HELLO, WE OWN A 2007 LEXUS SEDAN AND LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CAR EXCEPT FOR THE DASHBOARD. IT HAS STARTED TO MELT AND HAVE BECOME STICKY. THE REASON FOR MY COMPLAIN HERE IS BECAUSE IT HAS BECOME A DRIVING HAZARD SINCE THE SUN IS ALWAYS BRIGHT IN TEXAS AND THE STICKY DASHBOARD GLARES ONTO MY WINDSCREEN MAKING DRIVING REALLY DIFFICULT AND WANTED TO FILE A COMPLAIN SINCE I TRIED TO GET IT FIXED FROM LEXUS AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME $1000 FOR REPLACING IT. IT IS MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND I AM NOT READY TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. THE FACT IS I STILL HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH LEXUS BUT DASH IS NOT COVERED IN THAT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. *TR

THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND SHINY VERY STICKY. THE GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD IS INTERFERING WITH THE DRIVER'S VISION. *TR
THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2007 ES 350 IS MELTING AWAY. IT HAS A REALLY SHINY & STICKY AREA ON THE DRIVER SIDE WHICH, CAUSES A LOT OF GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD & MAKING IT A SAFETY CONCERN. ALSO, THE DASHBOARD HAS AREAS THAT STARTED CRACKING DUE, TO THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO, THE DOOR PANELS ARE MELTING AS WELL. I TRY TO PROTECT THE DASHBOARD WITH THE SUNSHADES, BUT IT IS GETTING WORSE (EACH DAY). PLEASE HELP. *JS
I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED USED 2007 LEXUS ES 350 IN 2010 WITH APPROXIMATELY 26,000 MILES. IN 2014, I LEFT THE LEXUS IN MY FLORIDA PARKING LOT FOR THE SUMMER (MAY-OCTOBER). WHEN I RETURNED FROM NEW YORK, THE ENTIRE LEXUS DASHBOARD HAD MELTED! DUE TO THE MELTING, THERE IS A SHINY GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH MAKES IT HARD TO SEE. I BELIEVE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS CAR, AND THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. LEXUS SHOULD RECALL THESE CARS AND FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LEXUS ES350. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V340000 (AIR BAGS) AND CONTACTED THE DEALER (LEXUS OF OWNINGS MILL, MARYLAND) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS AN ELECTRONIC ISSUE AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
OIL DUMPED OUT CROSSING A VERY LONG BRIDGE & ENGINE FROZE UP/STEERING HARD TO CONTROL...DUE TO A DEFECTIVE VVTI_OIL HOSE RUPTURING..BOTH LEXUS & TOYOTA WERE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM & HAD ISSUED A "LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN" THAT ENDED ON MARCH 31, 2013..BOTH REFUSED TO FIX MY CAR THAT WITH RENTAL CARS, COST ME APROX. $7,000.00..THIS WAS A RUBBER HOSE, THAT BOTH MFGS. KNEW ABOUT AND BOTH CO.CONTINUED TO REPLACE THESE FAULTY HOSES, WITH ANOTHER "RUBBER HOSE", EVEN THO' THERE WAS & STILL IS A METAL HOSE THAT IS RECOMMENDED!! I HAD POSTED THIS PROBLEM WITH YA'LL, SHORTLY AFTER, BUT, DO NOT FIND RECORDS OF.. BUT, APPROX. 2 WEEKS AGO, I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FROM LEXUS STATING," THEY HAD DECIDED TO RE-OPEN THIS "LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN" TO EXTEND TO DEC. 31, 2021..A DAY TOO LATE & ALOT OF $$$$& TIME SPENT..EVEN THO' LEXUS SAID THEY WOULD CONSIDER REIMBURSEMENT ON CARS, LIKE MINE THAT ALREADY HAD BEEN REPAIRED. LEXUS IS ONLY DOING THIS, AGAIN, BECAUSE I AM 100% SURE THAT ALL THE MANY MANY LEXUS & TOYOTA CAR OWNERS THAT HAD THEIR HOSES REPLACED BACK IN 2013 AND PRIOR ARE NOW EXPERIENCING WHAT I HAD TO GO THRU: ENGINE DIED, ALMOST RAN OFF THE BRIDGE AND SPENT WEEKS WITHOUT A CAR..HAD TO RENT. CHECK ENGINE AND VSC LIGHTS WERE DISPLAYED AT 54,000 MILES. ERROR CODES INDICATED IGNITION COIL. THIS ISSUES HAS BEEN REPORTED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE 07 ES 350 AND 08 GS. THIS IS A CLEAR DEFECT AND IT SHOULD BE REPLACED VIA A RECALL. *TR
