Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2007 Lexus ES350. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. The contact stated that the mileage on the title was 0 at the time of the purchase; however, the mileage was 114,536. The Carfax report indicated that the mileage was 172,523.
I was driving and my car has a certain jerking motion to it, as I tried to break and accelerate the car wasn’t able to stop or move properly. As a result I rear ended the car in front of me. In addition to that my airbag wouldn’t go off after the accident so it seems like there was a malfunction. Lexus always assured me that all system ran well and that there was nothing wrong with the car. I made all necessary repairs they told me to make a despite my questions about the car being fully functional, they still didn’t warn me and told me that my car was fine every time I took it in or got work done on my car.
While entering into a parking spot the car suddenly surged, went over a curb, and crashed into a store front. The driver had her foot on the brake. We checked to see if the floor mat was against the accelerator and it was not. I have a photo of the mat.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2007 Lexus ES350. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 113,000. It was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was approximately 160,000. The contact stated that the dealer informed him that the prior owner had manipulated the odometer.
Dashboard and window seals are melting. Dashboard melting is causing a huge glare in windshield during the day. Window seals are melting onto my windows causing excessive scuffing on the windows affecting ability to see in my blind spots

Car suddenly accelerated while entering the home garage at a very low speed causing damage to house and car
Both headlights turn off randomly and sometimes at the same time. Sometimes the brightness lowers. I have had both ballasts and bulbs changed and the problem persists. In my research, it appears that many 2007 Lexus ES 350 owners have had and still have this very dangerous problem. This problem has been ongoing for well over a year. The reason is UNKNOWN by me.
My dashboard is turning into a liquid. Florida heat has effected this vehical since purchase. Currently my visability is through windshield is serverly affected. Since a large portion of the dash is liquid under a black dashboard it is reflecting onto my windshield serverly limiting my viewing the road and traffic. This is a known problem needing an immediate solution. Thank you for any immediate action you take on this matter.
The dashboard on my car is melting/shiny/sticky. I have tried many things to get it to stop reflecting on my windshield, but nothing helps. I contacted Lexus and this is an identified known concern for this vehicle and a bulletin has been issued, but the bulletin has expired. The reflection impairs visibility anytime the sun is out or lights at night reflect on the dashboard. I am concerned for my safety and my children’s safety in a vehicle that is known for reliability and longevity.
I was driving and my car speed start going down and I saw engine and battery light came on so I pulled over and turned off the car and try to turn it back on but it's not turning on.
The contact owns a 2007 Lexus ES350. The contact stated that the dashboard had started to melt due to sun exposure and there was an abnormal burning plastic odor inside the vehicle. The contact also stated that there was a glare coming from the melting dashboard obstructing the contact's vision while driving. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer and the dealer were informed of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Lexus ES350. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH the dashboard was sticky with a glare and shiny. The contact stated the material caused visibility issues. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was repaired before for TSB: L-SB-0011-15 however the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, was not of assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.
This is a second report of unexpected, unanticipated extremly high acceleration while braking. I reported this experience in November 2019, NHTSA Complaint Number 11279155. At that time, the car was moving and I was braking on an uphill curve. On October 10, 2021, at approx 12:30 p.m. The unexpected, unanticipated extremely high acceleration occurred as I was starting my car in a Pittsburgh area restaurant parking lot. The car requires that my foot be on the brake while starting. The car was in Park when I depressed the start button. Immediately the car started with extremely high revolutions to the point the loud engine noise frightened several individuals standing 15-20 feet on an adjacent sidewalk. The tachometer was in or close to the redzone. I immediately shut the engine down. At no time did I have my foot on the accelerator and neither the floor mat nor any other item was touching the accelerator.
Where my steering connects to the rack pinion it is very loose at that connection and causes the vehicle to be unsafe to drive. The mechanic states that the 2007 es 350 is a common problem with the part mentioned
Smoke started coming out of hood when returning home. Opened hood to check engine and choked on smoke. After engine cooled, found VVT-I tube is leaking at lower end of rubber hose. Engine oil had accumulated around engine compartment aft, a bit foward of VVT-i tube, and to passenger side. Searched Internet and saw that LSC-90K oil line "campaign" has the exact same part that is part of campaign that failed on my engine, but my VIN is not part of campaign.

