recall has been on my vehicle for approximately a year and a half, with no fix. I have not parked my vehicle in my garage due to fear of the pressure plate in the clutch catching on fire.
This is the 5th complaint I have called into JEEP directly as well as 2 different dealerships. My car is shutting down randomly on the highway. I was notified that it was "fixed" with a software update. This is a current recall that the dealership has said was "fixed". However they refuse to call a star tech or a field tech which JEEP service said was required at this point. I have tried to have this issue fixed multiple times with no positive outcome. Today again my entire JEEP shut down on the highway as I was getting on. I merely tapped the break to allow anther drive to merge and the entire car completely stopped. I personally hit the steering wheel and my dog almost hit the windshield if the bar was not there he would have. The are aware of the severity of the issue and don't believe anything is wrong. I am contacting an attorney for Lemon Law at this point as the vehicle is clearly dysfunctional
On February 14, 2023, as I was driving home from work at 4:30 pm, and luckily stopped at a traffic light, my Jeep shut down and showed a charging fault while I was nowhere near a charger. I was eventually able to restart the vehicle and make it the rest of the way home. We had the software updated, so hopefully that does not happen again. I was about halfway between my place of work and my home, which are about 8 mailes apart. My vehicle had 5373 miles on it at the time of the incident. Now my car is yet again under recall at risk of fire due to the battery and I am scared to drive it and have it near my home.
The component that failed was the steering damper. This results in the vehicle violently shaking at freeway speeds after hitting a bump. This has resulted in me having to pull over to get the issue to stop on multiple occasions. In addition, it can be difficult to keep control of the vehicle when this is happening and there is no set way to make it stop once it has begun. It is unpredictable, as it happens sometimes and does not others. One big danger is that it occurs most often when traveling at higher speeds. The vehicle is currently at the dealership getting fixed for the same issue. This is the 5th time that it has been taken in for the same issue. The component has failed 4 times since I got the car 3 years ago. I have taken the car to the dealership 5 times for the same issue. The first time I brought the car in for the issue, they replaced several parts, but not the steering damper. Within a month I brought the car back in for the same issue. Each time since then, they have replaced the steering damper along with other parts (Invoices will be attached to this report with part names and numbers). Each time the vehicle was taken in to the dealership, the mechanics were able to reproduce the issue. This is documented on each invoice I received. No warning lamps, messages, or any other warning signs were present prior to the issue occurring. The issue first occurred in February of 2023 (10 months after purchasing the car new). It was taken to the dealership for the first time on February 10, 2023. It was brought in for the repeated issue on March 9, 2023, March 18, 2024, March 14, 2025, and most recently on September 23, 2025.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH in the middle lane of a highway, an unknown warning light was illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stated that the control buttons became inoperable. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road with the assistance of a Police Officer and coasted to a parking lot. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who informed the contact that parts for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V768000 (Electrical System) were on a national back order. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised as the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
led headlights are not hot enough to keep snow melted off headlights. Jeep design has headlights in a recessed hole, so the snow sticks to headlights and does not blow off. The light is covered in snow and reduces visibility by 90%. This has been extremely dangerous as I have had to stop every mile to 2 miles to clean off manually in order to see. Why is this not a recall? This seems far more dangerous than many other recalls that I have seen. What can be done about this?
Most importantly, this occurred about 7 days AFTER the NHTSA 22V-865 recall for this issue was performed. Driving rural paved road at approximately 35 mph. Vehicle abruptly lost all motive power and went to electric only mode with a top speed of about 3-4 mph showing a red turtle icon on dash and “Service Hybrid Electrical Vehicle System” and “Service Charging System” messages. After stopping to investigate, vehicle could not be shifted out of park or moved. Vehicle required tow for repair A few hours before this occurred, vehicle experienced two short intervals of similar loss of power, both of which abated within less than a few seconds. Most concerning is that this occurred after recall 22V-865 was performed, indicating that the safety issue is unresolved by that recall or is an independent issue. Total and unanticipated loss of power creates a safety issue in our hilly and populated terrain.
The Vehicle shakes radically after going over a bump. After pulling over, the suspension normalizes.