LOW OIL LIGHT CAME ON..STILL HAD 400 MILES ON STICKER..TOOK TO LEXUS DEALER, ADVISED THEM I NOTICED OIL LEAKS ON MY DRIVEWAY& PLEASE CHECK ANY PROBLEMS WITH WHY MY LIGHT SHOULD BE ON..LEXUS CHANGED OIL, FILTER &INSPECTION..SAID ALL IS GOOD..3 WEEKS LATER LESS THAN 2 BLOCKS FROM HOME..ENGINE OIL LIGHT CAME ON, STOPPED TO TURN ONTO MY ROAD.LOW OIL PRESSURE, THAN HIT DRIVEWAY VSC ON..THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS W/BOTH LEXUS & TOYOTA (LEXUS.LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN 923 LSC 9LH). MY ENGINE IS NOW RUINED.COST EST TO REPAIR..$6,000.00 TO $10,000. PURCHASHED FROM A TOYOTA DEALER..NEITHER THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP NOR THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ARE WILLING TO HELP..BOTH ARE AWARE OF THIS PLASTIC..VVTI OIL HOSE AND HAS REPLACED WITH A METAL LINE..ON LATER MODELS....I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 93 DAYS. I WAS CLEANING THE WINDSHIELD AND THE RAG SLIGHTLY RAN ACROSS THE DASH BOARD. SINCE THEN IT IS LIKE A GOOEY STICKY LIKE SUBSTANCE. IT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. I NOW HAVE A RIDICULOUS GLARE ON THE DRIVER SIDE , WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE. I HAVE FUSES AND HAIR FRAGMENTS STICKING TO MY DASH BOARD THAT WON'T COME OFF BECAUSE THEY ARE STUCK DUE TO THE MELTING OF THE DASH BOARD. I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT ANY TIME I EVEN SLIGHTLY HIT THE DASH BOARD WITH MY NAIL, OR RINGS OR BAG, A JUNK JUST FALLS OUT, IT FEELS LIKE PLAY-DOH OR CLAY. DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY AND SHINY. A VOLUNTARY WARRANTY SERVICE RECALL WAS ISSUED. THE CONDITION PRODUCES A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. WARRANTY EXTENSION REIMBURSEMENT OFFER EXPIRED IN MAY 2017. MY CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED FOR 2 1/2 YEARS. RECEIVED SERVICE NOTE AND JUST SET IT ASIDE AS CAR WAS GARAGED. RECENTLY RELICENSED VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY ON FIRST BRIGHT DAY WAS REMINDED OF THE ISSUE. LEXUS SAYS OFFER EXPIRED, PERIOD. I CAN CERTAINLY PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT ($1500). I CONTEND THIS IS AN ONGOING SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. I CONTEND LEXUS/TOYOTA AVOIDED A SAFETY RECALL BY PREEMPTIVELY ISSUING A SERVICE/WARRANTY NOTICE. THE DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY TO THE TOUCH. WHEN TRYING TO REMOVE THE STICKINESS WITH A PAPER TOWEL AND CLEANER, THE PAPER TOWEL BECAME STUCK TO THE DASHBOARD. AT THIS TIME UNABLE TO CLEAN THE DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD IS CREATING A GLARE ON THE FRONT WINDOW MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE AT TIMES. THE BLACK RUBBER EXTERIOR TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON MELTED. I WENT TO OPEN THE TRUNK AND HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING THE TRUNK TO OPEN. WHEN I BENT DOWN TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE BUTTON, IT WAS TOTALLY MELTED AND SMEARED ACROSS THE BOTTOM. I HAD BLACK RESIDUE ON MY FINGERS WHEN I TOUCHED WHAT WAS LEFT OF THE BUTTON. I REPORTED BOTH INCIDENTS TO MY SERVICE MANAGER IN JUNE 2014 WHEN I TOOK MY LEXUS IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRUNK BUTTON WOULD BE OVER $300 AND THE DASHBOARD WAS NOT COVERED. *TR
PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES FROM COSTCO IN JUNE 2012. SINCE NOV. 2013 THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SEVERAL TIMES EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE FILLED WITH NITROGEN FOR BETTER PRESSURE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK IN TO COSTCO TIRE CENTER SEVERAL TIMES. THE TIRES WERE CHECKED, REFILLED AND ROTATED AND NO SLOW LEAK WAS FOUND. THE TIRES ARE STILL UNDER THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY. I BARELY PUT 5,000 MILES PER YEAR ON MY CAR. GOING BACK TODAY HOPING I DON'T HAVE TO GET 2 NEW REAR TIRES. *TR
DASHBOARD MELT WHEN THE TEMPERATURE REACH 80 DEGREE WHICH IS MOST DAYS OF THE YEAR IN FLORIDA, COUPLE OF MONTH AGO THE MELTING DASHBOARD IS CAUSING A SEVERE GLARE THAT MAKE VISIBILITY DIFFICULT, AS A RESULT IT IS A HAZARD TO DRIVE THIS CAR EVERY DAY OR FOR MORE THAN ONE HOUR AT THE TIME OR THE TEMPERATURE IS 80 DEGREE OR HIGHER. LEXUS REFUSED TO REMEDY THE DEFECT IN THE PAST AND NOW THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING LEXUS IS SAYING THE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PARTS TO REPLACE ALL THE MELTING DASHBOARD. MEANWHILE I CAN BE KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND LEXUS COULD CARE LESS. I HAVE THREE YOUNG CHILDREN, SAFETY AND VISIBILITY ARE ESSENTIAL TO DRIVE MY CAR. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN MY LEXUS ES350 2007 AND I LOST MY TRUST IN THE BRAND NAME. I NEED YOUR HELP IN REMEDY MY HAZARD/SAFETY ISSUE CAUSED INTESTINALLY BY LEXUS KNOWING FLORIDA HAS A HIGHER TEMPERATURE THAN MOST OTHER STATES. *TR
THE BUTTON ON THE DECK LID TO OPEN HAD BECOME VERY STICKY AS IF MELTED ALSO THE STEERING WHEEL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. IT IS AS IF THE COATING ON BOTH HAS BECOME LIKE PUTTY.
THE DASHBOARD AND DOOR PANELS ARE MELTING. TOP OF DASHBOARD IS SO SHINY IT CAUSES VISUAL DISTURBANCE. WAS ADVISED MONTHS AGO BY LEXUS THAT RECALL IS IMPENDING
THE PLASTIC CLIPS THAT ATTACH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW BROKE, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO JUMP OUT OF THE TRACK. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON LEXUS OWNER FORUMS IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE WITH 2007-2008 ES350 MODELS. LEXUS EVEN REALIZES THERE IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE THEY PUT OUT A SAFETY BULLETIN (L-SB-0003-09) ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER IS FORCING THE CONSUMER TO PURCHASE AN ENTIRE NEW WINDOW IN ORDER TO FIX THEIR FAULTY DESIGN. WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE THAT THIS ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR AN ACCIDENT MAY HAVE OCCURRED. I WOULD A COMPANY WHO'S SLOGAN IS "THE PURSUIT OF PERFECTION" TO STAND UP AND ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE AN ISSUE. *TR
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SUPPOSED TO TRACK WITH THE DIRECTION OF MY I FRONT TIRES. FOR THE PAST 2+ YEARS MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE SPORADICALLY BEEN TURNING OFF. SOMETIMES IT WILL BE ONE LIGHT, OTHER TIMES IT WILL BE BOTH. I AM FORCED TO TURN ON MY BRIGHTS. USUALLY, I CAN IMMEDIATELY SWITCH BACK TO MY LOW BEAM AND THEY WILL COME BACK ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP SO THEY COULD CHANGE THE LIGHT BULBS. AFTER INSPECTING THE LIGHTS, THEY FOUND THE PLASTIC MOUNT WAS DISINTEGRATING. THE HEAT FROM THE HALOGEN LIGHTS WAS DETERIORATING THE PLASTIC. AS A RESULT, THE MOUNT WAS UNABLE TO TRACK. THEY DID NOT WANT TO ATTEMPT TO REPLACE THE BULBS BECAUSE THE WHOLE UNIT WAS TOO FRAGILE.