THE FRONT TIMING COVER SEAL ON MY CAR WAS RESEALED AT 105,124 MILES @ A COST OF $2,804.52 PLUS TAX ON NOVEMBER 2014. THE CAR WAS 8 YEARS OLD. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT THE TIMING COVER NEEDS TO BE RESEALED/REPLACED AGAIN. THE CAR HAD 160,830 MILES WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE ON 5/3/2021. BY THE WAY, THE SERVICE ADVISER WROTE THE WRONG MILEAGE. HE MISTAKENLY WROTE 168,036 MILES AS THE ODOMETER READING. WHEN I ASKED WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE HE HAD NO ANSWER. I CONTACTED LEXUS CUSTOMER SERVICE TO INQUIRE INTO WHAT CAUSES THE SEAL TO NEED REPLACEMENT EVERY 7 OR SO YEARS. CASE # 210506001409 WAS ASSIGNED. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CALLED TODAY AND INFORMED ME THAT THE SERVICE MANAGER AT CROWN LEXUS IN ONTARIO INFORMED HER THE SEALER SHRINKS OVERTIME. HOWEVER, SHE COULD NOT PROVIDE A REASON FOR THE SHRINKAGE. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT CAUSES THIS SO I CAN DECIDE WHETHER TO CONTINUE PUTTING MONEY INTO THIS CAR. THIS DOES SEEM RIGHT TO ME. I THINK IT IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I SIMPLY NEED TO KNOW WHY THEY CONTINUE TO USE SEALERS THAT THEY KNOW WILL SHRINK. THE NEW COST TO REPAIR THIS CAR IS APPROXIMATELY $3500. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON DID NOT KNOW THE NAME OF THE SEALER THAT WAS BEING USED. SHE COULD ONLY REFER ME TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER AND I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE TALKING TO HIM ABOUT THIS BECAUSE HE GAVE HER NO REAL EXPLANATION OTHER THAN IT SHRINKS. OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR CARS. IF I HAVE CONTACTED THE WRONG OFFICE PLEASE DIRECT TO ME TO SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP. BY THE WAY, I ASKED FOR A WRITTEN RESPONSE AND WAS TOLD SHE COULD NOT PROVIDE ONE.
I OWN A 2007 LEXUS ES 350. I OWN THE CAR SINCE 2010. THE DASHBOARD OF THE CAR IS MELTED AND CRACKED. I CONTACTED A LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TO TOLD TO CONTACT THE HEADQUARTER. I CALLED THE HEADQUARTER (800) 255-3987 AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY CAN NOT HELP ME. HEADQUARTER SAYS IT IS KNOWN ISSUE BUT THE WARRANTY ENDED IN MAY 2017. THEY SAYS A LETTER REGARDING THE ISSUE WAS SENT OUT. I NEVER RECEIVED THAT LETTER. THEY NOW HAVE ANOTHER WARRANTY COVERAGE BUT IT COVERS FROM YEAR 2018 AND THE WARRANTY EXPIRES THIS MARCH 2021. I CALLED THE LEXUS HEADQUARTER BUT THEY CAN NOT HELP ME BECAUSE OF THE MODEL YEAR. THERE IS A BIG GLARE FROM THE MELTED DASH AND IT APPEARS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD SINCE THE DASH IS CRACKED. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO CHECK WITH THE COMPANY IF THIS COULD BE REPLACED. I HAVE SUBMITTED A CLAIM TO THE OFFICE OF ATTORNEY GENERAL ON 2/10/21 FILE#11044300.OCP AND I WAS NOTIFIED TO CONTACT YOUR OFFICE. THANK YOU
LEXUS ISSUED A TECH BULLETIN IN 2011 STATING THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE DASHBOARDS MELTING AND THE GLARE FROM THE SUN WAS BLINDING DRIVERS. TOLD DEALERS TO REPLACE THEM WHEN ASKED. EXTENDED THE CAMPAIGN THRU 5/2017, BUT DID NOT INFORM CUSTOMERS. CAMPAIGN EXPIRED WITH A LOT OF DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS DASHBOARDS STILL OUT THERE. THE SMELL IS ALSO MAKING PEOPLE SICK. LEXUS WILL NOT REPLACE MY DASHBOARD.
MY DASHBOARD IS SO SHINNY I HAVE TO GET OFF THE INTERSTATE IF THE SUN IS FACING ME. MY LOCAL ATLANTA DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME ABOUT MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAD RECALL ......BUT DID NOT INFORM ME ABOUT THE DASH RECALL. I FELT BETRAYED AND CALLED LEXUS CORPORATE WITH NO RESULTS. WHY IS NOT A SYSTEM ON PLACER TO NOTIFY OWNERS WHEN A RECALL IS ISSUED BY CORPORATE INSTEAD OF THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP? MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS HENNESSY LEXUS OF ATLANTA.
IT ISN'T BAD ENOUGH THAT TOYOTA CORP SOLD ME A DASHBOARD ON MY 2007 LEXUS ES350 THAT MELTS IN THE SUNLIGHT, BUT AS IT MELTS IT LEAVES A DANGEROUS SHINY RESIDUE THAT IMPAIRS MY ABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
THE ISSUE THAT I AM HAVING WITH MY 2007 LEXUS ES 350 IS WHILE IM IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY OR STREET BOTH OF MY HEADLIGHTS WILL SHUT OFF. I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH OFF THEN ON AGAIN AND THATS WHEN THEY WILL COME BACK ON, IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES THE LEFT HEADLIGHT WILL TURN OFF AND THE RIGHT STAYS ON AND VICE VERSA FOR THE RIGHT OR BOTH. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I NEEDED THE HEADLAMP REPLACED BUT ONCE I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE WITH THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE I REALIZED THERE ARE NUMEROUS OF INDIVIDUALS HAVING THE SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE WITH HAVING THE HEADLAMPS REPLACE THE ISSUE STILL REMAINS THE HEADLAMPS SHUT OFF COMPLETELY INHIBITING THE VIEW OF THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE BECAUSE OF THIS. IVE REPLACED HEADLIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES AND IT STILL HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE!!!