I have a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with the LED lighting package. I live in the mountains of Colorado and my first heavy wet snowstorm I drove home in at night on my dangerous windy tight canyon road home the headlights as well as the factory fog lights got completely covered in snow and ice to the point were I had to pull over about 10 times on my 10 mile drive home to clear the lights off as they got so covered that the light was completely gone to the point of not being able to see anything...not the reflectors on the side of the road or anything at all. I've never seen anything like it. Even though you can see dim light through the snow and ice the actual light emitted in this state is unusable. I risked getting hit every time I had to stop in the middle of the road (no shoulders just a cliff to the river below and cliff walls on the other side) to clear the lights off to get another straightaway down the road. This was terrifying and I think Jeep and Stelantis should recall these lights and replace them with Heated units like cars in Europe are mandated to have. This is such a safety issue and my solution will be to install some aftermarket old school halogens but this should still be addressed because somebody could get killed in their first bad snowstorm with these lights. They work fantastic in most conditions but when in a bad snowstorm these lights are totally useless and it is not safe to stop in the middle of the road when no shoulder exists to clear these lights over and over. Please address this and hopefully other people have filed complaints over this as well, I can't believe I'm the only one and the Jeep forums are full of threads about this! Thanks for any help on this. Please let me know if you need more info.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the vehicle made an independent and unintended stop. The service charging system, the battery warning light, and the key not detected message was displayed. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts and the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer stated that no failure was found. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 1,649.

The vehicle is a 2022 Jeep wrangler with less than 6800 miles and is completely stock as delivered by the factory. On 12/17/2022 I was driving my 2022 completely stock (unmodified) Jeep Wrangler 4x4 on a paved city street at approximately 55 mph. Suddenly, without any warning whatsoever, the vehicle began violently shaking and the steering wheel was pulled out of my control. I was barely able to control the Jeep and the violent shacking was extremely difficult to control and keep in my lane. The vehicle continued shaking until I was able to come to a complete stop. This incident occurred In traffic, at 55 mph, and without warning. Vehicle’s behind me also had to emergency brake due to my panic and cars in the opposite lane had to swerve as the violent shaking caused my car to to cross into oncoming traffic. I contacted the Jeep dealer who I bought the car from and they were TOTALLY AWARE of the problem and called it “DEATH WOBBLE.” Dealer further stated they have no way of guaranteeing they can fix it. Please investigate this! Someone is going to die. This is totally unacceptable and should be stopped! I am now without a car and Jeep/Chrysler continue to sell these cars with full knowledge of this ongoing DANGER. I will never trust this vehicle. This vehicle has never been taken off-road or involved in an accident. I have never been late on a payment. I am stuck with a vehicle that has a known, severely dangerous problem. Please investigate this. I am lucky to be alive. Upon reviewing this incident on the net there are numerous complaints of DEATH WOBBLE, numerous. This problem is terrifying! Please investigate and stop this company from knowingly putting people in danger for PROFITS!
Recently experienced the "death wobble" on a high speed highway. My entire car started wobbling and seemed like I lost balance in all 4 wheels. Dealership claimed it was a defective steering wheel damper, in which is the steering stabilizer. This is so dangerous, especially going at a high speed on the freeway. This can potentially cause a huge accident. Please help recall.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced; however, the replacement part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

The steering becomes lose when hitting small bumps at highway speeds. Vehicle must be slowed below speed limit in order to regain control.
Engine shut down condition caused by diagnostic reactions to faults caused by communication of the car. Motive power has been lost while driving. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or any authority. I have contacted manufacturer and dealership and they have not offered any options since this is a recall issue that has no solution or parts available they told me to wait it out. Therefore I am now paying for a car that is not safe to drive and these concerns have not been fixed or addressed by manufacture.
12/03/2022 Was backing up. Went to put the vehicle into DRIVE to move forward. Vehicle locked itself into NEUTRAL on the gearshift, but acted as if it was in PARK. Was blocking a road, could not move or shift into gear. Eventually, was able to shift into "auto-stick" M1 and move the vehicle, then it went into DRIVE. Was able to proceed as normal.