DASHBOARD MATERIAL MELTED CREATING A BLINDING GLARE ON THE INTERIOR OF WINDSHIELD DURING DAYTIME HOURS. DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASH BOARD WAS MELTING, WHICH CAUSED IT TO BECOME ABNORMALLY SHINY AND BLOCKING THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DASH BOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,300. UPDATED 8/28/14*CN UPDATED 09/12/2014 *JS

IN APRIL OF 2013, I NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD OF OUR LEXUS HAD SMALL TEARS OR CRACKS ON IT. IT LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE HAD STUCK THEIR FINGERNAILS INTO THE DASHBOARD. I THOUGHT IT WAS ODD SINCE NEITHER MY HUSBAND NOR MYSELF HAD DONE SUCH A THING. OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS, AS THE WEATHER BECAME HOTTER IN FLORIDA, OUR DASHBOARD (FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD) BEGAN TO MELT. IT BECAME VERY STICKY AND BEGAN TO CAUSE VISUAL PROBLEMS ON THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE REFLECTION/GLARE FROM THE MELTING DASH. MY HUSBAND CALLED LEXUS IN JULY 2013 TO EXPLAIN THE ISSUE AND THE SAFETY HAZARD IT WAS CREATING. HE ASKED FOR THE DASHBOARD TO BE REPLACED, CITING THERE HAD TO BE A DEFECT. WE HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE WITH ANY OTHER CAR WE HAVE OWNED AND WE HAVE OWNED 9 CARS OVER THE YEARS, ALL IN FLORIDA'S HOT SUN. FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS WE GOT THE RUN AROUND FROM LEXUS. THE FINAL DECISION WAS THAT LEXUS WOULD REPLACE OUR DASH AT A REDUCED COST BECAUSE OUR CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND OUR ISSUE WAS AN ISOLATED PROBLEM THAT THEY HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE. IT WAS THEIR OPINION THAT WE HAD DONE SOMETHING TO OUR DASH TO CAUSE THIS. WE OF COURSE KNEW WE DID NOT! WE REFUSED TO PAY FOR A NEW DASH, SO WE HAVE DEALT WITH THE INCONVENIENCE FOR ALMOST A YEAR. RECENTLY, I SAW A SEGMENT ON OUR LOCAL NEWS ABOUT OTHER CARS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. THE NEWS ORGANIZATION URGED CONSUMERS TO FOLLOW THE LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE AND ISSUE A COMPLAINT, SO THIS ISSUE CAN BE RECALLED AND FIXED. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL FOR ALL VEHICLE MAKE AND MODELS THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE REFLECTION BLOCKS MY FIELD OF VISION WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR ON A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY. I HAVE PICTURES THAT WERE SENT TO LEXUS WITH OUR ORIGINAL COMPLAINT. THEY NOT ONLY SHOW THE STICKINESS BUT THE VIABILITY ISSUE. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED TO SEE THEM. *TR
DASHBOARD IS MELTING WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE DUE TO THE GLARE. BUGS AND DIRT ARE NOW STUCK ON THE DASHBOARD THAT YOU CANNOT CLEAN. I NOW HAVE PLASTIC CONTAINERS TO DECREASE THE GLARE. MY LEXUS DEALER WAS TO SEE IF HE COULD GET ME SOME ASSISTANCE ON GETTING THIS FIX IN SEPT. 2013; NO WORD TO-DATE. THIS IS A MAJOR HAZARD BOTH DAY AND NIGHT (GLARE FROM STREET LIGHTS). *TR
I WAS HIT BY A TRUCK AT AN INTERSECTION ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. MY UPPER BODY HIT THE STEERING WHEEL ON THE LEFT SIDE AND THEN HIT THE SIDE DOOR PANEL. THERE WAS NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT EITHER IN THE DOOR OR ON THE STEERING WHEEL. PRIOR TO THIS THE CAR WAS IN TWO OTHER ACCIDENTS AND THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. BECAUSE THERE WERE NO INJURIES I DID NOT REPORT THIS. DUE TO THIS ACCIDENT I SUFFERED A TOTAL SHOULDER SEPARATION AND SEVER NECK INJURY. PENDING SURGERY AT THIS TIME.