THE DASHBOARD IS COMPLETELY CRACKED. IT LOOKS LIKE A BROKEN GLASS PANE.
Issue number one the dashboard the steering wheel and the clutch handle for automatic or manual melts it gets extremely hot and slippery it burns no matter if you cover your car or anything it melts and the glare from it is very dangerous when the Sun hits the windshield while driving it makes it look like a mirror form I'm not the only one who complains about this issue because why does the dashboard melts and create a dangerous flare with glare excuse the heating and cooling seats I believe also I'm not sure if it's causing condensation because it's connected to the AC which is also an issue no matter how much you get it fixed like I'm not sure if the blend door actuator gets stuck but a lot of people complain about that too because I'm not the only one with that issue 3 the gas pedal gets stuck no matter how many treatments and maintenance and services you get done with your car that's still dangerous because I was driving one day on the highway and my pedal got stuck while driving I keep my car in tip top shape have evidence and all. The light fixtures also is an issue I'm not sure if they're supposed to go down no matter how many lights and replacements you do they still become dim which is dangerous at night while driving in the woods or on dark paths 4 the fuel system they tell to use premium gas which is 91 but then the dealers take to use 87 which causes a stalling on the I believe transmission which is also another faulty issue cuz no matter how many times you replace everything is still very faulty I ran into a lot of people and Friends who have the same issue and again I'm a person who take care of my car and 5 last but not least all the windows and sunroof keep opening which I didn't know was that supposed to be a feature.

THE TRANSMISSION WON'T SHIFT PASSED 3RD GEAR. I TRIED DRIVING ONE DAY AND THAT'S WHAT IT BEGIN DOING. THE OIL WAS AT THE CORRECT LEVELS AND IT STILL BEHAVED THAT WAY. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS EVER SINCE.