My 2022 Wrangler Hybrid only has 6500 miles on it and it had two significant/scary events. First, the motor cut out while driving on the expressway. Fortunately I was able to pull all the way over and start it up again but it was dangerous and scary. Second, and most significant, my vehicle experienced the "death wobble." When you travel over 60mph and hit a bump, the entire vehicle wobbles so much that the wheels and steering are nearly uncontrollable. This happened to me 20 times while driving my vehicle one day. It was terrifying for me and my passenger and I was even pulled over by other concerned drivers on the road. My vehicle has now been in repairs for over 2 weeks because the part to fix the vehicle is backordered. I no longer have confidence in this vehicle, it scares me to drive it and yet the manufacturer won't take it back because lemon laws don't apply, yet (has to be 30 days in service). I don't want this to happen to other drivers. Please investigate Jeep and keep people safe.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle experienced the death wobble while driving over bumps on the highway. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact made a local dealer aware of the failure when the vehicle was previously taken in for recall repairs; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was recurring when driving over bumps at highway speeds. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
Driving in weather from -4C to 0C with medium snow coming down. Normally not a problem at all. Was with a friend in a ram 1500 2019. We both had stock LED headlights. Within approximately 5-10 minutes the snow flakes directly Infront of the car but above the hood height got brighter and brighter even though my High beams were off. My headlights also lacked any beam distance at all. I was forced to reduce speed to 10 miles per hour unless other cars headlight were illuminating the area Infront of my car. My friend was still able to go 40mph safely and comfortably. Traffic was passing me constantly on the snowy road due to my inability to go a reasonable speed and having nowhere safe to stop. Upon stopping I found a caked layer of snow on both headlights complete diffusing their beam into every direction including vertically up into the snowflakes that had been so disruptive to my ability to see. On the remainder of the drive home I had to stop Every 15 minutes (5 times) to clear the snow from the lenses. The diffusion of the beam also meant that while my beams were less bright, they were always in the eyes of oncoming traffic and I would regularly get flashed with high beams to let me know.
I was driving a longer distance from Las Vegas Nevada to California Victor Ville and was coming down in speed and vehicle claimed a sudden stop in power and turned off. After a min of attempting to pull into a close parking lot the Jeep 4xe alarms were going on and off uncontrollably with zero power or capability to shutting off. After a few times of attempting to turn the jeep on and off and no success i got out of my vehicle, disconnected the battery and reconnected it. We were on the freeway with our infant in the back seat and on a thanksgiving trip back home. We just thought it was random until a recall lawyer reached out about our post on it and mentioned this is a lethal and serious issue. At this moment, we are not driving it as we seen a news channel mention this issue. I say this with the tone of seeking a new solution that is not in this death trap… We as a family would like to find a way to get a refund and away from this completely. We do not feel safe, we just bought this vehicle a month ago.
While driving my vehicle shut off and steering wheel locked up making the vehicle inoperable. Thankfully I was close to home on a side street. I restarted the vehicle and a “please service charging system error” displayed along with a red turtle error light. The vehicle would not travel more than 5mph. I had to park it and have my husband come look at it. It’s scary to think this could have easily happened on a busy highway. Being a hybrid vehicle it was fully charged from the night before.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shook excessively. The failure was described as the death wobble. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and several cases were filed. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH over a shift in the pavement between the end of the road surface and a bridge, the steering wheel started shuddering violently. The contact stated that as she depressed the brake pedal and veered to the side of the road the failure stopped. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the failure had been reoccurring 5-7 times per day. The contact stated that the failure would occur while driving over minor changes in the road surface. The local dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she needed to pay for a diagnostic test, because the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
I was driving on the highway in the middle of rush hour traffic going about 60 mph and my car went in to auto shut off mode with no warning.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started to wobble. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where all four tires were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 350.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH, the vehicle was shaking and then lost motive power. The failure caused the vehicle to drive off the roadway. Additionally, the vehicle overheated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the water pump and water filter were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle overheated and failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the cylinder head, spark plugs, engine oil filter, and several other unknown parts were replaced. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it remained unrepaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