DASH IS MELTING AND LEXUS OR TOYOTA ARE NOT WILLING TO REPLACE FREE OF CHARGE. I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS CAR AND THE PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. I RECENTLY READ ABOUT THE ISSUE WITH THE LEXUS IS MODEL BEING GIVEN A TECHNICAL ADVISORY FOR THE BREAKDOWN OF THE DASHBOARD AND I WAS WONDERING WHY THIS PROBLEM IS ONLY ADDRESSED ON THE IS MODEL AND NOT THE ES AS WELL. I AM AN ES 2007 OWNER WHO IS AND HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM FOR MANY MONTHS NOW. I WAS TOLD BY LEXUS THAT TO REPLACE IT WOULD COST $3000 AND I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE INSTRUMENT PANELS ON THE STEERING WHEEL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WHERE THE RUBBER HAS BROKEN DOWN AND DISINTEGRATED. I AM ANGRY BECAUSE THIS IS A LEXUS FOR GOD'S SAKE. I RECENTLY ASKED MY INSURANCE COMPANY IF I COULD CLAIM THIS DAMAGE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD HEARD OF THE SAME PROBLEM IN 2007 TOYOTA'S AND IS'S AND THAT TOYOTA ISSUED A RECALL. MY THING IS IF TOYOTA ISSUED A RECALL, THEN SO SHOULD LEXUS. ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE THAT THEY USED DIFFERENT PRODUCTS WHEN THEY HAVE THE SAME LOOK AS THE ONES IN THE TOYOTA LINE OF CARS FOR THAT YEAR? I AM UPSET THAT MY LUXURY CARE IS A LUXURY ROAD HAZARD AND NOBODY HAS ADDRESSED IT IN THE ES350. STARTING AROUND 2013, THE RUBBER ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND DASH BOARD STARTED TO DISINTEGRATE. FIRST BECOMING STICKY, THEN SHEDDING SMALL BITS OF PLASTIC AND FINALLY BECOMING SLICK AND SHINY. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE I HAD MY VEHICLE AFTERMARKET TINTED ALL AROUND AND USE SUN SHADES RELIGIOUSLY. I HAVE ALREADY PAID OUT OF POCKET OVER $900 JUST TO HAVE THE STEERING WHEEL PARTS REPLACED WITH NEW RUBBER AND I THINK THAT IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE A LEXUS WHOSE GLARE FROM THE SHINY DASH HAS BEEN CAUSING ME PROBLEMS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT TO THE POINT WHERE I AVOID DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND COMING TO A STOP, ANOTHER VEHICLE SUDDENLY CRASHED INTO THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE WITH SUBSTANTIAL FORCE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE COLLAR BONE, SHOULDER, AND LEFT LEG. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE BRUISES AND LACERATIONS TO THE SHOULDER. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH WRISTS AND THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE WE DRIVING DOWN THE TURNPIKE HEADING INTO PHILADELPHIA, MY WIFE TRIED TO ROLL DOWN HER WINDOWS AND THEN BACK UP. AS SHE DID, THE GLASS CAME OFF ITS TRACK AND ALMOST POPPED OUT OF THE DOOR. WE WERE GOING ABOUT 70 MPH. AT THIS SPEED, THAT WINDOW MAY HAVE COME OFF AND FLOWN OFF OUR CAR, HITTING ANOTHER CAR. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN POTENTIALLY FATAL. THE ONLY REASON IT DID NOT FLY OFF, WAS MY WIFE GRABBED ON TO IT WHILE I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY. *TR
MELTING DASHBOARD-HAVE ASKED IT TO BE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES I WAS TOLD IT WASN'T COVERED. YESTERDAY I WAS TOLD IT IS COVERED BUT COULD TAKE YEARS TO GET THE PARTS IN. I'VE BEEN ASKING ABOUT IT FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND NOW THE REFLECTION FROM THE GOOEY MELTING DASH IS OBSCURING MY VISIBILITY ON SUNNY DAYS. I LIVE IN FLORIDA SO MOST DAYS ARE SUNNY DAYS. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET BUT I DON'T WANT TO WAIT FOR A CRASH TO GET IT REPAIRED.