ON THUR NOV 6, 2009, AT APPROX 6:00 PM., I WAS DRIVING ON A WET COUNTRY LANE IN WEXFORD, PA. DRIVING SLOWLY, LESS THAN 15 MPH ON AN UP HILL CURVE, I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND SHORTLY AFTERWARD THE ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY AND UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED CAUSING MY CAR TO SWERVE TO THE LEFT AND INTO SHRUBBERY ADJACENT TO THE LANE. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE FLOOR MAT WAS ANCHORED. AUTO DAMAGE IS MINOR LIMITED TO LEFT FRONT BUMPER, EST AT $1,000-$1,500 DAMAGE.
I BOUGHT A LEXUS ES 350 2007 ON OCTOBER 11TH 2019 A FEW DAYS LATER I NOTICED IT WAS A BIG GLARE IN THE WINDOW FROM THE DASHBOARD I THOUGHT IT WAS ALL YOU ON THERE I TRIED TO WIPE AND THERE WAS A STICKY RESIDUE I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NO BIG DEAL NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT BUT IT GIVES ME A BURNING EYE FEELING ANTI-GLARE IS BLINDING EYEWEAR GLASSES AND I THINK IT'S A DANGER DATA DASHBOARD IS SEEPING SOME TYPE OF STICKY SUBSTANCE THAT COULD BE TOXIC
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LEXUS ES350. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE A DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT REQUIRED ADDITIONAL BRAKE PRESSURE TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LEXUS OF GLENDALE (LOCATED AT 1221 S BRAND BLVD, GLENDALE, CA 91204, (818) 507-1300) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO DRIVER ERROR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I WAS IN MY CAR, MOTOR RUNNING, FACING TRAFFIC ,STOPPED AT EDGE OF DRIVEWAY, WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, WAITING FOR TRAFFIC TO CLEAR. SUDDENLY CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE. I REFLEXIBLY PRESSED ON BRAKE WITH MAXIMUM FORCE. CAR CONTINUED VERY SLOWLY. I PULLED OUT OF GEAR TO NEUTRAL WHICH STOPPED CAR. CAR TRAVELED NO MORE THEN 1 CAR LENGTH TO STOP NEXT TO CURB. AFTER A PAUSE, I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE TO STOPS OVER 4 HOURS, I THEN DROVE HOME. THE NEXT MORNING I CALLED AND LEFT MESSAGE WITH NHTSA AND THE CAR MANUFACTURER. THE LATTER HAS HAD A DEALER INSPECT AND FOUND NO PROBLEM. I REQUESTED ANOTHER DEALER OPINION. MANUFACTURER OFFERS $500 FOR ANOTHER INSPECTION BUT DENYS ANY SUPPORT FOR COST OF SOLUTION. CAN NHTSA REVIEW THIS SITUATION FOR MANUFACTURER'S NEED TO RECALL? THIS SAME CAR AND MODEL HAD ACCELERATOR PROBLEMS IN 2007 RESUILTING IN SEVERAL FATALITIES.
MY OIL LINE IS LEAKING, I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND A RECALL ON THIS PART. CAN I GET THIS REPAIRED...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LEXUS ES350 EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO ECSTA LX PLATINUM TIRES, SIZE: 215/557R17 (NA). FOUR TIRES WERE PURCHASED NEW AND INSTALLED ON JUNE20,2016. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE TIRES BEGAN TO VIBRATE. THE DRIVER COULD BARELY STEER AND MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTERIOR BELT SLIPPED AND THREE OF THE FOUR TIRES WERE FAULTY. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO REPLACE THE TIRES THIS WEEK. TIRES WERE ROTATED BUT VIBRATION CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,500. I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH VISIBILITY SINCE I HAVE A STICKY, CRACKED DASHBOARD, AND IT'S PEELING OFF BIT BY BIT. I HAVE CALLED LEXUS CORPORATE MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET OR BUY A COVER WHICH QUITE FRANKLY IT LOOKS UGLY ON A LUXURY SEDAN. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I THOUGHT IT WAS A COSMETIC ISSUE, BUT IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE ESPECIALLY ON HOT WEATHER LIKE THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA. IT IS REALLY CONCERNING AS I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN WHEN THE SUN WAS GLARING OVER MY FRONT WINDSHIELD. I AM ACTUALLY TERRIFIED OF LEAVING MY HOME ON SUNNY DAYS AS I MIGHT GET IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE GLARE. FEW YEARS AGO, LEXUS OFFERED TO REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT IT WASN'T A RECALL AND THE OWNER DIDN'T HAVE IT FIXED. BACK THEN THE CAR HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THE DEALER (ESKRIDGE LEXUS OKC). THE GRACE PERIOD FOR THE REPLACEMENT IS OVER.THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND GOOD SERVICE RECORD. I HAVE NO PROOF OF WHAT I'M GOING TO SAY NEXT, BUT I FEAR THAT SINCE THE DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND CRACKED AND PEELING OFF, THE AIRBAGS MIGHT NOT PROPERLY DEPLOY IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.

DASHBOARD MELTS AND BECOMES STICK AND SHINY, CAUSING EXCESSIVE GLARE AND SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCING THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO SEE OUT OF WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED MANUFACTURING DEFECT. CONTACTING LEXUS/TOYOTA ABOUT THIS AND THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS NOT BAD IN THE WINTER TIME. BUT WITH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 40 DEGREES F AND WITH THE SUN SHINING IN THE CAR WINDSHIELD THE DASHBOARD MELTS AND BECOMES SHINY AND STICKY CAUSING DRIVER VISION ISSUES. WHEN IT IS SUNNY OUTSIDE THE REFLECTION OFF THE DASH IS ALMOST BLINDING FOR MAKES IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. LEXUS HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE THEY'RE WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THE DASH IS OVER.

VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE TOXICITY OF THE DASHBOARD AS WELL. IT'S MELTING, CHANGING COLOR FROM BLACK TO WHITE AND CRACKING. THIS CARCINOGENIC MATERIAL IS NOW POISONING ALL WHO RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO GLARE FROM DASH MELTING AND STICKY BECAUSE OF SHINE. ADDITIONALLY, IN THE FUTURE, THE DASH CANNOT BE REMOVED BECAUSE IT WILL CRUMBLE TO PERFORM ANY REPAIRS NECESSITATING REMOVAL OF DASH AND NO SHOPS WANT THAT RESPONSIBILITY. LEXUS REPLACED A COMPLETE DASH FOR A CRACK ON MY 2004 LEXUS WITHOUT IT BEING A SAFETY ISSUE BUT WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE GLARE COMING FROM THE DASH MELTING! THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 70,000 MILES AND IS ALWAYS GARAGED! THERE HAVE BEEN LAWSUITS FILED OVER THIS ISSUE!