TAKATA INFLATORS WHY HAS THE GOVT. NOT DONE ANYTHING TO GET LEXUS TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I AM BASICALLY BEING HELD HOSTAGE IN THIS SITUATION. THEY CAN PUT A CAR ON THE ROAD, WITHOUT A DRIVER, BUT CANNOT FIX AN AIRBAG???. AND THE GOVT., WHICH I AS A TAXPAYER EMPLOY, HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT.THE SITUATION.. HENDRICK, THE LOCAL LEXUS DEALER, WILL NOT EVEN RETURN MY CALLS I NEED AN ANSWER ASAP.
THE DASHBOARD ON MY VEHICLE IS MELTING. THIS IS CAUSING AN UNSAFE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE MELTING, SHINY DASHBOARD REFLECTING ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. THE DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY TO THE TOUCH, YOU CAN'T WIPE THE DASHBOARD DUE TO THE STICKINESS CAUSING A RAG OR CLOTH TO STICK TO THE DASH. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO HELP AVAILABLE FROM LEXUS IN REGARDS TO THIS PROBLEM. THIS S A VEHICLE DEFECT, I HAVE NEVER HAD A VEHICLE DO THIS. THE ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD. *TR
WHILE PARKED, I LET THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN. WHEN LETTING THE WINDOW UP I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE WINDOW TIPPED DOWN IN THE FRONT LEAVING A LARGE GAP. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK IN PLACE MANUALLY. TOOK IT TO THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. WAS TOLD ONE OF THE PLASTIC CLIPS ON THE GLASS HAD BROKEN AND THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED SO THE TOTAL COST INCLUDING THE WINDOW TINT WAS $646.67. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM. I READ IF TAKEN TO A GLASS REPAIR SHOP, THERE IS A PERMANENT FIX. *TR

PULLED OVER IN DEC 2012 AND GIVEN VERBAL BY POLICE BECAUSE DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT OUT/WHILE TALKING TO POLICE CLICKED LIGHTS ON AND OFF AND HEADLIGHT STARTED WORKING. THE DRIVER SEAT WINDOW GLASS JUST WENT DOWN WHEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A FREEWAY IN FREEZING WINTER WEATHER, THE WINDOW GLASS WOULD NOT GO UP AND SHE COULD PULL IT UP ALSO BECAUSE THE WINDOW GLASS WENT INSIDE THE DOOR COMPLETELY. SHE WAS IN A REMOTE AREA AND HAD TO DRIVE MANY MILES WITH OPEN FRONT WINDOW WITH BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURE TO FIND A NEAREST LEXUS DEALER SHE ALSO HAD TWO KIDS IN THE CAR TO MAKE SITUATION STILL WORSE. THE LEXUS DEALER SAID THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND WINDOW GLASS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE PLASTIC CLIP HOLDING THE WINDOW GLASS TO THE REGULATOR HAD BROKEN. DEALER SAID HE HAS TO ORDER THE PARTS FOR IT AND GAVE A QUOTE OF $800. WORST PART IS THE DEALER PULLED THE WINDOW GLASS UP AND PUT SOME TAPE TO HOLD IT TEMPORARILY AND CHARGED $100 DOLLARS FOR IT. I CANNOT BELIEVE LUXURY CAR LIKE LEXUS WILL HAVE SUCH FAULTY PARTS INSTALLED WHEN I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE I SAW MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ON SAME EXACT ISSUE WE FACED, THIS WINDOW GLASS AND PARTS SHOULD BE RE-CALLED AND REPLACED FOR FREE BY LEXUS BECAUSE IT CAN BE SAFETY ISSUE IF THIS HAPPENS IN FREEZING WINTER WEATHER. *TR

Toyoto confirmed knowledge of problem with inferior dashboard of Lexus es350 2007. A recall which they are telling me now, they will no longer honor had been in effect: "January 21, 2015 — After years of complaints and recent lawsuits, Toyota has agreed to replace about 3.5 million dashboards that get sticky, cracked, shiny and melt in heat and humidity. Calling it a "Customer Support Program" - ZE6 - Toyota will extend dashboard warranty coverage on the following Toyota and Lexus vehicles." The PHOTO of my dashboard below, shows the cracks and chipping that has occurred over the years. If the air bag deploys fragments will be disbursed throughout my vehicle. I have two grandchildren that I drive to school each day and this is a very bad situation about to happen. I contacted the customer service numerous times and simply flat out said that they will not own responsibility.
